Welcome friends to "Books of the Book." 00:00:20.81\00:00:22.85 The program that studies the Bible, 00:00:22.88\00:00:25.24 one book at a time just as the word of God reads. 00:00:25.27\00:00:28.76 The more you watch or the more you listen by radio, 00:00:28.79\00:00:31.57 as the case may be, the more deeply, 00:00:31.60\00:00:34.08 personally and intimately 00:00:34.11\00:00:35.45 acquainted you will become with the word of God 00:00:35.48\00:00:38.33 and the more acquainted you will become 00:00:38.36\00:00:40.44 with the character of God 00:00:40.47\00:00:42.00 is the central theme of Scripture. 00:00:42.03\00:00:45.21 Today we're going to be considering the Book of Hebrews 00:00:45.24\00:00:47.58 and I have my co-host with me here, James Rafferty. 00:00:47.61\00:00:51.01 And we're going to launch into the Book of Hebrews 00:00:51.04\00:00:53.81 and so we want to invite you to get your Bible 00:00:53.84\00:00:56.86 and pull up a chair, get comfortable 00:00:56.89\00:00:58.55 somewhere there in your house, 00:00:58.58\00:01:00.17 and open into the Book of Hebrews. 00:01:00.20\00:01:01.56 And James we're gonna began by exploring 00:01:01.59\00:01:04.04 the authorship of the Book of Hebrews. 00:01:04.07\00:01:06.72 Because as you open the Book of Hebrews, 00:01:06.75\00:01:10.14 it doesn't have these beginning salutations 00:01:10.17\00:01:14.09 that we have come to expect 00:01:14.12\00:01:17.87 from the writings of the Apostle Paul 00:01:17.90\00:01:19.62 and the other Apostles in the New Testament. 00:01:19.65\00:01:21.82 It just begins rather a breathily, 00:01:21.85\00:01:24.12 just launching right into the subject matter 00:01:24.15\00:01:26.47 and because of that, some people, 00:01:26.50\00:01:29.18 many people in fact, have questioned 00:01:29.21\00:01:31.85 whether or not the Apostle Paul is the author. 00:01:31.88\00:01:34.33 Well, at the same time there are a numbers of scholars 00:01:34.36\00:01:36.74 and Bible students who do believe 00:01:36.77\00:01:39.59 that Paul is the author of the Book of Hebrews 00:01:39.62\00:01:42.68 and we take that position and we'd like to just flush out, 00:01:42.71\00:01:46.03 first of all here as we launching the Book of Hebrews, 00:01:46.06\00:01:48.71 why it is that we believe that Paul 00:01:48.74\00:01:51.33 is in fact the author of Hebrews. 00:01:51.36\00:01:53.34 And you know, Ty this is a major thing. 00:01:53.37\00:01:55.27 I mean this is something we can talk about but it is not major. 00:01:55.30\00:01:58.79 We were talking on the plane over here 00:01:58.82\00:02:00.28 and the real emphasis that we want to emphasize that-- 00:02:00.31\00:02:04.10 we want to make emphasis we want to make here is 00:02:04.13\00:02:06.67 the Bible is a life changing book. 00:02:06.70\00:02:09.05 And we were talking on the plane, 00:02:09.08\00:02:10.11 you remember about how, we were just wondering, 00:02:10.14\00:02:13.57 where would our lives be 00:02:13.60\00:02:15.43 if we had never accounted the word of God? 00:02:15.46\00:02:17.47 Yeah, I shutter to think of it. Yes. 00:02:17.50\00:02:19.79 And so to us and to our viewers 00:02:19.82\00:02:21.93 we want to make sure that they understand 00:02:21.96\00:02:23.79 as we study this and our listeners out there 00:02:23.82\00:02:27.19 that the core emphasis of what we gonna be looking at 00:02:27.22\00:02:30.06 is the life changing power the word of God 00:02:30.09\00:02:32.83 can have a upon us as we read and study. 00:02:32.86\00:02:34.71 Yeah, and James, we need to remember 00:02:34.74\00:02:36.10 that as Peter tell us that 00:02:36.13\00:02:38.82 "Holy men of old spoke 00:02:38.85\00:02:40.34 as they were moved upon by the Holy Spirit." 00:02:40.37\00:02:42.96 So there is the sense in which we need to understand 00:02:42.99\00:02:46.19 that when we take the word of God in hand, 00:02:46.22\00:02:48.80 we are encountering the word of God, 00:02:48.83\00:02:52.98 the word of God, not the word of any Apostle 00:02:53.01\00:02:55.70 or Prophet in a primary sense. 00:02:55.73\00:02:57.22 Of course they are the channels through which God is speaking. 00:02:57.25\00:03:00.55 But the Holy Spirit is working through these authors. 00:03:00.58\00:03:03.28 But the fact is that there are some good insights 00:03:03.31\00:03:07.13 that we can gain from recognizing that Paul 00:03:07.16\00:03:10.55 was the channel through whom the Holy Spirit worked 00:03:10.58\00:03:13.41 for the composition of the Book of Hebrews. 00:03:13.44\00:03:15.72 Yeah and sometimes, there are the reasons 00:03:15.75\00:03:18.31 why perhaps the authorship needs to be a little bit mysterious. 00:03:18.34\00:03:21.54 For example, one of the struggles 00:03:21.57\00:03:23.49 or problems that we have 00:03:23.52\00:03:24.55 as we look at Paul being the author of Hebrews 00:03:24.58\00:03:26.70 is that he consistently introduces himself 00:03:26.73\00:03:29.75 and every other epistle and every other letter 00:03:29.78\00:03:32.09 that he basically writes to these different churches, 00:03:32.12\00:03:35.63 he introduced himself, an apostle of Jesus Christ. 00:03:35.66\00:03:38.04 Paul, an apostle, a prisoner of the Lord et cetera. 00:03:38.07\00:03:40.27 We don't see any introduction in the Book of Hebrews. 00:03:40.30\00:03:42.56 Now one of the reasons for that I believe 00:03:42.59\00:03:44.17 is because Paul in most of his letters 00:03:44.20\00:03:47.92 and most of his epistles 00:03:47.95\00:03:49.46 is writing to the gentile believers. 00:03:49.49\00:03:52.30 In the Book of Hebrews, he's writing specifically 00:03:52.33\00:03:54.75 to the Hebrews, the Israelites, 00:03:54.78\00:03:56.25 his kinsmen according to the flesh. 00:03:56.28\00:03:57.95 And I think what Paul is seeking to do here is divert himself. 00:03:57.98\00:04:03.05 In other words, divert attention from himself. 00:04:03.08\00:04:04.85 Diverse himself and focus here and get right to God. 00:04:04.88\00:04:09.00 Right to the Old Testament Prophets 00:04:09.03\00:04:11.32 which is how he introduces the Book of Hebrews 00:04:11.35\00:04:13.70 so that he doesn't need to be the one that is focused upon 00:04:13.73\00:04:17.48 and he definitely doesn't want to direct people to himself 00:04:17.51\00:04:20.59 being the Apostle of Christ 00:04:20.62\00:04:21.84 because there is a little bit of prejudice there 00:04:21.87\00:04:23.84 about Christ being the Messiah et cetera 00:04:23.87\00:04:26.38 and he wants to move past that. 00:04:26.41\00:04:27.62 There is also prejudice as we look at the history 00:04:27.65\00:04:30.07 in the New Testament especially the Book of Acts. 00:04:30.10\00:04:32.28 There is a prejudice against Paul 00:04:32.31\00:04:34.59 from the Jewish standpoint because the Apostle Paul 00:04:34.62\00:04:38.36 can converted to Christianity. 00:04:38.39\00:04:41.39 He has become one of the foremost champions 00:04:41.42\00:04:44.79 of the Christian faith. 00:04:44.82\00:04:46.00 He's a turncoat in many of the Hebrew people minds. 00:04:46.03\00:04:50.46 And so he is not wanting to make himself prominent 00:04:50.49\00:04:53.27 and while there is a not an opening salutation, 00:04:53.30\00:04:56.23 there is a closing salutation that is very interesting 00:04:56.26\00:04:59.16 in Book of Hebrews that very clearly indicates 00:04:59.19\00:05:01.69 that the Apostle Paul is the person 00:05:01.72\00:05:03.56 that is addressing us here. 00:05:03.59\00:05:05.24 James in Chapter 13:23 and 24 00:05:05.27\00:05:08.75 it's very clear we read these words. 00:05:08.78\00:05:11.25 "Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, 00:05:11.28\00:05:14.86 with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly." 00:05:14.89\00:05:18.77 And then these words in verse 24, 00:05:18.80\00:05:20.58 "Greet all those who rule over you, and all the saints. 00:05:20.61\00:05:24.72 Those from Italy greet you. 00:05:24.75\00:05:26.51 Grace and peace be with you all. Amen." 00:05:26.54\00:05:28.87 So there is a couple of points here 00:05:28.90\00:05:30.74 concerning the authorship of Hebrews. 00:05:30.77\00:05:32.58 Number 1 in verse 23, Timothy is mentioned. 00:05:32.61\00:05:36.01 So it's very clear that the author of Hebrews 00:05:36.04\00:05:39.37 is a companion of Timothy. 00:05:39.40\00:05:41.49 With Timothy, right. That's right. 00:05:41.52\00:05:42.55 And it's clear in the other epistles 00:05:42.58\00:05:44.41 of Paul in the New Testament. 00:05:44.44\00:05:45.83 The Timothy was in fact 00:05:45.86\00:05:47.34 a traveling companion of the Apostle Paul. 00:05:47.37\00:05:50.63 The second point that we know here 00:05:50.66\00:05:52.54 is that he is writing from Italy. 00:05:52.57\00:05:55.95 Where Paul was in prison for a couple of days. 00:05:55.98\00:05:58.19 And Romans 16:21, tell us that and Philippians, 00:05:58.22\00:06:01.98 Philemon, Colossians, 2 Corinthians, 00:06:02.01\00:06:04.29 Thessalonians first and second, 00:06:04.32\00:06:05.72 all tell us that Timothy and Paul 00:06:05.75\00:06:07.59 were traveling companions. 00:06:07.62\00:06:08.65 That's right. That's right. 00:06:08.68\00:06:09.71 So from Italy this letter is issued to the Jewish people, 00:06:09.74\00:06:13.32 to the Jewish believers and obviously an effort 00:06:13.35\00:06:16.53 to convert more Jews to Messiah 00:06:16.56\00:06:20.03 and this person is traveling with Timothy 00:06:20.06\00:06:23.64 and will be coming with Timothy when he is set free. 00:06:23.67\00:06:26.81 Clearly this is the Apostle Paul. 00:06:26.84\00:06:28.56 But there are other evidences that Paul is the author, James. 00:06:28.59\00:06:31.31 Absolutely, that's the powerful one though. 00:06:31.34\00:06:33.17 I think when you look at the writing style of Hebrews 00:06:33.20\00:06:36.22 even though you see a little bit of different of approach 00:06:36.25\00:06:38.21 and we will look at that some more as we go on. 00:06:38.24\00:06:40.56 We also recognize a lot of illustrations 00:06:40.59\00:06:43.22 that we used that we used to Hebrews 00:06:43.25\00:06:44.28 that are very compatible with it, 00:06:44.31\00:06:46.81 and almost identical to other illustrations 00:06:46.84\00:06:48.84 that are used by Paul and others of his writings. 00:06:48.87\00:06:50.99 For example, he refers to running a race 00:06:51.02\00:06:54.30 in Hebrews Chapter 12, that's the same illustration 00:06:54.33\00:06:57.84 that we find in 1 Corinthians Chapter 9. 00:06:57.87\00:07:00.13 He talks about the wilderness experience of God's people 00:07:00.16\00:07:03.22 and then failing to enter into rest and fearing lest we do. 00:07:03.25\00:07:07.35 He uses those illustrations in Hebrews 3 and 4 00:07:07.38\00:07:10.54 and uses the same illustrations that he talks 00:07:10.57\00:07:12.79 about the Israelites in Romans Chapter 11. 00:07:12.82\00:07:16.09 He, in fact in Romans Chapter 9, 00:07:16.12\00:07:18.61 we see Paul ardently, fervently desiring 00:07:18.64\00:07:22.25 to reach his kids when according to the flesh. 00:07:22.28\00:07:24.31 Want to do anything and everything 00:07:24.34\00:07:26.09 he can to reach them. 00:07:26.12\00:07:28.24 In First Corinthians he talks about being babies in Christ 00:07:28.27\00:07:31.92 and he uses that same illustration 00:07:31.95\00:07:33.69 in Hebrews Chapters 5 and 6. 00:07:33.72\00:07:35.49 So we have a lot of these similar illustrations 00:07:35.52\00:07:38.55 that are used in the Book of Hebrews 00:07:38.58\00:07:39.80 that we find in other of Paul's writings. 00:07:39.83\00:07:41.65 Not only that James, but it's very clear 00:07:41.68\00:07:45.66 that if you'd look at all the characters 00:07:45.69\00:07:48.17 that we encounter in the New Testament, 00:07:48.20\00:07:50.43 Peter, James, John, all of them, Timothy even. 00:07:50.46\00:07:55.13 You would very much conclude that the person 00:07:55.16\00:07:58.97 who would be best qualified to write the Book of Hebrews 00:07:59.00\00:08:02.84 just from a pure educational background standpoint, 00:08:02.87\00:08:05.77 scholarship standpoint, the Apostle Paul 00:08:05.80\00:08:08.40 is best qualified to address the Jews on these levels. 00:08:08.43\00:08:12.06 Pharisees. Yeah. 00:08:12.09\00:08:13.78 He was born of the tribe of Benjamin, 00:08:13.81\00:08:15.46 circumcised on the eight day. 00:08:15.49\00:08:16.84 According to the law he was blameless. 00:08:16.87\00:08:18.32 He knew, he understood the Jewish economy. 00:08:18.35\00:08:20.17 He was very familiar with the Old Testament Scriptures. 00:08:20.20\00:08:22.45 He was very familiar with the sacrificial system. 00:08:22.48\00:08:24.97 He was an educated Hebrew 00:08:25.00\00:08:27.18 and we find that whoever wrote the Book of Hebrews 00:08:27.21\00:08:30.26 as you read it through really knows their stuff. 00:08:30.29\00:08:32.74 Yes, of all the Apostles, of all the disciples 00:08:32.77\00:08:35.02 he is the most qualified. 00:08:35.05\00:08:36.67 He is the one that uses illustrations, 00:08:36.70\00:08:38.59 here that you like his other writings. 00:08:38.62\00:08:40.40 He is the one that was traveling companion with Timothy. 00:08:40.43\00:08:42.78 So we see a lot of evidence point toward Paul. 00:08:42.81\00:08:44.64 There is another thing that I find fascinating James 00:08:44.67\00:08:47.61 regarding Paul is the author of Hebrews. 00:08:47.64\00:08:50.15 One of the reasons why some people have said, 00:08:50.18\00:08:52.84 no, Paul couldn't possibly be the author of Hebrews 00:08:52.87\00:08:56.63 is because Hebrews has a slightly or may be even 00:08:56.66\00:09:00.15 a strong different flavor then much of the other epistles, 00:09:00.18\00:09:05.28 many of the other epistles that Paul 00:09:05.31\00:09:07.01 has written in the New Testament, 00:09:07.04\00:09:08.36 there is in the Book of Hebrews an intimate feel. 00:09:08.39\00:09:11.84 Paul in Hebrews is speaking to the heart 00:09:11.87\00:09:15.70 to reach the mind more than reaching 00:09:15.73\00:09:19.08 into the heart through the mind. 00:09:19.11\00:09:20.73 The other epistles are clearly addressing gentile believers 00:09:20.76\00:09:24.97 and they need to be persuaded intellectually 00:09:25.00\00:09:27.90 and their hearts reached through their intellect, 00:09:27.93\00:09:30.10 but here the Hebrews their familiar with 00:09:30.13\00:09:32.77 the Jewish economy and so on. 00:09:32.80\00:09:34.80 So Paul is appealing to their hearts. 00:09:34.83\00:09:37.71 And why is he doing that? 00:09:37.74\00:09:38.97 Because he was a Jew who is intellectually persuaded 00:09:39.00\00:09:43.01 of the trues of the Old Testament, 00:09:43.04\00:09:44.41 however he did not have disbelieve in Jesus Christ. 00:09:44.44\00:09:48.07 How was he converted to Jesus? 00:09:48.10\00:09:49.60 It was personal encounter with Christ 00:09:49.63\00:09:51.76 that converted him on the road to Damascus. 00:09:51.79\00:09:53.75 And so he is appealing to the Jews in the same way 00:09:53.78\00:09:55.89 that he was brought to Christ. 00:09:55.92\00:09:57.24 He is actually wanting to introduce 00:09:57.27\00:09:59.33 them to a personal encounter with Christ. 00:09:59.36\00:10:01.11 So immediately he totally sets himself aside, 00:10:01.14\00:10:04.36 doesn't even introduces himself as the author 00:10:04.39\00:10:06.45 and goes directly from the Prophets to Jesus Christ. 00:10:06.48\00:10:10.02 He's spoken by the Prophets in his last days. 00:10:10.05\00:10:12.13 He's spoken was through Jesus Christ 00:10:12.16\00:10:13.91 and goes right into who the Son of God is? 00:10:13.94\00:10:16.55 Yeah, so some people have thought, well, 00:10:16.58\00:10:19.03 Paul's other writings are so intellectual, 00:10:19.06\00:10:21.28 there are so propositional, so factual. 00:10:21.31\00:10:24.24 It doesn't seem like the same characters 00:10:24.27\00:10:26.25 right in the Book of Hebrews 00:10:26.28\00:10:27.31 because when we go to the Book of Hebrews 00:10:27.34\00:10:29.61 the open to the book is immediately introducing 00:10:29.64\00:10:33.65 God on a personal level through Jesus Christ. 00:10:33.68\00:10:36.40 And then he's launching into all of this language 00:10:36.43\00:10:39.75 that is directed-- it's irrational, 00:10:39.78\00:10:43.10 it's irrational language. 00:10:43.13\00:10:44.30 It's come to God boldly, draw near to the Lord, 00:10:44.33\00:10:48.89 enter into His rest, enter into the presence 00:10:48.92\00:10:51.88 behind the veil in chapter 6. 00:10:51.91\00:10:54.00 It's a call to relationship. 00:10:54.03\00:10:55.42 Which takes us right into another theme 00:10:55.45\00:10:57.01 and that is the theme of something better. 00:10:57.04\00:10:59.11 This theme is really in essence is contrasting 00:10:59.14\00:11:03.60 religion with relationship. 00:11:03.63\00:11:05.70 Paul had religion, he always had religion. 00:11:05.73\00:11:07.76 But now he wants to move to relationship. 00:11:07.79\00:11:09.99 He moved to a relationship when he saw Christ. 00:11:10.02\00:11:12.10 And he wants to move the Hebrews to relationship 00:11:12.13\00:11:14.13 because he knows that's the last hope 00:11:14.16\00:11:16.44 to reach them for the Messiah. 00:11:16.47\00:11:18.62 And anybody who's spent time in the word of God 00:11:18.65\00:11:21.61 and has had a Christian experience 00:11:21.64\00:11:23.78 for any length of time and has gone through 00:11:23.81\00:11:26.51 the experimental process of navigating 00:11:26.54\00:11:28.65 through Christianity knows that rules 00:11:28.68\00:11:31.48 and religion without relationship 00:11:31.51\00:11:33.40 result in rebellion. 00:11:33.43\00:11:34.85 The fact is that the Bible is not just about 00:11:34.88\00:11:40.04 communicating doctrinal facts. 00:11:40.07\00:11:41.62 The Bible is about introducing God as a personal being, 00:11:41.65\00:11:46.05 who as it is very clearly communicated in Hebrews, 00:11:46.08\00:11:48.98 wants to enter into personal relationship with us. 00:11:49.01\00:11:52.06 Relationship is the essence, not only of Christianity 00:11:52.09\00:11:54.92 but of family, of marriage, of community. 00:11:54.95\00:11:58.16 Relationship is the essence of everything 00:11:58.19\00:12:00.23 we're about as a human family. 00:12:00.26\00:12:02.16 And so Paul here is directing us to relationship 00:12:02.19\00:12:05.46 as the essence of how we can enter into this experience 00:12:05.49\00:12:08.58 that we are supposed to have with Jesus Christ. 00:12:08.61\00:12:10.81 And that highlights what Paul was trying to communicate 00:12:10.84\00:12:14.63 in his usage of this word better over and over again. 00:12:14.66\00:12:18.48 Thirteen times in the Book of Hebrews, 00:12:18.51\00:12:21.62 so obviously is the theme, the Apostle Paul 00:12:21.65\00:12:24.32 uses the word "better." 00:12:24.35\00:12:26.02 And this word is very interesting James. 00:12:26.05\00:12:29.01 It is the Greek word, Crichton, and literally means stronger, 00:12:29.04\00:12:33.64 more powerful or superior in strength. 00:12:33.67\00:12:37.96 Everything that we encounter in Jesus Christ 00:12:37.99\00:12:41.43 is superior in strength, in power, 00:12:41.46\00:12:44.35 than everything that has gone before him 00:12:44.38\00:12:47.40 precisely because it is a relationship 00:12:47.43\00:12:50.88 that transcends anything that can be attained 00:12:50.91\00:12:53.64 through the typical symbolic systems 00:12:53.67\00:12:55.92 of the Hebrew economy and the sacrificial service. 00:12:55.95\00:13:00.21 We have to be careful Ty. 00:13:00.24\00:13:01.32 When you advocate a book, a Bible book, 00:13:01.35\00:13:05.22 or anything as better, as superior, as stronger, 00:13:05.25\00:13:09.04 we want to be careful that we don't come across 00:13:09.07\00:13:11.09 as being a hardy and I don't think 00:13:11.12\00:13:13.83 that's what the idea is here with Paul 00:13:13.86\00:13:15.68 or even with our emphasis. 00:13:15.71\00:13:17.23 The point here is this world 00:13:17.26\00:13:19.14 is full of pain and sorrow and misery. 00:13:19.17\00:13:21.71 And God has something better. 00:13:21.74\00:13:22.83 He had something better for you. He had something better for us. 00:13:22.86\00:13:25.38 Something that is superior to the evil and the suffering 00:13:25.41\00:13:28.66 that we experience in this present world. Amen. 00:13:28.69\00:13:30.76 Let's just move through the better things 00:13:30.79\00:13:33.90 that Paul delineates through the Book of Hebrews 00:13:33.93\00:13:36.25 because this is kind of overview as we launch in 00:13:36.28\00:13:38.56 to our study of the Book chapter by chapter. 00:13:38.59\00:13:41.52 In Hebrews 1:4 for example, "Paul uses the word "better" 00:13:41.55\00:13:46.53 for the first time, and he says that Jesus is better 00:13:46.56\00:13:49.49 than the angels which is just gonna come alive 00:13:49.52\00:13:51.97 in a future study." 00:13:52.00\00:13:53.56 In Chapter 6:9, "There are better things, 00:13:53.59\00:13:56.89 superior things that accompany salvation." 00:13:56.92\00:13:59.47 In 7:7, "The Melchizedek priesthood 00:13:59.50\00:14:03.12 of which Jesus is the fulfillment 00:14:03.15\00:14:04.90 is better than the Levitical priesthood. 00:14:04.93\00:14:07.41 So Jesus is the superior high priest." 00:14:07.44\00:14:09.80 In Chapter 7:19. 00:14:09.83\00:14:12.86 "There is a better hope by which we can draw near to God." 00:14:12.89\00:14:17.06 In verse 22 of Chapter 7. 00:14:17.09\00:14:19.05 "There is a better covenant, a superior covenant." 00:14:19.08\00:14:22.34 In Chapter 8:6, "There is a mediator 00:14:22.37\00:14:26.28 of a better covenant." 00:14:26.31\00:14:28.02 In Chapter 9:23, "There is a better sacrifice, 00:14:28.05\00:14:32.25 even the Lord Jesus Christ." 00:14:32.28\00:14:34.06 Chapter 10:34, "There is a better 00:14:34.09\00:14:36.89 and more enduring possession." 00:14:36.92\00:14:38.92 Chapter 11:16, "A better, even in heavenly country or city." 00:14:38.95\00:14:44.21 Amen. Chapter 11:35. 00:14:44.24\00:14:46.83 "There is a better resurrection through Jesus." 00:14:46.86\00:14:50.16 In verse 40, "There is just something better, 00:14:50.19\00:14:52.99 a better experience through Jesus 00:14:53.02\00:14:55.07 for all who come to him." 00:14:55.10\00:14:56.70 In Chapter 13:12, "There is a mediator 00:14:56.73\00:15:00.85 of the better covenant," repeated again. 00:15:00.88\00:15:03.06 And in verse 24, finally Paul summarizes 00:15:03.09\00:15:05.87 all this better stuff by saying 00:15:05.90\00:15:07.49 there are better things, my friends, 00:15:07.52\00:15:09.91 better things through the Lord Jesus Christ 00:15:09.94\00:15:13.00 than is available apart from him. 00:15:13.03\00:15:15.20 Let's take a break and we'll be right back. 00:15:15.23\00:15:16.99
