around chasing blessings.

But he says, if

and keep my statutes,
the blessings of the Lord

caution for us to embrace

Now godliness with contentment
is what is great game.

Now again, I want to be clear.

I'm not saying that money
is evil or having is wrong,

but notice that the Bible
says it is the love of money

that is the root of all evil.

And one of the things I
simply want to encourage us

to do is to move
away from the place

where we're where
wealth is, our metric

for success, happiness,
peace and contentment.

CHURCH In other words,
what I simply want to encourage

the church to do is to make
sure we chase God more than we

chase things.

And this is the formula.

If you chase God, you
will never lack things.

And what I want to
say to some young person

is, I don't want you
to chase possessions.

I want you to
chase your purpose.

And when you find your
purpose, guess what possessions

and things are
going to find you.

You see, reason Joe
was able to possess things

was because he was
possessed by the Spirit

more than he was
possessed by things.

And let me just say this,

because I'm using this word
being possessed intentionally.

Because when we think
about being possessed,

what do we think about?

We think about demons.

We think about the
seven sons of Shiva

who are attacked
by a man possessed

by a hostile, evil spirit

who overwhelmed
them and beat them down

and bring them out naked.

When we think
about being possessed,

we think about
the man at the gate

who reads, who could not be
held with a feather or chain.

When we think about
somebody being possessed,

and he found at the mouth.

And the reason we think
about possession in this way

is because we realize
that there can be a power

that controls
your words, your minds,

your movements
and your priorities.

Why am I saying that?

Because I
believe that in our time,

one of the

things the devil is going
to operate in is misdirection.

And he knows

that some of us are on guard
for that type of possession.

In other words, we can see
that type of darkness coming.

So we're not going to allow

possessed in that way.

of us are not possessed

possessed by an iPhone.

controlled by a spirit,

if your praise meter

is always in harmony
with the abundance of things,

there is something
fundamentally wrong in the way

Because the truth is,

no matter how much I possess
or how much I don't have,

the truth is that God is
still worthy to be praise.

to declare that the exorcism
that needs to take place

be the calling out of a spirit

But what we need
to be loosed from

is the spirit of comparison.

We need to be free from
the spirit of competing.

the spirit of trying to have.

Some of us need to be free
from the spirit of materialism.

spirit of materialism

say one thing, quick thing,

quick is that it is bad theology

to blame every bad thing on God.

I need you know, that that
is a bad approach to things.

So so that when you look
at when the one servant came

to tell him about what happened
to some of his possessions.

Notice what he said.

Now, remember, we
know the behind the scenes

that Satan comes and seeks out
permission to bring harm to Joe.

So the attack
does not come from God?

No. This speaks to the
magnitude of Job's faith.

Because notice what he says.

It says The fire of
who fell on the things.

The Bible says the
fire of God fell upon them.

But understand,

a part of Satan's deception
is to get you to believe

that God is
responsible for his handiwork.

So I need you to know that there
is something wrong with us.

See, one of the things that's
wrong with us is because we have

is that we have to find a
reason for every bad thing.

And so what we tend to
do by nature in it is what

literally what kind of caused
jobs, friends to go straight,

you know, really,
they were good at first

and first they just
came sat down and shut up.

And can I say, when
somebody is grieving,

sometimes it's okay to
come without a solution,

a word of encouragement,
an answer to every problem.

Sometimes the
best thing you can do

is just come sit down
and be present in Jesus name

and let your presence be.

Provide the comfort.

But notice where they messed up
is they had to have a solution.

So essentially what
they say to Joe, man, you,

to have done something wrong

for all this stuff
to be happening to you.

And in other words, there's
always a need to assess blame.

somebody to understand
fundamentally about God.

the thief comes

to steal to kill.

And what?

But Jesus says, I have come.

That they might have
life and life more abundantly.

Let me be true clear.

There are some
things that God allows.

But those are not
things that He intends.

bad thing that happens to you.

It is not the
curse or the judgment

or the punishment of God.

The truth is,

we're going to
have some hardships

some difficulties simply
because there is an enemy

have been holding against God.

And you assume that God said
certain things as punishment.

When the truth is
all, trouble is not earned.

Some trouble is just inherited.

that as descendants

receive an inheritance

be mad at somebody
