what the doctor says.

They don't sit around
with the probabilities

and say, I'm
going to be one of them.

They have made it up
in their mind that they in

Christ are going to be
the exceptions to the rule.

Now, now, I
need you to get this,

because these
men literally carry

around in their
body a death sentence

like that, real
talk whenever they look

at this, this disorder
progressing on their skin.

And to be clear, leprosy
is not a disorder of the skin.

It is.

And a trap

attack on the nerve trucks
that shows up on the skin.

But every time

they see this disorder
progressing, it is a remind

that death is
imminent and certain for them.

And see, I understand
that different cultures

had different ways that
they dealt with leprosy.
00:01:53.07\00:01:54.74
It's crazy because
in the Jewish culture
00:01:55.68\00:01:57.01
they essentially put
you on the outskirts of town
00:01:58.01\00:02:00.28
and they made you
socially distanced
00:02:01.15\00:02:03.08
and you literally
00:02:03.59\00:02:04.65
had to announce to
everybody that you were unclean.

But see, the thing about leprosy
is that it had no vaccine
00:02:09.02\00:02:12.16
and it had no cure.
00:02:12.69\00:02:14.50
And leprosy had a
ring of permanence to it.

In other words, until
Jesus, it was all the way back
00:02:19.87\00:02:23.37
to naming the Serian
that anybody got healed

of leprosy and see because
nobody ever came back from it
00:02:27.04\00:02:32.95
and informed how the
cultures dealt with it.

Do you realize that there
00:02:37.75\00:02:38.75
are certain cultures,
00:02:38.79\00:02:39.69
not just not
necessarily the Jewish culture,

but some of the ancient cultures
have made this permanent way

of dealing with folks
who are dealing with leprosy.

So that what would
happen is crazy that if you were

caught, are deemed
as one full of leprosy.

Not only would they
send you into a leper colony

before you went.

They would make
you dig your own grave.

They would allow you to receive

the equivalent of last
rites while you're still alive.

And while you're still alive.

What they would do is
they will eulogize you.

Your family would
give reflections about you.

And what would happen
is you would experience

your own funeral

while you were still alive.

In other words,
because nobody came back

from leprosy, they
treated you like you were dead

even while you still had breath.

And can I suggest today that
emotionally and spiritually,

this is where some of us are
with some of the circumstances

that we are in,

because some of us
have come to the conclusion

that there ain't no coming back.

From what I mean,

there are some of us
that have a lepers mentality

and that we are burying things
00:04:00.84\00:04:02.90
that still have life in it.

You are digging
a grave for things

that still have the
possibility to resume.

And can I suggest that
maybe somebody is burying

a marriage

that still has life in it?

Maybe somebody is
burying an academic career

because you've got
bad grades to this point

and maybe it's
still got some life in it.

Maybe there is
somebody who's gone so far

spiritually that you
think I can never return.

And I can never get back
from where I've come from.

Maybe there is somebody
that has done so much wrong

that you feel like there
is ultimately no hope for you

in God.

And the word that I need
somebody to know today is that

you should never
just accept your fate.

Now, I want to be clear.

I'm not turning
around everybody up.

But the truth is,
there are some of us.

And there going to be times

where you have to accept
certain things as God's will,

and you got to pray
for grace to endure it.

But there are certain things

that are not
necessarily God's will.

They're just
temporary situations or passing

predicaments that to
be accepted as permanent.

give me the language.

I need somebody to know
there are some things that are

passing by
because it passes slowly.

You've assumed it was.

I need you to know

there are certain things
that did not come to stay.

There are some things
that have come to pass,

but you cannot accept
certain things as permanence.

In other words, if
God didn't see the thing

I like about these lepers

is they understand
what the doctors have said.

But what they've

simply concluded is that
Jehovah has the final say.

And let me be clear that
I'm not anti medicine or doctor.

They are great
people that simply assess

what the instruments tell us.

In fact,
sometimes they can assess

and predict things
with a a haunting accuracy.

But I need you to understand
that no matter how bad

your predicament,
I need somebody to

understand that it's not over

until God says it's over.

I'm trying to wake up
the dead in this room today.

I need somebody to
know that the final say

done rests with your
naysayers, with your haters,

God has the final say

over everything that
happens in your life.

I mean, real taught me
I'm recently I was just in in

the country of Panama preaching.

And I was talking to a brother

who was dealing
with some sickness there.

He had a very
particular type of cancer.
00:07:11.13\00:07:13.96
And it's crazy
because the doctors told him
00:07:14.00\00:07:16.16
that without chemotherapy,
he would only have about six
00:07:17.33\00:07:20.04
months to live.
00:07:20.07\00:07:20.67
And if he took treatment,
00:07:20.70\00:07:22.34
he would live
00:07:22.37\00:07:23.51
maybe up to two or three
years if everything went well.
00:07:23.54\00:07:26.64
I need you to know that that
brother got down on his knees.

That brother did his
therapy in treatment.

He began to take his
health very seriously.

And I need you to know
that brother is still here.

That diagnosis was 15 years ago,

but he is still here

because God has the final say.

I see the problem.

I want to say with somebody
is you need to stop doing more.

You should do less
statistics and probabilities

on the promises of God.

Because if you're going to
be the exception to the rule,

know what the answer is.

You just got to
find out what X is.

that Jesus is the X factor?

Jesus in the slot,

he'll get you what you need.

So if you need hope,

If you need strength,

The third thing

I like about these lepers

is that they make their requests

known to Jesus Christ.

Now, I know this is
not high theology, right?

But the one good thing I
like about these brothers

is they say, man, we
got to get this matter
00:10:06.17\00:10:09.34
before the Lord who is
in control of everything.
00:10:10.34\00:10:13.04
They make their
request known to him.
00:10:13.94\00:10:16.04
They kill Jesus
all about the problem
00:10:16.08\00:10:19.11
and see what they have
come to understand is that you
00:10:20.25\00:10:22.72
can't get divine aid from
00:10:22.75\00:10:26.02
a human construct.

They've come

to this important conclusion

that their life will only be

as miraculous as
their prayerful ness.

Your life will
only be as miraculous

Now, the problem
with us, the reason y'all,

you grit your
teeth when I say that,

is because we are this
self-sufficient, independent,

educated, autonomous
from God behaving people

that lean on our own
logic and our human devices.

And the problem is,
we got too much hustle

and we got too many schemes
00:11:08.93\00:11:10.27
and we've got
00:11:10.30\00:11:11.50
too many contingency plans
for if God doesn't come through.

But I need somebody to
be clear that your life will

only be as miraculous
as your prayer fullness.

So the Lord gave me
this revelation this week.

He told me that
we're going to respond

just like y'all
are responding now.

And what God showed me is
that what you're thinking is

the reason, like they
could take it to Jesus with

because Jesus was
right there on earth.

In other words,

I tell Jesus if he was

But this is my question today

is the Jesus

who sits at the
right hand of God

less powerful

than the Jesus that walked
the dusty roads of Galilee?

Oh, your God is
the one who ever lives

to make intercede
destined for us, less powerful

than the one who declared
so yourselves to the priest

because we think that those

that saw him in person
had an advantage over us.

is that we've got more access.

Oh, not most of it

you can't be praying about it

there are some of us today

worrying about the marriage,

praying about the marriage.

There are some of
us that have spent

all kinds of time being anxious
about financially clearing,

but we have not prayed
about financially clearing.

I see the crazy thing is that

we've taken the
issue to our cousin.

We've taken it to our parents.

Some of us have taken
the issue to the bottle.

Some of us have taken
it to our congressmen.

We've taken it to
everybody but Jesus.

And I just want to just kind
of resurrect the belief to know

that when you
pray there is power

and see, the
