that there is
something wrong in your life.

life can be explained.

know that when God is at work

The truth is that
there are some of us

that have had more money

than money, and the
math just was not my thing.

And you can tell the truth

that you don't even know
how you made it financially.

And the truth

is, when you try to explain
it, you can't explain it.

There are some students
that can't explain how you pass

certain classes or how
you graduated from school.

that can't explain

how you made it out
of certain car accidents

and how you
avoided certain wrecks.

There are some married couples,
after all you've been through.

You can't even explain how
you made it together this long.

And the truth is that when
you look back over your life,

you can't explain how everything
that God did got done.

You just know that it was
God that did it and brought it

to pass.

And see the truth is church.

My prayer today is that you
would lead with the conviction

that God is still in the
miracle working business.

And this is the issue
because there are some of us

that live with this
impending sense of doom,

because we can't see
beyond our own capability.

There are some
that are in distress
00:07:38.32\00:07:40.06
because you can't see
beyond your bank account.

Some can't see beyond
the medical prognosis.
00:07:44.76\00:07:47.66
Some can't see
00:07:48.10\00:07:49.23
beyond their own ability
to weep their way through it.

And we are overwhelmed
because we can't see beyond
00:07:54.30\00:07:57.37
our personal capacity
to be able to handle it.

And the word today
is that no Christian
00:08:02.54\00:08:04.61
should live without
a sense of the divine.
00:08:05.58\00:08:08.15
And see, the problem
is, we're more dependent
00:08:09.08\00:08:11.12
on medicine than the Messiah.
00:08:11.15\00:08:13.69
We're more dependent
upon science than the Savior.
00:08:14.79\00:08:18.09
We are more trusting,
more to government than to God.
00:08:19.19\00:08:22.03
The truth is that we
assess more than we pray,
00:08:23.06\00:08:26.00
and we rehearse the problem
00:08:26.67\00:08:28.30
more than we
rehearse the promises of God.
00:08:29.27\00:08:31.51
And it is no wonder
00:08:32.04\00:08:33.17
that we are so often
discouraged and overwhelmed.

But I need to
remind somebody today

that no matter how
bad your situation is,

it doesn't matter how
dire the circumstance.

Do I have a witness
that when Jesus steps in,

that situation is
destined to change?

I need somebody to
know that when God steps in,

the normal
rules no longer apply.

In other words, how many
of us know that in the natural

when you touch a sick person,
you're supposed to get sick?

But when Jesus
touched a sick person,

the sick person
got well in the natural
00:09:12.45\00:09:15.85
two fish and five
loaves feeds about six people.

But with Jesus, two
fish in five feeds, 5000.

In this world, you've
got to ride out a storm

and wait for it to pass.

But when Jesus spoke, the
winds and waves obeyed him
00:09:28.23\00:09:32.00
and the natural
00:09:32.43\00:09:33.57
you've got to go to a bank
to get money for your bills.

But Jesus opened
a fish his mouth,
00:09:37.51\00:09:39.54
and paid the taxes
for everyone in sight.

And the natural.
00:09:43.18\00:09:44.18
You need a bomb to
knock down fortified walls.

But with God, all the
people had to do a shout.

And the walls
came tumbling down.

And the word to somebody today
is that you've got to leave room

for the miraculous.

You've got to leave
space for the supernatural

and know that with God,
the normal rules don't apply.

need you to get that

the implications of
this story are more powerful

In fact, the Bible says
that Jesus in this moment

is on the way to Jerusalem.

And notice that the
Bible says that he passed

through the mist of
Samarra and Galilee.

Now, a more appropriate
translation reads that

he travels between the
border of Samarra and Galilee.

In other words, in this
moment, Jesus is not on a major

thoroughfare through town,
but Jesus is in rural terrain.

Jesus is out
there in the outskirts.

Jesus is
ministering in the sticks.

He is in the wilderness.

When Leviticus 13
and 46 says that lepers
00:11:24.61\00:11:29.28
are supposed to dwell
because of their unclean ness.
00:11:29.32\00:11:33.39
And so, as I considered these
lepers, there were three things

I think that are noteworthy
for our consideration today.

The first thing I
like about these lepers

is that they have an
urgency about their opportunity.

Let me say it again.

The thing I like
about these lepers

is they've got an
urgency about their opportunity.

In other words, friends,
did you notice that once

Jesus enters into their
village there is no cool,

calm and collected
about their approach?

In fact, the
Bible makes it clear

that as he enters into a village
and we believe the village
00:12:15.13\00:12:18.10
was one in Galilee,
for the Bible says that
00:12:18.13\00:12:21.40
nine of the lepers were Jews,
but only one was a Samaritan.
00:12:21.44\00:12:27.18
And the Bible says, friends,
that they came up to me, can.
00:12:28.41\00:12:32.98
In other words, when
the Bible says they met him.
00:12:33.01\00:12:36.28
It is to suggest that
they are anticipating him.
00:12:37.29\00:12:40.42
It is to suggest that
they were waiting for him.
00:12:41.42\00:12:44.63
It is to suggest
that they were hoping
00:12:45.53\00:12:48.00
that Jesus would pass
their way and notice friends,
00:12:48.03\00:12:52.30
that when Jesus shows up,
they don't let him go and got to
00:12:52.33\00:12:56.37
the house and get his feet
washed and get something to eat.

But the Bible says that
they stand off from a distance

and they cry out
with desperation.
00:13:05.18\00:13:07.45
Master, with you
have mercy upon us.

Now I need you to get

that there are two principles
that drive this urgency.

The first reason they
are urgent is they understand

the pain of missed opportunity.

Well, what do you mean
when you say missed opportunity?

Friends of mine

that when you go back
and read Matthew Chapter 13,

the story is told of Jesus first

return to his
home, Land of Galilee.

And you remember when Jesus
first went back to Galilee,
00:13:44.95\00:13:47.96
their
familiarity with him bread.
00:13:48.76\00:13:51.73
A contempt that ultimately
nullified their faith.
00:13:51.76\00:13:56.06
In fact, they say it is
not this the carpenter's son.
00:13:57.13\00:14:01.10
And they said his
mother and brothers are with us
00:14:02.10\00:14:05.04
to this day.
00:14:05.07\00:14:06.37
And the Bible
says that he did not do
00:14:06.41\00:14:09.94
many miracles there
because of their unbelief.

And scholars and
Ellen White agree

that there is some
in this lepers group
00:14:18.35\00:14:20.39
that have been
00:14:20.82\00:14:21.89
dealing with this
disease because they missed out
00:14:21.92\00:14:25.43
on the last time
that Jesus showed up
00:14:25.46\00:14:28.80
in their area to bring
healing to their terrain.
00:14:28.83\00:14:32.87
And it's crazy because they've
been living with this disease
00:14:34.14\00:14:37.24
because they missed out
on their last opportunity.
00:14:38.34\00:14:40.81
And this powerful mom,
because now when Jesus shows up,

they meet him with
a high anticipation.

They show up with a
deliver it expectation.

In fact, they see his
presence as an act of mercy.

They see his
return as an act of grace.

They see him coming
back as a sign that Jesus
00:15:02.50\00:15:05.87
has given them another chance.

I just have a question today.

Do I have at least seven or
eight folks that are grateful

that Jesus doesn't
just give you one chance?

But are we grateful that He's

See, we used to say he's
the God of a second chance.

But the problem is, some
of us use our second chance

a long time ago.

because there is somebody

that is in a season
where you thought that a door

that would be closed forever,
it is about to open up again.

There is somebody who's
been in a season of correction

and the word to somebody
today is that when God gives you

another chance, don't
squander your next chance.

In other words,
when God opens up

another door, don't
squander your opportunity.

The truth is
that there is somebody

that has come through
some things with you on health

and in your body, and God
has given you another chance.

And when God gives you another
chance, you better take care of

There is some husband today
whose wife is going to give you

another chance
to re win her heart.

There is somebody
whose parents made it through

that medical procedure,
and God gave you another chance

to reconcile with your parents
before they leave this earth.

Don't mess up your next chance.

There is somebody today that
had a scare with their kids,

and it was a sign to give
them more time and attention.
