week we're dealing with Moses

for the last couple of weeks
that he's putting up excuses.

First week, he says, Who am
I that I should go to Pharaoh.

Last week you said,
They won't believe me,
00:00:41.87\00:00:43.10
but there are still
some excuses that God
00:00:43.97\00:00:46.21
has to help him
process with faith.
00:00:47.01\00:00:48.94
Furthermore, the
Lord said to him,
00:00:49.78\00:00:52.41
Now put your hand in your bosom.
00:00:53.11\00:00:55.18
And He put His
hand in his bosom.
00:00:56.22\00:00:58.49
And when he took it out,

behold, his hand
was leprous, like snow.

And he say, Put your
hand in your bosom again.

a powerful phenomena

that occurs in the body

whenever a bone
suffers a break or a fracture.

Whenever a bone is broken,
it goes through three phases.
00:05:06.20\00:05:10.17
First,
00:05:10.47\00:05:11.67
there is the inflammatory phase
where there is much swelling.
00:05:11.71\00:05:14.71
Second, there is
the reparative phase.
00:05:15.61\00:05:18.05
And third, there is
the remodeling phase.

But there is something
very powerful that happens

in that second
or reparative phase.

What the body does is
it sends a an abundant

calcium supply to
the area of the break,

and it forms what
is called a callus.

And for a short while,
00:05:38.67\00:05:40.07
that bone is stronger
in the healing process

than it was before
the break ever took place.

It is as if the body set
up compensation for the broken

and got sins extra to the weak
to make the weak part strong.

In other words, God is
the one who supplies for that,

and God set it up to
make up the difference.

And friends, this
medical phenomenon

is simply a role
playing for a spiritual truth

for God doesn't
just call perfect people.

How many of us know
that God calls broken people

and the Scripture is
clear that God says, I'm
00:06:19.37\00:06:22.21
going to allow my strength to be
made perfect in your weakness,

so that if you're willing,
God will send such a radical

deposit to the
area of your brokenness.

He'll send area extra to
the area of your weakness

so that your weakness begins
to operate like a strength

because you serve the God
that make up the difference.

You serve the God that
supplies what you lack.

And this is critical
for those on the excuse list

journey, because too
often we point to our lack

as a reason why we cannot
grow and why we cannot progress.

But I need you to know

that you serve the God
that makes up the difference.

In other words, church

God will send such a
strong anointing and favor

that your deficit
becomes a surplus.

If you're willing, God
will turn your financial

lack into financial abundance.

God will operate in your fears

and give a favor that is
greater than your phobias.

God will take the
enemies who are against you

and make them the footstool

looking at what you don't have.

focusing on what you don't have.

recognize that you serve the God

today is filled with some
very simple lessons of faith.

But the first thing it teaches
is that if you ask God to speak,

you've got to
be willing to hear.

Let me say it again

that don't ask
the Lord to speak.

If you're not willing to hear.

In other words, I
want to just lay this out

before you ask the
Lord to show you something.

Ask the Lord for eyes to
see what He's going to show you

before you ask
the Lord to speak.

Pray for ears to hear
what the Spirit is about

to say to the Church.

Because I am
convinced that our primary issue

is not the ability to
hear what God is saying.

Our struggle is to be able to
abide with what God is saying.

And friends, as you
look at this conversation

unfold, what
becomes clear is that Moses
00:09:04.14\00:09:07.41
does not have a lack of clarity
about what God is saying.
00:09:07.44\00:09:12.11
He's simply struggling to
abide with what God has said.
00:09:13.25\00:09:16.55
And see, often it is the case
where some will say, Pastor,
00:09:17.79\00:09:20.46
the Lord will have
to come down himself
00:09:21.36\00:09:23.29
and tell me to do X, Y and Z.
00:09:23.99\00:09:26.39
But the truth is, this is
exactly what has happened.
00:09:27.50\00:09:30.03
God has come
down and given signs.
00:09:30.87\00:09:33.17
And yet Moses steals drives
against the wheel of his maker.
00:09:34.37\00:09:38.04
And what I'm learning, church,
is that it doesn't matter
00:09:39.24\00:09:41.21
how powerfully
God reveals something.
00:09:41.24\00:09:45.45
If I'm not open to
hearing what He's saying,
00:09:45.48\00:09:48.82
I will
misinterpret the will of God.

In other words, could
God make this any clearer?

I mean, look at this thing.

God shows up in a bush
that cannot be consumed.

God doesn't

speak through the stills,
small voice of the spirit.

He speaks in audible tones

that can be heard
with the ears of Moses.

He's in a place
where he drops the rod

and it becomes a serpent.

He picks up those
serpent and it becomes a rod.

He puts his hand in its
bosom and it becomes leprous.

And when he puts it in
again, it becomes very keeled.

And I need somebody to
understand that the issue

is not his ability to
hear what God is saying.

His issue is his
unwillingness to abide

has infallible proofs,

he still comes to
God with another excuse

about not being able to talk.

Church as the as
we stated in the book,

one of the most
dangerously spiritual

things a believer can
do is have a made up mind,

not. I know that
feels like heresy to some
00:10:58.15\00:11:01.06
because you've
00:11:01.49\00:11:02.56
been told your whole
life to have a made up mind.

But it is
dangerous when you've created

a spiritual lead
on your thinking,

because there is
something about us
00:11:11.60\00:11:12.77
as humans where it's dangerous
when you choose the path.

When you create your own script.

When you are the
narrator of your own purpose.

And how many of us
know I'm telling the truth?

That when I
script it one way, it's

hard for me to see it
unfold in a different way.

And see, that's
the problem with Moses.

He had already
made up in his mind

that he was never
going back to Egypt.

He made up in his mind that
he was going to live in Midian,
00:11:41.43\00:11:44.20
that he would die in Midian,
that he would never depart
00:11:45.37\00:11:48.37
from Midian.
00:11:48.40\00:11:49.57
And the reason
he's resisting the plan
00:11:49.60\00:11:53.07
was because he
did not construct it.

You see, this is
our era of church.

Often times we
will choose a path

and then pray for guidance.

We will choose a path

and then say, Lord,
show me where to go and see.

The problem with that
approach is that at that point,

when you are
already choosing the road,

you are not asking
the Lord for revelation.

You are simply seeking
the Lord for a confirmation.

what I've already decided

we invert the order.

based upon our preference.

where we make up our minds
based on what's convenient.

on your spiritual convictions

and the church, there are times
where our world is imploding.

We're making our decisions
come to a marvelous ruin,

where we are being buffeted by
the choices of our own making.

And what happens is when
our world begins to collapse.

We get to a place
where we cry out to the Lord

and we wonder why
God is not speaking.

We are stressed
because God is not talking.

But what I've
learned the hard way

is that the only
time God stops speaking

is when we stop listening.

that the greatest key for being
able to hear the Word of God.

It is not necessarily
your moral perfection.

your ardent, prayerful ness.

the primary trait of being able

maintain an open ness

This is not the
day got called Moses.

This was simply the
day God cornered Moses.

It was a day
where he simply left.

There is no escape route.

shoots all of Moses excuses.

are kind of thinking that maybe
God right now is calling me.

since you were born.

is simply where
God is cornering you.

this is critical,
