departed again to Galilee.

to go through what Samaria?

Samaria, which is called Sekar,

Now, Jacob's well was
there, and Jesus, therefore,

subject, the need to modify.

You know, in
Proverbs 27, in verse 12,

the Bible says
that the wise see danger
00:05:09.27\00:05:14.01
and take cover,
00:05:14.04\00:05:16.68
but fools press on
00:05:16.71\00:05:18.95
and pay the penalty.
00:05:18.98\00:05:22.25
And, you know,
family, one of the understated
00:05:22.28\00:05:24.75
skills in life is the willing
need, the willingness to adapt,
00:05:24.79\00:05:29.46
adjust and amend our course.
00:05:29.49\00:05:32.93
And this is especially
true in a relationship world,

for there are times
where God reveals the truth
00:05:37.27\00:05:39.93
about a person, a situation
or yourself, and there are times
00:05:39.97\00:05:44.77
we don't handle that
information very well.
00:05:44.81\00:05:48.08
You see, when you lack
relational intelligence,
00:05:48.11\00:05:51.35
you will make a
decision without information
00:05:51.38\00:05:54.88
or you will stand
00:05:54.92\00:05:55.85
by that decision
00:05:55.88\00:05:57.02
regardless of the
information you have received.
00:05:57.05\00:06:00.59
And sometimes we will put
hope in the place of judgment,

preference in the
place of principle.

And one of the things
that saves you great praying

is the willingness to
adjust and change course

based upon the truth
that has been revealed.

And so there are times where
we'll make it up in our minds
00:06:18.24\00:06:21.44
that he or she is the one
00:06:21.48\00:06:24.58
without a vetting
process to ensure Hart safety.

You see, friends,
true love has a process
00:06:29.52\00:06:33.56
and real love
will never skip steps.

You see, because we are
flawed and we can be deceived,

there are times that we
need to let things play out

before we actually commit.

And to the young, I
need you to not be in a rush

because time
can never kill love.

The only thing that
time harms is infatuation.

times where you need to adjust

based upon the information
that has been revealed.

modify based upon the truth.

that you cannot be too loyal
to your price, your preference.

You can't be
loyal to your timeline.

You can't be loyal because it

Never be too
loyal to your mistakes.

And the reason we wind
up heartbreaking is that we

are too loyal to the
mistakes that we have made.

it's okay every now

and then to admit that
he was a mistake, to admit

that she was a mistake, to
admit that that was a mistake.

In fact, there are two
types of people relationally.

Some come to be a blessing.

Others come to be a
lesson you'll not hear me today.

In other words, there
are blessings and lessons

and you got to make sure
you commit to your blessings,

but just learn from the
lessons so you are hearing

the pastor today
and see there are times

where God can't grow you
until you begin to modify.

He can't bless you
unless you're willing to upgrade

and not be too loyal or
stagnant in your thinking.

In fact, Apple kind
of does this for us.

How many of us know that
when you have an Apple device

or a phone,

it requires you to constantly
upgrade your software?

And if you don't upgrade
00:08:27.04\00:08:28.84
your software after a while,
the apps will stop launching,

your RAM will get taken up,
00:08:33.27\00:08:34.81
your computer
will stop slowing down,

and it only way it'll
work is you begin to upgrade

your software.

And what Apple does is they
force you to grow or to change.

And I guess what
I'm saying, friends,

is that if you will allow
Apple to require you to upgrade,

why don't you allow Jesus

to allow your software
upgrade so that you can receive

everything that
God has in store?

that as he gets ready to
go, the word says that he needed

to go through Samaria.

Now, friends, I need you
to know that our text today

is filled with powerful
truth and rich principle.

But one of the first thing
it teaches is that sometimes

God can't save until
He gets you by yourself.

No, no, let me say
it on the other side

that sometimes God
can't save in a relationship.
00:09:40.64\00:09:44.51
Sometimes God can't
save until he gets you alone.
00:09:44.55\00:09:48.52
Not now. Hear me.

When I say this,
because now I'm here.
00:09:49.45\00:09:51.89
The word says that Jesus
needed to go through Samaria.
00:09:51.92\00:09:56.96
And other words,
Jesus knows exactly
00:09:56.99\00:09:59.69
where He's going and
exactly who he's trying to see.
00:10:00.83\00:10:04.00
And the words say is
that he winds up there
00:10:04.03\00:10:06.57
about the sixth hour,
which is noon, and please know
00:10:06.60\00:10:10.61
those details are
not wasted for no reason.

You see around the
sixth hour, it's about the 12
00:10:14.24\00:10:17.41
when the heat is
beginning to peak
00:10:17.45\00:10:19.75
and the temperature
is reaching its climax.
00:10:20.68\00:10:23.15
And understand that culturally
at that time, most women,
00:10:23.18\00:10:27.02
because drawing
water was labor intensive,
00:10:27.06\00:10:29.52
you would go to draw water
either early in the morning
00:10:29.56\00:10:33.50
or late in the evening to avoid
the temperature at that time.
00:10:34.73\00:10:38.20
So that if somebody was
going to the well at noon,
00:10:38.23\00:10:41.84
it was probably because
they wanted to avoid the crowd.
00:10:41.87\00:10:46.24
If somebody went at noon, it's
because they wanted to avoid
00:10:46.27\00:10:50.65
surface conversation.
00:10:51.21\00:10:52.61
If they went at noon, it's
because they wanted to avoid the
00:10:52.65\00:10:56.15
questions from the community.
00:10:56.18\00:10:58.22
If somebody went at noon,

it was because they were
trying to be by themselves.

And please note today,
friends, that Jesus does not

go to her home.

He intentionally
meets her at the well.

And the reason he
does not go to her home

is because the employer is
there will keep her from him.

In other words, in
order to save her, he's

got to get her alone in
order to give her living water.

He's got to get her by herself.

In order for her to adjust
and to receive the invitation,

she's got to be
away from her girls.

She's got to be
away from her friends.

She's got to be
away from her man.
00:11:41.20\00:11:43.60
The only way to get
saved was to get her alone.

And can I suggest
friends of mine that sometimes

your relational or romantic
influences can be so strong

that Jesus has to
get you away from them

in order to get
you connected to Him?

You all act in brand new today.

And other words, I
need you to be clear

that this doesn't apply

to everybody in the
room because some are single,

saved and filled with
the Holy Ghost and Truth.

There are some that God
reaches through a relationship

with a godly person.

But there are some of us, man,
that treat love like an idol.

And God has kept
some people at bay.

He's driven some
folk out of your life.

He's called some
folk to walk away

because the only way

he can get to you is
when you get through with them

I need somebody to know
that God has literally sabotaged

some stuff, literally, so
that He can get you a loan

where he can have your
underwear voted attention

and see there are some
that don't really believe

I need you to know
that God's greatest

fight, my friends, it is
not against your enemies.

Sometimes his greatest fight
is against your influences.

the wisest man that ever
lived it, was his foreign wives

that turned his
heart away from God.

And even Adam and Eve.

Eve put the fruit above
God, but Adam put Eve above God.

In other words,

he tempted Eve with the fruit,
but he tempted Adam with Eve.

Are you hearing
what I'm saying today?

know that there is a truth

that God wants us to get.

you're able to love God first.

But we get the whole order

that this is
somebody spiritual truth,

because Jesus
does not go to her home

because there was such an
entanglement in her relationship

that that there was
such clutter around her soul,

that the only way
he could reach her

was to get her
away from her man.

And see, this is
somebody spiritual truth,

because God can't

even get an audience with
you because you're so smitten.

He can't even
get any time with you

because you're
always in their DMS.

He can't even get you
on time for you to pray

because you're so enamored
with them or what may happen.

But I need somebody
to know that somewhere

sanctification experience,

sometimes

God has to allow
you to have heartbreak

turn to the hard fix.

So there are times
where God has to allow

some friends to walk away

so that you come to know
there's a friend that stick

closer than a brother.

There are some folk that
have to walk out of your life

so that you come to know

that even when mother and father
forsake you, that God is going

to take you in.

Sometimes it is only in
the fall kindness of people

that you come to know
the faithfulness of Jesus.

So I need to know that sometimes
God allows these things

to play out so that you can know
how faithful God actually is.

somebody to understand

that you never have to choose

between loving God and
being in a relationship.

What you've simply
got to do is prioritize.

ideas that she does know

to communicate a spiritual
truth that she cannot consider.

So Jesus now
meets her at the well.

And it's funny
because it's high noon,

but when you see this woman,
what you'll find is a woman

who's just over it.

We're not giving much
detail about her life.

All we know is her ethnicity,
that she is Samaritan.
00:16:49.94\00:16:53.01
All we know is her
relationship, history,

five husbands and
a live in boyfriend.

And it's crazy
00:16:59.45\00:17:00.58
because if you were to
see this woman, her demeanor

and her disposition
would keep you at a distance.

And I need you to know that

because women married so
young, perhaps around 15,
00:17:08.39\00:17:11.73
even though she's been married
00:17:12.43\00:17:13.19
five times, she
is not an old woman.

She is perhaps in her
late thirties or early forties.
00:17:16.83\00:17:19.00
And so there are still
