They're full belief system. 00:05:21.12\00:05:23.39 But, man, 00:05:23.55\00:05:24.09 they they got enough of a spiritual pulse 00:05:24.49\00:05:26.35 to realize, man, that 00:05:26.55\00:05:27.69 there is something different in this storm right here. 00:05:27.69\00:05:30.69 Now they realize that this one has a different bite 00:05:31.86\00:05:34.20 and a different bean to it. 00:05:34.40\00:05:36.33 They realize that this storm is spiritual in nature. 00:05:36.33\00:05:41.37 And see, the thing I need somebody to give 00:05:41.47\00:05:44.04 is that there is help me, Lord. 00:05:44.04\00:05:46.91 There is a purpose in the storm. 00:05:48.38\00:05:51.88 You see, the storm is not meant to destroy them. 00:05:53.35\00:05:56.38 Are y'all still with me? 00:05:56.38\00:05:57.19 Church 00:05:57.19\00:05:58.09 The storm is meant to intercept them 00:05:58.45\00:06:01.76 and direct them where they're supposed to be. 00:06:02.09\00:06:04.49 Now, remember, Jonah is not fleeing from metaphor. 00:06:04.66\00:06:08.26 He is running from the presence of the Lord 00:06:09.23\00:06:12.40 so that the storm is designed to keep him 00:06:12.87\00:06:16.64 from getting too far. 00:06:16.91\00:06:20.81 The storm is designed 00:06:21.34\00:06:22.61 to keep him from getting too far from God. 00:06:22.61\00:06:26.38 And it's designed to aim him in the direction of God 00:06:26.58\00:06:31.15 and say, I need you to know 00:06:31.79\00:06:32.85 that the storm is designed to tell Jonah something. 00:06:32.85\00:06:36.73 And can I suggest today, friends, 00:06:36.93\00:06:38.79 that there are 00:06:38.79\00:06:39.26 some of us that are in a variety of types of storms? 00:06:39.89\00:06:43.33 You see, there are some of us that are in a storm 00:06:43.50\00:06:45.97 that's designed to teach us that we are going the wrong way. 00:06:46.10\00:06:49.17 Some of us are in a storm that's letting us know 00:06:49.37\00:06:52.01 that our path is off course. 00:06:52.07\00:06:54.08 Some of us are in a storm because we're getting a little 00:06:54.08\00:06:56.91 too far from God. 00:06:56.91\00:06:58.28 Some of us are in a storm because, man, 00:06:58.28\00:07:00.75 our lives have become a little bit too prayer list. 00:07:00.75\00:07:03.28 And sometimes you've got to know 00:07:03.45\00:07:05.35 that the storm has not come to destroy you. 00:07:05.35\00:07:07.92 It's not punishment. It's not judgment. 00:07:08.09\00:07:10.76 It is simply God trying to turn you around. 00:07:10.86\00:07:14.40 Before you get too far from him. 00:07:15.06\00:07:17.50 And so I need you to understand 00:07:17.50\00:07:18.87 that the storm in some ways is God's last resort. 00:07:18.87\00:07:22.50 It is the last barrier to keep you from being destroyed, 00:07:22.70\00:07:26.27 because sometimes God 00:07:27.91\00:07:28.81 says, I couldn't reach you through my Holy Spirit. 00:07:28.98\00:07:31.51 He said, I couldn't reach through through conviction. 00:07:32.81\00:07:35.52 I couldn't reach through through snail sermons. 00:07:36.12\00:07:39.19 I couldn't get to you through your parents. 00:07:39.19\00:07:41.59 I couldn't get to you through godly counsel. 00:07:41.89\00:07:44.49 So the only way I could get to some of you 00:07:44.69\00:07:47.40 is by turning your world upside 00:07:47.50\00:07:50.50 down. 00:07:50.50\00:07:52.87 And it's crazy because the nature of the storm 00:07:54.70\00:07:56.94 in some ways is going to speak to the violation 00:07:57.41\00:08:00.21 that God wants you to avoid 00:08:00.21\00:08:01.91 so that some of us are in a financial storm 00:08:01.91\00:08:04.11 because we've gotten too comfortable robbing God. 00:08:04.95\00:08:07.22 Some of us are in a relational storm 00:08:08.22\00:08:10.55 because the pool of romance is keeping you away from him. 00:08:10.79\00:08:14.46 Some of us are in an emotional storm 00:08:14.99\00:08:17.53 because we've forgotten that the joy of the Lord 00:08:17.69\00:08:19.93 is to be our strength. 00:08:19.93\00:08:21.36 Some of us are in a family storm 00:08:21.36\00:08:23.83 because the family altars have been replaced 00:08:23.97\00:08:26.50 by flat screens and entertainment centers. 00:08:26.50\00:08:29.00 Some of us are in a storm with our children 00:08:29.20\00:08:31.94 to teach us that the screen time should decrease 00:08:32.07\00:08:34.64 and the prayer time should increase. 00:08:34.64\00:08:36.48 I need us to understand that there is a purpose in the storm. 00:08:36.48\00:08:42.62 It is crazy 00:08:43.59\00:08:45.49 because we look at the storm too often as judgment. 00:08:45.49\00:08:48.92 Do you realize that the storm 00:08:50.39\00:08:52.46 is literally God saying, Jonah, 00:08:52.56\00:08:55.10 I won't give you up without a fight? 00:08:55.46\00:08:59.23 It is the way God contends with Jonah. 00:09:00.27\00:09:03.34 It is the way He pulls on Jonah. 00:09:03.51\00:09:05.91 It is the way he preserves Jonah. 00:09:06.07\00:09:08.54 And watch this church online will rejoice with me here. 00:09:08.71\00:09:11.38 But I need you to understand that the curse of God 00:09:11.61\00:09:14.85 is not in the storm. 00:09:14.85\00:09:18.42 I may enjoy this all by myself. 00:09:19.75\00:09:22.46 The curse of God was not in hostile water. 00:09:22.56\00:09:25.36 The curse of God would have been in calm water. 00:09:25.89\00:09:31.73 Because, you know, a calm water would have represented. 00:09:31.73\00:09:35.04 Calm water would have simply meant that God 00:09:35.74\00:09:38.27 had found a replacement for Jonah. 00:09:38.27\00:09:40.58 If the water was calm, it would have simply meant 00:09:41.31\00:09:44.45 that I'm done with Jonah. 00:09:44.45\00:09:46.45 I'm over Jonah. 00:09:46.45\00:09:48.18 I have no need for Jonah. 00:09:48.18\00:09:50.25 I'm going raise somebody up to do what Jonah refused to do. 00:09:50.42\00:09:54.52 And let me pause and say to some of us, never confuse 00:09:54.66\00:09:58.03 God's mercy as you being necessary. 00:09:58.03\00:10:01.10 Beyonce, I said it best. 00:10:01.26\00:10:02.83 Don't you ever get to faking your. 00:10:02.83\00:10:05.70 I see you all the sinners are in the church right now. 00:10:07.17\00:10:09.34 Thank you for revealing yourself. Hey, man. 00:10:09.37\00:10:11.77 See, I need you to know that God doesn't need us. 00:10:11.77\00:10:15.41 Oh, he doesn't need us. 00:10:16.14\00:10:18.21 He wants us. 00:10:18.25\00:10:20.88 In other words, I need you to know 00:10:21.05\00:10:22.72 that when he keeps the water hostile, it's 00:10:22.72\00:10:25.42 because he's still striving with Jonah. 00:10:25.42\00:10:28.16 It's because he's still dealing with Jonah. 00:10:28.36\00:10:31.26 It's because he's saying, I haven't given up on Jonah. 00:10:31.46\00:10:34.73 And I know you don't like to praise God in the storm, 00:10:34.93\00:10:37.97 but the can't be that God has no more use for you. 00:10:38.17\00:10:41.97 It means that God is done with you. 00:10:42.14\00:10:44.47 But can somebody take a moment and say, Lord, I thank you 00:10:44.64\00:10:48.14 for the storm? 00:10:48.38\00:10:49.78 You've got to reinterpret the day. 00:10:49.78\00:10:51.88 You know, 00:10:51.88\00:10:52.35 you've got to reinterpret the information 00:10:52.81\00:10:54.85 because the storm is the evidence that God 00:10:55.05\00:10:57.85 is contending with you, that he's still calling you, 00:10:57.85\00:11:01.79 that he still wants you, that he's still using you. 00:11:02.09\00:11:06.49 I praise God not for calm waters, 00:11:06.76\00:11:10.07 but for seasons of storm 00:11:11.33\00:11:13.57 that drive me back to God. 00:11:14.10\00:11:16.24 Bible says here in Jonah, chapter one and verse ten, 00:11:18.31\00:11:21.08 Can we go back to the book for just a moment? 00:11:21.08\00:11:22.38 I need to see this. 00:11:22.38\00:11:23.58 The Bible says in the man, 00:11:23.58\00:11:25.51 we're suddenly afraid and said to him, 00:11:25.51\00:11:27.58 Why have you done this for? 00:11:27.58\00:11:29.32 The man knew that he fled 00:11:29.32\00:11:30.35 from the presence of the Lord because he told them. 00:11:30.45\00:11:32.82 Then they said to him, What shall we do to you? 00:11:32.82\00:11:35.09 That the sea may become for us. 00:11:35.09\00:11:36.79 For the sea was growing more tempestuous. 00:11:36.79\00:11:38.46 So watch this. 00:11:38.46\00:11:39.56 And he said to them, Are you all looking at this church? 00:11:39.56\00:11:42.26 Pick me up 00:11:43.67\00:11:45.40 and throw me into the sea. 00:11:45.43\00:11:47.64 Then the sea will be calm for you. 00:11:47.64\00:11:49.64 For I know this great tempest is because of me. 00:11:49.64\00:11:52.34 Verse 30 Nevertheless, these men rode hard to return the land, 00:11:52.54\00:11:57.91 but they could not, for the sea continue to grow more 00:11:58.18\00:12:01.58 tempestuous against them. 00:12:01.82\00:12:04.82 Third thing this teach us friends of mine 00:12:06.22\00:12:08.19 is don't let somebody else's drama sink you. 00:12:08.19\00:12:13.60 I told you, I'm going enjoy it if I have to do it 00:12:15.76\00:12:17.90 all by myself. I hear me today. 00:12:17.90\00:12:20.74 Now, that's crazy. 00:12:20.74\00:12:22.24 Church Because this story hanging on life, 00:12:22.24\00:12:25.34 it gets weirder every time I read it. 00:12:25.61\00:12:28.64 Like, I literally read it through 00:12:29.18\00:12:30.55 probably 30 times this week. 00:12:30.55\00:12:32.61 Like the punch line. 00:12:32.61\00:12:33.82 Because there are sequences and there are decisions 00:12:33.82\00:12:36.58 and there are ways of thinking that I just don't understand 00:12:36.72\00:12:39.52 and I do not vibe with. 00:12:39.62\00:12:41.22 In other words, I need you to get this. 00:12:41.22\00:12:42.52 That there, man. 00:12:42.52\00:12:43.26 This this storm has an escalating scale of intensity. 00:12:43.59\00:12:47.40 And it's crazy because they realize 00:12:47.60\00:12:49.56 that it is spiritual in nature, 00:12:49.56\00:12:51.47 but they grow more and more frustrated 00:12:51.47\00:12:53.70 because their spiritual efforts 00:12:53.87\00:12:56.77 are not able to nullify the spiritual storm. 00:12:57.54\00:13:00.54 So literally, they go through man poling, everybody 00:13:00.78\00:13:04.15 to find out who knows a god 00:13:04.31\00:13:06.41 that is powerful enough to stop the song. 00:13:06.41\00:13:08.78 So literally they find Jonah asleep in the belly of the boat. 00:13:08.95\00:13:12.12 They like, do. Why are you still sleeping? 00:13:12.32\00:13:14.29 You downhill living your best life. 00:13:14.29\00:13:15.92 And we are here about to Paris 00:13:15.92\00:13:17.73 and they're like, man, who are you? 00:13:17.73\00:13:19.23 Who we write you from what God's you serve. 00:13:19.23\00:13:21.33 Maybe your God is able to deliver us, man. 00:13:21.46\00:13:24.03 And they implore Jonah to call on His God. 00:13:24.03\00:13:27.20 But, man, you got to catch the absurdity 00:13:27.34\00:13:29.47 that the man of God 00:13:29.64\00:13:31.14 can't pray to God because He is speaking to God. 00:13:31.14\00:13:34.44 In other words, the 00:13:35.94\00:13:37.08 witnessing opportunity after a lifetime is squandered 00:13:37.08\00:13:41.38 because of Jonah's pettiness. 00:13:42.55\00:13:45.32 So they ban Jonah, don't cast the 00:13:45.32\00:13:47.32 and he doesn't confess it first. 00:13:47.32\00:13:48.79 So the Bible says they began casting lots, which is the 00:13:48.79\00:13:54.03 the ancient equivalent of drawing straws. 00:13:54.13\00:13:59.00 Are you hear me 00:13:59.00\00:14:00.34 or flipping coins? 00:14:00.80\00:14:03.17 And the Bible says that the lot falls on Jonah. 00:14:03.74\00:14:08.91 And to his 00:14:08.91\00:14:10.15 credit, at least at some point, Jonah's comes as well. 00:14:10.15\00:14:13.31 What had happened was 00:14:14.02\00:14:16.79 I was supposed to go to Tarsus, 00:14:18.45\00:14:19.75 I mean, to Nineveh, but I refuse. 00:14:19.75\00:14:22.62 I ran from the presence of the Lord any. 00:14:23.26\00:14:25.99 And he raises his hand 00:14:25.99\00:14:28.30 and says, This storm 00:14:28.33\00:14:30.70 is because of me. 00:14:30.70\00:14:33.70 He is forced to confess. 00:14:34.24\00:14:36.27 I bought this drama 00:14:36.87\00:14:39.77 to your boat. 00:14:39.77\00:14:41.48 He say, My chaos is 00:14:41.68\00:14:43.88 the reason you all are about to sink. 00:14:43.88\00:14:46.01 It is crazy. So they were like, okay, 00:14:46.85\00:14:48.98 what do we need to do to you 00:14:49.98\00:14:52.19 so that the storm might get right with us? 00:14:54.49\00:14:56.96 Angle I'll give him some credit cause 00:14:57.69\00:14:59.79 I might have told them something different. 00:15:00.06\00:15:03.57 I might have been like, Man, pray three times, 00:15:03.57\00:15:09.57 click your heels 00:15:09.57\00:15:11.97 and say, Jehovah backwards. 00:15:12.77\00:15:14.04 I hear what I'm saying. 00:15:14.04\00:15:14.88 I mean, but but to why? 00:15:14.88\00:15:16.14 Jonah's like, man, like, if you want it to be okay, 00:15:16.14\00:15:19.61 he says, Throw me over the boat 00:15:19.98\00:15:23.89 now. I don't really know 00:15:25.55\00:15:27.36 kind of what they hear 00:15:27.36\00:15:29.79 and why they're hesitant to do it. 00:15:29.79\00:15:32.39 Maybe, perhaps when you read their prayer 00:15:32.39\00:15:34.93 in chapter one, 00:15:35.10\00:15:36.26 maybe they are afraid of 00:15:36.26\00:15:37.47 God's judgment or what will happen 00:15:37.47\00:15:39.00 if they throw the Prophet of God overboard. 00:15:39.00\00:15:41.44 But the prophet already said, 00:15:42.10\00:15:45.31 If you want to live, 00:15:45.37\00:15:47.38 you better throw me overboard. 00:15:47.38\00:15:49.84 But you notice what happens. 00:15:50.48\00:15:52.08 There is this interesting, misplaced loyalty 00:15:52.08\00:15:54.72 that somehow goes down with the Bible, says that they literally 00:15:54.88\00:15:58.52 instead of throwing Jonah overboard, 00:15:58.62\00:16:00.89 the Bible says that they row even harder and watch this. 00:16:00.99\00:16:05.29 The harder they roll, the more tempestuous, 00:16:05.29\00:16:08.86 the sort the storm actually becomes. 00:16:08.86\00:16:11.73 I don't know what's going through their mind. 00:16:11.90\00:16:13.67 They just like, Yo, Jonah, we got you, man. 00:16:13.67\00:16:16.54 Listen, I need, you know, it's all for one and one for all. 00:16:16.54\00:16:19.77 We need all hands on deck. 00:16:19.91\00:16:21.64 They give everybody an assignment. 00:16:21.64\00:16:23.58 They just like, man, we ride together. 00:16:23.58\00:16:25.65 We are. Y'all hear me? 00:16:25.65\00:16:27.25 He's like, listen, we got to make it together. 00:16:27.25\00:16:29.48 And the Bible says, the harder they row, 00:16:30.35\00:16:32.92 the more intense the storm becomes. 00:16:33.05\00:16:36.06 And your boy, Jonah's over in the corner, like, hey, guys, 00:16:36.22\00:16:41.60 I don't know if y'all know who y'all up against. 00:16:41.60\00:16:43.73 I've tried fighting 00:16:44.97\00:16:46.33 him, and this is why I'm in this predicament right 00:16:46.33\00:16:50.17 now, and I just. 00:16:50.17\00:16:51.37 I don't know. We got to, man, we got to make it together. 00:16:51.37\00:16:54.04 And it's crazy 00:16:54.18\00:16:54.78 cause your boy Jonah's just leaning up 00:16:55.01\00:16:56.28 against the edge of the boat. 00:16:56.28\00:16:58.11 Man They over there, 00:16:58.11\00:16:58.98 man casting off cargo and throwing off imported goods. 00:16:59.25\00:17:02.05 And the storm gets worse. 00:17:02.22\00:17:03.49 And Jonah's just like I told you to throw me overboard. 00:17:03.49\00:17:06.39 They literally take pails, 00:17:06.76\00:17:08.19 and they emptied the boat of water as often as they can. 00:17:08.19\00:17:11.53 And Jonah just over there said, I told you to 00:17:11.63\00:17:13.96 throw me overboard. 00:17:13.96\00:17:15.23 They literally are rolling with all the force they can muster. 00:17:15.23\00:17:18.77 And the storm's intensity is greater than their effort. 00:17:18.83\00:17:22.30 And at some point, Jonah has to put some bass in his voice. 00:17:22.47\00:17:26.01 And it's like, Dude, I told you, you got to throw me overboard. 00:17:26.14\00:17:31.65 Now, notice this, that Jonah, don't 00:17:32.15\00:17:35.78 jump off the boat. 00:17:35.78\00:17:39.09 Jonah, like my mom ain't raised no food, 00:17:41.39\00:17:44.46 ain't jumping off the boat. 00:17:44.46\00:17:46.70 He's saying, You gonna have to throw me over the boat. 00:17:46.70\00:17:50.10 And one of the things Jonah is teaching us is 00:17:50.70\00:17:53.34 that drama will never remove itself. 00:17:53.34\00:17:58.74 That drama ain't going. 00:17:58.74\00:18:00.18 Never go nowhere voluntarily. 00:18:00.18\00:18:02.58 Drama has to be removed. 00:18:02.94\00:18:06.31 Are y'all hearing me today, friends 00:18:06.75\00:18:08.88 and say I need somebody to get that? 00:18:08.88\00:18:10.69 Jonah, in this moment of watching them struggle while not 00:18:10.69\00:18:13.96 removing himself, is illustrating a lesson for us 00:18:13.96\00:18:17.16 because he's saying to them, 00:18:17.33\00:18:18.76 It doesn't matter how hard you work, 00:18:18.76\00:18:20.53 it doesn't matter how hard you row, 00:18:20.53\00:18:22.16 it doesn't matter how much stuff you throw overboard. 00:18:22.16\00:18:24.80 I need you to know the best thing you can do for yourself. 00:18:24.97\00:18:28.44 And the best thing you can do for me is to throw me 00:18:28.67\00:18:32.51 off the boat. 00:18:32.51\00:18:35.51 You see, friends, you know what this shows us? 00:18:35.81\00:18:38.31 It shows us the danger of misplaced loyalty. 00:18:38.31\00:18:42.38 And what happens when 00:18:43.75\00:18:45.19 you develop a savior complex. 00:18:45.19\00:18:47.89 See how many of us understand that saving 00:18:49.12\00:18:51.49 Jonah wasn't their responsibility. 00:18:51.49\00:18:54.03 Saving Jonah was God's responsibility. 00:18:54.73\00:18:58.27 And the best thing they could do for Jonah 00:18:58.57\00:19:01.14 and the welfare of the boat is to muster up 00:19:01.27\00:19:04.67 the courage to throw Jonah overboard. 00:19:04.67\00:19:07.94 Are you are hearing me today? 00:19:07.98\00:19:09.54 And see, 00:19:09.54\00:19:09.91 I need 00:19:09.91\00:19:10.35 somebody to understand that I believe in encouraging people. 00:19:11.15\00:19:14.15 I believe in praying for people. 00:19:14.28\00:19:16.42 I believe in investing in people. 00:19:16.42\00:19:18.55 I believe in Barry Long for people. 00:19:18.69\00:19:20.79 But how many of us know 00:19:20.96\00:19:22.02 that you can't save nobody if your name ain't Jesus 00:19:22.02\00:19:26.46 and your title ain't Christ, you can't save nobody 00:19:26.66\00:19:30.93 that don't want to be saved. 00:19:32.03\00:19:33.57 Are y'all hear me today and see this crazy? 00:19:33.57\00:19:36.04 It's gonna seem like I'm lacking compassion. 00:19:36.04\00:19:38.07 But how many of us are at a place 00:19:38.07\00:19:39.77 where you got your own burdens and you got your own drama, 00:19:39.77\00:19:43.41 and you got so many of your own problems 00:19:43.58\00:19:46.01 that you can't carry your own drama and somebody else is to 00:19:46.21\00:19:50.45 see. This is crazy. 00:19:52.62\00:19:53.69 You know what this is showing us, friends. 00:19:53.69\00:19:55.79 Oh, this is going to be tough. 00:19:55.79\00:19:57.79 I need you to realize 00:19:57.79\00:19:58.79 that most of our drama is not circumstantial. 00:19:58.79\00:20:02.80 It's relational. 00:20:02.80\00:20:04.90 Oh. Oh, 00:20:05.67\00:20:06.57 see, a lot of our drama is not 00:20:07.70\00:20:09.34 brought to us by circumstance. 00:20:09.34\00:20:12.07 A lot of our drama accompanies 00:20:13.04\00:20:15.28 the people 00:20:15.38\00:20:17.35 that we allow in our inner circle and see what God will do. 00:20:18.88\00:20:22.92 Friends of mine is He will allow the source of drama 00:20:22.92\00:20:26.15 at some point to be revealed in your life. 00:20:26.35\00:20:28.86 But I need you to know 00:20:29.06\00:20:29.96 that once God shows you the drama source, 00:20:29.96\00:20:32.56 you've got to have the courage to deal 00:20:32.73\00:20:34.46 with the source of the drama. 00:20:34.46\00:20:37.57 Oh yeah. I like him. Brand new on me today. 00:20:37.57\00:20:39.13 Anybody ever seen 00:20:40.44\00:20:41.47 people that are magnets for drama? 00:20:41.47\00:20:45.51 Do you ever seen somebody that's just a magnet for chaos? 00:20:45.51\00:20:48.88 They're everywhere they go. 00:20:49.51\00:20:51.08 Things bottom out. 00:20:51.08\00:20:52.65 Every time they show up, things get messy. 00:20:52.65\00:20:55.55 Every time they come around, things begin to get tense. 00:20:55.55\00:20:58.75 I need you to recognize that there are times where God 00:20:58.95\00:21:01.82 reveals the sources of drama in your life. 00:21:01.82\00:21:04.69 And I need you to be clear 00:21:04.86\00:21:06.23 that the drama angle never remove itself. 00:21:06.23\00:21:08.36 It's not going to yield voluntarily. 00:21:08.50\00:21:10.57 At some point, you've got to have the courage, 00:21:10.57\00:21:12.63 like the Mariners on the boat, to say, Man, I love you. 00:21:12.63\00:21:15.74 I'm doing this for you and for me. 00:21:15.80\00:21:17.91 I've got to throw some sources of drama overboard 00:21:18.04\00:21:21.71 so I can make it back to God. 00:21:22.48\00:21:23.81 You hear what I'm saying today? 00:21:23.81\00:21:26.75 In other words, brother, 00:21:26.75\00:21:28.72 if you're home, he's sleeping on your couch 00:21:28.72\00:21:31.05 is causing drama between you and your woman. 00:21:32.49\00:21:34.96 Then at some point 00:21:35.96\00:21:36.86 you're going to have to erect some boundaries. 00:21:36.99\00:21:38.66 I throw homeboy overboard, the almighty quiet. 00:21:38.66\00:21:41.16 In other words, Sister, if your girlfriend's counsel 00:21:41.76\00:21:44.57 is causing drama in your house, you're going to have to 00:21:44.77\00:21:47.70 throw up some boundaries or put home girl overboard. 00:21:47.70\00:21:51.57 Y'all mighty quiet today. 00:21:51.61\00:21:53.01 If lending them money is keeping you broke and them dependent. 00:21:53.01\00:21:57.45 At some point, you're going to have to throw them overboard. 00:21:57.58\00:22:01.88 Understand that if you always starting 00:22:02.05\00:22:04.85 fights in fights that you didn't start, 00:22:04.89\00:22:07.22 you won't have to put up some boundaries. 00:22:07.36\00:22:09.36 I throw some folk overboard if you got to be mad with them 00:22:09.36\00:22:13.63 and all of that, be friends with them. 00:22:13.76\00:22:15.83 You've got to throw some folk overboard. 00:22:15.83\00:22:19.00 You are hearing me today, friends 00:22:19.10\00:22:20.70 to see. 00:22:21.67\00:22:22.17 At some point you will have to do some inventory 00:22:22.70\00:22:24.77 in your life and realize on your boat 00:22:24.97\00:22:28.14 the difference between the sales 00:22:28.31\00:22:30.95 and the anchors. 00:22:31.38\00:22:34.65 See how many of us know that 00:22:34.65\00:22:35.75 in every life there are some sales. 00:22:35.75\00:22:37.79 When they get underneath 00:22:37.92\00:22:39.22 the wind of God, they push you where you're supposed to go. 00:22:39.22\00:22:42.92 But there are some that are anchors planted by the enemy 00:22:43.12\00:22:47.36 to halt your progress and keep you from becoming 00:22:48.56\00:22:52.40 who God has ultimately ordained for you to become. 00:22:52.53\00:22:56.10 And so I need you to know you'll never know the difference 00:22:57.11\00:22:59.44 between a sail and an anchor until the wind starts blowing 00:22:59.44\00:23:02.84 and say One of the greatest things of a storm 00:23:04.35\00:23:06.72 is that the storm reveals who your friends actually are. 00:23:06.82\00:23:10.29 It reveals who's 00:23:11.85\00:23:12.75 for you and who's actually against you. 00:23:12.75\00:23:15.32 Listen, I'm almost done. 00:23:16.02\00:23:18.63 That's crazy, 00:23:18.63\00:23:20.10 because. 00:23:20.83\00:23:21.26 God, God, I mean, Jonah literally says this. 00:23:21.76\00:23:23.93 This, I guess, 00:23:23.93\00:23:25.27 is only one way to do it. 00:23:25.83\00:23:27.67 You're going to have to toss me off the ship. 00:23:27.67\00:23:29.94 And it's crazy because, man, they literally pray 00:23:31.31\00:23:33.81 unto the Lord, Jonah's God. 00:23:34.04\00:23:35.58 They're like, Lord, have mercy on us for what we about to do. 00:23:35.58\00:23:38.78 And man, I don't know if it's three or four of them 00:23:40.48\00:23:42.55 that grab Jonah, they pick him up 00:23:42.55\00:23:45.19 and all one, 00:23:45.55\00:23:51.39 two, three. 00:23:51.39\00:23:55.53 And the Bible says that 00:23:57.07\00:23:58.53 as soon as Jonah's body hits the water, 00:23:58.53\00:24:04.01 all of a sudden the sea becomes calm. 00:24:04.01\00:24:06.47 But that ain't even the best part of the story. 00:24:08.01\00:24:10.65 Did you notice that the Bible says 00:24:10.65\00:24:12.68 that God prepared a great fish 00:24:13.05\00:24:16.32 to swallow up Jonah 00:24:17.99\00:24:20.42 Oh, some of y'all, Mr. Shout. 00:24:21.42\00:24:23.86 See, the problem is that so you got to realize 00:24:23.86\00:24:26.39 that when Jonah tells them to throw him over, 00:24:26.39\00:24:29.13 Jonah is not looking for an escape plan. 00:24:29.53\00:24:33.23 You realize that Jonah is planning for his own demise, 00:24:33.23\00:24:36.94 as they are counting. One, two, three. 00:24:37.31\00:24:39.34 He's counting down to his last breath 00:24:39.34\00:24:41.68 like Jonah assumes that this is where his story ends. 00:24:41.98\00:24:45.38 Jonah is under the assumption that he's gone too far 00:24:45.65\00:24:48.65 beyond the mercy of God. 00:24:48.82\00:24:50.62 He is getting ready to face final judgment and consequence. 00:24:50.62\00:24:54.19 In other words, he can't see his eyes, 00:24:54.36\00:24:57.59 can't see his ears, can't hear his heart, has not received 00:24:57.59\00:25:02.63 what God has prepared for Him. 00:25:02.96\00:25:05.30 And as soon as Jonah's body hits the water, 00:25:05.67\00:25:08.60 the Bible says A great whale swallow us up, Jonah. 00:25:08.90\00:25:13.27 Now, some of y'all still look it funny 00:25:13.51\00:25:15.74 because we thought the whale was punishment, 00:25:15.74\00:25:18.55 but the whale was not punishment. 00:25:19.81\00:25:22.38 The whale was protection. 00:25:22.38\00:25:24.42 The whale was how God spared him. 00:25:24.85\00:25:27.32 The whale was how God kept him. 00:25:27.76\00:25:30.06 The whale is how God preserved him. 00:25:30.46\00:25:33.13 Jonah was preparing to be destroyed, 00:25:33.50\00:25:36.23 but Mercy said not so. 00:25:36.50\00:25:38.90 And he's sorry. 00:25:39.27\00:25:40.20 Jonah, you can't just preach on your spot. 00:25:40.20\00:25:43.47 You can't live on your time. 00:25:43.81\00:25:45.97 And because of God, you can even die when you get ready. 00:25:46.34\00:25:51.31 I'm in control of every area of your life. 00:25:51.31\00:25:55.28 I'm the sovereign God. 00:25:55.72\00:25:57.79 There is none before me. 00:25:57.79\00:25:59.92 There's none beside me There's none after me 00:25:59.92\00:26:03.96 Oh, God, all by myself 00:26:04.39\00:26:08.03 And beside me there is no other 00:26:08.53\00:26:12.27 kidnap anybody that praise God that he controls your seas, 00:26:12.80\00:26:17.41 controls your time, and I need you to know 00:26:18.17\00:26:21.34 it looks like you may be about to go under, 00:26:21.34\00:26:24.61 but God has prepared something to save you financially. 00:26:24.98\00:26:29.45 There's a world that's to save you medically. 00:26:29.88\00:26:32.62 He's got a way of escape. 00:26:32.95\00:26:35.12 Your eyes haven't seen it. 00:26:35.12\00:26:37.36 Your ears haven't heard me. 00:26:37.36\00:26:39.89 That has entered into the heart of man 00:26:39.93\00:26:42.10 that which God here 00:26:42.43\00:26:45.00 has prepared for those who love Him. 00:26:45.57\00:26:48.47 Breath of Life Music 00:28:05.75\00:28:23.26 END 00:28:23.26\00:28:30.41
