content you are allowing to
shape what's in your heart.

See, you can't allow bitterness
to shape the content of your
heart because even when the

spirit touches a bitter heart,
it gets hard against God. It's
why brother, you can't let anger

shape the content of your heart.
Because when you are filled with
anger and a love appeal of the

spirit hardens you against God,
it is why you can't let
substance abuse shape the

content of your heart because
it'll stand against God and make
you harden against God.

It is why you, you can't allow
fornication or homosexuality in
a drive the content of your

heart because it'll function
as a strong hold and harden you

against God. And see, I need
somebody to understand that
you've got to begin to allow

something to reshape the content
of your heart so that you have,
see some of us don't just lack

the willingness to respond to
God. We lack the capacity to
respond to God because we've

allowed the wrong thing to shape
who we are. And so instead of
acting like ice, we're

functioning like clay. But the
good news for somebody today is
that when I read the book of

Jeremiah, I hear the story of
some clay that was formed wrong
in a potter's hand.

But is there anybody that knows
a potter that's able to do a
work even with hard clay that's

made wrong, that he can make you
over, he can reshape you, he can
start all over again. He can do

a new work inside of you, but
you've gotta be still and let
him be God over your life. Are

word says here in verse number

five, now it was told the king
of Egypt that the people had
fled and the heart of Pharaoh

and his servants
was turned against who?

The people. And they said, why
have we done this that we have
let Israel go from serving us?

So he made ready his chariot and
he took his people with him and
he took 600 choice chariots

and the chariots of Egypt
with captains over everyone.

And the Bible says that the Lord
hardened the heart of the king

of Egypt. Now again, friends
with this point, don't thank me
irreverent or irreligious when

I'm about to say this, but but
let it breathe before you form
your opinion. You see, I think

that if you're on the verge of
something, one of the things
that has to happen is I think

the wicked need the truth of the
righteous, but the righteous
need the resolve of the wicked.

that. That's why I said let it

the word? See, I believe that on

the wicked need the truth of the

righteous need the resolve and
the bounce back that the wicked

your boy Pharaoh just won't let
it go. I mean the harder he

holds onto this people, the more
he fools around with these folk,
the more debilitated everything

in his life becomes. You would
think that when these folk
rolled up out of Egypt, that

gates, lock the door and never
see anybody called by the name

of God in his life,

But it's funny because when
you read the book Patriarchs in

Prophets, 228, when my favorite
writer literally says that after
Israel had been gone for a

little while, she literally says
that Pharaoh recovered from his
00:04:50.29\00:04:57.16
fear. Oh Jesus, That he
recovered from his fear. He
began to see the 10 plagues of
00:04:57.19\00:05:07.14
Egypt as not as a result of
natural causes. And he literally
begins to revive his faith in
00:05:07.17\00:05:15.21
the gods of Egypt. And it's
crazy friends of mine because
I'm looking at this thing that

your boy Pharaoh, he recovered
from his fear to do evil.

[Congregation: Yes Okay, wicked.
But why do the wicked recover
from their fear to do evil? But

we can't recover from our fears.
It's crazy how he recovers from
an earthly disappointment. But

rebound from a little spiritual
disappointment that we have

every now and then when God
takes too long. And what I'm
saying to somebody friends,

is that we've gotta get to a
place where there is some faster
recovery in the household of

of us understand that you gotta

says. The Bible says remember
not the former things, not even

consider the things of old. He
says, behold I will do a new
thing and shall you not know it.

In other words, I'm saying to
some child of God in the year
2023, I need you to recover from

your fear. I need you to stop
singing your sad song. Don't
walk around no more this year

talking about who wasn't there
for you and who lets you down
and who wasn't there to support

you and how many folk was
against you. Stop walking around
talking about how strong the

devil is and how he got your

there anybody that still

believes that greater is he that
is in us than he that is in the

Weeping may endure for a night,

that is the tragedy. And

faith where we only had resolved
when we were in the world

act like they ain't never met

how people can be so committed
to playing the casino

And yet we still skittish about
giving God a faithful tithe and
offering as if God is less

you ever seen somebody that will

the lie is collapsing all around
them. Evidence is coming left

they will literally die on the

altar of the lie. And yet we got
some that'll stick with the lie.
But we get skittish about

preaching the truth of the

experience, one bad day of
church and ain't never going

church cause I got hurt at

step all over your heart and yet

Isn't it crazy how these Ponzi

church? Y'all know what I'm
talking about? All these Ponzi

schemes where you sign somebody
up under you and they sign five
people up under you and 10

got in Ponzi schemes where you

maybe we don't need the resolve

bad and turn it around and use

literally used to sing in the

bar and in the tavern, don't
lose that resolve, keep that
same energy and bring it to the

praise team and the choir and
use that voice to glorify God.
There were some that used to be

that bad kid that drew other
kids out of the church. Keep
that same energy and be a deacon

or an usher and open the door
and help people get into the
church of the living God. There

are some of us that used to be
bad in the streets. You used to
be knocking cats over laying

hands on cats. I need you to
keep that same energy. Get on
the security team at church.

ministry. We need a little

repurpose it and use it for the

gotta be testimony in the church

quoting the scripture, but tell

There are some of us that used
to drink and curse and for some

Last thing is teachers, friends
is when you're on the verge of

something, there's going
to always be an attempted

repossession.

So Pharaoh's initial assption is
that they just ain't going to be
able to make it on their own.

But then he literally takes on a
posture that says, okay, if they
ain't going to come back, I'm

going to go get what's mine. And
it's crazy how Pharaoh, who in
many ways you realize if you

read kind of New Testament that
Pharaoh is a tight or a
foreshadowing of Satan and sin

and that Jesus is a type or a
symbol of Jesus and the work of
salvation. Are y'all hearing me

today friends? And it's crazy
because Pharaoh sees them as his
property. The devil literally

thinks he owns the deed to your
soul. It is why he refuses to
let you go and see the other

reason. It's crazy cause see,
Pharaoh wants you to think you
need him. But see, one of the

reasons Pharaoh goes to get them
is because now that they gone

He realized just
how bad he needed them,

It's crazy cause they only been
gone for like a few days from
Egypt, they haven't made it to

Canaan. They're still on
the verge of deliverance,

Okay. See they're in an
interesting space and I'm almost
done. See, because they haven't

gotten all the way into Canaan.
Are y'all hear me? They are
still traveling. They're see,

see they're on the verge of
deliverance. But see, when
you're on the verge of

deliverance, you are
simultaneously on the verge of
being recaptured. So you've

gotta manage that space very
cautiously and very well because
just as much as you're on the

verge of seeing God break the
yoke and pull you out of some
things that because you're on

the verge, if you don't manage
it right, you can wind up right
back in and what God just

brought you out of, are y'all
here in the pastor today? Now
the reason they gotta manage

this, right? The reason they
can't get scared and go back to
Egypt, do you realize how hard

and how cruel the bondage will
be the next time? I mean,
Pharaoh won't let them breathe.

I mean there, will be
suffocating bondage if they go
back again. And why am I saying

this to the body of Christ?
There are some of us that have
made some commitments in this
00:19:50.49\00:19:55.12
new year. We've made it a point
to begin some new habits and to
begin some new patterns. And the
00:19:55.16\00:19:59.06
good news is that some of us are
seeing some early progress.
There are some students that
00:19:59.09\00:20:03.53
have made it up in their mind
that I'm going to get to class
on time and I'm going to study
00:20:03.57\00:20:06.63
in advance and not
procrastinate. There are some of
us that are joining us in the
00:20:06.67\00:20:10.51
early morning prayer services
and you're seeing breakthroughs
in your prayer life. There are
00:20:10.54\00:20:14.14
some of us, you've lost those
first three or four pounds and
you're starting to look good in
00:20:14.18\00:20:18.61
that dress. And there are some
of us that are literally getting
to a place where the taste for
00:20:18.65\00:20:24.72
certain things is beginning to
dissipate. But be careful about
being on the verge. Don't let
00:20:24.75\00:20:33.43
your guard down because how many
of us know this spirit might be
willing, but do I have a witness
00:20:33.46\00:20:40.04
that the flesh is weak? And
you've got to make sure you
leverage your progress, that you
00:20:40.07\00:20:48.91
leverage your moment, that you
don't let your guard down.
Because if you go back to Egypt,
00:20:48.94\00:20:58.72
The bondage is going to be even
more severe the next go round.
So some have been making

progress with their sobriety.
Listen, do not put your guard
down because the next time you
00:21:07.40\00:21:10.50
have to start over again, it's
going to be that much harder.
There are some of us men that

are making advances in our
prayer life, but then if you go
back under Satanic bondage,

just, learning how to get one
prayer through is going to be
that much harder. There are some

of us that are trying to get in
the rhythm of eating, right? But
if you have that one trip to

y'all, but like sometimes in the

morning if I'm driving down
Memorial Parkway, I literally
will turn on another street.

how you know as a child of God,

overwhelm you, kick you to the
curb, make you think you ain't

knowing your real value because
you realize that if you wasn't

you, or if you wasn't going to
be nothing like your auntie

just like your daddy,

devil really believed that he
wouldn't try so hard to keep you

So that when you look at
the story of the exodus in the

Passover, there are two things
that show Israel's value. Number
one, how hard Pharaoh tried to

keep them, and two, the price
that the lamb paid to free them.
And there's somebody today who
00:23:13.52\00:23:28.67
is on the verge of something.
And, for some maybe it's
academic, for some it's

professional, maybe for some
it's with your business. I'm
hoping that for all of us, all
00:23:33.61\00:23:40.28
of us spiritually are on the
