verge is because we don't carry
no bitterness with us.

Every now and then. You need
some bitterness from yesterday
so you can celebrate your today.

You know, one of the things that
annoys me in the church of God
is when I hear folk that have

come into the truth, and we've
been in the way a little while,
and maybe some of us have not

had this experience, but you
ever been around folk who brag
more about their former life
00:01:04.66\00:01:13.34
than they boast about their
current life as if somehow
Christ was a demotion and you
00:01:13.37\00:01:19.87
was having more fun when you was
in the world. See, all that is
is somebody that's lost touch

with their bitterness. In other
words, they've been in the way
so long that they forget how bad

it was before they came into the
truth of the living God. Are
y'all hearing what I'm saying

today, friends? It's crazy
because there are some of us men
that love to romanticize about

how we used to get down and how
we used to turn up and all the
fun that we used to have.

We got too many brothers that
celebrating their player days
more than they celebrate their

present day. We got some that
are celebrating their athletic
past more than they celebrate

their anointed present. And what
I'm saying to somebody today,
remember that the only way you

came into the way is because the
bitterness of life chased you
that way. Okay, I'm going insult

you now. Don't act like you came
to Jesus. You were chased to

The bitterness chased you there,
the hardship chased, you there,
and the heartbreak chased you

there. It was the hurt that
brought you there. I know you
thought, oh, I just came to

Jesus on my own. The devil is a
lie. It was life kicking your
butt all up and down the street.

Pastor Snell: That drove you
into the house of the Lord. See,
every now and then, I know,

and we are in the age of therapy
and wholeness and wellness. But
every now and then, you need a

little PST in your life. You
need to keep a little post-sin
trauma. You got to have a little

post-sin, trauma to let you know
not to go down that way no more
am I telling the truth. Miss

Kay. I remember growing up in
Florida, like, so we lived on
the street called Jackson Bluff.

And it was like a hill, an
incline that went down to our
house. And whenever it would

rain hard, principle dent, or we
would have hurricanes that would
dump a bunch of rain, the street
00:03:20.20\00:03:26.74
would fill up with water and it
would come like all the way up
to our knees. And so my mom and

my aunts would always tell us
like, listen, don't go down
because you can't see what's
00:03:33.14\00:03:39.28
underneath the water. And it's
crazy because I see my friends,
they out there in the street,

they dog-paddling, they
swimming. I ain't going to be
the only one listening to my
00:03:44.55\00:03:51.39
mama. And so I'd go out there
with my bad self and the water
comes all the way up, Bobby to

my thighs. But what would happen
sometimes under the street flood
is it would wash away ant hills.

And it's crazy because what
happens is I ran across a space
where a whole bunch of ants

washed upon my legs and I got
bit from my thighs all the way
down to my feet. And it's crazy

because that thing was my
disobedience left such trauma
that whenever I see a flooded

street, man, I have a little
clitch so that whenever it
starts raining, I'm tripping,

I'm twitching because I got some
trauma to let me know. And
matter of fact, even when I go

to a beach or a lake, I ain't
getting in no water where I
can't see beneath the surface.

If it ain't clear and chlorine,
the pastor ain't getting in it
unless I'm at Bermuda or the

Bahamas. I got to see what's
beneath the surface because I
got some trauma that says, don't

go back in that no more. And
what I'm saying is that you got
to have some post-sin trauma so

that every time their number
comes up, you start twitching to
let you know. Don't even go that
00:04:57.56\00:05:06.00
way no more. Whenever you smell
cigarettes smoke, you ought
twitch to let you know. Don't go

that way no more. Whenever they
show up, get your job, you on a
twitch to let you know. Don't go

down that path no more. You got
to maintain some bitterness that
keeps pushing you to betterness.

So the word says here in verse
nine, can we stay in the word.
So God says this, he says, do

not eat it raw nor boiled with
all the water, but roasted with
fire, its head with its legs.

And its what? In trails and you
shall not let any of it remain
until morning. Did y'all catch

this, friends? See, the third
thing you got to do when you're
on the verge is I need you to

know you can't pick and choose
which parts of the lamb you
want. When you're on the verge

of something saint. Oh y'all
looking at your phones now
you're at your bibles. Oh, y'all

tired looking at your watch now?
No, no. Stay with the pastor
today, You can't pick and choose

which parts of the lamb you're
going to receive. Now, this is
an interesting instruction that

is given by God. So God says,
listen, man, got to eat this not
boiled, but you got to eat it

roasted with fire. Then he says,
you got to eat it nasty with
bitter herbs. Then he says,

watch this. He says, don't let
any of the lamb remain. He says
I want you to eat all of it,

including the legs, the entrails
and the head. Are y'all with me
today, friends? So, now again,

there is a purpose to this
instruction because yeah, I
mean, you know how it is. I

mean, some of y'all done been to
KFC before. Oh really? I mean,
you don't be wanting the wings.

You be wanting some other parts.
Okay, all right. All right. All
right. And in the same way,

there are certain choice pieces
of the lamb that are preferred.
But God is saying, you can't

just pick which parts of the
lamb you want. You got to have
the whole lamb. So I, you know,

you may want the thigh of the
lamb, but you don't want the
little bony leg of the lamb. You

don't want the insides of the
lamb. But God says, I want
what's on the inside of the lamb

to get inside of you. Some of
y'all just got that. He is
saying, I want what's on the

inside of the lamb to get on the
inside of you. Listen, I mean,
you didn't want to eat the head

of the Lamb. Real talk. I mean,
you want to cut the head off,
but he says you going to eat the

head with the eyes looking at
you. And he says, I want you to
eat the head. Because see, when

you cut off the head, you are
not even sure what type of meat
it is. But when you see the head

and the eyes, you don't just see
it as a meal. You see it as a
being that had to die for your

sin. Oh, y'all almighty quiet.
And when I have to eat the head
of the lamb, I think about my

next sin with a little bit more
caution because I realized
somebody had to die. So he says,

man, when when you go eat this
meal, you can't pick and choose
which parts you want. You've got
00:08:54.96\00:09:00.84
to eat all of it and see friends
of mine. This shows why some of
us have never experienced the
00:09:00.87\00:09:06.74
fullness of Jesus Christ. See, I
need somebody to understand that
spiritually you are on the verge
00:09:06.78\00:09:13.11
of something. Hear me today,
saints, somebody's on the verge
of constructing a transformative
00:09:13.15\00:09:20.39
prayer life. Somebody is on the
verge of radical faith.
Somebody's on the verge of a
00:09:20.42\00:09:25.09
Pentecostal outpouring. Some of
us are on the verge of having
visions and dreams. But I need
00:09:25.13\00:09:30.00
you to know that when you are on
the verge of spiritual growth,
you can't pick and choose which
00:09:30.03\00:09:35.94
parts of the lamb you're going
to receive. See, some of us
still hadn't gotten it because
00:09:35.97\00:09:48.08
some many of us are clear that
the lamb represents. The lamb
represents Jesus Christ. That's
00:09:48.12\00:09:53.99
why when Jesus came walking
along the foothills of the
Jordan River and John the
00:09:54.02\00:09:56.19
Baptist looked upon him. He
didn't call him by his
government name, but he said,
00:09:56.22\00:10:01.63
'Behold the lamb of God, which
take us away the sin of the
world'. It is why when John sees
00:10:01.66\00:10:04.90
him in the book of Revelation,
he is referred to as the lamb
slain before the foundation of
00:10:04.93\00:10:10.71
the earth. It is literally
why Paul refers to Christ as our
00:10:10.74\00:10:15.71
Passover, because the same way
that they partook of the
Passover lamb when we eat the
00:10:15.74\00:10:23.12
bread, which is a symbol of his
body and the wine, which is a
symbol of his blood, it's not
00:10:23.15\00:10:29.29
just enough for us to be in the
lamb. It doesn't take effect
until the lamb is inside of us.

Are y'all hearing the word
today? My friends? And so I need
somebody to understand friends

that as they partake of the
meal, which is a symbol of
Christ, they cannot decide, I

want some parts of the lamb and
not other parts of the lamb. God
is saying, you got to have all

of the lamb or none of the lamb.
You can't have lamb, a la carte.
You can't have buffet, lamb,

where I'm going to eat this part
of Christ and I'm going to
reject that part of Christ. We

got to get to a place where I'm
going to embrace all of Jesus or
none of Jesus. And see the

problem with some in our time is
that we want the blessing of the
lamb, but we don't want the

correction of the lamb. We want
to have the lambs favor, but we
don't want to forgive like the
00:11:24.65\00:11:30.42
lamb forgave. We want the lamb
that savior, but we don't want
the lamb's head. Oh, y'all
00:11:30.45\00:11:37.19
mighty quiet. Oh, oh, oh. We
want his omnipotence, but we
don't want to have obedience. We
00:11:37.23\00:11:43.77
want his character, but we don't
want his commandments. We want
his provision, but we don't want

to obey his prophecy. And see,
the problem is we're trying to
mix and match. We're trying to

choose and leave behind. But I
need you to know that you cannot
experience the fullness of

Christ until you embrace the
fullness of Christ. See, I need
us to understand, I cannot have

the--you realize you can't even
be fully loved by God if you
reject his discipline. Have

y'all not read Hebrews 11? He
says, whom the Lord loves, he
chases. So we want to walk

around talking about, I'm a son,
I'm a daughter of God. I'm an
Israelite. I'm a prince. How you

going to be a son or daughter of
God if you going to reject the
chastening portion of your

journey? Do you realize friends
of mind that the proof or the
evidence that you are a son or a
00:12:37.45\00:12:43.59
daughter of God is that you
receive his chastening, not as
punishment, but as preservation?

It's crazy, man.

I remember my daughter had a
little birthday party one day at
one of the little theme areas

here around town. And it was a
bunch of kids. And so some of
the kids start to get a little

wild. They try to get a little
buck. You know how our kids do,
got some babies here in this
00:12:58.54\00:13:01.71
community. And it is crazy
because the kids were like doing
some stuff, jumping on some

stuff, getting on the edge. So I
went to my daughter and I began
to kind of pull her down and

make sure she was safe. And I
began to chastise her about what
she was supposed to do.

And it's crazy Dr. Pollard
because somebody from the
outside, she saw me with a bunch

of kids. But then she says, that
must be your daughter. And I
said, how do you know that's my

daughter? She says, I know it's
yours because that's the one you
chasing. In other words, I know

you cared about the other kids,
but you couldn't afford to let
that one get hurt. You couldn't

afford to let that one fall
down. You couldn't afford to let
that one get bruised up. I know

the one that's yours by the one
you're chasing. In other words,
everybody got pizza, everybody

got cupcakes, and everybody got
cola. But only one got the
chasing. And is there anybody

that knows that God is going to
cause the sun to rise on the
evil and on the good? But those

that are his children are the
ones that say, I don't just
thank you for the cupcakes and

the cookies. I thank you, Lord,
for the chasing. I thank you for
the rebuke. I thank you for the

correction. It's a crazy praise.
Listen, I grew up in a house
where we didn't get timeouts.

Oh, oh, come on, come on. I know
y'all got some education here.
But anybody remembers them days

where your grandma, they would
make you go get your own switch.
And if you came back with a tiny

one, it would make your
punishment even worse. And I
thought my parents was lying

when they said, this is going to
hurt me more than it hurts you.
And I need you to know I wasn't

thankful for them then. But when
I look back over my life and I
look at where some of my friends

landed and where some of my
homies landed and where some of
my cousins landed, I wasn't

thanking God for the belt or the
switch then. But when I look
back over my life, I'm thankful

for parents that didn't just
give video games or cake or
pizza. But the best parents give

correction and chastening. And
because I'm a son, I receive it.
Are y'all hearing the word

today? And it's funny about
y'all grandparents. See, I tell
my kids how my parents raised me

and they don't believe it
because y'all grandparents are
deceitful. [Congregation: Laugh]

Come on, tell the truth. Come
on, come on, come on.
Grandparents raised us under the

law and then they raise their
grandkids under grace. Oh, just
let that baby alone. Let them

have some more candy and soda
and syrup and ice. Oh Lord,
where all this came from. Who

Laughing] You be trying to make
the point to your kids. They be

like, oh, not my nana. Verse 11
And thus you shall eat it. Watch
this with a belt on your waist,

sandals on your feet, a staff in
your hand and you shall eat it
in haste because it is the

Lord's Passover. Last thing,
when you're on the verge of
something, your posture can't be

stationary. Again. My friends,
once the instructions are here
given he said, listen, when

y'all eat this meal, y'all can't
eat this meal relaxed reclining
with your feet up and the top

button of your pants loose. He,
he's saying, you can't sit down
and eat this meal. You got to

get this one in the
drive-through and see,
understand. He literally says,

like he says, eat it with your
shoes on. Eat it with your belt
tight. He says, don't even sit
00:17:50.17\00:18:00.14
down, eat it standing up so that
as soon as the freedom decree as
scent, you are ready to walk

through the door As soon as it
opens up. Why does God do this?
Because God understands that
00:18:06.18\00:18:15.16
Pharaoh is going to harden
himself again. He understands
that the freedom window is going
00:18:15.19\00:18:22.00
to open suddenly, but then it is
going to close quickly and see
if they wait too long when the
00:18:22.03\00:18:26.77
door opens and now I got to
start putting on my shoes and I
got to now find my belt. And now
00:18:26.80\00:18:32.84
I got to start packing my bag.
And now I got to start readying
the animals to leave. And now I

got to find out where my sandals
are. God knows that by the time
you get ready, the door that was

open will be closed before you
move. Are you hearing what I'm
saying? And see, I need us to be

clear on this because some of us
are on the verge of something.
Some of us are about to have

doors open, some are about to
have opportunities sent your
way. Some are about to have
00:19:00.34\00:19:04.41
blessings show up in manifold
fashion over in your life. And
there are some that you got to
00:19:04.44\00:19:07.24
make sure that you already got
your belt on. You got to already
got to make sure that your shoes
00:19:07.28\00:19:12.98
is on your feet. You got to make
sure that you're standing up in
anticipation so that when the
00:19:13.01\00:19:19.15
opportunity opens up, you are
ready to move when God says
move, let me just say this

because see there are some of us
that look with jealousy upon the
opportunity of others. Why?
00:19:23.26\00:19:29.66
Because we think there are some
that have the mightiest touch.
We feel like all the doors open
00:19:29.70\00:19:32.43
up for them. We feel like they
get all of the chances and
nothing comes my way. But see, I
00:19:32.47\00:19:39.61
need you to understand why some
get more opportunities from
others is those who get the most
00:19:39.64\00:19:47.58
opportunities are those who
prepare for opportunity without
a date. Can I say something? Do

you realize that opportunity is
attracted to preparation? No
opportunity is infatuated and
00:20:01.70\00:20:11.04
obsessed with preparation. So
whenever somebody starts
preparing opportunity just

starts moving and see. See God
knows man that Pharaoh's going
to change his mind and he says,

I know that this window's going
to open quick and it's going to
close quick. But see man, if
00:20:19.38\00:20:22.92
they still fooling around and
they got to find their shoes and
they got to find their belt and
00:20:22.95\00:20:26.96
they got to get up off the
couch, the door is going to be
closed before it's time to move.

And I want to say to somebody
who's on the verge of something
before those doors open,

you've got to already be in a
mobile posture so that when it
swings open, oh God, if you

don't hear anything else, hear
this, saints so that when it
swings open, you already got one
00:20:47.14\00:20:55.95
foot in it as soon as the crack
shows up. Are y'all hearing me
today, Friends? Opportunity goes

hunting for preparation. It
stalks preparation. It pursues
preparation. This is going to

sound sacrilegious. As a matter
of fact, some of us ought to
spend less time praying for

opportunities and spend more
time preparing for
opportunities. In fact, I need

you to know preparation is just
a prayer without words. Oh God,
where y'all at today? Church,

that preparation is just a
prayer that you have not given
voice to. In other words, stop

just praying for a husband and
start preparing to be a wife.
See you running around here

praying for a wife, but you
ain't got no job. In other
words, you're praying for it but

you ain't prepared for it. And
don't just pray to be the
leader. Prepare for the

competencies that come along
with leadership. Don't just pray
for the CD opportunity to be
00:21:58.51\00:22:05.12
given. Start writing music
before you even meet a producer
or a choreographer. Don't just
00:22:05.15\00:22:10.09
pray for a book deal. You got to
write when ain't nobody calling
your name and ain't nobody even
00:22:10.13\00:22:20.54
checking for you. What I'm
saying to somebody today is if
you start preparing for it, God
00:22:20.57\00:22:25.47
is going to start sending it in
your direction. But see, like I
said, some of us man, we won't
00:22:25.51\00:22:37.79
always wait until we see. But
see, I need somebody to
understand that seasons of
00:22:37.82\00:22:43.93
preparation precede seasons of
opportunity. See, God is a bad
parent if he sends opportunity

before preparation because
literally, opportunity consumes
those who have not prepared

themselves for it. So stop
trying to invert the order. I
want the opportunity just

because I'm me. I'm preparing
for something. I don't have a
clock, I ain't got no calendar.

I don't know when, but I know
God and I know God is going to
show up right on time. Are y'all

hearing the word today? My
friends And see this thing? I
need you to understand that the

season of preparations are
longer than the seasons of
opportunity. He prepared them

for hundreds of years, but the
opportunity to walk out wasn't
but a couple of days before

Pharaoh changed his mind. And
see that's why we got to operate
in readiness. Somebody shouts

Readiness] See I need us to
understand that there's a

difference between being ready
for something and being prepared
for something. See, readiness

speaks to my desire to have it.
Preparation speaks to the work
that I put in to be able to

perform that which God is going
to place under my stewardship.
So some of us are ready to be

married but we ain't prepared
for it. We are ready to be
parents but we ain't prepared

for it. We're ready to be in
charge but we are not prepared
for it. Why? Because there is no
00:24:19.12\00:24:27.23
infrastructure in the soul that
warrants that type of
opportunity. Are y'all hearing

what the pastor is saying today?
You got to get prepared for
something. You got to learn how
