Sermon #S022 - I've Got Receipts - (Part 1) 00:00:06.97\00:00:20.25 Pastor Snell: John chapter 8 and verse number one. All right. See, so somebody's still 00:00:20.28\00:00:38.10 turning. If you are ready, just now just say I'm ready. 00:00:38.13\00:00:41.44 [Congregation: I'm ready] 00:00:41.47\00:00:43.41 Amen. John chapter 8, verse number 1. The Bible says that Jesus went to the Mount of 00:00:43.44\00:00:49.18 Olives, and now, early in the morning. What time of day was it? What time of day was it? 00:00:49.21\00:00:53.85 [Congregation: Early] 00:00:53.88\00:00:56.12 The Bible says it was early in the morning. He came again into the temple and the people came 00:00:56.15\00:01:05.26 to him and he sat down and talked to them, Jesus meets with the people early in the morning. 00:01:05.29\00:01:09.83 Then the Bible says, then the scribes and Pharisees brought to him a woman caught in adultery. 00:01:09.86\00:01:14.74 And when they had set her in the midst, they said to him teacher, this woman was caught in 00:01:14.77\00:01:24.98 adultery in the very act. Now, Moses in the law commanded us that such should be stoned. But 00:01:25.01\00:01:34.76 what do you say? This they said testing him. That they might have something of which to 00:01:34.79\00:01:38.23 accuse him. And it's crazy that they're willing to kill this woman just to get it Jesus. And 00:01:38.26\00:01:46.27 you see the great controversy at work because you all realize the great controversy is not about 00:01:46.30\00:01:52.21 us. It is a battle between Christ and Satan, we are just caught in the middle. You all 00:01:52.24\00:01:57.71 hear me today, friends. The Bible says, what do you say? Then verse 6 is this they said, 00:01:57.75\00:02:01.92 testing him. Now, they may have something of which to accuse him, but Jesus stooped down and 00:02:01.95\00:02:09.62 wrote on the ground with his finger, as though, he did not hear. And when they continued 00:02:09.66\00:02:18.70 asking him, he raised himself up and said unto them, "He who is without sin amongst you let him 00:02:18.73\00:02:25.51 throw a stone at her first". And again, he stooped down and wrote on the ground, then those who 00:02:25.54\00:02:34.45 heard it being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the 00:02:34.48\00:02:43.59 oldest, even unto the last. And Jesus was left alone and the woman standing in the midst. And 00:02:43.63\00:02:53.64 when Jesus had raised himself up and saw no one but the woman he said unto her, "Woman, where are 00:02:53.67\00:03:07.38 those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you and she said, No one, Lord." And Jesus said, 00:03:07.42\00:03:18.76 neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more. But again, I want to just re-emphasize here. What 00:03:18.79\00:03:25.20 we read here in verse number 6, is then they said this testing him. Now, they might have 00:03:25.23\00:03:33.78 something of which to accuse him. Then in verse 7, the Bible says when they continued asking 00:03:33.81\00:03:41.98 him, he raised himself and said, he who is without sin amongst you let him throw a stone at her 00:03:42.02\00:03:51.83 first. Today, saints for just a little while, I want to talk about the subject, "I've Got 00:03:51.86\00:04:00.34 Receipts". I've got receipts, let's pray together. Father, in this little while, would you say 00:04:00.37\00:04:04.84 much? Father, I'm praying that you would allow us to experience a rare visitation of your 00:04:04.87\00:04:08.94 spirit. Maybe not just leave having gone through an order of service, but Lord, we want to 00:04:08.98\00:04:16.45 leave knowing that we've had an encounter with you. And so Lord, in this hour, would you make me 00:04:16.48\00:04:18.39 your avatar? May I simply be the tool through which you speak and communicate with these, your 00:04:18.42\00:04:22.72 people? And so Lord, my prayer is that in the hearing of the word that faith would be 00:04:22.76\00:04:29.03 multiplied. Hide me in the shadows of the cross that Jesus alone might be seen, that Christ 00:04:29.06\00:04:35.37 alone would be heard. And at the end of our time together made Jesus alone be praised. We ask 00:04:35.40\00:04:40.84 this in the name of him who is altogether lovely, it is in the name of Jesus, that we pray. Let 00:04:40.88\00:04:41.91 God's people say together. Amen, and amen. [Congregation: Amen] You may be seated in the house 00:04:41.94\00:04:54.06 of God. You know, friends, there are a number of lessons that can be gleaned from our story today. 00:04:54.09\00:05:00.80 But the first thing it teaches us is that it is still a good thing to meet with Jesus early 00:05:00.83\00:05:10.01 in the morning. The Bible says that Jesus comes into the temple early in the morning and there 00:05:10.04\00:05:19.38 the people come to meet with him. And every detail of scripture is written for our 00:05:19.41\00:05:26.45 edification. In other words, this gathering with Jesus takes place before the sun even 00:05:26.49\00:05:32.93 emerges. They meet with Jesus while the songs of the cricket can still be heard. 00:05:32.96\00:05:38.40 They meet with Jesus while the dew drops are still resting on 00:05:38.43\00:05:44.71 rose petals. And they value time with Christ in such a way that they make it a point to meet 00:05:44.74\00:05:53.28 with Jesus before they go to work. They make it a point to meet with Jesus before they go 00:05:53.31\00:05:57.72 to class. Their first activity of the day is to have a meeting 00:05:57.75\00:06:03.93 with Jesus. And I want to just instruct the body on this point that in your spiritual 00:06:03.96\00:06:13.23 development and formation, it is important that you get in the habit of meeting with Jesus at 00:06:13.27\00:06:19.61 the start of the day. Is there a witness that knows how you begin the day spiritually? It's going 00:06:19.64\00:06:28.48 to determine how you end the day spiritually. And one of the action steps that I want to put 00:06:28.52\00:06:33.82 before all of us today, is to make sure that this week our first pursuit each day is to 00:06:33.86\00:06:42.76 begin the day with Jesus. Are you with me? [Congregation: 00:06:42.80\00:06:45.17 Amen] In fact, friends, I need you to know that one of the things that will change all of 00:06:45.20\00:06:52.41 the outcomes of your life is to get into the rhythm of having a Jesus-first mentality. In fact, 00:06:52.44\00:07:00.95 friends, Jesus sets the example. In Mark 1:35, the Bible says that Jesus would rise a great 00:07:00.98\00:07:12.66 while before day and find a solitary place where he would pray. In fact, in Psalm 63, 00:07:12.69\00:07:20.94 David says early in the morning, will I seek Him? And the reason friends, Jesus needs to be 00:07:20.97\00:07:31.58 pursued at the start of the day is that we're less likely to meet with him after the busyness 00:07:31.61\00:07:33.05 of the day has commenced. And friends of mine, I don't know about you but it is my life 00:07:33.08\00:07:37.65 experience. Do I have a witness that there is something special that happens when you start your 00:07:37.69\00:07:45.73 day with Jesus Christ? In fact, when I meet with Jesus early that meeting tends to be more 00:07:45.76\00:07:54.57 fruitful. When I start my day with Jesus, Revelation is more abundant. My focus on prayer is 00:07:54.60\00:08:03.88 greater, my spiritual bandwidth is more immense. My heart is not cluttered with the cares of the 00:08:03.91\00:08:07.38 world. When I get settled with Jesus, I get an inner strength that gives me power for whatever 00:08:07.42\00:08:16.26 the day may be. And see one of the things you've got to learn is that you got to get to a 00:08:16.29\00:08:24.73 place where you beat the noise of the day. In other words, there are some parents with 00:08:24.77\00:08:32.14 small kids that have got to meet with Jesus before those babies wake up, and my preaching to 00:08:32.17\00:08:40.15 anybody today. Sometimes you got to meet with Jesus before the stress begins to put consume 00:08:40.18\00:08:46.55 your soul. You've got to start your day with Jesus before the heaviness begins to press upon 00:08:46.59\00:08:54.93 your life. In fact, let me say to the brothers today that before you watched Steven A. 00:08:54.93\00:09:02.20 Smith, make Jesus your first take. You all mighty quiet. Before you start listening to 00:09:02.24\00:09:09.31 Undisputed, you need to get with the undefeated. You need to start scrolling left in the 00:09:09.34\00:09:17.62 scriptures before you start swiping right on your phone. Is there anybody that knows that 00:09:17.65\00:09:19.92 before you watch The Today Show, you need to connect with the God that holds tomorrow? 00:09:19.95\00:09:26.56 [Congregation: Clapping/Amen] And see friends, I want you to get that there are some things 00:09:26.59\00:09:34.74 that happen some benefits of meeting with Christ first. You see the first thing that happens 00:09:34.77\00:09:44.41 when you meet with Jesus first, is you get strengthened for whatever the day may bring. In 00:09:44.45\00:09:52.99 other words, when I have a powerful meeting with God and I experienced his in-feeling, I 00:09:53.02\00:10:02.43 get settled for the day. In other words, I don't start the day frantic, I don't start the 00:10:02.46\00:10:10.27 day frazzled, and I get richness from meeting with God, which makes me so strong that it 00:10:10.31\00:10:17.71 announces to every circumstance that ain't going to let nothing take away my joy. In other 00:10:17.75\00:10:23.65 words, when you meet with Jesus, you get more patience for your kids. You got more patience with 00:10:23.69\00:10:25.19 your spouse. You are less irritable on the job. You've got more bandwidth for your 00:10:25.22\00:10:28.69 co-workers. When your meet with Jesus, you're less likely to go off on those that get on your 00:10:28.72\00:10:34.56 nerves. Are you all here in the preacher today? [Congregation: Amen] Snell: In other words, 00:10:34.56\00:10:39.53 what happens is the day doesn't feel too big for you. You see the problem with some of us is 00:10:39.57\00:10:48.51 we go to work tired. We start the day defeated because we've not connected with the source. 00:10:48.54\00:10:54.45 But when you start the day with Jesus, you're not overwhelmed by the day in the beginning, 00:10:54.48\00:10:56.38 because you focus on the God that is bigger than any problem you may face. In other words, 00:10:56.42\00:11:04.46 friends, you've got to start the day with a deposit, not a withdrawal. [Congregation: 00:11:04.49\00:11:13.30 Clapping/Amen] Snell: In other words, the reason we struggle is that our withdrawals are more 00:11:13.34\00:11:20.84 than our deposits. And is there anybody that knows that when you withdraw more than you put in 00:11:20.88\00:11:29.52 you have insufficient oh where yall at today?, are yall hearing me today? In other words, we got 00:11:29.55\00:11:32.99 insufficient spirituality because we have lost more than we put in. And see the reason 00:11:33.02\00:11:34.46 you want to meet God first, it makes your spiritual life impactful because when you meet 00:11:34.49\00:11:41.60 God first, Jesus becomes vitamin and not medicine. [Congregation: Amen] Oh, God. See the problem 00:11:41.63\00:11:50.17 is some of us only call on Jesus when we get sick but how many of us know that if you've got Jesus 00:11:50.21\00:11:54.98 nurturing your soul he blocked some stuff and keeps it from coming to pass? See for some of 00:11:55.01\00:12:03.12 us Jesus is the only pain medicine. He's the bailout God and God is saying to somebody 00:12:03.15\00:12:04.89 today that I want to get to know you outside of your hardships. [Congregation: Amen] Somebody 00:12:04.92\00:12:10.43 God is saying, I want to know you outside of your difficulty. I want to know you, students 00:12:10.46\00:12:16.93 after you get financially clear. I want to know you after you get out of the bad situation. Is 00:12:16.97\00:12:24.07 there anybody that's in a relationship with God that says I want to know him outside of 00:12:24.11\00:12:31.08 our hardship? I want to know Jesus for myself. And see friends, the reason this is epic 00:12:31.11\00:12:39.29 today is because some of us are treating Jesus like Theraflu when he needs to be your immune 00:12:39.32\00:12:40.69 system. [Congregation: Amen] In other words, when you are connected with the strong immune 00:12:40.72\00:12:45.39 system, what happens is he keeps certain infections from coming and jumping all over you. 00:12:45.43\00:12:51.70 And I need you to know an ounce of prevention is better than two cups of cure. Are you all hear 00:12:51.73\00:12:59.91 me today? [Congregation: Amen] 00:12:59.94\00:13:02.04 And say, I want to take a moment and I just want to preach against some of the popular 00:13:02.08\00:13:06.61 theology of our time. You see one of the reasons you need to meet with Christ early is so you 00:13:06.65\00:13:15.66 don't have to meet with Christ in a hurry. One of the movements that we have accepted in the 00:13:15.69\00:13:22.76 church, have you noticed that everything that revolves around devotional stuff has always been 00:13:22.80\00:13:30.64 watered down to a bite-sized miniature capacity? 00:13:30.67\00:13:34.21 In other words, everything now is about the 5-minute devotional. It's about the 00:13:34.24\00:13:41.78 12-second prayer, and that Jesus is always supposed to be done on 00:13:41.82\00:13:46.49 the go. But do I have a witness that whatever you prioritize you're going to commit 00:13:46.52\00:13:55.16 significant time to I believe if you're transitioning from milk unto meat you ought to be 00:13:55.20\00:14:03.91 getting to a place where you withdraw time from ugly earthly things so you can devote some 00:14:03.94\00:14:09.28 time to spiritual things. The problem with the way we do devotion now is that devotion is 00:14:09.31\00:14:18.29 designed to assuage consciousness and not build character. [Congregation: Amen] 00:14:18.32\00:14:20.09 In other words, we just want to go through some steps so that we can say that we met with God 00:14:20.12\00:14:24.49 but we never get lost in his presence. But I need you to know friends that if you taste and 00:14:24.53\00:14:32.30 see that the Lord is good, you won't always be in a rush. You will always be in a hurry if you 00:14:32.33\00:14:39.94 actually get in the word. Sometimes you will lose track of the sight of time. Has anybody 00:14:39.97\00:14:46.08 got so lost in their prayer closet, that you were supposed to go, but God got so good to 00:14:46.11\00:14:54.96 them, that you just lingered a little bit in the overflow? Are you all hear me today, friends? 00:14:54.99\00:14:57.39 [Congregation: Amen/Clapping] 00:14:57.43\00:14:58.99 And see the lie we've got to stop telling ourselves, is that we don't have time. 00:14:59.03\00:15:05.43 No, no. We've got to stop telling ourselves a lie that we 00:15:05.47\00:15:12.37 don't have time. I need you to know there's some stuff that we can be deleting so that we can 00:15:12.41\00:15:18.58 devote some time to God. In other words, if you were able to like 800 pictures on Instagram. 00:15:18.61\00:15:23.65 [Congregation: Amen] 00:15:23.69\00:15:25.99 Snell: It means you got some time. If you're in 18 fantasy football leagues, you've got the 00:15:26.02\00:15:32.06 tower, you're all mighty quiet. If you work 80 hours a week in two jobs you've got some time. 00:15:32.09\00:15:39.73 If you spend 12 hours a day on the phone with your boo thing, you've got the time. Do you see 00:15:39.77\00:15:49.78 the great prophet of our time, Jonathan McReynolds saying, I make time for what I treasure. I 00:15:49.81\00:16:00.12 make time for what I want. I choose my priorities and Jesus you're my number one. And I need 00:16:00.16\00:16:07.56 to know, are there any blood-washed saints who are saying, Jesus, I'm going to make 00:16:07.60\00:16:16.64 some room for you in my life. So if you need to Jesus my Instagram time, you can move 00:16:16.67\00:16:27.35 that over. My boo thing time, you can move that over. My TV time, you can move that over. My 00:16:27.38\00:16:28.32 work time, you can move that over. I'm living a Christ-first life. [Congregation: Amen] Can 00:16:28.35\00:16:30.25 the redeem say, Amen out there today? [Congregation: Amen] 00:16:30.29\00:16:32.25 Snell: And so friends of mine, this teaches us some lessons and I'm moving as quickly as I can 00:16:32.29\00:16:36.73 today. But the second thing this teaches is that sometimes there's a blessing in getting 00:16:36.76\00:16:46.23 caught. [Congregation: Amen] 00:16:46.27\00:16:48.64 Snell: Now, hear me out, before you tune me out. Are you all hear me today? Now, this early 00:16:48.67\00:16:58.71 morning prayer meeting, it's turned strangely awkward as Jesus is teaching the scriptures 00:16:58.75\00:17:05.62 and a half-dressed woman is thrown into the midst of the 00:17:05.65\00:17:12.03 season of prayer. In fact, the woman is still barely clothed, and her hair is still wet with 00:17:12.06\00:17:22.07 the perspiration she earned in the vile deed. And it's crazy because she has been manhandled 00:17:22.10\00:17:27.81 by the Scribes and the Pharisees. And she has been pushed down into the presence of 00:17:27.84\00:17:34.12 Jesus, and they make the announcement, Jesus, this woman has been caught in adultery. She 00:17:34.15\00:17:40.56 has been caught in the very act. And it's crazy because the Bible says this happens early in the 00:17:40.59\00:17:45.13 morning, which means they've been watching her since last 00:17:45.16\00:17:49.13 night. [Congregation: Amen] 00:17:49.16\00:17:51.50 And his funny friends because there are some of us that don't see the goodness of God in the 00:17:51.53\00:17:59.64 story until the men dropped the stones. Some don't see the goodness of God until the 00:17:59.67\00:18:07.45 accusers are vanquished away. Some don't see the goodness of God until the woman receives her 00:18:07.48\00:18:12.69 pardon. But how many of us know that providence never operates 00:18:12.72\00:18:17.69 in a vacuum? It is at work in every aspect of life. And God is so good that he can take what 00:18:17.73\00:18:27.64 your enemies mean for bad and turn it around and use it for 00:18:27.67\00:18:31.37 your good. [Congregation: Amen] 00:18:31.41\00:18:33.11 You see, friends, I believe Grace was at work even when she fell asleep the night before. 00:18:33.14\00:18:40.15 That grace was at work when they burst into the doors early in 00:18:40.18\00:18:45.09 the morning. Grace is at work when they dragged her out of 00:18:45.12\00:18:49.19 some man's bed. Grace is at work when they dragged her half-clothed through the 00:18:49.22\00:18:53.56 streets, and Grace didn't just start working when Jesus started talking, it was grace that led 00:18:53.60\00:19:01.04 her here in the first place. Okay. You all miss your shout. Do you realize where they 00:19:01.07\00:19:08.28 brought her? [Congregation: Amen] 00:19:08.31\00:19:10.48 Do you realize that the best place to take a sinner is to put them at the feet of Jesus? 00:19:10.51\00:19:19.85 [Congregation: Amen] 00:19:19.89\00:19:23.16 Oh God. If they wanted to hurt her, they should have taken her 00:19:23.19\00:19:27.66 to the Sanhedrin. [Congregation: Amen] 00:19:27.66\00:19:29.80 If they wanted to hurt her, they should have taken her to the court of law, but they took her 00:19:29.83\00:19:34.47 to the wrong place because they've met her no good but they usher her to the foot of Jesus. 00:19:34.50\00:19:39.94 [Congregation: Amen] 00:19:39.97\00:19:41.91 Do you realize that taking a sinner to the foot of Jesus is like taking a starving man to a 00:19:41.94\00:19:48.98 buffet? [Congregation: Amen] 00:19:49.02\00:19:51.09 It's like taking a thirsty man to a well. It's like taking a broke person to the bank, where 00:19:51.12\00:19:56.52 yall at today. [Congregation: Amen] 00:19:56.56\00:19:57.66 Like the best place she could be is in the church. 00:19:57.69\00:20:03.60 [Congregation: Amen] 00:20:03.63\00:20:05.17 And at the feet of Jesus. Now, friends, I have not seen this in 00:20:05.20\00:20:14.44 the scripture, but after this woman gets her restoration, I can see somewhere down the line 00:20:14.48\00:20:23.82 where when she would see these men in the streets, she didn't have an attitude but she would 00:20:23.85\00:20:28.79 go up and said, I thank you... [Congregation: Amen] 00:20:28.82\00:20:30.76 ...for catching me. I thank you for exposing me. I thanked you for taking me to the feet of 00:20:30.79\00:20:39.57 Jesus. And this may seem like strange praise today. 00:20:39.60\00:20:42.84 But I'm at a place where I thank God for every trouble that leads me to the feet of Jesus. 00:20:42.87\00:20:50.61 [Congregation: Amen] 00:20:50.65\00:20:52.65 I know you don't want to praise him this way, but it may have been their lies that led you to 00:20:52.68\00:20:59.32 the truth. It may be your lack that led you to your source. It may be the heartbreak that leads 00:20:59.35\00:21:08.13 you to the heart fixer. It may be a lack of peace that led you to the prince of peace. I don't 00:21:08.16\00:21:15.00 care what took you there. I don't care how long it took to get you there. But as long as 00:21:15.04\00:21:24.61 you're at his feet, give him praise today for the ushers. No, no. Sometimes trouble is not a 00:21:24.65\00:21:29.18 barrier, it's an usher. [Congregation: Amen] 00:21:29.22\00:21:30.02 It seats you at the feet of Jesus. 00:21:30.05\00:21:33.66 [Congregation: Amen] 00:21:33.69\00:21:34.59 Snell: Are you all here in the work today? 00:21:34.62\00:21:37.43 [Congregation: Amen/Hallelujah] 00:21:37.46\00:21:44.13 Snell: You see it's being where she did not belong. 00:21:44.17\00:21:49.27 [Congregation: Amen] 00:21:49.30\00:21:50.74 Snell: That was the catalyst that pushed her where she did 00:21:50.77\00:21:54.64 belong. Now, it's no awkward thing to digest because getting the blessing doesn't begin with 00:21:54.68\00:22:04.79 pardon, it doesn't begin with forgiveness, it actually begins when the lie finally collapses. 00:22:04.82\00:22:16.70 It is when her stuff is put on the front street, that is not a punishing act. It's oh, you all 00:22:16.73\00:22:19.13 got quiet here. [Congregation: Amen] 00:22:19.17\00:22:20.04 It's a saving act: 00:22:20.07\00:22:22.60 [Congregation: Amen] 00:22:22.64\00:22:23.91 I need you to get that this sister her heart, 00:22:23.94\00:22:26.04 her heart is so darkened by these habits that she cannot be made repentant through sermon or 00:22:26.07\00:22:33.92 counsel. You see, I need you to get this about this lady 00:22:33.95\00:22:36.69 because the Bible lets us know that one of the things about sin is that it thrives in darkness. 00:22:36.72\00:22:42.16 And one of the things, do I have a witness that when you first 00:22:42.19\00:22:46.86 start in any sin, you're very careful about covering up your tracks and making sure that 00:22:46.90\00:22:52.50 nobody sees what you're doing. But the problem with sin is that the more you get away with it, 00:22:52.53\00:22:58.54 the more Invincible you become and the less cautious you are in 00:22:58.57\00:23:02.61 your covering. So at first, when the lady would go over to John's house, what would happen is she 00:23:02.64\00:23:09.32 would make sure to see who was watching. She would have a watch out on one side but 00:23:09.35\00:23:11.69 because she's gotten away with it so long that she's woken up in that joint in broad daylight, 00:23:11.72\00:23:17.16 in fact, she is so consistent that her enemies don't have to 00:23:17.19\00:23:23.83 look for her. [Congregation: Amen] 00:23:23.87\00:23:25.97 All they got to do is wait for her because they know every Tuesday, every Thursday, and 00:23:26.00\00:23:31.77 every Saturday night, she going to be creeping over at John's house. Are you all with me 00:23:31.81\00:23:37.38 today? [Congregation: Amen] 00:23:37.41\00:23:38.58 And I need somebody to know that somebody's always watching. 00:23:38.61\00:23:46.15 [Congregation: Amen/Clapping] 00:23:46.19\00:23:48.19 She had this to get that one thing about human nature and it's not just you, it's human 00:23:48.22\00:23:54.10 nature. Human nature has a bend toward evil. Are you all still 00:23:54.13\00:23:57.53 with me, church? [Congregation: Amen] 00:23:57.57\00:23:59.30 We have a natural inclination toward sin and not just saying but the covering of our sin. 00:23:59.33\00:24:04.91 The problem with sometimes is that God is so merciful that God won't let you blow up the first 00:24:04.94\00:24:12.05 time. What he will do is he will allow some grace. But what happens is we confuse grace as a 00:24:12.08\00:24:17.79 license for sin. [Congregation: Amen] 00:24:17.82\00:24:19.99 And what should be helping us turn around actually makes us bolder in our dirt. You are all 00:24:20.02\00:24:25.93 at the brand-new today? [Congregation: Amen/Clapping] 00:24:25.96\00:24:27.40 Because it's quite as it's kept, though nobody gets caught the 00:24:27.40\00:24:33.23 first time. [Congregation: Laughing] 00:24:33.27\00:24:35.20 Come on, tell the truth. That's what you told your parents, but nobody gets pregnant the first 00:24:35.24\00:24:43.24 time. There are some scares along the way, but we didn't turn around am I telling the 00:24:43.28\00:24:48.25 truth? like, nobody goes to jail for the first crime they commit. In other words, there are 00:24:48.28\00:24:52.72 usually. They can anybody look back at their life 00:24:52.75\00:24:54.79 and realize that there were some times there was some margin where God gave us to turn 00:24:54.82\00:25:01.16 around. But the problem is that some of us will not turn around until certain things are drawn 00:25:01.20\00:25:09.07 from the darkness. [Congregation: Amen] 00:25:09.10\00:25:10.67 And put into the light. And so I need us to understand something 00:25:10.71\00:25:15.54 about the truth. Like for those that are living with a lie right now, I need you to know man, the 00:25:15.58\00:25:23.85 truth is the one element that cannot die. [Congregation: Amen] 00:25:23.89\00:25:25.52 I mean, the truth is like that blade of grass that burst through the concrete crack. 00:25:25.55\00:25:30.73 And I want to encourage somebody that is living with a painful lie, I need you to know, 00:25:30.76\00:25:36.03 the one thing about secret sin is that it's strongest in 00:25:36.06\00:25:40.70 secret. And that's what God has done certain things hit the 00:25:40.74\00:25:44.24 light because it is not until it hits the light that we can find 00:25:44.27\00:25:48.58 our salvation. I need us to kind of think through this with the 00:25:48.61\00:25:51.31 scriptures because I needed to know that some of the greatest blessings in the scripture are 00:25:51.35\00:25:57.15 when some people got caught. And you see, the blessing of the woman is not just when she was 00:25:57.19\00:26:02.76 forgiven, it was when she got caught. I can see you all still are not convinced. Let's look at 00:26:02.79\00:26:09.90 my man Samson. He had gotten away with it, and he always had his strength but he didn't turn 00:26:09.93\00:26:17.31 around and depend on God until he got caught and that's when he realized that his help came from 00:26:17.34\00:26:23.58 God. You all still aren't convinced. Remember your boy, Jonah was doing good, running 00:26:23.61\00:26:27.72 from the presence of God but he didn't realize his full potential until he got caught in 00:26:27.75\00:26:33.89 the belly of a whale and then he made supplication unto God. Okay, you'll be convinced here. 00:26:33.92\00:26:39.23 Remember there was a thief on the cross who is out there living his best life 00:26:39.26\00:26:44.77 and had gotten away with it. But one day he was caught and put on the cross next to Jesus, 00:26:44.80\00:26:51.34 and it was there on the cross that he met his savior, we're saying today I say unto you that 00:26:51.37\00:27:01.52 you will be with me in paradise. In other words, God blesses some by covering, and sometimes he 00:27:01.55\00:27:09.76 saves you by letting it come to the light.
