Sermon #S006 - "Shame On Us" 00:00:06.00\00:00:20.38 Pastor Snell: I want to invite you, saints, to go with me in your Bibles to the Book of Luke 00:00:20.42\00:00:30.49 10, Luke 10:25. Today, I want to really just talk to us as a 00:00:30.53\00:00:36.53 church local and to those who are watching online from other 00:00:36.56\00:00:40.84 places. There's some things that the church universal needs to hear from the word. 00:00:40.87\00:00:46.34 Luke 10:25, when you get there, just say, "I'm here, Pastor." 00:00:46.37\00:00:52.78 Luke 10:25. [Congregation: Laughing] just stand next to them next Sabbath. When I say 00:00:52.81\00:00:54.55 it, say it from your heart. Let them know, "You look good in the house today." Turn to your 00:00:54.58\00:00:55.08 neighbor on the other side. Come on and say it. 00:00:55.12\00:00:56.65 Luke10:25, Jesus says, "And beholds, a certain lawyer stood 00:00:56.69\00:00:59.82 up and tested him, saying , 'Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?' He said 00:00:59.85\00:01:07.76 unto him, 'What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?' So he answered and said, 00:01:07.76\00:01:15.07 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your 00:01:15.10\00:01:21.04 strength, and with all your mind,' and ‘your neighbor as yourself.' And He said to him, 00:01:21.08\00:01:27.75 'You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.' But he, wanting to justify himself, said 00:01:27.78\00:01:34.19 to Jesus, 'And who is my neighbor?' Then Jesus answered and said: 'A certain man went 00:01:34.22\00:01:41.13 down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell amongst thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, 00:01:41.16\00:01:47.40 wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now, by chance, a certain priest came 00:01:47.44\00:01:56.01 down that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he 00:01:56.04\00:02:03.99 arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as 00:02:04.02\00:02:11.13 he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him 00:02:11.16\00:02:19.90 and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, and brought him 00:02:19.93\00:02:25.87 to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two 00:02:25.91\00:02:32.38 denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever 00:02:32.41\00:02:37.15 more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.' So which of these three do you 00:02:37.19\00:02:43.99 think was neighbor to him who fell amongst the thieves? And he said, 'He who showed mercy on 00:02:44.03\00:02:51.73 him.' Then Jesus said to him, 'Go and do likewise.'" I want to emphasize verse 31, "Now, by 00:02:51.77\00:03:01.74 chance, a certain priest came down that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other 00:03:01.78\00:03:11.69 side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the 00:03:11.72\00:03:18.49 other side." Today, saints, I want to talk for a little while under the subject, Shame on Us. 00:03:18.53\00:03:23.70 Shame on us. Let's pray. Father, the same way You took two fish into and five loaves and You 00:03:23.73\00:03:31.51 multiply it, I'm praying that You would take my little and that You would make it 00:03:31.54\00:03:36.85 sufficient for many. Lord, I need your strength to be perfected in human weakness, 00:03:36.88\00:03:41.28 frailty, and lack. Lord, I'm praying that in the hearing of 00:03:41.32\00:03:44.25 the word, we would get a sense of what it is that You require for us in this time. 00:03:44.29\00:03:49.49 Lord, would You please hide me In the Shadows of the cross, that Jesus alone might be seen, 00:03:49.52\00:03:55.76 that Christ alone would be heard. At the end of our time together, may Jesus alone be 00:03:55.80\00:04:01.97 praised. We ask this in the name of him who is altogether lovely. It is in the name of Jesus, that 00:04:02.00\00:04:08.88 we pray. Let God's people say together "Amen." And Amen. You may be seated in the house of 00:04:08.91\00:04:14.65 God. You know, saints, our text today has many implications that need to be considered. 00:04:14.68\00:04:21.52 The very first thing this teaches us is that your love for God is not personal or 00:04:21.56\00:04:31.80 invisible. Here, we find Jesus surrounded by a very mixed sort 00:04:31.83\00:04:38.07 of crowd. First, you have the 70, who have come back to report to Jesus the great works that 00:04:38.11\00:04:45.98 they have done in His name. Supplementing the 70, you have the religious establishment of 00:04:46.01\00:04:54.52 the day who have shown up in an attempt to discredit Jesus. Out of this group, you have a lawyer 00:04:54.56\00:05:02.70 or doctor of the law who stands up and makes the inquiry. He asked. Jesus, "What must I do to 00:05:02.73\00:05:10.17 inherit eternal life?" Jesus, understanding that his goal was not to know, his goal was to 00:05:10.21\00:05:17.08 discredit, he then centers His answers on the lawyer's understanding of the law. He 00:05:17.11\00:05:24.85 asked the question, "What does the law say? How do you understand it to read?" 00:05:24.89\00:05:30.16 The man then replies that the law says that you are to love God with all of your heart, 00:05:30.19\00:05:36.16 with all of your mind and all of your strength. 00:05:36.20\00:05:40.00 The second commandment is that you love your neighbor as 00:05:40.04\00:05:44.91 yourself. The first thing this teaches, friends, is that your love for God is not invisible. 00:05:44.94\00:05:52.51 You see the problem, saints, is we see the two great Commandments as distinct and 00:05:52.55\00:06:00.72 separate Commandments, when the truth is that the second commandment is an outgrowth or a 00:06:00.76\00:06:08.50 revelation of the first. Remember Jesus said, when he summarized the two, 00:06:08.53\00:06:12.17 that you shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, all of your mind, and all of 00:06:12.20\00:06:19.67 your soul. He says that the second is likened unto it, that you love your neighbor as 00:06:19.71\00:06:27.65 yourself. Now, understand, in the Greek, when Jesus says that the second is liken unto it, 00:06:27.68\00:06:34.06 that word liken means that it is reflecting, that it is similar, that it is twinning the first 00:06:34.09\00:06:43.26 commandment. In other words, the second commandment is the proof or the evidence of the first 00:06:43.30\00:06:51.81 commandment. You all didn't catch that. In other words, your love for God is going to be 00:06:51.84\00:06:58.58 mirrored or reflected in your love for your neighbor. I want to lay this out there, church, 00:06:58.61\00:07:07.26 so that we have clarity. Because too often, we measure our love for God in very insulated ways, 00:07:07.29\00:07:13.56 so that when we're trying to track our love for God, what we evaluate is how much we study, 00:07:13.60\00:07:20.10 how much we pray, our Sabbath-keeping, and our sin 00:07:20.14\00:07:26.91 patterns, but those things lose value if the byproduct is not Christ-like love for your 00:07:26.94\00:07:33.98 neighbor. Let me say it this way, 00:07:34.02\00:07:35.95 that you become a Commandment breaker if the only person that benefits from your walk with God 00:07:35.98\00:07:45.56 is you. See, Jesus says that you can't love the God you've never 00:07:45.59\00:07:52.07 seen. If you can't love those who are created In His Image, in other words, saints, 00:07:52.10\00:07:57.61 if your life only impacts you, then you don't love God. If you're only a blessing to 00:07:57.64\00:08:06.78 yourself, you don't love God. If you're only concerned with your comfort, you don't love God. 00:08:06.82\00:08:13.15 If you're only concern is building your brand, then you 00:08:13.19\00:08:18.06 don't love God. Some of you are sitting with offense saying, "Pastor, you don't know how much 00:08:18.09\00:08:23.90 I pray. You don't know how much I study. You don't know how well I keep the Sabbath," 00:08:23.93\00:08:30.01 but Jesus is trying to get us to know that true religion, 00:08:30.04\00:08:35.01 that present truth is not how impacted you are by the gospel. It's how impactful you are for 00:08:35.04\00:08:44.52 the gospel. Let me say it again. That true real religion is not just how impacted I am by the 00:08:44.55\00:08:52.16 gospel. It's how impactful I've been for the gospel. Because just like the Jews of old, 00:08:52.19\00:08:58.57 you can sit in a Sabbath School class and debate theological intricacies all day. 00:08:58.60\00:09:04.94 You can be a part of 17 prayer groups inside of the church. In fact, some of us can sit at home 00:09:04.97\00:09:12.45 and you can watch a sermon on Eastern time and Central time, and again, on Pacific time, 00:09:12.48\00:09:19.75 but the issue with the contemporary church is that we have become consumer believers. 00:09:19.79\00:09:27.30 In other words, look at the language that has been popularized in the church in our 00:09:27.30\00:09:33.64 time. Look at how we talk in the things that we expose. 00:09:33.67\00:09:36.60 You'll realize that the language of the contemporary church is all about increase, 00:09:36.64\00:09:42.91 but John the Baptist says our goal should be to decrease. 00:09:42.94\00:09:47.32 In the contemporary church, it is popular to say, "I claim 00:09:47.35\00:09:51.79 that," when the truth is we ought to be saying, "I share that." In the contemporary 00:09:51.82\00:09:57.29 church, our goal is to receive it and not necessarily to give 00:09:57.33\00:10:02.20 it. In our time, we want to be in the overflow so that we have 00:10:02.23\00:10:06.60 a lot, but we learned last week that the overflow is the blessing that you share with 00:10:06.63\00:10:13.64 those that are in close proximity to you. 00:10:13.68\00:10:15.31 The thing I want somebody to get is that true Christianity may be formed in the closet, 00:10:15.34\00:10:22.18 but guess what? It shows up with those that you are in contact 00:10:22.22\00:10:27.79 with. How many of us know that the truest measure of Christianity is your love? 00:10:27.82\00:10:33.93 Are you all hearing me today, saints? 00:10:33.96\00:10:36.00 In other words, the measure of your walk with God is not what you wear or don't wear. 00:10:36.03\00:10:41.34 It's not in what you eat or don't eat. 00:10:41.37\00:10:44.01 It's not in what time you keep the Sabbath or shut off the 00:10:44.04\00:10:48.88 television. It doesn't really matter. If you don't have love for your neighbor. Okay, I see 00:10:48.91\00:10:56.12 some of us are not convinced. Look here in Desire of Ages page 502, there is a stunning 00:10:56.15\00:11:04.23 statement I need somebody to here. In fact, she says that many who profess His name have 00:11:04.26\00:11:13.67 lost sight of the fact that Christians are to represent Christ unless there is practical 00:11:13.70\00:11:22.14 self-sacrifice for the good of others in the family circle, in the neighborhood, in the church, 00:11:22.18\00:11:33.25 and wherever we may be. Then, whatever we profess, we are not Christians. Did you all catch 00:11:33.29\00:11:34.99 that today? In other words, she's saying unless you have loved, it doesn't matter what 00:11:35.02\00:11:41.53 you profess. Your Christianity shows up in your home. It shows up in your neighborhood. 00:11:41.56\00:11:46.90 It reveals itself wherever you are. Anything less than that means that you're not a 00:11:46.94\00:11:55.21 Christian. See, I need us to understand that we've got to shift out of a consumer-based 00:11:55.24\00:12:02.95 religion, where it's about how much I receive and realize that it's more about what I give. 00:12:02.98\00:12:09.06 Okay. You all are sitting on your hands today. 00:12:09.09\00:12:10.99 Let me say it this way. Have you ever noticed, saints, that whenever you get a new cellular 00:12:11.03\00:12:12.69 phone, Are you all hearing the word today, saints? Go back with me, if you will, to Luke 10, 00:12:12.73\00:12:14.93 and I want you to look together at verse 29. Luke 10:29, the 00:12:14.96\00:12:23.64 Bible says, "But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, 'Who is my neighbor?' 00:12:23.67\00:12:29.58 Then Jesus answered and said, 'A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, 00:12:29.61\00:12:34.42 and fell amongst thieves who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him and departed, 00:12:34.45\00:12:40.89 leaving him half dead. Now, by chance, a certain priest came 00:12:40.92\00:12:45.69 down that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he 00:12:45.73\00:12:53.40 arrived at the same place, came and looked, and he also passed by on the other side." You see 00:12:53.44\00:13:01.34 the second thing this story teaches us, friends of mine, is that our problem is not our 00:13:01.38\00:13:12.15 message. Sometimes, our problem is the messengers. I need you to get that the problem is not 00:13:12.19\00:13:19.89 always the message. Sometimes, the problem is bad messengers. Now, I need you to see 00:13:19.93\00:13:22.80 something. This parable that Jesus tells is actually literally designed to shame the 00:13:22.83\00:13:32.07 Jewish religious establishment. What Jesus does is he juxtaposes the fictional actions of a 00:13:32.11\00:13:40.25 Levite and a priest, and he contrasts them with the actions of a Samaritan, who the Jews see 00:13:40.28\00:13:48.42 as an outsider, whose life is less valuable than that of a dog. Understand, saints, 00:13:48.46\00:13:53.90 that this shame is actually twofold because the wounded man had to find God's love outside 00:13:53.93\00:14:03.51 of the church. He also had to find love outside of his ethnic 00:14:03.54\00:14:09.21 community, and that he could only find help from one who was 00:14:09.24\00:14:13.85 a Samaritan. See, as the story has laid out, 00:14:13.88\00:14:17.15 the Bible says that there is a man that is traveling from Jericho to Jerusalem. On his 00:14:17.19\00:14:24.39 journey, he falls amongst thieves who beat him bloody. The Bible says that they leave him 00:14:24.43\00:14:31.30 for dead. It so happens that on that particular day, there was a priest, a representative of the 00:14:31.33\00:14:39.34 religious community, that sees him bleeding out on the ground, looks at him and passes by on 00:14:39.37\00:14:47.45 the other side. Then, you have a Levite, who is also a part of the priestly community, who also 00:14:47.48\00:14:55.42 looks at him, observes his pain, assesses his situation, collects 00:14:55.46\00:15:02.66 data for a study, but the Bible says he doesn't do nothing about it. He also passes by on the 00:15:02.70\00:15:09.97 other side. Now, friends of mine, lend me your imagination 00:15:10.01\00:15:15.78 for a moment. See, I'm not sure how much consciousness the 00:15:15.81\00:15:23.22 wounded man has. In other words, he is not dead, but we're not told how much awareness he has 00:15:23.25\00:15:30.86 of what's happening. Could you imagine if this man was able, as he looks on the ground, 00:15:30.89\00:15:39.10 to see the blue border of the priest garment and phylacteries passing by him in his moment of 00:15:39.13\00:15:47.21 pain? Could you imagine that he could smell the incense in the 00:15:47.24\00:15:53.15 Levite's clothes, that wasps over the veil from outside of the altar as he, too, passes by 00:15:53.18\00:16:01.82 and leaves him in his pain? In other words, what if he notices that the representatives of the 00:16:01.86\00:16:09.80 body passed by and leave him in his pain? What is his response to religion going to be when he 00:16:09.83\00:16:18.87 comes to? When he wakes up and realizes that his bill and comfort and care has come from 00:16:18.91\00:16:25.01 someone outside of the faith community, you realize that no one in the church is going to be 00:16:25.05\00:16:31.55 able to talk to him about the goodness of God. He's not going to receive nothing about the 00:16:31.59\00:16:35.46 power of prayer. He's not going to entertain anything about you coming to church and being a 00:16:35.49\00:16:41.60 part of a fellowship. See, the problem is that we would look at somebody with that disposition 00:16:41.63\00:16:49.30 and say their issue is that they're rejecting the message. The problem is that they become 00:16:49.34\00:16:57.15 sour on the messengers. See, how many of us know that when people have been wounded by messengers, 00:16:57.18\00:17:03.69 by and large, they don't parse out the difference between the message and the messenger. 00:17:03.72\00:17:08.29 What they do is they tend to lump it all together. What I'm saying to the body is that, 00:17:08.32\00:17:14.63 sometimes, the issue with the Adventist Church is not that we have the wrong message. 00:17:14.66\00:17:20.44 In many instances, we have empowered the wrong messengers. 00:17:20.47\00:17:25.24 [Congregation: Clapping] 00:17:25.27\00:17:26.31 Okay. Let me say it this way. 00:17:26.34\00:17:28.51 Has anybody ever been to the church where they have the meanest ushers in the world 00:17:28.54\00:17:35.22 working at the door? In other words, 00:17:35.25\00:17:37.22 their goal is to keep you outside of the service instead of getting you a seat inside of 00:17:37.25\00:17:43.69 the service. Have you ever been to the church where you've got the mean deaconess who's always 00:17:43.73\00:17:51.27 trying to correct young people without connecting with young people? In other words, it's all 00:17:51.30\00:17:57.71 about correction, but there is never any connection. 00:17:57.74\00:18:00.94 Has anybody seen the church where the health people become 00:18:00.98\00:18:06.72 the food police? They literally walk around at fellowship dinner pointing out what you should and 00:18:06.75\00:18:13.79 you should not be eating. Has anybody grown up in the church where the church board 00:18:13.82\00:18:20.96 disfellowships every girl that gets pregnant, but the boy that got her pregnant is on the 00:18:20.96\00:18:28.47 Junior Deacon bench and still on the church basketball team? Are you all hear what I'm saying? 00:18:28.50\00:18:33.14 See, the problem is we think folk leave because they don't like the message, but the issue 00:18:33.17\00:18:39.71 is that we got bad messengers representing the work of God. Are you all hearing me today, 00:18:39.75\00:18:41.65 saints? See, it's just like this. I remember probably about two or three years ago. Here in 00:18:41.68\00:18:42.75 Bridge Street, See, in this moment, beloved, in this moment 00:18:42.78\00:18:45.49 of need, I need you to notice that the church has nothing to 00:18:45.52\00:18:53.90 offer him. See, the shame that Jesus is trying to communicate is that His people have to find 00:18:53.93\00:19:05.34 love outside of the church. The shame of the contemporary black church is that we have too many 00:19:05.37\00:19:12.51 of in our communities that have to experience the love of God outside of the community of 00:19:12.55\00:19:19.75 faith. You see, friends of mine. You know what the appeal of a 00:19:19.79\00:19:24.19 gang is? You see, friends of mine, you know what the appeal of a gang is. You se appeal of 00:19:24.23\00:19:25.86 the gang. It's not access to a weapon. 00:19:25.89\00:19:28.50 The appeal of a gang is having a sense of belonging for somebody who's not going to judge me, 00:19:28.53\00:19:34.57 but just receive me. Do you realize what the appeal of a 00:19:34.60\00:19:39.74 pimp is? The appeal of a pimp is not just to get paid, but it's to know that somebody's going to 00:19:39.77\00:19:46.05 be covering me and looking out for me. Do you realize the appeal of the frat or the 00:19:46.08\00:19:51.92 sorority? It's to know that there is a community that's going to help outline my 00:19:51.95\00:19:56.86 success, and then celebrate it when it comes forward. Do you realize that these things have 00:19:56.89\00:20:03.40 such a spill and appeal on our community because they can't get that type of covering? 00:20:03.43\00:20:08.80 They can't get that type of belonging. They can't get that type of support inside of the 00:20:08.84\00:20:16.38 household of faith. Are you hearing me, saints? 00:20:16.41\00:20:19.35 See, sometimes the issue is that we've got great services, but we have bad community services. 00:20:19.38\00:20:28.46 See, if the priest and the Levite did what the Samaritan 00:20:28.49\00:20:36.26 did , you realize that they would have to keep that brother 00:20:36.30\00:20:41.60 out of church. But because of what they did not do, they will never be able to even force him 00:20:41.64\00:20:47.98 into the church. Are you all hearing what I'm saying, saints. 00:20:48.01\00:20:50.11 See, I need us to understand that the secret sauce to evangelism and church growth in 00:20:50.15\00:20:57.85 our time is not that we don't do tense anymore. It's not that we aren't studying with folk long 00:20:57.89\00:21:02.29 enough. The issue is not that we're not doing what we used to do. The issue is that we don't 00:21:02.32\00:21:08.36 have enough love in the body of Christ. 00:21:08.40\00:21:10.27 [Congregation: Clapping] 00:21:10.30\00:21:12.03 Pastor Snell: You all will believe this Testimonies for the Church Volume 9. Look at this. 00:21:12.07\00:21:16.30 Hear me on this, saints. Listen to what the prophet is saying to 00:21:16.34\00:21:20.84 the church. I need you all to know that there is a secret sauce, and is already in the 00:21:20.88\00:21:26.31 pews of the body. She literally says if we would humble ourselves before God, and be 00:21:26.35\00:21:35.12 kind, and courteous, and tender-hearted, and pitiful, watch this, there would be 100 00:21:35.16\00:21:45.73 conversions to the truth, where there is now, only one. In other words, if we love like Jesus, if 00:21:45.77\00:21:51.11 we cared like Jesus, take the number of folks that were baptized into your church. 00:21:51.14\00:21:55.14 If we love like that, multiply it times 100, 00:21:55.18\00:21:59.01 and you would have a harvest that's greater than what your church can contain. 00:21:59.05\00:22:03.12 It's funny because this brother would function as an unbelieving 00:22:03.15\00:22:09.89 person simply because the church could not do anything for him. Let me ask a question. 00:22:09.92\00:22:14.30 Why would you join a community that can do nothing for you? 00:22:14.36\00:22:22.40 Why would you join a community that passed by your pain, that 00:22:22.44\00:22:30.68 notices your pain, but doesn't do anything to facilitate your pain? What I'm saying is the 00:22:30.71\00:22:37.52 reason the church, not just local, but global, the reason we're not winning our 00:22:37.55\00:22:42.49 communities is because we don't have nothing to offer them. 00:22:42.52\00:22:46.93 If your church is in a community that's full of academically challenged children, 00:22:46.96\00:22:52.40 where then is your ministry for academically challenged 00:22:52.43\00:22:56.47 children? If your church is in a community where you've got a lot of ex-cons or offenders, 00:22:56.50\00:23:01.78 where then is your ministry to welcome back our brothers and sisters from incarceration? 00:23:01.81\00:23:06.85 If your church is in a community that is filled with single 00:23:06.88\00:23:11.62 parents, where then is your ministry designed to build 00:23:11.65\00:23:15.56 single parents? If your church is in a community where there are a lot of international 00:23:15.59\00:23:21.10 refugees, where then is your ministry to grow and build those 00:23:21.13\00:23:25.50 refugees? If your church is in a community where there's a lot of 00:23:25.53\00:23:29.67 mental illness, where then is your ministry that's designed for mental illness? 00:23:29.70\00:23:33.71 If your church is in a community where there's drug addiction and 00:23:33.74\00:23:37.71 violence, then where is the ministry to address drug addiction and violence? 00:23:37.75\00:23:42.35 What I'm saying is we got to stop all the surveys. Stop gathering all this information. 00:23:42.38\00:23:47.06 The needs are glaring and obvious. We've got to build our ministry not around what we 00:23:47.09\00:23:54.40 like, not around what blesses us. 00:23:54.46\00:23:56.46 We've got to build the ministry around that which is going to bless the community. 00:23:56.50\00:24:03.54 [Congregation: Clapping] 00:24:03.57\00:24:05.57 Pastor Snell: What I need somebody to understand is that what you offer determines the 00:24:05.61\00:24:12.08 kind of clientele you are going to receive. Let me say it this way. You see, as a brother, 00:24:12.11\00:24:18.95 I don't go shop in Victoria's Secret. Well, I do. 00:24:18.99\00:24:25.63 [Congregation: Laughing] 00:24:25.66\00:24:27.30 Pastor Snell: But it ain't really for me. Are you all too holy? You're on the Spirit. 00:24:27.36\00:24:31.77 You all love the Lord more than me. Come on, brothers. Every now 00:24:31.80\00:24:34.80 and then... In other words, I don't go there because guess what? They ain't got nothing for 00:24:34.84\00:24:42.61 me to wear. Do I have a witness? In other words, what they offer determines the clientele. 00:24:42.64\00:24:50.55 In other words, there are certain stores that, as a brother, with a little extra 00:24:50.59\00:24:57.53 anointing. [Congregation: Laughing] 00:24:57.56\00:24:59.06 Pastor Snell: Anybody else got a little extra anointing? Come on 00:24:59.09\00:25:02.30 and save it. You realize that there are certain stores you 00:25:02.33\00:25:06.80 can't even shop in because they only have a size that's going to 00:25:06.84\00:25:12.94 fit small people. In other words, what they offer is going to determine who their clientele 00:25:12.97\00:25:18.71 is. In other words, I went into one store and I even have my 00:25:18.75\00:25:22.35 size. I put my leg and I couldn't get my leg all the way 00:25:22.38\00:25:25.39 in. In other words, it's a store that only caters to people that are in perfect shape. 00:25:25.42\00:25:31.89 I guess what I'm saying is we got to be careful about not just catering to people who are in 00:25:31.93\00:25:39.10 perfect shape. We've got to be a people that's going to receive not just one size or one class. 00:25:39.13\00:25:45.41 God says, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all 00:25:45.44\00:25:51.35 nations." How many of us know that we don't just want people from other churches, but guess 00:25:51.38\00:25:56.89 what? We ought to want some smoking people in this church. We ought to want some drinking 00:25:56.92\00:26:02.26 people in this. We ought to receive some shocking people in this church. We ought to want 00:26:02.29\00:26:09.26 some cursing people in this church. Jesus said the whole have no need of a physician, 00:26:09.30\00:26:13.44 but He said, "I have come to seek and save that which is 00:26:13.47\00:26:19.81 lost." Is there anybody that was once lost and you're now found? 00:26:19.84\00:26:24.71 And you just want to praise God that He don't just cater to those in perfect shape. 00:26:24.75\00:26:31.25 But He says, "I'll take your defects. I'll love your love handles. I'll take your 00:26:31.29\00:26:37.56 cellulite. Whatever's wrong with you, you got a place in Me." Are you hearing me today, saints? 00:26:37.59\00:26:48.00 Pastor Snell: Praise God everyone, thank you so much for allowing us to bring the gospel 00:26:48.04\00:26:53.14 right there to your living room today. Listen I want to encourage you to make sure you 00:26:53.17\00:26:56.71 come back next week same place, same time as I give you 00:26:56.75\00:27:00.45 Part #2 of the message entitled "Shame On Us". I want you to the second half is going to be even 00:27:00.48\00:27:06.29 better than the fist half, so make sure you see us again next 00:27:06.32\00:27:10.49 week. (Breath of Life Music) 00:27:10.53\00:27:34.78 Pastor Snell: Hi, I'm Debleaire Snell. Have you ever been in a place where as soon as you 00:27:34.82\00:27:40.62 started believing big, praying big and thinking big someone told you that you need to be 00:27:40.66\00:27:47.93 more realistic? It was unrealistic for Jesus to say 00:27:47.96\00:27:50.20 I'm going to lay down my life and in three days I'm going to pick it back up again. 00:27:50.23\00:27:54.64 I want to encouarge you to put down your commonly held beliefs 00:27:54.67\00:27:58.37 and it's time for us to "Get Unrealistic" 00:27:58.41\00:28:02.71 (MUSIC) 00:28:02.74\00:28:05.45 [End] 00:28:05.48\00:28:20.50
