00:01 (Theme Song) Jesus is worthy oh yes,
00:12 he's worthy worthy of all...
00:17 all the praise.
00:20 Pastor Byrd: We look at our subject tonight
00:22 and yes, we're going to talk about what you put in your body,
00:26 what you put on your body, and what you let people
00:30 do to your body.
00:31 Come on, say amen.
00:32 Our bodies are God's temples and that's what we're going
00:37 to discuss tonight.
00:38 And with that in mind, let's get started
00:40 with the Word of God.
00:42 Take your Bibles and repeat after me, as we do every
00:44 night.
00:45 Every promise in this book is mine.
00:47 Aud.: Every promise in this book is mine.
00:49 PB: Every chapter, every verse, every line.
00:51 Aud.: Every chapter, every verse, every line.
00:53 PB: I am saved by His grace divine.
00:55 Aud.: I am saved by His grace divine.
00:57 PB: Every promise in this book is mine.
00:59 Aud.: Every promise in this book is mine.
01:01 PB: Father in heaven, we thank You tonight
01:03 for bringing us once again to study Your Word as we
01:06 are enlightened through this revival.
01:09 We pray and ask for Your power and Your Spirit
01:11 to speak to us, through us.
01:14 In the name of Jesus we pray, every night.
01:18 Amen.
01:19 Does everyone like to eat?
01:21 If you like to eat, let me hear you say amen.
01:23 Aud.: Amen.
01:24 PB: If you like to eat real good, let me hear you say
01:27 amen.
01:28 Aud.: Amen.
01:29 PB: Well, I pray after tonight you still enjoy
01:31 eating.
01:32 Come on, say amen.
01:33 Aud.: Amen.
01:34 PB: Tonight, as we begin, it's very interesting, in our
01:36 country today you hear a lot about our bodies.
01:38 You hear a lot about exercise.
01:40 In fact, the president of our country, his wife is on this
01:42 big initiative fighting child obesity.
01:47 I did a little research and found out that 40 million
01:50 people in the United States.
01:52 And so we have a population here in this country,
01:55 documented population of 300 million.
01:57 Forty of the 300 million belong to 26,000 health
02:03 clubs.
02:04 In fact, when you go into a hotel today and you stay
02:08 in a hotel, there are several amenities that you look
02:12 into having at that hotel.
02:14 One, everyone wants to know do you have wifi.
02:17 Then another question is asked, do you have a flat
02:20 screen TV?
02:21 Do you have a business center?
02:23 But then I've discovered that one of the biggest questions
02:25 that potential guests at a hotel might have,
02:29 or the questions they might have.
02:31 Do you have a health club?
02:34 Today you'll go into apartment complexes, and one
02:37 of the things you'll ask is what amenities do you have.
02:39 Do you have a health club?
02:43 People today are more concerned about their health
02:48 than ever before.
02:50 People are so concerned about their health, that's why we
02:52 have all this discussion, all this debate, about the
02:55 Affordable Care Act, because people want to be able to get
02:59 health care.
03:01 Well, nothing in recent years seems to have improved
03:05 the health of people as much as the increasing cost
03:09 of being sick.
03:11 It appears that our health is more valuable to us after
03:16 we lose it.
03:18 You see, it's when we go to the doctor, and the doctor
03:20 tells us we have high blood pressure, or the doctor tells
03:22 us we have to exercise.
03:23 That's when we think, hey, we've got to get this thing
03:26 under control, because if we don't get this thing under
03:29 control something bad is going to happen.
03:32 But unfortunately, by the time most people discover
03:35 that good health is everything, they've already lost it.
03:40 But many people suffer from poor health, not because
03:44 of what they eat but because of what is eating them.
03:49 So tonight, let me quickly give you some counsel.
03:52 The only way to keep your good health is to eat what
03:57 you don't like, drink what you don't like, and do
04:02 what you'd rather not do.
04:04 So let's practice that.
04:05 Repeat after me.
04:06 Say, eat what you don't like.
04:08 Aud.: Eat what you don't like.
04:10 PB: Drink what you don't like.
04:12 Aud.: Drink what you don't like.
04:14 PB: And do what you'd rather not do.
04:17 Aud.: Do what you'd rather not do.
04:19 PB: Now, any physician, any doctor will tell you that.
04:22 But tonight I want you to save your money, save
04:24 the co-pay so you can put it in the offering after
04:27 the revival.
04:28 Come on, say amen.
04:29 And go to the Word of God.
04:32 The Bible has everything that we need.
04:36 Can you say amen?
04:37 You will remember, in Jesus' ministry, His ministry
04:40 was not just preaching, His ministry was not just
04:44 teaching, but His ministry was also healing.
04:46 It was also what, everybody?
04:47 Aud.: Healing.
04:48 PB: Which means that God created us, and because God
04:51 created us God knows what's best for us.
04:56 Do you believe that tonight?
04:57 Do you believe that God knows what's best for us?
04:59 If you believe that, turn with me to the book of First
05:02 Corinthians.
05:03 What book did I say, everybody?
05:05 Aud.: First Corinthians.
05:06 PB: And let's go to 1 Corinthians,
05:08 and we're going to chapter 10.
05:09 And let's go to verse number 31.
05:11 This text is our premise for tonight.
05:13 First Corinthians chapter 10, and we're going to verse
05:15 number 31.
05:16 First Corinthians chapter 10, and we're going to verse
05:21 number 31.
05:22 The Word of God says to us in 1 Corinthians 10:31.
05:25 If you have it, let me hear you say amen.
05:27 Aud.: Amen.
05:28 PB: The Word says tonight, 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether
05:31 therefore ye," what?
05:32 Aud.: Eat.
05:33 PB: Come on, whether therefore ye what?
05:35 Aud.: Eat.
05:36 PB: Eat or what?
05:37 Aud.: Drink.
05:38 PB: "Or whatsoever ye," what?
05:39 Aud.: Do.
05:40 PB: "Do all to the glory of," whom, everybody?
05:42 Aud.: God.
05:43 PB: Let's try it one more time.
05:44 "Whether therefore ye" what?
05:45 Aud.: Eat.
05:46 PB: Eat or what?
05:47 Aud.: Drink.
05:48 PB: "Or whatsoever ye" what?
05:49 Aud.: Do.
05:50 PB: "Do all to the glory of" whom, everybody?
05:52 Aud.: God.
05:53 PB: Now, number one, we begin tonight recognizing our bodies
05:55 are God's temples.
05:56 Our bodies are God's temples.
05:58 So, as followers of Jesus Christ we then have to watch
06:02 what we put in our bodies.
06:04 Our body is God's temple.
06:06 Go to 1 Corinthians 6.
06:08 Let's go to chapter 6.
06:09 First Corinthians chapter 6, and the Word of God says in
06:13 verses 19 and 20, "What?
06:15 know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
06:18 which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
06:22 For ye are bought with a," what, everybody?
06:24 Aud.: Price.
06:25 PB: Come one, "Ye are bought with a" what, everybody?
06:28 Aud.: Price.
06:29 PB: Price.
06:30 "Therefore glorify God in your body, and in your
06:32 spirit, which are God's."
06:33 So now, because our body is God's temple, I want you
06:36 to repeat after me, because tonight I want you to memorize
06:39 this little chorus we're going to say, so that all week
06:42 long you'll be able to say this.
06:44 All right, together, after me.
06:45 This is my body.
06:46 Aud.: This is my body.
06:47 PB: Come on, say it like you mean it.
06:50 This is my body.
06:51 Aud.: This is my body.
06:52 PB: God's holy temple.
06:53 Aud.: God's holy temple.
06:54 PB: I've been bought with a price.
06:56 Aud.: I've been bought with a price.
06:58 PB: And I glorify Him.
06:59 Aud.: And I glorify Him.
07:01 PB: One more time.
07:02 This is my body.
07:03 Aud.: This is my body.
07:04 PB: God's holy temple.
07:05 Aud.: God's holy temple.
07:06 PB: I've been bought with a price.
07:08 Aud.: I've been bought with a price.
07:10 PB: And I glorify Him.
07:11 Aud.: And I glorify Him.
07:12 PB: Now, understand, our bodies are holy.
07:14 Just like the Sabbath is holy, our bodies are holy.
07:16 God has set our bodies aside.
07:19 Those who destroy God's temple will be destroyed.
07:24 Go to First Corinthians chapter 3.
07:26 And we're going to verse number 16.
07:29 First Corinthians chapter 3 and verse number 16 and 17.
07:34 First Corinthians chapter 3, verses 16 and 17.
07:38 The Word of God says, "Know ye not that ye
07:41 are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of," whom?
07:44 Aud.: God.
07:45 PB: Come on, the Spirit of whom?
07:47 Aud.: God.
07:48 PB: "Dwelleth in you?
07:49 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God
07:51 destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple
07:56 ye are."
07:57 So, because our bodies are God's temple, because
07:59 our bodies are holy, we cannot destroy our bodies.
08:03 Are you hearing what I'm saying?
08:05 We cannot destroy our bodies, because if the Spirit of God
08:08 is living in us, then the spirit of something else can't live
08:12 in us at the same time the Spirit of God is in us.
08:16 Aud.: Amen.
08:17 PB: So, what we put in our bodies, what we put in our
08:24 bodies, number one: we've got to leave wine, beer, alcohol,
08:36 whiskey.
08:40 We've got to leave it alone.
08:41 It's getting quiet in here.
08:43 [Aud. reaction] PB: We've got
08:45 to leave it alone.
08:51 Now, a doctor is going to tell you that.
08:53 I know somebody has heard, well, a little wine is good
08:55 for the soul.
08:56 That's not what the Bible says.
08:58 You've got to leave it alone.
09:01 You've got to leave it what, everybody?
09:03 Aud.: Alone.
09:04 PB: Now again, we don't go by what Pastor Byrd says.
09:06 We go by what the Word of God says.
09:08 Take your Bibles and go to the book of Proverbs.
09:10 What book, everybody?
09:11 Aud.: Proverbs.
09:12 PB: Proverbs chapter 20.
09:13 And we're going to Proverbs chapter 20, and we're going
09:15 to verse number one.
09:17 We've got to leave it alone.
09:18 Proverbs chapter 20, verse number 1.
09:24 Proverbs chapter 20, verse number 1.
09:26 Now, our bodies are God's temple.
09:29 We want the Spirit of God to dwell in our bodies.
09:32 The Spirit of God cannot dwell in us when there
09:35 are things in us that are not supposed to be in us.
09:37 Proverbs chapter 20, verse number 1, the Word of God
09:41 says, "Wine is a," what?
09:43 Aud.: Mocker.
09:44 PB: Come on, wine is a what?
09:45 Aud.: Mocker.
09:46 PB: "Strong drink" is what?
09:47 Aud.: Raging.
09:48 PB: "And whosoever is deceived thereby is not"
09:50 what?
09:51 Aud.: Wise.
09:52 PB: All right.
09:53 You hear, well, wine is good for the soul.
09:55 God says wine is a what?
09:57 Aud.: Mocker.
09:58 PB: Come on, wine is a what?
09:59 Aud.: Mocker.
10:00 PB: "Strong drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived
10:02 thereby is not wise."
10:03 That's Old Testament, but let's get some
10:05 New Testament.
10:06 Go to Galatians.
10:07 And I want you to go to Galatians chapter 5.
10:10 Galatians chapter 5, and we're going
10:14 to verse number 19.
10:16 Galatians chapter 5, verse number 19.
10:20 The Word of God says to us tonight, "Now the works
10:26 of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery."
10:30 Everybody say adultery.
10:31 Aud.: Adultery.
10:32 PB: "Fornication."
10:32 Say fornication.
10:34 Aud.: Fornication.
10:35 PB: "Uncleanness."
10:36 Say uncleanness.
10:36 Aud.: Uncleanness.
10:37 PB: "Lasciviousness."
10:38 Say lasciviousness.
10:40 Aud.: Lasciviousness.
10:40 PB: Very good.
10:41 Say idolatry.
10:42 Aud.: Idolatry.
10:43 PB: Witchcraft.
10:44 Aud.: Witchcraft.
10:45 PB: Hatred.
10:45 Aud.: Hatred.
10:46 PB: Variance.
10:46 Aud.: Variance.
10:47 PB: Emulations.
10:48 Aud.: Emulations.
10:49 PB: Wrath.
10:50 Aud.: Wrath.
10:50 PB: Strife.
10:51 Aud.: Strife.
10:51 PB: Seditions.
10:52 Aud.: Seditions.
10:53 PB: Heresies.
10:54 Aud.: Heresies.
10:54 PB: Envyings.
10:55 Aud.: Envyings.
10:56 PB: Murders.
10:57 Aud.: Murders.
10:57 PB: Drunkenness.
10:59 Aud.: Drunkenness.
11:00 PB: Revellings.
11:02 And all such like these "of the which I tell you before,
11:05 as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such
11:08 things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
11:17 We are here because we want to inherit the kingdom
11:21 of God.
11:23 But if we participate in any of these things, we will not
11:29 inherit the kingdom of God.
11:34 Those that are guilty of drunkenness and drinking will
11:37 not inherit the kingdom of God.
11:42 I'm trying to help somebody tonight.
11:45 Save your life.
11:46 Save your money.
11:48 You've got to leave it alone.
11:51 Repeat after me.
11:52 This is my body.
11:53 Aud.: This is my body.
11:55 PB: I've been bought with a price.
11:57 Aud.: I've been bought with a price.
11:59 PB: I glorify Him.
12:01 Aud.: I glorify Him.
12:02 PB: And understand, you may be saying tonight, Pastor,
12:05 I don't know if I can do that.
12:07 Yes, you can.
12:08 You are a child of the Most High God, and you can do all
12:12 things through Christ which strengtheneth you.
12:15 You must understand, it's more than just when Jesus
12:19 rose, it's more than just Jesus is coming back,
12:23 it's more than just the millennium, it's more
12:26 than just the Sabbath.
12:27 But please understand, people should be able to look at me
12:31 on the outside to know that something is going on
12:34 on the inside, and that the Holy Ghost is dwelling in me.
12:39 How would you think of me, if you saw me on Memorial
12:42 Parkway or University Drive drinking a 40?
12:45 [Aud. reaction] PB: What would you think of me?
12:50 Did you think Jesus and I could sit on the porch
12:52 and drink 40s together?
12:55 No!
12:56 My body is God's temple.
12:57 Your body is God's temple.
12:59 Our bodies are God's temples.
13:02 And we want the Holy Ghost to dwell in us.
13:04 Can you say amen?
13:05 Aud.: Amen.
13:06 PB: All right, you want some more?
13:08 Aud.: Yes.
13:09 PB: All right, let's get some more.
13:11 Cigarette smoking.
13:13 Come on, say amen.
13:14 Aud.: Amen.
13:15 PB: We've got to get off, stay off all that tobacco.
13:21 Marijuana.
13:22 I know they make it legal some places, that doesn't
13:25 make it right.
13:26 Come on, say amen.
13:27 Aud.: Amen.
13:28 PB: Marijuana.
13:29 Somebody say, what is marijuana?
13:31 Pot.
13:32 [Aud. reaction] PB: What is pot?
13:36 Ganja.
13:37 Leave it alone.
13:38 Leave.
13:39 Leave it alone.
13:40 Come on, say amen.
13:41 Aud.: Amen.
13:42 PB: All these drugs that are harmful to your body.
13:44 Any doctor will tell you that, but I'm trying to help
13:47 somebody tonight.
13:49 Lucky Strikes.
13:50 Marlborough.
13:52 Box or soft pack.
13:58 Cools.
13:59 You've got to leave them alone.
14:02 You see, understand, a person pays twice for his
14:04 cigarettes.
14:05 Once when he gets them, and then second when
14:08 they get him.
14:09 Lung cancer is out of control.
14:12 Throat cancer is out of control.
14:14 Mouth cancer is out of control.
14:16 Surely if, in baseball, they're trying to stop people
14:19 from chewing all that tobacco, surely the people of God
14:22 ought to know better.
14:23 Surely if a doctor will tell a mother who's expecting
14:26 a child, don't smoke cigarettes to hurt your infant, surely
14:30 the people of God ought to know it's harmful.
14:33 [Aud. reaction] PB: Repeat after me.
14:36 This is my body.
14:37 Aud.: This is my body.
14:39 PB: I've been bought with a price.
14:41 Aud.: I've been bought with a price.
14:43 PB: And I glorify Him.
14:44 Aud.: And I glorify Him.
14:45 PB: One more time.
14:46 This is my body.
14:47 Aud.: This is my body.
14:48 PB: God's holy temple.
14:50 Aud.: God's holy temple.
14:51 PB: I've been bought with a price.
14:53 Aud.: I've been bought with a price.
14:55 PB: And I glorify Him.
14:56 Aud.: And I glorify Him.
14:57 PB: I don't know, Pastor Byrd, if I can give up
14:59 cigarettes.
15:00 To doubt the fact that you can get off cigarettes
15:02 is to doubt the power of God.
15:03 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
15:08 All right, you want some more?
15:09 Aud.: Amen.
15:10 PB: How many ate before they came?
15:12 [Aud. reaction] PB: How many plan to eat
15:14 after you leave?
15:15 [Aud. reaction] PB: Well, we'll see what
15:20 you're going to eat after you leave.
15:22 [Aud. reaction] PB: Take your Bibles.
15:24 Go with me to the book of Leviticus.
15:26 What book, everybody?
15:27 Aud.: Leviticus.
15:28 PB: All right, let's go to Leviticus, let's get
15:30 some more.
15:31 Leviticus.
15:32 Tonight this message is going to have something
15:34 for everybody, amen?
15:35 All right, Leviticus chapter 11.
15:37 Leviticus chapter what, everybody?
15:39 Aud.: 11.
15:40 PB: All right, let's go to verse number 1.
15:42 The Word of God says to us tonight, "And the Lord spake
15:45 unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, Speak unto
15:47 the children of Israel, saying, These are the," what?
15:50 Aud.: Beasts.
15:51 PB: Come on, these are the what?
15:53 Aud.: Beasts.
15:54 PB: Beasts.
15:55 You don't have it yet?
15:56 Leviticus chapter 11, verse 2, 'cause you've got to have this.
15:58 You need this tonight.
15:59 You want this.
16:00 Leviticus chapter 11, verse number 2.
16:02 "Speak unto the children of Israel saying, these are
16:04 the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts
16:06 that are on the earth.
16:07 Whatsoever parteth the," what?
16:09 Aud.: Hoof.
16:10 PB: Hoof, and is cloven what?
16:11 Aud.: Footed.
16:12 PB: "Cheweth the," what?
16:13 Aud.: Cud.
16:14 PB: "Among the beasts, that shall ye," what?
16:16 Aud.: Eat.
16:17 PB: All right, so the Bible is clear there are three
16:19 distinct things or characteristics an animal
16:21 must have in order for it to be eaten.
16:23 Number one, it must part the hoof.
16:25 It must part the what?
16:26 Aud.: Hoof.
16:27 PB: Number two, it must be clovenfooted.
16:29 It must be what, everybody?
16:30 Aud.: Clovenfooted.
16:31 PB: And then number three, it must chew the what?
16:33 Aud.: Cud.
16:34 PB: Cud.
16:35 Now I don't know what all that is, but I just know God
16:37 said it, that settles it.
16:38 Come on, say amen.
16:39 Aud.: Amen.
16:40 PB: Now, verse 4 says: "Nevertheless these shall ye
16:42 not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide
16:44 the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud,
16:46 but divideth not the," what?
16:47 Aud.: Hoof.
16:48 PB: Hoof.
16:49 "He is" what unto you?
16:50 Aud.: Unclean.
16:51 PB: Verse 5, don't get quiet on me.
16:53 Verse 5.
16:54 "And the coney."
16:55 And the what?
16:56 Aud.: Coney.
16:57 PB: "Because he cheweth the," what?
16:59 Aud.: Cud.
17:00 PB: "But divideth not the," what?
17:02 Aud.: Hoof.
17:03 PB: "He is" what "unto you"?
17:04 Aud.: Unclean.
17:05 PB: Verse 6, "and the" what?
17:06 Aud.: Hare.
17:07 PB: You know what a hare is?
17:08 That's a rabbit.
17:09 Barbecued rabbit.
17:10 "Because he cheweth the," what?
17:12 Aud.: Cud.
17:13 PB: "But divideth not the," what?
17:15 Aud.: Hoof.
17:16 PB: "He is" what unto you?
17:17 Aud.: Unclean.
17:18 PB: Verse 7.
17:19 "And the" what?
17:20 Aud.: Swine.
17:21 PB: Say it like you mean it.
17:25 And the what?
17:26 Aud.: Swine.
17:27 PB: You know what a swine is?
17:28 Aud.: Yes.
17:29 PB: What's the swine?
17:31 Aud.: Pig.
17:32 PB: Pig.
17:34 Pork.
17:35 The hog.
17:36 Swine.
17:37 Bacon double cheeseburger.
17:38 Hamhocks.
17:39 Chitlins.
17:40 Bacon.
17:41 The swine, the hog, the pig.
17:42 Pork.
17:43 The Bible says "Though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted,
17:46 yet he cheweth not the cud; he is" what "to you"?
17:49 Aud.: Unclean.
17:50 PB: He is what unto you?
17:51 Aud.: Unclean.
17:52 PB: I told you I was going to change somebody's dinner
17:54 plans.
17:55 Come on, say amen.
17:56 [Aud. reaction] PB: Pepperoni pizza.
17:59 That's pork! "Of their flesh shall ye not
18:01 eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch; they are"
18:03 what unto you, everybody?
18:04 Aud.: Unclean.
18:05 PB: Oh, Pastor Byrd, oh, but that pig is so good.
18:08 Hog, meat, swine, pig is a scavenger.
18:12 It is a what, everybody?
18:13 Aud.: A scavenger.
18:14 PB: Do you know what a scavenger does?
18:17 A scavenger eats everything.
18:18 That's what a pig is, a scavenger.
18:21 It is not to be used for food.
18:23 It is to clean up the land, it is not to be cleaned up by
18:26 you on a plate.
18:27 Come on, say amen.
18:28 You see, God created every animal with purpose.
18:33 Are you hearing what I'm saying?
18:35 Before there was a garbage man, there was a pig.
18:37 And the pig went around and ate everything.
18:40 And when the pig goes around and eats everything, and the pig
18:43 is slaughtered and they put it nice in the grocery
18:45 freezer there at Walmart or at Publix, and they put
18:48 that pig right there and put it all nicely packaged, you buy
18:51 it, you go home and you cook it, and you eat it, you're
18:54 eating everything that pig has eaten.
18:58 Now, any doctor will tell you that heart disease
19:00 and hypertension would be lower if you didn't touch pork.
19:06 Come on, say amen.
19:07 Aud.: Amen.
19:08 PB: Come on, say amen.
19:10 Aud.: Amen.
19:11 PB: It's to clean the earth, not to be cleaned up by you.
19:13 Come on, say amen.
19:14 Aud.: Amen.
19:15 PB: Amen.
19:16 Now, Pastor, I don't know if I can do it.
19:18 "You can do all things through Christ which
19:23 strengtheneth me."
19:24 So repeat after me, say This is my body.
19:26 Aud.: This is my body.
19:27 PB: Come on, God's holy temple.
19:29 Aud.: God's holy temple.
19:30 PB: I've been bought with a price.
19:32 Aud.: I've been bought with a price.
19:34 PB: And I glorify Him.
19:35 Aud.: And I glorify Him.
19:36 PB: All right, you want some more?
19:38 Aud.: Yes.
19:39 PB: All right, let's get some more.
19:41 Verse 9.
19:42 If you tell me you want more, I'll give you more.
19:44 Verse 9, "These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters:
19:46 whatsoever hath fins and," what?
19:48 Aud.: Scales.
19:49 PB: "In the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers,
19:52 them shall ye eat.
19:53 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas,
19:55 and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any
19:57 living thing which is in the waters, they shall be,"
19:59 what "unto you"?
20:00 Aud.: Abomination.
20:01 PB: "They shall be even an abomination unto you;
20:03 ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their
20:06 carcasses in abomination.
20:07 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters,
20:09 that shall be an abomination unto you."
20:11 Verse 13, "And these are they which ye shall have
20:13 in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten,
20:15 they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage,
20:17 and the osprey, and the vulture, and the kite after his kind."
20:22 Verse 15, "Every raven after his kind."
20:24 I have to say this all the time.
20:27 When Elijah was at the brook of Cherith,
20:29 he did not eat ravens.
20:30 Ravens brought food to him.
20:32 Verse 16, "And the owl, and the night hawk,
20:36 and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind."
20:40 Verse 17, "And the little owl, and the cormorant,
20:43 and the great owl."
20:44 Verse 18, "And the swan."
20:47 That's duck.
20:48 Somebody said, oh no, I heard you.
20:51 "And the pelican, and the gier eagle,
20:55 and the stork, the heron after her kind,
20:58 and the lapwing, and the bat."
21:02 Who eats bat?
21:04 Lord Jesus.
21:06 [Aud. reaction] PB: Stewed bat.
21:11 Curried bat.
21:13 [Laughter] PB: "All fowls that creep,
21:17 going upon all four, shall be an abomination
21:19 unto you."
21:20 They shall be what, everybody?
21:21 Aud.: Abomination.
21:22 PB: They shall be what, everybody?
21:22 Aud.: Abomination.
21:23 PB: All right.
21:24 That means, then, whatever animals that are in the waters
21:28 that don't have fins or scales, the Bible says they are unclean.
21:35 They are what, everybody?
21:36 Aud.: Unclean.
21:37 PB: They're unclean.
21:38 They're what, everybody?
21:39 Aud.: Unclean.
21:40 PB: They are a scavenger.
21:42 So just like a pig eats up everything off the land,
21:46 a scavenger in the water eats all the waste in the water.
21:53 All right, so tonight I've come to help you.
21:55 Where are my helpers, here? Where are my papers.
21:58 Come now, let's pass those out, because everyone wants
22:00 to know what is clean and what is unclean.
22:04 So quickly, let's pass them out and give me one,
22:07 and I'd like to read it too.
22:08 And after you pass them out, I want you to put it on your
22:11 refrigerator at home.
22:13 Come on, say amen.
22:15 Aud.: Amen.
22:16 PB: Put it right next to that flyer of the revival.
22:19 You'll never forget Pastor Byrd.
22:23 Come on now, amen!
22:25 'Cause you want to eat right.
22:27 You want a good dinner tonight, if you haven't eaten.
22:30 Come on, say amen.
22:32 You don't want barbecued bat and curried bat
22:34 and lapwing and raven.
22:36 You don't want all that.
22:37 You don't want the pig anymore.
22:39 Come on, say amen.
22:40 You don't want all that, because your body
22:42 is the temple of God.
22:43 Your body is a temple of whom, everybody?
22:45 Aud.: God.
22:46 PB: Your body is a temple of whom, everybody?
22:48 Aud.: God.
22:49 PB: All right.
22:50 God's temple is in your body, and you can't have these unclean
22:53 things in your body, and you recognize your body
22:55 is God's temple, so what goes in your body.
22:57 All right, so you have the sheet, you have the sheet.
22:59 Because remember, the animals on the land, they must be
23:04 three things: They must be part the hoof, clovenfooted,
23:08 and chew the cud.
23:09 If they're in the waters, they must have fins and they
23:12 must have what?
23:13 Scales.
23:14 If fowls creep, going on all fours, they shall be
23:18 an abomination.
23:19 So let's look at what can be eaten.
23:21 Somebody said, oh, thank you, Jesus.
23:23 Because they see the C word right there.
23:26 All right.
23:27 Meats.
23:28 Lamb, that's clean.
23:29 Beef.
23:30 Aud.: Amen.
23:31 PB: Somebody said amen, then someone said thank you,
23:39 Jesus!
23:40 Mutton.
23:40 Veal.
23:42 Goat.
23:43 Somebody said I can still eat my curried goat.
23:48 Venison.
23:50 Chicken.
23:52 Aud.: Amen!
23:54 PB: Lord Jesus!
23:56 [Laughter] PB: Turkey.
24:02 That's not going to mess up your Thanksgiving.
24:07 Fish.
24:08 Perch, snapper, buffalo, carp, sun perch, salmon,
24:11 sardines, tuna, flounder, cod, tilapia, whiting.
24:15 You see the shortenings.
24:16 Now let's look at what can't be eaten because it's unclean.
24:19 Let's look at the meats first.
24:21 Pig.
24:23 You know what that is.
24:25 Coon.
24:28 You know what that is, raccoon.
24:32 Possum.
24:34 Squirrel.
24:35 Aud.: Eww.
24:36 PB: Turtle.
24:38 Horse.
24:39 You ride a horse, you don't eat a horse.
24:45 Rabbit.
24:46 Snake.
24:47 Somebody told me one time, snake tastes like chicken.
24:49 I said, I'll never know.
24:51 [Laughter] PB: Frog.
24:55 Frog legs.
24:57 You all ready for some more?
24:59 Let's go to the fish.
25:01 Catfish, eel, lobster, crab, oysters, shrimp.
25:14 [Laughter] You all love that
25:16 shrimp, don't you.
25:16 You've got to leave it alone!
25:19 Crayfish.
25:22 Shark.
25:24 Whale.
25:26 Jonah was in the belly of the whale, he didn't eat
25:27 the whale.
25:29 Shortenings.
25:30 You've got to leave alone that hog lard and hog fat
25:33 grease.
25:34 Somebody said, but that's what makes it taste good.
25:36 Eat something else!
25:37 Drinks.
25:38 You've got to leave the beer alone.
25:41 The whiskey, wine, the gin, even all this caffeine
25:44 drinks.
25:45 They're stimulants.
25:47 You've got to drink water.
25:48 Come on, say amen.
25:50 Drink some water.
25:51 Come on, say amen!
