The First Angel's Message. It is
only fitting that the Book of
Revelation is the last book of

the Bible, because it bears
God's last-day message to God's
last-day people. Revelation is a

prophetic book. In other words,
it tells us how the end is going
00:02:58.04\00:03:03.18
to be. Revelation was written by
John the Revelator after he was
banished to the island of Patmos
00:03:03.21\00:03:11.75
to die all by himself on
volcanic ash, because he kept
talking about Jesus. And because
00:03:11.79\00:03:19.79
he kept talking about Jesus, the
Romans wanted to crush his
religious influence. But even
00:03:19.83\00:03:29.34
though John was banished to
Patmos, God still had a work for
00:03:29.37\00:03:33.81
John to do. Let that be a lesson
for somebody right now today.
God still has a work for you to

do. I do not care how untalented
you think you are or how unfit,
how old, or how young you think
00:03:42.18\00:03:50.33
you are. I am here to let
somebody know today that God
still has a work for you to do.

John is banished to Patmos. But
God still has a work for him to

do. And it is on the island of
Patmos that the Lord has told
John several things in vision

that soon are going to come to
pass. The Lord tells John to
write down what he sees and

record what he sees in a book, a
book we now call the Revelation.

Now, throughout Revelation,
there are always messages from
angels which is why in our text,

Revelation 4:6, it begins with,
"And I saw another angel." But

in Revelation 14, there are
three specific messages from
three angels who have been

commissioned by God to deliver
three specific messages.
Revelation 14:6 and 7 give us
00:04:44.51\00:04:54.96
the first message from the first
angel. Revelation 4:8 gives us
the second message from the
00:04:54.99\00:05:03.50
second angel. And Revelation
14:9-12 give the third message
from the third angel.
00:05:03.53\00:05:12.27
Now, you need to know that these
three angels' messages represent
a symbolic vision. More
00:05:12.31\00:05:23.12
specifically, the angels
represent God's saints. Hear me
00:05:23.15\00:05:27.92
well. That is us who are engaged
in the task of proclaiming the
everlasting Gospel.

And while heavenly angels assist
us in the task of proclaiming

the Gospel, these three messages
are to be proclaimed by us.

Message number one, "And I
saw another angel flying in the

midst of heaven, having the
everlasting Gospel to preach
unto them that dwell on the

earth, to every nation,
kindred, tongue, and people."

Now, let us stop there. When the
Bible says that the angel is
flying in the midst of heaven,

friends of mine, we need to know
and understand that the area of
flight indicates the worldwide

nature of the angel's work and
message which means this message
needs to be brought to the site

and hearing of all humankind.
But not only that. The movement
of this message flying in the
00:06:27.15\00:06:33.99
midst of heaven must be swift.
And remember, you fly faster
than you walk. God's messengers,

God's last-day messengers, that
is us. We must move with
expedition. Time is short. Life
00:06:43.00\00:06:52.11
is uncertain, uncertain both for
the human messenger and
uncertain for the human hear

-er. And so we must work while
it is day for when night cometh,
no man can work. Now, let us

unpack the text. First, the
message of this first angel is
the everlasting Gospel. It is

everlasting, because it has to
do with eternal truth. In other
words, the Gospel has never

changed. The Gospel does not get
old. The Gospel was good for my
Mother and my Father. But the

Gospel is not only everlasting
and eternal. The Gospel is not
only good news, but the Gospel

is also universal in scope. The
first angel's message is to
preach unto them that dwell on

the earth, to every nation,
kindred, tongue, and people
which means this is a worldwide
00:07:37.75\00:07:46.93
Gospel message. This everlasting
Gospel is not for a select
group, a select sect, a select
00:07:46.96\00:07:58.24
color, a select class. This
Gospel is for everybody: young
and old, black and white, rich
00:07:58.27\00:08:08.05
and poor, educated and
uneducated, professional and
common laborer. This Gospel is
00:08:08.08\00:08:18.26
for everyone. Sin is universal.
And the Gospel is universal. Sin
has afflicted all men, but the

Gospel can redeem all men. Jesus
commanded His disciples, "Go,
ye, therefore. Teach all nations

baptizing them everywhere. The
Gospel is for everyone." But the
text continues, "And I saw

another angel flying in the
midst of heaven having the
everlasting Gospel to preach

unto them that dwell on the
earth, to every nation, kindred,
tongue, and people saying with a

loud voice, fear God, give glory
to Him for the hour of His
judgment is come, and worship

Him that made heaven and earth,
the sea, and the fountains of
waters." The day is over where

you are fearing men. The day is
over where you are fearing
people. The day has to be over

where you are fearing what is
popular. It is time for the
people of God to fear God.

People are doing whatever they
want to do. People are as bad as
they want to be. But in the name

of Jesus, it is time to fear
God. You better recognize who
God is: King of kings, Lord of

lords, CEO of the universe,
President of all galaxies. You
did not vote Him in, and you

cannot vote Him out. You cannot
impeach Him, and He is not going
to resign. He is God. He made

you. He raised you. He fed you.
He kept you. He saved you. He
redeemed you. He died for you.

And He is coming back to get
you. He is God. God is calling
us today to fear God. To fear

God means to reverence God. It
does not mean to be afraid of
God. But you cannot come to God.

You have to come to God with
reverence and awe. You cannot
come to God any old kind of way.

God is not your homeboy. He is
not your homegirl. God is not
your guy. He is not your girl.

God is God. Stop fearing
everybody else, and fear God.

Start obeying God Too many of us
are fearing the gods of
materialism, the gods of

pleasure, and the gods of
convenience. But in the name of
Jesus, it is time for the people

of God to fear God. But not only
that. It is time to glorify God;
00:10:27.92\00:10:31.33
give glory to God. I love what
the Psalmist said. He said, "Not
unto us, O Lord, but unto Thy
00:10:31.36\00:10:38.30
name give glory, for Thy mercy,
and for Thy truth." When God is
glorified, His people are
00:10:38.33\00:10:45.67
edified, and the devil is
horrified. It is impossible for
God to be glorified and we not
00:10:45.71\00:10:51.85
be edified. And let me say this.
God will not share His glory
with anybody. God will not share
00:10:51.88\00:10:57.32
His glory with anything. If you
want miracles to happen in your
life, if you want to deliverance

to come in your life, you have
got to learn how to glorify God
and lift up the name of Jesus.

Jesus said, "If I be lifted up
from the earth, I will draw all
00:11:06.49\00:11:11.67
men unto me." Jesus says, "I
will begin to do something when
my people stop glorifying
00:11:11.70\00:11:17.41
themselves.' Stop glorifying
individuals. Stop glorifying the
car they drive. Stop glorifying
00:11:17.44\00:11:23.38
the clothes they wear. Stop
glorifying the house they live
in. Stop glorifying the job they
00:11:23.41\00:11:28.02
go to. Stop glorifying self if
they can just say, "God, I
glorify you for who you are.

I put nothing above you. You are
my everything. You are my
sustainer. You are my provider.

You are my Healer. You are my
banner. You are my bill payer.
You are my cancer killer.

You are my coronavirus stopper.
You are my God." Fear God. Give

glory to Him, because the
hour of His judgment is come

Now, let me stop here notice.
Notice the text does not say His
day of judgment has come.

But the text says the hour of
His judgment is come. You all do
not hear what I am saying.

In other words, the coming of
the Lord is sooner than we
think. The days of playing
00:12:09.39\00:12:15.40
church are over. The days of
playing holy are over. The days
of playing righteous are over.

The days of keeping up mess are
over. The days of confusion are
00:12:20.60\00:12:26.61
over. The days of worrying about
what everybody else is doing and
not worrying about what you
00:12:26.64\00:12:31.25
ought to be doing are over. The
hour of God's judgment is come.

If you do not believe that, just
look around the world today.

Look around at what is going on
in our world today. The hour of
God's judgment is come.

We can look around the
world and know that the

hour is late. Jesus told us in
Matthew 24 that just before His

coming, there will be lying;
there will be deception on every

hand. Jesus said, before His
coming, nation would rise
against nation, kingdom against
00:12:55.80\00:13:00.91
kingdom. There will be wars and
famines and pestilence and
earthquakes. The hour of His
00:13:00.94\00:13:08.62
judgment is come. surprise." The
hour of His judgment is come.

Oh, you are watching. But you
are still not getting it. Let me
try it this way. The hour of His
00:13:13.46\00:13:19.76
judgment, mentioned here by the
first angel, began in
eighteen-forty four.

It represented the cleansing
of the earthly sanctuary.
00:13:25.03\00:13:28.94
Daniel 8:14 says, "And He said
unto me, unto two thousand and
three hundred days,
00:13:28.97\00:13:32.91
then shall the
sanctuary be cleansed."
00:13:32.94\00:13:36.64
Now, we already know in Bible
prophecy that one day is the
equivalent to one year.
00:13:36.68\00:13:42.72
So if we are saying two thousand
three hundred days, the
sanctuary should be cleansed,

we are, in essence, saying in
two thousand three hundred
years, the sanctuary would be

cleansed. This prophecy began in
the seventh year of the reign of
King Artaxerxes in the year

four-fifty seven BC. And we
understand it was on that date
that Jerusalem's walls were
00:14:02.34\00:14:09.68
ordered to be rebuilt. When you
count two thousand three hundred
years later and move from BC to
00:14:09.71\00:14:16.02
AD, you come to the
year eighteen-forty four.
00:14:16.05\00:14:19.42
Now, study history. Many people
thought in eighteen-forty four
that Jesus was going to come,
00:14:19.45\00:14:24.79
because they thought that the
earthly cleansing, earthly
sanctuary being cleansed meant
00:14:24.83\00:14:33.07
Jesus was coming. But while they
have their calculations right,
the event was wrong.
00:14:33.10\00:14:38.21
Jesus was not coming in
eighteen-forty four. And they
should have known that
00:14:38.24\00:14:43.48
because Jesus said in Matthew
24:36, "But of that day and hour
knoweth no man, but the Father
00:14:43.51\00:14:50.15
only." Jesus was not
coming in eighteen-forty four.
00:14:50.19\00:14:53.39
But God the Christ was moving
from the holy to the most holy
00:14:53.42\00:14:59.43
place. Remember, the earthly
sanctuary back in the Old
Testament was a type or a model
00:14:59.46\00:15:07.60
of the heavenly sanctuary. And
throughout the year, the priest
would forgive sins on a daily
00:15:07.64\00:15:14.54
basis in the earthly sanctuary.
But once per year on the day of
atonement, the priest would go
00:15:14.58\00:15:19.85
in and cleanse the sins
from the most holy place.
00:15:19.88\00:15:23.05
In eighteen-forty four, God
moved from the holy place to the
most holy place in the heavenly
00:15:23.08\00:15:31.33
sanctuary. And right now, God is
engaged in judgment, the
investigative judgment, over His
00:15:31.36\00:15:39.20
people. And the standard by
which God is going to judge His
people is God's Ten Commandment

Law: Thou shall have no other
gods before me; thou shall not
make unto thee any graven image;
00:15:45.67\00:15:49.91
thou shall not take the name of
the Lord Thy God in vain;
remember the Sabbath day to keep

it holy; honor thy father and
thy mother; thou shall not kill;
thou shall not commit adultery;

thou shalt not steal; thou shall
not bear false witness and lie;
thou shalt not covet.

That is the standard on which
God is judging His people in the
investigative judgment right

now. And you better believe. 2
Corinthians 5:10 makes it clear
that we all must appear
00:16:10.23\00:16:15.54
before the judgment seat of
God whether we are good or bad.
00:16:15.57\00:16:19.64
That is why I have learned as I
am now getting older, I do not
have to worry about judging
00:16:19.67\00:16:24.65
people. I do not have to worry
about setting folks straight or
telling them all. God will deal
00:16:24.68\00:16:30.45
with them. Pay day is coming. Be
not deceived. God is not mocked.
"Whatsoever a man soweth, that
00:16:30.49\00:16:38.79
shall he also reap." We must all
appear before the judgment seat
00:16:38.83\00:16:41.93
of Christ. Hebrews 9:27 says,
"It is appointed unto men once
to die, but after that the
00:16:41.96\00:16:49.17
judgment." 1 Peter 4:17 is clear
that judgment begins with the
00:16:49.20\00:16:53.04
house of God. And it follows
with those who do not obey the
00:16:53.07\00:16:57.81
voice of God. And God finished
His work in the most holy place
in the heavenly sanctuary.

You better believe Jesus is soon
to come. And the thing about it
is Jesus could pass over our
00:17:02.12\00:17:07.99
name. And we do not even know
it. That is why we must live
every day as if it were our
00:17:08.02\00:17:13.03
last. Text says, "Fear God. Give
glory to Him for the hour of His
00:17:13.06\00:17:23.20
judgment is come. The text
continues, "And worship Him that
made heaven and earth, the seas,
00:17:23.24\00:17:31.75
and the fountains of waters."
The first angel of Revelation 14
calls us back to worship but not
00:17:31.78\00:17:40.29
just any type of worship. God is
calling His people back to true
00:17:40.32\00:17:44.09
worship. Jesus said in John 4:24
that they they that worship Him
must worship Him in spirit and
00:17:44.13\00:17:52.10
in truth. A lot of people just
want to worship God in spirit,
but they do not want to worship
00:17:52.13\00:17:57.07
God in truth. If I would ask one
hundred people what worship was,
00:17:57.11\00:17:59.87
I would probably get one hundred
different answers from the one
hundred different people.

And the primary reason is
because of the wide range of
backgrounds, attitudes,

interpretations, experiences,
and preferences about worship.

But more than that, we have such
a wide range of views on worship

because of the never-ending
list of worship misconceptions.

And probably the biggest
misconception about worship is
that worship is for us. That

when I go to worship, it is all
about me. Too many of us when we
worship is all about us.

We are trying to draw attention
to ourselves. But worship is not
00:18:35.74\00:18:42.35
about you. Worship is not about
me. Worship is about God. People
cannot see God because you will
00:18:42.38\00:18:51.66
not get out of the way. But
maybe another contributing
factor to worship misconceptions
00:18:51.69\00:18:57.87
is our expectations of worship.
Some people expect intellectual
stimulation from the sermon, and

if they are not intellectually
stimulated, the worship has not
taken place. Then there are
00:19:03.64\00:19:09.64
others who expect a form of
entertainment, and though they
would never call it that, if
00:19:09.68\00:19:14.92
they are not entertained,
worship has not taken place. But
worship is not about intellect.

Worship is not about
entertainment. Worship is about
an encounter with the Living

God. God wants to communicate
with us. God wants to commune
with us God wants to live in us.

That is worship. We need to
understand worship is not always
about what we know. What we know
00:19:32.00\00:19:38.84
can get us a long way in life,
but it will not get us a long
way in worship. You see, I can
00:19:38.87\00:19:42.88
know the policies. I can know
the procedures of a company, but
that does not mean I am ready to
00:19:42.91\00:19:47.22
run the company. I can know the
rules and regulations of
basketball, but that does not
00:19:47.25\00:19:53.05
mean I am ready for the NBA. I
can know the Lord's Prayer, but
that does not mean I know the
00:19:53.09\00:20:00.46
Lord. I can know the twenty
third Psalm, but that does not
mean I know the shepherd. I can
00:20:00.50\00:20:04.97
know the commandments, but that
does not mean I know Christ. We
can know the order of service.
00:20:05.00\00:20:11.11
We can know the scripture. We
can know the hymn. We can know
the praise songs. We can know
00:20:11.14\00:20:16.68
what to say and what to do. But
that does not mean we worship.
In worship, it is not about what
00:20:16.71\00:20:23.92
we want, but it is about who we
know. And I am so glad today
that I know me Jesus. I know I
00:20:23.95\00:20:31.16
serve a risen savior. I know the
doctor in the sick room. I know
the lawyer in the courtroom. I
00:20:31.19\00:20:38.77
know who woke me up this
morning, who started me on my
way. When I know Jesus, that is
00:20:38.80\00:20:45.97
when I worship Him. But not only
that. Number two, worship is not
our idea. Worship did not start
00:20:46.01\00:20:53.58
with us. We did not think of the
need for worship. Worship, my
friends, is not a human
00:20:53.62\00:21:00.36
innovation, but it is rather a
divine invention. God made
worship. God made us to worship
00:21:00.39\00:21:10.77
Him. Worship begins with God and
ends with God. He is alpha and
omega, the first and the last,
00:21:10.80\00:21:19.31
the beginning. and He is the
end. Some of us, what we do in
worship is born out of human
00:21:19.34\00:21:26.45
creativity. But worship was not
born with us. Worship is for
God's benefit, not our benefit.

It is not about what we can get
out of it, but it is about what
we give to God. When we worship,
00:21:31.22\00:21:37.59
we are supposed to give God what
God wants, not what I want. And
I am going to come back to that.

Number three, worship
is not a spectator sport.

Many times people look at
worship experience as a
spectator event. They see

themselves as the audience, the
person up front as the
performer, and God as the

prompter. But that is not the
case. When we worship God, God
is the audience. The person up
00:21:54.74\00:22:00.98
front is the prompter. And the
congregation members are the
performers. Number four, worship
00:22:01.02\00:22:09.96
is not just about singing. I
hear people say all the time,
"We had church today. We had
00:22:09.99\00:22:18.57
worshipped today. We enjoyed the
worship part of the service,"
meaning they enjoyed the
00:22:18.60\00:22:24.47
singing. And while singing is a
part of worship, singing is not
all of worship. Too many people
00:22:24.51\00:22:32.38
think worship is just good when
the singing is good. I love to
sing. And I love the music. But
00:22:32.41\00:22:39.45
let me help somebody today. You
can sing good. The song may
sound good. And the song may be
00:22:39.49\00:22:44.86
good. But that does not mean you
had true worship. True worship
calls for sincerity of heart.

You have to really mean what you
are doing. That is why you can
have a good singer and they can
00:22:48.13\00:22:55.70
sing a good song, but there is
no anointing, no power, no
transformation. But then you can
00:22:55.74\00:23:02.41
have a not so good singer
singing the same song but the 
anointing will fall. Lives will
00:23:02.44\00:23:09.72
be changed. Yolks will be
destroyed. And souls will be
saved. Every part of the worship

experience, my friends, is
worship: the singing, the
praying, the scripture, the
00:23:17.59\00:23:23.80
offering, the preaching, and
everything else. Worship is not
just music. But then number

five, worship is more than a
building. If we ever learned
anything else through this
00:23:28.30\00:23:31.37
COVID-19 period, we have learned
that worship is not just done at
the church building.

Now, do not misunderstand me. Do
not misquote me. Do not get me
00:23:35.21\00:23:39.95
twisted. I am not saying you do
not have to go to church. In
fact, when this pandemic is
