Lord. This is not an easy word,

but it's a necessary word
particularly in the times in

which we live. I would like to
invite you at this time to take

the Book of Revelation. We're
going to Revelation 13,

and we're going to read the
entire chapter today. Revelation

13. I'm going to read and your
hearing from the King James
Version of the Bible.

Revelation 13. The Word of God
says, "And I stood upon the sand

of the sea, and saw a beast rise
up out of the sea, having seven
heads and ten horns,

The world right now is in an

uproar. Our nation is in chaos.
Uncertainty is commonplace. Fear

is everywhere. The future is
unknown. Thousands are dying
daily from the coronavirus.
00:05:07.00\00:05:14.98
Hundreds of thousands are
contracting the coronavirus.
Shelters in place are now in
00:05:15.01\00:05:24.05
effect. Schools are closed.
Churches are closed. Restaurants
are closed. Businesses are
00:05:24.09\00:05:32.96
closed. Everywhere is closed.
You ride down some streets and
it looks like a ghost town.
00:05:32.99\00:05:40.20
There aren't enough masks.
There aren't enough ventilators.

But today, in the name of Jesus,

I'm still glad today that those
who believe in Jesus will still

hear his voice during this
pandemic. Then, we hear his
voice saying, "It is I, be not

afraid." Though the storms of
life are raging, Jesus says, "It
is I, be not afraid."

Though somebody right now is
walking through the valley of
the shadow of death, Jesus says,

"It is I, be not afraid."

Though it seems that we're going
to witness death of epic
proportions, Jesus says,

"It is I, be not afraid." Though
it seems that we're headed for
economic destruction,

I'm so glad I can hear Jesus'
voice saying, "It is I, be not

afraid." In the name of Jesus
today, I'm here to let someone
know that I am not afraid.

God has not given us a spirit of
fear, but a spirit of power, of
love, and a sound mind.

esconological and apocalyptic
times in which we live. Friends

to warn you of what's ahead of

us. Not from the newspaper, not
from the TV news, not from CNN,
not from ABC, NBC, CBS, or Fox,

but God has told me to warn you
of what is coming from the
unadulterated Word of God.

Now, if you think things are
bad now, you better think again

because you haven't seen a thing
yet. Some people say, "Oh, this
is one of the plagues."

Let's be clear. This is one
of the pestilences that happens

and transpires before the
plagues. With that in mind,

preaching feel-good sermons.

feel-good, clap-your-hands,
stomp-your-feet sermons that
make you shout on Sabbath

but you live any kind of
way during the week. The Bible's

very clear now. Isaiah 58:1.
It's time to cry aloud, and
spare not, lift up thy voice

like a trumpet. Today, I've come
to tell you about 2 Beasts, 2
Nations, and 1 Disease.
00:08:14.09\00:08:19.36
Now, there are two books in
the Bible that are what we call
00:08:19.39\00:08:23.93
prophetic books. In the Old
Testament, the prophetic book is
00:08:23.97\00:08:26.87
Daniel. In the New Testament,
the prophetic book is the
00:08:26.90\00:08:30.27
Revelation. When you read
these books, when you read Bible
00:08:30.31\00:08:34.58
prophecy, you need to
understand that in these books.
00:08:34.61\00:08:37.08
there are certain symbols
that have certain meanings.
00:08:37.11\00:08:39.68
For example, when
you read Numbers 14:34,
00:08:39.71\00:08:43.79
you will discover in Bible
prophecy that a day represents a
00:08:43.82\00:08:48.39
year. Water, according to
Revelation 17:5, represents
00:08:48.42\00:08:52.33
people. A beast, according
to Daniel 7:23, represents a
00:08:52.36\00:08:56.73
kingdom, and a dragon represents
Satan according to Revelation
00:08:56.77\00:09:01.04
12. Now, let's talk first about
the first beast of Revelation 13
00:09:01.07\00:09:07.41
because, remember, there are 2
beasts, 2 nations, and 1
disease. Revelation 13:1.
00:09:07.44\00:09:13.18
The Word of God says, once I
read again, "And I stood upon
the sand of the sea,
00:09:13.21\00:09:18.02
and saw a beast rise up out of
the sea, having seven heads and
00:09:18.05\00:09:22.62
ten horns, and upon his horns
ten crowns, and upon his heads
the name of blasphemy.
00:09:22.66\00:09:28.06
And the beast which I
saw was like unto a leopard,
00:09:28.10\00:09:30.07
and his feet were as the feet
of a bear, and his mouth as the
00:09:30.10\00:09:32.67
mouth of a lion: and the dragon
gave him his power, his seat,
and great authority."

Now, let's stop there and
understand what we've just read,

applying biblical symbols to the
prophetic books of Daniel and

the Revelation. The Bible
says that John says, "I saw,

and I stood upon the sand of
the sea a beast rise out of the
00:09:45.71\00:09:49.88
sea." If a beast means a
kingdom, then the Bible is clear
that a kingdom comes out of the
00:09:49.92\00:09:55.46
sea. Sea is water. Water
represents people. Then, John is
00:09:55.49\00:09:59.79
saying, "I saw a kingdom
rise out of among many people."
00:09:59.83\00:10:04.70
Now, understand, verse 2 lets us
know that the dragon, Satan,
gave the beast this kingdom,
00:10:04.73\00:10:12.01
its power, its seat, and its
great authority. Let me say that
00:10:12.04\00:10:18.08
one more time. The Bible is
clear that the dragon, Satan,
gave this beast, a kingdom, its
00:10:18.11\00:10:25.62
power, its seat and
its great authority.

Now, you need to know that this
dragon representing Satan also
00:10:28.29\00:10:33.56
represents, in this instance,
papal Rome. When you study world
00:10:33.60\00:10:38.97
history, it's clear that
old Pagan Rome gave the pope the
00:10:39.00\00:10:44.81
papacy, the beast, its power and
authority. Now, before I go any
00:10:44.84\00:10:47.98
further, I need you to
understand that this message is
not in attack on the pope.

This message is not an attack
on the Roman Catholic church.

But I must preach the Word
of God so that we all might

understand that
prophecy must come to pass.

Now, we keep reading. Revelation
13, let's go to verse 3.
00:11:02.56\00:11:05.69
The word of God says, "And I
saw one of his heads as it were
00:11:05.73\00:11:10.97
wounded to death; and his deadly
wound was healed: and all the
world wondered after the beast."
00:11:11.00\00:11:16.87
The Bible is teaching now that
the beast, it would suffer a
00:11:16.91\00:11:21.94
death blow. The beast, it would
suffer a great wound. A wound
that would really wound it to
00:11:21.98\00:11:27.68
death, but then later on, the
wound would heal, and all the
world would wonder after the
00:11:27.72\00:11:33.86
beast. When you study world
history, you will discover that
in 1798, remember that date,
00:11:33.89\00:11:39.89
in 1798, a gentleman by
the name of General Berthier,
00:11:39.93\00:11:44.97
he was a French
general under Napoleon.
00:11:45.00\00:11:47.94
French General Berthier took the
pope captive in 1798, go read
your history books,
00:11:47.97\00:11:54.48
took the papacy captive in 1798
and the papacy died in exile.
00:11:54.51\00:12:01.15
Many people thought that this
was the end of the papacy, that
the papacy was done.
00:12:01.18\00:12:07.02
But the prophecy of the Word
of God must come to fruition.
00:12:07.06\00:12:10.29
The Bible says that the papacy
would receive a death blow.
00:12:10.33\00:12:15.00
He was taken in 1798, prisoner
by Berthier, and died in exile.
00:12:15.03\00:12:19.83
But the Bible says that
this deathly wound would have to

heal. When you further study
history and you study the
Concordat of 1929, Italian Prime
00:12:24.77\00:12:29.98
Minister, a gentleman by the
name of Benito Mussolini,
restored the power of the papacy
00:12:30.01\00:12:37.12
in 1929. Just as the Bible have
prophesied, the papacy would
receive a death blow, 1798.
00:12:37.15\00:12:43.59
But in 1929, the deathly wound
would heal and all would wonder
00:12:43.63\00:12:50.40
after the beast. We know as the
world in which we live today
that the papacy, the pope,
00:12:50.43\00:12:53.44
is the most influential
person on the face of the globe,
00:12:53.47\00:12:57.64
and all the world wonders after
him. But let's go some more.

Let's go to verse 5 of
Revelation 13. Verse 5, the Word
of God says, first part,
00:13:02.14\00:13:07.88
"And there was given unto him a
mouth speaking great things and
00:13:07.92\00:13:14.19
blasphemies." We understand
here, friends of mine, that the
papacy, this beast,
00:13:14.22\00:13:18.29
would speak great
things and blasphemies.
00:13:18.33\00:13:21.73
Now, the Bible defines blasphemy
as two things: number one,
00:13:21.76\00:13:25.97
being a man and you make
yourself God according to John
10:33; and then number two,
00:13:26.00\00:13:31.57
declaring to have power to
forgive sin, Luke 5:21. The
00:13:31.61\00:13:38.21
papacy does both. It claims to
be God on earth and it claims to
have the power to forgive sin.
00:13:38.25\00:13:46.32
But where I read in my Bible,
there's only one name under
heaven whereby we can be saved,
00:13:46.35\00:13:52.56
and that's the name of Jesus.
Only Jesus can forgive me of my
00:13:52.59\00:13:58.97
sins. The Bible says in 1 John
1:9, "If we confess our sins, he
00:13:59.00\00:14:03.61
is faithful and just and forgive
us of our sins, and cleanse us
from all unrighteousness,"
00:14:03.64\00:14:07.98
which means I don't have to go
pray to another individual in a
00:14:08.01\00:14:11.68
window, but I can boldly go to
the throne of grace. God will
hear me and he will have mercy.

But we continue the
second part of Revelation 13:5.

Power was given unto the beast,
him, to continue forty and two
00:14:21.92\00:14:29.26
months. Let's
understand what we're reading.

Number one, the beast
would receive its power from the
00:14:30.70\00:14:34.54
dragon. Dragon is Satan, dragon
is old Pagan Rome, and it would
give power to the beast,

the papacy. The Bible goes
on and lets us know that the
00:14:39.41\00:14:43.11
papacy, it would suffer a death
blow but its wound would be
00:14:43.14\00:14:46.28
healed. The Bible lets us know
that the papacy would speak
blasphemy, having the power,
00:14:46.31\00:14:50.85
it says, to forgive sins,
and claiming to be God on earth.
00:14:50.89\00:14:54.62
But then number
four, Revelation 13:5,
00:14:54.66\00:14:57.19
power was given unto the beast
to continue for forty and two
00:14:57.23\00:15:00.40
months. Now, remember, we said a
little earlier that in these
books, Daniel and the

Revelation, there are different
symbols that mean different
00:15:06.20\00:15:09.40
things. Remember in Bible
prophecy, one prophetic day is
equal to one literal year.
00:15:09.44\00:15:15.44
One prophetic day is
equal to one literal year.
00:15:15.48\00:15:19.71
Now, the Bible says that the
beast or the papacy would be
given power for 42 months which,
00:15:19.75\00:15:25.62
by the way, is the same as 1,260
years according to Revelation 7
00:15:25.65\00:15:33.36
which is 1,200 and threescore
days, and a time, times, and
dividing of time in Revelation
00:15:33.40\00:15:39.13
12:14 and Daniel 7:25. It is
also time, times, dividing of
00:15:39.17\00:15:43.84
time; another way of saying 3
1/2 years. It's the same thing.
00:15:43.87\00:15:53.52
1,260 years. Let me break this
down. 42 months. 42 months times
30 days, and we use 30 days
00:15:53.55\00:16:06.80
because the 30 days is for the
Roman calendar of number of days
00:16:06.83\00:16:11.90
within a month. 42 months times
the 30 days give us 1,260 days.
When we say 1,260 days, in
00:16:11.93\00:16:22.04
essence, we're saying 1,260
years because a day is for a
00:16:22.08\00:16:26.98
year. But let's continue on. We
read 1,200 and threescore days.
What does that mean?
00:16:27.02\00:16:35.29
Well, 1,200 threescore, a score
is represented by the number 20.
00:16:35.32\00:16:42.20
When you say threescore, we're
saying 3 times 20 which equals
00:16:42.23\00:16:47.90
60. We know score is 20 because
we often say the Bible says that

God has promised us to live
threescore and ten. Threescore.
3 times 20 plus 10 is 70.

In this text, the Bible is
saying 1,200 and threescore
days, which is 1,260 days,

which is 1,260 years.
But then the Bible goes on,

Now, in Bible prophecy, one time
is one year. In a year, we have

12 months. Remember, we must
keep our math the same. We're
saying 30 days in a Roman

calendar month. a time, one
year, is 12 months times 30 days
00:17:34.15\00:17:43.02
which is 360 days. The Bible
says a time, then it says a

times. If a time is 360 days, a
times must be 2 years. 360 plus

360 is 720. But then it closes
out and says a dividing of time.

When we say a dividing of
time, we're saying half a year.

We're saying 360 divided by 2
which is 180. When the Bible in
Bible prophecy says a time,

a times, and dividing of time,
we're saying 360 plus 720 plus
180 which equals 1,260 days,

which is the equivalent day
for a year, 1,260 years, which

means, friends of mine, that
1,200 threescore days, 42
months, and a time, times,

and dividing of time are
all the same thing. 1,260 years.

Now, remember, the prophecy says
that power would be given to the
beast for 1,260 years,

42 months. Now, in 538 AD, the
power of the papacy reached its
00:18:46.22\00:18:56.56
highest point because a
gentleman by the name of
00:18:56.60\00:18:59.60
Justinian, Roman Emperor
Justinian made the papacy the
head of all Christian churches,
00:18:59.63\00:19:10.08
538 AD. But then exactly 1,260
years later, in 1798, remember,
we told you that history says,
00:19:10.11\00:19:19.95
the papacy was taken captive by
French General Berthier. The
prophecy is correct.

The papacy would
rule for 1,260 years.

It would begin in 538 AD when it
was made head of all Christian

churches, and exactly 42 months,
1,200 and threescore days, a

time, times, and dividing of
times, 1,260 years later in
1798, his reign would end

because Berthier
would take him captive.

Next point, let's
read Revelation 13:7.

to make war with the saints,

kindreds, tongues, and nations.

History clearly indicates that
the papacy persecuted many
Christians during this period,

538 to 1798, which was also
referred to during this period
as the Middle Ages.

While many Catholics believed
it was doing the right thing,

eliminating
heresy from the church,

the reality is many people were
destroyed during this period.

Revelation 13:7, the 2nd part.
And power was given over him
over all kindreds, and tongues,

and nations, which means the
beast would have global power

and influence. But then number
seven, Revelation 13:8, the Word

of God says, "And all that dwell
upon the earth shall worship

him, whose names are not written
in the book of life of the Lamb

slain from the foundation of the
world." Let me look at that
first sentence again.

And all that dwell upon
the earth shall worship him."

The beast then would engage in
worship, but not true worship,

but the beast would
engage in false worship.

But God in this day and age in
which we live, is calling His
people to true worship.

Revelation 14:6 is clear. And I
saw another angel flying in the

midst of heaven, having the
everlasting gospel to preach
unto them that dwell on the

earth, to every nation, kindred,
tongue, and people, saying with

a loud voice, "Fear God, and
give glory to Him; for the hour
of His judgement is come."

God is calling us to true
worship, but the beast was as
engaged in false worship.

Now, the first beast of
Revelation 13 is papal Rome,

and the first beast of
Revelation 13 is synonymous with
the fourth beast of Daniel 7.

that the first beast of
Revelation 13 is synonymous

to us in Daniel 7:25,

Daniel 7, which is the same

13, would seek to change God's

law, and power would be given
to this beast for 1,260 years, a

time, a times, and the dividing
of time. This beast would have

the nerve. This beast would have
the unmitigated gull to change

God's law. Now, remember,
we told you, this is all about

worship. Who are we going to
give our worship to? The central
issue being worship,

what's going on here? What
would the beast seek to change?

What law would the beast seek to

change in worship, God's day of
worship. What am I talking
about? The fourth commandment.

Now, notice when you read
the commandments in Exodus 20:3

commandments begin with the

But when you read the fourth

God said, "Remember the Sabbath
day, to keep it holy."

Why? God knew that some thing,
some power, some beast would
seek to change his law.

Sabbath day, to keep it holy."

This act was executed by the

ground is sinking sand.

in the cities, but people in

it extended to the agricultural
