(Breath of Life Theme Music) 00:00:01.36\00:00:06.94 Sermon #B653_Don't Forget To Say Thank You! 00:00:06.97\00:00:20.52 Dr. Byrd: Luke Chapter 17 and we're going to go to verse 00:00:20.55\00:00:23.89 number 11. If you have 11 here, you say, Amen. [Congregation: 00:00:23.92\00:00:26.49 Amen] Luke Chapter 17, verse number 11, the word of God says, "And it came to--" what 00:00:26.52\00:00:31.76 everybody? Come on, talk to me. It came to what, everybody? As He went to what city? 00:00:31.79\00:00:36.16 That He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee 00:00:36.20\00:00:38.53 and as He entered into a certain village, there met Him ten men. 00:00:38.57\00:00:42.40 How many men, everybody? [Congregation: Ten] 00:00:42.44\00:00:43.64 And they were what, everybody? [Congregation: Lepers] 00:00:43.67\00:00:45.57 Lepers and the Bible said, they stood far off, and they lifted 00:00:45.61\00:00:49.88 up their voices, and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on 00:00:49.91\00:00:54.35 us." When He saw them, He said unto them, " Go show yourselves 00:00:54.38\00:00:59.22 unto the priests." And it came to pass, that, as they went-- everybody say, as-- 00:00:59.25\00:01:03.49 [Congregation: As] Say, they-- [Congregation: they] 00:01:03.53\00:01:04.73 --went. [Congregation: --went] 00:01:04.76\00:01:06.19 That's very important. As they went, the Bible says, they were 00:01:06.23\00:01:10.40 cleansed. One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned 00:01:10.43\00:01:16.07 back, and with a loud voice glorified God. 00:01:16.10\00:01:18.94 And he fell down on his face and his feet, giving Him thanks and he was a Samaritan. 00:01:18.97\00:01:24.35 Jesus answered him said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 00:01:24.38\00:01:33.29 There are not found that returned to give God glory, save 00:01:33.32\00:01:39.43 this stranger. And He said unto him, "Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee--" what 00:01:39.46\00:01:47.67 everybody? [Congregation: --whole] 00:01:47.70\00:01:48.87 Today, I just want to challenge you quickly on the subject, 00:01:48.90\00:01:50.74 "Don't forget to say, thank you." Father God, we thank you. 00:01:50.77\00:01:54.24 May your spirit pour out itself in copious passion as we preach 00:01:54.28\00:01:59.75 your words today, we promise, God, we'll give you the praise and the glory at the appeal 00:01:59.78\00:02:04.32 Lord, do your thing. Do your thing and make people hear your voice and respond to your voice. 00:02:04.35\00:02:07.39 Forgive us of our sins, hide behind your cross in the name of 00:02:07.42\00:02:10.26 Jesus, let everyone say, Amen. [Congregation: Amen.] 00:02:10.29\00:02:11.96 You may be seated. Don't forget to say-- [Congregation: Thank 00:02:11.99\00:02:16.20 you.] Thank you. Don't forget to say, what everybody? [Congregation: Thank you.] 00:02:16.23\00:02:19.33 Come on, one more time. Don't forget to say, what? [Congregation: Thank you.] 00:02:19.37\00:02:22.10 In Bible times, leprosy was the most feared disease in the 00:02:22.14\00:02:26.78 world. It was so bad that religious leaders said that curing leprosy was like raising 00:02:26.81\00:02:34.88 the dead. Leprosy follows this general pattern, five points. 00:02:34.92\00:02:38.82 First, with leprosy, a patch of skin, maybe on the forehead, 00:02:38.85\00:02:44.39 the nose, the ear, the cheek, the chin was discolored. 00:02:44.43\00:02:49.46 Secondly, the patch would turn white or pink and begin to spread in all directions. 00:02:49.50\00:02:56.04 Number 3, the leprosy would then spread to various internal 00:02:56.07\00:03:01.98 organs causing the eyebrows to disappear and spongy tumors to appear on the body. 00:03:02.01\00:03:06.28 Number 4, body tissue would begin to disintegrate causing 00:03:06.31\00:03:11.29 the hands and the feet to become deformed. Then number 5 and probably the worst, with 00:03:11.32\00:03:19.06 leprosy, the nerve endings of the body were then destroyed which meant that the afflicted 00:03:19.09\00:03:26.23 person lost the ability to feel pain. So a rat, a rodent, 00:03:26.27\00:03:34.61 a mouse could chew off a finger at night and the person would 00:03:34.64\00:03:42.42 never feel it or the leper could touch a fiery flame and not feel the fire or feel any pain. 00:03:42.45\00:03:49.09 That was leprosy. 00:03:49.12\00:03:51.43 Now, in the Old Testament specifically Luke Chapters 13 00:03:51.46\00:03:55.66 and 14, instructions were given as to how a person thought to have leprosy was to be treated. 00:03:55.70\00:04:01.70 If the swelling, the rash or skin infection appeared on the 00:04:01.74\00:04:07.54 skin of a person, the person had to immediately go to the priest 00:04:07.58\00:04:12.55 for inspection. The priest would then examine the infected person 00:04:12.58\00:04:16.62 and if white hair was found in the infected area, that was a 00:04:16.65\00:04:22.12 danger sign. If a person had this white hair, they would be quarantined for seven days 00:04:22.16\00:04:27.76 and then after the seven days, if the infection had disappeared 00:04:27.83\00:04:33.13 then the person could return to society. 00:04:33.17\00:04:36.50 But if the infection were still there, the person is diagnosed 00:04:36.54\00:04:44.18 as having leprosy. The person was called unclean. The person was banished from the rest of 00:04:44.21\00:04:52.79 society because leprosy was contagious. But lepers were not only called unclean 00:04:52.82\00:04:59.56 and ostracized for fear of the disease but leprosy made a person ritually unclean. 00:04:59.59\00:05:07.94 So to touch a leper devout a Jew almost as much as touching a 00:05:07.97\00:05:16.38 dead person. So, in a sense, leprosy was supposedly a sign of 00:05:16.41\00:05:23.42 God's disfavor. Now, in all of biblical history, there are only two people who had been cured of 00:05:23.45\00:05:30.46 leprosy. The first was Miriam who had leprosy for seven years as a punishment for speaking 00:05:30.49\00:05:36.43 against Moses' leadership which reminds me that you better be 00:05:36.46\00:05:41.87 careful who you're talking to. You better be careful who you're 00:05:41.90\00:05:47.31 talking about because God says, "Touch not my anointed and do my 00:05:47.34\00:05:51.75 prophets no harm." Do I have a witness in this place? [Congregation: Yes] 00:05:51.78\00:05:53.55 The other person who was healed of leprosy was Naaman, captain of the Syrian army. 00:05:53.58\00:05:58.99 But praise God, for a little servant girl from Israel who 00:05:59.02\00:06:04.19 told Naaman that a prophet could heal him. Naaman obeyed Elisha, the prophet's instructions 00:06:04.23\00:06:09.23 and he went to the Jordan river and he dipped seven times. 00:06:09.26\00:06:13.67 The Bible says that he was healed. But other than Miriam 00:06:13.70\00:06:19.57 and Naaman, no one else had been healed of leprosy. 00:06:19.61\00:06:22.91 Now, our text says, that Jesus one day was traveling between the border of Galilee 00:06:22.94\00:06:29.38 and Samaria on His way to Jerusalem for the very last time which means this action 00:06:29.42\00:06:37.59 took place just before His death. 00:06:37.63\00:06:42.50 Just before Jesus dies, Jesus is encountered by some lepers. 00:06:42.53\00:06:49.97 Knowing His death was imminent, Jesus could have kept moving and 00:06:50.01\00:06:57.35 just ignored them. But I'm so glad today that I've got a witness in this place that knows 00:06:57.38\00:07:03.12 Jesus is never too busy when we call Him. Now, understand that 00:07:03.15\00:07:09.92 Galilee and Samaria were two contrasting places. Galilee was 00:07:09.96\00:07:16.80 Jesus' home base. Jesus was raised in Galilee. Jesus grew up in Galilee. Jesus' family was in 00:07:16.83\00:07:26.07 Galilee. Most of His preaching was done from Galilee. Most of His teaching was done from 00:07:26.11\00:07:32.88 Galilee. Most of His miracles were done in Galilee but Samaria was another matter. 00:07:32.91\00:07:38.79 Jews avoided Samaria if they could because Jews hated 00:07:38.82\00:07:43.16 Samaritans and the Samaritans knew it. But somewhere between Galilee and Samaria, 00:07:43.19\00:07:48.60 somewhere between the Jews and the Samaritans, 00:07:48.63\00:07:51.93 somewhere between two different worlds of people, Jesus meets 00:07:51.97\00:08:00.21 ten lepers. The lepers cry out to Jesus, "Master, Jesus, have mercy on us." What would Jesus 00:08:00.24\00:08:11.62 do? Would He heal them right there? They knew Jesus could do it but what would Jesus do? 00:08:11.65\00:08:19.39 After all, Jesus could just say a word and they would be healed. 00:08:19.43\00:08:24.50 Jesus could just put His hands on them and they would be 00:08:24.53\00:08:29.37 healed. Jesus could just snap His fingers and they would be 00:08:29.40\00:08:34.18 healed. But in this instance, Jesus doesn't just simply say, 00:08:34.21\00:08:38.78 "You're healed." Jesus doesn't put His hands on these lepers. 00:08:38.81\00:08:42.95 But the Bible says in verse number 14, Jesus says, "Go show yourselves to the priest." 00:08:42.98\00:08:50.09 Now, was Jesus just brushing the lepers off? 00:08:50.13\00:08:52.53 Because after all when you don't want to be bothered with 00:08:52.56\00:08:54.93 somebody you tell him to go see somebody else. You all know what 00:08:54.93\00:09:00.60 I'm talking about. A child asks their father for something, what did the father say? "Go, see 00:09:00.64\00:09:05.11 your mother. " A child asks their mother for something, what did she say? "Go, see your 00:09:05.14\00:09:09.01 father." A person applying for a job in sales goes to the sales office and the sales office 00:09:09.04\00:09:13.85 says, "Go to the HR office." A student trying to get a 00:09:13.88\00:09:17.45 scholarship or money for school is in the student accounts office and what did they tell 00:09:17.49\00:09:21.19 him? "Go to financial aid." Do I have a witness in this place? [Congregation: Yes.] 00:09:21.22\00:09:25.79 But Jesus wasn't trying to brush them off. 00:09:25.83\00:09:29.06 Jesus is going to heal them but he's got to be obedient to the 00:09:29.10\00:09:34.44 law. Remember I told you earlier that it was said that the law 00:09:34.47\00:09:38.21 said, "If it was expected that a person with leprosy had it, 00:09:38.24\00:09:41.81 they had to go first to the priest to be pronounced a leper. 00:09:41.84\00:09:46.48 But the law also said, that if a leper was cleansed, 00:09:46.51\00:09:49.52 then he had to be brought to the priest because, in the same way, 00:09:49.55\00:09:52.95 the priest had to pronounce the individual as a leper, 00:09:52.99\00:09:55.29 the priest had to pronounce the leper as clean. 00:09:55.32\00:09:58.69 So even if Jesus will go heal the lepers, Jesus had to obey the law which is why I'm happy, 00:09:58.73\00:10:08.14 Matthew 5:17 in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus makes it clear, 00:10:08.17\00:10:11.37 "Look, I didn't come-- He said-- to destroy the law of the 00:10:11.41\00:10:15.61 prophets but I came to fulfill it." That's what I love about 00:10:15.64\00:10:19.98 Jesus because even when He had something to do radical, even when He had to heal, 00:10:20.02\00:10:24.12 even hen He had to give a response to a perplexing or a 00:10:24.15\00:10:28.36 trick question, Jesus always did it within the confines of the 00:10:28.39\00:10:32.93 law. The law said that the lepers had to go to the priest 00:10:32.96\00:10:37.03 and if Jesus didn't send the lepers to the priest, 00:10:37.07\00:10:39.67 no one would have believed that the miracle had taken place. 00:10:39.70\00:10:43.81 So Jesus says, "Go, show yourself to the priest." 00:10:43.84\00:10:49.81 But what do you mean, Jesus, go show yourself to the priest." 00:10:49.84\00:10:54.32 I mean, they were still lepers. They didn't have anything to show to the priest, 00:10:54.35\00:11:00.19 that the priest would want to see. 00:11:00.22\00:11:02.49 The last thing the priest wanted to see were some smelly disheveled, deformed, 00:11:02.52\00:11:10.67 ratchet lepers. They had sores everywhere, deformed arms, fingers bitten off by rodents. 00:11:10.70\00:11:19.24 You can smell the disease a quarter of a mile away. 00:11:19.27\00:11:23.21 Why would the priest want to see these lepers? 00:11:23.24\00:11:27.42 But Jesus says, "Go, show yourself to the priest." But that doesn't make sense. 00:11:27.45\00:11:34.46 "Go? I'm still a leper." Just go because if God is God enough to 00:11:34.49\00:11:41.53 tell you to do it, then God is God enough to bring you through it. Quit questioning God and go. 00:11:41.56\00:11:49.00 So something powerful happened to me when I was reading verse 14 so I want you to read it 00:11:49.04\00:11:52.87 because maybe the power of the Holy Ghost could get on you like 00:11:52.91\00:11:56.98 it got on me. I was reading on verse number 14 and the word of God says, "And when He saw them, 00:11:57.01\00:12:03.95 He said unto the lepers, "Go, show yourself unto the priest." 00:12:03.99\00:12:11.96 Look at verse 14, "And it came to pass that as they--" what everybody? [Congregation: 00:12:11.99\00:12:20.14 --went] Come on, as, what they what everybody? [Congregation: 00:12:20.17\00:12:22.37 --went] As they went-- somebody got it-- as they went, the Bible says they were cleansed. 00:12:22.40\00:12:32.05 They were healed as they went. Not before, not after but the 00:12:32.08\00:12:39.62 Bible says, "They were healed as they went." Somebody's not 00:12:39.65\00:12:43.39 getting this. They take one step and they're still lepers. 00:12:43.43\00:12:47.60 They take two steps and they're still lepers. 00:12:47.66\00:12:51.97 They take three steps and the Bible says that they are still 00:12:52.00\00:12:58.01 lepers. But all of a sudden, as they are walking-- somebody knows what I'm talking about--- 00:12:58.04\00:13:04.28 as they're walking something wonderful, something 00:13:04.31\00:13:09.68 unbelievable, something they never dreamed ever happening, happens. With that fourth 00:13:09.72\00:13:17.29 stepped, the Bible says, they are healed. 00:13:17.33\00:13:20.70 When they left to go to the priest, they still had leprosy. 00:13:20.73\00:13:26.47 But in the act of going, they were healed. 00:13:26.50\00:13:32.71 You all don't get this. Let me hear, I've to sit down. 00:13:32.74\00:13:35.04 This is important, friends of mine, because it was in the act 00:13:35.08\00:13:40.62 of going, that was the act of their faith. You see, our faith 00:13:40.65\00:13:46.96 moves mountains. When our faith moves us, you all don't hear 00:13:46.99\00:13:50.43 what I'm saying, God won't part the Red Sea in front of you until you take your first step 00:13:50.46\00:13:58.13 of faith. You all don't hear what I'm saying. The healing was conditional upon their act of 00:13:58.17\00:14:05.57 They were not healed as long as they remained in Jesus' 00:14:05.61\00:14:12.75 presence. They were healed only after they followed Jesus' 00:14:12.78\00:14:18.35 instructions. Without obedience, there is no faith. Faith without 00:14:18.39\00:14:27.03 works is dead. Don't think that trusting God means letting God 00:14:27.10\00:14:32.70 do it all. All right, you still don't hear me. Some of you still 00:14:32.73\00:14:36.87 looking at me. That's not the end of the story. The Bible says in verses 15 and 16, look at 00:14:36.91\00:14:40.58 them, "And one of them, one of them, when he saw that he was 00:14:40.61\00:14:53.86 healed, he turned back--" Hallelujah, somebody-- [Congregation: Hallelujah.] 00:14:53.89\00:14:59.46 He turned around and the Bible says, not just with any old voice, but the Bible says, 00:14:59.49\00:15:08.44 with a loud voice, he glorified God. 00:15:08.47\00:15:14.04 The Bible says, "He fell down on his face." 00:15:14.08\00:15:18.18 Sometimes when you get into the presence of God, you got to fall, fall, fall straight 00:15:18.21\00:15:22.12 before the Lord. He falls on his face and his feet giving God 00:15:22.15\00:15:29.52 thanks. Then the text says, "And he was the Samaritan." 00:15:29.56\00:15:36.50 One of the lepers came back and said, "Thank you." The Bible says, "He fell on his face, 00:15:36.53\00:15:48.24 gave thanks and praised the Lord. He didn't care what anybody thought about him. 00:15:48.28\00:15:53.72 The secret of a thankful heart is a conscious choice not to 00:15:53.75\00:15:58.85 forget what God has done for you. 00:15:58.89\00:16:05.16 As I look back over my life and I see how God has blessed me. 00:16:05.19\00:16:13.74 This all I want to say, I truly say, 00:16:13.77\00:16:17.97 that I have a testimony that there's a danger in not giving 00:16:18.01\00:16:25.75 thanks. What am I talking about? Let me illustrate this, the 00:16:25.78\00:16:27.58 story. So the story's told of a man who surprised nine men who were robbing his house. 00:16:27.62\00:16:34.42 Eight of the robbers got away but the homeowner managed to catch one of the robbers. 00:16:34.46\00:16:40.93 He shoved one of the robbers into his backyard pool. 00:16:40.96\00:16:45.93 After realizing the robber couldn't swim, the homeowner jumped in the pool to save him. 00:16:45.97\00:16:54.34 Once out of the pool, the robber yelled back to his friends and 00:16:54.38\00:17:00.58 said, "Come back." Then he pulled out a knife 00:17:00.62\00:17:05.05 and he threatened the very man who had just saved him. 00:17:05.09\00:17:10.23 The homeowner said, "I'm going to get him." He threw the thief back into that pool. 00:17:10.26\00:17:14.73 You all don't hear what I'm saying. [Congregation: Yes.] 00:17:14.76\00:17:17.13 The thief almost drowns. Don't forget to say, "Thank you." 00:17:17.17\00:17:24.94 The Bible says-- I'm almost done-- ten lepers were healed, but only one came back to say, 00:17:24.97\00:17:32.15 "Thank you," and he was a Samaritan. 00:17:32.18\00:17:36.75 Now, there's a reason this sentence is included in this 00:17:36.79\00:17:39.15 text. I'm going to say this now and I'm going to sit down. 00:17:39.19\00:17:40.59 Remember now, Jesus was a Jew and the Jews hated the 00:17:40.62\00:17:44.66 Samaritans because they thought Samaritans where half-breed 00:17:44.69\00:17:48.16 traitors because some of the Jews had intermarried with the 00:17:48.20\00:17:50.80 Assyrians and had become in the eyes of their countrymen half-breeds and traitors. 00:17:50.83\00:17:55.37 So over the years, the Samaritans then had become a mixed-race with a mixed 00:17:55.40\00:18:01.58 religion. But not only that, the Samaritan was a leper. 00:18:01.61\00:18:05.25 So according to the Jews, the man was not only from the wrong 00:18:05.28\00:18:09.25 race but he had the wrong religion and he had the worst 00:18:09.28\00:18:14.69 possible disease. But I'm so glad that I serve a God who does not care about that. 00:18:14.72\00:18:20.90 He created the human race. Jesus loves everybody. Jesus came to 00:18:20.93\00:18:29.74 heal everybody. Jesus came to save everybody. If any man be in Christ, he's a new creature. 00:18:29.77\00:18:36.68 All things are pass away. All things become new. We know this 00:18:36.71\00:18:42.18 man was a leper. We know he was a Samaritan and while the Bible doesn't so directly, 00:18:42.22\00:18:46.55 the Bible does imply that the other nine lepers were Jews. 00:18:46.59\00:18:51.93 If that's then the case then those who should have been most grateful, they weren't. 00:18:51.96\00:19:00.90 The one man who shouldn't have come back, he did which reminds 00:19:00.94\00:19:07.21 me, the ones who help the most, appreciated the least. I wish I had a witness in this place. 00:19:07.24\00:19:13.05 [Congregation: I witness.] 00:19:13.08\00:19:15.08 But as the text closes, Jesus has some questions. "Were not 00:19:15.12\00:19:25.36 ten people healed? Where are the other nine? Is there no one here 00:19:25.39\00:19:33.17 but the stranger? Why didn't the other nine come back and say, 00:19:33.20\00:19:37.54 'Thank you.' Were they in a hurry to see the priest? Were they too busy? Where are the 00:19:37.57\00:19:46.18 other nine?" Jesus then told the man, "Rise, go your way. Your faith has made you whole." 00:19:46.21\00:19:58.23 Hallelujah, somebody. [Congregation: Hallelujah.] 00:19:58.26\00:20:00.73 Now, all ten had leprosy. All ten were outcasts from society. 00:20:00.76\00:20:08.80 All ten had heard about Jesus and believed He can help them. All ten cried for mercy. 00:20:08.84\00:20:16.71 All ten were healed but there was one difference. One man returned. Nine men went on. 00:20:16.75\00:20:28.96 One was grateful; nine went on. One was thankful; nine went on. One man got two miracles; 00:20:28.99\00:20:47.74 nine got one. So we all wonder why we're clapping after one got 00:20:47.78\00:20:53.35 two miracles. Can I tell you why? [Congregation: Why?] 00:20:53.38\00:20:55.65 All ten were healed. That's one miracle but the Samaritan was healed and he was forgiven. 00:20:55.68\00:21:08.76 That's two miracles which is why Jesus said, "Your faith has made 00:21:08.80\00:21:18.97 you whole." Come on somebody. If you don't believe me, let's look at the text one more time. 00:21:19.01\00:21:23.98 Look at verse 19, one more time. 00:21:24.01\00:21:26.48 You're going to learn at church so I have to show that I've studied this a little bit. 00:21:26.51\00:21:30.65 Look at verse number 19, the last part. The text says, 00:21:30.69\00:21:35.19 "Thy faith hath made thee--" what everybody? Whole. 00:21:35.22\00:21:41.50 Now, look at the second part of verse 14, "And it came to pass 00:21:41.53\00:21:51.84 that as they went, they were cleansed." Verse 17 says, "Made whole," verse 14 says, 00:21:51.87\00:22:01.82 "Cleansed." Now, look at verse 17, "Were there not ten 00:22:01.85\00:22:08.46 cleansed?" I want you to know some differences in the words 00:22:08.49\00:22:10.99 used here. In verses 14 and 17, the word used is "cleansed." Everybody say, "cleansed." 00:22:11.03\00:22:15.00 [Congregation: Cleansed.] 00:22:15.03\00:22:16.43 But in verse 19, the words used are, "made whole." Made what 00:22:16.46\00:22:21.60 everybody? [Congregation: --whole] 00:22:21.64\00:22:22.94 Now, all English translations used a different word in verses 00:22:22.97\00:22:27.04 14 and 17 than they do in verse number 19. 00:22:27.08\00:22:30.45 The reason is because they are different words in the original 00:22:30.48\00:22:34.85 Greek. The Greek words translated for "cleansed" in verses 14 and 17 is, 00:22:34.88\00:22:39.59 "Katharizo" it's where we get our word, "catharsis" 00:22:39.62\00:22:43.29 and it's only used for physical healing or cleansing. 00:22:43.32\00:22:49.60 But the word translated made well in verse 19, made whole is, "sozo" which means, 00:22:49.63\00:23:00.81 save and it's used for both physical cleansing and it's also used for spiritual salvation. 00:23:00.84\00:23:11.59 Salvation, "sotiria" is found in nobody else for there is only one name onto heaven 00:23:11.62\00:23:20.46 whereby we can be saved, "sozo" and that's Jesus. 00:23:20.50\00:23:24.77 You see, nine of the ten lepers were cleansed, "katharizo." 00:23:24.80\00:23:31.04 They went to the priest. They made offerings. 00:23:31.07\00:23:34.74 They did the ritual and they received physical healing. 00:23:34.78\00:23:39.05 But remember the law does not have the power to save. Only 00:23:39.08\00:23:48.42 Jesus can save. So they all got the physical cleansing but the tenth leper, the stranger, the 00:23:48.46\00:23:57.63 foreigner, the Samaritan, he didn't go to the priest because he knew the priest couldn't save 00:23:57.67\00:24:04.34 him. But the foreigner, the Samaritan, the stranger went to Jesus and he wasn't just healed 00:24:04.37\00:24:18.32 but he was saved. Let me say this before I sit down. 00:24:18.35\00:24:22.32 Jesus doesn't always heal us of our physical diseases. 00:24:22.36\00:24:27.96 When we say, less Sabbath when God says, "No." Sometimes He does and sometimes He doesn't. 00:24:28.00\00:24:35.94 But what I love about my Jesus, He always saves those who cry 00:24:35.97\00:24:45.45 out to Him. Those who cry for mercy. Those who fall at their 00:24:45.48\00:24:51.29 feet and so today, I fall at Jesus' feet and I say, thank 00:24:51.32\00:24:59.86 you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, not just for healing me. 00:24:59.89\00:25:07.64 Thank you for not just rescuing me. Thank you for not just 00:25:07.67\00:25:13.11 healing me. Thank you for not just delivering me. Thank you for not just protecting me but 00:25:13.14\00:25:19.61 thank you, Jesus, for saving me. Because when I think of the 00:25:19.65\00:25:26.42 goodness of Jesus and the whole He's done for me and my soul cries out Hallelujah. 00:25:26.45\00:25:32.93 Thank God for saving me. When I think of the goodness of Jesus, 00:25:32.96\00:25:37.43 then and only then am I free and I'm able to go pray and I'm able 00:25:37.47\00:25:43.57 to go tell. You see, I don't need to be coerced. I don't have 00:25:43.61\00:25:51.88 to be pressured. I don't need someone to pump me up. I praise God for the praising 00:25:51.91\00:25:55.72 but I don't need to praise Him to warm me up because when I 00:25:55.75\00:26:01.96 look over my life and I see what God has done. When I count my 00:26:01.99\00:26:07.13 blessings and I named them one by one-- does anybody else know what I'm talking about? 00:26:07.13\00:26:09.50 [Congregation: Yes.] 00:26:09.53\00:26:10.73 When I understand that every good and perfect gift comes 00:26:10.77\00:26:13.00 from above when I see what God has done for me; when I see that God has set me free, 00:26:13.03\00:26:20.11 that's when I begin to praise. That's when I begin to sing. That's when I begin to shout. 00:26:20.14\00:26:26.82 That's when I begin to clap my hands. That's when I begin to 00:26:26.85\00:26:31.39 stomp my feet. That's when I begin to tell. That's when I 00:26:31.42\00:26:34.39 begin to give. That's when I begin to serve and what was duty is now a privilege. 00:26:34.42\00:26:41.06 For me what was law is now grace. What was demanded is now 00:26:41.10\00:26:54.21 volunteered. What was forced is now free so I sing because I'm 00:26:54.24\00:27:02.42 happy. I sing because I'm free, His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me and today, 00:27:02.45\00:27:12.13 Thank you very much for tuning in to this week's Breath of Life 00:27:12.16\00:27:16.46 broadcast.
