00:05 Sermon #599 - Jesus and Revelation 00:08 [Breath of Life Theme Music] 00:20 PB: Jesus and Revelation. Anytime God is trying to 00:26 take you to a higher level in Him, the devil goes crazy. 00:31 Aud.: Amen. PB: I'm a witness that the higher the level, 00:36 the higher the devil. [Aud. reaction] 00:39 PB: I hear people complain sometimes, "Oh, the devil 00:43 is bothering me. The devil is whipping me. 00:46 The devil is doing this to me. The devil is messing 00:49 with me." But friends, you need to count it all joy. 00:52 [Aud. reaction] PB: Because if the devil weren't 00:54 messing with you, then maybe you and the devil are 00:57 running in the same direction. [Aud. reaction] 01:00 PB: Now, we're living in a time that is distinctively 01:04 different than anything we've seen before. 01:07 The devil is not playing with us. Times are 01:11 getting rough. Everybody say "rough." Aud.: Rough. 01:13 PB: Times are getting tough. Everybody say "tough." 01:17 Aud.: Tough. PB: And understand, we've got now 01:20 wars and rumors of wars. The Bible told us that. 01:23 We've got earthquakes in many different places. 01:27 Tornadoes threaten us every day. Just yesterday, 01:31 right here in Huntsville, we were threatened by 01:34 the imminence of a possible tornado. Terrorist 01:37 attacks are on the rise. Death, disease, and destruction 01:42 are rampant. Gunfire is commonplace. Racial disharmony 01:48 is like never before. We're in 2018, not the 1960s. 01:53 But I believe it's almost worse now than then, 01:57 because the difference today is people are given 02:02 the freedom to hate, the right to fight, pardon to 02:08 persecute, and license to kill. Now you can sit there 02:12 and act like you don't know what I'm talking about, 02:13 but let me refresh your memory. Explain to me how 02:17 this past Thursday two black men can be sitting in Starbucks-- 02:23 [Aud. reaction] PB: --playing games on their phones, 02:27 waiting for a friend, and then after a while when 02:30 the friend does get there, he sees them being taken 02:34 out in handcuffs simply because they didn't order anything. 02:38 Now, you can say oh my, that's a shame, but Thursday 02:41 it was them; tomorrow it could be you. Are you hearing 02:43 what I'm saying? [Aud. reaction] 02:45 PB: Even a white or Caucasian brother said, 02:48 "This has never happened to us, and we do the same thing." 02:53 In fact, it was reported that a white man had been sitting 02:56 in Starbucks for 30 minutes without making a purchase. 02:59 A jogger had come in, used the restroom without making 03:02 a purchase, but yet two black men are arrested. We've begun, 03:07 this weekend, missile attacks on Syria. But then, 03:12 our president is embroiled in controversy with Stormy Daniels. 03:18 It might be a diversion; I don't know. There's controversy 03:23 with James Comey, and believe you me, the half has not 03:27 been told. But, "What's in the dark?" my grandma used to say. 03:32 It will come to light. Do I have a witness in this place? 03:36 [Aud. reaction] PB: Our entire world seems to be 03:39 on the verge of nuclear war. Syria, Russia, North Korea, 03:44 the United States. But I hear the voice of God saying 03:49 to me in Revelation chapter 7 that God is clear that 03:52 He's holding back the winds of strife until His 03:56 servants have been sealed. Which means then, 03:59 North Korea, Russia, Syria, China, the United States, 04:04 and everybody else can do all they want, but they 04:07 can't do a thing that my God does not permit. 04:11 Are you hearing what I'm saying? [Aud. reaction] 04:13 PB: Some things are done in God's expressed will, 04:16 and some things are done in God's permissive will. 04:20 And while it might just seem that a nuclear attack 04:24 or a bomb has the power to take an entire people out, 04:29 God's Word is true that when Jesus comes back, 04:34 He's coming back for people. He's coming back for whom, everybody? 04:37 PB: The Bible is clear that the dead in Christ are 04:40 gonna rise first. Then we which are alive and remain 04:42 will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. And so, 04:45 if all the living dead--all the living--were dead from 04:49 a nuclear attack, there would be nobody for Jesus 04:51 to come back and get. PB: So, even though the world 04:57 is in a mess, I declare to you tonight, God is still 05:03 on the throne. [Aud. reaction] 05:06 PB: God's still got the whole world in His hands. 05:11 Trump can't move unless God lets him. Are you hearing 05:14 what I'm saying? [Aud. reaction] 05:16 PB: He that watches over Israel neither slumbers 05:19 nor sleeps. Do I have a witness in this place? 05:22 And so God, in the book of Revelation--the final 05:24 book of the Bible--He tells us what the end is gonna be. 05:28 And so regardless of what's going on in the world right now, 05:30 Revelation assures us of ultimate victory in Jesus Christ. 05:35 So we don't have to wait till the battle is over. 05:38 We can shout now! Because we know that in the end 05:43 we gonna win. Now, Revelation ensures us victory 05:48 in Jesus. Everybody say "Jesus." Aud.: Jesus. 05:51 PB: In fact, Revelation, the book, the entire book, 05:54 is all about Jesus. When you read Revelation 1:1. 05:58 Go there, everybody, Revelation 1:1. When you go 06:00 to Revelation 1:1, the text tells us that the revelation 06:04 is the revelation of Jesus Christ. So that lets me 06:08 know that the entire book is about Jesus. 06:10 It's about whom, everybody? Aud.: Jesus. 06:12 PB: Revelation chapter 1, verse number 1. If you have it, 06:15 read it with me. The Bible says, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ." 06:18 The Revelation of whom, everybody? Aud.: Jesus Christ. 06:20 PB: "Which God gave unto him, to shew unto his 06:22 servants things which must shortly come to pass; 06:24 and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his 06:27 servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, 06:30 and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all 06:32 things that he saw." Stop. God gave revelation to Jesus. 06:40 Jesus gave revelation to John. Are you hearing what 06:45 I'm saying? All right? Are you hearing--gave it to an angel, 06:48 and the angel gave it to John. Let me say that one more time. 06:52 God gave revelation to Jesus; Jesus gave it to an angel, 06:57 and an angel gave it to John. Now let's read verse 3. 07:01 "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the 07:06 words of this prophecy, and keep those things which 07:09 are written therein: for the time is at"--what, everybody? 07:12 Aud.: Hand. PB: Come on, the time is at what, everybody? 07:14 Aud.: Hand. PB: Verse 4. "John to the seven churches 07:16 which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, 07:19 from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; 07:21 and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 07:24 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, 07:27 and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of 07:29 the kings of the earth. Unto him that" did what, everybody? 07:31 PB: "Loved us, and washed us from our sins in 07:34 his own blood." Everybody say "blood." Aud.: Blood. 07:37 PB: So we recognize, Revelation is about Jesus. 07:40 Revelation is the revelation of Jesus Christ. 07:43 God gave it to Jesus; Jesus gave it to the angel; 07:47 the angel gave it to John and then John wrote it 07:50 down and gave it to us. He gave it to the Church. 07:54 Now, because Revelation is the revelation of Jesus Christ, 07:57 God is trying to reveal Jesus in this book. 08:00 God is trying to tell us about Jesus in the book of revelation. 08:04 Jesus is introduced as the ruler of the kings of the earth 08:07 in the beginning of the book, in Revelation 1:5. 08:09 And then if you go to the end of the book, in Revelation 19:16, 08:12 towards the end, Jesus is described as the King of kings. 08:16 So then, Jesus is King of kings. In Revelation, 08:21 He's Alpha and Omega. In Revelation, He's first and the last. 08:26 In Revelation, He's the beginning and the end. Which means 08:31 the good news about Jesus in Revelation is, Jesus created 08:35 us in the beginning, and because He's beginning and end, 08:38 He will recreate us in the end. [Aud. reaction] 08:42 PB: Genesis 1:1. "In the beginning, God created the 08:48 heavens and the" what, everybody? Aud.: Earth. 08:50 PB: Genesis 1:26. "And God said, 'Let us make man.'" 08:55 Again, the plurality of the Godhead: the Father, 08:58 the Son, the Holy Spirit. God said, "Let Us." 09:01 God did not say "Let Me make man," but "Let us 09:05 make man." Which means then, Jesus is God. 09:09 Jesus is whom, everybody? Aud.: God. 09:10 PB: But then we go to the New Testament, 09:12 in John chapter 1, verse number 1. And the Word says, 09:15 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, 09:18 and the Word was God." And then verse 14 says, 09:22 "The Word became flesh." Revelation is about Jesus. 09:29 But not only is Revelation about Jesus; 09:31 Revelation is also a prophetic book. Everybody say "prophetic." 09:37 Aud.: Prophetic. PB: It's the New Testament prophetic 09:39 book, and Daniel is its counterpart in the Old Testament. 09:43 So both books, Daniel and the Revelation, are historical 09:47 and eschatological. Eschatological; meaning, both tell 09:51 us what's gonna happen at the end of time. But a lot 09:56 of folk don't like to read Daniel and the Revelation, 09:58 because either they don't understand them, they're too 10:01 hard to read, or people get scared when they read them. 10:05 I don't know what all those symbols represent. 10:08 Daniel and the Revelation, those books get me scared, 10:13 all those lions and bears and leopards and beasts. 10:16 They're scary, and I don't know what they mean. Well, 10:19 let me tell you something. God said, "I've not given 10:22 you a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, a spirit 10:26 of power, a spirit of understanding and a sound mind." 10:29 I'm not scared of the devil. Get thee behind me, Satan! 10:34 [Aud. reaction] PB: In fact, the devil is not afraid 10:37 of me, either, but the devil is afraid of the Spirit 10:41 of God that lives inside of me. Are you hearing what 10:44 I'm saying, everybody? [Aud. reaction] 10:46 PB: No Christian has ever been demon possessed. 10:49 [Aud. reaction] PB: You can't be possessed by the 10:52 devil and possessed by Jesus at the same time. 10:56 And the Word says, "Greater is he that is in me 11:00 than he that is in the world." So I don't have to 11:04 be scared of the devil, because I've got Jesus in me. 11:07 [Aud. reaction] PB: When you understand all these 11:11 animals and symbols in Revelation, you will discover 11:15 that the books of Daniel and the Revelation are books 11:18 about God's love revealed in Jesus and the fact that 11:21 Jesus wants to save you. So then, Revelation is not 11:24 a closed book. Revelation is not a sealed book. 11:30 In fact, think about it. The very word "revelation" 11:33 contradicts the myth that it is a closed or sealed book, 11:38 or that God doesn't want you to read Revelation. Why? 11:41 Revelation, by its very definition, means to reveal. 11:45 To reveal is to expose. To reveal is to uncover. 11:51 To reveal is to make known. To reveal is to tall. 11:55 So then why would Jesus want Revelation sealed, 11:59 if it's called "revelation"? That doesn't make sense. 12:05 But more than that, God has promised us a blessing to 12:08 those who read, hear, and keep what's in Revelation. 12:15 Notice the text doesn't just say those who read, 12:18 but the text says those who read, hear, and keep 12:22 what's in this book. So the book of Revelation is 12:25 not a book to fear. Revelation reveals Jesus and 12:27 prepares us for Jesus' soon return. But the devil 12:30 is a liar. I said, the devil is a liar. 12:34 [Aud. reaction] PB: Satan does not want us to 12:37 read Revelation. Satan does not want us to hear Revelation. 12:42 Satan does not want us to keep Revelation, because 12:45 Revelation exposes Satan. But in the name of Jesus tonight, 12:51 bump Satan. Revelation is God's Word. Thy Word is a lamp 12:58 unto my feet, a light unto my path. Thy Word have I hid 13:03 in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee. Satan wants 13:07 you to put Revelation down, because Revelation exposes him. 13:12 But the symbols in Revelation need not hinder understanding 13:16 or make us scared. The Bible tells us what these symbols 13:20 mean in literal language. What am I talking about? You'll 13:24 learn with me. I teach you and I preach you, because it's 13:26 something to shout. But you gotta say something worth shouting about. 13:30 [Aud. reaction] PB: We got a lot of people that go to church 13:32 and they jump and they shout and they walk around "Oo, 13:33 we had a good time. Why are we all shouting? I don't know, 13:35 we were just shouting." But it's my baptized brain that makes 13:37 me shout. It's my sanctified psyche that makes me say hallelujah. 13:41 Are you hearing what I'm saying? Know what you believe, 13:44 know why you believe it, and know where it's found in the Word of God. 13:47 So let's look at some examples. Go the book of Daniel. 13:49 What book, everybody? Aud.: Daniel. 13:51 PB: Daniel. Go to the book of Daniel. Go to Daniel chapter 7. 13:54 Go to Daniel chapter 7, and we're gonna go to verse number 23. 13:57 Let's find out what some of these symbols are that Satan seeks 14:01 to have it closed so we can't know what God is trying to tell us. 14:05 Daniel chapter 7, and we're going to verse number 23. Daniel chapter 7 14:10 and verse number 23. If you have it, let me hear you say amen. 14:13 Aud.: Amen. PB: If you don't have it, say hold on. 14:16 All right, I'm holding. Come on, now. Daniel 7:23, 14:19 the Word of God says: "Thus he said, The fourth beast 14:23 shall be the fourth"--what, everybody? Come on, 14:26 the fourth beast shall be the fourth what? "Kingdom upon earth, 14:28 which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour 14:31 the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in"--what, everybody? 14:34 So when we study Bible prophecy, we recognize that a beast 14:39 represents a kingdom. But if you don't know that and you read 14:44 Daniel and you read Revelation, you are puzzled with, what are all 14:48 these beasts? What is this lion? What is this bear? What is this leopard? 14:52 What is this beast? But when you understand what these symbols mean, 14:56 you know what God is trying to tell us. God is trying to tell us 14:59 that a beast represents a what, everybody? Kingdom. 15:02 Let's get another example. Go to Ezekiel chapter 4. 15:08 Stay in the Old Testament. Go to Ezekiel chapter 4, 15:13 right after Daniel there. Go to Ezekiel chapter 4, 15:15 and we're gonna go to verse number 6. Ezekiel. Then uh, 15:19 the major prophets right there. Ezekiel chapter 4, 15:22 and we're going to verse number 6. Let's find out another clue, 15:26 what another symbol means. Ezekiel chapter 4 and verse number 6. 15:31 Ezekiel chapter 4, verse number 6. Ezekiel 4:6. If you have it, 15:36 let me hear you say amen. Aud.: Amen. 15:38 PB: "And when thou hast accomplished them, 15:40 lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear 15:42 the iniquity of the house of Judah"--for how many days, everybody? 15:45 Aud.: Forty. PB: How many days, everybody? 15:49 Aud.: Forty. PB: "I have appointed thee each day for a"--what? 15:51 Aud.: Year. PB: When you apply Bible prophecy, 15:53 one day equals one what? Year. So we recognize, 15:58 when you apply Bible prophecy, a beast represents a what? 16:02 Kingdom. And a day represents a what? Aud.: Year. 16:06 PB: But if you don't know that, you don't know what 16:08 you're reading. Let's get some more. Revelation chapter 17, 16:13 and let's go to verse number 15. Revelation chapter 17, 16:18 and verse number 15. Revelation chapter 17, and we're 16:21 going to verse number 15. Revelation chapter 17, verse number 15. 16:29 If you have it, let me hear you say amen. Aud.: Amen. 16:32 PB: The Word of God says, "And he saith unto me, 16:34 The waters"--the what, everybody? Aud.: Waters. 16:36 PB: "Which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, 16:40 are peoples, multitudes, and nations, and tongues." 16:47 So then, when we talk about Bible prophecy, water represents people. 16:54 A beast represents a kingdom; a day represents a year; 17:02 and water represents what? People. So when you read 17:06 Revelation and you're struggling. Well, what about this 17:10 time here, what's going on? When you read Revelation and 17:13 you say, what's going on with this beast. When you read 17:16 Revelation and you say, what's going on with this water. 17:18 You now better can answer those questions. 17:20 A beast represents a what, everybody? Kingdom. 17:23 A day represents a what? Year. And water represents what? 17:27 Aud.: People. PB: Now let's bring it home. Remember we 17:32 said that Revelation is about Jesus. Revelation is about whom, 17:35 everybody? And both Daniel and the Revelation are prophetic books. 17:40 They're what kind of books, everybody? Aud.: Prophetic. 17:43 PB: So then, if Revelation is about Jesus, 17:45 and Daniel and Revelation are about prophecy, 17:49 we should be able to find a prophecy about Jesus 17:54 is Daniel and the Revelation. Are we together, everybody? 17:58 Revelation is about Jesus; Daniel and Revelation area 18:03 about prophecy. So if Revelation is about Jesus, 18:07 and Daniel and Revelation are about prophecy, 18:09 we should be able to find a prophecy about Jesus. 18:13 Over 500 years before Jesus' birth, the Bible told 18:20 us in prophecy the exact year Jesus would be baptized. 18:26 The Bible told us the exact year Jesus would be baptized, 18:30 and when His ministry as the Messiah would begin. 18:34 So if you're wondering, yes, Jesus is both God and 18:39 He is also the Messiah. There is a prophecy that tells 18:43 us about Jesus and when He would come as the Messiah. 18:47 Go back to the book of Daniel. Go to Daniel, 18:50 go to Daniel chapter 9. Go to Daniel and go to 18:53 Daniel chapter 9, and we're gonna go to verse number 24. 18:56 Stay with me. Daniel chapter 9, verse number 24. 18:59 And this example is gonna further, further confirm 19:04 that the Bible is truly the Word of God. This text 19:08 is gonna confirm it, and then as we study during these 19:11 two weeks, we will discover that there are certain things 19:14 happening right now in Earth's history that correspond 19:19 with what Bible prophecy told us thousands of years before. 19:23 Are you hearing what I'm saying? Remember now, 19:26 Jesus told us thousands of years ago that just 19:29 before He comes the second time, there will be wars 19:31 and rumors of what, everybody? And we're living in a 19:34 state of war. You see, you don't understand it. 19:39 Iran and Iraq, they're fighting. They will always 19:43 be fighting. Why will there always be fighting? 19:47 Because Abraham, because of his lapse in faith, 19:51 lay with his handmaiden Hagar. She bore him a son, Ishmael. 19:58 That was the son of his disobedience. But if he had stayed 20:02 faithful to God, he would have stayed with Sarah. They bore 20:06 a son and they named him Isaac. He's the son of the promise. 20:10 But what we have now are millennia of bloodshed between the 20:15 son of disobedience and the son of the promise, 20:17 Abraham with Isaac and Ishmael, Iran and Iraq. 20:22 The fighting will never stop. [Aud. reaction] 20:28 PB: Daniel 9, verse number 24. If you have it, 20:34 let me hear you say amen. Aud.: Amen. 20:36 PB: All right, Daniel 9:24, the Word says, 20:38 "Seventy weeks." How many weeks, everybody? 20:41 Aud.: Seventy. PB: How many weeks, everybody? 20:43 Aud.: Seventy. PB: "Are determined upon thy people 20:45 and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, 20:47 and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation 20:50 for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, 20:53 and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the 20:56 most Holy." Which means, God had allotted 70 weeks for 21:05 His people, the Jewish nation, to have the gospel. 21:10 How many weeks, everybody? Aud.: Seventy. 21:11 PB: Now remember, we read that in Bible prophecy a day 21:16 represents a what? Aud.: Year. 21:17 PB: Come on, y'all are smart people. A day represents a what, everybody? 21:20 Aud.: A year. PB: All right, 70 weeks, God's people 21:24 would be able to have the gospel, but when we apply 21:27 biblical prophecy there are how many days in a week? 21:30 Aud.: Seven. PB: Not a trick question. Heh, heh, heh. 21:33 There are how many days in a week? Aud.: Seven. 21:35 PB: So if there are 70 weeks, and 70 is multiplied by 21:40 the number of days in a week, which is seven, 70 times what? 21:45 Seven is 490 days. Are you with me, everybody? Seventy weeks, 21:52 seven days in a week. Seventy times seven equals 490 days. 21:58 Are you with me, everybody? But then, the prophecy says that 22:02 a day represents a what? Year. So it's really not 490 days, 22:08 but it's really 490 what? Years. Which means God's people, 22:13 the Jewish nation, would be able to have access to the gospel 22:16 for 70 weeks, 70 times seven, 490 days, a day for a year, 22:22 490 years. Are you with me, everybody? [Aud. reaction] 22:27 PB: But if you don't know the symbols and what's going 22:29 on in Revelation and Daniel, you don't understand. 22:31 You just think 70 weeks. No. God is trying to tell us 490 years. 22:35 Now, when does the period begin? Go to verse 25. 22:41 "Now therefore and understand, that from the going forth 22:44 of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto 22:47 the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore 22:53 and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, 22:56 even in troublous times." All right, stop. The text is 23:00 telling us that the Messiah would come in seven weeks, 23:04 threescore and two weeks. Now let's, let's, let's get 23:08 that out there now. Seven weeks, threescore. When we say 23:14 a score, a score represents the number what, everybody? Twenty. 23:17 So when we say threescore, you're saying three times what? 23:21 Twenty. Are you with me, everybody? All right. So, seven weeks 23:26 plus threescore, which is 60 weeks; seven plus 60 is 60 what? Seven. 23:31 And then the text closes with how many more weeks? Two weeks. 23:36 So in essence, what the text is really saying is, the text is 23:39 saying that this command would go forth with the building of 23:44 Jerusalem's walls, and after seven weeks, threescore and two weeks, 23:49 the Messiah would come. Are you with me, everybody? The Messiah, 23:54 meaning Jesus Christ. Are you with me, everybody? 23:56 All right, so then if we take seven weeks--almost done here. 24:00 Seven weeks, then we take threescore, three times 20 is what? 24:05 Sixty. Seven plus 60 is 67, and two more weeks, the Bible 24:10 is then saying, after the decree to rebuild Jerusalem's walls, 24:14 69 weeks later the Messiah would come. Are you with me, everybody? 24:21 Now, 69 weeks after the decree to rebuild Jerusalem's walls, 24:25 Messiah would come. So if we're saying 69 weeks, how many 24:30 days are there in a week? Aud.: Seven. 24:33 PB: Come on, how many days are there in a week? 24:34 Aud.: Seven. PB: Seven. So with 70 weeks, we have 490 days. 24:38 With 69 weeks times seven, we have 483 days. 24:44 Four hundred eighty-three days, a day for a what? Year. 24:49 Then we actually have 483 what? Aud.: Years. 24:53 PB: Years. So that means, whenever the decree to 24:56 rebuild Jerusalem, whenever that took place, 483 years later 25:02 the Messiah would come. So, Pastor Byrd, when this decree come? 25:09 Put a bookmark in Daniel 9, 'cause we're going back there. 25:13 Go to the book of Ezra. What book, everybody? Aud.: Ezra. 25:17 PB: Almost done. Go to the book of Ezra, and we're going 25:20 to Ezra chapter 7. Ezra chapter 7. Ezra chapter 7. 25:24 And we're gonna go to verse number 7. Ezra chapter 7, 25:30 and verse number 7. Ezra chapter 7, verse 7. If you have it, 25:35 let me hear you say amen. Aud.: Amen. 25:37 PB: The Word says, "And there went up some of the children 25:39 of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, 25:42 and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the 25:44 seventh year of Artaxerxes the king." Verse 12: " Artaxerxes, 25:48 king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the 25:51 God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such time." Verse 13: 25:55 "I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, 25:58 and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded 26:03 of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee." Stop. 26:07 In the seventh year of Artaxerxes' reign, the decree to rebuild 26:15 Jerusalem's walls went into effect. Now, if you study history, 26:19 go home and look at it. You will discover that in 464 B.C. 26:24 came the decree to rebuild Jerusalem. Now, remember- 26:29 -and the screen can come on here--remember, if we have a time line, 26:35 this is B.C. Are you with me, everybody? Before Christ. This is A.D., 26:42 Anno Domini, in the year of our Lord. We are currently living in 2018 A.D. 26:49 Are you with me, everybody? We're in 2018 A.D. Artaxerxes decreed in four- 26:58 -he began his reign in 464 B.C., and he decreed seven years later, 27:05 which is 457 B.C., to rebuild Jerusalem's walls. Remember, 27:10 when we go with B.C., we count down. 464, 464, 463. When we go 27:18 to Anno Domini, we count up: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Are you with me, everybody? 27:26 So then, seven years from his beginning and reign in 464. Seven minus 464, 27:33 'cause we're going down, is 457. In 457, the walls to rebuild Jerusalem 27:41 were decreed to be rebuilt. The text says that 483 years later 27:49 the Messiah would come. Now, in 457 B.C., fall, that's when the 27:57 decree come. 483--483 years later--Messiah would come. 28:03 "Thank you very much for tuning into this 28:06 week's Breath of Life Broadcast. 28:08 We hope and pray that you have been blessed 28:10 by Dr. Byrd's inspirational message. 28:13 If you would like to hear this sermon in 28:14 its entirety, please feel free to visit us at 28:17 www.breathoflife.tv or call us at 256.929.6460. 28:27 [END] |
