00:02 Breath of Life Ministries Presents:
00:11 Sermon #B592 - "God's Miracle Zone"
00:20 PB: “And Jesus was passed over again by a ship unto
00:24 the other side. Much people”--that means a lotta folks─
00:28 “gathered unto him, and he was nigh unto the sea.
00:32 And behold there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue,
00:36 Jairus by name. When he saw him”--when he saw Jesus─
00:39 “he fell to his feet and besought him greatly,
00:41 saying "My little daughter lieth at the point of death.
00:44 I pray thee, come. Lay thy hands on her that she may
00:49 be healed and she shall live. And Jesus went with him,
00:53 and much people followed him in throngs.”
00:56 So, understand what's going on. Jesus is by the seaside
00:59 and there are a lot of people who are by Him,
01:00 but then Jairus comes, and Jairus says,
01:03 "I need you heal my daughter." Jesus gets up,
01:05 goes with Jairus, and a great number of people
01:07 began to follow Him. Verse 25, "A certain woman
01:12 which had an issue of blood 12 years and had
01:16 suffered many things of many physicians,
01:17 and had spent all that she had, and was
01:19 nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
01:21 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the
01:24 press behind, and touched his garment.
01:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes,
01:31 I shall be whole." Do y'all understand the
01:36 degree of faith to that? [Aud. reaction]
01:39 PB: If he doesn't even see me but if I
01:40 can just touch his clothes. "Straightway
01:44 the fountain of her blood was dried up;
01:46 and she felt in her body that she was
01:49 healed of that plague. And Jesus,
01:52 immediately knowing in himself that
01:54 virtue had gone out of him, turned around,
01:58 and said, Who touched my clothes?
02:02 And his disciples said unto him,
02:04 Thou seest the multitude thronging thee,
02:07 and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he
02:10 looked round about to see her that had
02:12 done this thing. But the woman fearing
02:13 and trembling, knowing what was done in her,
02:15 came and fell down before him, and told him
02:17 all the truth. And he said unto her,
02:20 Daughter, thy faith"--everybody say "faith."
02:24 Aud.: Faith. PB: "Hath made thee whole;
02:26 go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
02:27 While he yet spake"--this woman,
02:30 there comes from the ruler of the
02:33 synagogue's house somebody. So this is
02:36 one of the servants of the ruler.
02:38 And he says to Jairus, "Thy daughter is dead:
02:41 why troublest thou the Master any further?
02:46 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken"-
02:49 -I wish I had time just to preach that phrase,
02:51 because in other words, the man is talking
02:53 but Jesus hears what the man is saying at
02:55 the same time. "He saith unto the ruler of
02:59 the house, Be not afraid, only"--what, everybody?
03:03 Aud.: Believe. PB: "And he suffered no man
03:05 to follow him, save Peter, James and John."
03:08 There's a story in that, too. "And he cometh
03:12 to the synagogue--to the house of the ruler
03:14 of the synagogue--and seeth the tumult,
03:15 and them that wept and wailed greatly.
03:17 And when he was come in, he saith unto them,
03:18 Why make ye this ado, and weep?
03:20 the damsel is not"--what? Aud.: Dead.
03:23 PB: "But she"--what, everybody?
03:25 PB: And then verse 40 says they laughed at her.
03:28 Here Jesus is pronouncing a miracle and they
03:31 laughing at Jesus. "But when he had put them all out"-
03:35 -He put 'em out. "He taketh the father and the
03:40 mother of the damsel, and them that were with him,
03:42 and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
03:43 And he took the damsel by the hand,
03:45 and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is,
03:49 being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee"-
03:52 -do what, everybody? Aud.: Arise.
03:54 PB: "And straightway the damsel arose,
03:55 and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years.
03:59 And they were astonished with great astonishment.
04:01 And he charged them straitly that no man
04:03 should know it; and commanded that something
04:05 should be given her to eat." Today our subject
04:10 is entitled "God's Miracle Zone." Father,
04:16 bless us now. Speak through me to speak to
04:20 Your people. Forgive us of our sins, and Lord,
04:22 have Your way. Work it out for our good.
04:24 In Jesus' name we pray. Let everyone say amen.
04:28 Back in the day, before we had CNN, MSNBC, HLN,
04:38 Fox News, and other 24/7 news channels and
04:41 breaking news streaming into our iPhone, iPad,
04:45 Androids, and other digital devices, people
04:49 only got the news from one of two sources.
04:53 They got the news from either the newspaper
04:56 or the evening nightly news. Does anybody
05:00 remember what I'm talking about? But now we
05:03 live in a world and in an age where we have
05:06 instant access to news that happens around
05:09 the world and news that happens in the world,
05:12 in an instant. We can be sitting in church,
05:14 we can be on our job, and if anything newsworthy
05:18 comes up, we can see it right come through on
05:21 our mobile device. But more than that,
05:25 it is the nature of the news to report
05:27 the bad things that happen over the good things.
05:32 Speaking of good news and bad news,
05:34 I was reading a story this week about a man
05:36 who came home from work one evening.
05:39 The man walked into the kitchen to find his
05:41 stay-at-home mo--wife, rather, who took care
05:45 of their three preschoolers, looking terribly
05:48 frustrated and upset. The man could tell that
05:51 she was about to deliver some bad news to him,
05:53 so he held up his hand and said "Honey, hold up.
05:56 Wait a minute. Before you start, let me tell
05:58 you I've had a bad day at work. Nothing went right,
06:03 and I can tell that you have more bad news.
06:07 But whatever you do, babe, don't give me
06:09 any more bad news. Give me some good news."
06:13 Well, his wife, smart lady that she was,
06:15 looked at him and she says, "All right, honey.
06:17 You have three children, and today two of them
06:23 didn't fall out of a tree and break their arms."
06:27 [Aud. reaction] PB: That's what I call good
06:30 news and bad news. Do I have a witness in this
06:32 place? In Mark 5, we have two people with bad news.
06:41 Jesus brings some good news. Mark presents us
06:46 with a story within a story. In this text you
06:50 can get probably 10, 15 sermons out of this one text.
06:53 Mark prints us--presents us with a story within
06:56 a story, and there are similarities in both stories.
07:00 For one, both are women. One is a lady, one is a
07:06 little girl. Number two, both are physically sick.
07:09 One has an issue of blood and one is sick unto death.
07:15 Number three, both deal with the number 12.
07:19 The woman with the issue of blood has been
07:21 sick 12 years; the little girl is 12 years old.
07:26 And number four, and most importantly,
07:28 both need a miracle. So we enter into
07:33 God's miracle zone in chapter 5 of Mark.
07:37 The Bible tells us that Jairus is ruler
07:39 of the synagogue, which means he's the one
07:41 in charge of public worship. He's over the choir,
07:44 he's the head elder, he's over the praise team,
07:46 he's the pastor, he's a religious man. But the
07:49 Bible says his daughter is sick unto death.
07:53 Lesson number one in God's miracle zone:
07:55 If you want to enter God's miracle zone,
07:57 number one, just because you work for God
08:00 and just because you serve His church doesn't
08:02 exempt you from trial and tribulation.
08:05 [Aud. reaction] PB: Now I've been through
08:07 enough stuff in my life to know that you can
08:10 pray till your lips are dry. You can pray
08:14 until your tongue feels like sandpaper.
08:16 You can pray until your knees have welts on them.
08:20 Preach as hard as you want; sing as much as
08:23 you want; teach in church school at Oakwood.
08:27 But every now and then, you gonna go
08:29 through something. Somebody's gonna die.
08:32 Somebody's gonna get sick. Somebody's
08:35 gonna hurt you. Somebody's gonna disappoint you.
08:38 But I've learned, every experience that we
08:40 have in our lives is tied to a purpose.
08:43 Everything that God happens--allows to
08:45 happen in your life, through His providential will,
08:48 is, my friends, a sovereign setup. Remember,
08:52 your setback is just a setup for a comeback.
08:56 You'd better learn how to give God glory for
08:58 whatever you're going through, because what
09:01 you're going through is tied to something
09:03 bigger God has for your life. It was Paul,
09:07 as the choir sung, who said, And we know
09:09 that all things work together for good to
09:13 them who love the Lord and are called according
09:15 to His purpose. Suffering is God's way of making
09:18 us stronger, and suffering forces us to depend
09:20 on Him. Somebody's still not getting it.
09:24 Let me try it this way. So I thought of
09:26 Lynn Ross with this illustration.
09:27 I thought of you, Brother Ross.
09:29 I'm glad you're here today.
09:30 We have a lot of golfers in this church,
09:31 and this is a golf illustration.
09:33 Are we okay, everybody? Pastor Byrd doesn't golf.
09:35 My father-in-law, before I got married,
09:36 took me to the golfing range. I was trying
09:38 to get brownie points, but I haven't
09:39 been back since then. [Aud. reaction]
09:41 PB: Come on, say amen. All right,
09:43 have you ever looked closely at a golf ball?
09:48 All golf balls have dimples, little grooves,
09:54 in the surface. Now, I did a little study.
09:56 The first golf balls in Scotland were smooth.
10:01 And it would seem that a smooth surface would
10:04 make the golf ball fly further and straighter.
10:08 But these original golfers discovered that
10:11 when the smooth golf balls got scratched
10:14 and roughed up, they actually flew further
10:17 because of an aerodynamic principle.
10:19 Y'all don't hear what I'm saying.
10:21 So the old golfers would cut grooves
10:23 and shallow holes in their golf balls,
10:26 and eventually golf balls were manufactured
10:29 with dimples instead of smooth surfaces.
10:33 A golf ball is a parable of our lives.
10:36 God knows that if our lives were perfectly smooth,
10:41 we wouldn't go as far. You don't hear
10:44 what I'm saying. So God knows that a few
10:47 rough edges, a few rough experiences,
10:50 will actually take us further in life.
10:53 I wish I had a witness in this place.
10:55 You see, if I had not gone through what
10:57 I've gone through over my 24 years of ministry,
10:59 I would not be who I am today. Are you
11:02 hearing what I'm saying? So just because
11:04 you're a pastor doesn't exempt you from suffering.
11:08 Just because you're an elder doesn't exempt
11:12 you from suffering. Just because you sing in
11:15 the praise team or in the choir, you're a deacon
11:17 or deaconess, doesn't exempt you from suffering.
11:20 You have to have some rough edges. You've gotta
11:23 have some rough experiences. You still gotta
11:27 go through some fire to come out as pure gold.
11:30 Are you hearing what I'm saying?
11:31 The Bible declares that Jairus' daughter is
11:33 sick unto death, and that there is a multitude
11:35 that is gathered by the seashore to hear Jesus.
11:37 But Jairus fights through the crowd so he can
11:40 get to Jesus, because he says, What I need,
11:42 I don't need from anybody else. What I need,
11:45 I can only get from Jesus. People are pressing
11:47 Jesus on every side. They're pushing Him.
11:50 They're shoving Him, because everyone wants
11:52 to see this famous miracle worker. But in
11:54 spite of this, Jairus wasn't gonna let the
11:57 crowd stop him from what he needed.
12:00 He has to get into God's miracle zone.
12:05 So what does he do? Lesson number two:
12:08 Don't let anyone or anything stop you from
12:13 getting your miracle. Ha ha. Aud.: Amen.
12:16 PB: All right, so, there comes a time
12:17 in your life where you've got to make up
12:19 your mind that it doesn't make a difference
12:21 how many folk are around you. It doesn't
12:23 make a difference how many folk are looking
12:24 at you strange in church 'cause you're
12:26 clapping your hands. But you've got to learn
12:28 to refuse to be intimidated by the crowd.
12:30 I'm not worried about what people may say.
12:33 I'm not worried about what people may do.
12:36 I've learned, people may look at me funny,
12:38 but by any means necessary I've got to
12:42 get to my Jesus. And when you're in the
12:44 crowd trying to get to Jesus, you're not
12:46 in the crowd looking like everybody else.
12:49 You're not in the crowd to be a spectator.
12:52 You're not in the crowd to be an onlooker.
12:54 You're not in the crowd just to try to find
12:56 out who's here and who's not here.
12:57 You are trying to Jesus. Ellen White says
13:00 that as soon as Jairus approached Jesus,
13:04 Jesus set out at once to Jairus's house.
13:08 So now, they're on their way to Jairus's house.
13:09 They're on their way to the house,
13:11 because when all of a sudden,
13:12 the Bible says that a woman--a what, everybody?
13:14 PB: A what, everybody? A woman interrupts them.
13:18 So what do you do when you're trying to get
13:20 to Jesus, and somebody interrupts you?
13:23 What do you do when you're trying to listen
13:26 to the sermon, and somebody interrupts you?
13:30 What do you do when you need a miracle
13:32 from Jesus, and you're being distracted?
13:36 What do you do when you need healing for
13:38 your body? Peace for your soul? And it's
13:41 broken up by a distracting, disturbing force
13:43 you can't control. Jesus is following Jairus
13:45 to Jairus's house, but there's a woman who
13:49 heard Jesus was passing by. She needed a
13:51 miracle, too. She needed to get in
13:53 Jesus' miracle zone. So she works her way
13:55 through the crowd, and says If I can just
13:57 touch His clothes. But wait a minute.
14:01 Jesus is on His way to Jairus's house.
14:04 Jairus's daughter needs a miracle.
14:06 So imagine--let's be clear. Here he is,
14:09 the ruler of the synagogue; here he is,
14:11 the pastor of church. I imagine myself
14:12 in this situation, and I have a baby girl
14:14 that's sick, and I'm walking with Jesus,
14:15 and somebody--Jesus is about to give my
14:18 daughter just what she needs, but then
14:20 Jesus stops and says, Somebody touched Me.
14:23 Jesus, yes. Somebody touched You.
14:30 There are a bunch of people out here, pushing,
14:33 shoving, touching. What do you mean, somebody
14:37 touched You? But I believe I've got a witness
14:40 in this place-- [Aud. reaction]
14:41 PB: --that knows casual contact with
14:43 Christ isn't the same as a desperate grasp
14:46 of faith. Jesus stops, and says somebody touched me.
14:51 But Jairus is trying to hurry Jesus to his
14:53 house to see his daughter, but he's been
14:54 interrupted--interrupted by this woman.
14:56 So let's make it practical today.
14:58 What do you do when you need a miracle,
15:00 but somebody has to get there first?
15:02 What do you do when somebody has to get
15:05 their healing first? Their deliverance first?
15:08 Somebody has to get the job first.
15:11 I've come to tell you today that you need
15:14 to understand that even when it looks like
15:16 somebody has to get their miracle first,
15:19 it does not dilute the fact that your miracle
15:22 is on the way. [Aud. reaction]
15:24 PB: Maybe God just might be saying today,
15:27 I'm trying to see how you gonna act when
15:30 I bless other folk before I bless you.
15:33 Y'all don't hear what I'm saying.
15:34 I'm trying to see if you gonna have an
15:36 attitude when somebody else gets the promotion;
15:39 when somebody else passes the test;
15:42 when somebody else gets the job first;
15:45 when somebody else graduates first;
15:47 when somebody else gets married first;
15:49 when somebody else gets the baby first;
15:51 when somebody else gets the house first;
15:53 when somebody else gets a car first;
15:55 when someone gets out of debt first;
15:57 when somebody else gets the healing first.
15:59 Jesus heals the woman, tells the woman,
16:02 Your faith has made you whole.
16:05 So the text--we read it--the messenger comes
16:09 up to Jairus. He says, Jairus, don't worry about it.
16:13 Don't trouble Jesus. Your daughter is dead.
16:19 I can hear Jairus saying, If it weren't for
16:25 this woman, we woulda made it on time.
16:29 I know she needed a miracle; I know she
16:32 needed a healing, but if it weren't for
16:33 this interruption, we would have gotten to
16:37 the house on time. But Mark 5:36 says,
16:41 "Jesus heard the word that was spoken."
16:46 In other words, He overheard their conversation.
16:51 I like how Ellen White puts in “Desire of Ages.”
16:53 She says that Jairus caught the ear of Jesus.
16:58 Jesus says, “Be not afraid,” __ me. Only believe.”
17:01 In other words, Jesus says to Jairus, Look bro,
17:05 whose report are you gonna believe? Don't you
17:08 know who I am? [Aud. reaction]
17:10 PB: I am the Resurrection and the Life.
17:15 If I do show up late, I'm still early.
17:19 In fact, it's not a miracle if I get
17:22 there when you want Me to, it's a miracle
17:25 when I show up late. Which leads me to
17:27 lesson number three: He may not come
17:29 when you want Him, but He's always
17:33 right on time. Delay is not denial.
17:37 I've learned in my life, sometimes
17:39 God says yes; sometimes God says no;
17:43 and sometimes God says not yet.
17:46 Are you hearing what I'm saying?
17:48 Let me throw this in. It's not one
17:49 of the lessons, but it's still good anyway.
17:51 Come on, say amen. This story illustrates
17:53 why you have to surround yourself with
17:55 positive people. Think about it.
17:58 Negative people, unbelieving folk,
18:00 told Jairus, she's dead. They told Jairus,
18:03 move on. Forget about it. But friends,
18:05 you gotta surround yourself with positive people.
18:07 You don't need to be around folk who mean
18:09 you no good. You can do bad by yourself.
18:13 Are you hearing what I'm saying?
18:15 That's why I gotta be around positive-
18:16 -I like going up to people who smile
18:17 when I smile. Are you hearing what I'm saying?
18:19 That are approachable. They don't have that look.
18:21 Don't talk to me, don't say anything to me.
18:23 I ain't got time for that. Come on, say amen.
18:24 [Aud. reaction] PB: You gotta be around
18:26 positive people. You have to be around-
18:28 -listen to me good, this is practical.
18:29 Not in the message but let me tell you this-
18:31 -you gotta learn to be around winners.
18:33 [Aud. reaction] PB: There's a certain mentality
18:37 associated with being a winner.
18:39 People who are winners hang together.
18:43 Winners expect to win. Winners don't-
18:48 -y'all don't hear what I'm saying-
18:49 -winners don't expect to lose.
18:52 That's why certain teams--except the Patriots.
18:55 Ha ha ha. [Aud. reaction]
18:58 PB: Always have winning seasons.
19:01 They don't apply here. I have my reasons.
19:03 Some sports teams always have losing seasons.
19:08 I don't care who they draft, I don't care what
19:11 free agents they get, because they have a loser
19:13 mentality. They always lose. But winners
19:17 expect to win. But that's just not in the
19:21 secular world, that's also in the spiritual world.
19:24 If you are a spiritual winner--I wish I had a
19:26 witness in this place--you will gravitate to
19:29 people who are also spiritual winners.
19:31 Because there's a mentality that goes along
19:33 with winning. And once you get the mentality
19:35 of a winner, you can listen to a person talk
19:37 for a few minutes. All it takes me is five
19:40 minutes to talk to somebody, I know where
19:42 they are. That's all it takes. And you can
19:44 talk to somebody for five minutes,
19:46 and it either feeds you or it doesn't.
19:48 And sooner than later, things that don't
19:50 feed you, you don't spend time fooling with.
19:53 Because it's counterproductive to where
19:55 you're trying to go. Are you hearing what
19:57 I'm saying? You see, friends of mine-
19:59 -and I don't mean to sound arrogant,
20:01 I'm just being transparent today.
20:02 This is a regular worship not a special day.
20:04 I can just talk to my church. Let me tell you,
20:06 I'm a winner. [Aud. reaction]
20:09 PB: I'm more than a conqueror. [Aud. reaction]
20:14 PB: I'm trying to go somewhere.
20:16 I'm trying to get to God's great heaven.
20:19 I'm trying to get to God's great kingdom.
20:22 I'm a winner. I don't fight for victory;
20:25 I fight from victory. Jesus has already won.
20:29 Satan has already been defeated.
20:31 Don't wait till the battle is over--shout now!!
20:36 [Aud. reaction] PB: Losing and failing
20:38 promotes a specific mindset. You can get
20:42 around some failing folk, and have failing
20:44 circumstances and listen to all that negative
20:46 talk, and you'll find yourself unable to
20:48 get back up again, because not only are
20:50 you down but your environment is down,
20:53 and everybody that is talking to you is
20:55 talking down. And so you develop a mentality
20:57 that is built around your condition.
21:00 That's why you have to watch who you hang with.
21:02 Watch who your friends are. You are the
21:07 company you keep. Birds of a feather
21:09 flock together. Where there is fear,
21:12 there is little faith. Jairus has been
21:16 so strong in faith that he found no difficulty
21:18 in believing that Jesus could heal his daughter.
21:21 So, Jesus gets to Jairus's house, and then
21:25 Jesus says in the text, verse 37. Look at
21:27 it when you go home. Jesus says in the text,
21:29 verse 37. He says, "I need Peter, James,
21:35 and John." Y'all don't hear what I'm saying.
21:40 I need Peter, James, and John. I appreciate
21:50 everybody else. I thank everybody else,
21:54 but I need Peter, James, and John.
22:02 Because we're getting ready to confront
22:05 the enemy. [Aud. reaction]
22:07 PB: And I need around me Peter, James,
22:13 and John. Can I give you lesson number four?
22:17 The closer you get to your miracle,
22:21 your crowd is gonna get smaller.
22:23 I wish I had a witness in this place.
22:25 [Aud. reaction] PB: The, the--I look at
22:29 my ministry. I'm being transparent with
22:31 you guys today. Soso, Mississippi.
22:33 Two people in Laurel. How many people, everybody?
22:38 Count 'em. How many? Aud.: Two.
22:40 PB: Two. I was USM President of Oakwood.
22:44 Graduated in '94. Elder McCoy hired me,
22:46 sent me down to Laurel Soso, in Clement, Mississippi.
22:49 I went to my first Sabbath, my installation Sabbath.
22:52 How many members? One and two.
22:57 Preaching hard one Sabbath, 'cause I said
23:03 wherever there are two or three gathered in
23:04 God's name--[Aud. reaction]
23:07 PB: --God said He'd be in the midst.
23:09 I'm preaching to those two ladies over 65.
23:11 One of 'em puts their hands up, goes out the room.
23:14 The other puts their hands, goes out and I'm
23:15 preaching to myself! [Aud. reaction]
23:18 PB: That's why I had to get married
23:19 and have children. I had to increase the
23:20 membership. Come on, say amen. [Aud. reaction]
23:22 PB: Two. And I've looked at my ministry.
23:26 Listen to me--Pastor Byrd being transparent today.
23:30 Soso, Laurel, Columbia. Then I went to Tuscaloosa
23:33 and Utah, then to Nashville, then to Houston,
23:34 then to Atlanta, then to Oakwood Church.
23:37 And people who were my friends before,
23:39 they ain't friends now. Not because of
23:43 anything I've done, but the closer you get
23:45 to your miracle--[Aud. reaction]
23:48 PB: --the closer you get to your breakthrough,
23:51 your crowd gets smaller. Young people,
23:54 young preachers, one of y'all is going to
23:56 take my place one day. I'm telling you,
23:58 it's lonely at the top. I praise God for that woman,
24:01 Danielle Byrd, right there and my three girls.
24:03 'Cause at the end of the day, when I'm on my sickbed
24:07 of affliction, I know Richard Long will come see me.
24:10 I know my Peter, James, and John will come see me.
24:11 But I came with my family; I'm leaving with my family.
24:14 Y'all don't hear what I'm saying. [Aud. reaction]
24:16 PB: The closer you get to your miracle,
24:19 your crowd is gonna get smaller, because everybody
24:22 is not gonna understand the level of spiritual
24:23 warfare you're about to enter into. That's why
24:26 you gotta know who your Peter, James, and John are.
24:28 It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with Matthew,
24:31 Andrew, or Thomas. But you've got to know who your
24:36 Peter, James, and John are, because everybody can't
24:41 handle everything. I wish I had a witness in this place.
24:43 [Aud. reaction] PB: They get to the house,
24:47 and the people in the house are crying.
24:49 Ellen White says that there are professional
24:52 mourners. People who get paid to cry.
24:56 Jesus walks in with Peter, James, and John,
25:03 and Jesus says to Jairus, Your daughter is
25:07 not dead. She's just asleep. The Bible then
25:14 says in verse 40 that the people in the house
25:18 started laughing. They started making fun of Jesus,
25:23 like Jesus was crazy; like Jesus was making up
25:26 something. But then, the Bible says-
25:29 -that's why I love me some Jesus.
25:31 People try to make Jesus out like He's
25:32 some weak, mild-mannered man--I love me some Jesus.
25:35 They laughing at Jesus, and Jesus, the Bible says,
25:39 put them out. [Aud. reaction]
25:44 PB: The house. Now, let me be clear.
25:46 I'm being transparent. I don't want anyone to
25:50 leave Oakwood Church. I don't want anyone to leave
25:54 Oakwood Church. I don't. I don't want anyone to
25:58 transfer out of Oakwood Church. I don't.
26:01 I love everybody. When someone says, I'm gonna go
26:04 a different way, I try to talk to 'em. I don't want
26:06 any of that. But I've learned in my ministry,
26:08 sometimes you have to have blessed subtractions--
26:12 [Laughter] PB: --for multiple additions.
26:17 Y'all don't hear what I'm saying. Jesus put 'em out.
26:22 There are many times when I go to the hospital.
26:26 One of you are sick, and the family says,
26:30 Pastor come pray for me. Pray my family member.
26:32 And before I pray, I say, it's nice seeing all
26:35 of you all. But let me tell you something.
26:39 I believe in Jehovah Rapha. I believe that
26:43 He is a healer. And if you don't believe that,
26:46 ain't no hard feelings. I'm not mad at you.
26:49 But you need to get up out of this room,
26:52 because we're about to pray down the power of God,
26:56 and I don't need any doubting, any faithless,
26:59 any laughing spirits in this room, and God told
27:04 me to tell somebody today that there are some
27:07 folk laughing at what God is about to do in your life.
27:10 Put them out! [Aud. reaction]
27:15 PB: You need somebody that can stand in agreement
27:23 with you. You need a child who God--who knows
27:27 how to fall on their knees and pray. All right,
27:29 so y'all know I love Elder Long. He's Elder Long;
27:32 he's Uncle Richard to me. All right. I put that
27:35 out there. I'm being transparent today.
27:37 I love Brother Jacobs, but he's Uncle Harold to me,
27:40 because when I grew up as a kid, that's all I knew.
27:43 Before we started this project, I thought--Listen now.
27:46 We gonna do this thing. We don't need any
27:50 doubting spirits. If we gonna do it;
27:54 let's do it. But we don't need no coward soldiers.
28:01 "Thank you very much for tuning into this
