saw him”--when he saw Jesus-

saying "My little daughter
lieth at the point of death.

I pray thee, come. Lay
thy hands on her that she may

So, understand what's going
on. Jesus is by the seaside

and there are a lot
of people who are by Him,

but then Jairus
comes, and Jairus says,

"I need you heal my
daughter." Jesus gets up,

goes with Jairus, and
a great number of people

began to follow Him. 
Verse 25, "A certain woman

which had an issue of
blood 12 years and had

suffered many
things of many physicians,

and had spent all
that she had, and was

nothing bettered,
but rather grew worse,

When she had heard
of Jesus, came in the

As soon as Jesus heard
the word that was spoken"-

just to preach that phrase,

words, the man is talking

but Jesus hears
what the man is saying at

digital devices, people

only got the news
from one of two sources.

They got the news
from either the newspaper

or the evening
nightly news. Does anybody

remember what I'm
talking about? But now we

live in a world and
in an age where we have

instant access to
news that happens around

the world and news
that happens in the world,

in an instant. We
can be sitting in church,

we can be on our job,
and if anything newsworthy

comes up, we can see
it right come through on

our mobile device.
But more than that,

it is the nature
of the news to report

the bad things that
happen over the good things.

Speaking of good
news and bad news,

I was reading a
story this week about a man

who came home
from work one evening.

The man walked into
the kitchen to find his

stay-at-home
mo--wife, rather, who took care
00:05:41.87\00:05:45.04
of their three
preschoolers, looking terribly
00:05:45.07\00:05:48.14
frustrated and upset.
The man could tell that
00:05:48.18\00:05:51.05
she was about to
deliver some bad news to him,
00:05:51.08\00:05:53.92
so he held up his hand
and said "Honey, hold up.
00:05:53.95\00:05:56.05
Wait a minute. Before
you start, let me tell
00:05:56.08\00:05:58.79
you I've had a bad day
at work. Nothing went right,

and I can tell that
you have more bad news.

But whatever you
do, babe, don't give me

any more bad news.
Give me some good news."

Well, his wife,
smart lady that she was,

looked at him and she

have two people with bad news.

Jesus brings some
good news. Mark presents us

with a story within a
story. In this text you

can get probably 10, 15
sermons out of this one text.

Mark prints us--presents
us with a story within

a story, and there are
similarities in both stories.

For one, both are
women. One is a lady, one is a

little girl. Number two,
both are physically sick.

One has an issue of blood
and one is sick unto death.

deal with the number 12.

The woman with the
issue of blood has been

sick 12 years; the
little girl is 12 years old.

And number four,
and most importantly,

both need a
miracle. So we enter into

God's miracle zone
in chapter 5 of Mark.

The Bible tells us
that Jairus is ruler
00:07:37.59\00:07:39.59
of the synagogue,
which means he's the one
00:07:39.62\00:07:41.69
in charge of public
worship. He's over the choir,
00:07:41.72\00:07:44.29
he's the head elder,
he's over the praise team,
00:07:44.33\00:07:46.83
he's the pastor, he's
a religious man. But the
00:07:46.86\00:07:49.66
Bible says his
daughter is sick unto death.
00:07:49.70\00:07:53.07
Lesson number one
in God's miracle zone:

If you want to
enter God's miracle zone,

number one, just
because you work for God

and just because you
serve His church doesn't

exempt you from
trial and tribulation.

But I've learned,
every experience that we

have in our lives
is tied to a purpose.

Everything that
God happens--allows to

happen in your life,
through His providential will,

is, my friends, a
sovereign setup. Remember,

your setback is just
a setup for a comeback.

how to give God glory for

whatever you're
going through, because what

you're going
through is tied to something

bigger God has for

that all things
work together for good to

them who love the Lord

to His purpose.
Suffering is God's way of making

us stronger, and
suffering forces us to depend

on Him. Somebody's
still not getting it.

in Scotland were smooth.

that a smooth surface would

further and straighter.

when the smooth
golf balls got scratched

and roughed up, they

parable of our lives.

few rough experiences,

exempt you from suffering.

rough edges. You've gotta

The Bible declares
that Jairus' daughter is

sick unto death, and
that there is a multitude

that is gathered by
the seashore to hear Jesus.

But Jairus fights
through the crowd so he can

get to Jesus,
because he says, What I need,

I don't need from
anybody else. What I need,

I can only get from
Jesus. People are pressing
00:11:45.27\00:11:47.87
Jesus on every
side. They're pushing Him.
00:11:47.90\00:11:50.07
They're shoving Him,
because everyone wants
00:11:50.11\00:11:52.04
to see this famous
miracle worker. But in
00:11:52.07\00:11:54.31
spite of this,
Jairus wasn't gonna let the
00:11:54.34\00:11:57.95
crowd stop him
from what he needed.

He has to get into
God's miracle zone.
00:12:00.98\00:12:05.02
So what does he
do? Lesson number two:

Don't let anyone or
anything stop you from

You are trying to

their way to Jairus's house.

Jesus is following Jairus

but there's a woman who

heard Jesus was
passing by. She needed a

miracle, too.
She needed to get in
00:13:51.23\00:13:53.16
Jesus' miracle
zone. So she works her way
00:13:53.19\00:13:55.56
through the crowd,
and says If I can just
00:13:55.60\00:13:57.13
touch His
clothes. But wait a minute.
00:13:57.17\00:14:01.17
Jesus is on His
way to Jairus's house.
00:14:01.20\00:14:04.21
Jairus's
daughter needs a miracle.

So imagine--let's
be clear. Here he is,

the ruler of the
synagogue; here he is,

the pastor of
church. I imagine myself
00:14:11.25\00:14:12.35
in this situation,
and I have a baby girl

that's sick, and
I'm walking with Jesus,
00:14:14.05\00:14:15.75
and somebody--Jesus
is about to give my
00:14:15.78\00:14:18.82
daughter just what
she needs, but then

Jesus stops and
says, Somebody touched Me.

Jesus, yes.
Somebody touched You.

There are a bunch of
people out here, pushing,

shoving, touching.
What do you mean, somebody

believe I've got a witness

Christ isn't the
same as a desperate grasp

of faith. Jesus stops,
and says somebody touched me.

to hurry Jesus to his

house to see his
daughter, but he's been

interrupted--interrupted
by this woman.

it practical today.

What do you do
when you need a miracle,

but somebody has
to get there first?
