What is Paul telling us? 
Paul is trying to tell us,

Roman soldiers wore sandals

that had nails driven through
the bottom to provide the

soldier with sure
footing on the battlefield.

The Roman soldier then,
because these nails were

underneath the sandal,
didn't have to worry about

heat of battle because the

well grounded.  As followers

grounded in the things of God.

four, the shield of faith.
