many different forms

which is like
taking a pitcher and having

water poured on
you; and then there's

even a method out
there called the dry

cleaning method,
where the preacher just

pronounces and
says "you're baptized."

No water, no sprinkling,

Now, this is very
interesting that this

is a method, but
then I'm reminded that

for everything God has as true,

the devil has as counterfeit.

Apostle Paul makes it

clear that there is
one Lord, one faith,

and one baptism.

and one type of
baptism, which means God

only recognizes
one form of baptism.

It's not
immersion and sprinkling and

dry cleaning and
anointing and the pronouncement

of the Holy Ghost, but
it's one form of Bible baptism.

A story is told in
the early days of missions

in Korea that a page
or two of the gospel story

found its way up into a
remote mountain village.

The people up in
this remote area read the

gospel story of
Jesus, and after spreading

accepted the
message. They established a

church there in the
remote area, and they

hoped that in the
future perhaps that somebody

else would come to
them a little later,

for they knew only
what the few meager pages

that they found
contained. But as they were

able to understand,
they fulfilled the conditions

of the gospel
until it came to baptism.

They couldn't fulfill
the requirements of the

gospel for baptism
because they didn't know how

baptism should be
done. So what they did was,

they talked it over
and after much prayer and

discussion they decided
they all needed to go home,

and they took a private
personal bath in the name

of the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Ghost.

They didn't know much
about baptism or how baptism

should be done, but
they did their best to

unite themselves
with Jesus, in the best

form of baptism that
they knew. Well tonight,

we don't have to
worry about that because

the Bible gives us
the form of baptism

according to God.
And when you know better,

you've got to do
better. Baptism comes

bring about our salvation.

It was Jesus, God the
Son, who was actually baptized.

pleased," and then it was God

the Holy Spirit who
descended in the form of a dove.

But I also like this
text, because this text removes

all doubt about the right
form of baptism. What do I mean?

The Bible says in verse 10
that Jesus came straightway

up out of the water.
After He was baptized,

He came up out of
the water, which means He

wasn't sprinkled on.
Water was not just merely
00:07:26.84\00:07:30.91
poured on Him. The
Bible is very clear that

nobody just pronounced
Him baptized, or that He

was merely just
baptized in the Spirit. But the

Bible says that Jesus
came straightway up out

of the water. Now,
this is important, because

the devil if he can will
seek to deceive us on baptism.

The story is told of a minister,

who was giving a
sermon on baptism,

and in the course
of the sermon he was

just preaching,
preaching. But he was

incorrectly
preaching. He was incorrectly

illustrating the
fact that baptism should

take place by
sprinkling and not immersion.

He was just preaching
and preaching and preaching,

and nothing he was
saying was rooted in the

Word of God. That's
why to the law and to

the testimony, if
somebody does not speak

Word, it is because there

is no light in them. The
man was wrong and strong.

But to prove his wrong
point, he began to point

out other instances
incorrectly in the Bible.

He said that when
John the Baptist baptized

Jesus in the Jordan
River, it didn't mean

in the river, but it
meant close, 'round about,

or nearby the river.
The man went on to preach

and said that when
Philip baptized the unit
00:08:50.59\00:08:53.26
in the river, it
didn't mean in the river,

but it meant close to
the river, 'round about

the river, or nearby the river.

After church that day, a
man came up to the preacher

and said, Man, that was

I've ever heard in my life,

it always bothered me.
But after listening to you,

now I know that Jonah
wasn't really in the fish,

swimming in the water. But you

also cleared up for
me about the three Hebrew

into the fiery furnace.
