just traveled from Galilee to

Jerusalem in order to celebrate
one of the great religious

feasts, but when He arrived
in Jerusalem the Bible says He

comes to the pool of Bethesda.
Bethesda means the house of

mercy. Bethesda means the
house of healing. Everybody say

Doesn't a broke person want

fundamental problems with

of all, Jesus asked the man,

But the man doesn't answer
Jesus' question. Jesus never

asked him about his problems
or excuses for being healed.

Secondly, I have a problem with
his response because he says,

I have nobody to help me get
in the water or put me in the

water. But think about it.
Everybody around the pool is

sick. So how can somebody who's
sick get healing from somebody

else who's sick? Because if
you're around sick people long

enough, you'll start getting
sick. I wish I had a witness in

this place. Dr. Ferdinand said,
They were sick, and because some

were sick, others started
getting sick. If somebody else

has a cold, you'll get a cold.
If somebody else is coughing,

surround myself with sick

thankful people, visionary

folk who don't want to be

sicknesses and their diseases
and illnesses. They like to talk

about what they don't have
instead of using what they do

have. They'd rather wallow
in discouragement, despair, and

distress by indulging in pity
parties. Some people don't want

the responsibility of what goes
along with being healed. Being

sick gives them an excuse to
lie on their back and wait for

somebody else to do it for them.
  For thirty-eight years, this

man lived off the pity of
others. For thirty-eight years,

this man played on the sympathy
of others. For thirty-eight
years, he relied on

the concern of others. If he's
healed, he's going to lose all

of this. If he's healed, he
will have to be responsible for

himself. If he's healed,
he's going to have to work.
