what takes place every
hour in the Middle East.

I'm talking about what
happened to Treyvon Martin,

Freddie Gray, Michael
Brown, Tamir Rice. Murders.

Senseless killings.
Sadly, the frequency of

murder is so rampant
that we have now become

desensitized to the
subject and accustomed

to hearing about
killings on the 6 o'clock news.

suicide every 40 seconds.

in a culture of killing.

has become a
kind of entertainment.

We live in a culture

the midst of all
this activity? And so,

this morning is simply

this: In this
culture of killing, do we

still hear God's

If we're honest
with ourselves, there are

people in this
congregation right now who

are watching this
broadcast, and I know

personally they've
lost a son, they've

lost a daughter, a
grandson, a granddaughter,
00:06:56.51\00:06:58.61
a sister, a brother, a
friend to some senseless

killing. But God
says, Thou shalt not kill.

Now, when this
commandment was written,

when it was given,
it was given to a group

of men and women,
you will remember, who

had recently been
released from slavery,

recently been
emancipated from bondage,

recently been
released from oppression

in Egypt. When they

how. They had rules,

restrictions. But now this group

has been set free,

somebody if they violated

You didn't give life,

interpretation of

It's a dicey situation. It's a

controversial, ethical dilemma.

There are some
people in the Christian

community that
fundamentally stand and

say that
regardless of what happens,

abortions are
absolutely a no-no.

And so what we
see in America are

people lined
up, down the street,

with placards of
their anti-abortion moments.

These are people
who bomb, however,

abortion
clinics, gun down abortion

doctors, blow up buildings,

kill innocent people. They're

anti-killing in the womb,

but pro-killing
outside the womb.

There is somebody who

diagnosis is not good,
