00:00 (Theme Song) Jesus is worthy
00:11 oh yes, he's worthy worthy of all... 00:18 all the praise Pastor Byrd: Whatever animals 00:22 that are in the waters that don't have fins or scales, 00:29 the Bible says they are unclean. 00:31 They are what, everybody? 00:32 Aud.: Unclean. 00:33 PB: They're unclean. 00:34 They're what, everybody? 00:34 Aud.: Unclean. 00:35 PB: They are a scavenger. 00:37 So just like a pig eats up everything off the land, 00:40 a scavenger in the water eats all the waste in the water. 00:45 All right, so tonight I've come to help you. 00:50 Where are my helpers, here? 00:51 Where are my papers. 00:52 Come now, let's pass those out, because everyone wants 00:55 to know what is clean and what is unclean. 00:58 So quickly, let's pass them out and give me one, and I'd 01:01 like to read it too. 01:03 And after you pass them out, I want you to put it on your 01:05 refrigerator at home. 01:08 Come on, say amen. 01:10 Aud.: Amen. 01:11 PB: Put it right next to that flyer of the revival. 01:14 You'll never forget Pastor Byrd. 01:17 Come on now, amen! 01:18 'Cause you want to eat right. 01:22 You want a good dinner tonight, if you haven't 01:25 eaten. 01:26 Come on, say amen. 01:27 You don't want barbecued bat and curried bat and lapwing 01:30 and raven. 01:31 You don't want all that. 01:32 You don't want the pig anymore. 01:34 Come on, say amen. 01:35 You don't want all that, because your body 01:37 is the temple of God. 01:38 Your body is a temple of whom, everybody? 01:40 Aud.: God. 01:41 PB: Your body is a temple of whom, everybody? 01:43 Aud.: God. 01:44 PB: All right. 01:45 God's temple is in your body, and you can't have these 01:47 unclean things in your body, and you recognize your body 01:49 is God's temple, so what goes in your body. 01:51 All right, so you have the sheet, you have the sheet. 01:54 Because remember, the animals on the land, they must be three 01:58 things: They must be part the hoof, clovenfooted, and chew 02:03 the cud. 02:04 If they're in the waters, they must have fins 02:07 and they must have what? 02:08 Scales. 02:09 If fowls creep, going on all fours, they shall be an 02:13 abomination. 02:14 So let's look at what can be eaten. 02:16 Somebody said, oh, thank you, Jesus. 02:18 Because they see the C word right there. 02:20 All right. 02:21 Meats. 02:22 Lamb, that's clean. 02:23 Beef. 02:25 Aud.: Amen. 02:27 PB: Somebody said amen, then someone said thank you, 02:31 Jesus! 02:32 Mutton. 02:34 Veal. 02:35 Goat. 02:36 Somebody said I can still eat my curried goat. 02:40 Venison. 02:44 Chicken. 02:46 Aud.: Amen! 02:49 PB: Lord Jesus! 02:52 [Laughter] PB: Turkey. 02:57 That's not going to mess up your Thanksgiving. 03:01 Fish. 03:02 Perch, snapper, buffalo, carp, sun perch, salmon, 03:05 sardines, tuna, flounder, cod, tilapia, whiting. 03:09 You see the shortenings. 03:10 Now let's look at what can't be eaten because 03:13 it's unclean. 03:14 Let's look at the meats first. 03:16 Pig. 03:17 You know what that is. Coon. 03:22 You know what that is, raccoon. 03:25 Possum. 03:27 Squirrel. 03:28 Aud.: Eww. 03:30 PB: Turtle. 03:32 Horse. 03:33 You ride a horse, you don't eat a horse. 03:40 Rabbit. 03:41 Snake. 03:42 Somebody told me one time, snake tastes like chicken. 03:44 I said, I'll never know. 03:46 [Laughter] PB: Frog. 03:50 Frog legs. 03:52 You all ready for some more? 03:53 Let's go to the fish. 03:55 Catfish, eel, lobster, crab, oysters, shrimp. 04:09 [Laughter] You all love that shrimp, don't you. 04:12 You've got to leave it alone! 04:15 Crayfish. 04:16 Shark. 04:19 Whale. 04:20 Jonah was in the belly of the whale, he didn't 04:22 eat the whale. 04:24 Shortenings. 04:25 You've got to leave alone that hog lard and hog fat 04:28 grease. 04:29 Somebody said, but that's what makes it taste good. 04:31 Eat something else! Drinks. 04:32 You've got to leave the beer alone. 04:36 The whiskey, wine, the gin, even all this caffeine 04:39 drinks. 04:40 They're stimulants. 04:41 You've got to drink water. 04:43 Come on, say amen. 04:45 Drink some water. 04:46 Come on, say amen! 04:48 Now, let me tell you something. 04:50 We chuckle and we laugh, but those who persist in eating 04:55 unclean meats, pig and swine flesh, they're going to burn 05:00 when Jesus comes. 05:01 You don't believe me? 05:02 Take your Bible and go to Isaiah 66. 05:06 I'll give you some Word. 05:07 Know what you believe and know why you believe it, 05:09 and where it's found. 05:10 So I'm not just up here talking. 05:12 Isaiah 66, and we're going to verse number 15. 05:18 I want you to put this sheet on your refrigerator. 05:20 Come one, say amen. 05:21 In fact, we'll make more copies. 05:23 Put it on your refrigerator and put it in your car, 05:25 so when you order carry-out, you'll know not to order 05:27 certain things. 05:28 Amen. 05:29 Isaiah 66, verse 15. 05:32 If you have it, let me hear you say amen. 05:34 Aud.: Amen. 05:35 PB: All right. 05:36 Getting quiet in the church. 05:37 "For, behold, the LORD will come with," what? 05:40 Aud.: Fire. 05:41 PB: "And with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render 05:43 his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. 05:45 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all 05:48 flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be," what? 05:52 Aud.: Many. 05:53 PB: Verse 17, "They that sanctify themselves, 05:56 and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree 05:58 in the midst, eating" what kind of flesh? 06:00 Aud.: Swine's. 06:01 PB: Eating what kind of flesh? 06:03 Aud.: Swine. 06:04 PB: "And the abomination, and the mouse." 06:06 Lord Jesus! 06:07 People eating mice. 06:09 "Shall be consumed together, saith the LORD." 06:18 Pastor Byrd, but what if I pray before I eat it? 06:23 [Laughter] PB: What if I say grace? 06:25 God bless this food. 06:26 You're praying over that food doesn't change the fact that 06:32 that pig is eating everything out there, and you're now 06:34 about eat the pig that has eaten everything. 06:37 But more than that, I'm pretty sure Cain prayed 06:42 over his sacrifice. 06:44 But it wasn't what God asked for. 06:48 God couldn't bless it. 06:50 So I'm praying over this food, but it's not what God 06:52 asked for, it's what God told you to refrain 06:54 and stay away from. 06:55 How can God bless what He's told you not to do? 06:58 Aud.: Amen. 07:00 PB: Pastor Byrd, I've read in the New Testament where Peter 07:07 said that he had a dream, and he saw some animals 07:15 and he was told to rise, kill and eat. 07:19 Let's read about that. 07:20 Go to Acts 10. 07:21 Full disclosure. 07:23 Acts chapter 10, verse number 9. 07:28 Acts chapter 10, verse number 9. 07:30 Acts chapter 10, verse number 9, if you have it 07:33 let me hear you say amen. 07:34 The Word of God says in Acts chapter 10, verse number 9, 07:36 "On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew 07:40 nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop 07:43 to pray about the sixth hour: And he became very hungry, 07:48 and would have eaten: but while they made ready, 07:55 he fell into a trance, and saw heaven opened, and a certain 08:02 vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet 08:05 knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth." 08:08 Verse 12, "Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts 08:10 of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, 08:12 and fowls of the air. 08:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and," 08:19 what, everybody? 08:20 Aud.: Eat. 08:21 PB: Now remember, this is the New Testament. 08:23 "But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten 08:25 any thing that is common or unclean. 08:28 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, 08:32 What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common." 08:38 Verse 16, "This was done thrice [three times]: 08:41 and the vessel was received up again into heaven." 08:44 So, what people try to do is they try to take this text, 08:47 and they try to say well, from this text, Peter saw 08:49 all these different animals. 08:50 Then he heard a voice, Rise, kill, eat. 08:53 And he says, wait a minute, I cannot eat this. 08:55 I cannot kill and eat this, because it's unclean. 08:58 And then he hears a voice that says, What God 09:01 has cleansed, you have no right to call unclean. 09:05 And so people try to take this text and use this text 09:09 as license to eat whatever they want to eat. 09:12 But the thing about reading the Bible, and reading Bible 09:15 texts: you have to make sure you don't take the texts 09:17 and take them out of context. 09:21 What do we mean by that? 09:22 You've got to read the whole chapter. 09:24 Read it all. 09:25 Go to verse 26. 09:27 Same chapter, Acts 10. 09:30 The Word of God says in Acts chapter 10, verse 26, "But 09:33 Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also 09:39 am a man. 09:40 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many 09:45 that were come together." 09:46 Verse 28, "And he said unto them, Ye know how that 09:48 it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep 09:52 company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath 09:56 shewed me that I should not call any," what? 10:00 Aud.: Man. 10:01 PB: Come on, any what? 10:02 Aud.: Man. 10:03 PB: "Common or," what? 10:04 Aud.: Unclean. 10:05 PB: In other words, Peter's saying, look. 10:07 I'm thinking that what I was shown was given 10:09 with animals and food. 10:11 But really, what God was showing me was, I am not 10:14 to call any man common or unclean. 10:17 In other words, what God is saying is, prejudice 10:20 is not a god. 10:21 Racism is not a god. 10:23 Red and yellow, black and white, we are all precious 10:27 in God's sight. 10:28 The blood of Jesus is flowing through all of us. 10:31 Aud.: Amen. 10:32 PB: No man is common or unclean. 10:38 So, repeat after me. 10:39 Say, this is my body. 10:40 Aud.: This is my body. 10:41 PB: God's holy temple. 10:42 Aud.: God's holy temple. 10:43 PB: I've been bought with a price. 10:46 Aud.: I've been bought with a price. 10:48 PB: And I glorify Him. 10:49 Aud.: And I glorify Him. 10:50 PB: Pastor Byrd, I don't know if I can get off pork. 10:52 I don't know if I can get off shrimp. 10:54 "You can do all things through Christ, which 10:59 strengtheneth" you. 11:01 All right, that's what we put in our bodies. 11:06 What about what we let people do to our bodies? 11:12 Something for everybody. 11:14 'Cause you may not have a problem with pork, but you may 11:16 have a problem with what I'm about to talk about now. 11:19 Now, the Bible says in Exodus 20:14, "Thou shalt not commit 11:26 adultery." 11:27 It's getting quiet, now. 11:30 I'm going to call it like it is. 11:34 Fornication, cohabitation. 11:41 You know what cohabitation is. 11:43 That's a nice word for shacking. 11:47 Adultery. 11:49 Have gotten out of control. 11:53 Amen, walls. 11:54 [Laughter] PB: I don't care what church 11:59 you went to 20 years ago, 10 years ago, 50 years ago. 12:05 I don't care what denomination, I don't care what church, 12:07 I don't care if you didn't go to the church. 12:10 If you didn't have the same last name, it was wrong 12:13 if you stayed in the same room. 12:15 [Aud. reaction] PB: If you aren't married, 12:18 man to a woman, woman to a man. 12:23 Come on, say amen. 12:24 Aud.: Amen. 12:25 PB: If you aren't married, you ought not have the same 12:29 bed with somebody else. 12:32 But Pastor Byrd, I'm lonely. 12:35 Well, snuggle up with Jesus. 12:36 I'm lonely, I don't know what to do. 12:42 Go drink some water. 12:43 Come on, say amen. 12:44 [Aud. reaction] PB: I'm by myself. 12:48 I don't know what to do. 12:50 I'm lonely, I need companionship, I need intimacy. 12:54 You go get you a DVD, get you some microwave popcorn, 12:58 watch a nice little thing, what is it, Prince of Egypt 13:02 or something. 13:03 And, you go watch it and you get some popcorn, 13:06 get a blanket and snuggle up with Jesus. 13:08 Come on, say amen. 13:10 [Aud. reaction] PB: Let me tell you 13:13 something. 13:14 It's better to be happily unmarried than to be 13:19 unhappily married. 13:20 I wish I had a witness in this place. 13:22 But this cohabitation and shacking, adultery 13:25 has got to stop. 13:26 Come on, say amen. 13:28 Come on, say amen. 13:29 Aud.: Amen. 13:30 PB: Come on, say amen. 13:31 Aud.: Amen. 13:32 PB: Amen. 13:33 Ladies, stop letting these brothers drive the car before 13:36 they buy the car. 13:37 Come on, say amen. 13:39 Aud.: Amen. 13:40 PB: Too much test driving going on. 13:43 Come on, say amen. 13:44 Aud.: Amen. 13:45 PB: You've got to yield not to temptation. 13:47 For yielding is sin. 13:49 Come on, say amen. 13:50 Aud.: Amen. 13:51 PB: Amen, and brothers and ladies. 13:54 Brothers, stop talking about your wife. 13:56 She's lazy, she's this, she's that. 13:59 Ladies, stop talking about your husbands. 14:02 Stop talking about your man. 14:04 Women stop talking about your husbands. 14:06 You'd better know, because if you're not pitching strikes 14:09 on the mound there's somebody in the bullpen warming up. 14:13 And you've got to understand, these same people that you're 14:16 talking to about your husband, these same people 14:19 you're talking to about your wife, are the same ones 14:21 trying to get your husband. 14:22 [Aud. reaction] PB: Trying to get 14:25 your wife. 14:26 Yeah, I don't like to hear that, but it's the truth anyhow. 14:29 Come on, say This is my body. 14:31 Aud.: This is my body. 14:32 PB: God's holy temple. 14:33 Aud.: God's holy temple. 14:34 PB: I've been bought with a price. 14:36 Aud.: I've been bought with a price. 14:39 PB: And I glorify Him. 14:41 Aud.: And I glorify Him. 14:43 PB: Do you still love me? 14:45 Aud.: Yes! 14:46 PB: I'm going to give you some more. 14:50 What you put in your body, what you let do to your body, 14:52 and then what you put on your body. 14:57 Now, look at Pastor Byrd. 15:00 Don't look around, look at me. 15:05 You'll notice I don't have anything around my neck, 15:11 I don't have anything in my ears. 15:15 Why? 15:16 I'm God's temple. 15:20 I believe. 15:21 Listen to me carefully. 15:23 I believe that when people look at me on the outside, 15:30 they should know that there's something going on, 15:35 on the inside. 15:36 The fact that I'm a child of God should be evident, 15:41 I believe, not only when I talk but also when I walk. 15:48 When you see me, when you're looking at me, there ought 15:53 to be a difference in modesty and adornment with a child 15:57 of God. 15:58 Jesus says in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine 16:04 before men that they may see your good works and glorify 16:08 your Father, which is in heaven." 16:11 You're not here to glorify yourself with costly 16:15 array in jewels. 16:17 You are here to glorify God. 16:19 [Aud. reaction] PB: I just have a belief. 16:26 We're going to talk about this more on Friday. 16:30 In Revelation, a woman is depicted as the church. 16:35 A church, I should say, is depicted as a woman. 16:39 In Revelation 12. 16:40 there is a depiction of a woman, and this woman represents 16:47 God's true church. 16:50 In Revelation 17, there is a depiction of another woman, 16:54 and this woman with costly array in jewels depicts 17:02 the false church. 17:03 If I'm trying to represent God's true church, 17:08 should not my outward emulate and reflect God's true church? 17:18 It's not about me, but it's all about Him. 17:28 I am here to glorify God. 17:34 Now there are some people that don't like that, 17:36 and there are some people that got mad with me about that. 17:39 But you know what? 17:40 I'm here to call it like it is. 17:44 To cry aloud and spare not. 17:49 But the thing I have trouble with, is when people point 17:51 the fingers and look down on other people. 17:54 Because the reality, friends of mine, is that we're all 17:57 in the hospital. 17:58 Somebody's on a sick toe floor. 18:01 Somebody's on a sick heart floor. 18:04 Somebody is on a pneumonia floor. 18:07 Somebody is on a cancer floor. 18:09 Somebody is on a diabetes floor. 18:12 We are all in a hospital, and we all need Dr. Jesus 18:15 to heal us. 18:17 Aud.: Amen. 18:18 PB: So somebody may have a challenge with the Sabbath. 18:22 Jesus can heal them. 18:24 Somebody may have a challenge with pig. 18:27 Jesus can heal them. 18:29 Somebody may have a challenge with that 40-ounce. 18:32 But Jesus can heal them. 18:36 Somebody may have a challenge with costly array in jewels. 18:39 But Jesus can heal them. 18:43 Somebody may have a challenge with cigarette smoking 18:45 or harmful illicit drugs. 18:47 But Jesus can heal them. 18:51 Somebody may have a gossip problem. 18:54 But Jesus can heal them. 18:57 Somebody may have a fornication problem, 19:00 but Jesus can heal them. 19:03 I'm a witness tonight. 19:05 All of us are sick. 19:06 All of us have sinned. 19:08 All of us have come short of the glory of God. 19:11 The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal 19:18 life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 19:25 Dr. Jesus can heal it. 19:30 Whatever you're dealing with, He can heal it. 19:34 You're a chosen generation of royal priesthood. 19:39 God has called you out of darkness into 19:41 His marvelous light. 19:43 At the end of the day, our beauty shall reside 19:46 not in outward adornment but on what's on the inside. 19:50 But we have to ask ourselves, what would Jesus do? 19:54 If we're following Jesus, we're always safe. 19:58 Jesus is our example. 20:00 I can't see Jesus eating everything. 20:02 I can't see Jesus drinking everything. 20:05 I can't see Jesus wearing everything. 20:08 We must understand, it takes our everything to serve 20:13 the Lord. 20:14 Some want a crown, but they don't want to bear a cross. 20:18 But it takes everything to serve the Lord. 20:23 Some want to be seen, but they don't want to live 20:27 clean. 20:29 But it takes everything to serve the Lord. 20:36 "Whether therefore ye eat or drink or whatsoever ye do, 20:45 do all to the glory of God." 20:50 This is my body, God's holy temple. 21:01 I've been bought with a price. 21:06 And I glorify Him. 21:11 I cannot live any old way, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, 21:14 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and then come on 21:17 God's Sabbath, the seventh-day Saturday, and sow my wild 21:21 oats during the week and pray for a crop failure 21:23 on Sabbath. 21:24 [Aud. reaction] PB: But every day 21:28 you see me, you should be able to know 21:32 that's a child of God. 21:34 The greatest sermon ever preached, my friends, is not 21:36 the one that's preached from this pulpit. 21:40 The greatest sermon that's ever preached is the one 21:42 that is lived. 21:44 They will know we are Christians by our love for God 21:53 and our love for one another. 22:00 Tonight I love God. 22:03 And I know sometimes it's hard. 22:05 Sometimes it's difficult, sometimes it's new. 22:10 Pastor Byrd, you're talking about lifestyle changes. 22:12 I'm sold out for Jesus. 22:19 Whatever He wants me to do, I've got to do. 22:21 I'm sold out for Jesus. 22:25 It amazes me, it trips me out. 22:27 We can be sold out, we can be in love with folk we have 22:30 never seen. 22:32 Only what we see on the Internet, only what we see 22:34 on TV, and we respect them and we give them 22:36 all this homage. 22:37 But how much more the One, 2,000 years ago, who went 22:41 to die for you. 22:42 He went to die for me. 22:46 And I love Him so much, because He first loved me. 22:56 Now, I can decide as a Christian to follow God all the way, 23:00 or I can say I'm going to do what I want to do 23:02 and I just hope that God, He'll wink at my ignorance 23:06 or He'll wink at my behavior. 23:07 And we always have this saying, He knows my heart. 23:09 And the reality is, yes He does. 23:15 He knows if we really love Him with all of our hearts. 23:22 Tonight, I hope you do. 23:27 Because if there is anything in your life. 23:30 Anything. 23:31 Anything in your life that's hindering you in your walk 23:35 with Christ, your prayer ought to be Lord, 23:37 take it away. 23:38 Take it away! 23:43 God, I want to be a fit vessel for You. 23:45 Take it away. 23:46 And I know, I know it's not popular. 23:55 I know we can get people to come in and sing, guest 24:01 artist, church packed full of people. 24:03 But He's coming back for a church, He's coming back 24:08 for a people without spot or wrinkle. 24:11 The Bible is clear, friends of mine. 24:15 The Bible is clear that as it was in the days of Noah, 24:19 in Matthew 24. 24:20 So shall it also be in the coming of the Son of Man. 24:23 Which means, as it was in Noah's day, just before 24:26 Jesus' coming it's going to be the same way. 24:28 People doing whatever they want to do. 24:30 Marrying, giving in marriage. 24:31 Drinking, living any old kind of way. 24:33 That's how it was in Noah's day, before the Lord had 24:35 to destroy this earth by flood. 24:37 That's just how it's going to be right before 24:39 Jesus' second coming. 24:40 So you know, really I'm encouraged. 24:45 Because the reality is, I recognize when we opened this 24:50 revival, when we preach that Jesus thing, 24:52 everybody feeling good. 24:53 Place is packed, people jumping up, shouting 24:55 and everything, doing all that kind of stuff. 24:57 But then when you start preaching that Word, when you 25:01 start preaching what's not popular, people begin 25:05 to scatter. 25:06 But you know what? 25:07 I'm encouraged, 'cause Noah preached 120 years and the only 25:10 people that got in the boat were himself, his wife, 25:14 their three sons and their three wives. 25:17 The reality is, for all of that preaching, he could have 25:21 just had family worship and they could have gotten 25:23 in the boat. 25:24 But the fact that you're still here, God's Spirit 25:31 is still striving with you. 25:35 The fact that you're still here lets me know you really 25:37 do love God. 25:38 And you really want to be ready when He comes. 25:44 Praise be to God! 25:47 PB: Thank you very much for tuning in and watching 25:50 Breath of Life today. 25:51 We do hope that you were blessed by our ministry and that we 25:55 gave a healing word in a hurting world. 26:00 In order for Breath of Life to continue in ministry 26:02 we need you. 26:03 We need your prayers, we need your support. 26:06 We want you to know that any and all donations, 26:08 small or great, they are sincerely 26:11 welcomed and appreciated. 26:13 To contact us or to make your donations, please feel free 26:16 to give us a call at 877-BOL-OFFER. 26:22 That's 877-BOL-OFFER. 26:28 Or, you may write to us at Breath of Life, P.O.
