00:22 Pastor Byrd: My date is my Sabbath with my seal.
00:24 It's a holy convocation.
00:27 Which means the people of God come together to worship God.
00:31 You come looking your best.
00:34 Understand that your best and my best may be different,
00:37 but we come in our best.
00:38 I'm trying to understand folk talking about I'm coming
00:40 to the Lord just as I am.
00:42 Well, he's the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
00:45 I just feel if you were going to see Barack Obama
00:48 you would come with your best.
00:50 So if you're going to see the one who died and hung
00:52 and bled for you, you ought to come in your best.
00:58 My attentions are on him, not on everything else
01:02 that is going on.
01:03 Not speaking my own words, doing my own pleasure,
01:05 because I'm dealing with the best.
01:08 I'm dealing with the Lord, because it's his Sabbath
01:13 and I have a date with him.
01:15 But he goes on in his Word.
01:16 Go to Isaiah 66. He tells me, he says listen, this thing,
01:22 my Sabbath, my seal, is not just for the here
01:26 and now.
01:27 But he says in the Word of God in Isaiah 66, verse 22:
01:31 "For as the new heavens and the new earth,
01:35 which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord,
01:38 so shall yr seed and your name remain."
01:41 He says: "And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon
01:43 to another, and from one sabbath to another,
01:45 shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord."
01:51 Now, you can think Pastor Byrd has lost his mind up here
01:53 preaching, but it's the truth anyhow.
01:55 It may not be popular, but you can't be popular and prophetic
01:58 at the same time.
01:59 You've got to call it like it is.
02:02 I keep saying and I'll say it again, it's too much
02:04 cotton candy preaching.
02:06 Sweet on the outside and hollow and empty on the inside.
02:09 You've got to call it like it is, what thus saith the Lord.
02:22 Don't want a pat this preach, preach, preach,
02:23 they ain't said nothing.
02:27 You better preach what thus saith the Lord.
02:30 When the world is on fire, I want what's thus saith
02:33 the Lord.
02:34 If I'm trying to get to the kingdom, I want
02:38 what doth saith the Lord.
02:41 Don't sugar coat me with Jesus.
02:44 On this earth, in the earth to come, God says
02:49 my Sabbath will be observed and all flesh will come
02:53 together to worship me, saith the Lord.
02:55 So we find there are seven days.
02:57 How many days, everybody?
02:58 (Aud: Seven) In a week.
03:00 God created this earth in six literal days, but on the seventh
03:02 day he rested, he blessed it, and he sanctified it.
03:05 God then said, remember the seventh-day Sabbath
03:07 to keep it holy, because it's my seal.
03:09 My name.
03:10 I am the Lord thy God.
03:11 My title, I am Creator.
03:13 My territory, the heaven anearth, the seas
03:15 and all that in them is.
03:16 God said that my Sabbath is to be a sign between me
03:19 and my people forever.
03:20 God then said, you know what else?
03:23 Not only is it to be a sign between me and my people,
03:25 but it's to be a holy convocation.
03:27 A holy time for the people of God, because they love me,
03:30 they come and they worship me.
03:31 And then God said, listen, you're not supposed to do your
03:34 own thing, speak your own words, find your own pleasure,
03:38 but understand that the Sabbath is me and God time.
03:42 It is a date between me and God.
03:44 Because God says, earth is preparation place
03:47 for paradise and we're going to keep the Sabbath on earth
03:49 and when we get to the new heavens and new earth.
03:53 So that's clear.
03:56 That's straight from the Bible.
04:04 Do you mean to tell me that this is what the Word says?
04:07 Oh, but no, Pastor Byrd.
04:10 God must have changed his Word.
04:15 It can't just be this crystal clear and everybody's doing
04:19 their own thing about God's Sabbath.
04:21 God must have changed his Word.
04:25 Go to Malachi 3:6.
04:27 God must have changed his Word.
04:30 God had to change the Sabbath.
04:34 Go to Malachi 3:6.
04:37 If you have it let me hear you say Amen.
04:43 Well, the Word of God says where I'm reading,
04:45 Malachi 3:6, he says, "For I am the Lord, I change"
04:50 what, everybody?
04:51 "Not." So stop there.
04:53 That means God didn't change anything. And then why would
04:57 God change something when God told us to remember
04:59 in the first place?
05:00 So God says, I didn't change anything.
05:06 So if God the Father didn't change, surely
05:11 in the New Testament, God the Son, Jesus the Christ,
05:15 must have changed it.
05:17 Well, let's go to Matthew 5:17.
05:25 The Word of God, Jesus himself speaking, did Jesus change
05:28 anything?
05:29 Jesus said, no, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law,
05:32 or the prophets: I am not come to destroy,
05:34 but to" what?
05:35 "Fulfill.
05:36 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass,
05:38 one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass
05:40 from the law, till all be" what, everybody?
05:43 (Aud: Fulfilled) "Whosoever therefore shall break one
05:45 of these least commandments, and shall teach men so,
05:47 he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:
05:49 but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same
05:51 shall be called" what, everybody?
05:53 Great.
05:55 So Jesus said, I don't change anything.
05:57 I came to fulfill it.
05:59 Well, what do you mean you came to fulfill it?
06:01 Jesus said, I came to fulfill it, because I came
06:03 to live it myself.
06:04 Well, what do you mean you came to live it yourself, Jesus?
06:06 Well, Jesus said, you know, when I was on his earth
06:09 I kept the Sabbath, too.
06:10 I observed the Sabbath as being God's seal.
06:13 What do you mean, Jesus?
06:14 He said, well, turn with me to the book of Luke,
06:16 Chapter 4. Jesus says, I didn't change anything,
06:23 I fulfilled it. I lived it.
06:24 Luke 4:16.
06:30 Know what you believe, why you believe it,
06:32 and where it's found.
06:33 The Word of God says: "And he came to"
06:35 where?
06:36 "Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his"
06:38 what was?
06:39 As his what was?
06:40 (Aud: Custom) He went into the what?
06:42 Synagogue, which was the church, on the what day?
06:45 (Aud: Sabbath) "And stood up for to read.
06:47 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esias.
06:49 And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was
06:51 written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath
06:54 anointed me to preach the" what to the poor?
06:57 (Aud: Gospel) "He hath sent me to heal the broken" what?
06:59 (Aud: Hearted) "To preach deliverance to the captives,
07:01 and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty
07:03 them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year
07:05 of the Lord.
07:06 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister,
07:08 and sat down.
07:09 And the eyes of all them there were in the synagogue were
07:12 fastened on him." Jesus said, I didn't come to destroy
07:14 or change anything.
07:15 I came to fulfill it.
07:16 It was my custom to go to church on the seventh-day Sabbath
07:19 and preach the gospel.
07:20 And in this instance he did just that.
07:23 And then when he finished preaching, he sat down and gave
07:25 the book to the host preacher and to the host preacher,
07:29 you can take it from here, I said it.
07:33 Okay, so God didn't change it.
07:37 Jesus the Christ didn't change God's Sabbath, God's seal.
07:43 So it must have been changed after Jesus' death.
07:50 The apostles much have changed the Sabbath, because,
07:53 Pastor Byrd, it's just too clear.
07:56 You read it from the Old Testament, we've gotten it
07:58 from the New Testament and the gospel.
08:00 It has to be that God's Sabbath was changed.
08:02 God's seal had to be changed after Jesus' death because
08:06 it just doesn't make sense why everyone doesn't understand
08:08 the seventh day is God's Sabbath,
08:13 God's seal, because it's clear in the Bible, so it had
08:22 to change after Jesus' death.
08:25 Go to Acts 13:42.
08:29 Getting quiet in here.
08:31 Acts 13:42, the Word of God says: "And when the Jews
08:38 were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought
08:42 that these words might be preached to them the next"
08:44 what?
08:45 Sabbath.
08:46 "Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews
08:48 and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas:
08:50 who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue
08:52 in the grace of" whom, everybody?
08:54 (Aud: God) "And the next sabbath day." The next what, everybody?
08:57 "Came almost the whole city together to hear the word of"
09:00 whom, everybody?
09:01 (Aud: God) Three things we learn from this text.
09:03 Number one, we clearly learn after Jesus' death the Sabbath
09:06 was still kept.
09:08 That's clear.
09:09 After Jesus' death the Sabbath was still kept.
09:11 Paul and Barnabas were after Jesus' death.
09:13 Are you hearing what I'm saying?
09:15 Number two, even under grace.
09:20 When we in grace we don't have to keep God's laws, that means
09:24 we can go shoot and kill some people because you're under
09:28 grace?
09:29 We're under grace, we don't--no, no, no.
09:31 They were still persuaded to continue in the grace of God
09:34 and still observe God's Sabbath.
09:37 Number three, the Sabbath is not just for Jews.
09:40 The Sabbath is for Jews and the Sabbath is for Gentiles
09:46 because the Sabbath is for everybody.
09:50 Jesus died for everybody.
09:52 Now, let's expand our minds.
09:55 Let's say that somebody comes up to you or maybe you, your own
09:58 self, erroneously had believed prior to tonight that, well,
10:04 the Sabbath was changed
10:09 because Jesus died and there was no more need
10:14 for the Sabbath.
10:17 Or the Sabbath was changed because Jesus rose on another
10:20 day other than the Sabbath.
10:22 So because of that, you know, we don't have to deal with
10:24 that Sabbath thing.
10:25 That's not binding.
10:26 Now, I don't understand that logic when you can say, keep all
10:30 the other ten commandments, don't lie, don't kill,
10:32 don't steal, don't commit adultery,
10:34 don't do all that, but you don't have to observe the Sabbath.
10:37 Well, let's expand or minds.
10:40 The reason why that's a weak argument to say that the Sabbath
10:47 was done away with at the cross is because the Sabbath
10:52 was instituted before man had even sinned.
10:59 In Genesis 1, creation.
11:04 Are you hearing me?
11:05 In Genesis 1, creation.
11:09 In Genesis 2, the institution of the Sabbath.
11:15 In Genesis 3, the fall of man or the first sin,
11:21 when Adam and Eve ate of the fruit when God told
11:23 them don't do it.
11:24 Creation, Genesis 1, the Sabbath instituted in Genesis 2,
11:29 in Genesis 3, the fall of man.
11:32 The Sabbath was in place before the fall of man.
11:37 The reason Jesus had to go to Calvary is because of the fall
11:43 of man, because man sinned, Jesus had to go to Calvary.
11:49 If man had never sinned, there would have been no need
11:52 for Jesus to go to Calvary.
11:54 Beloved, there is no other name under which we can be saved
11:59 but the name of Jesus.
12:01 Through Jesus' shed blood we have forgiveness of sin.
12:05 Jesus, yes, died for my sins.
12:07 Jesus, yes, rose, but that had nothing to do with changing
12:15 the Sabbath because the Sabbath was in place before man
12:21 had already sinned.
12:24 Hebrews 4.
12:25 I'm working my way down to the end.
12:30 Hebrews 4:4, "For he spake in a
12:42 certain place of the seventh day on this wise, and God did rest
12:46 the seventh day from all his works.
12:49 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
12:51 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein,
12:54 and they to whom it was first preached entered not in
12:57 because of unbelief."
13:02 Now, I'm reading straight from the Word tonight. It may
13:04 be different, but I'm reading from the Word.
13:07 They entered not in because of unbelief.
13:12 Verse 7: "Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David,
13:14 Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will
13:17 hear his" what?
13:18 (Aud: Voice) Harden not your what?
13:20 (Aud: Hearts) "For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he
13:23 not afterward have spoken of another day.
13:25 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God." If God
13:35 had changed his day, if God had changed the Sabbath, if he had
13:39 given another day of rest, don't you think he would have
13:41 told us?
13:44 All right, Pastor Byrd.
13:45 It's clear.
13:49 You were right Saturday night.
13:51 You were right Sunday night.
13:53 That Satan is a deceiver.
13:55 That Satan is a liar.
13:58 Pastor Byrd, you were right.
14:00 He's a liar and there's no truth in him.
14:05 And this whole thing boils down to who are we going to give
14:09 our worship to?
14:10 And if I'm going to worship God, yeah, I clap my hands when
14:14 the praise team sings.
14:16 Yes, I'll clap my hands when committed sings.
14:19 But they that worship God must worship God
14:23 in spirit and in truth.
14:30 All right, Pastor Byrd, you're clear.
14:32 The Word of God is clear.
14:33 So, Pastor, if the seventh day is the Sabbath, the seventh day
14:38 is God's seal, the Sabbath was in place before man sinned,
14:46 so we recognize that even though man sinned and Jesus
14:48 had to go to Calvary, the Sabbath was in place
14:50 before man sinned.
14:53 So that couldn't be nullified at the cross, the Sabbath,
14:55 because it was already in place.
14:59 So, Pastor Byrd, how do we know which day is the Sabbath?
15:10 How do we know which day is the Sabbath?
15:17 Somebody wants the Bible to say remember Saturday
15:22 to keep it holy.
15:24 Remember this day to keep it holy.
15:27 Can we be real?
15:29 The rule of common sense.
15:31 The Bible does not say, and I say this all the time, the Bible
15:34 does not say thou shalt not smoke crack.
15:36 But the Bible does say
15:45 that your body and my body, our bodies,
15:47 are God's temples.
15:49 And so the Bible gives us principles by which we live.
15:52 Let's be clear on that.
15:56 How do we know which day?
15:58 All right.
15:59 I told you we were going to work our way down to the end.
16:02 Go to Revelation 1:10.
16:15 The Word of God says, John himself speaking,
16:19 I, John, "was in the Spirit on the Lord's day,
16:27 and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet."
16:35 Now notice, the text does not say anything about
16:40 what number day John was in the Spirit, the text just
16:44 says that I, John, was in the Spirit on
16:48 the Lord's day.
16:50 Because a lot of people try to tell you this text as license
16:53 to keep whatever day they want as the Sabbath.
16:56 John says he was in the Spirit on the Lord's day.
16:59 It does not say which day was the Lord's day.
17:01 It just says John was in the Spirit on the Lord's day.
17:05 Now go back to Mark 2:27-28.
17:13 The Word of God says, stay with me,
17:22 "He said unto them, The sabbath was made for"
17:27 what?
17:28 Man, and not man for the what?
17:30 (Aud: Sabbath) Therefore the Son of man is also Lord of the what?
17:34 (Aud: Sabbath) Now, if Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath
17:38 and the Sabbath day, then is it not logical
17:42 to deduce that the Sabbath is the Lord's day?
17:47 If he's Lord of the Sabbath day, why then wouldn't the Sabbath
17:50 be his day?
17:53 Now, if we go to a dictionary, Saturday is defined
17:56 as the seventh day of the week.
17:59 Any dictionary that has not been tainted.
18:02 I wish I had a witness in this place.
18:05 Saturday is the seventh day.
18:06 That's what the dictionary says.
18:09 If you talk to someone who speaks Spanish,
18:11 Sabado is the root word for Saturday, Sabado
18:16 from the root word Sabaoth, meaning the Sabbath.
18:21 If you talk to any Orthodox Jew, they will tell you that Saturday
18:26 is the Sabbath.
18:28 But remember you all, our rule is not to go to the dictionary,
18:33 our rule is not to go to another man, our rule
18:37 it go to the Word of God.
18:39 Which day then is the Sabbath?
18:42 Go to Luke 23:50.
19:07 "And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor;
19:12 and he was a good man, and a just:
19:14 (The same had no consented to the counsel and deed
19:17 of them;) he was of Arimathaea,
19:19 a city of the Jews: who also himself waited
19:21 for the kingdom of God.
19:22 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
19:25 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linens, and laid it in
19:27 a sepulcher that was hewn in stone, wherein never man
19:30 before was laid.
19:31 And that day was the" what, everybody?
19:33 That day was the what, everybody?
19:35 (Aud: Preparation) "And the sabbath drew on."
19:37 So they took his body down from the cross
19:40 on the preparation day.
19:41 Good Friday.
19:45 The sixth day of the week.
19:46 Are you hearing what I'm saying?
19:48 Took his body down from the cross.
19:50 That day, verse 54, was the preparation,
19:52 and the sabbath drew on.
19:54 Which means, the Sabbath came after Good Friday,
19:56 the preparation day.
19:58 The women also, verse 55, "which came with him
20:00 and beheld the sepulcher, ter, and how his body was laid.
20:03 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments: and rested
20:07 the" what day?
20:08 Come on, rested the what day?
20:11 (Aud: Sabbath) "According to the" what?
20:13 (Aud: Commandment) On day seven, Saturday, the Sabbath, Jesus'
20:17 body laid resting in the grave, Jesus was obedient
20:20 to God's commandment even in death.
20:22 Luke 24:1.
20:26 "Now upon the first day of the week, very early
20:33 in the morning, they came unto the sepulcher,
20:35 bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others
20:37 with them.
20:38 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher.
20:40 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
20:42 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout,
20:46 behold." How many men, everybody?
20:48 "Two men stood by them in shining garments:
20:50 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces
20:52 to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek
20:54 ye the living among the dead?
20:56 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you
20:58 when he was yet in Galilee, saying, The Son of man must be
21:00 delivered into the hands of sinful men,
21:02 and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
21:04 And they remembered his words."
21:06 Which means, friends of mine, what day is the Sabbath?
21:10 The Bible is clear.
21:12 Good Friday, the sixth day, preparation day, Jesus died
21:16 on Calvary.
21:17 His body was taken down from the cross.
21:19 On the seventh day, Sabbath, Saturday, his body lay
21:24 resting in the grave.
21:26 On the first day of the week, early Sunday morning,
21:30 Christianity says today, Easter Sunday morning,
21:34 Jesus rose.
21:35 Because after day seven you've got to go back
21:38 to day number one.
21:39 Are you hearing what I'm saying?
21:40 The Bible is clear that the seventh day, Saturday,
21:44 is the Sabbath.
21:45 Which means, because it's a holy convocation, I find myself in
21:52 God's church on God's Sabbath, lifting the name of Jesus.
21:57 Yes, I may have come this night.
22:00 Yes, I may have come that night.
22:02 But on God's seventh day Sabbath, a day of rest,
22:10 evening unto evening.
22:14 Well, Pastor Byrd, man, this is tough.
22:17 Pastor Byrd, this is hard.
22:22 I'm telling you because I love you, and God told me to tell you
22:27 this because he loves you.
22:30 And if you love God you will keep his commandments.
22:42 Now we're righteous in the sight of God, but as filthy rags.
22:47 In and of myself I cannot save myself.
22:52 Yes, I keep God's Sabbath, but in and of myself
22:55 I cannot save myself.
22:57 I told you, just as the woman says,
23:00 I go to Sabbath every week, I go to Sabbath, yeah, yeah,
23:04 yeah.
23:05 The devil goes to church, too.
23:11 But I keep God's Sabbath.
23:13 I observe God's Sabbath because I love me some Jesus.
23:18 And Jesus says, if you love me, keep my commandments,
23:21 but not only that, we've got to learn,
23:23 friends of mine, if we're serious about loving Jesus,
23:25 we've got to love Jesus the way Jesus wants us to love him.
23:32 We don't love Jesus the way we want to love Jesus.
23:34 I love Jesus.
23:35 Well, love him the way he wants to be loved.
23:38 Our wives want us to love them the way they want to be loved.
23:42 Husbands want their wives to love them the way
23:44 they want to be loved.
23:46 You've got to love the Lord the way the Lord wants
23:48 to be loved, not the way you want
23:50 to be loved.
23:51 Well, Pastor Byrd, it's just a day.
23:55 God is a God of specifics.
23:58 Pastor Byrd, it's just a day, and if Adam and Eve were
24:02 here they would say it was just fruit.
24:12 It looked good.
24:15 It tasted good.
24:18 But God says, it's not what I wanted.
24:21 I told you don't eat of the tree of good and evil in the middle
24:24 of the garden.
24:25 Don't do it.
24:26 If you do it you shall what, everybody?
24:28 Die.
24:29 God is a god of specifics.
24:30 You don't believe me, ask Cain.
24:36 Well, Cain gave God his best.
24:38 It could have been his best fruits, best grains
24:40 and vegetables, but God said,
24:42 I need a sacrifice.
24:44 And God said, I can't accept a sacrifice without
24:46 the shedding of blood.
24:47 So, yes, Abel brought a sacrifice.
24:52 Cain brought a sacrifice and it was Cain's best, but God didn't
24:56 accept it because it was not what God asked for.
25:05 I'm giving God my worship.
25:10 I'm giving God my praise.
25:12 But is it the worship and praise
25:21 that God asked for.
25:22 Go to Matthew 7, verse 21.
25:34 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into
25:46 the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father
25:52 which is in heaven.
25:53 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
25:56 prophesied in thy name?
25:57 and in they name have cast out devils?
25:59 And in thy name done many wonderful works?"
26:01 God, I sang in the praise team.
26:03 God, I sang in the choir.
26:04 God, I ushered.
26:05 God, I sold fish dinner.
26:06 But did you do my will?
26:12 Verse 23: "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew
26:15 you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Last text,
26:22 give me just a little time tonight.
26:26 Mark, Chapter 7.
26:31 Trying to give you the Word.
26:32 Know what you believe, know why you believe it, and know
26:34 where it's found.
26:36 Mark 7, last text, verse 6.
26:41 "He answered and said until them, Well hath Esaias
26:48 prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people
26:53 honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
27:01 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines
27:08 the commandments of men.
27:10 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition
27:14 of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many
27:17 other such like things ye do.
27:19 And he said unto them, Full well
27:24 ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep
27:33 your own tradition."
27:43 But if you love me, keep my commandments.
