00:11 ♪ oh yes, he's worthy ♪ ♪ worthy of all... ♪ 00:18 ♪ all the praise... ♪ (Music) 00:21 Pastor Byrd: Take your Bibles, and let's shake it and shake 00:23 the devil out of this room. 00:23 Repeating after me say, every promise in this book 00:26 is mine. 00:27 Come on, say it like you mean it. 00:29 Every promise in this book is mine. 00:33 Every chapter, every verse, every line. 00:36 I am saved by his grace divine. 00:43 Every promise in this book is mine. 00:47 We pray. 00:48 Father in heaven, Lord, tonight come by here. 00:51 Somebody needs you. 00:53 Come by here. 00:55 Somebody is looking and needing a blessing. 00:58 God, come by here, O Lord. 01:01 Come by here. 01:02 And, God, speak to us tonight through your Word. 01:05 When we leave this place we will be able to say it was good 01:07 to have been here. 01:09 Hide me behind your cross, forgive me of my sins, and may 01:13 your anointing flow and make the difference 01:15 in Jesus' name we pray. 01:16 Let everyone say Amen, and Amen. 01:21 We began talking on Saturday night about how Jesus Christ, 01:25 it was prophesied when he would come to this earth. 01:28 We then went on and talked about how it was prophesied not only 01:32 when he would come to this earth, 01:34 but when he would be baptized, and when he would be crucified. 01:38 We then went on Sunday night and from the Word of God 01:40 we found from Daniel and the Revelation about 01:44 this image right here and the different elements 01:47 of this image and the metals and we talked about 01:52 the countries that represent this image. 01:54 And we talked about how that stone would come, 01:57 stone made without hands, stone representing God. 02:01 When God would knock this image down and knock down all these 02:04 kingdoms and set up his own kingdom. 02:07 And so tonight we pick up and we talk now about how Jesus 02:13 will come and what Revelation says about what will 02:17 take place on this earth after he comes. 02:21 So, let's begin. 02:22 Let's go to the book of Acts. 02:23 What book did I say, everyone? 02:24 Now, we've talked already about the signs 02:26 of Jesus' coming. 02:27 We recognize there'll be wars and rumors of war. 02:31 There will be earthquakes. 02:32 There will be pestilences. 02:34 All in different places. 02:36 But the Bible says, be not too troubled 02:38 because recognize the Lord is coming back and when he 02:42 comes back he's going to put an end to all of this. 02:45 Come on, say Amen. 02:46 Now the Word of God says in Acts, Chapter 1. 02:50 We recognize, we need to know how will Jesus come. 02:53 The Word of God says in Acts, Chapter 1:9. 02:56 If you have it let me hear you say Amen. 02:58 The Word says: "And when he had spoken these things, while they 03:02 beheld, he was taken" where? 03:05 Come on, he was taken where? 03:06 (Aud: Up) "And a cloud received him." What received him? 03:08 A cloud. 03:09 Out of their what, everybody? 03:12 (Aud: Sight) "And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven 03:16 as he went up, behold," how many men? 03:19 "Two men stood by them in white" what? 03:21 (Aud: Apparel) "Which also said, Ye Men of Galilee, why stand 03:24 ye gazing up into heaven? 03:25 This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, 03:29 shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go 03:34 into heaven." 03:35 The first thing we need to understand about 03:37 Jesus' coming is when Jesus Christ comes back 03:40 the second time his feet will not touch this earth. 03:43 Now, there are a lot of people out there who want to say, oh, 03:47 well, Jesus, when he comes back he's going to touch this earth. 03:50 We even have imposters out there who are saying that they are the 03:54 Christ and they're walking up and down the earth. 03:57 We know that's a lie, as I like to say, 03:59 from the pits of hell, because the Bible is clear that 04:03 when Jesus comes back he's going to come back in the air. 04:06 He's going to come back in the what, everybody? 04:09 He is going to come back in the air, because the Bible 04:11 says he left in the air, which means he will return 04:15 in the air. 04:16 Jesus' feet will never touch this earth. 04:20 And they will never touch this earth, because this earth 04:24 is infested with sin. 04:25 And Jesus cannot touch this earth until this earth 04:30 is cleaned up. 04:31 Are you hearing what I'm saying? 04:32 So, Jesus left in a cloud, the Bible says that 04:37 this same Jesus will do what, everybody? 04:40 Return in a cloud. 04:42 But not only that. 04:43 We want to throw out another myth that's out there. 04:46 Go with me to the book of Revelation. 04:48 What book, everybody? 04:49 And we're going to Chapter 1:7. 04:56 The Bible is clear that when Jesus returns his feet 05:01 will not touch this earth. 05:03 He left this earth in a cloud, he will return to this earth 05:06 in a cloud. 05:07 But the Bible also says in Revelation 1:7, "Behold, 05:13 he cometh with" what, everybody? 05:15 Again, no contradiction. 05:17 Acts 1 says he's coming in clouds. 05:21 Revelation 1 says he's coming with clouds. 05:24 And every what? 05:25 Come on, every what? 05:27 Every eye shall see him. 05:28 Now let's stop there. 05:29 That means Jesus is coming, it will not be secret. 05:34 That means there will not be a secret rapture when 05:38 Jesus comes. 05:39 A lot of people try to say, well, this group is going to see 05:41 him and this group is not going to see him. 05:44 Let us be clear. 05:45 The Bible says that when Jesus Christ comes back 05:47 the second time, that everyone, which means those in Huntsville 05:51 are going to see him, as well as those in Atlanta 05:53 are going to see him. 05:55 Those in Atlanta are going to see him and those 05:57 in New York are going to see him. 05:59 Those in New York are going to see him and those 06:01 in Los Angeles are going to see him. 06:03 Those in Los Angeles are going to see him and those in Asia 06:05 are going to see him. 06:06 But not only the folk in Asia, but those in Africa are going 06:09 to see him. 06:10 But not only the ones in Africa, but those in the Caribbean 06:13 are going to see him. 06:14 The reality is we're all going to see him and all 06:17 at the same time. 06:19 Every what, everybody? 06:21 (Aud: Eye) Come on, every what? 06:22 (Aud: Eye) So if someone tells you that when Jesus comes back 06:26 only a select group will see him, that's a lie. 06:30 The Word of God. 06:31 Know what you believe, know why you believe it, 06:34 and know where it's found. 06:36 The Bible is clear that Jesus left in a what? 06:38 Cloud. 06:40 And the Bible says that he will return in a what? 06:43 Cloud. 06:44 The Bible is clear that when Jesus comes the second time 06:47 every living what? 06:49 Come on, every living what? 06:51 Every living eye is going to see him. 06:54 Now, let's go a little deeper. 06:57 When Jesus comes the second time, the Bible is clear 07:02 that there will be primarily four groups of people. 07:16 Let's read about group number one. 07:18 Take your Bible and go to 1 Thessalonians. 07:20 What book did I say? 07:21 Come on. 07:22 First Thessalonians. 07:23 Stay with me. 07:24 First Thessalonians, Chapter 4 and we're going to verse 16. 07:34 Now remember, we read from the Word of God 07:36 that Jesus left in a cloud when he left the first time 07:39 and he's coming back in a cloud when he comes 07:41 the second time. 07:42 We read from the Word of God that when Jesus Christ comes 07:44 back every eye is going to see him. 07:47 Now we're reading where there are four primary 07:50 groups of people that will be present when Jesus Christ 07:54 comes back the second time. 07:56 The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians, Chapter 4, 07:59 verse 16. 08:00 Your Bible should say: "For the Lord himself shall 08:04 descend from heaven with a" what, everybody? 08:06 Come on, from heaven with a what? 08:08 (Aud: Shout) "And with the voice of the" what? 08:10 (Aud: Archangel) And the trump of whom? 08:12 (Aud: God) And the dead in Christ shall rise what, 08:15 everybody? 08:16 (Aud: First) So the Bible is clear that when Jesus Christ 08:19 comes back the second time, group number one would be 08:22 the righteous dead. 08:24 And in the group number one, the righteous dead, 08:27 the Bible is clear that the righteous dead 08:29 will rise what? 08:30 (Aud: First) Come on, the righteous dead 08:32 will rise what, everybody? 08:33 (Aud: First) All right. 08:34 Repetition deepens the impression. 08:36 I teach it then I'm going to preach it. 08:38 Let me teach it for you quickly. 08:39 Jesus left in a cloud. 08:40 He's coming back in a cloud. 08:42 The Bible is clear that when he comes every living what? 08:45 Eye is going to what? 08:46 See him. 08:47 The Bible is also clear that at Jesus' second coming 08:50 there are how many primary groups of people? 08:52 (Aud: Four) Group number one are the righteous what? 08:55 (Aud: Dead) And they rise what? 08:56 (Aud: First) All right, you're hot tonight. 08:58 Group number two. 08:59 First Thessalonians, Chapter 4, verse 17. 09:03 The Bible says: "Then we which are" what? 09:07 (Aud: Alive) And remain shall be what, everybody? 09:10 Caught up together with them in the what? 09:12 (Aud: Clouds) To meet the Lord in the what? 09:14 (Aud: Air) And so shall we ever be with the what, everybody? 09:17 (Aud: Lord) Now this verse breaks down a lot for me. 09:19 Number one, it says the righteous living. 09:21 The righteous what, everybody? 09:23 (Aud: Living) Are caught up to meet the Lord in the what? 09:25 (Aud: Air) Which goes on to point the fact that 09:28 the Bible never contradicts itself. 09:30 Acts 1 said Jesus left in a cloud, he's returning 09:34 in a what, everybody? 09:35 (Aud: Cloud) The Bible also says in Revelation, Chapter 1:7, 09:38 he cometh with clouds and every living what? 09:41 Eye shall see him. 09:42 Which makes sense. 09:43 Jesus' feet will never touch this earth, because the dead 09:47 in Christ, group number one, they rise what? 09:50 (Aud: First) Group number two, the righteous living are caught 09:54 up to meet the Lord in the what? 09:57 (Aud: Air) Get some more. 09:59 Group number three. 10:00 Go to 2 Thessalonians. 10:01 What book did I say, everybody? 10:04 And we're going to Chapter 2 and we're going to verse 8 10:22 The Word of God says to us tonight: "And then shall 10:25 that Wicked" be what, everybody? 10:27 (Aud: Revealed) Whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit 10:30 of his what? 10:31 (Aud: Mouth) And shall destroy with the brightness of his what? 10:34 (Aud: Coming) "Even him, whose coming is after the working 10:36 of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10:39 and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them 10:41 that perish; because they received 10:43 not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 10:46 And for this cause God shall send them strong" what, 10:48 everybody? 10:49 (Aud: Delusion) That they should believe a what? 10:51 (Aud: Lie) That they all might be damned who believed not 10:54 the truth, but had pleasure in what, everybody? 10:56 (Aud: Unrighteousness) All right. 10:58 Let's be clear. 10:59 Group number three are the unrighteous 11:01 or the wicked living. 11:03 The Bible says in verse 8 that they shall be destroyed 11:07 by the brightness of his what? 11:09 (Aud: Coming) They'll be destroyed by the brightness 11:11 of his coming. 11:12 So those persons that are wicked, those persons that are 11:14 unrighteous, those persons that are alive when Jesus Christ 11:18 comes, the Bible says that they will die at the brightness 11:22 of Christ coming. 11:23 And so I tell you all the time, sometimes I have to practice 11:25 and look into the light to make sure 11:27 I can see it then. 11:30 Because if I can't look at this light how can 11:36 I look at the light of God when he comes back 11:38 the second time? 11:39 So, group number one, the righteous dead rise what? 11:42 Come on, the righteous dead rise what? 11:45 (Aud: First) Group number two, the righteous living are caught 11:47 up to meet the Lord in the? 11:48 (Aud: Air) Group number three are the wicked living and they 11:50 die at the brightness of his what? 11:52 (Aud: Coming) Now there's one more group. 11:54 Revelation, Chapter 20, verse 5. 11:57 We're now dealing with the wicked dead. 11:59 We're dealing with the wicked what, everybody? 12:02 Come on, we're dealing with the wicked what, 12:04 everybody? 12:05 We're dealing now with the wicked dead. 12:07 Now, remember as you're turning to Revelation 20:5. 12:09 Know what you believe, know why you believe it, 12:13 and know where it's found. 12:15 As you read the Word of God, you have read already tonight 12:18 that when Jesus comes back he will come back in the clouds 12:21 because he left in the clouds. 12:23 You have already read from the Word of God that when Jesus 12:26 comes back every living eye is going to see him. 12:29 You have already read from the Word of God 12:31 that the righteous dead rise what? 12:34 First. 12:35 Then the righteous living are caught up to meet the Lord 12:37 in the what? 12:38 (Aud: Air) Then we read where the wicked living die 12:40 at the brightness of his what? 12:41 (Aud: Coming) And then now, what happens to group number four, 12:43 the wicked dead? 12:45 The Bible says in Revelation 20:5, 12:48 if you have it let me hear you say Amen. 12:50 The Word says: But the rest of the what? 12:52 (Aud: Dead) Live not again until the thousand years 12:55 were what? 12:56 (Aud: Finished) This is the what resurrection? 12:58 (Aud: First) Which suggests to me that there's going 13:00 to be more than one resurrection. 13:02 Because if there were just one resurrection the Bible 13:04 would have just said, this is the resurrection. 13:07 But the Bible says, this is the first resurrection, 13:10 which points to the fact that there must be 13:12 more than one. 13:13 The Bible says, but the rest of the dead live not until 13:17 the thousand years were what? 13:18 (Aud: Finished) So then the wicked dead remain what? 13:21 (Aud: Dead) Come on, the wicked dead remain what? 13:24 (Aud: Dead) Now, at Jesus' second coming there are how many 13:26 primary groups of people? 13:28 Four? 13:29 How many primary groups at Jesus' second coming? 13:31 (Aud: Four) That means when Jesus comes back, we're looking 13:33 forward to his coming. 13:34 Can you say Amen? 13:35 There are four primary groups of people. 13:39 The righteous dead rise what? 13:41 (Aud: First) The righteous living are caught up to meet 13:43 the Lord in the? 13:44 (Aud: Air) The wicked living die at the brightness of his what? 13:48 (Aud: Coming) The wicked dead remain what? 13:50 (Aud: Dead) Now, you just said and you just read that at Jesus' 14:00 second coming the righteous dead rise first. 14:05 You just said that. 14:07 You just said that the righteous living are caught up to meet 14:11 the Lord in the air. 14:14 Now, we hear all the time from people that when a person 14:18 dies they go straight to heaven. 14:23 They're in a better place. 14:26 They've gone to be with the Lord. 14:29 That's what we hear all the time. 14:31 Momma's looking down on me. 14:33 Daddy's looking down on me. 14:34 They're in a better place. 14:35 But the reality is, if the righteous 14:37 at their death already went to heaven at their death, 14:42 who would Jesus be coming back for at the second coming? 14:49 We just read that the Bible says that the righteous dead 14:53 rise what? 14:54 (Aud: First) We just read where the Word of God says 14:56 the righteous living are caught up to meet the Lord 15:01 in the what? 15:02 (Aud: Air) If the righteous' were already in heaven now, 15:09 who would Jesus be coming back to get? 15:21 There would be no need for him to come back and get 15:23 the righteous because the righteous would already 15:25 be in where? 15:26 Heaven. 15:29 Know what you believe, know why you believe it, 15:33 and know where it's found. 15:39 So then Pastor Byrd, if the righteous dead 15:42 aren't already in heaven, if they must rise first, 15:48 what happens to an individual when they die? 15:54 Let's get the Word. 15:56 Go to Genesis, Chapter 2. 15:58 Now, you ain't going to get this everywhere. 16:01 Come on, say Amen. 16:02 We got to teach you, then we preach you. 16:04 God's people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. 16:08 We shout and we don't know what we're shouting about. 16:10 Genesis 2:7. 16:16 If your Bible is like my Bible, your Bible says in Genesis 2:7: 16:20 "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the what? 16:25 (Aud: Ground) And breathed into his nostrils 16:28 the breath of what, everybody? 16:30 (Aud: Life) And then man became a living what? 16:33 (Aud: Soul) So we discover that there are two primary 16:36 elements in order for one to be a living soul. 16:39 Dust of the ground, breath of life, and man became 16:44 a living what, everybody? 16:46 (Aud: Soul) Now, what happens to a man or woman when they die? 16:51 Go to Ecclesiastes, Chapter 12, verse 7. 17:00 Let's get some Word tonight. 17:09 Ecclesiastes 12:7, the Word of God says: 17:15 Then shall the dust return to the what? 17:18 (Aud: Earth) As it was: and the spirit 17:21 shall return unto whom? 17:22 (Aud: God) Who gave it. 17:23 So we discover, Genesis 2:7 says dust of the ground, 17:29 breath of life, man became a living what? 17:32 Come on. 17:33 Dust of the ground, breath of life, man became 17:36 a living what? 17:37 (Aud: Soul) When a person dies their body returns to what? 17:40 (Aud: Dust) Their spirit returns to whom? 17:44 (Aud: God) And the soul ceases to exist. 17:48 Pastor Byrd, though, how do we know the spirit and the breath 17:52 of life are the same thing? 17:56 The Bible is clear that the body shall return to dust. 17:58 The Bible says the spirit shall return to God, but you read 18:01 in Genesis 2:7 that God breathed into 18:03 man's nostrils the breath of life and man became 18:05 a living soul. 18:06 How do we know that the spirit and the breath of life are one 18:10 and the same? 18:11 Take your Bible and go to the book of Job. 18:17 Job, Chapter 27, verse 3. 18:20 Know what you believe, know why you believe it, and know 18:22 where it's found. 18:23 Job 27:3, if you have it let me hear you say Amen. 18:33 The Word of God says: All the while my breath is in whom, 18:40 everybody? 18:41 (Aud: Me) And the spirit of God is in my what? 18:43 (Aud: Nostrils) We read in Genesis 2:7 18:46 that the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, 18:48 breathed into his nostrils the breath of what? 18:51 (Aud: Life) And man became a living what? 18:53 (Aud: Soul) We read when a person dies 18:55 the body returns to what? 18:56 (Aud: Dust) The spirit returns to whom? 18:59 (Aud: God) The soul ceases to exist. 19:01 How do we know the spirit and the breath 19:03 are one and the same? 19:04 Because the Bible says all the while my breath 19:07 is in me and the spirit of God is in my nostrils. 19:12 So that makes sense then. 19:16 It may sound comforting. 19:20 You may have heard someone say it before. 19:22 But the Bible is clear that when an individual dies their body 19:28 returns to dust and the spirit returns to God, because 19:32 at Jesus' second coming the righteous dead 19:36 will rise first, the righteous living will be 19:40 caught up to meet the Lord in the what? 19:43 Air. 19:44 All right. 19:45 So let's review. 19:48 Number one, when Jesus comes back, he left in a cloud, 19:50 he will return in a what? 19:52 Cloud. 19:54 Number two, when Jesus comes back, the Bible is clear, 19:57 that every living what? 19:59 Eye is going to what? 20:00 See him. 20:02 The Bible is clear that when Jesus comes back there are four 20:04 primary groups of people, the righteous dead rise what? 20:07 First. 20:08 The righteous living are caught up to meet the Lord in the what? 20:11 Air. 20:12 The wicked living die at the brightness of his what? 20:14 (Aud: Coming) And the wicked dead remain what? 20:16 (Aud: Dead) If the righteous were already in heaven when 20:19 Jesus came back the second time, who would Jesus be coming back 20:22 to get? 20:27 God formed man of the dust of the what? 20:30 Ground. 20:31 Breathed into his nostrils the breath of what? 20:33 Life. 20:34 Man then became a living what? 20:35 Soul. 20:36 When an individual dies the body returns to what? 20:38 Dust. 20:39 The spirit returns to? 20:40 God. 20:41 And the souls ceases to exist. 20:44 Now, Christ's second coming also signals the beginning of a 20:49 period know as the millennium. 20:51 Everybody say millennium. 20:53 This is one thousand years. 20:54 Take your Bible and go with me back to the book of Revelation. 20:57 Go to Revelation, Chapter 20. 20:59 We're going to spend some time here. 21:02 Put a little bookmark there in Revelation 20. 21:11 Christ's second coming signals the beginning of the millennium 21:13 or the one thousand year period and this period begins 21:17 with the resurrection. 21:18 It is what we call the resurrection 21:20 of the righteous. 21:21 The Bible says in Revelation 20:5. 21:24 If you have let me hear you say Amen. 21:26 "But the rest of the dead live not again until the thousand 21:28 years were" what, everybody? 21:29 (Aud: Finished) This is the what resurrection? 21:32 Come on, this is the what resurrection? 21:34 (Aud: First) Blessed and holy is he that hath part 21:36 in the first resurrection: on such the second death 21:39 hath no what? 21:40 (Aud: Power) But they shall be priests of God and of Christ, 21:43 and shall reign with him or how long, everybody? 21:45 (Aud: A thousand years) So then, it's a good thing to be 21:49 resurrected in the first resurrection. 21:53 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection 21:57 because on that individual the second death hath no power. 22:00 Are we clear, everybody? 22:03 All right, so in that first resurrection after the second 22:06 coming of Christ, that is a resurrection 22:09 of the righteous. 22:11 Blessed and holy is the individual 22:13 in that resurrection. 22:15 So, Jesus comes the second time, there is a first resurrection 22:22 and this is a resurrection of the righteous. 22:25 A resurrection of the what, everybody? 22:27 Now, the one thousand years also ends with a resurrection. 22:34 Keep your Bible bookmark at Revelation 20. 22:36 Go to John, Chapter 5. 22:38 And we're going to verse 28. 22:44 John 5:28. 22:45 The Word of God says: "Marvel not at this: for the hour 22:54 is coming, in the which all that are in the graves 22:57 shall hear his" what, everybody? 22:59 Voice. 23:00 "And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto 23:02 the resurrection of" what, everybody? 23:04 Life. 23:05 "And they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of" what? 23:07 Damnation. 23:08 So we know there are two resurrections. 23:10 One is the resurrection of life and the other is the 23:14 resurrection of damnation. 23:16 But the Bible is also clear that all that are in the grave, 23:20 they will hear the voice of Jesus. 23:22 Which then suggests to you and to me that Jesus 23:25 is the life giver. 23:26 Satan does not have resurrection power. 23:31 Are we clear, everybody? 23:32 The Bible says that all that are in the grave 23:35 shall hear his voice. 23:37 They that have done good unto the resurrection of life. 23:40 Those that have done evil unto the resurrection 23:42 of damnation. 23:43 So we're very clear that at the beginning 23:46 of the thousand years there's a resurrection. 23:48 This resurrection is the first resurrection and takes place 23:52 at the second coming of Jesus. 23:54 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection. 23:57 The rest of the dead live not again until the thousand years 24:01 were finished. 24:02 There is a resurrection at the end of 24:04 the thousand years, but this is not a good one. 24:12 The period between the resurrections 24:16 is the millennium of one thousand years. 24:18 Now, what happens during this time? 24:20 Go to the book of Jeremiah. 24:21 We'll get some more Word. 24:26 Jeremiah, Chapter 4. 24:28 The Word of God says in Jeremiah, Chapter 4, verse 23. 24:34 Stay with me. 24:37 The Word says: "I beheld the earth, and, lo, 24:44 it was without form, and" what? 24:47 Void. 24:48 "And the heavens, and they had no light. 24:50 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills 24:52 moved lightly. 24:53 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds 24:55 of the heavens were fled. 24:57 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all 25:03 the cities thereof were broken down at the presence 25:05 of the Lord, and by his fierce anger." 25:07 Verse 28: "For this, shall the earth mourn, 25:09 and the heavens above be black: because I have spoke it, 25:11 I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither 25:13 will I turn back from it." 25:16 Which means, during the one thousand year 25:19 period the earth will be without form and void, 25:22 it will be dark, it will be blackness, 25:24 there will be no life. 25:28 Why?
