? (Theme Song) ? ? Jesus is worthy ? 00:00:04.66\00:00:10.23 ? oh yes, he's worthy ? ? worthy of all... ? 00:00:10.23\00:00:17.70 ? all the praise... ? The Pharisees and the scribes 00:00:17.70\00:00:23.43 are grumbling and saying to one another, 00:00:23.43\00:00:26.86 this man welcomes sinners and eats with them. 00:00:26.86\00:00:30.16 Because you see, the Pharisees had strict 00:00:30.16\00:00:34.03 regulations about how they would keep away from sinners. 00:00:34.03\00:00:38.56 They were not to entrust money to them or have business 00:00:38.56\00:00:41.46 dealings with them. 00:00:41.46\00:00:42.96 They were not to trust them with a secret. 00:00:42.96\00:00:45.96 They were not to give their daughter away in marriage 00:00:45.96\00:00:48.96 to any of their sons. 00:00:48.96\00:00:50.70 They were not to invite them as guests or be their guests. 00:00:50.70\00:00:53.86 But Jesus eats with them, openly fellowships with them, 00:00:53.86\00:01:00.06 and Jesus receives them. 00:01:00.06\00:01:03.83 Notice in the text that the Pharisees do not 00:01:03.83\00:01:12.33 openly confront Jesus. 00:01:12.33\00:01:15.16 They talk behind his back. 00:01:15.16\00:01:20.13 Interestingly, that they would do this 00:01:20.13\00:01:22.93 because in other scenarios, like Jesus healing 00:01:22.93\00:01:25.73 on the Sabbath day, if they felt Jesus 00:01:25.73\00:01:28.66 was directly disobeying one of their traditions, 00:01:28.66\00:01:31.03 they would try to openly call him out on it. 00:01:31.03\00:01:34.13 But when he was just doing things they didn't like, 00:01:34.13\00:01:38.56 rather than speak directly to him they grumbled among 00:01:38.56\00:01:44.83 themselves behind his back. 00:01:44.83\00:01:48.10 Let me tell you something, people like that are dangerous. 00:01:48.10\00:01:51.46 Say what you want to say, but one of the toughest things 00:01:51.46\00:01:56.30 in life is to deal with folk that smile in your face, 00:01:56.30\00:02:01.23 but are constantly stabbing you in your back. 00:02:01.23\00:02:04.46 Do I have a witness in this place? 00:02:04.46\00:02:07.70 It's not always the folk on the outside that you 00:02:07.70\00:02:11.73 have to worry about, but it's the phoney, 00:02:11.73\00:02:14.96 pretentious folk on the inside that you have to be 00:02:14.96\00:02:19.00 careful with. 00:02:19.00\00:02:20.00 You all don't hear what I'm saying. 00:02:20.00\00:02:22.63 I've never heard a drunk person talk about another 00:02:22.63\00:02:26.40 drunk person. 00:02:26.40\00:02:27.40 Their attitude is, I'm drunk, 00:02:27.40\00:02:36.30 you're drunk, so we just all drunk. 00:02:36.30\00:02:39.93 Are you hearing what I'm saying? 00:02:39.93\00:02:41.93 Verse 1 of the Bible says, then drew near unto him all 00:02:41.93\00:02:48.60 the publicans and sinners, all the publicans and whom, 00:02:48.60\00:02:51.03 everybody? 00:02:51.03\00:02:52.03 Sinners to him. 00:02:52.03\00:02:53.63 Now, the verb in this text, 00:02:53.63\00:02:56.93 drew near, is imperfect in nature. 00:02:56.93\00:03:01.50 Meaning it is repeated acts. 00:03:01.50\00:03:04.70 In other words, the tax collectors 00:03:04.70\00:03:07.76 and the sinners were continuously 00:03:07.76\00:03:10.43 coming to Jesus. 00:03:10.43\00:03:12.10 So regardless of how much the Pharisees 00:03:12.10\00:03:15.20 and scribes tried to stop it, the people kept coming 00:03:15.20\00:03:19.63 to Jesus. 00:03:19.63\00:03:20.63 Let that be a lesson for somebody today. 00:03:20.63\00:03:24.06 Folk can stop a lot of things but folk can't stop 00:03:24.06\00:03:28.96 the move of God. 00:03:28.96\00:03:30.66 Folk can't stop the move of the Holy Ghost. 00:03:30.66\00:03:34.66 They can't stop the move of Jesus. 00:03:34.66\00:03:37.86 God will do what he wants, when he wants, 00:03:37.86\00:03:42.06 where he wants, how he wants and he doesn't 00:03:42.06\00:03:45.43 have to ask you or me for permission 00:03:45.43\00:03:48.53 to do what he wants. 00:03:48.53\00:03:50.06 The Bible says that all the publicans 00:03:50.06\00:03:55.20 and sinners came to hear Jesus while the Pharisees 00:03:55.20\00:04:00.43 and scribes murmured against Jesus for receiving and eating 00:04:00.43\00:04:05.73 with sinners. 00:04:05.73\00:04:06.93 While Jesus didn't approve of their actions, 00:04:06.93\00:04:11.06 the Bible teaches that Jesus did receive them socially 00:04:11.06\00:04:16.20 and ate with them for the purpose of bringing 00:04:16.20\00:04:18.66 them to repentance and salvation. 00:04:18.66\00:04:21.96 Ellen White clearly says in "My Life Today, 00:04:21.96\00:04:24.63 she says that Jesus was social to save. 00:04:24.63\00:04:32.40 Yes, she says, 00:04:32.40\00:04:35.06 Jesus rebuked intemperance, self-indulgence and folly, 00:04:35.06\00:04:40.50 yet she says he was social in his nature. 00:04:40.50\00:04:44.26 He accepted invitations to dine with the learned 00:04:44.26\00:04:49.16 and the noble as well as the poor and afflicted. 00:04:49.16\00:04:52.56 She says, social power sanctified by the Spirit 00:04:52.56\00:04:57.83 of Christ must be improved in bringing souls to 00:04:57.83\00:05:02.63 Jesus Christ. 00:05:02.63\00:05:05.43 But our problem is, too often we're so isolated 00:05:05.43\00:05:08.50 and insulated, we don't want to minister 00:05:08.50\00:05:11.76 to anybody but ourselves. 00:05:11.76\00:05:14.13 We sing what we want, we teach what we want, 00:05:14.13\00:05:18.70 we preach what we want and we don't care 00:05:18.70\00:05:21.60 about the people down the street 00:05:21.60\00:05:23.60 from our churches. 00:05:23.60\00:05:24.60 Are you hearing what I'm saying? 00:05:24.60\00:05:26.60 We're incestual 00:05:26.60\00:05:28.60 and the fruit of incest is always something retarded. 00:05:31.80\00:05:36.33 And we have retarded ministries and churches 00:05:36.33\00:05:40.20 because we care more about ministering 00:05:40.20\00:05:43.53 to ourselves than ministering to the one on 00:05:43.53\00:05:47.93 the street corner. 00:05:47.93\00:05:49.60 I wish I had a witness in this place. 00:05:49.60\00:05:54.76 But Ellen White says, Christ's method alone 00:05:54.76\00:05:57.83 will give true success to reaching people. 00:05:57.83\00:06:01.40 The Savior mingled with them as one who desired their good. 00:06:01.40\00:06:06.93 He showed sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, 00:06:06.93\00:06:11.60 won their confidence and then he bade them, 00:06:11.60\00:06:16.60 "Follow me." 00:06:16.60\00:06:17.60 Jesus was social to save. 00:06:17.60\00:06:20.00 But the scribes and the Pharisees 00:06:20.00\00:06:23.26 thought they were too righteous to associate 00:06:23.26\00:06:27.10 with sinners, too "boojey" to hang 00:06:27.10\00:06:29.56 with the broke. 00:06:29.56\00:06:31.20 But let me tell you something, don't you ever think that you 00:06:31.20\00:06:33.93 are better than somebody else. 00:06:33.93\00:06:36.66 Don't you ever think that you are more righteous 00:06:36.66\00:06:39.93 than somebody else. 00:06:39.93\00:06:41.53 Apart from Christ, you and I are just as lost 00:06:41.53\00:06:44.40 as those tax collectors and sinners of Israel, 00:06:44.40\00:06:50.93 just as lost as that man drinking Jack Daniels, 00:06:50.93\00:06:55.20 just as lost as that drug dealer 00:06:55.20\00:06:58.06 on that corner. 00:06:58.06\00:06:58.96 Just as lost as that liar, that fornicator, 00:06:58.96\00:07:02.20 that adulterer, that gossiper, 00:07:02.20\00:07:04.30 that stealer, that cheater, 00:07:04.30\00:07:06.20 that deceiver, that mess-maker, 00:07:06.20\00:07:08.30 all have sinned, come short of the glory 00:07:08.30\00:07:14.03 of God. 00:07:14.03\00:07:14.83 If it weren't for the blood of Jesus, 00:07:14.83\00:07:18.16 I would be lost. 00:07:18.16\00:07:22.86 The ground is level at the cross. 00:07:22.86\00:07:25.76 So before I go any further, I rebuke every foul, 00:07:25.76\00:07:30.23 pretentious, pompous, 00:07:30.23\00:07:33.50 conceited, Satanic superior spirit 00:07:33.50\00:07:38.30 in this place. 00:07:38.30\00:07:39.50 The devil is alive. 00:07:39.50\00:07:43.93 In this first parable, Jesus uses the metaphor 00:07:43.93\00:07:50.43 of one sheep being lost from the fold of 100. 00:07:50.43\00:07:53.73 He says, 99. 00:07:53.73\00:07:55.73 Everybody say 99. 00:07:55.73\00:07:56.36 Just won't do. 00:07:56.36\00:07:58.93 Why did he use this metaphor to illustrate the importance 00:07:58.93\00:08:02.66 of saving the lost? 00:08:02.66\00:08:04.56 Number one, he uses this metaphor 00:08:04.56\00:08:07.36 of the lost sheep because sheep aren't 00:08:07.36\00:08:10.66 the smartest animals in the world. 00:08:10.66\00:08:13.50 As a result they are constantly getting into 00:08:13.50\00:08:17.26 terrible situations. 00:08:17.26\00:08:18.50 Let me tell you something. 00:08:18.50\00:08:19.66 Sometimes we are not the smartest people 00:08:19.66\00:08:24.23 in the world and we find ourselves getting into 00:08:24.23\00:08:29.23 some terrible situations. 00:08:29.23\00:08:31.36 We make bad decisions, make bad choices, 00:08:31.36\00:08:36.20 say bad things and while we deserve death, 00:08:36.20\00:08:40.00 while we deserve gloom, while we deserve destruction, 00:08:40.00\00:08:44.73 I'm so grateful that God blocks it, 00:08:44.73\00:08:47.33 and God won't let us fall. 00:08:47.33\00:08:49.43 Hallelujah, somebody. 00:08:49.43\00:08:51.10 The angels of the Lord encampeth round about them 00:08:51.10\00:08:55.40 that fear him. 00:08:55.40\00:08:56.96 Number two, sheep are defenseless. 00:08:56.96\00:09:01.86 Lions have teeth, bears have claws, 00:09:01.86\00:09:08.60 snakes have fangs, cheetahs have speed, 00:09:08.60\00:09:14.20 rams have horns, porcupines have quills, 00:09:14.20\00:09:19.93 dogs have a bark and skunks have a scent. 00:09:19.93\00:09:26.83 But not sheep. 00:09:26.83\00:09:30.10 They have absolutely no means of protecting themselves 00:09:30.10\00:09:35.76 from danger. 00:09:35.76\00:09:36.83 If a sheep is attacked, the sheep is helpless. 00:09:36.83\00:09:41.40 We're the same way. 00:09:41.40\00:09:43.36 There is no way we can protect ourselves against 00:09:43.36\00:09:47.56 the attack of Satan. 00:09:47.56\00:09:49.70 We need someone else to protect us, 00:09:49.70\00:09:53.60 someone else to defend us, someone else to guard us, 00:09:53.60\00:09:59.30 someone else to shield us, someone else to shelter us, 00:09:59.30\00:10:03.20 someone else to safeguard us and that someone is Jesus. 00:10:03.20\00:10:08.56 Jesus be a fence all around me every day. 00:10:08.56\00:10:13.36 Put on the layers of the whole armor of God that he may be 00:10:13.36\00:10:20.83 able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 00:10:20.83\00:10:25.63 The Lord is my rock. 00:10:25.63\00:10:28.30 In him we hide. 00:10:28.30\00:10:30.36 A shelter in the time of storm. 00:10:30.36\00:10:33.16 Number three, sheep need direction. 00:10:33.16\00:10:35.16 If a sheep wanders from the rest of the flock 00:10:35.16\00:10:43.46 it will have a hard time, if not impossible time, 00:10:43.46\00:10:47.26 finding its way back. 00:10:47.26\00:10:49.33 Sheep have no sense of direction. 00:10:49.33\00:10:53.76 Sheep are not like horses or dogs 00:10:53.76\00:10:59.13 who can find their way back home. 00:10:59.13\00:11:04.13 Sheep could never find their way home on their own. 00:11:04.13\00:11:08.40 So it is with those who wander from the Lord. 00:11:08.40\00:11:13.63 There is simply no sense of spiritual direction 00:11:13.63\00:11:17.80 in their life. 00:11:17.80\00:11:19.36 They cannot find their way to the Lord by themselves, 00:11:19.36\00:11:24.60 but they need a shepherd. 00:11:24.60\00:11:27.20 But then, number four. 00:11:27.20\00:11:29.26 Sheep are not responsible for getting themselves home. 00:11:29.26\00:11:33.73 The sheep is powerless to find its way back to the flock. 00:11:33.73\00:11:38.96 If the shepherd waited for the sheep 00:11:38.96\00:11:42.00 to return to its own, then it would die 00:11:42.00\00:11:45.93 in the wilderness. 00:11:45.93\00:11:47.23 So instead of waiting, the shepherd goes after 00:11:47.23\00:11:50.73 the sheep, because getting the sheep back 00:11:50.73\00:11:53.76 home is the responsibility of the shepherd. 00:11:53.76\00:11:56.83 The lost sheep was not able to find its way back home. 00:11:56.83\00:12:02.10 Everything depended on the searching 00:12:02.10\00:12:04.30 of the shepherd. 00:12:04.30\00:12:05.60 The shepherd feels bad about losing the sheep and will 00:12:05.60\00:12:09.96 search until he finds it. 00:12:09.96\00:12:12.13 It is his responsibility. 00:12:12.13\00:12:13.86 No trouble, no sacrifice, 00:12:13.86\00:12:15.86 no suffering is too great to find the lost sheep and bring 00:12:15.86\00:12:20.83 it back. 00:12:20.83\00:12:21.83 Ninety-nine won't do. 00:12:21.83\00:12:23.03 You've got to get 100. 00:12:23.03\00:12:25.20 Somebody's going to get this in a minute.- The same is true 00:12:25.20\00:12:30.36 with salvation. 00:12:30.36\00:12:31.36 Lost sheep do not find Jesus. 00:12:31.36\00:12:34.43 They are not able. 00:12:34.43\00:12:36.70 Everything depends on Jesus who is seeking the sheep. 00:12:36.70\00:12:41.13 Lost people do not make the first move to Jesus. 00:12:41.13\00:12:44.23 It's the Good Shepherd that makes the first move 00:12:44.23\00:12:47.03 towards lost sheep. 00:12:47.03\00:12:48.03 He comes looking for us. 00:12:48.03\00:12:50.23 He finds us. 00:12:50.23\00:12:51.76 That's why Jesus said, my sheep hear my voice 00:12:51.76\00:12:56.46 and they follow me. 00:12:56.46\00:12:58.53 And what I love about the Lord is that the Lord will search 00:12:58.53\00:13:04.10 for us, wherever we are, 00:13:04.10\00:13:07.93 until he finds us. 00:13:07.93\00:13:09.76 The Lord doesn't give up, thank you, 00:13:09.76\00:13:12.66 Jesus, after a few minutes, 00:13:12.66\00:13:14.66 after a few months or even after a few years of searching. 00:13:14.66\00:13:18.83 But Jesus stays on the job until the lost sheep is found. 00:13:18.83\00:13:23.50 That's why he's not the God of a second chance. 00:13:23.50\00:13:27.50 I hear folk say all the time, he's the God 00:13:27.50\00:13:29.70 of a second chance. 00:13:29.70\00:13:30.63 No, no, 00:13:30.63\00:13:32.63 no. 00:13:32.63\00:13:33.63 He's not just the God of a second chance, 00:13:33.63\00:13:35.63 but he's the God of a chance after chance after chance, 00:13:35.63\00:13:39.53 after chance, after chance. 00:13:39.53\00:13:42.56 And I don't know about you, but I'm so glad today that 00:13:42.56\00:13:46.13 Jesus didn't give up on me. 00:13:46.13\00:13:48.70 I'm glad that Jesus keeps coming for me. 00:13:48.70\00:13:51.96 I'm glad that he keeps looking, 00:13:51.96\00:13:54.20 he keeps calling, he keeps knocking, 00:13:54.20\00:13:56.43 he keeps waiting for me. 00:13:56.43\00:13:58.00 Is there anybody in this place who's happy that you serve 00:13:58.00\00:14:02.50 a God that keeps coming back for you? 00:14:02.50\00:14:06.40 And then, after the sheep is saved, 00:14:10.23\00:14:14.13 the sheep finds itself resting on the shoulders 00:14:14.13\00:14:22.26 of the shepherd. 00:14:22.26\00:14:23.33 Hallelujah, somebody. 00:14:23.33\00:14:25.33 Let me break this down because somebody's still 00:14:25.33\00:14:27.33 not getting it. 00:14:27.33\00:14:28.33 Look at verse 5 again. 00:14:28.33\00:14:29.70 Luke 15:5: And when he has found it, 00:14:29.70\00:14:35.80 when he has found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, 00:14:35.80\00:14:40.70 rejoicing. 00:14:40.70\00:14:42.03 Oh, you all still don't get it. 00:14:42.03\00:14:44.03 Let me break this down. 00:14:44.03\00:14:45.16 When Jesus speaks of the shepherd 00:14:45.16\00:14:47.86 gently laying the sheep on his shoulders in this text, 00:14:47.86\00:14:51.33 what is meant by this is that back in the day when the sheep 00:14:51.33\00:14:56.26 would wander from the fold and the shepherd would find it, 00:14:56.26\00:15:01.26 the shepherd would actually break the legs of the sheep 00:15:01.26\00:15:05.16 and then he would carry the sheep on his 00:15:05.16\00:15:08.50 shoulders until the legs would heal. 00:15:08.50\00:15:11.00 Now, this sounds cruel, 00:15:11.00\00:15:13.00 but it actually wasn't, for when a shepherd 00:15:13.00\00:15:15.20 would do this, he was actually taking full 00:15:15.20\00:15:18.16 responsibility for the needs of the sheep. 00:15:18.16\00:15:20.76 He would now have to take care of the sheep, 00:15:20.76\00:15:24.50 feeding it, watering it and other 00:15:24.50\00:15:26.73 necessities because the sheep couldn't care for itself. 00:15:26.73\00:15:29.70 Breaking the sheep's legs, maybe somebody got it, 00:15:29.70\00:15:32.60 breaking the sheep's legs may seem cruel to us, 00:15:32.60\00:15:36.26 but it actually the shepherd protecting the sheep from 00:15:36.26\00:15:39.96 its tendency to stray because he knows the dangers 00:15:39.96\00:15:43.86 of the wilderness. 00:15:43.86\00:15:45.26 And once, help me, 00:15:45.26\00:15:47.56 Holy Ghost, once the sheep's legs 00:15:47.56\00:15:50.26 would heal, the sheep has now learned 00:15:50.26\00:15:53.53 how to stay close to the shepherd 00:15:53.53\00:15:58.60 so that he will never stray again. 00:15:58.60\00:16:02.80 Sometimes, when we stray, 00:16:02.80\00:16:06.13 sometimes when we're lost and God finds us, 00:16:06.13\00:16:12.70 God has to break our legs, God has to put us down 00:16:12.70\00:16:19.60 on our backs, God has to allow us to go 00:16:19.60\00:16:23.50 through affliction even after he's found us to get us to 00:16:23.50\00:16:27.90 learn that we have to solely depend on him. 00:16:27.90\00:16:31.43 You all don't hear what I'm saying. 00:16:31.43\00:16:34.23 God knows the dangers of the wilderness. 00:16:34.23\00:16:37.23 So he has to break us in order to carry us. 00:16:37.23\00:16:43.46 In the process, thank you, 00:16:43.46\00:16:45.46 Jesus, our legs mend, 00:16:45.46\00:16:47.96 our legs heal and we have now learned how to stay close 00:16:47.96\00:16:52.06 to the Shepherd so we will never stray again. 00:16:52.06\00:16:56.56 So, God, 00:16:56.56\00:16:58.56 if you have to break me, break me. 00:16:58.56\00:17:02.63 God, if you have to chastise me, 00:17:02.63\00:17:05.86 chastise me. 00:17:05.86\00:17:07.53 God, if you have to rebuke me, 00:17:07.53\00:17:09.63 rebuke me, because any way you bless me 00:17:09.63\00:17:13.60 I'll be satisfied. 00:17:13.60\00:17:15.06 Any way you have to save me, I'll be satisfied. 00:17:15.06\00:17:20.00 Any way you have to deliver me, 00:17:20.00\00:17:23.43 I'll be satisfied. 00:17:23.43\00:17:24.93 Any way you have to rescue me, I'll be satisfied. 00:17:24.93\00:17:30.06 Any way you have to redeem me, I'll be satisfied. 00:17:30.06\00:17:38.70 Let me break this down to tell you something. 00:17:38.70\00:17:41.10 The plan of redemption, thank you, 00:17:41.10\00:17:44.30 Jesus, was in place long before 00:17:44.30\00:17:47.16 the foundation of the world. 00:17:47.16\00:17:48.46 Before you were even thought of, 00:17:48.46\00:17:51.00 the Good Shepherd had a plan. 00:17:51.00\00:17:52.73 You all don't hear what I'm saying. 00:17:52.73\00:17:53.93 Before there was a beginning, there was a Good Shepherd. 00:17:53.93\00:17:57.86 John 1:1 says, in the beginning was the Word 00:17:57.86\00:18:01.06 and the Word was with God and the Word was God 00:18:01.06\00:18:04.70 and the Word became flesh. 00:18:04.70\00:18:09.76 The Word, Jesus, 00:18:09.76\00:18:12.46 the Good Shepherd is from the beginning. 00:18:12.46\00:18:15.66 In fact, he is the beginner 00:18:15.66\00:18:17.26 of the beginning. 00:18:17.26\00:18:20.03 He is the beginning in whom the beginning was begun. 00:18:20.03\00:18:21.93 He is the beginning who did not begin to be, 00:18:21.93\00:18:24.96 because he did not start because he had nowhere 00:18:24.96\00:18:27.40 to come from. 00:18:27.40\00:18:28.23 He is not stopped because he has no boundary lines. 00:18:28.23\00:18:31.13 He is older than time, yet younger than future. 00:18:31.13\00:18:34.56 He is what he was, he was what he is, 00:18:34.56\00:18:37.56 and what he was and is he will always be. 00:18:37.56\00:18:39.76 Jesus was always here, always been here, 00:18:39.76\00:18:48.96 always was, always is. 00:18:48.96\00:18:51.16 Even before Abraham was, he said, 00:18:51.16\00:18:56.96 I am. 00:18:56.96\00:18:59.16 What do we have here? 00:18:59.16\00:19:01.36 Jesus who was born 2,000 years after Abraham, 00:19:01.36\00:19:06.10 yet he said he was before Abraham. 00:19:06.10\00:19:10.63 Jesus, who was David's son 00:19:10.63\00:19:13.16 was also David's Lord. 00:19:13.16\00:19:15.53 Jesus, who was Abraham's seed was 00:19:15.53\00:19:19.06 also Abraham's Savior. 00:19:19.06\00:19:20.83 Jesus, who created flesh, 00:19:20.83\00:19:23.20 became flesh. 00:19:23.20\00:19:24.60 When God reversed the beginning, 00:19:24.60\00:19:27.20 when he took a motherless woman from the body of a man 00:19:27.20\00:19:30.36 in creation but then took a fatherless man from the body 00:19:30.36\00:19:36.90 of a woman in redemption. 00:19:36.90\00:19:40.10 He's the God Man. 00:19:40.10\00:19:42.70 Two natures in one personality. 00:19:42.70\00:19:44.73 Protected the interests of heaven with his divinity 00:19:44.73\00:19:47.20 but looked down for the interests of earth 00:19:47.20\00:19:49.66 in his humanity. 00:19:49.66\00:19:50.66 In his divinity he is God's way to man, 00:19:50.66\00:19:53.43 but in his humanity he is man's way right back 00:19:53.43\00:19:56.46 on up to God. 00:19:56.46\00:19:57.70 Two natures harmonize, but never completely blended. 00:19:57.70\00:19:59.86 Can I talk about Jesus? 00:19:59.86\00:20:01.56 He got tired as man, but as God he said, 00:20:01.56\00:20:04.60 come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will 00:20:04.60\00:20:07.66 give you rest. 00:20:07.66\00:20:08.86 As man he got hungry, but as God he fed the hungry 00:20:08.86\00:20:12.13 with two fish and five loaves of bread. 00:20:12.13\00:20:14.73 As man he prayed, but as God he answers prayer. 00:20:14.73\00:20:18.40 As man he got thirsty, but as God he said, 00:20:18.40\00:20:21.10 drink of fountains of living water that 00:20:21.10\00:20:23.10 shall never run dry. 00:20:23.10\00:20:24.10 As man he wanted companionship, 00:20:24.10\00:20:27.73 but as God he had to tread the winepress alone 00:20:27.73\00:20:31.30 As man he wept at Lazarus' grave, 00:20:31.30\00:20:35.90 but as God he resurrected Lazarus from the grave. 00:20:35.90\00:20:41.83 Jesus is the Good Shepherd. 00:20:41.83\00:20:45.10 Ninety-nine for Jesus just won't do. 00:20:45.10\00:20:49.06 He has to go after that one lost sheep. 00:20:49.06\00:20:55.00 And so, today, 00:20:55.00\00:20:57.30 who are the lost? 00:20:57.30\00:20:59.93 Who are the lost in the North Pacific Union? 00:20:59.93\00:21:03.80 The drug addicts? 00:21:03.80\00:21:06.10 The alcoholics? 00:21:06.10\00:21:07.10 The fornicators? 00:21:07.10\00:21:10.63 The adulterers? 00:21:10.63\00:21:11.63 The perverse? 00:21:11.63\00:21:12.63 The thief? 00:21:12.63\00:21:13.66 The mentally deranged, the schizophrenic? 00:21:13.66\00:21:16.23 The psychic, psycho? 00:21:16.23\00:21:18.26 The compulsive fanatics? 00:21:18.26\00:21:19.43 The crazy, people who've had some kind 00:21:19.43\00:21:22.83 of breakdown or something? 00:21:22.83\00:21:24.76 People who have lost their way because of a bad decision 00:21:24.76\00:21:30.06 or a bad relationship? 00:21:30.06\00:21:32.03 Who are the lost? 00:21:32.03\00:21:33.96 In God's eyes we're all lost. 00:21:33.96\00:21:36.90 Isaiah 63:6 says, All like sheep 00:21:36.90\00:21:39.80 have gone astray. 00:21:39.80\00:21:41.26 Who are the lost? 00:21:41.26\00:21:43.20 All of us are the lost. 00:21:43.20\00:21:46.13 The word lost is the same word used in the word 00:21:46.13\00:21:51.50 perish in John 3:16. 00:21:51.50\00:21:53.80 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten 00:21:53.80\00:21:57.20 son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish 00:21:57.20\00:22:00.76 but have everlasting what, everybody? 00:22:00.76\00:22:02.83 (Aud: Life.) John 3:16 could easily be translated that 00:22:02.83\00:22:08.60 whosoever believes in his should not be lost, 00:22:08.60\00:22:14.10 but have everlasting life. 00:22:14.10\00:22:16.86 Who are the lost? 00:22:16.86\00:22:19.60 All of us are the lost. 00:22:19.60\00:22:23.73 But I'm so glad that Jesus came looking for me. 00:22:23.73\00:22:30.53 I'm so glad that troubles don't last always, 00:22:30.53\00:22:36.03 that Jesus came looking for me. 00:22:36.03\00:22:40.16 Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved 00:22:40.16\00:22:45.66 a wretch like me. 00:22:45.66\00:22:48.40 I once was lost but now I'm found, 00:22:48.40\00:22:53.90 was blind--I said, was blind--I said, 00:22:53.90\00:22:58.03 was blind--but now I see. 00:22:58.03\00:23:01.50 Let me tell you something. 00:23:01.50\00:23:02.56 I'm a miracle today. 00:23:02.56\00:23:03.66 You're a miracle today. 00:23:03.66\00:23:05.50 You and I, we've been lost but we're a miracle 00:23:05.50\00:23:10.06 of mercy, a miracle of grace, 00:23:10.06\00:23:12.83 a miracle of favor. 00:23:12.83\00:23:14.66 It's a miracle that somebody is even here today, 00:23:14.66\00:23:18.76 that the Good Shepherd went and found you. 00:23:18.76\00:23:22.43 Somebody knows what I'm talking about. 00:23:22.43\00:23:25.40 You could be anywhere, you could be dead, 00:23:25.40\00:23:28.50 you could be strung out, you could be in jail, 00:23:28.50\00:23:31.33 you could be suicidal, you could have lost your mind, 00:23:31.33\00:23:35.63 but thank God, you're here, 00:23:35.63\00:23:37.90 and because you're here, oh, I'm ready to praise him. 00:23:48.93\00:23:50.16 Anybody been through what you've been through, 00:23:50.16\00:23:53.06 they would have lost their mind. 00:23:53.06\00:23:55.73 You've got a right to praise him. for you, 00:24:13.46\00:24:15.76 you ought to say something. 00:24:15.76\00:24:16.93 If the Lord went out and found you, 00:24:16.93\00:24:18.86 you ought to say something. 00:24:18.86\00:24:19.80 If the Lord has built a bridge over troubled water, 00:24:19.80\00:24:22.60 you ought to say something. 00:24:22.60\00:24:24.93 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. 00:24:24.93\00:24:32.40 If it had not been for the Lord on my side, 00:24:32.40\00:24:42.66 so praise the Lord. 00:24:42.66\00:24:44.10 I said, praise the Lord. 00:24:44.10\00:24:46.33 Don't get tired, praise the Lord.
