verse 6: "And I saw another angel fly 00:38 in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel 00:42 to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, 00:44 and to every nation, and kindred, 00:46 and tongue, and people saying with 00:48 a loud voice, Fear God, 00:50 and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is 00:52 come: and worship him that made heaven, 00:54 and earth, and the sea, 00:56 and the fountains of waters. 00:57 And there followed another angel, saying, 00:59 Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, 01:01 because she made all nations drink of the wine of the 01:04 wrath of her fornication. 01:05 And the third angel followed them, 01:07 saying with a loud voice, If any man worship 01:10 the beast and his image, and receive his mark 01:15 in his forehead, or in his hand, 01:17 the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, 01:19 which is poured out without mixture into the cup 01:22 of his indignation; and he shall be tormented 01:24 with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, 01:27 and in the presence of the Lamb: and the smoke of their torment 01:31 ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest 01:33 day nor night, who worship the beast 01:36 and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark 01:39 of his name. 01:40 Here is the patience of the saints; 01:45 here are they that keep the commandments of God, 01:48 and have the testimony and faith of Jesus Christ. 01:56 I thought it was fitting that we culminate with me 01:59 just simply telling you why I am a Seventh-day Adventist. 02:09 God, speak, 02:12 your servants heareth. 02:13 Move today the airwaves, move today over the radio, 02:22 move today over the Internet, and move in this sanctuary. 02:24 And God, we give you the praise for what 02:26 you're going to do today. 02:29 Forgive me of my sins. 02:32 And when the appeal is made, God, I pray that your 02:35 Holy Ghost would make himself known 02:37 like never before. 02:39 It's in Jesus' name we pray, Amen. 02:42 I want to welcome those who are watching on television and the 02:47 Internet, specifically those in 02:49 Charleston, South Carolina, the Mount Carmel Seventh-day 02:52 Adventist Church. 02:53 Every night you have turned on the television, 02:56 the Internet and put us on the broad, 02:58 big screen at your church, and we here in Huntsville, 03:00 Alabama at Oakwood University Church, 03:03 we welcome you today. 03:04 In our world today there are many different faith groups, 03:11 many different denominations, many different ministries, 03:16 many different churches. 03:20 I've learned over the years that some join a church because of 03:25 convenience. 03:26 The church is down the street. 03:29 So, because it's down the street and the fact 03:33 that gas prices are $4 and then some, some people 03:38 will say, I will join this church because 03:41 this church is convenient. 03:43 We have others that join or are a part of a ministry 03:46 or a church or a movement, a faith group, 03:49 because of tradition. 03:52 My mama did it, my grandmama did it, 03:55 Big Mama did it, so I must do it. 04:04 We have others who join a church or ministry or faith group 04:07 because it's popular. 04:10 It's what's hot. 04:11 It's what's happening. 04:13 It's what hyped. 04:14 So because I want to be a part of that, 04:17 I'll join that ministry. 04:20 We have others that go to different ministries 04:22 and churches just because you go to go. 04:28 You don't know why you go, but you just go to go. 04:35 But as we have said in this revival, 04:38 if you are going to go just to go, 04:42 you better know what you believe, know why 04:47 you believe it, and where it's found from the 04:51 Word of God. 04:53 As I tell my testimony today I want to be clear to those 04:57 watching and those in this sanctuary today, 05:02 to be a Seventh-day Adventist, Seventh-day Adventism 05:07 is not a cult. 05:13 We do not pay extreme homage to the preacher. 05:19 The Lord knows I know. 05:21 Hehe. 05:25 But it is not a cult. 05:29 It is not a crazy faith group. 05:33 Seventh-day Adventism is not and should not be isolated 05:43 and insulated. 05:46 God has not called this faith group to minister 05:50 only to ourselves. 05:54 So, it's because we are Christian believers, 05:58 we will partner with the Salvation Army. 06:02 We will partner with other community agencies that seek to 06:06 go about doing good, because when Jesus was on this 06:10 earth and because we're a follower of Jesus Christ, 06:13 we, too, seek to do good. 06:17 Seventh-day Adventism is not, and let me be clear, 06:22 and should not be rooted in superiority. 06:29 We're not rooted in a mindset that says, 06:32 I'm better than you. 06:36 Understand the ground is level at the cross. 06:42 In this faith group there are no big I's and there are no little 06:46 you's. 06:47 Understand that in this faith group because we're not better 06:50 than anybody else, we just, 06:53 like everybody else, are sinners saved by grace. 06:59 So, then I say what we are 07:02 is a Christian community that celebrates Christ 07:10 and teaches his commandments. 07:14 So that's why if we sing, "O come let's adore him, 07:17 I lift my hands because I'm a Christian community 07:20 that celebrates Christ. 07:23 If we sing "Lift the Savior up, he's worthy, 07:26 I lift my hands because I'm a Christian community that 07:29 celebrates Christ. 07:30 When we sing "Under his wings my soul shall abide, 07:37 something happens within my body, 07:39 soul and spirit, because I'm a Christian 07:42 community that celebrates what Jesus Christ 07:45 has done for me. 07:46 This faith group is rooted, though, in full 07:55 biblical truth. 07:56 Now let me be clear to those who will be baptized today as a new 08:01 Seventh-day Adventist Christian, Bible study is what 08:07 brought you here, Bible study is what's going 08:10 to keep you here. 08:11 Rooted in biblical truths on Christ, 08:18 the solid rock, this church is built. 08:21 Sanctify them through thy truth, thy Word, 08:24 O God, is truth. 08:26 And so I don't make apologies for full biblical truth, 08:31 because truth needs no defense. 08:34 Now, I've learned in my preaching, 08:36 and I think you've understand my presentation, 08:38 while I'm teaching to be rooted in biblical truth, 08:41 I'm very clear that we are not superior to anybody else and it 08:45 is not my job or goal or desire to disparage other churches 08:50 or beliefs. 08:52 Because I'm clear, there are a lot of 08:55 good Christians in other faith groups. 08:58 There are a lot of good Christians in other 09:00 denominations and other churches. 09:02 And it's not about church bashing, 09:07 it's not about I'm better than you, 09:10 but it's all about where is God's 09:12 full Word and truth being preached. 09:15 It's not about who's caught up in popularity, 09:18 tradition or convenience, but it's about who's not afraid 09:22 to call sin by its right name. 09:24 Now, the student of truth keeps an 09:28 open Bible, an open mind and an open 09:33 dictionary, because the Word of God, 09:35 its truth is one thing for which there are no substitutes. 09:40 Truth is something which must be known with the mind, 09:43 accepted with the heart and practiced in the life. 09:47 I've learned over the years that it's not always popular, 09:50 but it's always right. 09:52 So, it's not about how many choirs you have, 09:56 not about how many buses you might have, 10:00 not about how many billboards you might have, 10:02 how many programs you might have, 10:04 how many members you might have. 10:06 It's not about how many ministries you might have. 10:08 All of these things are great, but the heart of the matter is, 10:11 are you preaching and teaching what thus saith the Lord? 10:18 Now, listen to me good. 10:25 Let's be clear on what God calls of us as Christians. 10:31 Because I'm learning, you know, you've got a lot of people 10:35 in the parking lot conversation that say 10:39 and measure what's good and what's not good when it comes 10:42 to church. 10:44 But understand, as I say it all the time, 10:46 preaching is not decibel level. 10:50 If you're going to shout, you better say something 10:52 worth shouting about. 10:54 We're getting caught up in too much hoopla and hollering, 10:58 but we're here not for all of that, 11:01 but we're here to preach the truth. 11:04 I'm the first one to tell you, if it's good I'll hoop 11:08 and hum a little bit. 11:10 But I want to be rooted in the Word of God. 11:14 And so why am I a Seventh-day Adventist? 11:19 Number one, Carlton Byrd is a Seventh-day 11:23 Adventist because the Word of God says in Revelation, 11:27 Chapter 12, verse 17, "And the dragon was wroth 11:36 with the woman, and went to make war 11:40 with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments 11:45 of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." 11:51 If we break that verse down, the dragon, that's Satan. 11:56 Satan, not the person sitting next to you, 11:59 not the person you work for, not the person 12:01 you're living with, but Satan is mad with the woman. 12:06 The woman is God's church, God's true church. 12:12 Satan is mad with the people of God. 12:15 God's people are divine as those that keep God's commandments 12:22 and those that have the testimony of Jesus Christ. 12:26 Revelation 19:10 is clear that" the testimony of Jesus Christ 12:30 is the spirit of prophecy." 12:33 Satan is mad with those people. 12:37 So, you know what? 12:39 Sometimes even though I don't like it, I don't like 12:42 the tough times I have to go through and the trials 12:44 I have to go through. 12:45 I never woke up in the morning and said, God, 12:47 let me, I'm willing, I'll be your spiritual 12:50 guinea pig. 12:51 But I have learned in this life, I've learned that when 12:57 the devil is on you, you must be doing 12:59 something right. 13:01 Because if the devil weren't messing with you, 13:03 maybe you and the devil are running in the same direction. 13:07 Because when you decide to be a child of the most 13:09 high God, that's when trouble starts. 13:13 That's when trials come. 13:14 But I'm so glad, troubles don't last always, 13:19 and I'm so glad that weeping may endure for a night, 13:23 but joy comes in the morning time. 13:26 We must keep the commandments of God, 13:28 the testimony of Jesus Christ and that's why, 13:32 number one, I'm a Seventh-day Adventist. 13:36 Number two, why am I a Seventh-day Adventist? 13:41 Revelation 14:6: " I saw another angel fly in the midst 13:45 of heaven, having the everlasting gospel." 13:47 What kind of gospel, everybody? 13:49 (Aud: Everlasting.) "To preach unto them that dwell 13:51 on the earth, and to every nation, 13:53 and kindred, and tongue, and people." Understand that I'm 13:55 must be a part of a movement, I must be a part 13:57 of a faith group that is willing to take 13:59 the gospel everywhere. 14:03 To the high and to the low. 14:05 To the down and to the out. 14:08 In America and overseas. 14:10 The gospel must go everywhere. 14:12 Go ye therefore and teach all nations, 14:15 baptizing them in the name of the Father, 14:18 the Son and the Holy Ghost. 14:21 Preach the gospel, the message of Jesus Christ 14:24 is not local. 14:25 The message of Jesus Christ is not limited to 14:28 Huntsville, Alabama. 14:30 The message of Jesus Christ is not limited to Atlanta, 14:33 Georgia or New York, New York. 14:35 But the message of Jesus Christ must go to everybody, 14:39 everywhere and then Jesus will come. 14:43 Number three, I'm a Seventh-day Adventist 14:47 because Revelation 14:7 says you must say it with a loud voice. 14:54 "Fear God. Give glory to him; for the hour 14:59 of his judgment is come: and worship him that made 15:03 heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." 15:06 God is calling in these last days. 15:10 He's calling up people, he's calling you, 15:13 he is calling me, to stand up with loud 15:15 voices and say, Fear God, the hour 15:18 of God's judgment is come. 15:20 Yes, the Lord loves you, yes, the Lord loves me, 15:24 but God is trying to raise up a standard. 15:26 Fear God. 15:28 Give glory to him. 15:33 God's last day movement will proclaim that the hour of God's 15:38 judgment is come. 15:39 You see, last year at this time, all of 15:43 us on our knees, Lord, spare us. Lord, save us. 15:46 Tornado has come through but as soon as God rescues us it seems 15:49 that amnesia sets in. 15:53 Fear God, the hour of his judgement 15:59 is come. 16:01 Number four. 16:03 Why am I a Seventh-day Adventist? 16:05 Verse 8: "And there followed another angel, saying, 16:09 Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, 16:14 because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath 16:16 of her fornication." 16:18 Babylon, symbolically, prophetically is spiritual 16:21 confusion. 16:24 People are spiritually confused today, 16:26 because people have drunk the wine from Babylon. 16:35 Babylon, Revelation 18 talks about Babylon, 16:38 the mother of all harlots. 16:41 Mama, the mother church, has made her daughter, 16:45 her children, drink wine, talking about 16:48 spiritual teachings that are not rooted 16:50 in the Word of God. 16:52 And so because Mama has made her daughters drink wine, 16:56 spiritual doctrines that are not rooted in the Word of God, 17:02 people have become spiritually drunk to what is right 17:07 and what is wrong. 17:09 Mama, the institution of the Catholic Church, 17:12 has made her daughters drink this wine, 17:16 wine of eternal torment. 17:18 It's not in here. 17:20 Wine of counterfeit baptism, it's not in here. 17:23 Wine of Sunday sacredness, it's not in here. 17:26 Wine of purgatory, it's not in here. 17:31 And as a result, the daughters of the Mama 17:37 are spiritually drunk. 17:39 (chattering) But God said that his church will say 17:45 with a loud voice, Babylon is fallen, it's fallen. 17:50 Get up out of Babylon, because it's fallen. 17:55 That's another reason I'm a Seventh-day Adventist 17:59 Christian. 18:00 Why am I a Seventh-day Adventist? 18:04 Number five. 18:05 (Revelation 14:9) "And the third angel followed them, 18:08 saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast 18:12 and his image, and receive his mark 18:15 in his forehead, or in his hand, 18:17 the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, 18:19 which is poured out without mixture into the cup 18:21 of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with 18:23 fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, 18:25 and in the presence of the Lamb. 18:26 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever, 18:29 and they have no rest day nor night, 18:31 who worship the beast and his image, 18:33 and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name." I am a Seventh-day 18:37 Adventist Christian because it will clearly warn against 18:42 worshiping the beast and receiving its mark. 18:45 I wish I had time, but you're in here now, 18:49 so I'm going to take my time. 18:51 The Sabbath is so important. 18:53 Young people, listen to me. 18:55 Don't get this twisted and get it mixed up. 18:57 When you go home this summer, sound the loud cry. 19:00 The Sabbath is important because the Sabbath bears God's seal. 19:06 Any seal that you have has a name, 19:09 a title and a territory. 19:12 If you have President Obama up here, he would have his seal 19:15 up here, his name, Barack Obama, 19:18 his title, he's President, his territory, 19:21 the United States of America. 19:27 God has a seal. 19:30 God's seal is God's Sabbath. 19:34 God's seal, God's Sabbath, 19:36 is recorded in the fourth commandment. 19:39 I don't know if they teach this so I'm going 19:41 to teach it right now. 19:43 God's seal, the Sabbath, 19:45 the name, the title and the territory 19:48 of God's seal is in God's Sabbath. 19:50 Name, the Lord; title, 19:53 thy God, he is our creator; 19:55 territory, heaven and earth; sea, 19:58 and all that in them is. 20:00 Hallelujah, somebody. 20:02 That's why it's so important, sound the loud cry. 20:05 It's more than just coming in here clapping our hands 20:11 and stomping our feet. 20:13 The Sabbath is a sign of God's creative and redeeming power. 20:18 Don't you let anyone else tell you otherwise. 20:21 We are moving through in our world 20:23 a new world order. 20:25 We are moving to a scenario where they're seeking to be 20:28 unity here and unity there. 20:30 Brothers and sisters, remember the Word of God says, 20:33 when you hear peace and safety 20:35 you better know that there is sudden destruction. 20:40 We are moving to a cashless society. 20:42 I preached it, some of you didn't come, 20:46 but I'm going to preach it again because repetition deepens 20:50 the impression. 20:51 I go to McDonald's now. 20:53 I don't need cash. 20:54 I use my card. 20:57 I go to the airport and buy USA Today, 20:59 I don't need cash anymore. 21:01 I use my card. 21:02 You better understand the times in which we live. 21:08 God's true commandment-keeping people will warn against 21:12 worshipping the beast and receiving its mark. 21:15 If God's seal is God's Sabbath, then friends of mine, 21:19 you know what must be an image of Satan's mind. 21:22 Number six. 21:28 You ain't going to get this everywhere in the church or out 21:32 of the church. 21:34 Number six. 21:38 Revelation 14:12: "Here is the patience of the saints: here are 21:45 they that keep the commandments of God, 21:48 and the faith of Jesus" Christ. 21:54 I'm a part of this commandment keeping body because we keep all 21:58 commandments of God. 22:00 And you don't just keep one or two or keep none and keep one. 22:03 The Bible says in James, you're guilty of all. 22:06 I said it once, I'll say it again, 22:08 if you're going to go to hell, go first class. 22:17 I'm a part of this movement because I want to keep God's 22:21 word about the Bible, God's word about the Sabbath, 22:26 God's word about the state of the dead, 22:29 God's word about his second coming, 22:32 God's word about his health laws, 22:34 God's word about baptism. 22:36 And so I studied it all. 22:39 Not just Christianity but other religions. 22:42 My comparative religion teacher is a member right here 22:45 in this church and that is Dr. Mervin Wahl. 22:47 Where we study different religions. 22:49 Buddhism, studied it. 22:52 Islam, studied it. 22:54 Christianity, that's what I am, 22:57 a follower of Jesus Christ. 23:00 And I've given you six reasons why I'm a Christian 23:04 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church 23:07 movement. 23:08 The only church that keeps the entire commandments of God. 23:13 The only church that is being ridiculed, 23:15 being called all kinds of names because it worships just on 23:18 God's seventh-day Sabbath. 23:19 Watch and be careful of all what you see on TV. 23:24 Watch and be careful of every pamphlet you get. 23:26 Watch and be careful of every e-mail you get. 23:28 Everything that's sent over the Internet is not of God. 23:31 God's true commandment-keeping church is not a majority church, 23:35 but it's a minority church because it recognizes it must 23:39 follow the straight and narrow. 23:41 It is the only church that has been built on the rock Christ 23:46 Jesus and the gates of hell have not prevailed against it. 23:50 God has called us to be not just hearers of the Word, 23:55 but doers of the Word, and Jesus says in Matthew 12:30: 23:59 "He that is not with me is against me." To the law, 24:04 to the testimony, they speak not according 24:06 to this Word, it is because there is 24:09 no light in them. 24:12 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. 24:15 Fear God. 24:16 Keep his commandments. 24:17 This is the whole duty of man. 24:21 So yes, today, I'm a Seventh-day Adventist 24:24 Christian, why? 24:26 Because I understand the dragon's mad with the church, 24:28 the church keeps the commandments and the testimony 24:31 of Jesus Christ. 24:32 I'm a part of this commandment-keeping body because 24:34 we have been called to go into all the world. 24:36 I'm a part of this commandment-keeping body because 24:38 we have to proclaim the hour of God's judgment now. 24:41 I'm a part of this commandment - keeping body because God 24:44 is calling us out of Babylon. 24:46 I'm a part of this commandment-keeping 24:49 body because the true church, the Seventh-day 24:51 Adventist Church, God's remnant church, 24:53 God's remnant movement, will warn against 24:55 worshipping the beast. 24:57 I am a part of this movement because we have 25:01 the patience of the saints, those that keep God's 25:05 commandments. 25:06 But then finally, number seven, 25:08 because we are Seventh-day Adventists, 25:11 I'm a part of this commandment-keeping body 25:15 because this body believes that salvation only comes 25:23 through Jesus Christ. 25:28 That's why I'm a part of this body. 25:30 Acts 4:12, There is no other name unto 25:35 heaven whereby we can be saved, but save the name of Jesus. 25:45 If you want to know God, you've got to know Jesus. 25:49 If you want to know what God is like, 25:51 you've got to look at Jesus. 25:53 If you want to know the grace of God, 25:55 see Jesus. 25:56 If you want the love of God, you've got to love Jesus. 25:59 If you want the salvation of God, you've got to trust Jesus. 26:03 If you want the blessings of God, tell Jesus. 26:07 And if you seek the will of God, ask Jesus. 26:10 And if you want to live eternally with God, 26:13 live with Jesus. 26:14 Jesus. 26:17 That's the icing on the cake. 26:19 That's why I'm a part of this message. 26:21 That's why I'm a part of this movement, 26:23 because of Jesus. 26:25 Way maker, problem solver, 26:28 heart fixer, mind regulator, 26:31 bridge over troubled water, bill payer, 26:35 tuition clearer, headache reliever, 26:38 marriage savior, lily of the valley, 26:42 bright and the morning star, fairest of ten thousand. 26:45 We get excited about Jesus. 26:47 He heals the brokenhearted. 26:49 He set the captive free. 26:52 (applause) He made the lame to walk again and caused 26:55 the blind to see. So, because of my Jesus, 27:07 my love for him and what he's done for me, 27:10 number seven makes numbers one through six possible. 27:14 If it weren't for the blood of Jesus where would we be? 27:22 >: The Breath of Life gift offer this week is the book, 27:25 "The Ten Commandments Under Attack."
