00:22 Pastor Byrd: What's taking place here?
00:23 Paul, yes, is preaching on Sunday,
00:26 but guess what?
00:26 Pastor Byrd is preaching here on Sunday night.
00:29 That doesn't mean Sunday is the Sabbath.
00:34 First Corinthians 16: 1-2:
00:42 "Now concerning the collection for the saints,
00:46 as I have given order to the churches
00:48 of Galatia, even so do ye upon the first day
00:52 of the week let everyone of you lay by him in store, as God
00:56 hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come."
01:03 Again on this day nothing about Sunday,
01:05 the first day of the week, being holy.
01:07 Paul was an itinerant or traveling, preacher, and he
01:10 would go from city to city preaching.
01:13 He said, when I come through your city have the offering
01:15 ready so I can go to the next city
01:17 and help those who are in need.
01:19 Nothing in here suggesting that the first day of the week,
01:22 Sunday, is the Sabbath.
01:24 And in the spirit of equal opportunity, we are in here
01:27 on the first day of the week, Sunday.
01:29 It's not the Sabbath, but you do know you came
01:31 to church and we collected an offering.
01:33 Do I have a witness in this place?
01:36 Who told you that the first day of the week
01:38 was the Sabbath?
01:39 Now, remember you've got to know what you believe,
01:43 know why you believe it,
01:47 and know where it's found.
01:49 Surely, if someone is so passionate that the first
01:56 day of the week, Sunday, or any other day, for that
01:58 matter, is God's Sabbath, surely if you're so passionate
02:01 about that, you can find it in Scripture.
02:05 Where do we get that?
02:08 Well, God prophesied an attempted change
02:13 in his law.
02:16 Go to Daniel, Chapter 7.
02:20 God told us somebody was trying to change his law,
02:22 which makes sense why God would begin the fourth
02:26 commandment with the word remember.
02:29 Daniel 7:25, and the Word of God says: "And he shall
02:45 speak great words against the most High, and shall wear
02:51 out the saints of the most High, and think to change times
02:59 and laws: and they shall be given into his hand
03:03 until a time and times and the dividing of time."
03:13 Now, I wish I had time, because I would break down
03:19 the time, times and dividing of time, which is the same
03:25 thing as 42 months, 1,260 days, or 1,260 years, but tonight
03:32 I don't have time.
03:35 But I do have time to tell you that God in his Word prophesied
03:42 that somebody or something would seek to change God's law.
03:50 We do know that, because the Word says that.
03:54 Now, please understand and stay with me
03:57 here, take some notes, because we're going to
04:01 now show you historically how God's Sabbath was changed.
04:07 How what God prophesied has come to fulfillment as man
04:14 has sought to change God's law.
04:18 The Roman Catholic Church, and I'm not here to talk
04:24 individual Catholics, but I'm here to speak
04:27 of the institution of the Roman Catholic Church
04:30 because there are good Catholic people that are seeking
04:34 to follow the Lord to what they know.
04:38 But I am here now to speak to the institution of the
04:43 Roman Catholic Church.
04:44 The Roman Catholic Church sees itself as the
04:49 mother church.
04:51 When we say the mother church, the first church, or
04:54 it sees itself as an extension of the New Testament church.
04:59 If you don't believe me, go recite any Apostle's Creed,
05:03 be it in the Methodist Church, Baptist Church,
05:08 the Episcopalian Church, Presbyterian Church,
05:11 when they recite the Apostle's Creed at the very end they
05:15 pay homage to the mother Roman Catholic church.
05:20 Catholic, by virtue of its name means universal.
05:24 Which means universal is everywhere.
05:26 The Roman Catholic Church sees itself as the extension
05:31 of the New Testament church.
05:36 So after the New Testament church, Christian church,
05:39 followers of Christ, the Roman Catholic Church sees
05:43 itself as its extension.
05:45 And it has founded that thought process in Matthew,
05:49 Chapter 16:18 where the Word of Gods says: "Upon this rock
05:54 I will build my church."
05:57 And where they've gone in error is, they are thinking
06:00 that upon this upon this rock I will build my church
06:05 is the rock, Peter.
06:06 What they have mistaken is, Jesus, in Matthew 16:18
06:08 is not talking about the rock, Peter, but Jesus is speaking
06:12 of himself.
06:13 How can you found and find a church on Peter.
06:17 Jesus' church is founded on Jesus Christ, the solid rock,
06:22 the sure foundation.
06:24 On Christ, the solid rock I stand, all other ground
06:29 is sinking sand.
06:31 Pastor Byrd, as persuasive as you might think I am,
06:38 I cannot make you do anything.
06:40 The church cannot make you do a thing.
06:43 We can't legalize anything.
06:51 But when there is a union of what we call church
06:57 and state, or church and government, what the church
07:02 can't make you do, the state or the government can
07:07 make you do.
07:09 Are you hearing what I'm saying?
07:11 That's why in 2012 when you hear talk about new world
07:15 orders, when you hear talk about union of church
07:18 and states, when you see us moving to a cashless society,
07:24 understand that these are all signs that Jesus
07:28 is soon to come.
07:29 Because when you study Revelation, the day is going
07:31 to come when the people of God will not be able to buy
07:35 or sell.
07:36 Why do you hear all this talk about uniting
07:39 North American Free Trade Agreement with NAFTA
07:42 and getting currency that is similar?
07:45 In Europe they already the euro and all of this.
07:47 Why do you think that I can now go into the airport,
07:50 buy U.S.A. Today, not with a dollar,
07:53 but with my credit card?
07:54 I can go to McDonald's now and buy some fries
07:58 with a credit card.
08:00 You don't need money anymore.
08:01 I don't need money anymore, because, understand, all you
08:04 need is that card and with that card you better believe
08:07 the government can find out any and everything about you,
08:10 all they need is that card.
08:19 So when there's a union, church and state,
08:23 you have a problem.
08:26 The mother church couldn't make anybody do anything.
08:32 The mother church as extension, as it saw itself,
08:38 of the New Testament church, begins to go down in time
08:40 and the mother church begins to institute things that are
08:45 not biblically based, but are based on tradition.
08:49 But it goes a step further, because in the year 321 A.D.,
08:53 write that down, go look it up on the Internet tonight,
09:00 the Roman emperor by the name of Constantine
09:07 puts in the Council of Laodicea, 321 A.D.,
09:13 an edict that says on the venerable day
09:16 of the sun in worship of the pagan sun god,
09:21 let all the magistrates in the city cease from working,
09:27 because we're not worshipping or paying homage
09:30 to the sun god.
09:31 And so gradually, what the church can't do,
09:35 the government or the state does do.
09:38 And so now, we slowly see the prophecy of Daniel 7:25
09:43 coming to pass, because the sacredness of God's Sabbath
09:48 is slowly being transferred from Saturday the Sabbath,
09:53 the seventh day of the week, to Sunday, the first day
09:58 of the week.
09:59 In 336 A.D., what took place in 321 A.D. is expanded,
10:08 because in 321 A.D., as I said, it was just
10:10 the persons who worked in the city, but it didn't mean
10:13 the people in the rural or country farm areas,
10:15 because agriculture was a way of business
10:17 for people.
10:18 But in 336 A.D.
10:20 this edict, this command, this law extended beyond just
10:26 those who worked in the city, but now it extended to
10:29 everybody who worked in the fields, who worked in
10:32 agriculture, who worked in rural areas that on the
10:35 venerable day of the sun, cease your work in recognition,
10:41 in homage, to Sunday, the first day of the week,
10:45 the sun god.
10:47 Slowly we see the solemnity and sacredness of the Sabbath
10:51 being transferred.
10:54 We then now go down through the years, and I'm summarizing,
10:56 go to any church and check out what
10:58 I'm talking about, but I'm summarizing
11:01 for the sake of time.
11:02 We then go down and we discover that the Roman
11:05 Catholic Church, the mother church, in
11:07 support of all this begins to institute
11:12 different practices, different traditions
11:15 that have nothing to do with the Word of God.
11:20 Infant baptism.
11:23 Where in Scripture have you ever seen
11:25 a baby being baptized?
11:27 Purgatory.
11:28 Where in Scripture is there anything where purgatory
11:32 or someone is in limbo where they're in between heaven
11:36 and hell and you can pray them out.
11:38 Confession.
11:40 Where is it, why is it that you've got to go confess
11:43 your sins to somebody through a window, plead for
11:46 forgiveness of sin, when the Bible says in 1 John 1:9,
11:50 if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
11:54 our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
11:56 Why do I have to go tell another man who's a sinner
11:59 just like me and ask him for forgiveness of sin
12:01 when there's no other name under heaven
12:03 where I can be saved but save the name of Jesus.
12:10 Why is it now that in order to receive forgiveness of sin
12:14 I have to pay indulgences.
12:20 I've got to pay money to the church.
12:23 A gentleman by the name of Johann Tetzel has the treasure,
12:29 and he's taken payment from people in exchange
12:32 for the forgiveness of sin.
12:36 So in the year 1570,
12:39 a gentleman by the name of Martin Luther comes on
12:44 the scene, and he says, all of this what the
12:48 mother church is doing is based in tradition.
12:52 None o this is rooted in the Word of God.
12:57 And so Martin Luther decides to go up against
13:01 the mother church.
13:03 And he nails 95 theses or statements to the church
13:09 in Wittenberg in Germany protesting against
13:13 the abuses of the mother Roman Catholic Church.
13:17 Now, you need to understand, this was a tough thing to do
13:20 at that time, to go up against the church.
13:22 But God always sends a Moses in his respective time.
13:28 And so he protests against the abuses of the Catholic
13:31 Church and out of these protests we get protest,
13:36 Protestant Reformation.
13:39 And so now through the Protestant Reformation
13:41 we have a split in the mother church.
13:44 And so that's why now when people ask you
13:46 what part of Christianity are you?
13:49 You either say are you Catholic or are you Protestant,
13:52 because out of the Protestant Reformation
13:54 came all these Protestant churches.
13:59 Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran,
14:07 Wesleyan, all these different churches.
14:12 My only regret is that I was not alive in 1517, because I
14:21 would have Martin Luther's sidekick, and I would
14:25 have said, Brother Luther, we can't just stop
14:31 with indulgences, we can't just stop with purgatory,
14:37 we can't stop with counterfeit baptism, but, Brother Luther,
14:44 what are we going to do about the Sabbath?
14:51 What are we going to do about the Sabbath?
15:01 Unfortunately I was not alive.
15:04 But it's 2012 and I ask you, what are we going to do
15:14 about the Sabbath?
15:19 I don't know what you're going to do, but I'm going
15:25 to follow John 24:15 where it says,
15:29 choose you this day whom you're going to serve,
15:35 but as for me, and my house, we're going to serve the Lord.
15:46 Pastor Byrd, I've been doing it this way for so many years
15:50 and I just--it's just been a part of who I am.
15:58 If any man be in Christ, he's a new creature.

18:06 Noah was preaching truth.
18:08 It had never rained before, so tradition said, it's never
18:13 rained before, this man has lost his mind.
18:15 And so, because by tradition it has never rained, why do I
18:21 want to follow this man preaching this stuff he calls
18:24 truth and get in the boat?
18:30 Just before Jesus comes, as it was in Noah's day shall
18:36 it also be in the coming of the Son of man, Jesus Christ.
18:39 But, Pastor Byrd, everybody else going on Sunday.

24:46 Did the Apostles change the law of the Sabbath.
24:49 The answer to that, no.

24:51 Why?
24:52 When the Jews were going in the synagogue, the Gentiles
24:54 were besought that these words might be preached
24:56 to them the next Sabbath.
24:58 Now, when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews

25:40 Sunday, the first day of the week,
