you will begin to buy into a

even convince yourself
that you can't make it.

You will begin to think
that your situation is helpless.

and that there's nothing

that can be done.

Tonight I need to remind
somebody that we serve a God

who specializes
in things impossible.

Because just when it appears
that the devil has you against

the ropes. your family
and your friends have begun to

declare the benediction
on your life. it is at that

moment where God will step in
and God will work a miracle on

your behalf. and send you
boldly back to the pits of

hell with the testimony
to point your finger in the

devil's face and say. "Devil.

you thought you had me.
but I've come to tell you that

I'm back." My brothers and
sisters. this evening I need

to tell somebody that it's
about time to start telling

Because the devil has put all
these things in your life. he

thought he had you. but

devil may throw your way when
you have a divine connection

and what it looks like.
and so what you've been going

through. it's not for Satan's
glory. but what you go through

in life is for God's glory.

How does Satan get the glory?

Satan gets the glory when
we walk around with our sad

songs. with our head down.

talking about
how bad things are.

But no. no. I'm not going
through this. I'm not living

life for Satan's glory.

I'm going through life with my
head lifted up. my chest stuck

out. my hands lifted up.

because I'm going
through this for God's glory.

And so all along I have to
understand that God has his

hand on my situation. that God
has his hand in what I'm going

through to
ultimately bless my life.

So this evening. quickly.

I want to tell you
the story of Lazarus.

All of us have heard
this story. about this man

who lived Jesus.

and Jesus loved him.
00:09:32.13\00:09:33.13
So in short. let
us put it this way.

In summation. the Bible
said that Lazarus was sick. that
00:09:35.40\00:09:40.73
his sisters. Mary and Martha.
00:09:40.73\00:09:42.53
they summoned Jesus.
00:09:42.53\00:09:44.96
When Jesus was on his way
to Bethany. the Bible says
00:09:44.96\00:09:48.40
Lazarus died.
00:09:48.40\00:09:50.40
Lazarus was put in a tomb. and
when Jesus shows up. there's a
00:09:50.40\00:09:53.90
resurrection in Jesus' power.
00:09:53.90\00:09:56.73
Jesus speaks to Lazarus
and Lazarus is resurrected

from the grave.
00:10:01.00\00:10:03.53
Now. this evening I
want you to see some things

through that little summation.

See some things.

and we will then go home.

Lazarus represents us.

We're going to see some
things that. just when the devil

thinks he has you. just
when it looks like there is no

hope. some of you have come
in here this evening. and when

you look at your life. it looks
like there's no help and hope

for your situation.

It seems so there's
nothing else that can be done

in your situation.

But I've come to remind
you that you're going to leave

here with this
testimony: Devil. I'm back.

So I'm going to share
three quick things with you.

And the first point I want
to drive home tonight is this:
00:10:46.80\00:10:49.70
that a relationship
with God does not exempt you
00:10:49.70\00:10:53.73
from sickness.
00:10:53.73\00:10:57.06
A lot of people want to
think that because I'm in a
00:10:57.06\00:11:02.56
relationship with God.
that exempts me. clears me from
00:11:02.56\00:11:06.13
sickness or ailment.
00:11:06.13\00:11:07.10
A relationship with God does
not exempt you from sickness.
00:11:07.10\00:11:12.23
This is an area people
don't like to deal with. many
00:11:12.23\00:11:15.33
people. because primarily we
think that when we find Jesus
00:11:15.33\00:11:17.33
and accept Jesus that
every day is going to be
00:11:17.33\00:11:20.60
a bed of roses.
00:11:20.60\00:11:22.26
But just because you've found
Jesus doesn't mean every day
00:11:22.26\00:11:25.73
is going to be a bed of roses
or a day of peaches and cream.
00:11:25.73\00:11:29.00
Understand. Lazarus
was a friend of Jesus.
00:11:29.00\00:11:33.33
Jesus and Lazarus
had a relationship.
00:11:33.33\00:11:37.70
The Bible says.
though. that Lazarus was sick.
00:11:37.70\00:11:42.36
Now. if you look at verse 3
of John. chapter 11. the Word of
00:11:42.36\00:11:45.10
God says. "Therefore his
sisters sent unto him. saying.
00:11:45.10\00:11:48.86
Lord. behold. he whom thou
lovest is sick." Of whom you
00:11:48.86\00:11:51.66
are in
relationship with is sick. Now.
00:11:51.66\00:11:53.86
this evening we've got to
get straight right off the top
00:11:53.86\00:11:57.26
is this guilt thing. because
regardless of the level of
00:11:57.26\00:12:00.50
your spiritual maturity or
how long you've been in church.
00:12:00.50\00:12:03.16
how deep you are. all of us
in this place have some sort of
00:12:03.16\00:12:07.03
sickness.
00:12:07.03\00:12:10.40
Now. I don't know about you.
00:12:10.40\00:12:12.63
but I found out that when I'm
sick. I ought to at least know
00:12:12.63\00:12:16.40
where I can get some help.
00:12:16.40\00:12:19.76
Now. I'm not talking
about physical sickness here.
00:12:19.76\00:12:23.60
I'm talking about spiritual
sickness in this place.
00:12:23.60\00:12:28.16
Let me make that
more applicable tonight.

I'm talking about when
you don't feel like praying.
00:12:30.93\00:12:35.33
When you don't
feel like trusting.
00:12:35.33\00:12:38.40
I'm talking about when
you don't feel like going

to church.

Some of you have been there.

The issue here is
that Lazarus was sick.

But the good news is.
his sisters knew who to call.

See. you can say what you want
about folk who are struggling

with issues day in and
day out. and people who have
00:12:58.30\00:13:02.36
problems. but the matter
of fact is. if you are sick.
00:13:02.36\00:13:06.16
you need Jesus.
00:13:06.16\00:13:07.30
And if you are sick. you ought
to be in church. because the
00:13:07.30\00:13:09.36
church is not a hotel.
but the church is a hospital.
00:13:09.36\00:13:13.36
This is a hospital and.
in case you didn't know.

everybody up in here
is sick with something.

I know that some of you think
you're not sick with anything
00:13:22.40\00:13:25.70
because you look at other
folk and say. well. look at what
00:13:25.70\00:13:28.73
they're struggling with.
00:13:28.73\00:13:29.76
Look how crazy
and strange they are.

But I've come to tell you.

this is a hospital and I don't
care if you're on the broken

toe floor. I don't care
if you're on the broken ankle
00:13:35.56\00:13:40.26
floor. I don't care if you're
on the pneumonia floor or the
00:13:40.26\00:13:43.40
heart trouble floor
or the psychiatric floor.

I don't care what floor of
the hospital you're on. you're
00:13:45.93\00:13:48.60
still in the hospital.
00:13:48.60\00:13:49.20
Just because you may not
be sick in one area. don't you
00:13:49.20\00:13:55.06
look down on somebody else
who's sick in another area.
00:13:55.06\00:13:58.26
because sickness is sickness.

And all sickness needs a Savior.

You see. one of the reasons
why a lot of folks say. oh.

I don't know about the church
thing is because too many of
00:14:07.23\00:14:10.40
us act like we
have it all together.
00:14:10.40\00:14:12.30
So it's difficult. because
the world says whenever I have a
00:14:12.30\00:14:14.66
problem. whenever I have a
struggle. the church just may
00:14:14.66\00:14:17.36
be the last place I want
to go. because those folk
00:14:17.36\00:14:20.46
down there are perfect.
00:14:20.46\00:14:21.93
They've got it going on.
00:14:21.93\00:14:23.10
They must might look down at me.
00:14:23.10\00:14:25.60
They can't
understand my struggle.

But I come to tell somebody
tonight in the name of Jesus

that it's time for the people
of God to get real. it's time

for us to let folk know
that we understand what they're

struggling with.
because just a few days ago

we were struggling
with the same thing.

I don't understand some of our
senior saints who look down on

our younger saints.

Oooh. them wild young people.

What goes around comes around.

Back in your day you were while.

lawyer when I'm sick.

accountant when I'm sick.

I go to a doctor when I'm sick.

Because when you're sick
there's no need of you trying

to go to somebody else
who's sick to try to help you.

Our problem is. we take
sickness to sickness. and we

try to get
sickness to help sickness.

him." When so-and-so
sings. I can't get with that.

When so-and-so teaches.

I know too much about them.
