My name 00:22 is Dr. Carlton Byrd and I'm the speaker director 00:24 of the Breath of Life television ministry and we are 00:27 here again at the Southeastern Conference camp 00:31 meeting at the campgrounds in Hawthorne, Florida, 00:33 and we are praising God for what God 00:35 has been doing for us, through us and in us. 00:38 I'm not just excited, but all who are present 00:43 here this evening as we preach and share the gospel 00:45 of Jesus Christ, they are also excited. 00:48 In fact, they're so excited they're putting their hands 00:51 together right now to give God some praise. 00:54 We're ready to get in the Word tonight and if you have your 00:57 Bibles, I want you to turn with me to the Book of Mark. 01:00 What book, everybody? 01:01 Come on, what book, everybody? 01:02 The Book of Mark, Chapter 5, verse 21. 01:08 The Word of God says, "And when Jesus was 01:10 passed over again by ship unto the other side, 01:15 much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh 01:19 unto the sea." Verse 22: "And, behold, 01:23 there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, 01:25 Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 01:29 and besought him greatly, saying, 'My little daughter 01:33 lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come 01:35 and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; 01:38 and she shall live.' As soon 02:30 as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the 02:33 ruler of the synagogue, 'Be not afraid, only believe.' And 02:39 he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, 02:41 and John the brother of James. 02:42 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, 02:44 and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 02:47 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, 'Why make ye 02:50 this ado, and weep? 02:51 the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.' And they laughed 02:55 him to scorn. 02:57 But when he had put them all out, he taketh 03:01 the father and the mother of the damsel, and them 03:03 that were with him, and entereth in where 03:05 the damsel was lying. 03:05 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, 03:08 'Talitha cumi;' which is, being interpreted, ' Damsel, 03:13 I say unto thee, arise.' 12:09 Let me get on this right now. 12:11 When you really need something from the Lord, you've got to 12:14 pursue God like you've never pursued him before. 12:17 This man Jairus was in the multitude but he did not allow 12:21 the crowd to stop him from what he needed. 12:25 There comes, friends of mine, a time in your life when you 12:28 have to be so radical in your prayer life that it doesn't 12:32 make a difference how many people are around you. 12:36 You've made up in your mind, I'm not intimidated 12:38 by the crowd. 12:39 I'm not worried about what people may say or do. 12:41 I'm trying to get to Jesus. 12:44 And somebody in this place, when you pray like this, I'm 12:49 talking about in your secret closet, I'm talking about face 12:53 fall and prostrate down on the ground. 12:56 When you pray like this, you make up in your mind that by 13:00 any means necessary, I'm trying to get to Jesus. 13:05 As a matter of fact, Jairus was devoted to Jesus' 13:08 presence, because even though there are a lot of people 13:11 around Jesus, Jairus is trying to get in his presence. 13:14 And I want you to understand, the crowd represents commotion. 13:17 Everybody say commotion. 13:20 And what Jairus needs represents devotion. 13:23 Everybody say devotion. 13:24 A lot of people are showing up but a lot of folk aren't 13:27 here for the same reason. 13:30 That's why sometimes you have to tell folks, if you knew 13:34 what I was here for you'd understand why 13:37 I act like I act. 13:39 You'd understand why I shout like I shout. 13:43 You'd understand why my praise is not programmed, because I'm 13:47 trying to get in the very presence of God, because in 13:50 the presence of God there's fullness of joy. 13:52 When you're in the crowd trying to get to Jesus, 13:55 you're not in the crowd like everybody else. 13:57 You're not in the crowd trying to be a spectator. 13:59 You're not in the crowd trying to be an onlooker. 14:01 You're not in the crowd just trying to figure out who's 14:04 here and who's not here. 14:05 It's your turn and you need it to be your time. 14:10 You say, I don't care who's calling me. 14:13 Pass me not, O gentle Savior, hear my humble cry. 14:20 While on others thou art calling, do not pass me by. 14:28 And understand, when you pray like this, you've got to get a 14:31 radical petition in for yourself. 14:35 Lord, this isn't my mother, this isn't my father, this 14:40 isn't my husband, my wife, my sister or my brother, 14:43 but it's me, it's me, it's me O Lord, 14:47 standing in the need of prayer. 14:51 It's my turn and I need it to be my time. 14:57 But what do you do when you have a radical petition and 14:59 you pursue God's presence needing a miracle 15:02 and then it's interrupted? 15:04 What do you do when it's your turn and you 15:06 believe it's your time? 15:06 What do you do when Jesus says, I hear you, I'm on my 15:09 way to your house, your daughter is sick, I'm on the 15:13 way to your house, it's your day, Jairus. 15:15 This is your day. 15:17 Come on, Jairus. 15:19 The multitude is following, following you and Jesus 15:22 to your house. 15:24 But what do you do when it's your turn 15:27 and what you need it about to happen, 15:30 and then it's interrupted? 15:33 Jairus pursued Jesus. 15:38 Jesus is following Jairus to Jairus' house. 15:43 But there's a woman who heard that Jesus would be passing by. 15:47 The Bible says that she's been sick for 12 years. 15:51 She needed something from Jesus, too. 15:54 She presses her way through the crowd and says that 15:57 if I can just touch the hem of his garment, 16:00 then I can be made whole. 16:03 But, what a minute, Jesus is on his way 16:08 to Jairus' house. 16:11 Jairus' daughter is sick. 16:14 It's an emergency. 16:16 It's Jairus' turn. 16:19 Jesus says, I'm on my way to your house. 16:23 You're on the itinerary. 16:25 It's your day. 16:27 It's your turn. 16:29 But what do you do when it's interrupted? 16:33 You're walking with Jesus. 16:35 Jesus is about to give you just what you need, but then 16:38 Jesus stops and says, somebody touched me. 16:44 Can you imagine Jairus said, yup, Jesus, somebody 16:48 probably has touched you. 16:49 There's a bunch of people out here pushing and shoving and 16:52 touching, but come on Jesus, my daughter is sick. 16:55 We're almost at the house. 16:56 I need a miracle today. 16:58 I know these other folk might need help, but I need my 17:01 miracle for my daughter today. 17:03 We don't have much time. 17:07 What do you do when it's your day, it's your turn, but 17:11 somebody has to get theirs first. 17:15 Somebody has to get their healing first. 17:17 Somebody has to get their breakthrough first. 17:19 I've come to tell somebody tonight that maybe you need to 17:22 understand that even when it looks like somebody else has 17:25 to get their breakthrough first, it does not dilute 17:27 the fact that your miracle is on the way. 17:30 That maybe God is saying, I'm trying to see how 17:34 you're going to act when I bless other people 17:37 before I bless you. 17:39 I'm trying to see if you're going to have an attitude 17:41 when somebody else gets the miracle, when somebody else 17:45 gets the promotion, when somebody else passes the test, 17:49 when somebody else gets in line first, when somebody else 17:52 gets the degree first, when somebody else gets married 17:55 first, when somebody has their baby first, when somebody 17:58 gets out of debt first, when somebody else gets 18:02 the healing first. 18:04 Here is the woman with the issue of blood. 18:08 It slows up the itinerary and she gets her breakthrough. 18:15 Jesus heals the woman, the Bible says, and says, 18:19 daughter, your faith has made thee whole. 18:24 But let's go back to Jairus. 18:26 The Bible says the messenger comes to Jairus and says, 18:30 Jairus, don't worry about it. 18:31 Don't trouble the Master. 18:35 Your daughter is dead. 18:38 Jairus is probably saying now, if it weren't for this woman, 18:42 maybe we would have made it on time. 18:46 If it weren't for this interruption maybe we would 18:48 have gotten there on time. 18:49 If it weren't for this distraction, it would have 18:52 been my turn and my time. 18:55 But then Jesus says in Mark 5:36, "Be not afraid, only 19:02 believe." In other words, whose report are you 19:08 going to believe? 19:10 Don't you know who I am? 19:12 I am the resurrection and the life. 19:16 Don't sit back and listen to what other folks say 19:19 about your situation. 19:20 If I do show up late, I'm still early. 19:23 You're with the answer, so why are you focusing 19:26 on the problem? 19:27 You're with the cure, so why are you focusing 19:28 on the disease? 19:29 It's not a miracle if I get there when you want me to, 19:33 it's a miracle when I show up late. 19:38 And so the saints say, he may not come when you want, but 19:41 he's always right on time. 19:44 He's an on-time God. Yes, he is. 19:46 Do I have a witness in this place? 19:48 Let me throw this in. 19:49 That's why you have to surround yourself with 19:53 positive people. 19:55 The right people. 19:56 You don't need to be around folk who mean you no good. 19:59 You can do bad by yourself. 20:01 Are you hearing what I'm saying? 20:03 Jesus gets to Jairus' house and then Jesus says, 20:06 listen to me carefully, Jesus says, the Bible 20:09 said it, Peter, James and John, not the 12 of you all, 20:16 but I just need Peter, James and John. 20:21 I appreciate the rest of you, but I need Peter, 20:25 James and John. 20:27 All of you have on your uniform, but I just need 20:29 Peter, James and John. 20:32 Somebody's going to get this in a minute. 20:34 Because we're getting ready to confront the enemy, 20:37 so I just need Peter, James and John. 20:43 Why do I keep saying Peter, James and John? 20:46 The principle behind this is that the closer you get to 20:49 your miracle, the closer you get to your breakthrough, 20:53 your crowd is going to get smaller. 20:57 Because everybody is not going to understand the level of 21:02 spiritual warfare that you're about to enter into. 21:05 So that's why you have to understand and you have to 21:09 know who your Peter, James and John are. 21:12 It doesn't mean there's anhing wrong with Andrew, 21:14 Thomas and Bartholomew, but you've got to know who your 21:17 Peter, James and John are, because everybody 21:19 can't handle everything. 21:21 I wish I had a witness in this place. 21:26 Jesus goes to Jairus' house, Jairus is weeping, 21:31 his daughter is dead. 21:33 She was 12 years old. 21:35 Jesus had 12 disciples. 21:38 Israel had 12 tribes. 21:41 The woman who had the issue of blood had it for 12 years. 21:45 I wish I had time to work with the number 12. 21:47 Here's the deal, they get to the house and the people in 21:53 the house are crying. 21:55 They're having the wake, they're having 21:59 the family hour. 22:00 Jesus walks in with Peter, James and John. 22:03 The house is full of mourning. 22:05 Jesus says to Jairus, your daughter is not dead, 22:10 she's sleeping. 22:13 Now, the Bible said that the folk in the house started 22:17 laughing, like Jesus was joking, like he was crazy 22:20 or making something up. 22:22 The Bible then said, read it when you go home, the Bible 22:25 then says that Jesus puts them out. 22:30 Let me tell you something. 22:31 When you're praying for a miracle, when you're looking 22:35 for a miracle and you've got people shouting and laughing 22:39 and making fun and not believing, in the name of 22:43 Jesus, put them out. 22:51 Can I testify for a minute? 22:53 There have been times that I've gone in Atlanta, Georgia 22:56 and prayed for people in the hospital. 22:59 Somebody was sick and the family wanted me 23:02 to pray for healing. 23:03 And before I pray, now I say, it was nice to see all of you, 23:07 it was nice to meet all of you, but I believe in Jehovah Raffa. 23:11 I believe that my God is a healer and if you don't 23:15 believe that, no hard feelings, I'm not mad at you, 23:19 but I need you to get out of this room because we're 23:21 about to pray down the power of God 23:24 and I don't need any doubting, any laughing, any unbelieving, 23:28 faithless spirits in this room. 23:30 Do I have a witness in this place? 23:34 That's why I don't ask everybody to pray for me. 23:37 You'll understand that. 23:40 Not that I'm trying to be mean, but I got to make sure 23:42 you're praying to the same spirit of God 23:45 that I'm praying to. 23:46 God told me to tell somebody today that there are some folk 23:48 who are laughing at what God is getting ready to do 23:50 in your life. 23:52 They think you're crazy for believing it's getting 23:54 ready to happen, but God told me to tell 23:55 you to tell them to get your stuff and get out, 23:57 because you don't need folk in your life doubting 24:00 your miracle. 24:01 You need somebody who you can touch and agree with. 24:04 You need somebody who can stand in agreement with you. 24:07 You need a child of God who knows how to fall on their 24:11 knees and pray a radical prayer and get 24:14 a prayer through. 24:16 You need an arm-swinging, Holy Ghost intoxicated, 24:20 power-praying child of God who can stand in agreement 24:23 with you, believing God can work a miracle 24:27 in your life. 24:29 Mark 5:40, "And they laughed him to scorn. 24:36 But when he had put them all out, he taketh 24:42 the father and the mother of the damsel, and them 24:46 that were with him, and entereth in 24:49 where the damsel was lying." Verse 41, "And he 24:52 took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, 'Talitha 24:54 cumi,' which is being interpreted, 'Damsel, 24:56 I say unto thee, arise." 25:01 Hallelujah, somebody. 25:03 I know people may be getting ready to have the funeral. 25:05 I know people may be getting ready to say, it's over, but 25:08 I've come tonight to declare that God's got 25:11 resurrection power. 25:12 Anybody know God's got resurrection power? 25:14 That's why you've got to know that the power of life and 25:18 death are in the tounge. 25:20 Let me be real tonight. 25:22 Too many of us speak ourselves into death, but there comes a 25:28 time in your life when you've got to speak life 25:33 over your situation. 25:35 Life over your family. 25:36 Life over your marriage. 25:38 Life over your children. 25:39 Life over your job. 25:41 Life over your business. 25:43 Life over your sickness. 25:44 Life over your church. 25:46 Do I have a witness in this place? 25:50 The Bible says that Jairus' daughter got up 25:53 and when the girl got up, they were all astonished. 25:55 They were all amazed. 25:56 You've got to learn how to look folks dead in the eye and 25:59 say, when God does it for me, all of my haters, all of my 26:07 naysayers, they're going to lose their minds when they see 26:12 what God has done in my life. 26:14 It's your turn, and it's your time. 26:20 PB: I would thank you very much for tuning in to the 26:23 Breath of Life telecast today. 26:24 I do hope you were blessed by the work of God today. 26:30 I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to 26:33 become a partner of the Breath of Life television ministry. 26:35 That's right, you may give a tax deductible donation and 26:39 partner with us as we seek to give hope and peace of mind to 26:44 the dying world in which we live. 26:48 To contact us, feel free to give us a call at 26:50 877-BOL-OFFER. 26:59 Or feel free to write us at the address shown 27:02 on your screen. 27:03 Finally, you can reach us by logging on to our web site at 27:06 www.breathoflife.tv. 27:12 Again, thank you very much for tuning in today and we want to 27:15 thank you in advance for partnering with our ministry. 27:18 May God continue to bless you. 27:21 >: It's an age old question, what happens after we die? 27:24 The Breath of Life gift offer this week is "What the Bible 27:27 Says About Death."
