temple at the hour of prayer,

And a certain man lame from
his mother's womb was carried,

whom they laid daily at
the gate of the temple which is

called Beautiful, to ask alms
of them that entered into the

and John about to go into the

people experience in life have

that God has for our lives,
consequently I've discovered

in life that many people
are guilty of blaming other

people for their condition.

Some people blame their
current situation all the time

on the way they were raised.
00:03:51.30\00:03:54.13
We blame our
upbringing or we blame a system.
00:03:54.13\00:03:59.00
But there comes a time in
your life where you must take
00:03:59.00\00:04:01.20
responsibility and
declare that God has something
00:04:01.20\00:04:04.00
better for my life.
00:04:04.00\00:04:06.00
So, regardless of the
misfortunes of my past,

regardless of the mistakes
of your past, regardless of the

mismanagement of your
past, regardless of what has

happened to me, God
is able to get me up out

of this negative situation.

And so the word today
is, man, woman, get up.

Stop whining about it.

system for where you are.

It's time for you to realize
that God has empowered you

about this because I'm talking

women who find themselves in

situations, who make
excuses as to why things aren't

happening in your life.

Well let me tell
you today to get up.

Here's an interesting
story, interesting narrative.

It is the story of Peter,
the story of John, fresh from a
00:05:06.46\00:05:09.53
Pentecostal
experience in Acts, Chapter 2.
00:05:09.53\00:05:13.03
It's interesting because
in Acts, Chapter 1 we received
00:05:13.03\00:05:16.06
the promise of the Holy Spirit.
00:05:16.06\00:05:19.03
The Bible says, "Go and tarry
and the Holy Ghost will come
00:05:19.03\00:05:23.00
upon you." Then in Acts,
Chapter 2, we receive the
00:05:23.00\00:05:26.80
presence of the Holy
Spirit on the day of Pentecost.
00:05:26.80\00:05:30.50
The Bible says, "They were
in one place, in one spirit, on
00:05:30.50\00:05:35.56
one accord and the Holy Spirit
did come." Now we're in Acts,
00:05:35.56\00:05:42.06
Chapter 3, where we now
receive after receiving the
00:05:42.06\00:05:46.00
promise and the presence,
we are now ready to receive the
00:05:46.00\00:05:49.03
power of the Holy Ghost,
and it's right here in this
00:05:49.03\00:05:52.53
episode with Peter and
John on their way to the temple.
00:05:52.53\00:05:56.06
The Bible says that as they
were on their way to the house
00:05:56.06\00:05:59.56
of prayer they met a man.
00:05:59.56\00:06:03.83
There was a man who
was outside the gate.
00:06:03.83\00:06:06.50
Everybody say gate.
00:06:06.50\00:06:08.20
There was a brother out
there by the gate and his
00:06:08.20\00:06:10.76
situation was very pitiful.
00:06:10.76\00:06:13.73
The brother had been carried
there daily because he was
00:06:13.73\00:06:16.56
lame and so he
asked alms of everybody.
00:06:16.56\00:06:20.86
Every time somebody
would walk by, he would cry,
00:06:20.86\00:06:23.93
"Alms. Alms, alms for the poor."
00:06:23.93\00:06:27.70
And when Peter and John
encountered this man they
00:06:27.70\00:06:30.70
leave this man in a
better situation than how they
00:06:30.70\00:06:34.00
met him.
00:06:34.00\00:06:35.40
And I want you to understand
today that regardless of your
00:06:35.40\00:06:37.90
situation, the fact that
you got here today is evidence
00:06:37.90\00:06:43.40
that you're not going to leave
here the same way you came.
00:06:43.40\00:06:46.43
God's going to do
something miraculous
00:06:46.43\00:06:49.96
in somebody's life today.
00:06:49.96\00:06:51.40
Do I have a
witness in this place?

And so the message is, get up.

But what's this man's problem?

What's really going on with
the brother at the gate crying

"Alms for the poor"?

Let me tell you what I
think his first problem was.

The first problem was
he was in the wrong place.
00:07:05.30\00:07:09.00
Note where the word of God
say, the Bible says, the man
00:07:09.00\00:07:12.40
was at church but not in church.
00:07:12.40\00:07:17.83
He was at the gate but
the people went past the gate
00:07:17.83\00:07:23.36
into the temple.
00:07:23.36\00:07:25.20
And if you're going to be
where God wants you to be,
00:07:25.20\00:07:27.73
you must understand
that you must get in
00:07:27.73\00:07:31.23
the right place spiritually.
00:07:31.23\00:07:32.53
Because if you're not in
the right place spiritually,
00:07:32.53\00:07:35.63
you're not in place at all.

God is looking for some folk,
he's looking for people who

want to move from
being at to being in.

Are you hearing what I'm saying?

Let me say this to the brothers.

Men in the house.

We need some men who will
step up to the plate and be the

leaders that God
has called us to be.

The reason why many sisters,
I'm learning and finding,

don't respect many brothers
is because we're out of place.

You can't expect to be
respected as the man of the

house if you're
spiritually out of place.

Not only was the man in the
wrong place spiritually, but

the man was lame.

Everybody say lame.

Now it's interesting because
the Bible says he was lame

from his mother's womb.
00:08:19.93\00:08:21.13
He was lame.
00:08:21.13\00:08:21.63
He can never walk on his own.

The man lacks, if you will,
the ability to move forward.

He wasn't going anywhere.
00:08:27.26\00:08:28.73
He depended on other
people to get him from point A

to point B.
00:08:31.83\00:08:33.00
He was lame.
00:08:33.00\00:08:33.83
He lacked the
ability to be mobile.

He was in a situation
based on his condition.

He had never walked before.
00:08:38.86\00:08:41.86
Now there's a spiritual
revelation I want to quickly

draw out of this.

Because as long as
you're satisfied at the gate,

you're going to be lame.
00:08:49.33\00:08:53.90
You all don't
hear what I'm saying?

In other words, you're not
going anywhere at the gate.

Somebody right now, you're
listening to this message from

God, and you're wondering why
you're in a certain situation

and everything you
hook up with is lame.

It's not going anywhere.
00:09:12.26\00:09:14.26
It's because
you're still at the gate.
00:09:14.26\00:09:16.30
Now I know some people know
what I'm talking about because

you can be lame relationally.
00:09:18.33\00:09:22.60
Ladies, when you have a
man that's lame relationally,

I don't care how
you hook up with him,

it's not going anywhere.

And brothers, if you
have a sister that's lame

relationally, I don't care
what you try to enhance her

life with, your relationship
is not going anywhere

as long as they are lame.

You'll be in the
same situation this year,

next year.

Stop hooking up with lame
situations in relationships.

When you're lame financially,
some people just stay

rather than doing it God's way.

God says, if you do it my way

blessing that there shall not

be room enough to receive it.

But too many of us are
trying to do it our way.

In the church, in the
membership by running numbers,

running games,
running through a casino.

Rather than trust God, and

We are fresh from a

And I just believe that God
is raising up some positive men.
