00:11 ♪ oh yes he's worthy ♪ ♪ worthy of all ♪ 00:21 Powerwalking Because scientists and medical 00:25 persons say it will keep the heart beating but will be easy 00:28 on your joints when you hit the ground with less than half 00:33 the force you do when you jog. 00:35 Powerwalking because thousands of doctors recommend it 00:39 hundreds of studies affirm it 00:42 and millions of people do it. 00:48 Powerwalking. 00:49 It's simple, it's easy, it's different from normal. 00:51 It's powerwalking. 00:53 God says to his people, I want you to powerwalk. 00:58 You don't have to run, you don't have to jog. 01:02 I want you to powerwalk. 01:03 That's how you're going to fight this. 01:06 That's how Jericho's walls are going to fall. 01:09 Powerwalking. 01:10 The Holy Ghost is going to give you power in your steps, 01:14 and the walls of Jericho are going to come tumbling down. 01:19 Now, on the surface the thought of invading and 01:22 overtaking Jericho seemed absurd. 01:27 That they were to overtake Jericho without weapons was 01:31 even more crazy. 01:33 But sometimes I've learned in life the things of God appear 01:39 strange to man. 01:41 But I've learned that it doesn't make a difference what 01:44 it looks like, that whenever God gives you a word, you 01:48 already have the victory. 01:51 Because if God said it, that settles it. 01:55 God says, my ways are not your ways, my thoughts are not your 02:00 thoughts. 02:02 God is not a God that God should lie. 02:03 God is not the Son of Man that God should repent. 02:07 If the Lord said it, you can count on it, he will do just 02:11 what he says, and words shall not return until him void, but 02:16 it will accomplish what it set out to do. 02:20 God told the children of Israel, I want you to 02:23 powerwalk. 02:26 Powerwalk. 02:28 Powerwalk around Jericho for six days, one time each day. 02:33 He continues, God does, with the plan in verse 4. 02:37 The Word says, "And seven priests shall bear before the 02:43 ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye 02:48 shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall 02:54 blow with the trumpets." 02:57 What is the Word saying? 02:58 On the first six days, they were supposed to 03:02 powerwalk around Jericho one time. 03:07 But the Bible says that on the seventh day they were to 03:10 powerwalk around Jericho's walls seven times. 03:15 Verse 5: "And it shall come to pass, that when they make a 03:19 long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the 03:23 sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout," 03:29 hallelujah, "with a great shout; and the wall of the 03:32 city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up 03:37 every man straight before him." Verse 6: "And Joshua, 03:41 the son of Nun, called the priests and said until them, 03:43 take up the ark of the covenant." Let me stop right 03:48 there. 03:49 Now, watch this. 03:49 In verses 4 and 5 God gives instructions. 03:53 In verse 6, Joshua does it. 03:56 In verses 4 and 5, God tells Joshua what to do. 03:59 In verse 6, Joshua does it. 04:02 Joshua doesn't say, well, Lord, you know that doesn't 04:04 make sense. 04:07 Joshua does not say, well, Lord, that's illogical. 04:10 Can't I do it this way? 04:12 No, Joshua says, I'm just going to do it. 04:16 Joshua does it. 04:17 Turn to your neighbor and say, just do it. 04:19 Tell them, just do it. 04:20 You know why I'm telling you just do it? 04:23 Because lesson number four: While you're trying to 04:25 rationalize in your mind what God is doing, and it may not 04:30 make sense to you, you ought to just go ahead and do it, 04:34 because God knows just what he's doing. 04:37 After all, God's been God longer than you've been you. 04:41 Do I have a witness in this place? 04:44 Go back to verse 6. 04:46 "Joshua, the son of Nun, called the priests and said 04:48 until them, take up the ark of the covenant. 04:50 And let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns 04:53 before the ark of the Lord." 04:54 Verse 7: And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass 04:56 the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark 04:58 of the Lord." Verse 8: "And it came to pass, when Joshua had 05:02 spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the 05:05 seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the Lord, and 05:08 blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the 05:11 Lord followed them." Verse 9: "And the armed men went before 05:14 the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward," 05:17 or rear guard, "came after the ark, the priests going on, and 05:21 blowing with the trumpets." 05:24 Joshua, take the ark of the covenant, but before you send 05:28 out the ark of the covenant, get seven priests, put them 05:33 before the ark, and let them blow trumpets of rams' horns. 05:37 But before you send out the priests to blow rams' horns, 05:41 send out some soldiers. 05:43 Send out some armed men to go before the trumpet blowers. 05:47 God is saying, I need some soldiers. 05:50 God says, go get me some men who are not afraid. 05:53 Go get me some men who are not scared, who are not afraid 05:57 before you. 05:58 God says, I don't need any cowards. 06:01 God says, I need some men who are strong. 06:03 God says, I need some men who are not afraid to go into the 06:07 enemy's camp and look the enemy dead in the eye and say, 06:10 in the name of Jesus I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere 06:14 until I did what I came for. 06:18 Too many of us, we walk around like Christian cowards. 06:22 Walk around defeated. 06:24 We're too afraid to confront the enemy. 06:28 The devil is beating you on every hand, doing this and 06:30 doing that. 06:32 But sometimes you've got to go into the enemy's camp and say, 06:35 devil, I'm not going to take another day of this. 06:40 Drawing a line in the sand. 06:42 I've had enough. 06:42 I'm here, and I'm here to stay. 06:44 I'm going to fight this fight. 06:47 Do I have a witness in this place? 06:48 Oh, yes, we need some men, we need some women, we need some 06:54 boys and girls who are armed and dangerous. 06:57 When you're a spiritual person, your armed and 07:01 dangerous in the Holy Ghost. 07:02 In the spiritual realm, when you're armed and dangerous, 07:06 nobody knows what to do to you because nothing frightens you. 07:10 You all hear what I'm saying. 07:11 You have to let the devil know, devil, I'm not afraid of 07:14 you. 07:15 I'm not afraid to let you know that you're not going to take 07:19 my family. 07:21 Devil, you're not going to take my finances. 07:23 Devil, you're not going to have my health, you're not 07:25 going to have my life. 07:26 Why? 07:27 We are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 07:31 We can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth us. 07:34 If God be for us, who can be against us? 07:38 I don't have to wait until the battle is over, I can shout 07:40 now, because verse 2 says that God has already given me the 07:45 city. 07:48 Stop walking around with your head down, afraid of what the 07:50 devil's going to do to you. 07:52 Don't you know you've got power? 07:54 You're a powerwalker. 07:57 Go out and blow your trumpets. 07:58 Blow your horn. 08:00 The Bible says there were seven trumpets, seven priests 08:04 blowing rams' horns. 08:05 So by blowing the trumpet it was an act of worship. 08:10 It was creating an atmosphere of the supernatural. 08:14 Next lesson: God moves when we worship. 08:19 I said God moves when we worship. 08:24 When we worship God, though, we must worship God in spirit 08:28 and in truth. 08:31 Because God speaks to us through his Word in worship. 08:37 And when you worship God, hallelujah, somebody, you 08:40 create an atmosphere where you stop looking at people and you 08:45 start focusing on God, and God begins to speak to you. 08:52 Somebody is a witness in this place today, that God starts 08:57 showing you stuff he doesn't show everybody else. 09:00 He starts saying things to you he doesn't say to everybody 09:03 else. 09:04 In worship the Word of God comes alive. 09:08 Let me be clear. 09:10 I love to sing, I love to sing the hymns, the anthems, some 09:13 gospel. 09:14 I love to sing. 09:15 But it's nothing like the Word of God. 09:18 The Word of God comes alive and speaks to our souls. 09:21 Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin 09:25 against thee. 09:26 Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. 09:30 Thy Word is sharper than any two-edged sword, profitable 09:33 for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in 09:37 righteousness. 09:38 I don't know about you, but I need a Word from the Lord. 09:41 I come to church to get a Word from the Lord. 09:50 In our cultural tradition, there used to be a time when 09:54 we used to come to church to shout only. 09:57 After a long hard week, you just came to church to shout 10:00 and say Amen. 10:02 There used to be a time when we came to church and all we 10:04 waited on was the preacher to say hallelujah. 10:06 And then we'd shout back, thank you, Jesus. 10:09 But you see, now we're not dealing with the same stuff 10:13 that our foreparents dealt with back in the day. 10:17 We're dealing with some tough stuff now. 10:20 Our children go to school every day dealing with some 10:23 tough stuff. 10:24 You've got to let the devil know, in the times in which we 10:27 live, devil, I'm not playing with you. 10:30 Devil, I need a Word from the Lord. 10:34 And when you get the Word, God will open up the windows of 10:37 heaven, pour you out a blessing that there shall not 10:41 be room enough to receive it. 10:42 The Bible says that they were to walk around the city every 10:47 day, six days, one time. 10:51 Six is the number for man. 10:56 God made man on the sixth day. 11:00 When you die, they're going to bury you six feet under. 11:05 I pray that some of you last night didn't enjoy a six-pack. 11:10 Do I have a witness in this place? 11:11 Because six is the number of man for man. 11:16 But understand, six is man's number, but God has another 11:24 number. 11:25 Go to verse 15. 11:26 Joshua 6:15 says, "And it came to pass on the seventh day, 11:34 that they rose," hallelujah, "early about the dawning of 11:39 the day, and compassed the city." The same way you've 11:45 been doing it, but this time seven times. 11:47 Because "only on that day they compassed the city for seven 11:51 times." Verse 16: "And it came to pass at the seventh time, 11:57 when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the 12:03 people, Shout; for the Lord hath given you the city." Now, 12:13 I want you to see something. 12:14 Remember back in verse 5, B portion, we were told that the 12:18 people were to shout with a great shout. 12:21 Verse 16 says, "Shout on the seventh day." Seven is God's 12:26 number. 12:27 "For the Lord has given the city." Number seven, God's 12:32 number, signifies completion. 12:36 It signifies perfection. 12:39 God created the world in six literal days, but rested on 12:45 day seven. 12:46 Israel observed the feast of Passover for seven days. 12:51 Elisha ordered Naaman to go dip in the Jordan seven times. 12:56 Seven steps led to the entrance to Solomon's temple. 13:00 The genealogy of Jesus as recorded in Matthew, chapter 13:05 1, goes back 42 generations, which is six times seven. 13:10 Before Jesus died on Calvary, he uttered seven last words. 13:15 The Bible mentions seven churches in Revelation. 13:18 Seven seals in Revelation. 13:21 At the time of Jesus' second coming, seven angels are going 13:25 to sound seven trumpets. 13:26 The children of Israel had to go around Jericho seven times 13:32 on day seven, and they were supposed to shout. 13:37 Now, we've heard this story before, but there's something 13:40 significant about the shout. 13:43 Because whenever they would go in battle, they would shout 13:48 when they got ready to charge the enemy. 13:51 They would say Ah! 13:53 And I know I'm scaring somebody and making somebody 13:55 uncomfortable, but shouting is a byproduct of confidence. 14:00 My daddy taught me when I was a little boy, if somebody 14:03 comes up to you like they're going to beat you up, even if 14:06 you can't fight, just shout, and that will scare them and 14:09 make them run away. 14:13 All that is within me comes forth in the shout. 14:18 Why are the people of God told to shout? 14:21 Because in verse 2 the Bible says that they've already been 14:25 given the city. 14:26 In verse 16, the Bible says, "It shall come to pass on the 14:30 seventh time, when the priests blow their trumpets," you're 14:34 supposed to shout. 14:37 But let me tell you something, and let me be clear. 14:39 Next lesson, probably final lesson. 14:42 You cannot measure the authenticity of a person's 14:45 relationship with God based on a shout. 14:49 Because everybody who's shouting is not real. 14:55 Do I have a witness in this place? 14:57 Some of this stuff we see is rehearsed, some of it is fake 15:02 and phony, and then, bottom line, there's just some 15:05 shouting that's not of God. 15:07 Now, Pastor Byrd is not saying that shouting is wrong, nor am 15:12 I here to judge the authenticity of a shout. 15:15 Because in just a moment somebody just might shout. 15:18 But the Holy Ghost is not going to have you running over 15:22 pews, running under pews, running through pews, all your 15:27 stuff hanging out while you're shouting. 15:29 The Holy Ghost is not going to have you hurt yourself. 15:33 The Holy Ghost is intelligent. 15:36 I wish I had time, folk hitting you all in the head, 15:38 hallelujah, giving you a black eye, folk walking around 15:41 afterward with a broken arm and crutches on one leg. 15:45 I was in the Spirit. 15:46 You weren't in the Spirit. 15:47 You were in a spirit, but not the Holy Spirit, because it's 15:50 not how high you jump when you shout, but how straight you 15:53 walk when you come back down. 15:56 So Joshua says, Tell them to shout with a great shout on 16:05 the seventh time. 16:07 This is true praise. 16:09 It is something that is within me. 16:11 So much Word, so much confidence, that I'm not 16:13 concerned about what somebody says, what somebody does or 16:15 how somebody looks at me. 16:18 There was a time in my life, and all of us go through this 16:22 in our lives at some time, when you basically praise God 16:25 like your family did. 16:28 You watch children. 16:30 They praise God just like their family. 16:33 Children respond to the church just like their family. 16:37 If your family doesn't clap, you don't clap. 16:40 If your family doesn't say Amen, you probably don't say 16:42 Amen. 16:44 If your family doesn't lift holy hands, you don't do it, 16:47 because you weren't raised that way. 16:51 But when you begin to grow for yourself, and when you begin 16:56 to grow in the B-i-b-l-e, yes, that's the book for me, I 17:00 stand alone on the Word of God, the B-i-b-l-e. 17:04 And you got away, and you begin dealing with you, and 17:09 you have been through some things for yourself, and you 17:12 stop piggybacking off somebody else's testimony, and you knew 17:17 what it was like to be sick yourself, you knew what it was 17:21 like to be broke yourself, you knew what it was like to get 17:25 your feelings hurt yourself, you knew what it was like to 17:28 almost lose your mind yourself, you knew what it was 17:30 like to be on the borderline of suicide yourself. 17:34 But then you saw how God brought you out, when you 17:40 began to praise him. 17:41 It's not about Mama's praise anymore. 17:43 It's not about Daddy's praise anymore. 17:46 It's not about Pastor Byrd's praise anymore. 17:49 It's not about the praise team's praise anymore. 17:51 But it's all about you and all about Jesus, and everything 17:56 within you begins to open up and you forget who's sitting 18:00 next to you. 18:03 And you begin to open up your mouth, and you begin to give 18:06 God a radical praise. 18:08 Because when the praises of God are going up, somebody 18:13 knows the blessings come down. 18:14 Now, you've got two choices, and I'm going to 18:19 take my seat. 18:21 You can either pout or you can shout. 18:27 You can either pout or you can shout. 18:35 And I've made up my mind that I'm not going to have the 18:39 devil discourage me anymore. 18:41 Walk around with my head down. 18:43 Walking around with a pity party. 18:45 No, I'm getting ready to powerwalk. 18:47 Anybody know what I'm talking about? 18:48 Devil, you thought you had me. 18:51 But when I think of the goodness of Jesus and all he's 18:54 done for me, my soul cries out, hallelujah. 19:02 Thank God for saving me. 19:03 So I'm going to shout right there. 19:08 You've got to learn to open up your mouth sometimes and say 19:10 Ahhh. 19:12 The Bible says, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye 19:14 lands. 19:15 Serve the Lord with gladness." 19:17 I know sometimes you can't find the words, but sometimes 19:19 you've got to just open up your mouth and say, Ahhh. 19:23 I know there's a wall in your way sometimes, an economic 19:33 wall, a health wall, a spiritual wall, a family wall 19:38 sometimes. 19:39 But sometimes you've got to say to that wall, Ahhh. 19:41 Because we're getting ready to go into the enemy's camp. 19:47 And God's going to take everything back that the devil 19:50 stole. 19:51 And I know you've been talked about. 19:54 I know you've been criticized. 19:57 I know you've gotten your feelings hurt. 20:00 But we're getting ready to confuse the enemy. 20:02 Somebody's getting ready to shout. 20:05 I know you can't tell by looking at me, you can't tell 20:08 what I've been through, but if you only knew what I've been 20:11 through, you'd understand why I praise him like I do. 20:14 You'd understand why I shout like I do. 20:17 You'd understand why I lift my hands like I do. 20:20 I almost lost my mind, but I'm here. 20:23 Somebody should have been strung out, but you're here. 20:25 Somebody should have been homeless, but you're here. 20:28 You should have been in an institution somewhere, but 20:32 you're here. 20:33 And you've got a testimony. 20:34 I'm getting ready to powerwalk. 20:38 I'm a powerwalker. 20:41 I'm walking and talking with my mind stayed on Jesus. 20:45 I'm a powerwalker. 20:46 He woke me up this morning, started me on my way. 20:50 Put food on my table, clothing on my back. 20:53 I'm a powerwalker. 20:58 And one day I'm going to walk on up in God's kingdom. 21:01 I'm going to put on my long white robe, 'cause I'm a 21:03 powerwalker. 21:05 I'm going to sing and never get tired, 'cause I'm a 21:07 powerwalker. 21:08 I'm going to eat grits with Jesus 'cause I'm a 21:11 powerwalker. 21:12 I'm going to sing and never get tired, because I'm a 21:15 powerwalker. 21:16 "Let not your heart be trouble; ye believe in God, 21:18 believe also in me. 21:20 In my Father's house are many mansions. 21:29 If it were not so I would have told you. 21:32 I go and prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a 21:34 place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto 21:39 myself, that where I am, there ye may be also." I'm a 21:49 powerwalker. 21:53 Notice in the text, God didn't need sticks and stones, bows, 21:57 arrows, guns or ammunition. 22:01 All God needed was a preacher and a praise team. 22:05 You all hear what I'm saying? 22:07 That's all. 22:08 That's all he needed. 22:10 And if I can just say a word, if you can just say a word, 22:22 speak life over your situation, speak the Word of 22:26 God in your life, if you can just say a word for the Lord 22:30 and then begin to powerwalk. 22:31 Pastor, I don't know how I'm going to make it. 22:34 Just powerwalk. 22:35 When you powerwalk, you walk by faith, and not by sights. 22:43 I'm a powerwalker. 22:45 Some of you think you're powerwalking, you're 22:46 powerwalking to lose weight. 22:48 No, powerwalking, God is increasing somebody's faith. 22:51 Father God, today you've already given us the city. 23:05 You've already given us the city. 23:09 The New Jerusalem's already ours. 23:13 All we have to do is powerwalk. 23:17 Walk in your Word, walk in your truth, and walk in 23:20 obedience. 23:22 God, we've study your Word about the second coming. 23:30 We've study your Word about the millennium. 23:33 We've studied your Word about the state of the dead. 23:35 We've studied your Word about the Sabbath. 23:38 God, now it's time for us to powerwalk. 23:45 To walk in confidence. 23:47 Walk in obedience. 23:50 Walk for the right, though the heavens fall. 23:55 It's time for us to powerwalk. 24:00 And God, we believe, and we claim that when we powerwalk 24:04 in the name of Jesus that walls will come tumbling down. 24:10 The difficulties in our lives will come down when we 24:12 powerwalk in the name of Jesus. 24:16 So God, move, move, because there is a man, there's a 24:20 woman, there's a boy and there is a girl today who needs to 24:23 powerwalk to the front. 24:26 And when they powerwalk to the front they need to give me 24:29 their hand, but give you, Lord Jesus, their heart today. 24:32 There's somebody who today in faith needs to have the 24:35 courage to get out of that seat and powerwalk and give 24:38 their life to you. 24:41 So Lord, send your Holy Ghost right now. 24:45 Send your Holy Spirit in a mighty way. 24:50 May they move at your voice, at your spirit. 24:53 Forgive me of my sins, because, God, we want this 24:55 prayer to get through to you. 24:56 So move, Lord, I pray. 24:58 If we have to walk around the city seven times, Lord, 25:01 whatever you do, any way you bless us, we'll be satisfied. 25:03 We're powerwalkers. 25:07 God, we can shout now for the victory because, Lord, we can 25:12 shout for the victory recognizing you've already 25:14 given us the city. 25:16 The Holy City is ours. 25:18 The New Jerusalem is ours. 25:19 You've given it to us already. 25:24 So Lord, move. 25:24 It's in Jesus' name I ask these things, óóóó. 25:32 Let everyone say Amen. 25:33 ----- PB: Thank you very much for joining us today in Breath 25:36 of Life television. 25:38 We do hope you enjoyed our broadcast, and we want to give 25:40 you this opportunity to partner with us as we seek to 25:44 share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. 25:47 To learn of ministry interest or to partner with us, feel 25:50 free to give us a call at 877-BOL-OFFER. 25:54 If you would like to write us, you may feel free to do so as 26:04 well, by writing to us at the address shown on your screen. 26:09 Finally, feel free to log onto our website, at 26:12 www.breathoflife.tv, to share with us your ministry 26:18 interest. 26:28 Once again, thank you for tuning in today. 26:31 May God continue to bless you. 26:33 >: We'd all like to live healthier lives, but doing so 26:36 and maintaining it aren't always so easy. 26:39 It's hard when the foods we love are also the foods that 26:42 can hurt us the most, and when it's easier to watch TV than 26:44 it is to exercise. 26:46 What we need are straight answers and some 26:49 encouragement. 26:50 The Breath of Life gift offer this week is Dr. Arnott's "24 26:53 Realistic Ways to Improve Your Health."
