how God finally rid
the Universe of sin.

get rid of that sin
through the sanctuary.

the Millennium and how God

ultimately rids
the Universe of sin.

Okay, "Speak unto
the children of Israel,

shall sin through ignorance

commandments of the Lord

concerning things
which ought not to be done,

If a priest that

And we'll pause right there.

And so basically what
you've happening here,

you read through the
entire book of Leviticus

Chapter 4 rather and
you'll see this process,

the sin of ignorance for the
priest, for the congregation,

for the ruler,
for the common person.
00:03:30.52\00:03:32.90
And basically they were,
they were basically the same,
00:03:32.91\00:03:35.86
the sinner was to take an animal
00:03:35.87\00:03:38.45
and he was to lay his hands
on the head of that animal.
00:03:38.46\00:03:41.96
When he was doing that,
what was happening is that
00:03:41.97\00:03:44.50
his sins were
being, through confession,
00:03:44.51\00:03:47.61
they were being
transferred from himself
00:03:47.62\00:03:50.25
to that innocent animal.
00:03:50.26\00:03:52.04
The animal was then
killed and that animal
00:03:52.05\00:03:55.49
is now carrying the
sin of the individual.

So the sin in a
sense had been transferred
00:03:59.33\00:04:01.77
from the person to the animal.

When a animal was
killed his blood was taken,

now that blood was now
holding the record of sin.

The sin had been
transferred from me

to the animal now
the animal is killed,

that blood is taken
containing the record of sin.

The wage of sin is death.

That blood was
taken and it was taken

into the
sanctuary and it was put

on the horns of the
altar like a thumbprint

on the horns of the altar.

So what was happening
here is that the sanctuary was

in essence recording
the fact that sin had been

confessed and that a
sacrifice had been made.

In that blood we might say
was the record of one's sin
00:04:44.28\00:04:48.78
and also the record
of their repentance.

Okay, so this
happened on a day by day basis,

and of course as
you hearing the sinology

you'll think about
Christ, about how He came into

this world to bear
our sins. That's right.
00:05:03.05\00:05:06.33
He took our sins
upon Him and in that way
00:05:06.34\00:05:12.00
we have received forgiveness.
00:05:12.01\00:05:14.95
And so you see the
gospel illustration there.

So that's how God
removes sin from us.
00:05:17.47\00:05:21.37
The sinner
walked away from that,
00:05:21.38\00:05:23.54
from that ritual knowing that he
00:05:23.55\00:05:26.38
had been cleansed
and forgiven from sin.

However, this was not the
end of that particular sin
00:05:30.84\00:05:35.08
because the record was
still in the sanctuary.
00:05:35.09\00:05:39.57
And so imagine if
you will, day by day,
00:05:39.58\00:05:43.27
throughout the,
the Hebrew year sins
00:05:43.28\00:05:46.20
are being piled
up in the sanctuary.
00:05:46.21\00:05:49.57
The record of sins are
just growing and growing
00:05:49.58\00:05:51.91
and increasing in the sanctuary.
00:05:51.92\00:05:54.50
Well, there came a
day in the Jewish year,
00:05:54.51\00:05:57.34
it was called
the Day of Atonement.
00:05:57.35\00:05:59.77
On that particular day,
it was the day set aside
00:05:59.78\00:06:02.87
to cleanse all the
sins that had been piling up
00:06:02.88\00:06:07.23
throughout the year.
00:06:07.24\00:06:08.28
This happened every
year on a yearly basis.

We'll read about that in the
Book of Leviticus Chapter 16.

So let's go to
Leviticus Chapter 16

and let's take a
look at verse 1 on.

"And the Lord spake
unto Moses after the death

of the two sons
of Aaron, when they

offered before
the Lord, and died.

And the Lord said unto Moses,
00:06:32.04\00:06:33.40
Speak unto Aaron thy brother,
00:06:33.41\00:06:34.97
that he come not at all
times into the holy place
00:06:34.98\00:06:37.97
within the veil
before the mercy seat,
00:06:37.98\00:06:40.63
which is upon the
ark that he die not
00:06:40.64\00:06:44.75
for I will appear in the
cloud upon the mercy seat."

Okay, that's good right there.

So what Aaron
is being told here,

who is a high priest was that,
00:06:51.35\00:06:53.09
He was not allowed to come,
00:06:53.10\00:06:54.53
the high priest
was not allowed to
00:06:54.54\00:06:56.03
go into the Most Holy
Place of the sanctuary
00:06:56.04\00:06:59.06
anytime they wanted to.
00:06:59.07\00:07:00.06
There was a one day
designated for Him to
00:07:00.07\00:07:02.97
enter into that
phase of His ministry
00:07:02.98\00:07:05.59
and this is called
the Day of Atonement.
00:07:05.60\00:07:08.08
It was a day where
the sanctuary itself
00:07:08.09\00:07:10.67
was cleansed from all the sins
00:07:10.68\00:07:13.87
that had been piling there.
00:07:13.88\00:07:15.84
Now it's very
important to understand
00:07:15.85\00:07:17.63
that if you were a
Hebrew and you gone,
00:07:17.64\00:07:21.10
you had through the year and
you had not sent your sins in,
00:07:21.11\00:07:25.67
you had not confessed your sins
00:07:25.68\00:07:28.46
and did not partake
of this Day of Atonement
00:07:28.47\00:07:31.52
when the sanctuary
was being cleansed.
00:07:31.53\00:07:33.93
It wasn't a good
day, the Bible said that
00:07:33.94\00:07:35.73
those who failed to
do this would be cutoff.
00:07:35.74\00:07:39.59
Now in the Hebrew mind
that the Day of Atonement
00:07:39.60\00:07:41.44
is equivalent to
the Day of Judgment.
00:07:41.45\00:07:44.32
And so it was a very high
day in the camp of Israel.
00:07:45.64\00:07:49.20
But if you look
down in verse 16,
00:07:49.21\00:07:52.08
speaking of what the high
priest was to do on this day,
00:07:52.09\00:07:54.36
it says, "And he
shall make an atonement
00:07:54.37\00:07:56.28
for the holy place,
because of the uncleanness
00:07:56.29\00:08:00.51
of the children of
Israel, and because of their
00:08:00.52\00:08:03.41
transgressions in all
their sins, and so shall he do
00:08:03.42\00:08:08.25
for the tabernacle
of the congregation,
00:08:08.26\00:08:10.70
that remaineth among them
00:08:10.71\00:08:13.10
in the midst of
their uncleanness."
00:08:13.11\00:08:16.19
So basically we have
the Bible here telling us
00:08:16.20\00:08:18.54
that on the Day of
Atonement the entire sanctuary
00:08:18.55\00:08:23.40
was being cleansed
from the sins that had been
00:08:23.41\00:08:26.96
placed there
throughout the year.
00:08:26.97\00:08:29.48
Okay, in a sense, in a sense,
00:08:29.49\00:08:33.53
when a person had
their sins forgiven,
00:08:33.54\00:08:37.46
they were happy,
they went away excited,
00:08:37.47\00:08:39.31
but they knew that, that
wasn't the end of the story.
00:08:39.32\00:08:42.25
They knew, that
they also had to be,
00:08:42.26\00:08:44.44
to participate in the Day
of Atonement to have those
00:08:44.45\00:08:48.16
sins finally,
totally wiped cleaned,
00:08:48.17\00:08:52.19
never to be remembered again.

Okay, now that's very
important to understand

and if we can use
an analogy to kind of
00:08:57.75\00:08:59.99
help you see, you know,
how this, this, this works.

your very own house

something that you
go through every week.

That
illustrates this very point.

and you're cleaning things

you take that garbage you put it

in the garbage
pail in the kitchen.

Right. Your
house is clean, right?

Absolutely, it's clean and
yet the garbage is still there.

And what's you do
is, you take that garbage
00:09:39.44\00:09:40.97
and you put it out by
the side of your house.
00:09:40.98\00:09:43.98
Now, to a certain degree
you can forget about that
00:09:43.99\00:09:47.26
garbage because it's
outside of your house.
00:09:47.27\00:09:49.61
But in a certain sense
you don't forget about it,

because what happens?

Day after day you're
piling up the garbage.

And more and
more garbage piles up.

And more and more garbage

is filling up
outside your house.

Now one day of the week
and oh what a day that is,

it's a nerve-wracking
day almost because--

that on one day of the week,

the garbage truck is coming
to gather all that garbage

The garbage is
gonna stay at your house.

Which it had stayed

You get stuck with the garbage.

We forget to
take the garbage out

It says, "And when he hath made

an end of
reconciling the holy place,

and the tabernacle
of the congregation,
00:11:07.92\00:11:09.80
and the altar, he
shall bring the live goat.
00:11:09.81\00:11:14.06
And Aaron shall
lay both his hands
00:11:15.11\00:11:17.19
upon the head of the live goat,
00:11:17.20\00:11:19.36
and confess over him
00:11:20.45\00:11:22.25
all the iniquities of
the children of Israel,
00:11:22.26\00:11:25.04
and all their transgressions
in all of their sins,
00:11:25.05\00:11:28.23
putting them upon
the head of the goat,
00:11:28.24\00:11:30.27
and shall send
him away by the hand

of a fit man
into the wilderness.

And the goat shall bear
upon him all their iniquities

Now, very important to
understand about this goat,

earlier in Leviticus Chapter 16

on this Day of Atonement,

two goats were
chosen for a ritual
00:11:52.84\00:11:58.25
and between these two
goats, one was further chosen
00:11:58.26\00:12:01.21
to be the Lord's goat,
that goat was sacrificed,
00:12:01.22\00:12:05.53
the other goat was
known as the scapegoat.
00:12:05.54\00:12:08.89
Okay, and so one is for the Lord
00:12:08.90\00:12:11.61
and the other
represents a different power.
00:12:11.62\00:12:15.63
It's not for the Lord.
00:12:15.64\00:12:17.44
Now this is the goat at
the very end of the ritual.
00:12:17.45\00:12:20.28
This is the goat
upon whom the high priest
00:12:20.29\00:12:22.45
after He had gathered
all the sins that were being,
00:12:22.46\00:12:25.88
that were in the sanctuary
that had been set there
00:12:25.89\00:12:28.92
beforehand by repentant people.
00:12:28.93\00:12:32.26
He gathered all those
sins and He laid hands
00:12:32.27\00:12:35.84
on the head on
this goat confessing
00:12:35.85\00:12:39.75
the sins of all of
Israel, all of repentant Israel
00:12:39.76\00:12:44.52
upon the head of this scapegoat.
00:12:44.53\00:12:46.88
The scapegoat was then
sent out into a desolated place.

It was the
garbage truck if you will,

that comes around once a week

and gathers the
garbage and where does it go,

it takes the
garbage out into a--

Desolated place,
a landfill, right?

A waste land, if you will.

So have been
understood that here is,

what the Bible is
trying to show us.

Is that when we as
God's people confess our sins,

we know that we're forgiven.
00:13:18.35\00:13:20.20
Yet we look
around and we still see
00:13:20.21\00:13:23.15
that sin is in this world.
00:13:23.16\00:13:25.50
We still suffer from
the consequences of sin
00:13:25.51\00:13:27.65
and really we still
have a memory of sin.

Oh boy, you know, I can't
believe I actually did that.

But the time is
coming, the time is coming

symbolized by
the Day of Atonement

or the Day of
Judgment, that God is gonna take

all those sins or rather
the high priest, Jesus Christ,

is gonna take all
those sins and He's going to
00:13:42.65\00:13:45.53
place them upon the
head of the scapegoat.

With that let's go to the
Book of Revelation Chapter 20.

Revelation
Chapter 20, and Atonte,

why don't read verses 1 to 4.

And it says, "And I saw an angel
00:13:59.49\00:14:01.01
come down from
heaven, having the key
00:14:01.02\00:14:03.21
of the bottomless pit and
a great chain in his hand.
00:14:03.22\00:14:06.84
And he laid hold of the
dragon, that old serpent,
00:14:06.85\00:14:09.70
which is the Devil, and Satan,
00:14:09.71\00:14:11.65
and bound him a thousand years,
00:14:11.66\00:14:14.02
And cast him into
the bottomless pit,
00:14:14.03\00:14:15.79
and shut him up,
and set a seal upon him,

that he should
deceive the nations no more,

till the thousand
years should be fulfilled

that were beheaded
for the witness of Jesus,

and for the word of God,

worshiped the beast,

neither his image,
neither had received his mark

upon their
foreheads, or in their hands

with Christ a thousand years."

Okay now verse 5 says,
"But the rest of the dead

live not again until the
thousand years were finished."

So here's what
we're gonna see here,

this 1,000 year period begins
00:14:59.84\00:15:02.91
with Satan being
bound for 1,000 years.

It also begins
with the resurrection

of the righteous dead.

Now we know
that the resurrection
00:15:13.50\00:15:14.99
of the righteous dead
occurs when Jesus comes again.

So the second coming of
Christ is what kicks off

or starts The Millennium.

Now here's why
that's so interesting
00:15:26.29\00:15:28.30
because Christ is currently
He's right now our high priest
00:15:28.31\00:15:33.31
ministering on our
behalf in the Most Holy Place.
00:15:33.32\00:15:37.39
When Christ leaves
the Most Holy Place it is,
00:15:37.40\00:15:41.34
it is the very same
action that was shown
00:15:41.35\00:15:44.41
in the Old
Testament when the high priest
00:15:44.42\00:15:46.59
had gathered all the
sins from the sanctuary
00:15:46.60\00:15:49.14
and was now
leaving the sanctuary
00:15:49.15\00:15:51.68
to place the sins that had been
00:15:51.69\00:15:54.69
compiling there, the
sins of the righteous,
00:15:54.70\00:15:56.64
to place them upon the
head of this scapegoat.
00:15:56.65\00:15:59.87
Well, here we find
that, that when Christ leaves
00:15:59.88\00:16:05.17
the sanctuary,
the Most Holy Place,
00:16:05.18\00:16:06.83
that's when He's coming again
00:16:06.84\00:16:08.98
to resurrect the righteous dead
00:16:08.99\00:16:11.99
and to call up the
righteous living to where He is.
00:16:12.00\00:16:14.95
That's why I find it
interesting that right here
