But as we know, the children
of Israel did not do that.

And, you know, I was thinking

God took the whole
entire Old Testament

to just show us what happens

when we rebel
against His word or His will.

And that's what
happened to Israel,

they, God always gives
us the freedom of choice,

and they choose not to take
this blueprint and guard it,

but they decided to go against
some of the principles of God.

And because of that, the enemy,

Satan was able to come
in and do things to them,

and even put
them into captivity.

And so he was able to do things

that wouldn't
have happened to them

if they would
have just trusted God

and had Faith in God.

And follow that blueprint,

which is what the Bible
describes as the sanctuary.

His verse quite frequently,

Psalms 77:13 tells us,

is in the sanctuary,

calling the GPS the blueprint.

of the gospel plan.

God had given this model

Spirit, I mean, literal
Israel did fumble the ball,

God was telling them to do.

So God passed the
ball to spiritual Israel

and spiritual Israel ran down

that was running down the field

and was on fire for the Lord

and doing all that they
could do in their power.

So we know because of that
Satan had to try to come up

with some plan
to try to stop them.

That's right. God gives
this sanctuary blueprint

to Israel in the Old Testament

and He says, Christ is coming
in a certain period of time,

ready for His coming.

But Israel instead
of accepting Christ,

they rejected Him and
God takes that message

and He passes it

up into the Most Holy Place,

Ark of the Covenant,

was the divine glory of God.

of the plan of salvation,

baptism, the word of God,

the very presence of God.

This is the gospel
right here in a nutshell.

Sometimes we like to say
that it's the gospel juice,

And so, now that you have
that picture in your mind,

look at what Satan actually did

to try to destroy the truths

that are taught
by this sanctuary.

Well, first, spiritual
Israel was so understanding
00:06:50.09\00:06:54.93
every aspect of this GPS,
00:06:54.94\00:06:57.57
they understood
it and they got it.
00:06:57.58\00:06:59.64
And so Satan's
original plan was,
00:06:59.65\00:07:02.69
well, let's just
destroy, kill spiritual Israel.
00:07:02.70\00:07:05.80
That's right, and so
he uses literal Israel
00:07:05.81\00:07:10.14
to attack spiritual Israel.
00:07:10.15\00:07:11.91
That's what you
find in the New Testament
00:07:11.92\00:07:14.04
with the persecutions that
were going on because of this,
00:07:14.05\00:07:18.39
you know, new
religion, spiritual Israel
00:07:18.40\00:07:22.56
the gentiles are
being, are being,
00:07:22.57\00:07:24.58
you know, attack this religion,
00:07:24.59\00:07:26.32
and in fact, what they do is
00:07:26.33\00:07:27.63
they team up with literal Rome.
00:07:27.64\00:07:29.91
So literal Israel, and
literal Rome kind of unite

in their persecution against
the New Testament Church,

which was made up of
both Jew and Gentile.

There was no
distinction anymore.

Christ's death,
burial, and resurrection

got rid of that
dividing line, if you will.

And so, but the devil got,

you know, upset about it,
about the tact He was using.

Because what he
found was the more

that Christians were killed

is the more
that they multiplied.

And so we're talking about,

you know, 100
AD, 200 AD, 300 AD,

Rome is seriously
persecuting the Church,

but they're just multiplying,
multiplying, multiplying.

So Satan realizes he has
to come up with a new tactic,

and so we find this new
tactic in Daniel Chapter 8.

Daniel Chapter 8,

would come upon the scene.

and toward the east,

down some of the host

Okay, Daniel Chapter 8
is telling us of this power

that was to come upon the scene

that would do something
just amazing in a bad way.

It would take this, the truth,
00:09:50.48\00:09:53.57
and cast it down to the ground,
00:09:53.58\00:09:55.23
and it would
practice and prosper.
00:09:55.24\00:09:57.30
It also says that
this little horn power
00:09:57.31\00:09:59.89
would cast down the sanctuary.
00:09:59.90\00:10:04.48
Now it's important to understand
00:10:04.49\00:10:05.60
the timeframe
we're speaking of here

because this little horn
00:10:07.23\00:10:08.44
is also mentioned
in Daniel Chapter 7.
00:10:08.45\00:10:10.90
So let's just
flip back one chapter

to Daniel Chapter
7 and in Daniel 7,
00:10:13.07\00:10:16.83
Daniel has another
vision where he sees four beasts
00:10:16.84\00:10:20.28
or four kingdoms
coming into power.
00:10:20.29\00:10:23.63
For the sake of
time those four beasts
00:10:23.64\00:10:26.19
are Babylon, Medo-Persia,
Greece and then Rome.
00:10:26.20\00:10:30.83
And after Rome,
Daniel sees ten horns,
00:10:30.84\00:10:34.37
these ten horns represent
the various divisions of Rome,
00:10:34.38\00:10:37.62
but after that he
sees another little horn
00:10:37.63\00:10:41.28
coming up among these ten horns.
00:10:41.29\00:10:44.29
We can read about that
in Daniel Chapter 7 verse 8,
00:10:44.30\00:10:49.18
it says, "I considered the horns
00:10:49.19\00:10:52.01
'that is the horns coming
out of this fourth kingdom.'
00:10:52.02\00:10:55.05
And, behold,
there came up among them
00:10:55.06\00:10:58.08
another little horn,
before whom there were
00:10:58.09\00:11:01.37
three other first
horns plucked up by the roots
00:11:01.38\00:11:03.22
and, behold, in this horn
were eyes like the eyes of man,
00:11:03.23\00:11:07.78
and a mouth
speaking great things."

Because of our
limitation of time

we can only see
that these little horn

is the very same power
found in Daniel Chapter 8,

there is the same little horn.

This little horn comes
upon the scene sometime

after the fall of Rome,
that would be 480 onward,

and this little horn is
said to have cast down the truth

to the ground and cast down
the sanctuary to the ground.

So, what we're looking
for in this little horn power,

this power that
the devil will use

is a power that would seek

to attack the
sanctuary, what sanctuary?

There was no earthly
sanctuary in the time of Rome.

There, the only sanctuary
was a heavenly sanctuary.

So we're looking for a power
that would attack the truth

being taught in
this heavenly sanctuary

or this heavenly blueprint.

So let's go ahead and see

what power
according to the word of God

would attack that
heavenly sanctuary,

and the answer is
absolutely amazing.

Satan would use the
Church of the Dark Ages

to attack these truths,

what God Has given us to
show us the path of salvation,

the devil would attack

So how did this happen?

Well, the Church of the
Dark Ages began to teach us

something called the
indulgence, the indulgence.

Now, what is that?

Basically it was, it
was, it was saying that,

the sacrifice of Christ which
is what Article of Furniture?

Which is that
Altar of Sacrifice.

The sacrifice of
Christ was not sufficient

for the forgiveness of sins.

To really capitalize on
the forgiveness of sins,

you have to pay? Money.

Money, so that your
sins could be forgiven.

Now this was
literally or, you might say

it was just reaching out
for that Altar of Sacrifice

and casting it
down to the ground

and replacing it with an
error with a counterfeit.

The Church of the
Dark Ages also taught
00:13:28.92\00:13:30.53
that the sacrifice of
Christ was not sufficient,

that one time
sacrifice was not sufficient,

and so they began another
teaching which basically said,

every time a priest
takes bread and prays over it,

it becomes the body of Christ.

Christ is being
sacrificed over and over again.

It nullifies the efficiency
of Christ's one time sacrifice.

This truth was
effectively cast down

and people lost sight of what

that Altar of
Sacrifice stood for you.

Not only did that happen,

but the same Church of
the Dark Ages also began

to attack that
Laver, which represents?

Baptism. Baptism, and
what did they began to teach?

sprinkling, sprinkle infant.

Sprinkling, that's right.

There was no need to ask

for the forgiveness
of sins any more because,

an infant can't ask

for forgiveness of sins.

do was to be sprinkled,

This Laver, the truth taught
by the Laver was cast down

By teaching that the
laity could not understand

priest or some teacher

And that caused people
to, you know, believe that

and so they stopped
going to the word of God.

That's right. It was all.

They would only go to a
priest and believe everything--

That priest said,
it's not personal study.

that cut the people
off from the word of God.

Satan was using this
power to cast the truth

down to the ground
to provide the people

with a counterfeit
GPS or path to salvation.

They also began to
teach that tradition

was more important
than the word of God.

And basically it
lowered the importance

of the word of God in
the eyes of the people.

Not only did the
same Church do that,

they also even set,
took that Altar of Incense,

which represents
prayer, our prayer to God

and cast it down,
