hardest things to do

way back to heaven

Let's look at Luke
Chapter 6 verse 12,

You know, as
we're turning there,

I remember recently hearing,

I won't
mentioned the person's name

but a very unpopular talk show

and they were talking about
00:08:34.08\00:08:35.31
how there are many paths to God.
00:08:35.32\00:08:37.72
And as we look at this GPS
00:08:37.73\00:08:39.71
and as we're
learning it more and more,

and we're seeing that,
00:08:42.38\00:08:43.35
that is not true. That's right.
00:08:43.36\00:08:44.85
There is only one path to God

and that's through
Jesus. That's right.

And it is a narrow path. Yeah.

We're told. You know,

we can't go to the
right or to the left,

we've got to stay
in this narrow path

and we're gonna see
that as we go along.

Because the Bible
describes the people

who will follow Jesus,

follow the Lamb with
us where ever He goes.

And what we're gonna
find is that this pattern

actually reveals
the way the Lamb went.

aspect of Christ's life.

earth to demonstrate

to us something godly.

To demonstrate to us
what a godly life was like.

And not only did He

but He also descended to show us

how to live a life of prayer.

In fact, He interceded for us.

He was just praying out
there just to be praying.

He came not only to shine light

but to also intercede for us.

So this sanctuary
what we're seeing so far,

is that it actually delineates

heaven on our behalf

and what He would
do in order to save us.

And it says that
He prayed all night.

I know as
Christians we think okay,

well, Jesus prayed all night

and that's what
He was called to do.

But really? I mean, we're all,

I mean there's times
we're struggling with things

and we want victory

and we're fine being
that our normal prayer

that we're doing our, you know,
00:10:36.06\00:10:37.75
maybe an hour in prayer daily,

on a daily basis,
it's just not working,

it's just not
giving us the victory

over that really tough,
00:10:43.68\00:10:45.11
hard thing that
we're struggling with.

And so I have found that

we've both been a part of all
night prayer meetings before,

and have personally spent
00:10:52.40\00:10:54.68
many many hours
at night in prayer,

when you're trying
to get victory over
00:10:57.21\00:10:58.60
something
you're struggling with.

And I think
Jesus did this not just
00:11:00.03\00:11:02.91
so that we could
see that He did it,

but to be our example.

I mean, He didn't
have any sin in His life,

we're filled with sin
and need to get victory.

And so how much
more do we need to pray,

the way Jesus prayed
and sometimes all night.

Jesus descends from His throne,

He comes to be the
light of the world,

He comes to show us
an example of prayer.

Jesus is speaking
to this woman at a well

and He's giving her salvation,

He's showing her
the Path of Salvation.

The disciples had gone

because you know
everyone was hungry,

so they had gone to get food

and when they come back,

Jesus seems to
be fully satisfied.

And I want you to notice

what He says in John 4 verse 31,

it says, "in the meanwhile

His disciples prayed
Him saying master eat."

Now remember, He's just
witnessing to this woman

I have meat to eat that is food,

not actually flesh, but food.

That's what the word meat means.

To share the bread of
life, in fact He said,

We also see that Christ Himself

was baptized on our behalf.

and Jesus when He

of the water and lo,

were opened unto Him.

And He saw the
spirit of God descending

like a dove and lighting

heaven and what is He doing?

which was also in Christ Jesus,

who thought of not
robbery to be equal with God

but humbled
himself and became obedient

even to the death of the cross.

In other words,
Christ left heaven,

not only did he leave heaven
and leave behind His glory

Baptism is a
symbol that one needs

to die and to be reborn again.

That's why when John
the Baptist saw Jesus
