That's right,

incredible concept
of a jury selection.

And in order to understand

that we are going to take
a look at the word of God.

And get a context
of this jury selection,

why it's necessary
and what it's all about,

right into the Bible,

And we're gonna start with
the Book of Ezekiel, Chapter 28

which is speaking about the
fall of Lucifer from heaven.
00:01:10.30\00:01:14.91
It's talking about his rebellion
00:01:14.92\00:01:17.06
and how he would
be ultimately judged.
00:01:17.07\00:01:20.99
So let's go ahead and pick up
reading from verses 14 and 15.
00:01:21.00\00:01:26.92
And verse 14 says,
00:01:26.93\00:01:28.91
"Thou art the
anointed cherub that covereth,
00:01:28.92\00:01:31.51
and I have set thee so,
00:01:31.52\00:01:33.28
thou wast upon the
holy mountain of God,
00:01:33.29\00:01:35.84
thou hast walked up and down
00:01:35.85\00:01:37.44
in the midst of
the stones of fire.
00:01:37.45\00:01:39.94
Thou wast perfect in thy ways
00:01:39.95\00:01:41.66
from the day that
thou wast created,
00:01:41.67\00:01:43.61
till iniquity
was found in thee."

The Bible here is describing
Satan as a covering cherub.
00:01:47.27\00:01:51.15
Now we learned in
our previous program
00:01:51.16\00:01:53.87
that a covering
cherub was an angel
00:01:53.88\00:01:56.86
that was found in
the very presence of God,
00:01:56.87\00:01:59.97
hovering over the very
throne of God if you will.

We recollect looking at
the Old Testament sanctuary,
00:02:04.19\00:02:07.43
seeing there that sanctuary
that God had given Moses to,
00:02:07.44\00:02:12.22
had instructed Moses to build,
00:02:12.23\00:02:14.23
was a miniature model
of his kingdom in heaven,
00:02:14.24\00:02:18.44
of his throne room in heaven.
00:02:18.45\00:02:20.75
And so as we look at this Ark
00:02:20.76\00:02:23.12
that was found in
the most holy place
00:02:23.13\00:02:25.59
was covered by a mercy seat.

All of this represented,

the mercy seat
represented God's throne.

The ark, the law upon
which that throne rested,

simply shown that the foundation

of God's throne
in heaven is his law.

On either side of this,

of this mercy seat
were two covering cherubs.

And the job of these angels,

if you were, was to protect
or reverence the law of God.

And so we see here that Lucifer
was one of these two angels

before he rebelled.

The Bible says, then that
inequity was found in him,

and we also saw that inequity
00:03:05.53\00:03:07.54
according to 1st
John Chapter 3 verse 4

is transgression of the law.
00:03:10.07\00:03:13.19
The very law that
Lucifer was to be defending,

he ends up turning against
and the Bible says as a result,

that there was war in heaven.

Now this brings us to
this issue of jury selection.

Because something very important
needs to be understood here.

Most people, a lot of people

when they read this
story about this rebellion
00:03:30.35\00:03:33.35
that took place in heaven.
00:03:33.36\00:03:34.46
The question will often come up,
00:03:34.47\00:03:36.00
why didn't God immediately judge
00:03:36.01\00:03:39.37
Lucifer like
right then and there.
00:03:39.38\00:03:41.32
Why didn't He just destroy
him right then and there?
00:03:41.33\00:03:43.80
And many people
have that question. Yeah.
00:03:43.81\00:03:46.46
Because they were if He would
have just destroyed him there,
00:03:46.47\00:03:49.83
then He wouldn't
have been able to come
00:03:49.84\00:03:52.64
and tempt us here
on earth. Exactly.

Like he tempted Adam and
Eve. Later on exactly. Right.

So we're gonna take a
look at another scripture

that's going to give us
insight into this question.

"If a false witness
rise up against any man

him that which is wrong.

Then both the men,
between whom the controversy is,

shall stand before the Lord,

before the
priests and the judges,

which shall be in those days.

And the judges shall make
diligent inquisition and behold,

if the witness
be a false witness

and hath testified
falsely against his brother.

Then shall ye do unto him,

Okay. So, this was a principle
that our God had given to Moses.

That whenever a controversy
came up between two parties,

there had to be a
third party if you will.
00:05:05.46\00:05:09.43
A jury that would
decide between the two parties.
00:05:09.44\00:05:15.44
Now that's a very
fair principle God lays out
00:05:15.45\00:05:19.75
for a very simple reason.
00:05:19.76\00:05:21.51
Let's say that
someone wanted to,
00:05:21.52\00:05:23.46
you know, take
you to court, Atonte.
00:05:23.47\00:05:25.46
And you said, all right,
I'll see you in court and,
00:05:25.47\00:05:29.26
you know, I know you don't even
a chance of winning the case.
00:05:29.27\00:05:32.99
You and the person go to court,
00:05:33.00\00:05:34.82
and the person is
sitting there in the courtroom
00:05:34.83\00:05:38.46
and he's excited
because he just knows that
00:05:38.47\00:05:40.45
he's got this case all sort out.
00:05:40.46\00:05:43.06
And when they say all rise,
because the judge is walking in,
00:05:43.07\00:05:46.60
to that person's horror,
00:05:46.61\00:05:48.15
they see you walking
in, you are the judge.
00:05:48.16\00:05:51.50
How fair would that be.
That would not be fair at all.

You know, that would
be unjust actually. Right.

For the person being accused to
sit as judge over the accuser.

There has to be a
third party. Right.

So as we lift this principle
that God had given to Moses,

and place that principle in
the context of the rebellion
00:06:10.91\00:06:14.37
that occurred in heaven.

We need to ask
ourselves a question,
00:06:15.99\00:06:17.42
how many sides were
there in this rebellion?
00:06:17.43\00:06:22.49
The Book of Revelation
Chapter 12 verses 7 through 9,
00:06:22.50\00:06:25.79
tells us about this war.
00:06:25.80\00:06:27.25
And it basically
divides it into two sides,
00:06:27.26\00:06:29.82
it says Michael and his angels
00:06:29.83\00:06:33.39
fought against the
dragon and his angels.
00:06:33.40\00:06:37.58
So how many
sides were there? Two.
00:06:37.59\00:06:40.12
Two sides and only two sides.
00:06:40.13\00:06:42.40
You were either
for God or against him,
00:06:42.41\00:06:44.71
for Lucifer or against him.
00:06:44.72\00:06:47.05
So you see here
there is a stale meat
00:06:47.06\00:06:49.72
that appears to be
taking place in heaven.

But there is something very key,

back in that
passage we read earlier,

Ezekiel, Chapter 28
towards the end of that passage.

I believe is verse 17,
God is speaking to Lucifer
00:07:01.92\00:07:06.76
and He says to him, "I
will cast thee to the ground,
00:07:06.77\00:07:11.31
I will lay thee before kings,
that they may behold thee."

Now every time I
think about this,
00:07:16.55\00:07:18.08
I like to use my imagination
and imagine Lucifer saying,
00:07:18.09\00:07:23.22
wait a minute,
lay me before kings,
00:07:23.23\00:07:24.90
by the way that
term to be laid before,
00:07:24.91\00:07:27.30
to be laid
before kings is a term
00:07:27.31\00:07:29.96
that is
synonymous with judgment.

It's as though God
was saying to Lucifer,

I'm going to have kings
judge you or behold you.
00:07:34.52\00:07:39.45
And so I can
imagine Lucifer saying,

wait a minute, who
you're gonna get to judge me
00:07:40.94\00:07:42.54
because don't you
see that all heaven
00:07:42.55\00:07:45.20
has been
polarized into two sides,
00:07:45.21\00:07:48.26
like who are you
going to get to judge me.
00:07:48.27\00:07:52.08
It was beyond at that time,
Lucifer or Satan's imagination.
00:07:52.09\00:07:57.24
Because they were no other...
00:07:57.25\00:07:58.26
Or understanding.
Right, or understanding.

That's right. Because
what we're going to find
00:07:59.80\00:08:01.81
is that God creates
as it were a third party,

a jury if you will.

Let's go over to
the Book of Genesis.

Genesis in fact, you know
what let's not go to Genesis,

let's go to the Book of
First Corinthians Chapter 6,

The Bible tells us something
absolutely amazing here.

Because you probably
guessed the answer already,

who would be that jury,
who would be that third party
00:08:30.59\00:08:34.57
that God would
use to judge Lucifer.
00:08:34.58\00:08:38.60

you, having a matter

against another go
to law before the unjust

and not before the saints?

saints shall judge the world.

And if the world
shall be judged by you,

are ye unworthy to
judge the smallest matters?

that pertain to this life?"

Amazing verse
First Corinthians 6:1-3

tells us that the saints
are going to judge the world
00:09:08.56\00:09:14.46
and the saints are
going to judge angels.
00:09:14.47\00:09:17.99
Now we know we're not
talking about heavenly angels
00:09:18.00\00:09:20.40
because they have
no need to be judged.
00:09:20.41\00:09:21.99
Right. We're talking
about those fallen angels.
00:09:22.00\00:09:25.02
That's right. It's an
amazing thought, Atonte,

that God, one of the reasons
that God created humanity
00:09:28.14\00:09:33.88
was to serve as jurors in
the Supreme Court of heaven.

I mean, what a call, what
a privilege to be able to,

to be invited to
serve in such an office.
00:09:44.13\00:09:47.47
Let's look at
another verse very quickly,
00:09:47.48\00:09:49.37
it's found in
Genesis Chapter 1 verse 26.
00:09:49.38\00:09:52.30
Because you'll
remember in Ezekiel 28,
00:09:52.31\00:09:55.03
the Bible says that,
00:09:55.04\00:09:57.45
that God was going to
lay Lucifer before kings.
00:09:57.46\00:10:02.11
In Genesis 1:26, when
God creates Adam and Eve,
00:10:02.12\00:10:05.86
the Bible says that -- it says.
00:10:05.87\00:10:08.54
"And God said, let us
make man in our image,
00:10:08.55\00:10:11.10
after our likeness
and let them have dominion
00:10:11.11\00:10:15.27
over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air,
00:10:15.28\00:10:17.67
and over the cattle,
and over all of the earth,
00:10:17.68\00:10:20.26
and over every creeping thing
that creepeth upon the earth."

Dominion, who is it
that has dominion but a king.

Adam and Eve
were created as kings

who were ultimately to
serve as judges in this crisis,

this conflict that
had unfolded in heaven.

In fact there's another verse in

Revelation
Chapter 1 verse 5 and 6.

Revelation
Chapter 1 verse 5 and 6
00:10:47.04\00:10:49.58
where the Bible
specifically tells us
00:10:49.59\00:10:53.78
that this was part of
Jesus' mission to make us kings,
00:10:53.79\00:10:58.14
it's Revelation
1:5 and 6 it says,
00:10:58.15\00:11:01.23
"And from Jesus Christ,
who is the faithful witness,
00:11:01.24\00:11:04.91
and the first
begotten of the dead,
00:11:04.92\00:11:06.96
and to the prince of
the kings of the earth.
00:11:06.97\00:11:09.59
And to him that
loved us, and washed us
00:11:09.60\00:11:11.82
from our sins in his own blood."
00:11:11.83\00:11:15.02
And has made us
what? Kings and priests.
00:11:15.03\00:11:19.64
'Unto God and his
Father, to him be glory
00:11:19.65\00:11:23.07
and dominion for ever and ever."

So we're clearly told here

that God desires
us to be those kings,
00:11:26.61\00:11:30.99
those priests that will
be called to serve jury duty.

And this is a
privilege. It's a privilege.

To be called to
serve in God's jury,

and just like here on Earth,
in our country I should say,

there is, there are
regulations and rules on
00:11:49.15\00:11:53.36
who can be selected
to be a part of a jury.
00:11:53.37\00:11:57.96
You cannot have any
knowledge of this crime

or be associated with
people who are involved.

Right. With this situation.

And it's amazing because,

as you look at
that characteristic,

having very limited
knowledge about the crime,

where was humanity when this
rebellion occurred in heaven.

We weren't even
created? We weren't created.

If you look at
the creation account,

there is no account of angels
00:12:22.14\00:12:23.68
being created in
during those six days.

So we know that
the angels were around

way before Planet
Earth was created.

So we fit the, we
fit the bill there,

as human beings who were not
around when the crime occurred.

There is another characteristic
that jurors must have

and that is that jurors
must be law abiding citizens.

So any people in
jail or in prison

right now cannot be jurors.

You have a criminal record,

it eliminates you
from being a juror.

And when God
created Adam and Eve,

in fact Romans Chapter
2 verse 15 speaks about

how the law has
been naturally written
00:13:07.02\00:13:10.45
on the hearts of mankind.

And so we know
that when Adam and Eve

were created in
their perfection,

they were law abiding
citizens of the kingdom of God.

So they weren't there
when the crime happened,

they were law abiding
citizens of a kingdom of God.

And we also know
that a juror is chosen

because he must have
sound discernment. Right.

Be able to discern between what?

And of course, Adam
and Eve were created

with this very
power to be able to

discern between good and evil.

And that's an interesting
point, Atonte, because

when Satan comes
to Eve in the Garden.

does he come to them?

Because he knows if these
are ones that are to judge me,

try to bribe the jury.

you've heard of that happening

maybe not so
much here in America,

but in other
countries where the jury

or those who are to
judge this person are bribed.

with money or whatever

to try to change the decision

that they were
originally going to make.

exactly and that's exactly

what we find Lucifer doing.

We find him basically okay,
if this is who is to judge me,

then I need to
disqualify this juror,

I need to make it so
that this jury is eliminated

from jury selection
and think about this.

What Satan is
really trying to do,

he doesn't want
his judgment to come.

So he is trying to eliminate
every juror, that's it.

He wants a hung jury if he will,

he wants a jury
that's been disqualified,

he doesn't want to be judged.

Because he knows
that sentence is coming.

And you know, he
is really not creative

if you think about
it because he saw that

his argument worked
with a portion of the angels.

beings and Eve fell for it.

to look at verse 4.

The Bible says here,
after Eve says to the serpent,

you know, God has said,
00:15:44.60\00:15:45.68
we cannot eat of the
tree or else we'll die.
00:15:45.69\00:15:48.20
The Bible says "And the
serpent said unto the woman,
00:15:48.21\00:15:50.39
Ye shall not surely die."
00:15:50.40\00:15:53.55
Verse 5 says "For
God doth know that
00:15:53.56\00:15:55.48
in the day ye eat thereof,
then your eyes shall be opened,
00:15:55.49\00:15:59.71
and ye shall be as
Gods, knowing good and evil."

Now, it's very interesting
here because the word Gods
00:16:06.99\00:16:10.78
is that the Hebrew
Elohim, and it means judges.

So it's almost as
though Lucifer is saying,

hey, you want to
be a real good judge,
00:16:17.35\00:16:19.94
eat from this tree and then
00:16:19.95\00:16:21.25
you will be a
really, really good judge.

You will really
know the difference
00:16:24.12\00:16:25.99
between good and evil,
00:16:26.00\00:16:28.65
but wait God had
already created them.

With that capacity.

To know the difference
between good and evil,

they knew that eating
from the tree was evil.

Because God said
so. Because God said so.

Not to eat of it. And
so Satan brides the jury.

He convinces Eve that
she is to eat from the tree.

And by the way, Satan
did not say to Eve, Eve,

would you like to be evil.

Eve would not have
fallen for that. Right.

He said, Eve, you can be
like God, you can be like God.

But you don't have to obey
Him in order to be like Him,

you can be like Him
without obeying Him.

It's the very same argument
he used on the angels in heaven.

speaking of the fall of Lucifer.

Lucifer said, "I will
be like the most High"

and what he meant by
that was I can be righteous

and holy all by myself.

I don't need a law to tell
me how to be righteous and holy.

And so that same argument
that deceived the angels

in heaven into thinking yeah,

God doesn't have the
market on righteousness,

you know, we can be righteous
and still do our own thing,

we're free moral agents.

And if we're really
free, why do we need a law?

That very same
argument he uses on Eve.

And Eve, the
Bible says when she saw

that the tree was good for food,
00:17:56.61\00:17:59.24
and that's
another amazing thing.

Because the tree
was not good for food.
00:18:00.50\00:18:02.57
God had said, it
was not going for food.

But after she listened to Satan,
her view of things changed.

And you know not
only was Satan successful
00:18:10.65\00:18:13.67
in using this trick on the
angels in heaven and on Eve.

But this is what he is
daily attempting to do with each
00:18:18.40\00:18:21.73
and everyone of us everyday.

And when we give Satan an ear,
00:18:23.72\00:18:26.96
because Eve was
listening to him first,

it starts to sound
good to us and our judgment

or discernment starts to change
00:18:34.26\00:18:35.92
and it is possible
without the power of God

to make the wrong decision.

But the point is, don't give
Satan an ear to hear his words.

That's right. We can learn a
lot from this particular portion

of scripture because
it is revealing to us

how Satan works.

How he operates.

He tells us that we don't need
to do exactly what God says.

We can still be good,
we can still be righteous.

We can be all right
and do something opposite

from what God says.

And there is a danger
in that because many people

are falling for this
deception of self-righteousness.

Self sanctification and again,

not until we see this conflict
and how it unfolded in heaven

its implications
for us here on Earth.

Like God has
called me to be a juror.

He's called you to be a juror.

And so what is the
devil trying to do?

He is trying to eliminate you,

he is trying to
say to God, come on,

are you going to use this
guy, this girl as a juror,

they're not even
keeping your commandments.

They're not even following
your will, how can you use them.

This is exactly what
he says to Adam and Eve,

you know, once Adam and
Eve fall, it's like okay.

Were these the ones
that you're gonna use.

And so the question now
becomes what does God do?

Does God say,
well, Adam and Eve,

I wipe my hands
clean of humanity,

you know, you're no
good you're out of here.

What does he do?

By the way, before we
even answer to that question.

Another very
interesting point is,

just as when Satan was cast out,

because he rebelled
against the will of God.

He was cast out of heaven.

The very same thing
happens to Adam and Eve.

They sin, and
the Bible tells us in

Genesis 3 around verse 21 to 24

that God removes Adam
and Eve from the garden. Why?

Because they
rebelled against His will,
00:20:44.51\00:20:47.89
against the
foundation of His government.
00:20:47.90\00:20:52.58
And so it appears that
mankind has been trust out,

but God did not
just put them out,

He did something else.

He came into the
garden and the Bible says,

He gave us a
promise. That's right.

It's found in
Genesis Chapter 3 verse 15.

And it basically in a nutshell
states that one would come,

we know that one
to be the Messiah,

and the Messiah would ultimately
gain victory over Satan

and redeem
humanity, in other words...

Praise the Lord.

The whole purpose of
the gospel is to restore us
00:21:30.16\00:21:35.03
to being a law abiding
citizens of the kingdom of God,

who have sound
discernment and judgment.

And are able to
discern between good and evil.
00:21:45.10\00:21:48.86
That's the whole
purpose of the gospel.

God wants to restore us,
to the original creation.

And you know,
it's just so awesome

how Adam and Eve they did
go against the will of God.

And they did not believe in His,

I mean they did at a
point believe in his word,

but when Satan came and
tempted Eve to do what she did,

then they were no longer
following the will of God.

But then God had
already made away,

already had a plan on
how to restore them and us.

And that's the loving
kind God that serve. Exactly.

The Book of Romans Chapter
8 describes the carnal mind.

When Adam and Eve were created,
00:22:34.56\00:22:36.55
they were created
with a spiritual mind.
00:22:36.56\00:22:38.59
But when they sinned,
when they rebelled against God,
00:22:38.60\00:22:43.14
that was the birth as far as
00:22:43.15\00:22:45.18
humanity goes
of the carnal mind.
00:22:45.19\00:22:47.82
And the Romans Chapter 8
00:22:47.83\00:22:50.15
describes that carnal mind
to a tee, here's what it says,

Romans Chapter 8
verse 7 it reads,
00:22:55.20\00:22:59.53
"Because a carnal
mind is enmity against God,
00:22:59.54\00:23:04.43
for it is not
subject to the law of God,
00:23:04.44\00:23:08.19
neither indeed can be."
00:23:08.20\00:23:10.42
So look at the pattern, Lucifer
in heaven, a covering cherub,
00:23:10.43\00:23:15.02
standing over the law
of God or the Ark of God,
00:23:15.03\00:23:19.90
which is the
foundation of His throne.
00:23:19.91\00:23:21.85
Lucifer rebels against that law
and he has cast out of heaven.

God creates humanity in
part to serve as jurors,

in this trial
between God and His angels

and the devil and His angels.
00:23:34.11\00:23:35.92
Satan sees are these are
the jurors who have to judge me.

He goes and he
bribes the jury to get them

to turn against the law of God,

and they too are
cast out of heaven.

Paul here in New
Testament writes,

the carnal mind,
if you want to know

if you have a carnal mind,
just go down the law of God.

And anyone of
those laws that you say,

I don't think I
need to keep that.

I can be like God, I
can be just like Jesus

and not keep that one,
that one doesn't matter.

At that moment, you know,

what mind you're operating
out of, it's the carnal mind.

Jesus has come to
restore in us a mind

that is subject to the
will and to the law of God.

Satan's battle is
the exact opposite.

He wants to
make us law breakers,

he wants to make us so
that we are confused about

what's good and
what's evil and you know,

we can look at society today.

And we can see
just how confused.

Wow! Society is
about good and evil.

And one of ways
that he is so successful

in doing this is keeping
us out of the word of God,

intense prayer life with God.

through true communion with God,

discern good and evil.

We're so many
thousands of years away from

perfect humanity and through

We as very difficult
for us a simple human beings

to be able to
discern, and that's why

we need to get to know Jesus
for ourselves through His word,

through an intense
prayer life with Him.

Yeah, it's
interesting and, you know,

you may be
sitting although watching

and just thinking
about all the things

you maybe seeing
in the news and how,

you know, things that are,

that you once thought were good,

our society is
now calling it evil.

Or things that
were obviously wrong.

Evil. Society is
saying, it's okay.

It's okay, it's good, there
is nothing wrong with that news

and if you say something
is wrong with that then.

You're in trouble.

You know, you're
in trouble watch out.

So the devil is flipping
this thing because he know,

he understands the high calling

that has been given to humanity.

He understands the high calling
that has been given to you.

I mean, it's like
we're walking around,

not realizing that God has
called us to serve as jurors.

Now we know that we
don't serve as jurors now,

that jury duty begins
at a time in the future.

And we're gonna deal
with that in a future program,

but suffice it to say
now that the entire conflict

that's going on right
now is simply about Satan

trying to eliminate the jurors.

And God trying to create jurors,

people who are law abiding,

who are discerning between
what's right and what's wrong.

And this is the
Gospel in a nutshell.

the reason Christ came,

this is why Christ
is calling us unto Him,

There are so many
distractions with media,

with just I mean not just media
with just busyness of life.

I mean even for us
Christians who are in ministry

just in doing ministry things.

We can sometimes get so busy

that we don't spend
the quality time with God

and we can also
become very confused

and not as discerning
as we should be as well.

That's right. And God
tells us pray for wisdom.

That's right. Because
we need it in this time.

Judges need to be
wise, jurors need to be wise,

and Satan who
was very wise himself

is seeking every possible
way to eliminate you as a juror.

to be a doctor or
you know even a pastor..

your ultimate purpose
is that you've been called

to fulfill the will of God.

And part of that is that
God is calling you to serve,

God is calling you to jury duty,
don't skip out on jury duty.
