Today is a story that we're gonna do that some of you and 00:00:19.71\00:00:25.35 many of you might know about but we want to bring some 00:00:25.38\00:00:28.81 significance, we want to open the Scriptures and maybe 00:00:28.84\00:00:31.71 in a little bit different way and it's about remembering. 00:00:31.74\00:00:34.23 "A Day To Remember. " So you need to get those Bibles of 00:00:34.26\00:00:38.55 yours out and we are going to start, where, Mark? 00:00:38.58\00:00:42.44 Because >> It start's >you were going to start this story 00:00:42.47\00:00:44.44 >>in Luke Chapter 10 >OK. Luke Chapter 10. Get those Bibles, if 00:00:44.47\00:00:48.60 you have them, open them. Luke Chapter 10. Before we start 00:00:48.63\00:00:51.05 want to have our prayer. But we'll go to Luke Chapter 10, 00:00:51.08\00:00:53.93 right now. >>Page 1226 of Luke Chapter 10, verse 38 is where 00:00:53.96\00:00:58.88 we're going to begin. >Would you like to have prayer? >>Yeah. 00:00:58.91\00:01:01.16 Why don't we pray? >OK >>"Heavenly Father we pray that 00:01:01.19\00:01:05.09 the Holy Spirit would be given us to give us understanding 00:01:05.12\00:01:08.19 now in this passage we study. >Amen 00:01:08.22\00:01:10.50 >>Father teach us the spiritual significance, teach us how 00:01:10.53\00:01:13.57 to apply what we learn here, so that we may be faithful 00:01:13.60\00:01:16.96 in all that we do >Hmm >>as we are followers of You, we ask and 00:01:16.99\00:01:22.09 pray this in the Name of Jesus. Amen. >Amen. OK. Luke Chapter 00:01:22.12\00:01:27.71 10. >>Luke Chapter 10 and verse 38 which right off I think our 00:01:27.74\00:01:31.74 Viewers would be familiar with the story but they may not 00:01:31.77\00:01:33.68 know it all, what it would have to do with remembering >OK 00:01:33.71\00:01:35.99 >>But we are going to get there. Luke 10 >OK >>verse 38 00:01:36.02\00:01:39.57 Now, what we want to talk about today, first of all is, the Day 00:02:20.97\00:02:24.38 to Remember being >OK >>the day God said to remember in his 00:02:24.41\00:02:27.06 Commandments and that is the Sabbath Day. >Right. >>You 00:02:27.09\00:02:29.66 know a lot of people Dwight, of course we've talked about 00:02:29.69\00:02:31.42 this before and we- we believe that- that the Seventh Day 00:02:31.45\00:02:35.15 Sabbath is something that God wants us to keep as Christians 00:02:35.18\00:02:38.15 and a lot of people miss the significance of the Sabbath and 00:02:38.18\00:02:42.79 sometimes people will say, "Well, you're going to keep 00:02:42.83\00:02:44.71 the Seventh Day Sabbath you know it's a legalistic 00:02:44.74\00:02:47.40 thing to do. It's just about you know works and your agenda 00:02:47.43\00:02:51.29 or just trying to be too particular" but what this story 00:02:51.32\00:02:55.60 does is it actually gives us a little bit more depth into 00:02:55.63\00:02:59.38 the reasons why we believe that Sabbath keeping is 00:02:59.57\00:03:02.66 important and maybe we ought to go back with when God- you 00:03:02.69\00:03:07.82 know of course in the Commandments said to remember 00:03:07.85\00:03:09.54 >Right. >>even prior to that when he gave instructions in 00:03:09.57\00:03:12.44 the wilderness to keep the Sabbath, he told his people to 00:03:12.47\00:03:17.17 do all of their preparation beforehand. It's got to be known 00:03:17.20\00:03:20.40 as the Preparation Day before the Sabbath. >That's right. 00:03:20.43\00:03:23.49 Right. >>because- because the Sabbath was a day where they 00:03:23.52\00:03:26.54 were to spend that day with God and what God wanted to do is 00:03:26.57\00:03:30.63 make sure all that unnecessary work was done so that he would 00:03:30.66\00:03:34.17 have that time, that undivided time with them and this is what 00:03:34.20\00:03:37.47 we are seeing in principle in the story of Mary and Martha. 00:03:37.50\00:03:40.08 Here comes Jesus to spend time with them, Martha is so 00:03:40.11\00:03:43.76 busy with everything else she has to do >And- and good things. 00:03:43.79\00:03:46.97 >>Yeah. >I mean, she's making the dinner, she's- she's- in- in 00:03:47.00\00:03:49.90 fact Martha gets quite upset. >>Yeah. >You know, she comes out 00:03:49.93\00:03:53.77 and rails on Jesus a little bit about you know, about Mary but 00:03:53.89\00:03:57.67 Mary wanted to rest in Christ so that- that's a good story. >> 00:03:57.70\00:04:01.69 That's right. Martha, you know Martha understood also. The 00:04:01.72\00:04:04.66 teaching of Christ also taught about the importance of being 00:04:04.69\00:04:07.05 diligent >Yes >>being a good worker >Yep >>and so Martha 00:04:07.08\00:04:10.43 thought for sure that Jesus would- would support him- her in 00:04:10.46\00:04:14.25 having Mary go in and help her work but what Jesus is drawing a 00:04:14.28\00:04:17.92 distinction of is that Mary was taking this brief opportunity, 00:04:17.95\00:04:22.40 I mean, how often did Jesus have time to come and just sit down 00:04:22.43\00:04:24.82 >Right. >>and spend time in this home >Yes >> and he was out 00:04:24.85\00:04:27.75 traveling about so Mary, she knew she could cook and clean 00:04:27.78\00:04:31.67 and anything else some other time but now was her time with 00:04:31.70\00:04:35.13 Jesus and this you know, and of course Jesus says you know, 00:04:35.16\00:04:38.41 "Martha, Martha you trouble yourself about all these 00:04:38.44\00:04:40.27 things. "They were all important things >Right >>but now is the 00:04:40.30\00:04:43.09 time that- that you should be spending focusing on you know, 00:04:43.12\00:04:47.60 be- being able to spend time with your Guest >Right. >>and 00:04:47.63\00:04:49.74 that's what I see Dwight in- in Sabbath keeping. 00:04:49.77\00:04:53.22 In the Biblical principle, Sabbath keeping, you know even 00:04:53.25\00:04:56.32 preparing beforehand and everything, is that when we 00:04:56.35\00:04:58.52 come to the Sabbath Day, it's our time with God >Absolutely 00:04:58.55\00:05:01.65 and I think you know for years, I mean, way before I was 00:05:01.68\00:05:06.74 born obviously but I think we- I think we argue as Christians 00:05:06.77\00:05:11.78 too much about things that we should be- we should be way 00:05:11.81\00:05:18.34 past. In other words, we argue over a day >>Uhh hmm >the 00:05:18.37\00:05:22.43 seventh day, the first day >> Yeah >and yet if we knew the 00:05:22.46\00:05:27.16 significance of the Sabbath >> Yeah >we'd be past the arguing 00:05:27.19\00:05:32.00 stages >>Yeah Yes, we wouldn't be past the > why would we want 00:05:32.03\00:05:33.33 to defend something, number one, that's not scriptural? 00:05:33.36\00:05:36.42 Why do we want to say it doesn't matter when 00:05:36.45\00:05:37.81 when Christ says it matters but >>Yeah >to me it's even great- 00:05:37.84\00:05:40.34 deeper than >>Yeah >that >>xxx >especially. The deep issue is 00:05:40.37\00:05:42.79 that we're- we're arguing over something and Satan wants us to 00:05:42.82\00:05:46.93 argue because when he divides us- us Christians, he wins >> 00:05:46.96\00:05:51.06 Yeah. >and so he loves it when he can get us Christians divided 00:05:51.09\00:05:55.32 and the thing with it, it's not about what you say, what I say 00:05:55.35\00:05:58.32 what the Baptist say, the Methodist say, the 00:05:58.35\00:06:01.40 Presbyterians, the Catholics, whatever, what is truth and- and 00:06:01.43\00:06:04.60 to me, what I really want to get across today is why- why is 00:06:04.63\00:06:08.96 the Sabbath so significant that we should remember it 00:06:08.99\00:06:13.16 because that's why sometimes we argue. "Well, you know, 00:06:13.19\00:06:15.52 I'll rest on my day, you rest on your day, we have our 00:06:15.55\00:06:17.60 same day of rest" >>Yes >but there is- it's-it's greater than 00:06:17.63\00:06:20.45 just resting physically. There is something about the Seventh 00:06:20.48\00:06:24.61 Day Sabbath that's-the reason it is the Seventh Day Sabbath >> 00:06:24.64\00:06:28.76 That's right >and- and that's why I think that- that I want 00:06:28.79\00:06:32.00 to get across, you want to get across today to the >>Yeah 00:06:32.03\00:06:33.78 Viewers because otherwise it's just one of the thing. "Well, 00:06:33.81\00:06:36.42 we can prove it in the Bible" and we can but I believe if- if 00:06:36.45\00:06:40.77 you can grasp the deeper significance of this Sabbath 00:06:40.80\00:06:44.96 rest, then- then you would be- be leaping heads and 00:06:44.99\00:06:49.61 shoulders above most people in the Christian World because 00:06:49.64\00:06:52.22 even I think, many Seventh Day Adventists and Seventh 00:06:52.25\00:06:56.33 Day Baptists >>Yeah >and Seventh Day Assembly of God, I mean, 00:06:56.36\00:06:58.79 there's a lot of Christians that go to Church on the Seventh >> 00:06:58.82\00:07:01.54 That's right. >Day Sabbath. >> The Jews went to Church on a 00:07:01.57\00:07:03.15 >The Church >>Saturday too > Yeah. That's right. >>The same 00:07:03.18\00:07:04.85 Church that crucified Christ > Absolutely >>and so > and- but 00:07:04.88\00:07:07.36 they- but they are losing the significance of the Sabbath. >> 00:07:07.39\00:07:10.45 Well, let's >the remember part >>Yeah, let's touch on one part 00:07:10.48\00:07:13.09 of the >OK >>in the Book of Genesis where God sets apart the 00:07:13.12\00:07:16.41 Sabbath Day, it says, that when God had finished his work of 00:07:16.44\00:07:20.31 creation, Verse 2. It wasn't any other day, in the Bible, 00:07:28.58\00:07:31.19 specific, not a seventh day, The Seventh Day >Right. >>Then it 00:07:31.22\00:07:33.23 says, verse 3 00:07:33.26\00:07:34.25 the King James says, 00:07:37.77\00:07:39.05 >and - and it means also to set apart>> that's right and the 00:07:43.25\00:07:45.83 way- what lot of people don't understand our 00:07:45.86\00:07:47.36 Viewers may not understand, is the 00:07:47.39\00:07:48.77 way God set things apart or made them Holy was with his 00:07:48.80\00:07:51.47 presence >Yes >>one of my- one of my favorite examples in my 00:07:51.50\00:07:54.58 mind, of course you have the- the burning bush >Yes >>where 00:07:54.61\00:07:57.14 Moses comes and God said, "Take the shoes off your feet 00:07:57.17\00:07:59.03 because the ground your on is Holy. "What do you mean, this 00:07:59.06\00:08:01.71 ground here is Holier than that ground? What made it Holier? 00:08:01.74\00:08:04.70 God's presence made it Holier >That's right 00:08:04.73\00:08:06.49 >>and one of my favorites is when during the rebellion of 00:08:06.52\00:08:09.18 Corah, 250 men and women brought their sensors, their golden 00:08:09.21\00:08:12.44 >That's right >>the men were consumed and then God says- you 00:08:12.47\00:08:15.93 know they were destroyed, for their pretentiousness and then 00:08:15.96\00:08:19.04 God says now, "I want you to gather up all of those sensors 00:08:19.07\00:08:21.46 because they are Holy now. " >Yes. >>They're Holy now. 00:08:21.49\00:08:24.33 Why? Because they came into the presence of God and so >Yes 00:08:24.36\00:08:26.68 >>when we talk about the Sabbath being Holy, what we are talking 00:08:26.71\00:08:28.60 about is that God's presence is there in a special measure on 00:08:28.63\00:08:32.10 that day. >That's exactly right and also that- that we get- 00:08:32.13\00:08:36.23 because we have to take a break here in a little bit but Friday, 00:08:36.26\00:08:40.16 the 6th day, was the Preparation Day >>That's right. 00:08:40.19\00:08:43.37 >which ushered in The Seventh Day Sabbath and I think 00:08:43.40\00:08:46.50 >>and the Bible tells us- of course according to the Bible 00:08:46.53\00:08:47.59 this day went from evening to evening >evening >>so Friday 00:08:47.87\00:08:49.58 evening to Saturday evening > Yeah. Friday evening to Saturday 00:08:49.61\00:08:51.67 evening but Friday before the Sun went down, you prepared 00:08:51.70\00:08:54.34 for the Sabbath. I mean how many people today, no matter what 00:08:54.37\00:08:58.90 Church you go to or people go to, prepares for their rest day? 00:08:58.93\00:09:03.46 >>That's right. >I mean, in fact, many people that go to 00:09:03.87\00:09:06.41 Christian Churches you know, they go to Church in the 00:09:06.44\00:09:08.64 morning, they go shopping in the afternoon, they watch their 00:09:08.67\00:09:10.46 football games, their basketball >>OK. 00:09:10.49\00:09:11.62 >it's like any other day excepting they aren't 00:09:11.65\00:09:14.30 working that day, it's- it's their job but everything else 00:09:14.33\00:09:17.68 is exactly the same and this Preparation Day to me has a 00:09:17.71\00:09:20.43 lot to do with remember. What- we're going- we're going to 00:09:20.46\00:09:24.86 get to, we gotta- the clock- you know I just heard 00:09:24.89\00:09:28.28 C D Brooks, Pastor C D Brooks say, "The Tyranny of time. " 00:09:28.31\00:09:31.67 >>Oh Yeah >and it seems like you never can beat that time 00:09:31.70\00:09:34.55 clock but we'll be right back, to get into the Preparation Day. 00:09:34.58\00:09:39.10 What it means to really remember. 00:09:39.13\00:09:40.97 How is that work in your life? What makes it significant? 00:09:41.00\00:09:45.41 Don't go away because we'll be right back. 00:09:45.44\00:09:47.96 >Hi. I'm Larry and I want to share something with you 00:09:50.95\00:09:53.14 that comes straight from Remnant Publications 00:09:53.17\00:09:55.32 and I am excited about it because it helped strengthened 00:09:55.35\00:09:57.60 my walk with God in a huge way and I know it will help you 00:09:57.63\00:10:00.79 too and it's this new Apple iPod. 00:10:00.82\00:10:02.96 It comes preloaded with a huge selection of 00:10:02.99\00:10:06.24 Remnants Audio Books. Let's take a closer look. >> 00:10:14.51\00:10:17.46 For 25 years, I've had such a burden to get people to get 00:10:17.49\00:10:22.02 truth filled Books in their Homes and I'm excited that 00:10:22.05\00:10:25.03 Remnant Publications now has Books on Audio and you 00:10:25.06\00:10:28.87 know what? You can listen to them in an airplane, you can 00:10:28.90\00:10:31.26 listen to them when you're driving to work and in fact 00:10:31.29\00:10:33.51 I was just talking to a good friend of mine, that told me 00:10:33.54\00:10:36.19 this, "Dwight, I just take my truck and I listen as I go 00:10:36.22\00:10:40.26 to work and when I shut off the truck, it's the first time 00:10:40.29\00:10:42.54 in years that I can remember, that I'd like to stay in the 00:10:42.57\00:10:45.09 truck and just keep listening to them. " Now as never before 00:10:45.12\00:10:48.67 people don't have to put it off, they can get the message, 00:10:48.70\00:10:51.29 the Word of God from their head to their heart. > 00:10:51.32\00:10:54.07 As small as these iPods are, you'll be amazed at the quality 00:10:54.10\00:10:57.22 of sound that comes from them. >> 00:10:57.25\00:10:58.55 We've taken extreme care in making these audio files as 00:10:58.58\00:11:01.93 true to their original quality as possible. From the voices 00:11:01.96\00:11:05.22 that you hear reading everything, to the music and the 00:11:05.25\00:11:08.17 sounds that you hear are just as beautiful as they should 00:11:08.20\00:11:10.60 sound. >Not only is the iPod easy to use but you can also do 00:11:11.09\00:11:15.50 so much more than a regular MP3 Player. 00:11:15.53\00:11:18.05 You can load it with iPod Apps, Calendars, Calculators, text 00:11:18.08\00:11:23.22 versions of Bibles and you can put all sorts of Apps. 00:11:23.25\00:11:26.05 The sky's the limit. >> 00:11:26.08\00:11:27.25 I have to admit that I thought that there would be many who 00:11:27.28\00:11:30.49 are intimidated by Technology that would be afraid to try 00:11:30.52\00:11:33.11 this new tool but when people see how easy it is to use, they 00:11:33.14\00:11:37.14 typically end up a happy user. Usually they take it out of 00:11:37.17\00:11:40.65 the box, plug in your headphones, go into the book you 00:11:40.68\00:11:43.07 want to read and you're listening. It really is that 00:11:43.10\00:11:46.40 easy. >We realize there is some people who already have their 00:11:46.98\00:11:50.21 own iPods or MP3 Players and that's also why we have also 00:11:50.24\00:11:53.53 made these Books available on Flash Drives, like this one. 00:11:53.56\00:11:56.27 People can easily copy the files from this small drive 00:11:56.30\00:11:59.67 to their own MP3 Player. >> 00:11:59.70\00:12:01.27 I am so excited about this new technology but it's not the 00:12:02.82\00:12:06.60 technology that makes it so special, like Mom used to say, 00:12:06.63\00:12:09.64 "It's what's on the inside that matters most" and this iPod is 00:12:09.67\00:12:12.56 no exception. Check this out. > 00:12:12.59\00:12:13.99 >>The new fully loaded iPod has being such a blessing to me 00:12:29.39\00:12:32.76 and many others and Remnant wants it to be a blessing 00:12:32.79\00:12:36.13 to you too. >You can have all this in your daily devotions to 00:12:36.74\00:12:39.32 prepare you and your Family for the Second Coming. 00:12:39.35\00:12:42.40 Be equipped to face the future with God's powerful message 00:12:42.43\00:12:46.96 of faith and hope for today. >> 00:12:46.99\00:12:49.39 Russians Officials accepted the Vatican credentials of 00:12:49.42\00:12:54.52 Archbishop Antonio Mennini as the first ever 00:12:54.55\00:12:57.43 Papal Nuncio to Russia. The event ushers in a new era 00:12:57.46\00:13:01.69 of full diplomatic relations between The Holy See and 00:13:01.72\00:13:05.59 The Russian Federation. Pope Benedict XVI and 00:13:05.62\00:13:09.00 President Dmitry Medvedev had agreed to establish full 00:13:09.03\00:13:12.82 diplomatic relations in December of 2009, 00:13:12.85\00:13:16.22 after they met at the Vatican. "The purpose of this diplomatic 00:13:16.25\00:13:20.18 Cooperation is for the moral growth of the people of Russia," 00:13:20.21\00:13:24.01 said Mennini. That would certainly include 00:13:24.04\00:13:27.16 enforcement of Sunday worship, eventually. 00:13:27.19\00:13:29.77 In Revelation 13:3, the Bible says that, 00:13:29.80\00:13:33.38 "All the World wondered after the beast. " 00:13:40.07\00:13:42.66 I'm Hal Mayor, reminding you to keep the faith. 00:13:42.69\00:13:46.29 >OK. I'm glad that you stayed with us and again we get these 00:14:54.62\00:14:59.51 little breaks and we can talk off camera about things that 00:14:59.54\00:15:02.05 we've been discussing but we- we want to offer this book 00:15:02.08\00:15:06.10 "A Day To Remember. " 00:15:06.13\00:15:07.47 I wrote this, and you know what? This doesn't 00:15:07.50\00:15:09.90 even get close to answering nearly all the questions and 00:15:09.93\00:15:13.00 we can't do it today but it can get you started. We are 00:15:13.03\00:15:15.90 going to offer it to you for free and all you have to do 00:15:15.93\00:15:18.50 is- is order it from our Website, you can call us, you 00:15:18.53\00:15:24.03 know, just get with us and we'll give- and you know what 00:15:24.06\00:15:25.75 another thing, these Books, Pastor Mark, are- we made 00:15:25.78\00:15:29.46 these Booklets so that people could get them out, "Like the 00:15:29.49\00:15:31.65 leaves of autumn" you know >>Yeah 00:15:31.68\00:15:32.97 >don't- when you get it and you're happy with this Book 00:15:33.00\00:15:35.34 make sure that >>What we call that, the convenient pocket 00:15:35.37\00:15:38.74 size, >Yeah >>right. So one way or another, I have "Oh, here's a 00:15:38.77\00:15:42.30 Booklet >That's right >>that I have on that subject > 00:15:42.33\00:15:43.75 Absolutely >>thank you for handing out >and I think we have 00:15:45.48\00:15:48.51 them in packs of 25 so you know, this is for a free offer. If you 00:15:48.54\00:15:50.20 like it, let's get the Word out. That's what we're supposed 00:15:50.23\00:15:53.15 to be doing as Christians >>that's right 00:15:53.18\00:15:54.55 >letting people know and then of course more importantly 00:15:54.58\00:15:56.86 even more than that is we need to be living it but now let's 00:15:56.89\00:15:59.58 get back into this deal. I want to talk about probation. I want 00:15:59.61\00:16:03.85 to talk about the Seventh Sabbath in a different way 00:16:03.88\00:16:05.86 than most people. It's not just about keeping a day Holy, 00:16:05.89\00:16:08.77 >>Uhh hmm >that's vitally important, God sanctified it, 00:16:08.80\00:16:11.64 which we can't do. People say, "Well, I want to basically give 00:16:11.67\00:16:16.38 every day to God. "Well, we should- we are supposed to give 00:16:16.41\00:16:18.29 every day to God but the Bible we can't sanctify a day 00:16:18.32\00:16:20.84 >>No and the Bible also says, "There are 6 working days" 00:16:20.87\00:16:23.33 >Yes. >>You- so there is >Yeah, I don't know about you, you can 00:16:23.36\00:16:26.74 keep them all but I gotta be working that day and we just 00:16:26.77\00:16:29.12 need to be in Christ everyday but there is a lot into that but 00:16:29.15\00:16:31.98 now, you know, the Lord gave us the Seventh Day Sabbath for more 00:16:32.01\00:16:36.95 than to just rest because every people work 7 days a week 00:16:36.98\00:16:39.69 >>That's right. >for years. They are not dying, sure it helps us 00:16:40.25\00:16:43.48 physically but there is something that helps, everything 00:16:43.51\00:16:45.66 that Christ has done, he has done for our- for the plan of 00:16:45.69\00:16:49.43 Salvation >That's right >and The Seventh Day Sabbath is 00:16:49.46\00:16:51.40 vitally important. I mean it's big in that. You know what? In 00:16:51.43\00:16:55.52 the Old Testament you tilled the land for 6 years >>Uhh hmm 00:16:55.55\00:16:59.29 > I mean, think about it, you tilled and the 7th year, you let 00:16:59.32\00:17:01.93 that land the rest. >>Yeah 00:17:01.96\00:17:03.59 >OK. So Christ created the Earth in 6 days, that's why 00:17:03.62\00:17:07.06 this evolution stuff is ridiculous. If you believe in 00:17:07.09\00:17:10.08 Christ, if you're Christian, there is no way, as a Christian, 00:17:10.11\00:17:13.98 if you believe in the Bible that you can try to think that 00:17:14.01\00:17:17.34 maybe this was created, the Earth was millions of years 00:17:17.37\00:17:20.65 first, it's not even physically possible, it can't be dark you 00:17:20.68\00:17:24.59 know a million years and we can all stay alive but without 00:17:24.62\00:17:27.91 getting into that, Christ created the earth in 6 days. 00:17:27.94\00:17:30.55 He rested on the seventh, for our benefit >>Uhh hmm 00:17:30.58\00:17:33.04 >then he told the people, till the land for 6 years, let 00:17:33.07\00:17:35.77 it rest the 7th year. Then He says, "There is going to be 00:17:35.80\00:17:38.84 6 thousand years of sin and they were going to have a 00:17:38.87\00:17:41.53 thousand years of" what? >>the millennium > 00:17:41.56\00:17:42.86 "the millennium. " Which people gets mixed up in this rapture 00:17:43.36\00:17:45.56 thing too >>Yeah >which we'll talk about some but if you look 00:17:46.08\00:17:48.16 all through the Bible, 6 is significant, it's a Preparation 00:17:48.19\00:17:52.29 Day and you know, Seventh Day Adventists know about the 00:17:52.32\00:17:56.40 Preparation Day. I remember when I was growing up before I 00:17:56.43\00:17:59.75 left the Church and then I came back but, we would- Deb and I, 00:17:59.78\00:18:03.22 you know Deb normally but it was funny, I remember watching 00:18:03.25\00:18:06.42 her one time, sundown was going to be down, one day, it was from 00:18:06.45\00:18:09.37 sundown to sundown, the days, through the Bible, and so she is 00:18:09.40\00:18:12.88 vacuuming the floor really fast. she's just whipping 00:18:12.91\00:18:14.53 around like this and you know she's looking at her watch, 00:18:14.56\00:18:16.65 "Oh man! I've got to work and work. " She was busy and >>Yes 00:18:16.68\00:18:19.13 >and the next thing you know, instead of walking over and 00:18:19.16\00:18:20.83 unplugging the plug. She gives that thing a fling and 00:18:20.86\00:18:24.36 you know it comes bounce- flying at her and she ducks >> 00:18:24.39\00:18:27.29 Yeah >and then she hurries up and grabs it, don't even- she 00:18:27.32\00:18:29.52 doesn't even wrap it up, no time, throws the thing, the 00:18:29.55\00:18:32.41 vacuum sweeper in the closet and shuts the door and "Huh!" Now 00:18:32.44\00:18:36.86 >>Yeah >is that a real Preparation Day? >>No. not 00:18:36.89\00:18:40.23 really. >I mean, really that's not the way it is. Preparation 00:18:40.26\00:18:44.16 Day signifies that we get sin out of our lives and >> Isn't 00:18:44.19\00:18:48.36 that >we work 6 days >>isn't that what one Pastor called the 00:18:48.39\00:18:50.36 kind of like the stop light preparation, you know, where 00:18:50.39\00:18:53.51 you're- you're driving down the road and you get stopped by the 00:18:53.54\00:18:56.07 light, you've got to be somewhere and you, "Ahh, oh no! 00:18:56.10\00:18:58.70 I got caught by the light. Oh come on, come on, come on" and 00:18:58.73\00:19:02.15 you drum your fingers on the steering wheel >Yeah >>and- and 00:19:02.18\00:19:04.07 instead of enter- entering into the Sabbath where- it's you're- 00:19:04.10\00:19:06.79 you're glad it came >Yes 00:19:06.82\00:19:07.98 >>you're almost disappointed it came because you've got so 00:19:08.01\00:19:10.26 much to do and then you can't- and then when the- you know when 00:19:10.29\00:19:12.88 the Sabbath is over and you know you come to Saturday and 00:19:12.91\00:19:15.34 the Sun's down and it's like, "Ahh!" You know, now the light 00:19:15.37\00:19:17.88 turn green and I can go again. 00:19:17.91\00:19:18.91 >I can go again and it's like- it's a- it's a- it's not, it's a 00:19:18.94\00:19:20.99 >>and unfortunately I know a lot of Seventh Day Adventists who 00:19:21.31\00:19:23.00 keep Sabbath that way. >Yep. It's a holiday >>which really 00:19:23.03\00:19:25.03 isn't Sabbath keeping. It's just Saturday keeping. >Right 00:19:25.06\00:19:27.75 and- and- and I say a holi- a holiday instead of a Holy Day 00:19:27.78\00:19:31.79 >>Yeah >and so, here is this Preparation Day that we're 00:19:32.00\00:19:35.11 supposed to have worked 6 days and that 6 days that God has- 00:19:35.14\00:19:39.37 represents as your working. You worked those 6 days, >>Uhh hmm 00:19:39.40\00:19:44.27 >you've have- you'd tilled the land for 6 years. >>Yeah 00:19:44.30\00:19:46.75 >In fact I used to wonder where was this 6 hundred years? 00:19:46.78\00:19:49.59 You've got, God created the Heavens and the Earth in 6 00:19:49.62\00:19:52.37 days, he's rested on the seventh>>Yes 00:19:52.40\00:19:53.37 >You've got, God says, "Till the ground >>Yes 00:19:53.52\00:19:56.35 >for 6 years and let it rest 1 year >>Yes 00:19:57.01\00:19:59.00 >then you have got 6 thousand years of sin, there's a work on 00:19:59.56\00:20:04.63 this Earth, then there is a thousand years in Heaven >>Yes 00:20:04.66\00:20:07.77 >won't get into that but it's a rest. Where did this 6 hundred 00:20:07.80\00:20:10.17 years go? Do you know that Adam was around 622 years old 00:20:10.20\00:20:14.70 when Anik was born? And Anik was a first fruit. 00:20:14.73\00:20:17.82 Anik walked with God and went to Heaven. In other words, 00:20:17.85\00:20:20.50 there was a rest at the end of that 600 years. It's all 00:20:20.53\00:20:23.03 through the Scriptures of the 6 days that God is telling us 00:20:23.06\00:20:28.20 you've got time to get your heart right with me. "Pickup 00:20:28.23\00:20:31.64 your cross and follow me" and so when we go to Preparation 00:20:31.67\00:20:34.84 Day we should realize that not only should we be ready 00:20:34.87\00:20:37.40 to rest, in other words, we shouldn't be able- we shouldn't 00:20:37.43\00:20:41.07 be going up to that stop light and squealing our tires because 00:20:41.10\00:20:44.45 we know we can't make the yellow light >> Yeah 00:20:44.48\00:20:45.87 >and we stop. Christ is trying to get to us. Listen. 00:20:46.66\00:20:49.69 It- the ones that are going to go to Heaven, are not just 00:20:49.72\00:20:52.51 good people. The ones that are going to Heaven 00:20:52.54\00:20:54.82 are resting in me. In other words, they've surrendered all 00:20:55.31\00:20:58.55 they have to me. There is nothing between my Savior and 00:20:58.58\00:21:02.01 me >>Hmm >and that 6 days that God created the Heavens and the 00:21:02.04\00:21:05.17 Earth represents that, the- the Preparation Day. I mean, we're 00:21:05.20\00:21:08.18 we shouldn't even have, I mean, Pastor Mark, if I have 00:21:08.21\00:21:11.36 something against you and it's Friday the Preparation Day, 00:21:11.39\00:21:15.29 should I let that sun set before I make that right with you? 00:21:15.32\00:21:20.10 >>No. Not at all >and why would that be? 00:21:20.13\00:21:22.02 What significance is that about The Seventh Day? 00:21:22.05\00:21:24.84 What- what is this all telling us? It's steeper than just 00:21:24.87\00:21:27.73 having a holiday here. 00:21:27.76\00:21:29.25 >>Yeah. The whole idea is- well it seems to be, and this whole 00:21:29.28\00:21:32.58 discussion is that we- we are missing the substance >Yeah 00:21:32.61\00:21:35.81 >>of the Sabbath and the substance of the Sabbath is 00:21:35.84\00:21:39.42 Christ. >Yes >>In other words, that was time that he- Christ 00:21:39.45\00:21:43.22 was the one who created. The Bible makes it clear. "All 00:21:43.25\00:21:44.54 things >Yes >> were made by him, without him was nothing made 00:21:44.57\00:21:46.46 that was made. "He was the one who created in 6 days and 00:21:46.49\00:21:49.33 then on the seventh day rested. >That's right 00:21:49.36\00:21:50.73 >>and he set aside a day to spend with his people and so 00:21:50.76\00:21:55.64 it- it, I mean, you know, you take a year- when we- we, back 00:21:55.67\00:21:57.95 when you were dating >Yes >>you had a day coming up and you're 00:21:57.98\00:22:00.42 going to spend with your you know, your lovely Wife, back 00:22:00.45\00:22:02.84 then you're- you're girlfriend >Yes >>you know she's coming 00:22:02.87\00:22:05.02 Over. Well, you don't want to be busy >No 00:22:05.05\00:22:07.64 >>with everything else you've got going on. You're going to 00:22:07.67\00:22:09.82 make sure that you've got all your work done. She is 00:22:09.85\00:22:11.71 >She gets my undivided attention. 00:22:11.74\00:22:12.79 >>Exactly and- and when- and when you have that focus >Yes 00:22:12.82\00:22:17.58 >>that she's coming over then all the work that you have to 00:22:17.61\00:22:20.34 get done isn't a burden and neither is the time you've got 00:22:20.37\00:22:22.87 to take off, you are not like, "Ahh. Man you know I was helping 00:22:22.90\00:22:25.45 mowing the lawn. I had to stop and I go sit down with her for 00:22:25.48\00:22:27.90 a while. " >Yes. Got to take a shower and clean up >>Yeah 00:22:27.93\00:22:30.12 >Oh what a bomber >>It was a pleasure to be with her >That's 00:22:30.76\00:22:32.38 right, that's right and see what's happening I think for a 00:22:33.21\00:22:34.45 lot of people is they've lost the significance of the Mary and 00:22:34.48\00:22:37.26 Martha story. Mary was 00:22:37.29\00:22:39.14 with Jesus, that's what the Sabbath is about. Coming and 00:22:39.17\00:22:42.24 spending that time with Jesus. Undivided time and if we have 00:22:42.27\00:22:46.20 that focal point we- we won't have to be told to prepare. 00:22:46.23\00:22:50.14 >That's right. >We'll want to prepare because when that day 00:22:50.17\00:22:53.04 comes, That's his day. That's the time I'm spending with him. 00:22:53.07\00:22:55.99 >I- I- I can share from my own experience and to the Viewers 00:22:56.02\00:23:00.28 that are watching right now that when I started 00:23:00.31\00:23:02.80 understanding the significance of The Seventh Day Sabbath 00:23:02.83\00:23:05.30 and- and I hear people arguing all the time over the day 00:23:05.33\00:23:09.42 which is vitally important but we are still on milk and I 00:23:09.45\00:23:15.32 started realizing that Jesus wants me to rest in him 00:23:15.35\00:23:19.11 and he is created the day to allow us to realize that the 00:23:19.14\00:23:23.77 Sabbath is a- a culmination, it's the- it's the prize. It's 00:23:23.80\00:23:29.02 the end result of resting, working and work- the working 00:23:29.05\00:23:33.07 part, I mean, look at the Children of Israel came out of 00:23:33.10\00:23:35.58 Egypt and they had that sanctification process. We know 00:23:35.61\00:23:39.53 that there is sanctification. You cannot- you cannot be 00:23:39.56\00:23:43.29 justified without a second part which- which is sanctification 00:23:43.32\00:23:47.30 Uhh hmm >which means that once Jesus justifies us, just as 00:23:47.33\00:23:50.88 though we have never sinned. There is that sanctification 00:23:50.91\00:23:53.50 process which means that, day after day, I say, "Lord not my 00:23:53.53\00:23:58.10 will but your will be done" like Paul said, "I die daily" >>Uhh 00:23:58.13\00:24:00.39 hmm >and he lets that go, I- I mean, not let it go but he- he 00:24:00.42\00:24:05.19 let's his own self go and he get draws closer and closer 00:24:05.22\00:24:08.08 which is the work. It's a daily process >> Uhh hmm >and then on 00:24:08.11\00:24:12.26 Friday which represents the close of probation. Probation is 00:24:12.29\00:24:16.71 going to come it says, in Revelation, suddenly without 00:24:16.74\00:24:19.38 warning. It says, "The righteous will get righteous still, the 00:24:19.41\00:24:22.54 wicked, wicked still" and if you and I are not preparing every 00:24:22.57\00:24:25.45 single day if we just go through our- our work week and we work 00:24:25.48\00:24:29.45 and we get upset, we get angry and we have no time and we- we 00:24:29.48\00:24:33.61 come to that stop light Sabbath that, "Oh we've gotta have the 00:24:33.64\00:24:36.30 Sabbath >>xxx xxx >we- we are never going to have the 00:24:36.67\00:24:38.84 rest in Christ. >>No. We carry all those burdens right into 00:24:38.87\00:24:41.79 the Sabbath. >Right in the Sabbath. 00:24:41.82\00:24:42.97 >>It is interesting, in the Book of Isaiah, 58, this is what it 00:24:43.00\00:24:45.92 says in- this is page 850 in the Study Bible >Isaiah 58 00:24:45.95\00:24:49.63 >>Isaiah 58, verse 13, it says, 00:24:49.66\00:24:51.47 notice the 'if,' it's a condition 00:24:52.16\00:24:53.59 the imagery is "You're trampling my Sabbath" >Yes 00:24:56.44\00:24:58.19 In other words, don't divide your attention >>Right 00:25:09.54\00:25:11.19 give me your attention, then you shall delight yourself 00:25:11.22\00:25:14.77 in the Lord >Amen >>You know, we'll- we delight ourselves, 00:25:14.80\00:25:17.98 we're not going to find the delight in the Sabbath until we 00:25:18.01\00:25:21.12 turn away from doing our pleasure and dividing our 00:25:21.15\00:25:23.04 attention and we give God all of our attention on His Holy Day. 00:25:23.07\00:25:25.68 >And- now, and- and- I- such a burden for you- you that 00:25:25.71\00:25:32.67 are watching right now because I know, I wish, sometimes I 00:25:32.70\00:25:35.35 say I wish I could speak in the Heavenly Canaan Language >>Yes 00:25:35.38\00:25:37.71 but I- I can't, but I pray that- I know the Holy Spirit can 00:25:38.73\00:25:40.90 work upon your hearts. Probation is going to close 00:25:40.93\00:25:45.18 Jesus is coming very soon 00:25:45.21\00:25:47.55 and we are arguing sometimes over things that in and of 00:25:47.58\00:25:54.09 themselves are important but our heart is still not right with 00:25:54.12\00:25:56.33 Jesus Christ >>That's right 00:25:56.36\00:25:57.90 >and my plea to you today is, are you right with Christ? 00:25:57.93\00:25:59.94 Are you- are you learning, in the 6 days that God gave you 00:25:59.97\00:26:03.53 to work, a Preparation Day that represents the probation will 00:26:03.56\00:26:07.69 close and that everything needs to be out of our life that 00:26:07.72\00:26:10.87 keeps us connected. You know, Moses looked to the left, he 00:26:10.90\00:26:14.53 look to the right and then he slayed the Egyptian. He never 00:26:14.56\00:26:17.56 kept his eyes on Jesus Christ. Our thing is, we're so busy 00:26:17.59\00:26:20.87 reading the left and right, we might be keeping a day Holy. 00:26:20.90\00:26:23.36 I don't care if it's Sunday or Saturday, the point of just 00:26:23.39\00:26:26.19 trying to keep a day holy but it becomes a holiday. 00:26:26.22\00:26:28.50 Jesus gave us the right day to worship because probation is 00:26:28.53\00:26:32.89 going to close on time, it's not going to say, "Well, probation 00:26:32.92\00:26:34.71 just might close any old time. " >>That's right 00:26:34.74\00:26:37.11 >Probation's gonna close on time. The Sabbath rest 00:26:37.14\00:26:39.48 is for you and I to always remember that he's with us, 00:26:39.51\00:26:44.72 every single day. He wants you and me and Pastor Mark to be 00:26:44.75\00:26:49.89 in the heavenly Kingdom.
