" 00:00:56.88\00:00:59.09 Well, sometimes we don't look at what leads up to it and 00:00:59.12\00:01:01.35 That's right. 00:01:01.38\00:01:02.35 today, we're going to do that in the story 00:01:02.36\00:01:03.33 Let's find out 00:01:03.34\00:01:04.31 of David 00:01:04.32\00:01:05.29 Yeah. 00:01:05.30\00:01:06.27 OK. Well, good. Before we start, I want you 00:01:06.28\00:01:07.25 to get your Bibles and turn them to its, 2nd Samuel. 00:01:07.26\00:01:11.62 OK. 2nd Samuel. 00:01:12.09\00:01:13.89 I think, What is that? Is that Chapter 11? 00:01:13.92\00:01:15.44 Chapter 11 00:01:15.47\00:01:16.44 2nd Samuel, Chapter 11, and go ahead. 00:01:16.45\00:01:19.75 Page 368, if you're using the Remnant Study Bible. 00:01:19.78\00:01:22.66 OK, that's it. 00:01:22.69\00:01:24.03 368 with the Remnant Study Bible 00:01:24.06\00:01:25.96 and at Chapter 11, and it states here 00:01:25.99\00:01:28.91 in the beginning of my Bible here, 00:01:28.94\00:01:30.37 "David Bathsheba and Uriah" 00:01:30.40\00:01:33.49 and we're going to be talking about that 00:01:33.52\00:01:35.18 but before we get going, hopefully you've got your Bibles 00:01:35.21\00:01:38.24 already. If not, just pause with me a minute 00:01:38.27\00:01:40.90 and Pastor, would you have a Word of Prayer before we start? 00:01:40.93\00:01:43.03 You know, 00:01:43.06\00:01:44.03 Certainly 00:01:44.04\00:01:45.01 we have a Word of Prayer, we've shared this before 00:01:45.02\00:01:45.99 but we want God to open our minds up, it's not about what 00:01:46.00\00:01:49.86 we think. It's about what God says and that your minds might 00:01:49.89\00:01:52.92 be opened up. You should always pray before you study the 00:01:52.95\00:01:56.50 Scriptures that and ask God to open that mind up, that the 00:01:56.53\00:01:59.01 Holy Spirit would enlighten you on truths, so 00:01:59.04\00:02:01.27 That's right. The disciples on the road to Emmaus 00:02:01.30\00:02:03.64 the Bible says that Jesus appeared to them 00:02:03.67\00:02:05.61 and they didn't perceived things, 00:02:05.64\00:02:07.26 and then he opened their understanding. 00:02:07.29\00:02:09.62 Yes. 00:02:09.65\00:02:10.62 That's what we want, is our understanding opened 00:02:10.63\00:02:11.60 Yes 00:02:11.61\00:02:12.58 so we understand what God is trying to say to us. 00:02:12.59\00:02:14.04 Very good. 00:02:14.07\00:02:15.06 OK. 00:02:15.09\00:02:16.30 So let's pray. 00:02:16.33\00:02:17.30 Father in Heaven, we just thank you 00:02:17.31\00:02:18.83 that You have condescended to send Your Son to us, 00:02:18.86\00:02:23.88 to give us the written Word, to give us evidences of Your 00:02:23.91\00:02:27.21 love that we may understand Your will and Your ways 00:02:27.24\00:02:29.04 and we just pray Lord as we study this story, 00:02:29.07\00:02:31.59 in the Old Testament, that You would help us to understand 00:02:32.85\00:02:36.04 how it applies to us today 00:02:36.07\00:02:37.30 Umm hmm, Amen 00:02:37.33\00:02:38.30 and to practically apply it to our own experiences. 00:02:38.31\00:02:41.73 We ask and pray it in Jesus Name. Amen. 00:02:41.76\00:02:44.57 Amen. Thank you, Pastor. 00:02:44.60\00:02:45.64 OK, let's get right into it. Chapter 11 and 00:02:46.12\00:02:49.09 No, actually, even before 11. 00:02:49.12\00:02:50.67 OK 00:02:50.70\00:02:51.67 Maybe a little bit of background on what's happening here. 00:02:51.68\00:02:53.44 There was a King in- King of the Ammonites who had- 00:02:53.95\00:02:58.33 you know, of course they were enemy of Israel. 00:02:58.36\00:03:00.01 Right. 00:03:00.04\00:03:01.01 For a time but then they- 00:03:01.02\00:03:02.13 Is- Israel made peace and David, actually, was on good terms 00:03:02.16\00:03:05.18 with the Ki- King of the Ammonites. 00:03:05.21\00:03:06.85 but he passed away and his Son came to the throne 00:03:06.88\00:03:09.35 OK 00:03:09.38\00:03:10.35 and so David, in a gesture of goodwill, 00:03:10.36\00:03:11.92 sent Ambassadors to the Son basically to say, 00:03:11.95\00:03:14.80 "Hey, we want to have the same kind of peace that we've had 00:03:14.83\00:03:17.11 with your Father and we're supportive of you," 00:03:17.14\00:03:18.84 and this, that, and the other. 00:03:18.87\00:03:19.84 Well, when his Son received these Ambassadors, 00:03:19.85\00:03:23.43 he- he took these men and he had their robes cut off 00:03:23.46\00:03:26.36 mid- midsection so he- so he basically, they were naked from 00:03:26.39\00:03:30.34 the waist down and then he shaved off half of their beards, 00:03:30.37\00:03:33.46 really just to shame them 00:03:33.49\00:03:35.08 Yes 00:03:35.11\00:03:36.08 and sent them away that way 00:03:36.09\00:03:37.06 as a way- when he sent them back to basically say, 00:03:37.07\00:03:39.58 "This is what we think of your" 00:03:39.61\00:03:40.70 and I think in the Scriptures, one thing they were so ashamed 00:03:40.73\00:03:43.16 that David or whoever let them 00:03:43.19\00:03:44.16 They didn't even go home. 00:03:44.17\00:03:45.19 Yeah, they let them stay somewhere 00:03:45.23\00:03:46.49 till they grew that beard back out. 00:03:46.52\00:03:47.49 That's right. 00:03:47.50\00:03:48.47 What a deal? 00:03:48.48\00:03:49.45 That's right. And so naturally, Israel went and retaliated 00:03:49.46\00:03:54.42 and in fact, the King of the Ammonites knew 00:03:54.45\00:03:57.60 that was going to happen. 00:03:57.63\00:03:58.60 I mean, it was almost like, "Hey come fight us. " 00:03:58.61\00:04:00.18 Yes. 00:04:00.21\00:04:01.18 and so they went into league 00:04:01.19\00:04:02.93 with the Syrian soldiers and Israel when they went to battle, 00:04:02.96\00:04:06.24 they- they- of course, they- they thought- the Ammonites 00:04:06.27\00:04:09.08 thought that Syrians would protect them. Well, the Syrians 00:04:09.11\00:04:11.48 were wiped out in no time. 00:04:11.51\00:04:12.61 Yes 00:04:12.64\00:04:13.61 But they- they came into a season 00:04:13.62\00:04:14.65 of the year and you need to understand this, 00:04:14.68\00:04:16.24 our Viewers need 00:04:16.27\00:04:17.24 to understand that in the fall of the year, 00:04:17.25\00:04:18.44 there were heavy rains in the fall and the winter, 00:04:18.47\00:04:21.05 and it made it very hard on chariots, horses, 00:04:21.08\00:04:23.51 Yes 00:04:23.54\00:04:24.51 that kind of thing. 00:04:24.52\00:04:25.49 and so, it was typically, it was not the season for warfare. 00:04:25.50\00:04:27.68 If they are in a middle of a war, they would back off 00:04:27.71\00:04:29.77 of the battle and they would resume it in the spring. 00:04:29.80\00:04:31.70 and that's 00:04:31.73\00:04:32.70 Yes 00:04:32.71\00:04:33.68 where we're coming to, 00:04:33.69\00:04:34.66 where the Syrians have been defeated and now the Ammonites 00:04:34.67\00:04:35.64 are left, and they're a small number. 00:04:35.65\00:04:38.70 David doesn't figure there's going to be any problem with it, 00:04:38.73\00:04:41.28 and so we pick up in Chapter 11 in verse 1 00:04:41.31\00:04:43.46 OK 00:04:43.49\00:04:44.46 which tells us that, 00:04:44.47\00:04:45.44 So right there you know, they- they- when Israel resumes the 00:05:02.77\00:05:06.92 battle 00:05:06.95\00:05:07.92 I see some problems already. 00:05:07.93\00:05:08.90 Yeah, David figures, "Hey, it's not enough- big enough battle 00:05:08.91\00:05:10.86 Yeah 00:05:10.89\00:05:11.86 for me. 00:05:11.87\00:05:12.84 Worry with- we've already wiped out the Syrians, it's just the 00:05:12.85\00:05:13.82 Ammonites, we've got a good hold on this. We've taken their 00:05:13.83\00:05:17.45 strongholds. " "We'll just- this'll be easy"and so he sent 00:05:17.48\00:05:20.94 out his soldiers. 00:05:20.97\00:05:21.94 " Take a- I'm going to take a little 00:05:21.95\00:05:22.92 vacation. " 00:05:22.93\00:05:23.90 and "takes a little vacation," kicks his feet up 00:05:23.91\00:05:25.24 there in Jerusalem and this is what the Bible says in 00:05:25.27\00:05:26.85 Verse 2, 00:05:26.88\00:05:27.85 Evidently, his rooftop was higher than the 00:05:36.33\00:05:38.63 Yeah 00:05:38.66\00:05:39.63 others around 00:05:39.64\00:05:40.61 being in the palace. 00:05:40.62\00:05:41.59 and- and- and what a sad, sad story about one of the best 00:06:02.48\00:06:08.00 Kings 00:06:08.03\00:06:09.00 That's right. 00:06:09.01\00:06:09.98 that Israel ever had, King David. 00:06:09.99\00:06:11.76 So let's- I guess, let's flush that out so 00:06:11.79\00:06:13.93 You know 00:06:16.12\00:06:17.09 this 00:06:17.10\00:06:18.07 Number 1 00:06:18.08\00:06:19.05 conquest with 00:06:19.06\00:06:20.03 the Ammonites really had brought Israel into 00:06:20.04\00:06:21.01 its zenith practically 00:06:21.02\00:06:22.98 Yeah 00:06:23.01\00:06:23.98 I mean, they- everybody was tribute to Israel 00:06:23.99\00:06:25.60 so this was at the height of David's Empire. 00:06:25.63\00:06:28.08 Yes. 00:06:28.11\00:06:29.08 and like you said, he was 00:06:29.09\00:06:30.06 a faithful man of God and this was at the height of his 00:06:30.07\00:06:32.81 experience. 00:06:32.84\00:06:33.81 Yeah. 00:06:33.82\00:06:34.79 And- and- and so therefore, guess what? 00:06:34.80\00:06:36.59 He relaxed. 00:06:36.62\00:06:37.68 That's right. 00:06:37.71\00:06:38.68 Have you ever played a game, any of you ever played a game 00:06:38.70\00:06:40.81 out there, I've- I've played racquet ball or basketball 00:06:40.84\00:06:43.98 before but you're way ahead and then you relax. 00:06:44.01\00:06:46.20 because you want to beat somebody too bad 00:06:46.23\00:06:47.57 and then you relax just a little bit 00:06:47.60\00:06:50.12 and you're ahead, I mean, you've got the game. 00:06:50.15\00:06:51.85 I mean, it's like, "I only need like 00:06:51.88\00:06:53.06 I only 00:06:53.09\00:06:54.06 two more" 00:06:54.07\00:06:55.04 I can't even see how you have that problem. 00:06:55.05\00:06:56.02 Well, I've had that problem. 00:06:56.03\00:06:57.00 I'm on the other end 00:06:57.01\00:06:57.98 Are you? 00:06:57.99\00:06:58.96 I've had that problem and I thought "Well, I want to be a 00:06:58.97\00:06:59.94 nice guy. " and- and you know what? 00:06:59.95\00:07:00.92 They beat me! 00:07:00.93\00:07:01.90 They beat me because why? Because I relaxed. 00:07:01.91\00:07:03.61 Yeah. 00:07:03.64\00:07:04.61 I thought, well, I've got 00:07:04.62\00:07:05.59 so many points ahead, no way, 00:07:05.60\00:07:07.01 I could beat them with my eyes closed so I'm going to let them 00:07:07.04\00:07:09.79 come up a little bit. And once you relax 00:07:09.82\00:07:12.30 There's the old story, the Tortoise and the Hare you know. 00:07:12.33\00:07:13.88 Yeah, you cannot do it. 00:07:13.91\00:07:15.14 and David relaxed. You know, like you said, 00:07:15.17\00:07:18.28 they was- it was at the height of- of you know, of his 00:07:18.31\00:07:22.97 Kingdoms, he had everything going for him. 00:07:23.00\00:07:24.30 and it says there that he stayed back but 00:07:24.33\00:07:27.24 At that time when Kings go to battle, David 00:07:29.41\00:07:31.51 Yes 00:07:31.54\00:07:32.51 was the King. 00:07:32.52\00:07:33.49 Yes, that's right. 00:07:33.50\00:07:34.47 but David wasn't where David needed to be 00:07:34.48\00:07:35.45 That's it 00:07:35.46\00:07:36.43 and as a result, you know, if he was, none of the 00:07:36.44\00:07:38.29 rest of this would happen. 00:07:38.32\00:07:39.31 and I think something else too if David 00:07:39.34\00:07:41.66 Now, I'm reading in between lines here. 00:07:43.44\00:07:45.15 Yes. 00:07:45.18\00:07:46.49 but because- because I'm looking at human nature. 00:07:46.52\00:07:48.20 Uhh hmm 00:07:48.23\00:07:49.20 but it's so often when we think we're spiritual 00:07:49.21\00:07:54.92 and many times, we don't think we're spiritual 00:07:54.95\00:07:58.10 because of the Bible that we read 00:07:58.13\00:08:00.81 or the quiet time that we have. 00:08:00.84\00:08:02.63 We're spiritual because of the blessings that God has given us. 00:08:02.66\00:08:05.60 Hmm 00:08:05.63\00:08:06.60 and I know that's happened with me. 00:08:06.61\00:08:07.68 I mean, even at Remnant, I mean, God has blessed Remnant 00:08:07.71\00:08:10.30 in so many ways. 00:08:10.33\00:08:11.98 I mean, we're on 3ABN and God has blessed 3ABN in so many 00:08:12.01\00:08:16.30 ways, and other Ministries in so many ways. 00:08:16.33\00:08:18.37 but we as- as Leaders of these Ministries cannot say, 00:08:18.40\00:08:23.17 "Well, look at what God has blessed. " 00:08:23.20\00:08:24.69 "You know, we've- we've got this Bible that we put out. " 00:08:24.72\00:08:27.18 "We're- we're doing all sorts of things" 00:08:27.21\00:08:28.74 "God has tremendously blessed. " 00:08:28.77\00:08:30.21 and if I'm not careful Pastor, I kind of let my guard down. 00:08:30.87\00:08:35.50 Uhh hmm 00:08:35.53\00:08:36.50 because instead of staying humble 00:08:36.51\00:08:38.59 Now I don't go around bragging, "Oh, look at all I've done," 00:08:38.62\00:08:40.87 because it's all God. 00:08:40.90\00:08:41.87 I know that and I won't say, "Look what Dwight's done. " 00:08:41.88\00:08:44.18 I will say, "By God's grace, look at what He has done. " 00:08:44.21\00:08:47.00 "through me. " 00:08:47.03\00:08:48.00 but psychologically, we can let down and we can think, 00:08:48.01\00:08:52.77 "Wow! Look at the great things that God has done. " 00:08:52.80\00:08:55.17 Right 00:08:55.20\00:08:56.17 and we- and when we say that 00:08:56.18\00:08:59.49 we start falling right then. 00:08:59.98\00:09:02.06 Even though more blessings can come 00:09:02.09\00:09:05.74 we're already in the way, in the dumpster. 00:09:05.77\00:09:08.09 and David- and David had- had- had humbled himself before God 00:09:08.12\00:09:12.68 in all these other battles. 00:09:12.71\00:09:14.29 You know, like Goliath, before he ever got started, 00:09:14.32\00:09:16.74 and now, he's at the height of his Empire. 00:09:16.77\00:09:19.80 He sees all the blessings. He's wealthy. 00:09:19.83\00:09:22.19 He's got lots of wives and concubines. 00:09:22.22\00:09:25.17 He's got chariots. He's got everything that he desires 00:09:25.20\00:09:27.89 and guess what? It's all from God. Which is true. 00:09:27.92\00:09:29.99 Yeah. 00:09:30.02\00:09:30.99 but he takes his eyes off of God 00:09:31.00\00:09:32.76 and puts him- and starts thinking. 00:09:32.80\00:09:35.27 He's now back from battle, look at all these stuff. 00:09:35.30\00:09:37.41 He probably goes out on his- on his roof, 00:09:37.44\00:09:39.46 we don't know for sure. 00:09:39.49\00:09:40.54 We know he went out on his roof. 00:09:40.57\00:09:41.58 He goes out on his roof and says, 00:09:41.61\00:09:42.92 "Wow. Look at all this. " 00:09:42.95\00:09:45.55 and now he sees this 00:09:46.13\00:09:47.64 Sees something he doesn't have. 00:09:47.67\00:09:49.20 He sees something he doesn't have. Beautiful! 00:09:49.23\00:09:51.48 Yeah. 00:09:51.51\00:09:52.48 That he doesn't have. 00:09:52.49\00:09:53.46 Even though he has lots of other women. 00:09:53.47\00:09:54.79 and we'll get into that, again, in the next- in the next part. 00:09:55.59\00:09:59.41 But be thinking is- if God is blessing, 00:09:59.44\00:10:02.72 it doesn't mean just because God blesses that- 00:10:02.75\00:10:06.40 in- in ways that you think that he's blessing, 00:10:06.43\00:10:08.23 doesn't mean that you personally are blessed. 00:10:08.26\00:10:09.96 That's right. 00:10:09.99\00:10:10.96 So we'll come back 00:10:10.97\00:10:12.06 I- Sometimes I hate these breaks but we need to have them 00:10:12.44\00:10:14.76 Yeah 00:10:14.79\00:10:15.76 but we'll be right back right after this. 00:10:15.77\00:10:17.03 So don't go away. 00:10:17.06\00:10:18.03 Have you ever noticed how some people 00:10:20.29\00:10:22.33 have a way of making cool stuff look easy? 00:10:22.36\00:10:24.72 As if they were born doing it! 00:10:24.75\00:10:26.45 but ask anyone of them and they'll tell you 00:10:26.48\00:10:28.44 that it took them a lot of hard work and dedication. 00:10:28.47\00:10:31.02 Sometimes, they even fall 00:10:31.05\00:10:32.70 but a winner gets up and keeps going. 00:10:32.73\00:10:35.31 Well, did you know that our walk with God is just like that? 00:10:35.34\00:10:38.38 We have to practice and be dedicated 00:10:38.41\00:10:40.66 if we want a close walk with God 00:10:40.69\00:10:42.14 and one day, we won't just be walking with God, 00:10:42.17\00:10:45.03 we'll be soaring with Him! 00:10:45.06\00:10:46.58 Hi. " 00:11:47.07\00:11:48.32 Now as never before, people don't have to put it off. 00:11:48.35\00:11:51.95 They can get the message, the Word of God, 00:11:51.98\00:11:54.21 from their head to their heart. 00:11:54.24\00:11:56.46 As small as these iPods are, 00:11:56.49\00:11:57.98 you'll be amazed with the quality 00:11:58.01\00:11:59.16 of sound that comes from them. 00:11:59.19\00:12:00.38 We've taken extreme care 00:12:00.41\00:12:01.99 in making these audio files 00:12:02.02\00:12:03.60 as true to their original quality as possible. 00:12:03.63\00:12:06.14 From the voices that you hear reading everything, 00:12:06.17\00:12:08.70 to the music and the sounds that you hear 00:12:08.73\00:12:10.64 are just as beautiful as they should sound. 00:12:10.67\00:12:12.87 Not only is the iPod easy to use 00:12:12.90\00:12:16.18 but it can also do so much more 00:12:16.21\00:12:18.14 than a regular MP3 Players. 00:12:18.17\00:12:20.38 You can load it with iPod Apps, Calendars, Calculators, 00:12:20.41\00:12:24.79 text versions of Bibles. 00:12:24.82\00:12:26.24 You can put all sorts of Apps, the sky is the limit. 00:12:26.27\00:12:29.28 I have to admit that I thought that there would be 00:12:29.31\00:12:31.72 many who are intimidated by technology 00:12:31.75\00:12:33.86 that would be afraid to try this new tool. 00:12:33.89\00:12:36.10 But when people see how easy it is 00:12:36.13\00:12:38.41 to use, they typically end up a happy user. 00:12:38.44\00:12:40.83 You literally take it out of the box, 00:12:40.86\00:12:42.92 plug in your headphones, 00:12:42.95\00:12:43.92 point at the Book you want to read, 00:12:43.93\00:12:45.66 and you're listening. 00:12:45.69\00:12:46.68 it really is that easy. 00:12:46.71\00:12:48.94 We realized there's some people 00:12:48.97\00:12:51.11 who already have their own iPods or MP3 Players, 00:12:51.14\00:12:53.80 and that's why we've also made these Books available 00:12:53.83\00:12:56.34 on Flash Drives like this one. 00:12:56.37\00:12:58.34 People can easily copy the files 00:12:58.37\00:13:00.33 from this small drive to their own MP3 Player. 00:13:00.36\00:13:03.12 I am so excited about this new technology 00:13:04.71\00:13:07.63 but it's not the technology that makes it so special. 00:13:07.66\00:13:10.11 Like Mom used to say, "It's what on the inside that matters 00:13:10.14\00:13:13.27 most" and this iPod is no exception. 00:13:13.30\00:13:14.72 Check this out. 00:13:14.75\00:13:15.72 The new fully loaded iPod has been such a blessing 00:13:31.48\00:13:34.13 to me and many others. 00:13:34.16\00:13:35.53 and Remnant wants it to be a blessing to you too. 00:13:35.56\00:13:38.05 You can have all this in your daily devotion 00:13:38.68\00:13:41.07 to prepare you and your Family 00:13:41.10\00:13:43.05 for the second coming. 00:13:43.08\00:13:44.53 Be equipped to face the future 00:13:44.56\00:13:46.87 with God's powerful message of faith and hope for today. 00:13:46.90\00:13:51.38 Russian Officials accepted the Vatican credentials 00:13:55.06\00:13:57.79 of Archbishop Antonio Mennini 00:13:57.82\00:13:59.88 as the first ever Papal Nuncio to Russia. 00:13:59.91\00:14:02.72 The event ushers in a new era of full diplomatic relations 00:14:03.36\00:14:07.27 between the Holy See and the Russian Federation. 00:14:07.30\00:14:10.01 Pope Benedict The 16th and President Dmitry Medvedev 00:14:10.04\00:14:14.09 had agreed to establish full diplomatic relations 00:14:14.12\00:14:17.76 in December of 2009, after they met at the Vatican. 00:14:17.79\00:14:21.40 "The purpose of this diplomatic cooperation 00:14:21.43\00:14:24.14 is for the moral growth of the people of Russia," 00:14:24.17\00:14:27.12 said Mennini. 00:14:27.15\00:14:28.45 That would certainly include 00:14:29.18\00:14:30.96 enforcement of Sunday worship eventually. 00:14:30.99\00:14:33.17 In Revelation 13:3, the Bible says that, 00:14:33.20\00:14:36.64 "All the World wondered after the beast. " 00:14:36.67\00:14:39.15 "All the Nations will support and worship 00:14:39.18\00:14:41.73 the Papal Religious Power that will dominate the World 00:14:41.76\00:14:44.94 in the last days. " 00:14:44.97\00:14:46.26 I'm Hal Mayer, reminding you to keep the faith. 00:14:46.29\00:14:49.52 OK. I'm glad that you stayed with us. 00:15:01.48\00:15:03.11 Now we just left off before our break 00:15:03.14\00:15:05.65 where David was at ease, prosperity, 00:15:05.68\00:15:08.39 at the height of his Kingdom. 00:15:08.42\00:15:09.58 and Pastor, you would think 00:15:09.61\00:15:12.21 that with all the wives and concubines 00:15:12.24\00:15:14.19 that he already had, he would be fine. 00:15:14.22\00:15:16.71 Because the Bible says, in 1st Timothy Chapter 6, verse 6 00:15:16.74\00:15:20.23 that, "Godliness with contentment is a great gain. " 00:15:20.26\00:15:23.64 Yes 00:15:23.67\00:15:24.64 In other words, we should be content 00:15:24.65\00:15:25.69 with what God gives us but with this ease and prosperity, 00:15:25.72\00:15:28.49 and this lack, probably of communing with God, 00:15:28.52\00:15:30.97 like Moses to begin with, before he went out in the wilderness 00:15:31.00\00:15:33.72 He looked left, then he looked to the right. 00:15:33.75\00:15:35.92 He never looked at Christ, 00:15:35.95\00:15:37.16 he did his own thing. 00:15:37.19\00:15:38.16 He slayed that Egyptian. 00:15:38.18\00:15:39.35 and David was looking to the left, 00:15:39.38\00:15:41.13 "Oh, look at that over there. The beautiful sea. " 00:15:41.16\00:15:43.32 "Oh, look over here. " 00:15:43.35\00:15:44.43 and then he said, "Oh! Look at that beautiful lady. " 00:15:44.46\00:15:47.05 He never looked at Jesus. 00:15:47.08\00:15:48.68 and- and I think that's exactly what's 00:15:48.71\00:15:51.01 going to happen in the end of time. 00:15:51.04\00:15:52.11 Don't you? 00:15:52.14\00:15:53.11 Well you know, I absolutely do. 00:15:53.12\00:15:54.19 In fact, there's a passage here. 00:15:54.22\00:15:55.46 I want to come back to those 00:15:55.49\00:15:56.46 OK 00:15:56.47\00:15:57.44 concubines and wives because- 00:15:57.45\00:15:58.42 OK 00:15:58.43\00:15:59.40 because you know, some of our viewers may think that 00:15:59.41\00:16:00.58 that was OK because it was in the Bible. 00:16:00.61\00:16:02.47 Yeah 00:16:02.50\00:16:03.47 You know, "Well, David did it. " 00:16:03.48\00:16:04.45 Yeah, well, David did some other things he shouldn't have done. 00:16:04.57\00:16:06.92 and this particular idea of his prosperity 00:16:06.95\00:16:09.97 in his Kingdom, it makes me think 00:16:10.00\00:16:12.03 of a passage in the Book of Daniel, you know 00:16:12.06\00:16:13.14 OK 00:16:13.17\00:16:14.14 This is- this is Daniel Chapter 8 00:16:14.15\00:16:17.15 and I'm going to be looking at Verse 25. 00:16:17.84\00:16:21.47 That's page 1018 in the Remnant Study Bible. 00:16:21.50\00:16:24.44 and it's speaking of the anti-Christ power at the end 00:16:25.11\00:16:26.40 of time, 00:16:26.43\00:16:27.40 OK 00:16:27.41\00:16:28.38 through whom the Devil's really working 00:16:28.39\00:16:29.36 to deceive the World. 00:16:29.37\00:16:30.34 and it says, 00:16:30.35\00:16:31.32 Hmm 00:16:41.64\00:16:42.61 and we could go over so many places in the Bible. 00:16:42.62\00:16:45.34 I think of Baal Peor, when the Children of Israel 00:16:45.37\00:16:47.37 came to the borders of Canaan 00:16:47.40\00:16:48.70 and the Devil overtook them there 00:16:48.73\00:16:50.38 once again with sexual immorality 00:16:50.41\00:16:52.23 because Baal Peor was a place like 00:16:52.26\00:16:54.54 it was a little tropical paradise. 00:16:54.57\00:16:56.01 Yes 00:16:56.04\00:16:57.01 Palm trees and what have you. 00:16:57.02\00:16:57.99 and the people got comfortable there 00:16:58.00\00:16:59.83 and they- they were at ease, and you know 00:16:59.86\00:17:02.60 It wasn't- it wasn't that time, they were just getting close 00:17:02.63\00:17:05.31 to going to the Promise Land? 00:17:05.34\00:17:06.31 Exactly 00:17:06.32\00:17:07.29 They've been 40 years, they've been out there struggling in the 00:17:07.30\00:17:09.48 wilderness. Now look at- we're just about ready. 00:17:09.51\00:17:10.91 That's right 00:17:10.94\00:17:11.91 and- and they felt good about themselves 00:17:11.92\00:17:12.99 and- and they- they disconnected themselves with Christ. 00:17:13.02\00:17:16.98 That's right. 00:17:17.01\00:17:17.98 They were on a spiritual high. 00:17:17.99\00:17:18.96 Yeah 00:17:18.97\00:17:19.94 and suddenly you think of Elijah 00:17:19.95\00:17:20.92 Elijah 00:17:20.93\00:17:21.90 on Mount Carmel 00:17:21.91\00:17:22.88 Yeah 00:17:22.89\00:17:23.86 Where you know, this great display of the power of God 00:17:23.87\00:17:24.84 and then he runs from Jezebel. 00:17:24.85\00:17:26.07 and so often times, the Devil hits us 00:17:26.10\00:17:27.84 when we are at a position of prosperity. 00:17:27.87\00:17:30.92 When things are going well, 00:17:30.95\00:17:32.51 when things are easy. 00:17:32.54\00:17:33.81 and I think about our World today 00:17:33.84\00:17:35.14 in light of this passage in Daniel, 00:17:35.17\00:17:37.56 here we are at the end of time. 00:17:37.59\00:17:38.56 What do we 00:17:38.57\00:17:40.13 Everybody spend 00:17:40.16\00:17:41.13 spend our time doing? 00:17:41.14\00:17:42.11 Yeah 00:17:42.12\00:17:43.09 Are we, you know, Jesus said when he went 00:17:43.10\00:17:44.07 to Heaven, He told His disciples, 00:17:44.08\00:17:45.05 "Occupy, till I come. " 00:17:45.06\00:17:46.03 Yeah 00:17:46.04\00:17:47.01 "Do business till I come. " 00:17:47.02\00:17:47.99 Right 00:17:48.00\00:17:48.97 "Stay busy. " 00:17:48.98\00:17:49.95 Right 00:17:49.96\00:17:50.93 "Don't be idle," because the old saying is, "Idle hands... " 00:17:50.94\00:17:51.91 "is a devil's workshop. " 00:17:51.92\00:17:52.89 Yeah 00:17:52.90\00:17:53.87 I know that's not in the Bible 00:17:53.88\00:17:54.85 but it might as well have been. 00:17:54.86\00:17:55.83 Yeah, Well we see the 00:17:55.84\00:17:56.81 the principle right here. 00:17:56.82\00:17:57.79 I see the in the story of David. 00:17:57.80\00:17:58.77 principle right here in the story 00:17:58.78\00:17:59.75 Yeah 00:17:59.76\00:18:00.73 of David. 00:18:00.74\00:18:01.71 Absolutely. That's right. 00:18:01.72\00:18:02.69 So- so anyways. 00:18:02.70\00:18:03.67 Now, we know that's going to happen in the end of time. 00:18:03.68\00:18:04.65 You know people, may be wanted to know before we get back here. 00:18:04.66\00:18:06.28 People are more and more selfish today. >Yeah. 00:18:09.05\00:18:10.02 You're seeing kids, when you see- go in stores 00:18:10.03\00:18:11.89 I mean, listen, when I went into a store, 00:18:11.92\00:18:13.98 I didn't- I didn't sit there and start crying and stomping my 00:18:14.01\00:18:17.30 feet because I wanted something. 00:18:17.33\00:18:18.66 and what Parents don't seem to realize 00:18:18.69\00:18:20.58 is that if we allow our Children to do- to do what they want 00:18:22.46\00:18:25.17 we're not helping them. 00:18:25.20\00:18:26.17 That's right 00:18:26.18\00:18:27.15 We're creating ease and prosperity, 00:18:27.16\00:18:28.57 we're not teaching them to look to the Lord 00:18:28.60\00:18:30.55 and- and usually, the more we don't have, 00:18:30.58\00:18:33.00 the more we depend upon God. 00:18:33.03\00:18:34.92 That's right 00:18:34.95\00:18:35.92 You know I thought I had a lot of faith. 00:18:35.93\00:18:36.90 When I sold our business, we had some money 00:18:36.91\00:18:37.92 when we sold it years ago now. 00:18:37.95\00:18:39.71 I- I thought I had a lot of faith. 00:18:40.79\00:18:42.97 but as that money started getting used up 00:18:43.00\00:18:44.70 in my bank account and it kept going down, and down, and down, 00:18:46.61\00:18:47.58 it just seemed like that all of a sudden 00:18:47.59\00:18:50.18 my faith started to waver. 00:18:50.21\00:18:51.48 because money wasn't coming in and 00:18:51.51\00:18:53.53 but you know what? 00:18:53.56\00:18:55.02 It kept me humble. That's right 00:18:55.88\00:18:56.92 and it kept my eyes on Jesus and not on my bank account. 00:18:56.95\00:19:01.11 That's right 00:19:01.14\00:19:02.11 and I think that sometimes we don't realize 00:19:02.12\00:19:03.62 that like David here 00:19:03.65\00:19:05.14 and David, the sad part about David is 00:19:05.17\00:19:07.53 he was the King, he knew better. He was to set an example. 00:19:09.74\00:19:11.07 I mean, what did this Guy do? 00:19:11.10\00:19:12.84 He ended up lying. 00:19:12.87\00:19:14.58 I mean 00:19:15.14\00:19:16.11 and- and- and something here too. 00:19:16.12\00:19:17.48 I- I think that we ought to read it, some 00:19:17.51\00:19:18.72 In Chapter 11 of 2nd Samuel, 00:19:19.73\00:19:21.56 in- in Verse 3. 00:19:21.59\00:19:23.18 Well- well, let's go to Verse 2. It says, 00:19:23.21\00:19:24.28 Well, he wasn't sleeping real well apparently. 00:19:29.61\00:19:31.09 So, I can understand he's the King 00:19:39.45\00:19:41.54 and he probably thought, "I wonder if she's married. " 00:19:42.96\00:19:44.49 Hmm 00:19:44.52\00:19:45.49 He didn't know who she was. 00:19:45.50\00:19:47.29 So he said, in Verse 3 it says, 00:19:47.32\00:19:48.95 What did he inquire about? 00:19:51.14\00:19:52.15 Let me add to that too, that the- for the sake of our Viewers 00:19:52.18\00:19:55.55 here. It was customary for the Kings of other Countries, 00:19:56.51\00:19:59.61 they could take whatever woman they want. 00:19:59.64\00:20:01.18 Yes. 00:20:01.21\00:20:02.18 and so there was that temptation for David 00:20:02.19\00:20:03.57 and it was justified. 00:20:03.60\00:20:04.57 Where it may have been wrong for the citizen, 00:20:04.58\00:20:06.03 it was right for the King 00:20:06.06\00:20:07.63 and so, David was- was- was drawn into that 00:20:07.66\00:20:11.51 and- and evidently, thinking that he was the King, 00:20:11.54\00:20:13.91 felt that he should have some privileges 00:20:13.94\00:20:15.50 that others didn't. 00:20:15.53\00:20:16.50 That's why he had all the wives and concubines 00:20:16.51\00:20:18.09 which God did not endorse. 00:20:18.12\00:20:19.85 Approve of for anyone 00:20:19.88\00:20:21.18 but- but he was merciful in spite of it. 00:20:21.21\00:20:23.34 Yes 00:20:23.37\00:20:24.34 and- and it still wasn't enough for David. 00:20:24.35\00:20:26.69 It wasn't enough because- because 00:20:26.72\00:20:27.96 he took his eyes off of Christ, and it says 00:20:27.99\00:20:32.48 here he inquired about her, found out that she was a 00:20:32.51\00:20:38.07 married woman but like you said, Kings- 00:20:38.10\00:20:39.86 you know, he probably said, 00:20:39.89\00:20:40.86 "Well, I'm the King " 00:20:40.87\00:20:41.84 and- and if you go real quickly 00:20:41.85\00:20:43.92 and then I want to get back on 00:20:43.95\00:20:45.38 how that's practical on our day today. 00:20:45.41\00:20:47.71 but Uriah, her 00:20:47.74\00:20:50.32 her husband 00:20:50.35\00:20:51.32 husband. He wasn't even a Jew, he was a Hittite. 00:20:51.33\00:20:53.14 He was a Hittite but he was out fighting the battle, 00:20:53.17\00:20:57.00 could have lost his life. 00:20:57.03\00:20:58.74 David, of course, obviously, he laid with this woman. 00:20:58.77\00:21:02.38 He had sex with this lady. 00:21:02.41\00:21:03.71 She became pregnant, he thought- 00:21:03.74\00:21:06.05 and- and it shows what a conscience David had 00:21:06.08\00:21:08.19 because now he's going to try and cover this thing up. 00:21:08.22\00:21:10.23 Yep 00:21:10.26\00:21:11.23 and you know what it does? 00:21:11.24\00:21:12.21 Be sure your sins will 00:21:12.22\00:21:13.19 Find you out 00:21:13.20\00:21:14.17 always find you out and 00:21:14.18\00:21:15.15 and so, he tries to cover it up. 00:21:15.16\00:21:17.08 So he calls Uriah back 00:21:17.11\00:21:18.98 and Uriah- Uriah doesn't even want to be his Wife 00:21:19.01\00:21:21.61 He wants to say hi to her but he says, 00:21:21.64\00:21:23.37 "Listen, everyone else is battling" 00:21:23.40\00:21:24.53 "It's not fair for me " 00:21:24.56\00:21:25.53 David gives Uriah the experience of ease and prosperity, 00:21:25.54\00:21:28.03 Yes 00:21:28.06\00:21:29.03 "Go home. " he says, "Go to your house, kick your feet up. " 00:21:29.04\00:21:30.89 Even sends him some- some gifts there, you know. 00:21:30.92\00:21:33.92 "and just have a good time with your wife," is what he says. 00:21:33.95\00:21:36.01 This is lawful for him. 00:21:36.04\00:21:37.01 Yeah 00:21:37.02\00:21:37.99 You know, he's out in battle. 00:21:38.00\00:21:38.97 I mean, think about it. 00:21:38.98\00:21:39.95 You've been out to battle for how many months 00:21:39.96\00:21:41.07 Take care of your 00:21:41.10\00:21:42.07 and you're 00:21:42.08\00:21:43.05 woman, you know. 00:21:43.06\00:21:44.03 "Spend some nice 00:21:44.04\00:21:45.01 Yeah 00:21:45.02\00:21:45.99 vacation time with your Wife " 00:21:46.00\00:21:46.97 "... and go into," he says. 00:21:46.98\00:21:47.95 Yeah 00:21:47.96\00:21:48.93 and he- and he wouldn't do it. 00:21:48.94\00:21:49.91 and- and even- even to the point that they got him drunk. 00:21:49.92\00:21:51.39 Yeah. 00:21:51.42\00:21:52.39 and he still wouldn't do it. 00:21:52.40\00:21:53.37 That's right 00:21:53.38\00:21:54.35 He was faithful and he was- he was trustworthy. 00:21:54.36\00:21:56.73 and now all of a sudden, David has another problem 00:21:56.76\00:21:58.45 So just because you're in a situation 00:21:58.48\00:22:00.72 of ease and prosperity, doesn't mean you have to sin. 00:22:00.75\00:22:02.90 That's right. 00:22:02.93\00:22:03.90 You know, David didn't have to commit adultery 00:22:03.91\00:22:04.94 That's right 00:22:04.97\00:22:05.94 here. 00:22:05.95\00:22:06.92 Well, again, he lost touch. 00:22:06.93\00:22:10.71 He- he- he- he... 00:22:10.74\00:22:11.71 Well, the reason I'm saying that, Dwight, 00:22:12.86\00:22:13.91 He is disconnected himself 00:22:13.94\00:22:14.91 You've met people 00:22:14.92\00:22:15.89 from Christ. 00:22:15.90\00:22:16.87 I know people that make it - they're like, 00:22:16.88\00:22:17.85 "Well you know, I just have these weaknesses and I just " 00:22:17.86\00:22:19.50 We tend to talk so much about our weaknesses 00:22:19.53\00:22:21.40 Yes 00:22:21.43\00:22:22.40 as if there was really no other option, 00:22:22.41\00:22:24.30 when the reality is, we have Christ. 00:22:24.33\00:22:25.95 That's right. 00:22:25.98\00:22:26.95 We have the power of Christ. 00:22:26.96\00:22:28.05 We should be able to turn to Him 00:22:28.09\00:22:29.68 and gain strength over anything. 00:22:29.71\00:22:31.55 Jesus says, "To him who overcomes, I'll give a right 00:22:31.58\00:22:33.01 to sit on My throne. " 00:22:33.04\00:22:34.01 That's right. 00:22:34.02\00:22:34.99 But we, Oh, I have all these weaknesses. " 00:22:35.00\00:22:36.50 and so that's the reason I make that point. 00:22:36.53\00:22:38.03 What Jesus says 00:22:38.06\00:22:39.19 You don't have to fall just because you 00:22:39.22\00:22:40.19 That's right 00:22:40.20\00:22:41.17 are in a situation 00:22:41.18\00:22:42.15 of ease and prosperity. 00:22:42.16\00:22:43.13 Right 00:22:43.14\00:22:44.11 and he says, 00:22:44.12\00:22:45.09 "With Me, all things are possible. " 00:22:45.10\00:22:46.78 That's right 00:22:46.81\00:22:47.78 and you know, my Mom, it reminds me of my Mom. 00:22:47.79\00:22:50.28 Years ago when I was in school, 00:22:50.42\00:22:51.70 she bought me a T-shirt 00:22:52.17\00:22:53.45 and it said, "The Devil Made Me Do It. " 00:22:53.48\00:22:54.99 Ah huh 00:22:55.02\00:22:55.99 and I wore that like once or twice, 00:22:56.00\00:22:57.42 and I started getting all bad kinds of thoughts. 00:22:57.45\00:22:59.29 "The devil can't make me to do anything. " 00:22:59.32\00:23:01.22 That's right. 00:23:01.25\00:23:02.22 "I have to accept, I have to make that choice. " 00:23:02.23\00:23:04.51 You know, Pastor C.D. Brooks, years ago, 00:23:05.07\00:23:07.28 many of you have- have listened to Pastor C.D. Brooks. 00:23:07.31\00:23:09.94 He'd been very blessed. 00:23:09.97\00:23:10.94 He was part of- of my blessing years ago listening to him 00:23:10.95\00:23:14.24 because he was so practical but he said, 00:23:14.27\00:23:15.71 "The Devil cast his vote against you. 00:23:15.74\00:23:18.65 Jesus cast his vote for you, 00:23:18.68\00:23:21.00 and you are the tie-breaker. " 00:23:21.03\00:23:22.39 That's right 00:23:22.42\00:23:23.39 We are the ones that make that choice. 00:23:23.40\00:23:24.37 David made the choice 00:23:24.38\00:23:25.53 You know, Bathsheba didn't make the choice. 00:23:26.14\00:23:27.98 He was the King, he made his own choices 00:23:28.01\00:23:30.97 but he lost connection with his Heavenly Father. 00:23:31.00\00:23:33.79 and I think today, the practical application is that 00:23:33.82\00:23:36.43 I've seen Pastors, I've counselled with Pastors, 00:23:36.46\00:23:39.38 they went out on their wives, 00:23:39.41\00:23:41.14 wives that went out on their husbands, 00:23:41.17\00:23:42.56 and- and why? 00:23:42.59\00:23:44.72 because they weren't really satisfied. 00:23:44.75\00:23:47.70 Something's going on at home and you know, 00:23:47.73\00:23:50.13 maybe the Pastors or men that went out on their spouses. 00:23:50.16\00:23:52.56 but it might have - but usually, it takes two, 00:23:52.59\00:23:55.07 not always, but most of the time it does. 00:23:55.10\00:23:56.34 That's right 00:23:56.37\00:23:57.34 Maybe the woman isn't fulfilling her man. 00:23:57.35\00:23:59.08 Maybe they're arguing so much. 00:23:59.11\00:24:01.06 Maybe the man isn't coming home 00:24:01.09\00:24:02.74 and spending time with his wife. 00:24:02.77\00:24:04.00 You know, I- I worked with marriages and families, 00:24:04.03\00:24:06.65 and I'll tell you, there's a lot going on there. 00:24:06.68\00:24:08.66 but I can tell you, in 33 years of marriage with my Wife, 00:24:08.69\00:24:11.74 we've had our issues 00:24:12.22\00:24:13.87 and we certainly did when we first got married. 00:24:13.90\00:24:16.00 but I made a commitment to Lord 00:24:16.03\00:24:17.72 and here's my commitment, 00:24:17.75\00:24:18.72 "Lord, I know I probably could find a better wife" 00:24:18.73\00:24:20.74 My Wife has told me, 00:24:20.77\00:24:22.14 "Dwight, I know there's better women out there. " 00:24:22.17\00:24:23.89 but I always tell Deb, I said, 00:24:23.92\00:24:25.81 "Deb, but I chose you. " 00:24:25.84\00:24:27.39 You know, I chose her. 00:24:27.93\00:24:29.72 Yeah 00:24:29.75\00:24:30.72 And she says then, 00:24:30.73\00:24:31.70 "Dwight, I probably could find a better man. " 00:24:31.71\00:24:32.93 I said, "I know you could, Honey. " 00:24:32.96\00:24:34.02 Yeah 00:24:34.05\00:24:35.02 I know there's a better Dwight Hall out there 00:24:35.03\00:24:36.41 that would probably... 00:24:36.44\00:24:37.41 You know, 00:24:37.42\00:24:38.39 Yeah 00:24:38.40\00:24:39.37 Deb tells people, 00:24:39.38\00:24:40.35 "I don't even know to cook," which I don't 00:24:40.36\00:24:41.33 She says, "I don't even know where silverware drawers at" 00:24:41.34\00:24:42.50 So don't even put me in the kitchen. " 00:24:42.53\00:24:44.03 In other words, she could find a man that loves to cook. 00:24:44.06\00:24:46.17 I know my son will love, David; he loves to cook. 00:24:46.20\00:24:48.45 I think Tash and him have to 00:24:48.48\00:24:49.93 Yeah 00:24:49.96\00:24:50.93 fight for the kitchen. 00:24:50.94\00:24:51.91 Deb never has to fight for the kitchen. 00:24:51.92\00:24:53.41 but you know something? 00:24:53.44\00:24:54.41 She says, "Dwight, I chose you. " 00:24:54.43\00:24:56.02 and she's content with me 00:24:56.05\00:24:57.97 and I think the problem is, when we disconnect with Christ, 00:24:58.00\00:25:02.28 then we're not happy with what we have. 00:25:02.31\00:25:03.90 Uhh hmm 00:25:03.93\00:25:04.90 The rich young Ruler had much riches. 00:25:04.91\00:25:05.88 Yeah, that's right 00:25:05.89\00:25:06.86 He was unhappy. 00:25:06.87\00:25:07.84 and so you have the first step, 00:25:07.85\00:25:08.82 it was the disconnecting. 00:25:08.83\00:25:09.80 That's right 00:25:09.81\00:25:10.78 In- in case, maybe the Viewers didn't understand that, 00:25:10.79\00:25:13.18 there's the spiritual application. 00:25:13.21\00:25:15.84 David didn't go out to the battle. 00:25:15.87\00:25:17.91 Yes 00:25:17.94\00:25:18.91 and that should be- that's significant to us. 00:25:18.92\00:25:20.42 In other words, God had a work for David to do 00:25:20.45\00:25:22.57 that he wasn't doing. 00:25:22.60\00:25:23.81 That's why we know he was disconnected. 00:25:23.84\00:25:26.09 Yes. 00:25:26.12\00:25:27.09 and when God has work for us to do 00:25:27.10\00:25:28.39 that we're not doing 00:25:28.42\00:25:29.96 In other words, Christianity isn't just about 00:25:29.99\00:25:31.77 going up in some monastery somewhere, 00:25:31.80\00:25:34.04 some place having my own little private time. 00:25:34.07\00:25:36.26 Yes. 00:25:36.29\00:25:37.26 But- but it's about 00:25:37.27\00:25:38.24 actively reading the Word, 00:25:38.27\00:25:40.42 applying the Word, living the Word 00:25:40.45\00:25:41.87 in my life on a daily basis. 00:25:41.90\00:25:43.40 Wit- witnessing for Christ and that kind of thing, 00:25:43.43\00:25:45.94 that shows my connection. 00:25:45.97\00:25:47.53 and David, that's where he failed, 00:25:47.56\00:25:49.57 and after that, everything was just downhill. 00:25:49.60\00:25:51.28 It went downhill. 00:25:51.31\00:25:52.28 and I- and I wanted to really to appeal to theViewers today. 00:25:52.29\00:25:55.72 Listen, 00:25:55.75\00:25:56.78 God never promised us a rose- a rose garden. 00:25:57.95\00:26:00.07 He just never did. 00:26:00.10\00:26:01.09 He said that, "Those that follow Me shall be persecuted. " 00:26:01.12\00:26:05.83 "Will be persecuted. " 00:26:05.86\00:26:07.06 He said, "If I was- If I'm persecuted, how much more will 00:26:07.09\00:26:10.05 you be persecuted?" 00:26:10.08\00:26:11.05 You know, he says, "Pick up your cross and follow Me. " 00:26:11.06\00:26:14.54 Which means that 00:26:14.57\00:26:15.92 you know, a cross is painful. 00:26:15.95\00:26:18.32 I mean, we- we watch movies on- on the cross. 00:26:18.35\00:26:21.15 It's a very painful thing. 00:26:21.18\00:26:22.54 So it's not an easy street 00:26:22.57\00:26:25.15 but our burden is light. Why? 00:26:25.18\00:26:26.78 because our conscience is clear. 00:26:26.81\00:26:28.31 When David sinned, 00:26:28.34\00:26:30.38 it ruined his Kingdom basically. 00:26:31.11\00:26:32.96 I mean, from then on he couldn't tell his Kids what to do 00:26:32.99\00:26:35.52 because they say, "Well, Dad, who are you to say?" 00:26:35.55\00:26:37.20 Uhh hmm 00:26:37.23\00:26:38.20 but yet, as the King, he should have still told them 00:26:38.21\00:26:39.89 the right from the wrong 00:26:39.92\00:26:42.28 and- and all because why? 00:26:42.31\00:26:44.26 because God had a battle for him 00:26:44.29\00:26:47.11 and to me, it was a battle of self. 00:26:47.14\00:26:48.76 Yeah. 00:26:48.79\00:26:49.76 Every day, he should've been self 00:26:49.77\00:26:50.75 should have been crucified... 00:26:50.78\00:26:51.75 like Paul says, "I died daily. " 00:26:51.76\00:26:53.06 and that's what we need to be doing. 00:26:53.09\00:26:54.56 and you know, when he lost his connection, 00:26:54.59\00:26:55.94 his spiritual connection, everything else started looking 00:26:55.97\00:26:58.88 better to him 00:26:58.91\00:26:59.88 That's right 00:26:59.89\00:27:00.86 than what he had. 00:27:00.87\00:27:01.84 Yes. 00:27:01.85\00:27:02.82 Whether it be a woman or whether it be whatever, 00:27:02.83\00:27:03.80 and a lot of people in this World, 00:27:03.81\00:27:04.78 a lot of the Viewers maybe dissatisfied with life, 00:27:04.79\00:27:06.22 thinking that your pleasure is going to be, 00:27:06.25\00:27:08.11 or your fulfilment is going to be in a job, 00:27:08.14\00:27:09.52 or in a woman, or in something else. 00:27:09.55\00:27:11.22 You're only going to find that fulfilment in Christ 00:27:11.25\00:27:13.23 and once you put your heart and your mind 00:27:13.26\00:27:15.50 in seek- seeking on serving Him, you'll find contentment. 00:27:15.53\00:27:18.42 Yeah 00:27:18.45\00:27:19.42 Godliness with contentment - as you were sharing earlier. 00:27:19.43\00:27:20.52 Great gain. 00:27:20.55\00:27:21.52 Is a great gain. 00:27:21.53\00:27:22.50 Amen 00:27:22.51\00:27:23.48 It's in 1st Timothy 6 00:27:23.49\00:27:24.46 Chapter 6 verse 6 00:27:24.47\00:27:25.44 OK 00:27:25.45\00:27:26.42 So listen, 00:27:26.43\00:27:27.40 get that connection with Christ. 00:27:27.41\00:27:28.61 Get in the Bible and make it practical. 00:27:28.64\00:27:30.96 Make the Bible come alive in your life. 00:27:30.99\00:27:33.52 and what? 00:27:33.55\00:27:34.52 If you do that and you don't put it off, 00:27:34.53\00:27:36.47 I promise you, you'll have a better way of life. 00:27:36.50\00:27:39.37 By working together, 1.7 million copies 00:27:39.40\00:27:42.81 of "The Passion of Love" were distributed around the Country, 00:27:42.84\00:27:45.96 resulting in an unprecedented partnership 00:27:45.99\00:27:48.32 with Wal-Mart, that lead to over 1,000 Bible Studies. 00:27:48.35\00:27:52.02 By working together, over 6 million copies of 00:27:52.82\00:27:55.67 "The Ten Commandments, Twice Removed" 00:27:55.70\00:27:57.60 were shared around the World, 00:27:57.63\00:27:59.07 resulting in more than 20 churches now keeping 00:27:59.10\00:28:02.04 The Bible Sabbath. 00:28:02.07\00:28:03.56 By working together, we have shipped almost 00:28:03.59\00:28:06.26 a million Bibles to spiritually thirsty Christians in Africa, 00:28:06.29\00:28:09.98 touching the lives of 20 million people for Christ. 00:28:10.01\00:28:13.17 Working together is what allows Remnant Publications 00:28:14.21\00:28:17.89 to spread truth-filled Books around the World 00:28:17.92\00:28:20.63 to hasten the Lord's coming. 00:28:20.66\00:28:22.49 Will you join us in that mission? 00:28:23.08\00:28:24.74 Will you help us reach the World for Jesus 00:28:24.77\00:28:28.02 One Book at a Time. 00:28:28.05\00:28:29.48
