to the Volga River in Russia.

who had immigrated there

States into North Dakota.

Mine came from the same place.

They came to the
States in North Dakota.

Now, mine were a little
softer, hers were tough.

So they stayed in Dakota,

and they went on
the land runs there

and they got a piece of land.

Might have heard
about land in Oklahoma,

and they had heard that Oklahoma

was a lot warmer
than North Dakota.

And so in 1891, the
second or third land run,

they made the land run

into a place near
Chandler, Oklahoma.

That's where our farm is now.

And they got 160 acres.

My great grandfather

grandmother spoke German only.
