we know that this people

remnant, God's remnant church.

And the Bible has
dozens of text on the remnant,

couple here in the beginning,

just to kind of
solidify the fact that

God has a special people,

He has always
had a special people,

a people that He is empowered

with the power
of His Holy Spirit

to lead and guide them to
do His work in these last days.

I want to take you
to Romans Chapter 11.

Romans Chapter 11,
where Paul is pointing us

back to a special,

special story in
the Bible of Elijah,

in which he had
this special encounter

with the Lord.

Elijah was a little
discouraged thinking that
00:02:32.78\00:02:34.48
he was the only one,
right, that the Lord was using
00:02:34.52\00:02:37.29
during this time
of Great Apostasy

all throughout Israel,
00:02:39.35\00:02:40.69
but Romans Chapter 11
beginning with verse 2,

we're gonna read
through to verse 5.

Notice what Paul says, He says,

"God has not cast away
His people whom He foreknew.

Or do you not know

what the
Scripture says of Elijah,

how he pleads with God
against Israel, saying,

'Lord, they have
killed Your prophets

and torn down Your altars,

I alone am left,
and they seek my life?

But what does the
divine response say to him?

I have reserved for

God, my friends, has a remnant.

Are you a part of that remnant?

this great last day movement

the most famous passages

in reference to
the great outpouring

of the Holy Spirit,

where God's gonna use
His sons and His daughters.

And in fact, I want

but most of us stop at verse 31,

we don't read on to verse 32.

But as we learn in scripture,

have accepted Christ,

according to the promise,
we are seeds of Abraham.

And so, my friends,

God has a remnant
in these last days.

In fact, it doesn't take

scientist to figure out that

study of God's Word,

find prophetically God

called the Seventh-day
Adventist movement in His Word,

in prophecy for
such a time as this.

In these last days,
it was God's intention

to raise up a last day movement

to take the gospel to the world

and to co-labor with
Him and finishing His work.

In fact that
prophecy I'm referring to,

many people would probably think

we're going to
Revelation Chapter 10,

while that's a great chapter,

and it certainly
does give some insights

and prophetic insight to
the history of Adventism.

I believe that in
Daniel Chapter 12,

speaking of
those two timeframes,

the 1,290 days,
and the 1,335 days,

if you do a responsible
search and study of God's Word,

you will find that these,

especially the 1,335 days

are pertaining to the
time in which God would rise up

a great movement,
a last day movement

in which He
would finish His work.

I want to read that
now Daniel 12:11-12.

It says, "And
from that time that

the daily
sacrifice is taken away,

and the abomination

for the mediatorial work,

the great ministering

that was the great abomination

to restore the
message of the sanctuary,

be, what is our mission?

great powerful movement

for the last days?

another church system?

Or are we a movement of people,

empowered by the Holy
Spirit sent out and commissioned

by God Himself to
do a powerful work

in these last days?

I'm thinking of Isaiah 60:1-3.
00:10:11.87\00:10:15.58
Again, these
are prophetic words,

powerful promising
words that we can rely on in
00:10:17.55\00:10:20.42
knowing that God
indeed has a people
00:10:20.45\00:10:22.68
and that God wins in the end,
00:10:22.72\00:10:24.85
and that if we
align ourselves with Him,
00:10:24.89\00:10:26.62
He will empower us
with His glorious light.
00:10:26.65\00:10:29.02
Notice what Isaiah 60:1-3 says.

It says, "Arise,
shine, for your life has come!

And the glory of the
Lord is risen upon you.

For behold, the darkness
shall overcome the earth,

and deep darkness the people,
00:10:44.34\00:10:46.68
but the Lord
will arise over you,

and His glory
will be seen upon you."

And then I love this
last part in verse 3,

it says, "The Gentiles
shall come to your light,

and the kings to the
brightness of your rising."

My friends, we are living
in awesome, awesome times.

It is a
privilege, it is an honor.

It's a wonderful positive thing

to be a
Seventh-day Adventist Christian

living in these last days.

You see, we are
living in dark times,

but I believe
there's even darker times
00:11:17.64\00:11:19.31
that are coming.

And what did that text just say?

It said, "For
behold, the darkness
00:11:22.24\00:11:23.75
shall cover the earth,
00:11:23.78\00:11:25.11
and deep darkness the people."

Who is going to lead
these people out of darkness?

Of course, we know we have
no light of our own, right?

Jesus said, "I am
the light of the world."

He is the genuine light,
00:11:35.22\00:11:36.99
but yet He also
looks to His church.

And He points to
His people, He says,

"And you are also
the light of the earth.

You're the light of the world."

Why is that? Because
we reflect His light.

Are you reflecting
the light of Jesus today?

Are you focused
in on the mission

and the reason
that you are called?

My friends, it's not
just some happenstance

or some coincidence
that you find yourselves

a part of this powerful church
movement in these last days.

We're not just some
church on the corner

of some willy-nilly
little street somewhere.

We are a
worldwide dominant movement

that God Himself has raised up

for the purpose of completing

and finishing the work,
saving souls and preparing

for the kingdom of God.

In fact, Counsels

has some powerful
words of encouragement.

But notice the message here,

If there was ever a people

in need of constantly

when we think of Isaiah 58,

we think of those latter verses

where it talks about
the Sabbath being a delight,

and how we should do not
our own pleasure on that day

because we should uphold
and honor the Sabbath day.

We are Seventh-day
Adventist Christians, right?

But yet there's a
verse in Isaiah 58 that

really, really
sticks out in my mind.

And it reminds me as
well as it should you

that God is looking for a people

who will stand in
this world at this time
