Well here we are again. 00:00:15.67\00:00:17.09 We want to continue our study of, Daniel's Little Sealed Book. 00:00:17.45\00:00:21.90 And basically, we have been discussing the fact that the 00:00:22.38\00:00:26.32 book of Daniel is composed of two books. 00:00:26.35\00:00:28.77 The first book is Daniel 1 through 7. 00:00:29.22\00:00:31.91 The second book is Daniel 8 through 12. 00:00:32.42\00:00:34.86 Now we have not proved that Daniel 8 through 12 00:00:34.89\00:00:37.36 is the second book. 00:00:37.39\00:00:38.49 But we have discussed Daniel 1 through 7. 00:00:38.76\00:00:41.58 And we noticed that these chapters are interrelated, 00:00:41.80\00:00:46.55 interconnected. 00:00:46.58\00:00:47.66 Daniel 2 and 7 are connected, Daniel 3 and 6 are connected, 00:00:47.99\00:00:52.93 and Daniel 4 and 5 are connected, in terms of theme. 00:00:52.96\00:00:56.95 And Daniel 1 would be the introduction. 00:00:56.98\00:00:59.55 So you have a candelabrum. 00:00:59.58\00:01:01.02 What is called, a chiasm, if you please. 00:01:01.05\00:01:03.61 Now we were also discussing the sequence of powers in Daniel 7. 00:01:04.14\00:01:08.78 And we're going to our material now. 00:01:09.15\00:01:12.02 The sequence of powers was Babylon, Medo-Persia, 00:01:12.05\00:01:15.65 Greece, Rome, Rome divided into ten kingdoms, 00:01:15.68\00:01:19.21 then the little horn, which is papal Rome, 00:01:19.31\00:01:21.78 which rules until 1798. 00:01:21.81\00:01:23.87 And then after 1798, we have the judgment. 00:01:23.90\00:01:28.37 We have the beginning of the judgment. 00:01:28.92\00:01:30.78 And where does that judgment take place? 00:01:30.81\00:01:32.82 It takes place in heaven. 00:01:33.51\00:01:35.05 Does it take place before the second coming of Christ? 00:01:35.38\00:01:37.91 Yes, because the Son of Man goes to the Ancient of Days 00:01:38.35\00:01:42.56 to receive the kingdom before He comes here 00:01:42.59\00:01:44.74 to take over the kingdom. 00:01:44.77\00:01:46.11 He goes to the Ancient of Days to receive the kingdom. 00:01:46.14\00:01:48.99 So the investigative phase of that judgment 00:01:49.18\00:01:52.13 takes place in heaven. 00:01:52.16\00:01:53.19 And then the time comes when Christ and the saints 00:01:53.22\00:01:56.02 take over the kingdom, according to Daniel 7. 00:01:56.05\00:01:58.57 Now, that description of Jesus coming to the Father, 00:01:59.18\00:02:03.84 to the Ancient of Days, is found in Daniel 7 00:02:03.87\00:02:06.48 verses 9-10 and 13-14. 00:02:06.51\00:02:09.18 I'd like to read those verses. 00:02:09.21\00:02:10.89 Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14 00:02:11.14\00:02:13.87 It is in your material. 00:02:13.90\00:02:15.25 It says here, "I watched till thrones were put in place..." 00:02:15.94\00:02:19.50 This is after the little horn rules for 1260 years. 00:02:19.53\00:02:23.16 "I watched till thrones were put in place, 00:02:23.41\00:02:25.79 and the Ancient of Days was seated. 00:02:25.99\00:02:28.60 His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head 00:02:29.51\00:02:32.29 was like pure wool. 00:02:32.32\00:02:33.68 His throne was a fiery flame, its wheels a burning fire. 00:02:33.78\00:02:38.45 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him. 00:02:38.78\00:02:41.98 A thousand thousands ministered to Him; 00:02:42.01\00:02:44.55 ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. 00:02:44.70\00:02:48.14 The court was seated and the books were opened." 00:02:48.17\00:02:52.07 Where is this judgment being enacted? 00:02:52.62\00:02:56.34 In heaven. 00:02:56.78\00:02:57.81 Now notice verses 13 and 14. 00:02:58.09\00:03:00.39 After the Father moves, then you find this. 00:03:00.42\00:03:03.64 "I was watching in the night visions, and behold, 00:03:03.84\00:03:06.15 one like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven. 00:03:06.35\00:03:09.24 He came to the Ancient of Days..." 00:03:09.44\00:03:12.38 Where's the Ancient of Days? 00:03:13.66\00:03:15.81 In heaven. 00:03:16.10\00:03:17.13 We pray, "Our Father which art in heaven." 00:03:17.16\00:03:20.08 The Ancient of Days is in heaven. 00:03:20.11\00:03:21.51 So the Son of Man comes to the Ancient of Days. 00:03:21.54\00:03:24.13 Where is this judgment taking place? 00:03:24.16\00:03:26.27 It's taking place in heaven. 00:03:26.30\00:03:27.98 And so it says, "One like the Son of Man, 00:03:28.31\00:03:30.05 coming with the clouds of heaven. 00:03:30.08\00:03:31.32 He came to the Ancient of Days, 00:03:31.54\00:03:33.43 And they," that is the clouds, the angels, 00:03:33.66\00:03:36.57 "brought Him near before Him." 00:03:36.60\00:03:38.14 And now notice. 00:03:38.34\00:03:39.37 "Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, 00:03:39.40\00:03:43.52 that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. 00:03:43.55\00:03:46.26 His dominion is an everlasting dominion, 00:03:46.29\00:03:48.72 which shall not pass away, and His kingdom 00:03:48.75\00:03:51.04 the one which shall not be destroyed." 00:03:51.14\00:03:53.73 So Daniel 7 has something very interesting. 00:03:54.99\00:03:57.46 It has the sequence of powers that would rule in the world 00:03:58.12\00:04:01.68 till the time that Jesus takes over the kingdom, 00:04:02.37\00:04:05.46 empirically when He comes to take over the kingdom. 00:04:05.49\00:04:07.78 But there's something in Daniel 7 that was not 00:04:08.39\00:04:10.80 understood until after 1798. 00:04:10.83\00:04:14.25 You see, before 1798, it was believed that when Jesus came, 00:04:15.05\00:04:20.61 He would take over the kingdom, but they did not know, 00:04:20.87\00:04:23.83 they did not realize that a judgment is going to 00:04:23.86\00:04:26.54 take place in heaven before Jesus takes over the kingdom. 00:04:26.57\00:04:29.94 In other words, that's one point that was not 00:04:30.46\00:04:32.32 understood before 1798, the judgment aspect. 00:04:32.35\00:04:36.13 You see, before 1798, basically they believed that the 00:04:36.46\00:04:41.17 judgment is when Jesus comes. 00:04:41.20\00:04:42.94 Somehow even the Millerites did not understand, 00:04:44.26\00:04:46.95 because William Miller used Daniel chapter 7 00:04:46.98\00:04:49.96 to speak of the second coming of Christ, even though 00:04:50.06\00:04:53.52 it says that the Son of Man came to the Ancient of Days. 00:04:53.55\00:04:56.80 They did not fully understand that before Jesus comes 00:04:56.83\00:05:00.35 to empirically take over the kingdom, 00:05:00.38\00:05:02.51 there was going to be a judgment that would declare Jesus, 00:05:02.73\00:05:06.80 "Jesus is right to have the kingdom in the heavenly court." 00:05:06.95\00:05:10.13 Are you understanding what I'm saying? 00:05:10.16\00:05:11.42 So there was one aspect of Daniel chapter 7 00:05:11.52\00:05:14.37 that was not understood before 1798. 00:05:14.40\00:05:18.19 And that was the judgment aspect, 00:05:18.22\00:05:20.31 the heavenly judgment aspect, 00:05:20.34\00:05:22.70 of the taking over of the kingdom. 00:05:22.73\00:05:25.70 Is that point clear? 00:05:25.73\00:05:27.02 Now that is very important for what we're 00:05:27.60\00:05:30.30 going to discuss next. 00:05:30.33\00:05:31.86 Let's discuss now the second book. 00:05:32.49\00:05:35.12 We've already discussed the first book. 00:05:35.55\00:05:37.56 The first book ends by saying that there's going to be 00:05:37.75\00:05:40.59 two phases to the judgment. 00:05:40.62\00:05:42.10 One, a heavenly phase where Jesus will be given the kingdom 00:05:42.13\00:05:46.99 legally in a court of law. 00:05:47.02\00:05:48.98 And then the time when Jesus actually takes over the kingdom 00:05:49.19\00:05:51.88 that He was legally given in the court of law. 00:05:51.91\00:05:54.29 Now let's look at the second book. 00:05:54.77\00:05:56.73 Daniel 12 and verse 4 says, "But you, Daniel, 00:05:57.17\00:06:01.15 shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; 00:06:01.18\00:06:08.00 many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." 00:06:08.03\00:06:13.82 Now the big question here is this, 00:06:15.39\00:06:17.75 which book is Daniel 12 verse 4 referring to? 00:06:18.17\00:06:21.88 Is it referring to the entire book of Daniel? 00:06:22.23\00:06:25.04 Or is it referring to the second book within the book, 00:06:25.39\00:06:29.59 which is Daniel chapter 8 through 12? 00:06:29.85\00:06:32.73 That's what we want to pursue. 00:06:33.56\00:06:35.37 Now it says clearly here that the book would be sealed 00:06:35.70\00:06:39.50 until when? 00:06:39.53\00:06:40.70 It would be sealed until the time of the end. 00:06:41.39\00:06:43.81 But at the time of the end, what would happen? 00:06:44.28\00:06:46.50 The seal would be removed and knowledge would be increased. 00:06:46.68\00:06:50.77 Not scientific knowledge, but knowledge of the book. 00:06:50.80\00:06:55.16 Because at the time of the end, the book would be opened. 00:06:55.87\00:06:58.63 And now people would be able to understand 00:06:58.66\00:07:01.15 what was in the book that had been sealed 00:07:01.18\00:07:03.48 in the days of Daniel. 00:07:03.51\00:07:04.81 Are you following me or not? 00:07:04.84\00:07:06.22 This is very, very important. 00:07:06.25\00:07:07.74 Now, there are five reasons that I want to give you 00:07:08.32\00:07:12.43 that prove that the entire book of Daniel was not sealed 00:07:13.26\00:07:17.70 until the time of the end. 00:07:17.73\00:07:19.10 The only portion of Daniel that was sealed until the 00:07:20.76\00:07:23.59 time of the end was the content of Daniel 8 through 12. 00:07:23.62\00:07:28.46 And so that is the book that was sealed 00:07:28.89\00:07:31.47 until the time of the end. 00:07:31.50\00:07:32.59 It is the book within the book. 00:07:32.62\00:07:35.18 Now let's pursue this so that you understand 00:07:36.13\00:07:39.56 this very important point. 00:07:39.70\00:07:41.43 Reason number one, there is evidence that Daniel 00:07:42.58\00:07:47.71 chapters 1 through 7 was understood, to a great degree, 00:07:47.74\00:07:52.56 long before the time of the end. 00:07:52.59\00:07:55.00 Notice the words of the church father, Hippolytus, 00:07:56.93\00:08:00.07 who wrote in the third century AD. 00:08:00.26\00:08:03.06 Now you tell me if he understood, 00:08:03.96\00:08:05.30 to a great degree, Daniel 7. 00:08:05.55\00:08:07.44 This is what he says, "In speaking of a lioness 00:08:07.47\00:08:10.95 from the sea, Daniel meant the rising of the kingdom 00:08:10.98\00:08:14.87 of Babylon, and that this was the golden head of the image. 00:08:14.90\00:08:19.10 Then after the lioness, he sees a second beast like a bear, 00:08:19.65\00:08:22.94 which signified the Persians. 00:08:22.97\00:08:24.84 For after the Babylonians, the Persians obtained the power. 00:08:24.87\00:08:28.41 And in saying that it had three ribs in its mouth, 00:08:29.05\00:08:31.50 he pointed to the three nations, Persians, Medes, 00:08:31.53\00:08:33.84 and Babylonians, which were expressed in the image 00:08:33.87\00:08:36.10 by the silver after the gold. 00:08:36.13\00:08:38.25 Then comes a third beast, a leopard, which means the Greeks. 00:08:38.74\00:08:42.27 For after the Persians, Alexander of Macedon 00:08:42.37\00:08:45.71 had the power when Darius was overthrown, 00:08:45.74\00:08:48.18 which was also indicated by the brass in the image. 00:08:48.21\00:08:51.23 And in saying that the beast had four wings of a fowl, 00:08:51.65\00:08:54.34 and four heads, he showed most clearly how the kingdom of 00:08:54.37\00:08:57.84 Alexander was parted into four divisions. 00:08:57.87\00:09:00.64 For in speaking of four heads, he meant the four kings that 00:09:00.79\00:09:03.80 arose out of it. 00:09:03.83\00:09:05.22 For Alexander, when dying, divided his kingdom 00:09:05.25\00:09:08.12 into four parts. 00:09:08.15\00:09:09.40 Then he says the fourth beast was dreadful and terrible. 00:09:09.68\00:09:12.35 It had iron teeth and claws of brass. 00:09:12.55\00:09:14.84 Who then are meant by this but the Romans 00:09:15.04\00:09:17.66 whose kingdom, the kingdom that still stands, 00:09:17.69\00:09:21.41 is expressed by the iron. 00:09:21.44\00:09:23.14 For says he, its legs are of iron." 00:09:23.40\00:09:26.78 Did Hippolytus understand Daniel 2 and Daniel 7? 00:09:27.44\00:09:30.24 Oh yeah, to a great degree. 00:09:30.93\00:09:32.73 Now you say, "Ah, but he didn't understand the antichrist." 00:09:33.49\00:09:36.84 Oh yes he did. 00:09:37.04\00:09:38.07 But there's one thing that Hippolytus missed. 00:09:39.38\00:09:41.80 Let's read his second quotation. 00:09:41.83\00:09:43.78 By the way, for those who are interested, 00:09:44.18\00:09:45.84 this is found in LeRoy Edwin Frooms book, 00:09:45.87\00:09:49.24 The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers, volume 1, page 272. 00:09:49.27\00:09:53.44 This is what Hippolytus said in the second statement, 00:09:54.31\00:09:57.10 "Let us look at what is before us more carefully 00:09:57.20\00:09:59.89 and scan it, as it were, with open eye. 00:09:59.92\00:10:02.80 The golden head of the image is identical with the lioness, 00:10:02.83\00:10:06.19 by which the Babylonians were represented. 00:10:06.22\00:10:08.79 The golden shoulders and arms of silver are the same 00:10:09.04\00:10:12.14 with the bear, by which the Persians and Medes are meant. 00:10:12.17\00:10:15.39 The belly and thighs of brass are the leopard, by which the 00:10:15.63\00:10:18.16 Greeks who ruled from Alexander onwards are intended. 00:10:18.19\00:10:21.31 The legs of iron are the dreadful and terrible beast, 00:10:21.49\00:10:24.28 by which the Romans who hold the empire now are meant. 00:10:24.31\00:10:27.65 The toes of clay and iron are the ten horns which are to be. 00:10:28.19\00:10:32.84 The one other little horn springing up in their midst 00:10:33.35\00:10:35.99 is the antichrist." 00:10:36.02\00:10:37.82 Interesting. 00:10:38.81\00:10:39.84 Was he right? 00:10:39.87\00:10:41.09 Of course he was. 00:10:41.12\00:10:42.30 "The stone that smites the image and breaks it in pieces 00:10:42.98\00:10:46.34 and that filled the whole earth is Christ 00:10:46.37\00:10:50.07 who comes from heaven and brings judgment on the world." 00:10:50.10\00:10:54.40 What's missing? 00:10:55.09\00:10:56.21 What's missing here in his description? 00:10:59.56\00:11:01.90 For him, when is the judgment? 00:11:02.32\00:11:04.05 When Jesus comes from heaven and brings 00:11:05.98\00:11:08.57 judgment on the world. 00:11:08.60\00:11:10.03 What is he missing? 00:11:10.91\00:11:12.15 He's missing the pre-advent judgment. 00:11:12.80\00:11:14.76 He did not understand the pre-advent judgment. 00:11:15.20\00:11:17.41 But did he understand everything else? 00:11:17.44\00:11:20.79 He understood everything else. 00:11:21.00\00:11:22.17 So was Daniel 7 sealed until the time of the end? 00:11:22.20\00:11:25.42 No, there was one aspect that was sealed 00:11:25.52\00:11:27.89 until the time of the end. 00:11:27.92\00:11:28.99 And that is the investigative judgment phase, 00:11:29.02\00:11:31.97 after which Jesus would take over the kingdom. 00:11:32.74\00:11:35.12 Now the evidence in these quotations indicate 00:11:35.85\00:11:39.15 that Hippolytus understood everything about Daniel 7 00:11:39.48\00:11:42.49 except the investigative pre-advent judgment. 00:11:42.52\00:11:45.75 It should be noted that even some portions, 00:11:46.28\00:11:49.33 this is important also, that even some portions 00:11:49.36\00:11:52.24 of Daniel 8 through 12 that were fulfilled before the 00:11:52.27\00:11:56.30 time of the end could be understood before that time. 00:11:56.33\00:11:59.55 The historical sections of the book 00:12:00.63\00:12:02.77 could certainly be understood. 00:12:03.07\00:12:05.01 The meaning of the ram and the he goat of chapter 8 00:12:05.40\00:12:08.82 were understood before the time of the end. 00:12:08.85\00:12:11.05 Is that correct? 00:12:11.61\00:12:12.76 Of course, because Daniel tells us who these beasts represent, 00:12:13.11\00:12:18.04 the ram and the goat. 00:12:18.07\00:12:19.28 He says the ram represents Medo-Persia, 00:12:19.31\00:12:21.83 and the goat represents Greece. 00:12:21.86\00:12:23.62 You don't have to wait until the time of the end 00:12:23.65\00:12:24.98 to understand that. 00:12:25.01\00:12:26.12 So even some portions of Daniel 8 were understood 00:12:26.30\00:12:29.32 before the time of the end. 00:12:29.35\00:12:30.38 But there's one aspect of Daniel 8 that wasn't. 00:12:30.41\00:12:32.81 Let's continue. 00:12:32.91\00:12:33.94 Much of the earlier portions of Daniel 11 could be understood 00:12:34.21\00:12:37.91 before the time of the end. 00:12:37.94\00:12:39.40 As can be seen by the fact that the pagan philosopher, 00:12:39.70\00:12:43.41 Porphyry, argued to the church father, Tertullian, 00:12:43.44\00:12:48.29 that the first half of Daniel 11 describes so precisely 00:12:48.49\00:12:52.33 Greek and Roman history that it had to have been written 00:12:52.36\00:12:55.21 in the second century rather than in the sixth century. 00:12:55.24\00:12:58.31 So Porphyry said, "This is too detailed. 00:12:58.91\00:13:00.55 This could not have been written 400 years before it happened. 00:13:00.58\00:13:03.22 So somehow Daniel must have been written 00:13:03.25\00:13:05.77 in the year 200 BC." 00:13:05.80\00:13:07.36 So were there portions of Daniel 11 that even the 00:13:08.40\00:13:11.02 pagan philosopher Porphyry could understand? 00:13:11.05\00:13:14.14 Of course. 00:13:14.17\00:13:15.21 But there is one specific element of Daniel 8 through 12 00:13:15.68\00:13:19.55 that could not be understood by anyone 00:13:19.58\00:13:22.19 until the time of the end. 00:13:22.39\00:13:23.86 And that was the message concerning the 2300 days 00:13:24.22\00:13:27.62 and the judgment. 00:13:27.65\00:13:29.17 These things were sealed until the time of the end, 00:13:29.79\00:13:33.16 because only then would it be true that the 00:13:33.56\00:13:36.35 judgment had begun. 00:13:36.38\00:13:37.77 Are you with me? 00:13:39.41\00:13:40.44 I want to make sure that you're following along here. 00:13:40.89\00:13:43.10 What is the only thing that was not understood? 00:13:43.48\00:13:46.26 The 2300 days and the investigative judgment. 00:13:47.45\00:13:51.23 Now let me give you a second reason why you're dealing here 00:13:52.09\00:13:55.99 with two books rather than just one book. 00:13:56.02\00:14:00.33 Now I realize that Daniel is one book, 00:14:00.36\00:14:02.79 but there are two books within it. 00:14:02.82\00:14:04.95 The book of Daniel was written in two different languages. 00:14:05.48\00:14:08.75 Chapter 1, which is the introduction to the entire book, 00:14:09.55\00:14:13.77 was written in Hebrew. 00:14:13.80\00:14:15.12 Chapters 2 through 7 were written in Aramaic. 00:14:15.57\00:14:19.26 Which was, you know, somewhat like Hebrew. 00:14:19.78\00:14:22.67 It's kind of like Portuguese and Spanish. 00:14:22.70\00:14:25.38 Aramaic and Hebrew. 00:14:25.85\00:14:27.15 And so chapters 2 through 7 were written in Aramaic. 00:14:27.66\00:14:30.75 And chapters 8 through 12 were written in Hebrew. 00:14:31.25\00:14:34.38 The difference in language between Daniel 2 through 7 00:14:35.13\00:14:38.56 and Daniel 8 through 12 indicates that 00:14:38.59\00:14:42.37 the book of composed of two units. 00:14:42.40\00:14:44.86 Reason number three, the little old lady. 00:14:47.62\00:14:51.83 Ellen White knew this. 00:14:53.60\00:14:55.13 I never cease to marvel at how Ellen White understood this. 00:14:56.27\00:14:59.95 You know, most people, they say, "Oh, you know, the 00:14:59.98\00:15:02.36 book that was sealed until the time of the end was Daniel." 00:15:02.39\00:15:05.18 Ellen White didn't make that mistake. 00:15:05.89\00:15:07.33 She didn't say it was Daniel. 00:15:07.36\00:15:08.75 Let's read several statements from her writings. 00:15:09.34\00:15:11.75 This is, Acts of the Apostles, page 585. 00:15:12.40\00:15:15.11 "In the Revelation, all the books of the Bible meet and end. 00:15:15.88\00:15:20.90 Here is the complement of the book of Daniel. 00:15:21.38\00:15:24.29 One is a prophecy, the other a revelation. 00:15:24.67\00:15:28.20 The book that was sealed is not the Revelation, 00:15:28.52\00:15:31.87 but that portion..." 00:15:31.90\00:15:33.91 Hmmm. 00:15:35.97\00:15:37.39 What is a portion? 00:15:37.95\00:15:39.30 Part. 00:15:40.57\00:15:41.64 "...but that portion of the prophecy of Daniel 00:15:41.94\00:15:45.42 relating to the last days. 00:15:45.45\00:15:47.94 The angel commanded, 'But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, 00:15:49.18\00:15:52.36 and seal the book, even to the time of the end.'" 00:15:52.39\00:15:55.37 So is the book that was sealed all of Daniel? 00:15:56.38\00:15:58.91 No, it is that portion having to do with the last days. 00:15:59.31\00:16:03.71 In another statement, Great Controversy, page 355, 00:16:04.26\00:16:07.63 Ellen White explains, "The message of salvation 00:16:08.19\00:16:10.29 has been preached in all ages, but this message..." 00:16:10.32\00:16:13.62 She's talking about the first angel's message that says, 00:16:13.65\00:16:15.63 "The hour of His judgment has come." 00:16:15.66\00:16:18.23 "...but this message is a part of the gospel which could be 00:16:18.59\00:16:21.97 proclaimed only in the last days, for only then 00:16:22.00\00:16:25.54 would it be true that the hour of Judgment had come." 00:16:25.57\00:16:28.95 And now listen to what she says. 00:16:30.04\00:16:31.84 "The prophecies present a succession of events 00:16:31.87\00:16:34.96 leading down to the opening of the Judgment." 00:16:35.30\00:16:37.88 Daniel 7 does that, right? Could they understand the bear? 00:20:56.21\00:20:59.37 Could they understand the leopard? 00:20:59.60\00:21:01.08 Could they understand the dragon beast? 00:21:01.18\00:21:03.08 The ten horns? 00:23:28.71\00:23:30.95 Yeah, you have the ram; Medo-Persia. 00:23:32.44\00:23:34.63 Then you have the he goat; Greece. 00:23:34.83\00:23:36.74 Then the he goat grows four horns. 00:23:36.84\00:23:39.68 Those are the four heads of the leopard, by the way. 00:23:39.85\00:23:41.81 They grow four horns. 00:23:41.84\00:23:43.09 And then arises the little horn, which at first is pagan Rome. 00:23:43.27\00:23:47.13 It grows horizontally, and then it grows 00:23:47.16\00:23:50.48 vertically towards heaven. 00:23:50.51\00:23:51.93 In other words, Rome morphs from a political power 00:23:51.96\00:23:54.70 into a religious power. 00:23:54.73\00:23:56.59 And then it takes you all the way down to the time 00:23:57.34\00:24:00.22 of the cleansing of the Sanctuary. 00:24:00.56\00:24:02.44 So Daniel 8 gives you the broad sweep 00:24:02.47\00:24:04.46 from the time of Persia till the time when the Sanctuary 00:24:04.49\00:24:08.34 is going to be cleansed. 00:24:08.37\00:24:09.82 2300 days, which we understand as years. 00:24:10.33\00:24:15.42 Now I want you to notice that there are four differences 00:24:16.44\00:24:19.85 between the prophecy of Daniel 8 and those of 00:24:20.97\00:24:24.80 Daniel 2 and Daniel 7. 00:24:24.83\00:24:26.57 They are somewhat parallel, but there are differences. 00:24:27.24\00:24:30.43 First, while in Daniel 2 and 7 the prophetic series begins with 00:24:30.88\00:24:36.63 the kingdom of Babylon, that is the gold and the lion, 00:24:36.66\00:24:39.95 in Daniel 8 there is no symbol for the kingdom of Babylon. 00:24:40.55\00:24:43.89 Interesting. 00:24:46.03\00:24:47.10 The usual argument given for this difference 00:24:47.77\00:24:50.30 is that the kingdom of Babylon was about to pass away. 00:24:50.33\00:24:53.61 But the date given in this chapter indicates that the 00:24:54.34\00:24:56.98 kingdom of Babylon would not pass away for another 12 years. 00:24:57.01\00:25:01.29 So Babylon was still going to rule for 12 years. 00:25:01.86\00:25:04.05 There has to be another reason. 00:25:04.08\00:25:05.44 And the reason is that it had to begin with Persia 00:25:05.67\00:25:08.71 because that's when the 2300 day prophecy begins. 00:25:08.74\00:25:11.80 Second, in contrast to Daniel 7, the beasts of Daniel 8 00:25:13.48\00:25:18.80 are domestic Sanctuary animals. 00:25:18.83\00:25:21.51 What kind of beasts do you have in Daniel 7? 00:25:23.31\00:25:25.27 Carnivorous beasts. 00:25:28.35\00:25:30.11 Wild beasts. 00:25:31.03\00:25:32.60 But in Daniel 8, you have Sanctuary beasts. 00:25:33.30\00:25:37.67 Because the central theme is the Sanctuary. 00:25:37.70\00:25:40.26 The ram was used in the daily service, 00:25:41.23\00:25:44.17 while the he goat was used in the yearly service. 00:25:44.71\00:25:47.87 This strongly hints that the central theme 00:25:49.36\00:25:52.90 of Daniel 8 is the daily. 00:25:52.93\00:25:55.03 Is the daily referred to very clearly there? 00:25:55.06\00:25:57.50 Yeah. 00:25:58.32\00:25:59.35 Leading up to the end of the 2300 days 00:25:59.45\00:26:02.41 you have the little horn taking away what? 00:26:02.44\00:26:05.09 The daily. 00:26:05.19\00:26:06.40 That's the ram. 00:26:07.43\00:26:08.67 But that's not all. 00:26:09.77\00:26:11.13 And the yearly, in which the little horn is what? 00:27:38.55\00:27:39.84 He will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. 00:27:40.44\00:27:42.70 That's the culmination of the vision of Daniel 2. 00:27:42.73\00:27:45.03 Does Daniel 7 end with Jesus taking over the kingdom? 00:27:45.63\00:27:48.75 Yes it does. 00:27:48.80\00:27:49.83 But Daniel 8, strangely enough, the chapter ends 00:27:49.86\00:27:53.36 and there's no reference to the everlasting kingdom. 00:27:53.59\00:27:56.09 Which is different than Daniel 2 and Daniel 7. 00:27:56.44\00:27:59.27 Now this was due to the fact that Daniel got sick 00:28:00.15\00:28:03.70 before Gabriel was able to explain the entire vision. 00:28:04.52\00:28:08.48 And you can read that in chapter 8 verses 26 and 27. 00:28:08.51\00:28:11.49 This is the reason why Gabriel came back, 00:28:11.85\00:28:15.65 in Daniel 9 through 12, to explain the things 00:28:16.04\00:28:19.52 that had remained unexplained in chapter 8. 00:28:19.62\00:28:22.64 In other words, if Daniel had not gotten sick, 00:28:23.50\00:28:25.91 Gabriel would have continued giving him 00:28:26.80\00:28:28.66 Daniel 9, 10, 11, and 12. 00:28:28.76\00:28:31.28 But he gave it later. 00:28:32.55\00:28:33.87 Now, what is the central theme of Daniel 8 then? 00:32:16.31\00:32:19.60 You better believe he could. 00:32:20.07\00:32:21.50 So he says, "If I can skew the starting point, 00:32:22.98\00:32:27.95 I can eliminate the ending point." 00:32:29.20\00:32:31.08 Now notice, Satan knew this. 00:32:32.03\00:32:35.23 And therefore, he worked on the minds of the Persian kings 00:32:35.49\00:32:39.19 to try and prevent them from allowing Israel 00:32:40.70\00:32:44.28 to return to their land. 00:32:44.31\00:32:45.83 Do you know that after Israel returned in 536, 00:32:46.70\00:32:50.46 there was all sorts of opposition. 00:32:50.49\00:32:52.62 Cyrus gave a decree, and then it was revoked. 00:32:54.37\00:32:56.96 And then it was reinstated. 00:32:57.80\00:32:59.19 The people that had remained in the land fought 00:32:59.66\00:33:02.10 those who came back tooth and nail. 00:33:02.13\00:33:04.26 Why do you suppose that was? 00:33:49.77\00:33:52.48 Yeah. 00:33:52.92\00:33:53.95 There's a battle going on in Daniel chapter 10. 00:33:53.98\00:33:56.76 The prince of Persia, who is the devil, 00:33:58.38\00:34:00.44 is struggling with the kings of Persia. 00:34:00.47\00:34:03.84 And what he's doing is, he's trying to convince them 00:34:04.26\00:34:06.17 not to favor the Jewish people. 00:34:06.20\00:34:08.51 And not to give them, to tell them, "You revoke that decree." 00:34:08.77\00:34:11.93 You know, even Artaxerxes gave the decree, 00:34:12.29\00:34:14.56 and then he revoked the decree, 00:34:15.44\00:34:17.17 and then he re-enacted the decree. 00:34:17.20\00:34:19.26 I don't know if you were aware of that. 00:34:19.79\00:34:21.22 But there was huge opposition. 00:34:22.17\00:34:23.93 Because the devil did not want the 2300 day prophecy 00:34:24.35\00:34:26.94 to begin on time. 00:34:26.97\00:34:28.20 Now notice what Ellen White says in, Prophets and Kings, 00:34:28.83\00:34:31.71 page 571 and 572. 00:34:31.74\00:34:34.74 She explains what was going on. 00:34:35.60\00:34:37.25 "While Satan was striving to influence the highest powers 00:34:37.55\00:34:41.00 in the kingdom of Persia to show disfavor to God's people, 00:34:41.03\00:34:44.90 angels worked in behalf of the exiles. 00:34:45.80\00:34:48.98 The controversy was one in which all heaven was interested. 00:34:49.35\00:34:52.74 Through the prophet Daniel we are given a glimpse 00:34:53.53\00:34:55.92 of this mighty struggle between the forces of good 00:34:55.95\00:34:58.80 and the forces of evil. 00:34:58.83\00:35:00.42 For three weeks Gabriel wrestled with the powers of darkness, 00:35:00.45\00:35:04.75 seeking to counteract the influences at work 00:35:04.78\00:35:08.44 on the mind of Cyrus; and before the contest closed, 00:35:08.47\00:35:12.48 Christ Himself came to Gabriel's aid." 00:35:12.87\00:35:16.10 And you know what Michael said after this? 00:35:17.35\00:35:19.69 He says, "I've got to go now, because I've got to 00:35:19.72\00:35:22.11 continue struggling with the kings of Persia." 00:35:22.14\00:35:24.93 So is chapter 10 related to the prophecy of the 2300 days? 00:35:26.39\00:35:30.11 Yes it is. 00:35:30.14\00:35:31.19 This is a book within a book. 00:35:31.39\00:35:33.24 All of the chapters have the same central theme. 00:35:33.91\00:35:37.01 The 2300 day prophecy. 00:35:37.62\00:35:39.67 Now we need to go to chapter 11. 00:35:40.76\00:35:42.44 In chapter 11, what kingdom does this chapter begin with? 00:35:45.24\00:35:48.61 Persia. 00:35:50.06\00:35:51.15 With which kingdom did Daniel 8 begin? 00:35:52.36\00:35:54.77 Persia. 00:35:55.52\00:35:56.55 Do you know what's going to happen now in Daniel 11? 00:35:56.58\00:35:58.55 There is no new vision in Daniel 11. 00:36:00.24\00:36:02.16 Are you aware that there's no new vision in Daniel 11? 00:36:02.19\00:36:04.74 What Gabriel does, he comes back and he now says to Daniel, 00:36:06.21\00:36:09.16 "Daniel, you got sick and I wasn't able to finish. 00:36:09.19\00:36:11.49 Now I'm going to start where I started in Daniel 8, 00:36:11.52\00:36:13.62 but I'm going to take you all the way to the end." 00:36:13.65\00:36:15.63 Is that clear? 00:36:19.60\00:36:20.63 And so, now he's going to go back to where Daniel 8 began, 00:36:22.02\00:36:26.56 and he's going to take Daniel, 00:36:26.74\00:36:28.10 he's going to give Daniel the sweep. 00:36:28.53\00:36:30.23 But he's not only going to take him to the point of the 00:36:30.82\00:36:33.20 ending of the 2300 days. 00:36:33.23\00:36:34.82 He's going to take him beyond that to the final conflict. 00:36:35.02\00:36:38.14 and to the establishment of Christ's everlasting kingdom. 00:36:38.17\00:36:41.20 Which he did not have the kingdom in Daniel 8 00:36:42.73\00:36:44.67 because Daniel got sick. 00:36:44.70\00:36:45.92 So in Daniel 11, Gabriel is going to say, 00:36:45.95\00:36:48.28 "I'm going to show you the whole sweep. 00:36:48.31\00:36:49.99 And I'm going to end with the everlasting kingdom, 00:36:50.71\00:36:52.97 which I did not end with in Daniel 8." 00:36:53.00\00:36:55.52 So let's read this. 00:36:55.85\00:36:57.22 Now that which was begun and not finished in Daniel 8 00:36:57.93\00:37:00.95 will be completed in Daniel 11. 00:37:00.98\00:37:03.20 As in Daniel 8, the vision of Daniel 11 begins during the 00:37:03.95\00:37:07.59 kingdom of Persia, not Babylon. 00:37:07.62\00:37:10.00 It continues with Greece. 00:37:10.66\00:37:12.15 You can read this in Daniel 11. It's clear. 00:37:12.18\00:37:14.55 It continues with its first king 00:37:15.00\00:37:17.07 and the four divisions of Alexander's empire. 00:37:17.54\00:37:20.37 It then describes the dominion of pagan Rome. 00:37:21.15\00:37:24.06 Then it describes papal Rome in both of its stages; 00:37:25.66\00:37:30.90 during the 1260 years and at the end of time. 00:37:31.15\00:37:34.69 Verses 40 to 45 describe the papacy after the 00:37:35.27\00:37:38.73 deadly wound is healed. 00:37:38.76\00:37:40.21 The verses before that, verse 31 through verse 39, 00:37:40.92\00:37:45.16 describes the career of the papacy during the 1260 years. 00:37:45.19\00:37:48.81 But now notice. 00:37:50.30\00:37:51.52 But instead of taking us merely from the time of 00:37:52.36\00:37:54.81 the kingdom of Persia to the end of the 2300 days in 1844... 00:37:54.84\00:37:59.61 Is that where Daniel 8 ended? 00:37:59.64\00:38:01.85 "Unto 2300 days, the Sanctuary shall be cleansed." 00:38:03.26\00:38:05.60 That takes you to 1844. 00:38:05.63\00:38:07.34 But now in Daniel 11, instead of taking Daniel 00:38:08.37\00:38:11.43 only to 1844, he's going to take him all the way 00:38:11.46\00:38:15.79 to the time of the establishment of the everlasting kingdom. 00:38:15.82\00:38:18.43 He's going to take him to the time when the judgment ends, 00:38:18.46\00:38:20.96 and the time of trouble comes, and God's people are delivered, 00:38:20.99\00:38:23.82 and Christ establishes His everlasting kingdom. 00:38:23.92\00:38:26.07 Instead of taking us merely from the time of 00:38:27.45\00:38:29.73 the kingdom of Persia to the end of the 2300 days in 1844 00:38:29.76\00:38:33.90 when the judgment begins, Daniel 11 takes us 00:38:33.93\00:38:37.51 all the way from Persia to the end of that judgment 00:38:37.54\00:38:40.93 and the close of probation when Michael stands up. 00:38:40.96\00:38:43.91 So does Daniel 11 take you far beyond 1844? 00:38:45.65\00:38:49.32 It most certainly does. 00:38:49.70\00:38:51.10 And finally, in Daniel 12 verses 2 and 3, 00:38:51.50\00:38:55.09 you have a description of the climax when God's people 00:38:55.65\00:38:58.87 will resurrect and inherit the everlasting kingdom, 00:38:58.90\00:39:02.52 and the righteous will shine as stars forever and ever. 00:39:02.72\00:39:06.78 Thus, Daniel 11:1 through 12:3 take us full circle from the 00:39:07.73\00:39:13.05 time of Persia till Christ sets up His everlasting kingdom. 00:39:13.08\00:39:18.37 Isn't this incredible? 00:39:19.56\00:39:21.01 So what is the central theme of all of these chapters? 00:39:21.91\00:39:24.69 The central theme, folks, is the 2300 day prophecy. 00:39:25.90\00:39:29.57 The judgment. 00:39:29.86\00:39:31.02 All of the chapters have the same central theme. 00:39:32.13\00:39:35.98 And much of this, the judgment aspect could not be understood 00:39:37.16\00:39:40.47 until the time of the end. 00:39:40.50\00:39:41.57 So is this a book within a book? 00:39:41.60\00:39:43.73 Basically, what it's doing is, Daniel 7 gives you the inkling. 00:39:44.75\00:39:48.70 It introduces it, when it says that the Ancient of Days 00:39:48.73\00:39:51.07 goes in and He sits, and the judgment is set. 00:39:51.10\00:39:55.19 And then the Son of Man comes, He's taken before the 00:39:55.22\00:39:58.12 Ancient of Days, the judgment sits and the books are opened. 00:39:58.15\00:40:01.18 Daniel 7, at the end of the chapter, gives you the 00:40:01.21\00:40:03.84 introduction to the second book; 00:40:03.87\00:40:07.01 the idea that the judgment is going to be in heaven 00:40:08.09\00:40:10.44 and the judgment is going to be before 00:40:10.64\00:40:13.34 the second coming of Christ. 00:40:13.37\00:40:15.15 Now let's go to reason number five. 00:40:16.82\00:40:18.42 And we're going to amplify this one in the next few minutes. 00:40:20.69\00:40:23.96 We don't have a lot of time left in this particular presentation. 00:40:24.41\00:40:27.74 But we are going to deal with Revelation chapter 10 00:40:28.17\00:40:32.70 more extensively in our next session. 00:40:32.73\00:40:35.37 But let's go through the material that we have here. 00:40:35.47\00:40:37.59 The opening of the little book in Revelation 10 00:40:38.08\00:40:41.95 is a clear reference to the unsealing and opening 00:40:42.73\00:40:45.91 of the book that was sealed in Daniel 12 verse 4. 00:40:45.94\00:40:49.07 There is only one book in the Bible that was sealed 00:40:50.01\00:40:52.79 to be opened at the time of the end. 00:40:52.82\00:40:54.54 Notably, the little book of Revelation 10 00:40:55.73\00:40:58.71 is opened in the period of the sixth trumpet 00:40:58.92\00:41:01.88 at the very end of history immediately before Jesus 00:41:02.94\00:41:06.84 takes over the kingdom at the time of the seventh trumpet. 00:41:06.87\00:41:09.76 Are you catching the chronology? 00:41:11.20\00:41:12.75 In other words, the little book is opened during 00:41:14.05\00:41:15.52 the period of the sixth trumpet. 00:41:15.55\00:41:16.90 That's when you have the eating of the book. 00:41:17.64\00:41:19.27 It's sweet in the mouth, bitter in the stomach, you know. 00:41:19.30\00:41:21.62 And then after that, you have the episode 00:41:21.65\00:41:27.60 of Christ taking over the kingdom 00:41:27.90\00:41:30.80 under the seventh trumpet. 00:41:31.00\00:41:32.44 Now, we shall find in our next study that no chapter 00:41:33.31\00:41:36.15 in the Bible explains in a clearer way the origin, 00:41:36.18\00:41:39.55 message, mission, and destiny of God's end time remnant people 00:41:39.82\00:41:44.70 than Revelation 10. 00:41:45.13\00:41:46.43 It is no coincidence that the central theme 00:41:48.01\00:41:50.90 of the Millerites who preached at the beginning of the 00:41:51.29\00:41:54.26 time of the end was drawn 00:41:54.29\00:41:58.04 and Revelation 14:6-7. 00:41:58.07\00:42:00.10 The eating of the little book of Revelation 10 00:42:00.89\00:42:04.17 clearly indicates the judgment hour preaching 00:42:04.20\00:42:06.57 of the Millerite movement and its subsequent disappointment. 00:42:06.60\00:42:09.51 Let me ask you, did the Millerites gobble up 00:42:11.27\00:42:14.07 the little book? 00:42:14.10\00:42:15.35 Oh yeah. 00:42:15.77\00:42:16.80 Was it sweet? 00:42:17.52\00:42:18.78 Ooh it so sweet. 00:42:19.06\00:42:20.82 Why was it sweet? 00:42:20.85\00:42:22.10 They thought Jesus was coming back. 00:42:23.21\00:42:24.72 First in 1843, then they re-adjusted it. 00:42:25.01\00:42:29.36 And then finally they settled on October 22, 1844. 00:42:30.37\00:42:33.89 And Ellen White says that the coming of Jesus 00:42:33.92\00:42:37.61 was something that brought joy to everyone. 00:42:37.64\00:42:41.48 She said that was the happiest year of her life, 00:42:41.51\00:42:44.01 the year that led up to the great disappointment. 00:42:44.53\00:42:46.98 So the experience was sweet. 00:42:47.81\00:42:49.55 These people loved Jesus. 00:42:49.75\00:42:51.36 They wanted to see Jesus come. 00:42:51.56\00:42:53.30 And then when October 22, 1844 ended, 00:42:54.24\00:42:56.89 ooh the bitterness. 00:42:57.66\00:42:58.76 I'm going to read you some statements 00:42:58.79\00:43:00.47 from the pioneers after Jesus didn't come. 00:43:00.50\00:43:03.59 Wow. 00:43:04.07\00:43:05.10 Their hopes were dashed. 00:43:05.96\00:43:07.65 But they didn't totally lose hope. 00:43:08.82\00:43:10.49 Because they went back to studying Scripture. 00:43:11.58\00:43:13.63 And they said, "We missed the fact that the judgment 00:43:14.35\00:43:21.08 is going to have a heavenly phase before Jesus comes 00:43:21.11\00:43:24.85 to take over the kingdom." 00:43:24.88\00:43:26.28 In a parable Jesus says that we are to be individuals 00:43:27.77\00:43:31.09 that wait for the return of the Master from the wedding. 00:43:31.12\00:43:34.41 In other words, the wedding takes place in heaven. 00:43:34.61\00:43:36.48 And we are there in absentia. 00:43:36.75\00:43:38.79 And then Jesus comes to get His people. 00:43:40.65\00:43:43.55 But He determines His kingdom before. 00:43:44.05\00:43:45.89 The Millerites did not understand that. 00:43:46.09\00:43:48.14 So the acid test of what this little book is 00:43:49.69\00:43:52.69 is found in history. 00:43:52.72\00:43:54.20 It was fulfilled in history; in 1844. 00:43:55.50\00:43:58.75 Now interestingly enough, the eating of the little book 00:44:00.15\00:44:03.52 in Revelation 10 clearly describes the judgment 00:44:03.55\00:44:06.09 hour preaching of the Millerite movement 00:44:06.12\00:44:07.97 and its subsequent disappointment. 00:44:08.00\00:44:10.09 After the disappointment, John was told to what? 00:44:10.49\00:44:13.44 Prophesy again. 00:44:14.01\00:44:15.56 Prophesy again from where? 00:44:16.43\00:44:18.03 Where did the prophecy come from the first time? 00:44:20.47\00:44:22.71 From the little book? 00:44:23.74\00:44:24.98 So it says, "You have to prophesy again 00:44:25.57\00:44:27.25 from the little book. 00:44:27.28\00:44:28.47 Because you didn't get it right the first time." 00:44:28.81\00:44:30.84 And he was commanded then to what? 00:44:32.40\00:44:34.37 Wow, to measure the temple. 00:44:35.26\00:44:37.13 And what is the measuring of the temple? 00:44:37.16\00:44:38.84 The investigative judgment. 00:44:39.76\00:44:41.29 See, after the disappointment, in the very next verse 00:44:41.96\00:44:46.41 you have the investigative judgment. 00:44:47.03\00:44:48.86 By the way, when it says, "You must prophesy again," 00:44:49.08\00:44:51.33 where is the message found in Revelation prophesying again? 00:44:51.36\00:44:56.02 Revelation chapter 14; the three angels' messages. 00:44:57.05\00:45:00.94 In other words, after the disappointment, God's people 00:45:02.60\00:45:05.07 were called upon to present another message 00:45:05.10\00:45:07.56 from the book of Daniel. 00:45:07.59\00:45:08.83 And that message had to do with the measuring of the 00:45:09.24\00:45:12.29 heavenly temple, which is the investigative judgment. 00:45:12.32\00:45:15.72 Concerning the unsealing of the little book, 00:45:16.35\00:45:18.17 Ellen White remarks, "It was the lion of the tribe of Judah 00:45:18.20\00:45:22.71 who unsealed the book and gave to John the revelation 00:45:23.34\00:45:27.91 of what should be in these last days. 00:45:27.94\00:45:30.39 Daniel stood in his lot to bear his testimony, 00:45:30.98\00:45:34.28 which was sealed until the time of the end," 00:45:34.49\00:45:36.87 now notice this, "until the time of the end when..." What? 00:45:36.90\00:45:40.36 "...when the first angel's message should be 00:45:41.25\00:45:44.00 proclaimed to our world." 00:45:44.03\00:45:45.43 So what is the unsealing of the book? 00:45:45.46\00:45:47.55 It is preaching what? 00:45:47.58\00:45:48.99 The first angel's message, "The hour of His judgment has come." 00:45:49.45\00:45:53.31 These matters are of infinite importance in these last days. 00:45:54.47\00:45:58.17 But while many shall be purified and made white 00:45:58.20\00:46:00.58 and tried, the wicked shall do wickedly, 00:46:00.61\00:46:03.18 and none of the wicked shall understand. 00:46:03.21\00:46:05.15 The book of Daniel is unsealed in the revelation to John 00:46:05.18\00:46:08.90 and carries us forward to the last scenes 00:46:08.93\00:46:12.02 of this earth's history. 00:46:12.05\00:46:14.53 So as we studied the structure of the book of Daniel, 00:46:15.65\00:46:18.69 we discovered that Daniel is one book composed of two books. 00:46:19.82\00:46:24.84 One book is self contained; Daniel 1 through 7. 00:46:25.84\00:46:28.49 The chapters relate to each other in a chiastic fashion. 00:46:29.34\00:46:33.57 And then Daniel 8 through 12 amplifies the theme of 00:46:33.95\00:46:38.80 the last verses of Daniel 7 in speaking about 00:46:38.83\00:46:41.98 the 2300 days and the investigative judgment. 00:46:42.01\00:46:45.30 Did you understand what we studied? 00:46:45.40\00:46:46.77 It's marvelous, isn't it? 00:46:47.03\00:46:48.36 How important is it to understand the structure? 00:46:48.46\00:46:51.90 It's vital. 00:46:52.55\00:46:53.67 You know, people say, "Well, just love Jesus." 00:46:54.12\00:46:56.59 Well yeah, I think we need to love Jesus. 00:46:57.21\00:46:59.04 That's good. 00:46:59.07\00:47:00.10 So if it's, "Just love Jesus," why don't we have only in 00:47:00.33\00:47:03.05 the Bible, "For God so loved the world that He gave 00:47:03.08\00:47:05.02 His only begotten Son." 00:47:05.05\00:47:06.33 If it's just a matter of loving Jesus, 00:47:07.94\00:47:09.56 just give us one verse. 00:47:09.59\00:47:11.33 The fact is, that as we study these things, 00:47:12.76\00:47:14.89 we love Jesus more and more. 00:47:14.92\00:47:16.73 Because no human mind could have done this. 00:47:18.21\00:47:20.73 No human mind could have devised this unity 00:47:21.39\00:47:23.79 that exists in the book of Daniel. 00:47:24.39\00:47:25.90 And God wants us to be prepared for the coming of Jesus. 00:47:26.39\00:47:29.21 Now let's notice here, we have about 10 minutes left, 00:47:30.17\00:47:33.03 and so we can introduce our next study. 00:47:33.06\00:47:36.20 And then we'll continue after we take a break. 00:47:37.44\00:47:39.96 The origin, identity, mission, and message of the remnant. 00:47:41.46\00:47:45.72 This will absorb the rest of our time. 00:47:45.92\00:47:48.33 There is no passage in Scripture that better describes 00:47:49.87\00:47:55.66 the origin, message, identity, and mission 00:47:56.00\00:47:59.71 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church 00:48:00.15\00:48:01.94 than Revelation 10. 00:48:01.97\00:48:03.31 This is a critically important chapter in the self-identity 00:48:03.81\00:48:08.43 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 00:48:08.46\00:48:10.39 Let's read the passage so we have it clear in our minds. 00:48:11.05\00:48:15.61 "I saw still another mighty angel..." 00:48:16.71\00:48:20.66 This is not just an ordinary angel. 00:48:21.27\00:48:22.96 It is a mighty angel. 00:48:22.99\00:48:24.65 "...coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. 00:48:25.18\00:48:28.92 And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, 00:48:29.67\00:48:35.44 and his feet like pillars of fire." 00:48:35.79\00:48:38.86 Who do you think this angel is?
