man named Hesitant Harry,

remember him?

And his name was Harry
Truman, not our 33rd president.

But a man that lived in
the shadow of Spirit Lake

in the shadow of Mount St. Helen

there in Spirit
Lake in Washington State.

Well, Hesitant Harry,

reason why they
call him hesitant

is because he had
received a number of warnings

from the US Geological Survey,

that there was an
earthquake possible
00:05:42.17\00:05:44.31
and a volcanic eruption.
00:05:44.34\00:05:46.78
But Harry loved
Spirit Lake so much he said,

"I'm one with Spirit Lake.
00:05:48.78\00:05:50.78
Spirit Lake is one with me.

This is my home.
I'm not going anywhere.

I've survived all of
the warnings in the past,

and this is not
gonna be any different."

Well, when 1980 came

and the eruption
of Mount St. Helen

caught the
attention of the world,

Hesitant Harry was
one of the first victims

of that tragic day.

And what was the incident?

The incident was the
eruption of Mount St. Helens.

But the tragedy
could have been averted

if he had simply paid
attention to the signs.

The signs were there.
