And without the Spirit of God,

the church can continue,

but the Holy Spirit worked

in the lives of
the prophets of old.

From Old Testament
times to New Testament times,

the Holy Spirit was active.

And what is the very first word?

servants and prophets.

you're a servant of God,

Can you imagine being in an army

what the general is doing,

the sergeant is doing,

about the direction

that you need to take,

we live in a world

where so many people
claim to be prophets of God.

I mean, you could,

fortunetelling days,

lot of people today claim
to have that gift of prophecy,

they claim to be able to
know what God is going to do.

And one of the reasons

why there's so much
confusion in our world today

is because not
everyone is God's servants.

So what we have is
many people are guessing,

they're trying to come
up with what they think

what God is going to do.

But they don't know
because they are not...

They are not what? Holy.

age of the ability to create.

I was looking
at a pair of shoes,

and I didn't know
if they were leather

or pleather.

They looked apart,

they look like they were real
00:08:22.30\00:08:23.63
but I, you know what I did?

I smell them.

I sniffed them.

Because leather has a scent

that pleather doesn't have.

But I thought that was a case,

until one day I
ran into a manufacturer

that actually
sprayed their pleather

to smell like leather.

So what I have to do,
I have to read the label,

manmade material but
he said it's so good.

And not too many months ago,

I saw a commercial

where they set up
a store in a mall,

and they give it
a high fashion name

and they sold
the shoes for $100,

you saw that,
00:09:04.27\00:09:05.61
they sold the shoes
for $300, $400, $600

and people came in
with the deep pockets,

they were buying the shoes,
it was a hoax, it was a prank.

And in the news they showed,

they walked up to the people

that have just paid
$500 for a pair of sneakers

and they didn't let
them leave the store.

But they said,

"Do you know who
made these shoes?"

And they put a
designers name on it.

They said, these
shoes are from Payless

and they were
willing to pay for it, why?

Because in the store,

the store looked
00:09:36.34\00:09:37.97
like what was
inside of it was genuine.

And so today,

we see preachers
that look genuine,

we see churches
that look genuine,
00:09:45.01\00:09:47.95
we see houses of
worship that look genuine,

but you have to examine
00:09:51.65\00:09:52.99
what an individual says
in harmony with God's Word

to know whether or not
that person is genuine.

Look at 2 Corinthians 11,

just one more before we
go to question number nine,

it's really important.

and I'm looking at verse 13.

And the Apostle Paul,

he was confronted on
several occasions with those

that claim to have
the ability and the gift.

Matter of fact, they were those
00:10:18.05\00:10:19.38
that saw the
Spirit of God working
00:10:19.41\00:10:20.75
in the lives of the apostles.
00:10:20.78\00:10:22.12
And they wanted the power,
but they ran face to face,

they ran face to face
into the enemy, the devil,
00:10:25.29\00:10:27.96
and you know the
rest of the story.

Or if you don't know
the rest of the story,

a demon jumped on them

and stripped them
off all their clothing.

And all they
wanted was the power,

power is your focus

but they're called
ministers of Satan,

"also transform themselves

We think that there is
light but there is no light.

And today in the world we live,

we cannot determine anything
based on exterior components,

listen and be careful,

everything that is being said

by what the Word of God

we're very technologically
advanced in this country,

and some of us wake up every day

thinking of a new
thing, or new way, a new idea

on how to gain access
to electronics in America.

And I thought that was
only adversarial countries.

heard about a guy that,

because he was so good
at counterfeiting things,

he was the reason why
they have on dollar bills,

pictures that you can
only detect by certain light

or certain chemicals in the bill

that can only be detected
by certain types of ink.
