talk about something that,

but there are a number of people

confused about this thing

and they blame God
for things He does not do,

and they don't give God credit
for things that He does to.

we're gonna talk about

because the Bible
helps us to understand

that there is a devil

and some people
don't believe that.

Some people don't
think there is a devil.

And there are
different ideas about the devil

and some people
think that he's red,

and has a long red
tail, and a pitchfork,

and that he has horns.

And so what does the
Bible say about the devil?

Where did he come
from? What is he up to?

And there are some
people that believe those

that worship the
devil that they are,

we believe for
they are Christians

that God is gonna bless us
with eternal life without pain,

or suffering, or
sickness, nor death.

While those that worship Satan,
I don't know if they all do,

but the one that I talk to
an individual that I talk to,

he believed that he
was gonna have a party

throughout eternity.

but that's not
what the Bible says

that happens to the wicked.

Bible and ask for the Lord

14, we have a scripture

that tells us a wonderful thing
concerning Jesus and it says,

the Father, but by me."

And so we have
that Jesus is the way,

the truth and the life.

And if you want life
and life more abundantly,

what does he look like?

describe his features to you,

you that the Bible says

that he was an angel of light.

Now his features have changed
somewhat throughout the years

because time has passed

and he is no longer
able to receive the blessing

of being in the
presence of the Lord.

So let's go to the
question, who is Satan?

Where did he come
from and what does he want?

Why does he bother us so much?

I think everyone

the devil is wicked.

So 1 Peter 5:8 is
the first scripture

that we're gonna go
through concerning the devil

and what the Bible
says concerning him.

And so in 1 Peter 5:8,
if you found it, say amen.

So we have at least
two witnesses we read.

So the scriptures tell
us that he is an adversary,

also causing the
devil and a roaring lion,

walking about,
seeking whom he may devour.

So what does he want?
He wants to destroy us.

He wants to devour us.

Now this of course doesn't
mean that he looks like a lion.

It's using the
lion as a reference

wants to do with us.

do when they're hungry

prey, watches them carefully

not taking notice of him

he's got the best opportunity,

he races towards them
to tear them to pieces

So he does not
announce that he is coming

neither does the devil

he is very sneaky.

seeking whom he may devour
because that's what he does,

he wants to devour us.

So what should we do?

Where do we look for help?

Where do we find shelter?

That shelter is in Jesus Christ.

any reference to the devil

working behind the scenes,

scenes doing his crafty work.

And that's why you see him
going to the Garden of Eden,

mention him the devil,

but the devil uses a serpent

as an instrument
to do his bidding.

And so later you see
that he's still at work

because you see
that Cain killed Abel.

Does it say that
the devil worked behind?

and how he kills
his brother Abel?

No, but the devil is
working behind the scene,

putting thoughts
in people's minds.

The first time that
the devil is mentioned

thing concerning him.

The wicked one, in 1 John

and one of course is

different types of references

reference concerning the devil

fall from heaven like lightning.

so his original place
of residence was in heaven,

and we'll talk about
that in a little bit.

Yeah, the next time you hear
or you see in the scriptures

mentioning the
devil is in Job 1,

that a little bit later.

how much success he
has had in the past.

When you look in Genesis
6:5-6, you get a picture that

Satan has had
some degree of success

and unfortunately it
is a very terrible thing

described in Genesis 6:5-6.

And the Bible says, "And God saw

that the wickedness of
man was great in the earth,

and that every imagination
of the thoughts of his heart

was only evil continually.

And it repented the Lord that
he had made man on the earth,

and it grieved
him at his heart."

So we see here that
the devil was successful

to some great degree

during the first
multitude of human beings

that existed upon the earth.

The thoughts of their heart
were only evil continually.

the devil wants to make

Does he want to lead people

So we need to know
what the Bible says

being a victim of the devil.

was once an exalted angel.

This angel was an exalted being,

he was a covering cherub.

That means he was
next to God's throne

The study would reveal
that basically, it's like this.

God created Lucifer perfect

thorough examination

of Lucifer from
the day he was created

and you'll find no trace
of evil, no trace of sin,

it was the working
of Lucifer himself.

Let's look in Ezekiel
28:17, notice what it says,

up because of thy beauty,

thou hast corrupted thy wisdom
by reason of thy brightness.

I will cast thee to the ground,

that they may behold thee."

So it says, the Bible tells
us that he corrupted himself

tells us concerning Lucifer

that eventually became Satan.

concerning the devil

where he came from
and what happened to him.

that old serpent

and his angels
were cast out with him."

So after Lucifer
caused a great war,

you will notice that he
caused a great war in heaven,

and as a matter of fact

it tells us that
he was successful

in deceiving a third
of the angels of heaven.

A third of the angels of
heaven, how many is that?

The Bible uses, that doesn't
give us a specific number

but concerning the
angels that remained with God,

thousands of thousands

times ten thousands.

from a particular restaurant.

You know, I've heard
some people and unfortunate,

gone through that experience.

they lost a loved one,

one month and
maybe the next month

they lose another one,

or in the same year
they lose another one,

it's sad and tragic
what happens in this world.

That's why God
promises a better world

where there is
no sickness, pain,

no death, and no diseases.

This is the devil

read this and think that

What the scripture
is simply saying is that

God is saying to the devil,
"I'm going to put enmity."

Satan is a deceiver and a liar
