and when you talk about

there's really nothing basic,

but I would primarily
say the basic understanding.

Now let me just broaden that

because there is a
conception or a belief

that the Holy Spirit

was not available
until after Jesus left.

But if that was the case

then everyone in
the Old Testament

was in trouble.

But you go all the
way back to Genesis 6

and you find this phrase,

"My spirit will not
always strive with man."

So the spirit has
been working on the hearts

and lives of men and women
ever since the entrance of sin,

ever since the Garden of Eden.

And we find the
references throughout the Bible.

Matter of fact,

the reason why the
prophets were able to prophesy

is they had the
Spirit of Prophecy.

They could not know
anything about prophecy

except the spirit
had revealed it to them.

That's why Elisha
prayed for a double portion

of the spirit that Elijah had.

Spirit of God has worked

Old and New Testament.

What differed though,
after the ascension of Jesus,

He chose,

and we're gonna go over this

but He chose to carry the gospel

to the rest of the world.

But He was beginning with men

that did not have
that natural ability

to talk the
language of the entire world.

And so He said,

do one of two things,

you can either go back to school

for the next 20 years

languages of all the people

assemble at Jerusalem

for you miraculously."

And so the Lord shows,

don't have all the time

for you to go back to these

universities and centers
of learning and education,

what cannot be done adequately

Now let's go very quickly,

So how do you do that except

communicate with those nations?

for three and half years,

than that were all Galileans.

through them and for them

and you surprise them with it.

Because they have that gift.

the gift of teaching,

Each person has
a different gift.

And these gifts as the
Lord has appointed them

we all are together,
