00:20 Hello and welcome to A Sharper Focus.
00:23 Welcome once again 00:24 to the Wednesday night Bible study 00:26 that it comes to you 00:27 from the Thompsonville Seventh-day Adventist Church, 00:30 of course, with Three Angels Broadcasting Network 00:33 that's bringing these messages to you with the hope 00:36 that you will find Jesus Christ 00:39 and that you will believe in God's Holy Word, 00:41 the Holy Scriptures 00:43 which are able to make us wise unto salvation. 00:45 Once again, we invite those 00:47 that are in the local area of Thompsonville, Illinois 00:50 to join us on Wednesday night's right here 00:52 in the church which is also a studio, 00:55 and you're welcome to participate here with us. 00:57 Of course, there's also church service on Saturday morning, 01:01 Sabbath morning as we call it. 01:02 And you can begin at 9:15 am, 01:05 and I believe you'll be blessed. 01:06 There are good people here that love the Lord 01:08 and will also stretch out their hands to you. 01:11 And it's a family atmosphere, so I praise the Lord 01:15 for the Thompsonville Seventh-day Adventist Church 01:17 and for Three Angels Broadcasting Network, 01:19 24 hours a day preaching the gospel 01:21 all around the world, 01:23 and we really need your prayers. 01:25 Speaking of our prayer, 01:26 we would like to go to the Lord in prayer now 01:28 to ask for His blessing in this Bible study. 01:31 Let us pray. 01:34 Our loving Heavenly Father, 01:36 we thank You so much for Your goodness and mercy. 01:41 We thank You, Lord, 01:42 that You look upon us when no one else will. 01:45 We thank You, Lord, that You think about us, protect us, 01:49 and are always watching over us. 01:51 We thank You for supplying that which we need. 01:55 And, Father, in this moment, 01:56 we approach Your throne of grace 01:57 to ask for the blessing of Your Holy Spirit. 02:00 We pray that every word spoken 02:02 will come from Your throne of grace. 02:04 Show us great and mighty things in thy Holy Scriptures. 02:08 And we pray for blessing upon everyone that is here 02:11 and everyone that joins us from anywhere in the world. 02:14 And we thank You for hearing our prayer, 02:16 for we ask it in the mighty and the blessed name of Jesus. 02:20 Amen, amen. 02:23 Well, this is part three of a study 02:25 we've been doing on what happens when you die, 02:27 what is the state of the dead, 02:29 are they alive somewhere, are they suffering in hell, 02:33 are they in heaven if they were good, or are they, 02:36 as I said, in hell burning if they were bad. 02:39 We have looked at scriptures, 02:40 and we are trying to make 02:43 one of the final studies on this. 02:46 I say for my participation, 02:48 we may continue this topic another time. 02:49 There are some scriptures 02:51 that some find difficult to understand. 02:54 We will not be able to cover all of these 02:56 during this particular moment, 02:58 but we hope to go through some of them 03:02 and ask for the Lord's blessing to help us understand them. 03:06 So we're going to do a little refresher from previous times 03:10 and that takes us directly to John 11. 03:13 We're going to read John 11:11-14. 03:18 In John 11:11-14, 03:20 we find the words of Jesus 03:22 that tell us the following things. 03:25 I hear some pages turning. 03:27 We begin reading verse 11, "These things said He, 03:30 and after that He saith unto them, 03:32 Our friend Lazarus sleepeth, but I go, 03:36 that I may awake him out of sleep. 03:39 Then said his disciples, 03:40 Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. 03:45 Howbeit, or however, Jesus spoke of his death: 03:49 but they thought that he had spoken 03:51 of taking of rest in sleep. 03:54 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, 03:56 Lazarus is dead." 03:59 So we see here that Jesus Himself said 04:03 that the first death 04:04 or the death we die upon this earth 04:06 because of some illness, someone kills us, 04:10 or some other tragedy, accident. 04:14 Jesus and the Bible calls it a sleepover 50 times. 04:17 The word sleep is found 04:19 for someone that has passed away. 04:22 And what we're going to do during this study 04:25 is focus more on what happens to the righteous 04:28 and what happens to the wicked 04:30 when Jesus Christ returns, 04:32 and we're going to look 04:34 at the scriptures about these things. 04:36 I would like to point to you to one individual 04:39 that is said to have fallen asleep or died. 04:42 And we go to 1 Kings 2, 04:45 1 Kings 2 to find that scripture, 04:48 and we're going to look at verse 10. 04:50 1 Kings 2:10. 04:53 If you have found it, say amen. 04:56 Okay, we have one, we need one more. 04:59 Amen. Praise the Lord. 05:00 Okay, 1 Kings 2:10 tells us the following, 05:04 "So David," that is David the King, 05:07 "slept with his fathers, 05:09 and was buried in the city of David." 05:14 So concerning King David, 05:16 it states that he slept with his fathers 05:21 and was buried in the city of David. 05:22 In other words, he died and that's why he was buried. 05:24 You don't bury people that are just sleeping, 05:26 common sleep, otherwise, 05:28 none of us would be here, right? 05:31 So David slept with his fathers. 05:33 That's the testimony of the Old Testament. 05:36 When we move over to the Book of Acts, 05:39 we will find a declaration by Peter 05:42 on the day of Pentecost. 05:45 Acts 2, and we're going to read verse 29 first, 05:49 and then we're going to skip down to verse 34. 05:52 But let's go to verse 29. 05:55 Acts 2:29, this is what the Bible says, 05:59 "Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you 06:04 of the patriarch David, 06:06 that he is both dead and buried, 06:10 and his sepulchre is with us unto this day." 06:14 Confirming what you just read in 1 Kings 2:10, 06:19 David died and was buried. 06:21 And here Peter is saying that he is dead and buried 06:27 and his sepulchre is placed 06:28 where he's resting in the grave is right here. 06:31 But notice what happens in verse 34. 06:34 Acts 2:34, are you ready? 06:38 "For David is not ascended into the heavens, 06:44 but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, 06:47 Sit thou on my right hand, 06:50 until I make thine enemies thy footstool." 06:54 So we see here that David is not what ascended to heaven, 06:59 David is considered one of the great Bible heroes. 07:02 One of the Bible heroes that the Bible says 07:07 he was a man after God's own heart. 07:10 Yes, the Bible registers that he committed sins. 07:12 However, when you look at Psalms 51, 07:15 he fully repented, 07:17 and he was a man after God's own heart. 07:19 In other words, he followed the Lord with all of his heart. 07:22 And so, what do we expect of David? 07:26 We expect to see David enjoying eternal life, 07:31 but Peter declares that he is not ascended to heaven. 07:35 Now there are some people that believe that when you die, 07:38 you go straight to heaven if you've been good, 07:41 if you've been bad, you go straight to hell 07:43 as we've mentioned before. 07:45 But Peter says that David is not in heaven. 07:47 So where is David? 07:48 Well, he just said his sepulchre is with us, 07:51 he is right here, so what is David doing? 07:53 Absolutely nothing. 07:55 He is waiting for the resurrection. 07:57 You see the Bible establishes 07:58 that there are two resurrections. 08:00 And we're going to look at scriptures 08:01 that declare that very, very plainly. 08:04 Let us move over to Genesis 2. 08:08 In Genesis 2, we are going to find out 08:14 how we got a little bit into the mess that we are in. 08:17 In Genesis 2, we are going to... 08:20 Actually, it's in verse 3 08:22 that we find out what happened to this human race. 08:24 But in Genesis 2, God makes a declaration, 08:28 and here we have what He is explaining 08:31 as the punishment for evildoing. 08:35 The punishment for sin, 08:37 and this is what He establishes in Genesis 2, 08:40 we're going to read verse 16 and verse 17. 08:43 Ready? Let us read. 08:45 "And the Lord God commanded the man, 08:48 saying, 'Of every tree of the garden 08:52 thou mayest freely eat. 08:55 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, 08:59 thou shalt not eat of it for in the day 09:02 that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.'" 09:07 So what did God declare would be the punishment 09:11 for their disobedience, 09:12 in other words, for their sin, they would die. 09:17 Now some people have come along and want to change that. 09:19 They want to change that to burning in hell 09:22 forever and ever without end, the Bible doesn't state 09:25 and that's what is the punishment for sin. 09:28 The Bible says the punishment for sin is death, 09:31 and we just read it in Genesis 2:17. 09:34 So do we have God saying anything else 09:36 other than this in the Bible? 09:38 No, we don't. 09:39 It is repeated over and over 09:41 that those that are wicked will die. 09:45 Now I'm talking about the punishment for sin. 09:47 We all know that because sin entering into the world, 09:52 we are all subjected to death, 09:54 the first death which is not necessarily 09:56 a punishment for sin, 09:58 but a result of either bad eating 10:01 or because somebody kills us, 10:04 we eat some poison and we die, 10:07 or somebody kills us, 10:08 or we are somehow involved in an accident, 10:12 and we die in one of those circumstances, 10:14 but the punishment for sin, 10:16 the Bible declares comes after the first death, 10:20 and we will look at that as we continue. 10:22 We hope you follow along 10:24 and write down some of these scriptures 10:25 so that you can continue studying them. 10:27 So in Genesis 3, somebody comes to oppose what God says. 10:34 Genesis 3:4, and we know this to be the serpent, 10:39 the devil that came to tempt Adam and Eve. 10:43 It is registered that he tempted Eve, 10:45 and Eve, of course, 10:47 later became a tool for the devil 10:49 to use to get Adam involved in sinning. 10:53 Genesis 3:4, the Bible says, 10:55 "And the serpent said unto the woman, 10:59 ye shall not surely die." 11:04 So we have here somebody opposing God. 11:07 What did God say? 11:08 "When you eat up the fruit, you are going to die. 11:11 You are going to commit sin, it will be a sin, 11:12 you have disobeyed my expressed command and you will die." 11:17 Satan comes along and says, "You will not surely die." 11:21 And unfortunately, many have fallen into the same idea 11:24 that the devil presented to Eve, 11:25 and they tell people, when you die, 11:28 if you've been wicked, you're not going to die. 11:30 I mean when you sin, if you're wicked and you die, 11:33 you're not going to die, 11:35 you're going to keep on living in hell forever and ever 11:38 and burning and burning. 11:39 Does the Bible say that? No. 11:41 That is something that Satan introduced in the beginning 11:45 in Genesis 3. 11:47 And so, we want to continue our study to see 11:50 what the Bible tells us. 11:51 So in Ezekiel 18:20, 11:54 we've looked at these verses in previous studies, 11:57 so we're going to quickly look at them again. 12:00 Some people cling to the word soul, 12:03 and somehow they want to give 12:07 immortality to the soul. 12:11 We've done some studying about the soul in previous programs. 12:16 We're not going to dwell on it, we're simply going to state 12:18 what the Bible says concerning the soul. 12:21 Ezekiel 18:20, Ezekiel 18:20, 12:26 and if you have found it, say amen. 12:30 Amen. 12:31 This is what the Bible says, 12:33 "The soul that sinneth, it shall die." 12:37 Very clear statement. 12:39 "The soul that sinneth, it shall die." 12:41 It says, "The son shall not bear 12:44 the iniquity of the father, 12:46 neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son. 12:49 The righteousness of the righteous 12:51 shall be upon him, 12:52 and the wickedness of the wicked 12:54 shall be upon him." 12:55 In other words, every one will pay for their own sins. 12:58 You're not going to pay for somebody else's sins, 13:00 you will be responsible for your own sin. 13:04 Now that's Ezekiel 18:20. 13:07 Let's move to Ezekiel 18:26 13:10 and see what the Bible tells us in verse 26. 13:13 It is written, "When a righteous man turneth away 13:20 from his righteousness," what happens? 13:24 "And committeth iniquity, and dieth in them, 13:28 for his iniquity that he hath done he shall die." 13:34 In other words, you see here that two deaths are mentioned. 13:39 If a man... 13:40 If a righteous person turns to doing evil, 13:45 and then dies in that state of doing evil 13:48 and does not repent. 13:50 The Bible says, the punishment 13:52 for living a life of wickedness, it says, 13:55 "For his iniquity that he had done, he shall die." 13:57 Two deaths are mentioned here. 14:01 Ezekiel 33:11, we're still in Ezekiel. 14:06 Ezekiel 33:11, 14:09 notice the wonderful words of the Lord, 14:14 notice the wonderful words of the Lord. 14:16 Ezekiel 33:11, "Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, 14:23 I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, 14:28 but that the wicked turn from his way and live," amen? 14:35 Amen. 14:36 Now notice what he says, 14:38 "Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways, 14:41 for why will ye die, O house of Israel?" 14:46 So we see here God making a statement. 14:48 He doesn't have pleasure 14:50 when somebody dies in wickedness. 14:54 There is another verse that says 14:55 something a little different about the righteous dying, 15:00 and we're going to look at that in a moment. 15:01 But God has no pleasure. 15:02 If you're living a life of evil, 15:05 God is not going to be happy that you die. 15:07 God is not going to be happy 15:09 that you have to pay for your sins. 15:11 He doesn't have pleasure in that. 15:14 And apparently, some people think that God does, 15:17 and He does not. 15:19 The Bible says that God is love, 15:21 and in His perfect love, 15:22 loves every single individual in the world, 15:25 whether they be good or whether they be evil, 15:27 but he has to be righteous, he has to be just and fair, 15:32 and those that decide to live a life of evil 15:36 will have to pay for those things 15:38 as sad as it is 15:40 and as hurtful as it will be to God, 15:43 He does not delight in people that have to die 15:46 because of their sins. 15:48 I want you to invite you to join me 15:49 in Psalms 116... 15:53 116. 15:57 And in Psalms 116, we're going to read verse 15. 16:01 Psalms 116:15, I hear some pages turning, 16:08 we'll wait a moment. 16:09 Here in Psalms 116:15, we have a statement 16:12 that's slightly different from the one we've read 16:14 because now it's talking about the righteous, 16:16 the previous one we read was about 16:18 the wicked, the evil people. 16:20 Notice Psalms 116:15, 16:24 "Precious in the sight of the Lord 16:28 is the death of his saints. 16:31 Precious in the sight of the Lord 16:34 is the death of his saints." 16:36 Why the difference? 16:37 Because the righteous, 16:39 the saints when they die living a life of pleasing God, 16:45 living a life of righteousness, 16:47 they have placed themselves in the hands of the Lord, 16:50 believe in the Lord, and they know that by grace, 16:54 they are saved through faith. 16:55 It is not of themselves, it is a gift of God. 16:58 When they die, 16:59 they know that they will be living eternal life 17:04 and God is pleased that they have died in righteousness 17:07 instead of wickedness, 17:08 because God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, 17:11 but He has pleasure in the death of the righteous 17:15 because He knows He's going to resurrect them 17:17 from the death to live eternal life for ever and ever. 17:20 Amen and amen. 17:22 So there's a difference between the two. 17:25 So at this point, I would like to invite you to join me 17:29 in 2 Peter 3:9, 17:32 God has no pleasure in the death of him that dies 17:36 and He has done 17:40 all that could possibly done to save everyone. 17:44 And the Bible states very clearly 17:46 and everyone knows this scripture 17:49 that He gave His Son 17:51 so that we could have eternal life. 17:53 We're going to read that verse a little later on. 17:55 But in 2 Peter 3:9, 17:58 bringing that thought a little further 18:00 that God has no pleasure in the death of him 18:02 that dies in his wickedness. 18:04 In 2 Peter 3:9, the Bible tells us, 18:07 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, 18:11 as some men count slackness, 18:14 but is longsuffering to us-ward, 18:16 not willing that any should perish, 18:19 but that all should come to repentance." 18:23 Amen, amen. 18:25 So God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, 18:29 and He hopes and He wants every one to repent 18:33 and makes an effort in the heart of each individual 18:36 so that they will repent. 18:37 Unfortunately, hundreds, thousands, 18:41 I dare say millions will not repent 18:45 and instead of enjoying eternal life 18:47 without pain, suffering, or sickness, 18:50 or death, just peace and happiness, 18:53 and enjoying all the great things 18:55 that God has created and made, 18:57 and we will see things 18:58 unlike anything we have seen on this earth. 19:00 Some people sometimes go on vacation, 19:02 and they see beautiful beaches, 19:04 I know there aren't that many here in Southern Illinois, 19:07 but sometimes they go and see beautiful beaches, 19:09 beautiful mountains, rivers, and lakes, 19:13 flowers, and animals of all kinds 19:15 all around the world. 19:16 There are some beautiful things 19:17 here in Southern Illinois as well, 19:19 but when they go on these vacations, 19:20 and sometimes people think Hawaii, 19:23 sometimes people think of some other place in the Caribbean 19:26 and beautiful mountains in Europe and other places, 19:30 and they say, "Wow! 19:32 Beautiful." 19:33 But the things that God has for us 19:37 throughout eternity will far surpass anything 19:40 that we can see or have seen upon this earth 19:43 because the things that we see that are still beautiful 19:46 have been affected by the sin that has come into this world. 19:52 So I tell you, there is much more to see 19:55 and great and wonderful things. 19:58 So, now we ask the question, what happens, 20:02 when will the righteous receive their reward, 20:05 and when will the wicked receive their reward? 20:08 When you talk about reward, 20:11 it sounds like something good, doesn't it? 20:13 But there is a reward for doing evil, 20:15 and we will read that as we go on. 20:18 So I want to tell you that when Jesus Christ returns, 20:22 when Jesus Christ returns, 20:24 there are some categories of people. 20:28 When he returns, 20:29 there will be the wicked that are alive, 20:35 there are also wicked that are dead, 20:39 but there are also righteous people, 20:41 good people that are alive, and righteous people, 20:45 good people that have died in Christ. 20:47 In other words, they lived a life serving the Lord. 20:50 Those are the two possibilities. 20:53 There is no middle ground because in not choosing God, 20:56 you have chosen the devil's way. 20:59 And so there is no possibility of middle ground to say, 21:02 well, I'm not going to pick either side, 21:03 I'm just going to do my own thing. 21:07 And so when you choose to do that, 21:09 you are in the side of evil. 21:11 And really, you're not paying attention to the great 21:15 and wonderful commandments of God 21:17 the Bible says summarizing 21:20 that we are to love the Lord, our God, 21:23 with all of our heart, 21:24 with all of our mind, all of our strength, 21:27 and to love our neighbor as ourself. 21:28 So if you want to take this middle ground, 21:31 you're going to find yourself 21:33 that you're not doing one or the other 21:36 of these great and mighty commandments. 21:38 And these, of course, 21:41 are a summary of the Ten Commandments 21:43 which are found in Exodus 20. 21:45 So I will ask you to join me. 21:48 Now, we're going to talk about the righteous. 21:51 What happens to the righteous, 21:53 and when do they receive their reward. 21:55 Our first place to go to is 1 Thessalonians 4, 21:59 1 Thessalonians 4, 22:02 and we're going to quickly go through that one. 22:05 1 Thessalonians 4, 22:07 because we have many other scriptures to share with you. 22:09 1 Thessalonians 4, we're going to begin reading in verse 13, 22:12 and we're going to go all the way through verse 18. 22:15 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. 22:19 This is what the Bible says, 22:23 "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, 22:25 concerning them which are asleep..." 22:27 Are they talking about people taking rest or sleep, 22:29 or people that have died? 22:31 They're talking about people that have died. 22:33 "That ye sorrow not even as others which have no hope." 22:35 You don't sorrow when somebody is taking a rest 22:37 and sleep and normal sleep, 22:38 this is talking about the dead. 22:42 "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, 22:46 even so also which sleep in Jesus 22:50 will God bring with him." 22:52 In other words, God is going to bring them 22:54 with Him to heaven. 22:56 That's what he's talking about. 22:57 Some people confuse this verse 22:58 and think that Jesus is coming down bringing them with Him, 23:03 but notice that as you continue reading, 23:05 it will become clear that He's not talking about 23:08 bringing them from heaven down here, 23:09 He's talking about bringing the dead that are here 23:12 resurrecting them and taking them to heaven. 23:14 Notice then following verse 15, 23:17 "For this we say unto you 23:18 by the Word of the Lord," by what? 23:21 The Word of the Lord. He did not make this up. 23:23 This is something that is coming direct from God. 23:27 "For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, 23:29 that we which are alive 23:31 and remain unto the coming of the Lord 23:34 shall not prevent them which are asleep." 23:36 That word prevent is precede. 23:39 In other words, we're not going to go ahead of them 23:41 that are dead in Christ. 23:44 Verse 16, "For the Lord himself 23:46 shall descend from heaven with a shout..." 23:50 With a what? A shout. 23:51 It's not going to be something quiet or a secret. 23:55 It's going to be a glorious, loud event. 23:58 Everyone in the world will take notice. 24:00 Everything will stop. 24:02 If you're playing a baseball game, the game stops. 24:05 Whatever activity you're doing, it will stop 24:07 because the glorious manifestation of the Son of God 24:11 will capture everyone's attention, 24:13 and that will be a glorious, glorious thing. 24:17 Notice, let's continue reading, 24:18 we'll start reading again verse 16. 24:20 "For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven 24:23 with a shout with the voice of the archangel, 24:26 and with the trump of God, 24:28 and the dead in Christ shall rise first." 24:33 We were talking about those that sleep in Jesus, 24:36 the dead in Christ will rise first. 24:39 What does that mean, they'll rise first? 24:40 Well, they're going to be rising from the ground 24:42 and rising from the earth. 24:45 Notice, "Then we which are alive 24:49 and remain shall be caught up together 24:52 with them in the clouds..." 24:55 Can you picture that? 24:57 "The dead in Christ rise first, and then we which are alive 25:00 and remain are caught up together with them 25:01 in the cloud to meet the Lord in the air, 25:06 and so shall we ever be with the Lord." 25:09 Amen. 25:11 Verse 18 merely says, 25:13 "Wherefore comfort one another with these words." 25:15 So in another words, the righteous dead, 25:18 those servants of the Lord, 25:19 the saints of the Lord are dead in the ground 25:23 waiting for the resurrection of the righteous. 25:26 They're not in heaven enjoying heaven. 25:29 At this point, they are waiting the resurrection 25:31 and this is what the Bible mentions many, many times. 25:35 So furthermore, we want to show you 25:39 that Jesus Himself made a declaration concerning this 25:43 in John 5:28 and 29, 25:46 John 5:28 and 29. 25:52 And we have a lot of scriptures to share with you, 25:54 bear with us, write them down if you need to. 25:56 For further study, we tend to go a little quick here 26:00 and we hope that you will capture 26:02 the message as we read it. 26:04 John 5:28 and 29, the Bible tells us, 26:08 "Marvel not at this, for the hour is coming, 26:13 in the which all that are in the graves 26:17 shall hear His voice." 26:18 How many will hear His voice? 26:20 All will hear His voice. 26:23 "And shall come forth, they that have done good, 26:27 unto the resurrection of life and they that have done evil, 26:30 unto the resurrection of damnation." 26:34 So we here, we see here two different resurrections. 26:39 The resurrection of the righteous 26:42 and the resurrection of the wicked. 26:44 The resurrection of the righteous, 26:46 it says that they have the resurrection of life, 26:49 living eternal life. 26:51 "And they that have done evil, 26:53 unto the resurrection of damnation." 26:55 And we will further study that. 26:57 In Daniel 12, we have something similar 27:00 that is illustrated by this. 27:03 Daniel 12. 27:06 In Daniel 12, we're going to read verse 1 and 2. 27:11 When I'm in a regular church, 27:13 I ask people to help me read along, 27:14 so I'm not doing all the reading by myself. 27:18 Daniel 12:1 and 2, if you found it, say amen. 27:24 Amen. Oh, praise the Lord. 27:26 Here we go, "And at that time shall Michael stand up, 27:33 the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people, 27:37 and there shall be a time of trouble, 27:39 such as never was since there was a nation 27:41 even to that same time, 27:43 and at that time thy people shall be delivered, 27:46 every one that shall be found written in the book." 27:51 Notice how this is similar to what we read 27:54 in John 5:28 and 29. 27:56 Look at verse 2, "And many of them that sleep in the dust 28:01 of the earth shall awake," in other words, 28:04 they'll be resurrected, "some to everlasting life," 28:08 the resurrection of the righteous, 28:09 "and some to shame and everlasting contempt." 28:15 Two different resurrections are pictured here in Daniel 12, 28:18 the same thought that we find in John 5:28 and 29. 28:25 Now, let us further clarify this 28:28 by turning in our Bibles to 1 Corinthians 15, 28:32 1 Corinthians 15... 28:38 and we are going to read a couple of verses there, 28:41 verses 22 and 23. 28:45 1 Corinthians 15:22 and 23, let us read, 28:48 "But every man in his own order, 28:51 Christ the firstfruits," Christ what? 28:55 The firstfruits of them that slept. 28:57 There is the word sleep or slept again 29:00 concerning someone that had died. 29:02 Christ became the first fruit because, 29:04 not because He's the first one resurrected 29:06 but because He is first in priority, 29:09 first in eminence. 29:13 He is first because of who He is. 29:16 "But now Christ is risen from the dead 29:19 and become the firstfruits of them that slept." 29:23 I'm reading in 1 Corinthians verse 20. 29:25 Sorry, we need to go to verse 23, 29:29 "But every man in his own order, 29:31 Christ the first fruit," and then what? 29:37 "Afterward they that are Christ's," when? 29:40 "At his coming." 29:42 So He's talking about those that sleep in the dust, 29:45 those that are dead in Christ, 29:47 so at His coming those that are righteous, 29:53 rise from the dead at His coming, 29:55 not before, at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. 30:00 Amen? Amen. 30:02 Well, this takes us now to the following verses 30:07 that are still in 1 Corinthians. 30:10 Now we go to verse 51. 30:12 Notice here, the powerful message of the Bible. 30:16 1 Corinthians 15:51-55, 30:21 let us read. 30:23 "Behold, I shew you a mystery. 30:26 We shall not all sleep," in other words, 30:28 we're not all going to die, "but we shall all be changed, 30:33 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, 30:36 at the last trump, 30:38 for the trumpet shall sound, 30:40 and the dead shall be raised incorruptible." 30:43 So at His coming, the trumpet will sound 30:46 and the dead shall be raised incorruptible. 30:48 Talking about the righteous dead. 30:51 "And we shall be changed. 30:54 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, 31:00 and this mortal must put on immortality." 31:06 You notice that difference there? 31:07 Must put on immortality. 31:09 "So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, 31:13 and this mortal shall have put on immortality, 31:17 then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, 31:20 Death is swallowed up in victory. 31:24 O death, where is thy sting? 31:26 O grave, where is thy victory?" 31:29 So we see here interesting words that are used. 31:33 This corruptible, in other words, 31:35 our bodies are corruptible, 31:37 that we don't go from baby to... 31:40 We have a cycle of life. 31:43 As a baby, we're weak, 31:44 and we get stronger and stronger, 31:46 then you reach a point that you're strong, 31:48 you can do anything. 31:49 You can jump over this or lift that. 31:52 But then eventually, as you age, 31:55 weakness settles in, 31:57 and you begin to age, gray hair comes along. 32:00 Some of us lose our hair like myself. 32:03 And then eventually, weaker and weaker, 32:05 and then you die, that's being corruptible. 32:09 And then it says, "This mortal, there's nothing 32:14 in any human being that has immortality." 32:18 Only God has immortality. 32:20 The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6. 32:23 This mortal, that we just read, will put on immortality, 32:28 when will that happen? 32:30 When Jesus Christ returns, 32:31 at the last trump, at His coming, 32:33 we will put on immortality. 32:35 We do not have it now. 32:37 And there's no such thing as an immortal soul. 32:42 We read in Ezekiel 18, 32:43 "That the soul that sinneth, it shall die." 32:46 So we see that the Bible is clear in this area, 32:49 and it says, "This mortal shall put on immortality." 32:53 How many long for that day? 32:55 Amen. Praise the Lord. 32:57 And we shall be changed, the Bible says, 32:58 in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump. 33:02 Amen. 33:04 So talking about this last trump, 33:07 we see Jesus in John 6 33:09 making reference to the last trump 33:12 and resurrecting the righteous. 33:16 We mentioned before that there are four times 33:19 when Jesus states that He's going to raise 33:22 the righteous at the last day. 33:23 This time, we're just going to read two of the verses 33:25 in John 6, there are four, 33:27 but we're going to just read John 6:39 and 40. 33:31 Are you ready? Say amen. 33:33 "And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, 33:37 that of all which He hath given me 33:41 I should lose nothing, 33:43 but should raise it up again at the last day. 33:46 And this is the will of Him that sent me, 33:48 that every one which seeth the Son and believeth on Him, 33:54 may have everlasting life." 33:56 You see the Son, believe on Him, 33:59 you will have everlasting life. 34:00 So, what happens to those individuals? 34:04 "And I will raise him up at the last day." 34:09 So please understand that when you die, 34:13 if you've been righteous, 34:15 believing in Christ and His righteousness, 34:17 you don't go straight to heaven 34:19 when you die, it's when Jesus returns at His coming 34:22 that you are resurrected from the dead, 34:24 and if you are alive when Jesus comes, 34:26 you, as we read in 1 Thessalonians 4, 34:29 will join the dead in Christ that will rise first, 34:33 and then we are caught up together with them 34:35 and meet the Lord in the air. 34:37 Amen? Amen. 34:40 Now the resurrection of damnation, 34:44 we read that there are two resurrections, 34:45 the resurrection for everlasting life, 34:49 the resurrection of life 34:50 and the resurrection of damnation. 34:53 Let's go to Revelation 20:6, 34:56 Revelation 20:6, 34:58 and we will find when that takes place. 35:01 Revelation 20:6, 35:03 we are going to read about the first resurrection 35:07 and then about the second resurrection. 35:09 Revelation 20:6, are you ready? 35:12 Say amen. 35:13 Notice, "Blessed and holy is he 35:17 that hath part in the first resurrection, 35:21 on such the second death hath no power, 35:25 but they shall be priests of God and of Christ 35:28 and shall reign with him a thousand years." 35:32 Praise the Lord. 35:33 So we see here that there's a blessing 35:35 pronounced on those 35:37 that are part of the first resurrection, 35:39 the resurrection of the righteous, 35:41 the resurrection of everlasting life. 35:43 When do the wicked that have died, 35:47 when are they resurrected? 35:49 There are two resurrections. 35:50 We know about the resurrection of the righteous 35:53 that takes place when Jesus Christ 35:54 returns at the last trumpet. 35:57 Notice what it says about the wicked, 36:01 Revelation 20:5, 36:05 "But the rest of the dead lived not again 36:10 until the thousand years were finished." 36:15 Until the thousand years are finished. 36:17 Now, the Bible was written by people inspired by God, 36:24 but people came along and put Bible verses in there, 36:28 and did not always put them in the correct place 36:32 because the end of this verse says, 36:34 this is the first resurrection. 36:37 This is actually the second resurrection. 36:39 This part that says this is the first resurrection 36:40 belongs to the next verse that is read... 36:44 that will be verse 6. 36:46 Now, let us go to Hebrews 9:27 36:52 concerning everyone 36:54 and concerning the dead that are wicked. 36:58 Hebrews 9:26, we'll come back to Revelation 20 in a moment. 37:02 Hebrews 9:27, actually, Hebrews 9:27. 37:08 Hebrews 9:27 has the following words. 37:11 "As it is appointed unto men once to die, 37:15 but after this the judgment." 37:19 So it is appointed for people once to die then the judgment. 37:23 There is a death, and then you go to heaven, 37:27 death, if you're wicked then you go to hell. 37:29 There is judgment before these things take place. 37:32 And we do not have time to elaborate this. 37:35 There's a judgment going on right now 37:37 because when Jesus Christ returns, 37:40 He is coming with His reward. 37:41 That's why when we read 37:43 in 1 Thessalonians 4:12 and onward, 37:47 it states that the righteous 37:49 begin to receive the reward when Jesus Christ returns. 37:53 There is a judgment of execution of the, 37:57 what has been found and what we call 37:59 the phase of the investigation 38:01 as to who accepted Jesus Christ, 38:03 who said I will follow Him with all of my heart, 38:06 and who has accepted salvation by His grace. 38:10 And that's why when Christ returns, 38:12 His reward is with Him, the Bible says, 38:14 to give to every man according as His deeds shall be. 38:19 Now let us go and see that judgment in Revelation 20. 38:24 We go back there, and we pick up at verse 11. 38:27 Revelation 20:11, 38:33 we're trying to get to some other verses 38:35 that are in questioned by some people. 38:39 So Revelation 20:11, 38:42 the Bible tells us the following, 38:46 we're going to read verse 11 and 12, 38:49 "And I saw a great white throne, 38:52 and him that sat on it, 38:54 from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, 38:59 and there was found no more place for them." 39:01 Notice, "And I saw the dead, small and great before God, 39:06 and the books were opened," there's judgment taking place, 39:09 "and another book was opened, which is the book of life, 39:13 and the dead were judged out of those things 39:16 which were written in the books, 39:18 according to their works." 39:20 It is your works that will determine 39:23 where you will end up 39:25 if you placed yourself in the hands of the Lord 39:30 and you follow the Lord, 39:33 you will do works of righteousness 39:35 because without Jesus, we can do nothing. 39:37 It is in cooperation with Him. 39:39 So the dead are judged according to their works. 39:42 This is talking about the wicked. 39:46 They are now facing the judgment 39:48 for the evil things they have done. 39:50 How do we know? 39:51 Because it said, "I saw the dead stand before God." 39:54 And we already saw 39:56 that the righteous have been resurrected 39:59 when Jesus Christ came before the thousand years began, 40:02 and it says, "And so we shall ever be with the Lord." 40:05 We're dealing now with the resurrection of those 40:08 that are wicked. 40:10 What happens to those that are wicked? 40:12 We now go to Revelation 20:13 and 14 40:15 which follow Revelation 20:14 and 15. 40:22 This is what the Bible tells us, 40:24 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. 40:29 This is the second death." 40:32 So death and hell are cast into the lake of fire. 40:36 Verse 15, "And whosoever was not found written 40:41 in the book of life 40:42 was cast into the lake of fire." 40:46 A horrible, horrible end for those that are wicked. 40:52 They are now facing the rewards for their sins. 40:58 The reward for their wickedness, 41:01 and judgment is executed. 41:03 They are thrown into the lake of fire. 41:05 What happens to them in the lake of fire? 41:08 Well, you just read that this is what, 41:13 the second death in verse 14. 41:17 But there are other verses in the Bible 41:19 that help us understand what happens 41:21 even while they're in the lake of fire. 41:23 Let me summarize, and then we'll go back 41:25 and see it in the Bible. 41:28 When they're thrown into the lake of fire, 41:31 they're burning for a period of time, 41:33 not forever and ever 41:35 because there's nothing in the wicked people 41:38 that is eternal or has immortality. 41:44 Only the righteous receive immortality 41:46 when Jesus Christ returns, 41:48 remember, this corruptible must put on incorruption 41:50 and this mortal must put on immortality. 41:53 The Bible does not state anywhere 41:54 that the wicked receive immortality. 41:58 And the Bible plainly states 42:00 that those thrown into the lake of fire 42:02 is the second death. 42:04 Let us see some verses 42:05 that help us understand these things. 42:09 In 1 Thessalonians 2, 42:12 in 1 Thessalonians 2, 42:15 you notice that in the verses we read, 42:18 Revelation 20:11-15, 42:22 it states the dead. 42:25 Why is it talking about just the dead? 42:27 Because all the wicked are dead. 42:33 When Jesus Christ returns, all the wicked are dead. 42:39 And those that are alive that are wicked 42:41 are put to death. 42:42 Notice what is written 42:44 in 1 Thessalonians 2:7 and 8, 42:50 I think that is... 42:52 If I wrote it down correctly, that's where we will find it. 42:58 No, this is not it. 43:01 Oh, I'm in chapter 1. 43:07 Am I in the right place? 43:08 2 Thessalonians, sorry, 43:10 2 Thessalonians 2:7 and 8, 43:15 2 Thessalonians 2:7 and 8, are you ready? 43:19 Say amen. 43:21 Notice, "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work, 43:26 only he who now letteth will let, 43:28 until he be taken out of the way. 43:31 And then shall that wicked be revealed, 43:33 whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, 43:37 and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming." 43:42 This verse helps us to understand 43:44 what happens to the wicked that are alive, 43:48 they're destroyed 43:49 by the brightness of His coming. 43:51 So when Revelation 20 is dealing 43:53 and I saw the dead, 43:54 both small and great, stand before God. 43:56 It's dealing with all the wicked dead 43:58 that are brought back to life 43:59 to face the judgment for their evil, 44:02 for the wicked things they have done. 44:05 So we still have the question before us, 44:08 what happens to the wicked 44:09 while they are in the lake of fire? 44:11 Remember, it is called the second death. 44:15 I remind you of John 3:16. 44:17 John 3:16, you know it by memory, 44:21 you may not even need to look it up. 44:22 Really? Okay, we'll see that. 44:25 The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, 44:28 that He gave His only begotten Son, 44:31 that whosoever believeth in Him should not," what? 44:34 "Perish, but have everlasting life." 44:37 Who receive everlasting life? 44:38 Those that believe in Him. 44:40 So what happens if you don't believe in Him? 44:42 What does the Bible say? 44:45 So those that believe receive everlasting life, 44:48 and those that do not, they must perish 44:50 because it is those that believe 44:52 that receive everlasting life. 44:54 So if you don't believe, 44:55 you will not receive everlasting life, 44:57 you will perish. 44:59 That's why it says that whosoever believes in Him 45:01 will not perish but have everlasting life. 45:04 Those that believe have everlasting life, 45:05 those that do not, do not have everlasting life, 45:08 so they must die. 45:09 So Romans 6:23 makes this a little clearer. 45:15 Romans 6:23, 45:18 notice the difference that is made here 45:20 between the believers and the not believers. 45:23 Ready? 45:25 Romans 6:23, 45:26 "For the wages of sin is death, 45:32 but the gift of God is eternal life 45:34 through Jesus Christ, our Lord." 45:37 Those that believe, 45:39 receive the gift of eternal life 45:41 through our Lord Jesus Christ. 45:43 Those that do not, receive the wages of sin 45:45 which is death, that's what perish means. 45:47 Perish means to die, to cease to exist, 45:50 or to be put to death. 45:52 So now what happens to the wicked 45:55 when they're in the lake of fire? 45:57 Let's go through some verses that help us understand this. 46:00 Luke 12:47, 46:03 Luke 12:47, 46:07 I must point out that the wicked 46:09 do not immediately die 46:11 when they are cast into the lake of fire. 46:13 There's a period of time that only God measures 46:17 because no one will suffer one second longer 46:21 than it's fair and just and good. 46:24 Justice must be met exactly, not more and not less. 46:29 That's why the Bible makes this clear in Luke 12:47 and 48. 46:34 Notice the words of Jesus, 46:37 "And that servant, 46:39 which knew his lord's will and prepared not himself, 46:46 neither did according to His will, 46:47 shall be beaten with many stripes." 46:50 What happens to the servant 46:51 that they not do the Lord's will? 46:54 They are beaten with many stripes. 46:58 So verse 48, "But he that knew not 47:02 and did not commit things worthy of stripes, 47:04 shall be beaten with few stripes." 47:07 So those that do less evil, fewer stripes. 47:11 "For unto whomsoever much is given, 47:13 of him shall be much required, 47:15 and to whom men have committed much, 47:17 of him they will ask the more." 47:19 So people will be punished 47:23 according to the wickedness they have done. 47:27 Even human beings, finite human beings, 47:31 they have limited capacity to know what is right 47:35 and just and fair have degrees of punishment on this earth. 47:39 If you commit certain crime, 47:41 you spend certain amount of time in jail. 47:44 And if you commit a worse crime, 47:46 you spend more time in jail. 47:48 And if you commit some horrible crimes, 47:50 they'll give you what? 47:52 Life in prison. 47:54 Some people have done so much wickedness, 47:56 they get double life imprisonment. 47:58 And I don't know if any have received more than that. 48:00 I think I even heard of more than that. 48:01 So there you see, life in prison. 48:03 Now notice, what happens in society. 48:06 What happens in society if they say, 48:09 "You're going to have a life in prison." 48:13 Some of these individuals 48:14 if they had been behaving good in the prison, 48:18 they say, "You have totally reformed. 48:21 We are now going to forgive the rest of your sentence," 48:25 and they give them an early release 48:28 because they have been behaving well. 48:31 They feel they have changed. 48:32 They have paid for their crime, 48:35 and they set them back out in society. 48:38 Their original sentence was longer, 48:41 but it was cut down because of good behavior. 48:44 So why is it that men can have compassion on those, 48:49 and they don't think God has compassion. 48:51 And they want to... 48:53 It does not seem fair. 48:56 Let's say Cain killed one person. 48:59 Let us say that Cain killed one person, 49:01 only killed his brother Abel. 49:03 For him to be cast into the lake of fire, 49:06 to burn forever and ever and ever without end, 49:09 does not seem fair that somebody else 49:12 that kills a 100 people. 49:14 They say Hitler is responsible for hundreds of death 49:17 to join Cain in hell, and they're both burning. 49:22 They're both paying the same sentence. 49:24 They're both burning forever and ever and ever. 49:27 And you say, "Well, I only committed one sin. 49:30 Why am I here forever and ever? 49:31 He committed hundreds of sins, thousands of sins, 49:34 and he is still receiving the same punishment." 49:38 The Bible says, "He that is worthy of many stripes, 49:42 will receive many stripes. 49:44 He that is worthy of few stripes, 49:45 will receive few stripes." 49:46 In other words, there is a degree of suffering 49:49 that takes place in the lake of fire, 49:51 but eventually, they die. 49:53 Let us look at another scripture 49:55 that helps us see that. 49:57 Let us look at another scripture 49:59 that helps us see that. 50:00 So for this, we need to turn to Deuteronomy 25. 50:04 Deuteronomy 25, there is another verse 50:06 we're going to look at in a moment. 50:09 Deuteronomy 25:2, we need to move a little quicker 50:14 so that we can get to some other places we need to go to. 50:17 Deuteronomy 25:2, this has been long established by God. 50:22 Notice Deuteronomy 25:2, thus it is written, 50:26 "And it shall be, if the wicked man 50:28 be worthy to be beaten, 50:32 that the judge shall cause him to lie down, 50:34 and to be beaten before his face, 50:36 according to his fault, 50:39 by a certain number." 50:40 If you continue reading, 50:42 it says, "Forty stripes is the most he can get." 50:44 So there was a degree of punishment 50:47 according to the degree of how horrendous the sin is. 50:51 Jesus Himself makes this a little clearer 50:54 in the Book of Matthew 11. 50:58 The Book of Matthew 11, 51:02 Book of Matthew 11, follow me quickly. 51:06 Notice again, that there is a degree of guilt 51:11 and a degree of punishment, 51:13 but eventually, the wicked die. 51:16 Where are we at? 51:17 Matthew 11, and we're going to read verses 21 and 22. 51:22 If you found this, say amen. 51:24 Amen. 51:26 Before we start reading, 51:27 there are several times that Jesus mentions 51:29 almost the same thing in the gospels. 51:31 Notice this one, "Woe unto thee," 51:34 verse 21 and 22, "Woe unto thee, Chorazin! 51:39 woe unto thee, Bethsaida, for if the mighty works, 51:43 which were done in you, 51:45 had been done in Tyre and Sidon, 51:47 they would have repented long ago 51:49 in sackcloth and ashes. 51:51 But I say to you, it shall be more tolerable 51:55 for Tyre and Sidon 51:57 at that day of judgment than for you." 52:02 So you see there's a degree of guilt. 52:05 It would be more tolerable for them than for you. 52:08 There's a degree according to the guilt, 52:11 more tolerable for you than for you 52:14 because of the wickedness you have, 52:16 less wickedness, 52:18 it will be more tolerable for you than for you 52:20 because of the wickedness. 52:21 You see there's a degree of guilt, 52:24 a degree of punishment. 52:27 Amen? If you understand that, say amen. 52:29 Amen. 52:31 But please understand 52:33 that eventually the wicked will be consumed to ashes. 52:37 I must move quickly, so let's go to Ezekiel 28, 52:41 we will at least get this one in Ezekiel 28. 52:47 So if you're thinking history, 52:50 throughout history, who is the worst of the worst? 52:54 The worst of the worst throughout history 52:58 who has committed the greater sin 53:00 has the greater guilt, 53:01 a greater responsibility, who would that be? 53:04 I point you to Satan himself. 53:08 What does the Bible say will happen to Satan himself? 53:11 Please understand that Ezekiel 28 53:14 is talking about Satan, 53:15 we don't have time to read all the verses, 53:17 we're going to read verse 14 and 15, 53:18 and then we're going to jump a few verses to his punishment. 53:22 Ezekiel 28:14 and 15, 53:25 "Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth, 53:29 I have set thee so, 53:30 so thou wast upon the holy mountain of God, 53:33 thou hast walked up and down 53:35 in the midst of the stones of fire." 53:37 He's talking about Lucifer, Satan before he sinned. 53:41 Notice, "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day 53:45 that thou wast created 53:47 till iniquity was found in thee." 53:50 A point in time when Lucifer became Satan and sinned. 53:56 So I now point you 53:58 to what happens to him in verse 18. 54:00 Verse 18, "Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries 54:04 by the multitude of thine iniquities, 54:07 by the iniquity of thy traffick, 54:09 therefore will I bring forth a fire 54:12 from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, 54:16 and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth 54:19 in the sight of all them that behold thee." 54:23 Wow! What happens to Satan? 54:25 What happens to the devil himself? 54:27 God is going to make a fire in the midst of him 54:30 and he will be consumed to ashes, 54:35 consumed to ashes. 54:36 The devil himself will be consumed to ashes. 54:39 Now I ask you, why would God punish human beings 54:45 forever and ever without end if Satan himself, 54:48 the Bible says, will be consumed to ashes. 54:51 It does not fit. 54:53 There is a degree of punishment, 54:55 according to the evil 54:56 and Satan will suffer more than anyone else 54:59 because there's greater guilt, greater responsibility, 55:02 more sins that he is responsible for. 55:05 He will suffer more, 55:07 but he will be consumed to ashes. 55:10 And so I point you to Jesus 55:12 as the one that is worthy of your... 55:18 following Him. 55:20 So what happens to the wicked? 55:22 This, I think we have enough time to read Malachi 4. 55:28 We have enough time I think to read a couple of verses. 55:31 The rest of the wicked as we read, 55:34 they are thrown into the lake of fire. 55:36 Eventually, they die. 55:37 Malachi 4, we're going to read verses 1 and verse 3. 55:42 Malachi 4:1 says, "For, behold, the day cometh, 55:46 that shall burn as an oven, and all the proud, yea, 55:49 and all that do wickedly, 55:50 shall be stubble," they will be what? 55:53 Stubble. 55:55 "And the day that cometh shall burn them up," 55:57 burn them up means it consumes them, 55:59 "saith the Lord of hosts, 56:01 that it shall leave them neither root nor branch." 56:05 That means they're totally consumed. 56:07 Look at verse 3, "And ye shall tread down the wicked, 56:11 for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet 56:15 in the day that I shall do this, 56:17 saith the Lord of hosts." 56:20 So in view of these, there are many others, 56:24 if you'd like some of these verses, 56:25 we can send them to you. 56:26 In view of these scriptures, we point you to, 56:29 what the Bible says, the wages of sin is death. 56:32 Eventually, the wicked will die and will be consumed to ashes. 56:37 But the gift of God is eternal life 56:40 through His Son, Jesus Christ. 56:42 God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked. 56:47 He will suffer greatly for it. Why? 56:50 Because God loved them with an everlasting love, 56:54 He will not enjoy that one least bit. 56:57 And neither will He prolong the suffering of the wicked 57:00 one iota of a second longer 57:03 than it's fair and just and good. 57:05 They will pay for their sins and cease to exist. 57:09 And the universe will be rid of all the wicked people. 57:13 There will be no more, 57:14 only the people that love the Lord 57:17 and love righteousness 57:18 and love the peace and happiness 57:20 that God has to offer. 57:21 I encourage you to continue studying this topic. 57:24 I encourage you to continue reading God's Word, 57:26 and you will see that the Bible has the answers for our life. 57:29 And, as a matter of fact, 57:32 they are able to make you wise unto salvation. 57:34 Remember, God so loved the world 57:36 that He gave His only begotten Son, 57:38 that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish 57:41 but have everlasting life. 57:42 And I encourage you to accept that everlasting life 57:44 that comes through Jesus Christ. 57:46 I know that everyone here has done so, 57:48 and it is through Jesus and only through Him 57:52 that we can have salvation, 57:54 and we encourage you to follow the Lord 57:55 with all of your heart. 57:57 May God continue to bless you as you study His Word. 57:59 We'll see you next time on A Sharper Focus. |
