Now, the reason why this topic

number of reasons.

One, it is about the controversy

between the law of
God and the laws of men.

The law of God
and the laws of men.

Now, we are
called to be allegiant

to the laws of God,
00:05:45.77\00:05:48.64
but the laws of men
are always going to be

a contrast to the laws of God,

and we have had
ample stories in the Bible

about individuals
that chose to stand firm
00:05:58.29\00:06:01.06
and live honestly in
harmony with the laws of God,

and what happened as a result?

Now, many things are
changing in our world,

but the Bible says,

"Jesus is the same
yesterday, today, and forever."

So Jesus is not changing,

since the law is a
transcript of His character,

He doesn't change.

Recently in America,
not too many months ago,

maybe about a year ago,

there was a law
passed at the highest level

for the attitudes
about marriage in America.

So they decided to adopt laws

in America to
support same-sex marriage.
00:06:34.86\00:06:38.39
And many
Christians were outraged,
00:06:38.43\00:06:40.06
even still today many
Christian organizations,

many pastors refused to
follow the laws of the land

because they are
contrary to the laws of God.

Matter of fact,
the Apostle Paul,

one of the reasons
00:06:52.01\00:06:53.34
why he was brought
before the governor,

and Felix, and
Agrippa, and ultimately Caesar,

it's because they said
about the Apostle Paul,

"This man teaches
people to worship contrary

to the laws of the land."

You follow that?

So Paul the Apostle
went through imprisonment

and deprivation,

and he was
whipped, he was maligned,

he was put in prison,

he was beaten
with 39 lashes minus 1.

I mean he went through so much

because he chose to stand firmly

upon the laws of God.

Now, things have not changed,
things have not changed.

We are going to pray for someone

in particular tonight,
that's part of our fellowship,

who is presently going

through that
very same persecution

because he refuses to compromise

begin with a story

happening in the world today.

Let me go back to
the original story,

what's happening in the
world is no surprise to God.

He saw it long before
it began to transpire.

The law of God from
heaven to the Garden of Eden,

Ages, where it was changed,

to the modern days,

God knew long before
men made the decision

that the laws of God
would be changed by men.

We're gonna talk
about that tonight.

But let me give
you encouragement,

that may be in a
similar situation.

God sometimes doesn't save us

Look at Daniel 6 very quickly.

This story came to my mind,

I did not intend to
begin with this story,

but Daniel was a part
of the kingdom of the Medes

and the Persians,
the Medo-Persian Empire,

and Daniel chose as
one of the governors,

that when the time came,
00:09:10.11\00:09:11.45
he was going to stand
firmly upon the law of God.
00:09:11.48\00:09:14.38
Daniel decided to
pray how many times a day?

Three.

Three times a day, morning,
afternoon, and evening worship.
00:09:18.79\00:09:22.16
That was his pattern.

And he chose not to
be disloyal to that.

When you choose not
to be disloyal to God,

men will be upset with
you because behind them,

Satan is upset with those

who keep the
commandments of God.

So anytime you
decide to stand with God,

And he's always done that,

so we're not living
in a new environment,

nothing is a surprise to God.

But look at what happened,

Now, the same
anger and discontent

the same-sex marriage

has violated God's principles
and laws about marriage

would also be shared

if the Sabbath
was changed in our day

from Saturday to Sunday,

but because it was
done centuries ago,

most Christians today

just honor the
first day of the week

as though it is the law of God

when, in fact, it
is not a law of God.

It is not a commandment of God.

It is not one of
the Ten Commandments,

but it's tradition,

and so if the world
were to last long enough,

the tradition of
same-sex marriage,

They may think that God
has always approved of it.

Well, God no more
approves of same-sex marriage

than He approves of the Sabbath

being changed
from the seventh day

to the first day of the week.

But there are many
Christians that don't know that.

So it's important for
us to look at God's Word

so that those
who want to serve God

according to the truth

will take their side
on the stand of truth.

distinguished himself above all,

above the governors and
satraps," that's rulers,

"because an
excellent spirit was in him."

Let me just make a point.

When you decide
to stand for right,

do it with an
excellent spirit, amen?

Don't say, "I
don't care what you say."

You say, "I'm honoring God,

I'm standing
for Him on His Word.

I'm not going to violate
what God has asked me to do."

Have an
excellent spirit about it

because it goes a long way.

The Bible says,

"There was an
excellent spirit was in him,

and the king gave
thought to setting him

over the whole realm."

He was elevated

because he had
the right attitude,

Men didn't like it,
so what did they do?

"So the governors and
satraps sought to find

some charge against
Daniel concerning the kingdom."

But what does it say,

"They could not
find charge or fault."

They looked at
this man and says,

"He does a good job.

He's not out of
harmony with the things

that he's been
given responsibility over,

but they continued looking."

And the Bible
says, "The reason why

they couldn't
find charge or fault

because he was,"
what's the next word,

say it again, next word is what?

"Faithful, nor
was there any error

or fault found in him."

Now was he a perfect individual?

No, but God gave
him responsibilities,

and he followed
through on those.

But look at what they did now.

Verse 5, "Then these men said,

"We will not find any
charge against this Daniel

unless we find it against him

concerning the law of his God.'"

They decided, Johnny,

to look at the God he
served and the law of his God,

and they decided to
pit him against God's law.

They decided, they said,

"This is how
we're going to get him.

He is true to his God's law,

so we got to set up a law

that will test his
allegiance to God's law."

So what did they do?

thronged before the king,

watch how when people wax you.

They're about to set you up.

"All the
governors of the kingdom,

the administrators and satraps,

advisors have consulted together

to establish a royal statute
and to make a firm decree

more than he wants

that the writing was
signed, he went home.

And in his upper
room, with his windows..."

"Open toward Jerusalem,

he knelt down on his
knees three times that day

and prayed and gave

In other words, Daniel said,

"They're trying to
prevent me from praying?

Nobody's going to

hide my loyalty to God."

You know, and he
could have easily closed

the windows and prayed.

A lot of people
would have done that,

a lot of people would say,

"Man, my
position is on the line.

I can't afford to lose my job.

So I'm going to close my window
because God will understand."

But you know what?

If your witness and
your allegiance to God

is not known by others,

when God turns
the situation around,

they will never see how powerful

and how loyal your God is.

Let's go on, verse 11,

"Then these men assembled
and found Daniel praying

and making
supplication before his God.

And verse 12, "And
they went before the king

and spoke
concerning the king's decree,

"Have you not
signed a decree that,"
