different parts of the world,

we also discovered,

more recently in the
country of Sri Lanka,

around the world,
changes are being made

to solidify in the
minds of many the idea

that Sunday is the
seventh day of the week.

Many people,

and when I was
working in New York City

a number of years ago

as a young high school student
00:05:30.99\00:05:34.06
working one week, going
to school the next week,

I was a messenger.
00:05:37.70\00:05:39.03
And the maritime companies,
00:05:39.07\00:05:40.54
companies that do
shipping for foreign companies,
00:05:40.57\00:05:44.07
they would establish,
00:05:44.11\00:05:45.87
what they call
the maritime calendar,
00:05:45.91\00:05:48.08
which back in the '70s,
00:05:48.11\00:05:50.05
they set up Monday as
the first day of the week
00:05:50.08\00:05:53.01
and Sunday as the seventh day.
00:05:53.05\00:05:55.12
And then there was
some companies that
00:05:55.15\00:05:57.02
when laptops and
computers became more popular,
00:05:57.05\00:06:01.82
you would have programs
by companies like Microsoft,
00:06:01.86\00:06:04.86
and when you open the calendar,
00:06:04.89\00:06:06.80
they had Sunday
and Saturday combined.

They called it the weekend.

Notice how that, the weekend.

And then you had to
detangle them by going in

and selecting a feature

to make it the way
it's supposed to be,

Sunday the first day,
and Saturday the seventh day.

And I thought to myself,
when they say the weekend

and Saturday and
Sunday were coupled together

like on top of each
other rather than side by side,

you could pick
Saturday to be the first day,

Sunday to be the first day,

but in reality,

they had Monday set
to be the first day.

So when you look
down at this you'll say,

which one is the sixth,
which one is the seventh?

And in the minds of
people that did not understand,

many people put
Sunday as the seventh day.

Well, then more recently,

and I'm gonna
kind of build a segue

because this is
so vitally important.

More recently,
00:06:56.91\00:06:58.25
a decision was made in
America to join other nations
00:06:58.28\00:07:00.98
that decided to
approve same sex marriage,
00:07:01.02\00:07:03.99
and we, the Christian community,
00:07:04.02\00:07:05.79
those that stood on
God's Word were all aghast.
00:07:05.82\00:07:08.96
They said, how could
anyone redefine what?
00:07:08.99\00:07:13.90
You can't redefine what
God has already defined.
00:07:13.93\00:07:18.73
And so, so many people said,
00:07:18.77\00:07:20.50
"Well, this is
not a religious issue,
00:07:20.54\00:07:22.64
this is a civil issue."
00:07:22.67\00:07:24.01
Well, to Christians,
it is a religious issue.

It's about our
relationship with Jesus.

So we go back,
and some people say,

"Well, why is it so
important to you Christians?"

And then Christians
say, "Way back in Genesis

when there was only
a one man and one woman

at the creation of the world,

God blessed the marriage
00:07:44.13\00:07:46.53
by joining Adam to
Eve and vice versa."

And people say,
00:07:50.50\00:07:51.83
"But that was
thousands of years ago."

And then Christians respond,
"Well, it doesn't matter,
00:07:53.67\00:07:57.44
whether it was thousands
or hundreds of years ago,
00:07:57.47\00:08:00.48
from the very
beginning God established
00:08:00.51\00:08:02.28
the institution of marriage.
00:08:02.31\00:08:04.15
So therefore we
should not try to change it."

Now there's
something else God did

in the end of
creation week, He sanctified.

Let me tell you the reason why?

they complete the image

The maleness and the femaleness

brings forth the image

In the very same

a sanctifying mark.

this idea of the first day

who believes in the Word of God

and who believes that
what God says is sufficient

is man is saying it
doesn't really matter.

Well, now let me go ahead

and just really
upset the applecart.

If the Sabbath to
Christians don't matter,

then the marriage
should not matter either.
