00:20 Hello, friends, welcome to another Wednesday night
00:23 Bible study here at the 3ABN Worship Center. 00:25 Thank you for tuning into A Sharper Focus. 00:28 Can we all have say amen to that? 00:29 Amen! 00:31 You know we are all hoping to focus more clearly 00:33 not only on gaining knowledge 00:35 but also strengthening our relationship with the Lord 00:38 who imparts this knowledge to us. 00:41 Tonight, we're continuing on the topic 00:43 the truth about the first day, the truth about the first day 00:47 and we've covered a number of the questions. 00:49 Thus far we've covered 16 00:52 but we've have to go all the way up to 35, 00:53 and I'll tell you in just a moment 00:55 how to get a copy of the lessons, 00:57 where to download those. 00:59 But before I tell you about the website 01:01 and before we sing our opening song, 01:02 our theme song, 01:04 let's begin with a word of prayer. 01:06 Loving Father in heaven, thank You for Your Word, 01:08 it is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths. 01:12 We do pray tonight, Father, as we open Your Word 01:15 that You'll open our hearts 01:17 that we would hear what the spirit is saying 01:19 to Your people, to the church. 01:22 Lead us, strengthen us in our dedication to serve You 01:26 and represent You, in Jesus' name we pray. 01:29 Amen. 01:31 Now, lesson number 32 01:32 can be found at the following website, 01:34 asf.3abn.org. 01:38 That's asf.3abn.org, 01:42 download lesson number 32 01:45 entitled the ''The Truth about the First Day". 01:48 The truth about the first day. 01:50 This has been a very good lesson study thus far. 01:53 And tonight we're gonna unfold some more things. 01:56 You know, one of the big... 01:57 Well, let me prevent myself from going into the lesson 01:59 because if I lay the foundation then sing a song, 02:02 you'll forget what I said. 02:03 So let's go ahead and begin with our theme song, 02:06 our theme song tonight is victory in? 02:09 "Victory in Jesus" let's sing this song together. 02:20 I heard an old, old story 02:24 How a Savior came from glory 02:27 How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me 02:35 I heard about His groaning 02:39 Of His precious blood's atoning 02:42 Then I repented of my sins 02:46 And won the victory 02:50 O victory in Jesus 02:54 My Savior, forever 02:58 He sought me and bought me 03:01 With His redeeming blood 03:05 He loved me ere I knew Him 03:09 And all my love is due Him 03:13 He plunged me to victory 03:16 Beneath the cleansing flood 03:20 I heard about a mansion 03:24 He has built for me in glory 03:28 And I heard about the streets of gold 03:32 Beyond the crystal sea 03:35 About the angels singing 03:39 And the old redemption story 03:43 And some sweet day I'll sing up there 03:47 The song of victory 03:50 Key change. 03:51 O victory in Jesus 03:54 My Savior, forever 03:58 He sought me and bought me 04:02 With His redeeming blood 04:06 He loved me ere I knew Him 04:09 And all my love is due Him 04:13 He plunged me to victory 04:17 Beneath the cleansing flood 04:21 He plunged me to victory 04:25 Beneath the cleansing flood. 04:31 Amen? Amen. 04:33 Wonderful song, "Victory in Jesus". 04:35 Tonight, our topic is 04:37 "The Truth about the First Day". 04:39 Say that with me "The Truth about the First Day". 04:45 You know, we've covered 16 questions so far 04:49 and in question number 16 there were seven references. 04:54 What we've done thus far, 04:55 and let me give you the foundation. 04:57 I think it's important to lay the foundation 04:58 at the beginning of every discussion 05:00 about this truth, about the first day topic. 05:03 In America right now there are many Christians 05:05 that are very upset about what the Supreme Court did. 05:08 And what the Supreme Court did was, 05:10 they decided to pass a law in favor of same sex marriage. 05:15 Now, I will ask the question, why are Christians so upset 05:19 about something that `was ordained of God 05:21 about 6,000 years ago? 05:23 And here's why they are upset and here's why we are upset is 05:26 because they know that 05:28 what God did 6,000 years ago still applies today. 05:33 They are not saying, well, it was way back 05:35 in the Garden of Eden so it's no longer relevant. 05:38 They are not concerned about the Egyptian Empire, 05:40 the Babylonian, the Medo-Persians, the Greece, 05:43 the Romans, they are not, 05:44 they don't care about what culture has risen. 05:46 They don't care about what new age philosophy 05:48 has come to the forefront. 05:49 They are saying, what God did in the Garden of Eden 05:52 6,000 years ago, 05:54 when He joined a man to a women, still stands today. 05:57 Amen? Amen. 05:58 But there's something else that happened 06:00 in the Garden of Eden, 06:01 not just the uniting of Adam to Eve, 06:04 the beginning of the human race, 06:06 but God blessed the seventh day of the week. 06:11 What day did He bless? 06:13 The Seventh day. 06:14 When you read the Bible, you don't find names like 06:16 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 06:18 Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. 06:19 You don't find those names. 06:22 You find first day, second day, third day, fourth day, 06:25 fifth day, preparation day, Sabbath. 06:29 That's what you find. 06:30 And the Sabbath in the Bible coordinates with sunset Friday 06:35 to sunset Saturday. 06:38 And why do we say sunset-sunset? 06:40 When you look at the news next time on the weather, 06:43 you'll notice they say sunrise today was, 06:46 and sunset today was. 06:48 And the Bible says in Leviticus 23:32, 06:51 "From evening to evening 06:54 you shall celebrate the Sabbath. 06:55 And in Genesis 1 we find the evening 06:59 and the morning were the what the day? 07:01 First, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, 07:03 and so on and so forth. 07:06 So the world began at the dark part 07:08 and then the Lord said let there be light. 07:10 So when the sun rises, we're already in the day. 07:15 When the sun sets, the day ends. 07:18 Now, let me give you an example. 07:20 When we hit 12:00 at night what do we call it? 07:22 Someone tell me. 07:24 We call it midnight, which means 07:25 if it's a middle of the night, the night already began. 07:28 When we hit 12:00 noon what we call it? 07:31 Midday, which means if it's a middle of the day, 07:34 the day already started. 07:35 The day doesn't begin at midnight 07:37 anymore than the day begins at midday. 07:40 So from sunset one day ends at sunset, 07:44 if one day ends another day begins. 07:47 And so when the sunset on the sixth day of the week, 07:53 the Lord ended His work as He created 07:56 and blessed the seventh day. 07:59 But today, the day that God blessed, 08:02 sanctified, hollowed, and said remember to keep holy 08:05 in the fourth commandment has been replaced 08:08 and most Christians today honor the first day of the week 08:12 Sunday as the holy day. 08:14 Now, what we want to do in this topic is find out 08:16 if we can find any support in the Bible 08:19 for the sanctity of Sunday. 08:21 There are those that say we honor and we observe it 08:24 in honor of the resurrection. 08:26 Well, let me go ahead and summarize this 08:27 before we go to question number 17. 08:30 There are only 12 verses in the New Testament 08:33 about the first day of the week. 08:34 How many did I say? Twelve. 08:36 Twelve, there's only twelve. 08:37 We went through all 12 08:39 and found absolutely none of them, Cynthia, 08:42 that support the sanctity of the first day of the week, 08:44 absolutely not. 08:46 Now we found some that people try to twist. 08:49 To follow up on what I'm saying, 08:51 go to that website asf.3abn.org 08:55 and download this very lesson number 32 08:57 and go through all the Bible verses 08:59 referring to the first day of the week. 09:03 Furthermore, we discovered that after the resurrection 09:06 and ascension of Jesus, the apostles and the disciples 09:12 still honored the seventh day as the Sabbath. 09:17 All through the Book of Acts under question number 16 09:20 we look at, we looked at seven references 09:22 all referring to the Sabbath, 09:24 the day the apostles honored after the crucifixion, 09:28 after the resurrection. 09:29 And so when we come to that conclusion, 09:31 we have to discover and come to some conclusion 09:34 that here's the point. 09:35 Listen carefully. 09:37 If Jesus never nailed the commandments at the cross, 09:40 then they still stand today, what do you say? 09:44 If Jesus intended to get rid of the Sabbath 09:48 or if Jesus did get rid of the Sabbath, 09:51 the disciples and the apostles would not honor that day, 09:54 they would pick a new day. 09:56 They would honor the first day 09:57 like many today honor the first day. 10:01 But what many Christians don't know 10:03 is the first day of the week is based on tradition, 10:07 say that together based on tradition. 10:11 But here's my point, 10:12 when tradition conflicts with the Bible, 10:16 the Bible is always higher than tradition, right? 10:21 So what we're gonna do tonight, 10:23 since we went through all 12 verses in the New Testament 10:27 about the first day found, 10:28 none of them there including Revelation 1:10 10:31 which says, "I was in the spirit on the Lord's Day." 10:34 We discovered that the Lord's Day in the Bible 10:36 is the Sabbath. 10:38 It's in the lesson there, you'll find that. 10:40 And then we're gonna look now at question number 17 10:44 to even find out more about the special significance 10:48 that the Lord added to the Sabbath. 10:51 So let's begin 10:53 with question number 17 tonight, all right? 10:55 Here we go. 10:56 Question number 17, what special significance 11:00 does the Bible connect to the Sabbath? 11:03 We're gonna begin by going to Mark 2:27-28. 11:07 What special significance 11:08 does the Bible connect to the Sabbath? 11:11 Now the reason why these texts are chosen 11:14 is because many Christians have been taught 11:18 that the Sabbath is a Jewish institution. 11:23 They have been taught that if you keep the Sabbath 11:25 you got to be a Jew. 11:27 Somewhere, somehow they got taught 11:31 that the Sabbath is just for the Jew. 11:36 If that were the case, 11:37 then Adam and Eve had to be a Jew. 11:41 But Adam and Eve were not Jews. 11:43 He was just a man. 11:45 She was just a woman. 11:47 And God blessed the seventh day 11:51 right after He sanctified0 11:53 the marriage between Adam and his wife Eve. 11:57 Not only that, if the Sabbath was made for just the Jews, 12:02 then Abraham had to be a Jew. 12:05 But Abraham wasn't a Jew. 12:07 He was a Babylonian. 12:09 Genesis 26:5 says, "Abraham kept my commandments, 12:15 my statutes, and my laws." 12:19 And by the way many of you may or may not know 12:21 that Abraham through his seed the Jewish nation was born. 12:26 Abraham, Isaac Jacob, Jacob renamed Israel 12:30 and then he had 12 sons, the children of Israel 12:33 from which we get the nation of Israel 12:35 or the Jewish nation. 12:36 So Abraham wasn't a Jew, but let me ask a question 12:39 before I read the text. 12:41 Did Cain kill Abel? Yes or no? 12:44 That's kind of a... I'm giving you the answer. 12:47 That's a redundant question. Did Cain kill Abel? 12:50 Yes. 12:51 What was Cain guilty of? 12:55 Come on say together. 12:57 Murder. Well, now wait a minute. 13:00 How could Cain be guilty of murder 13:03 when Mount Sinai was about 2,000 years in the future 13:07 when the commandments were written on tables of stone? 13:11 Where thou shalt not kill... 13:16 You follow me? 13:17 Where thou shall not kill was one of those Ten Commandments, 13:20 so here's my point. 13:22 It must be clear that the commandments of God 13:26 which is a reflection of the character of God 13:29 was in place 13:31 but then first written down on tables of stone 13:34 at Mount Sinai 13:36 because Cain could not be guilty of murder. 13:40 Unless there was a law against committing a murder, 13:44 thou shalt do no murder. 13:45 Thou shalt not kill. 13:47 So now, going to Mark 2:27-28 13:51 and by the way a New Testament verse, 13:53 let's see what Jesus said about this day 13:55 that's often connected to just the Jews. 13:58 Here it is, Mark 2:27-28, the Bible says, 14:01 And he said to them, 14:03 "The Sabbath was made for man, 14:06 and not man for the Sabbath. 14:08 Therefore the Son of man is also Lord of the Sabbath." 14:13 Okay, question now. Who is the Sabbath made for? 14:16 M-A-N, let's spell man, J-E-W. 14:22 Am I incorrectly spelling that? 14:26 Man is spelled what? Ready? 14:28 J-E-W. 14:31 How do you spell man? Ready? 14:33 M-A-N. 14:35 The Sabbath is made for M-A-N, not J-E-W alone. 14:41 It was inclusive including the Jews 14:45 not exclusive to the Jews. 14:48 Mankind is one of the ways that the newer transition says. 14:52 The Sabbath was made for mankind. 14:54 Now what benefit do I get out of the Sabbath? 14:57 When Jesus rested at the end of His creation week 14:59 and I rest, I'm now entering into His rest. 15:03 Not only physically 15:04 but I entering into a spiritual rest, 15:06 a spiritual relationship. 15:08 It's a sign that we're connecting 15:10 on a spiritual level. 15:13 So when the Bible says the Sabbath was made for man, 15:16 one of the ways that the Greeks says it 15:18 is that Sabbath was made for the good of the man, 15:20 for the physical and spiritual good of man. 15:23 So write that down. 15:24 What specific significance 15:26 does the Bible connect to the Sabbath? 15:28 Made for the good of mankind. Made for the good of mankind. 15:32 Now, let's look at another one. 15:35 We're gonna go to Luke 4:16. 15:37 This is a powerful verse. 15:39 Luke 4:16 15:42 reminds me of a story that Pastor CA told not to long ago, 15:45 we'll read the text and I'll share the story. 15:47 It made me giggle 15:49 when I thought about what this lady said, 15:52 but I'll tell you, it's not in reference necessarily 15:54 to the text, 15:55 but it illustrates a particular point. 15:57 Luke 4:16. 15:58 What special significance does the Bible connect 16:00 to the Sabbath? 16:02 Here it is. 16:03 "So He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up." 16:08 That is Jesus. 16:10 "And as was his custom was, 16:12 He went into the synagogue on the what day? 16:15 "Sabbath day and stood up to read." 16:20 If Jesus now, look, years ago there was an acronym, 16:23 you know what an acronym is? 16:25 Letters that have a broader meaning to them. 16:28 It was WWJD. 16:32 Does anybody remember that? 16:34 Okay, say it again. What would Jesus do? 16:36 What would Jesus do? 16:39 I want to modify that. 16:41 I have another one. 16:43 WDJD. 16:44 What did Jesus do? 16:47 Now, just imagine for a moment. 16:50 And we know that there is nobody keeping the gate 16:53 in heaven level not even Peter, that's of old wives' tale. 16:57 That's fairytale. 17:00 But if you ever to be asked, 17:02 "Why you should be allowed in heaven?" 17:04 And you say, 17:06 "Jesus, I simply followed what you did." 17:10 That would be a good reason. What do you say? 17:13 If you follow Jesus as an example, 17:15 there's no way that you could be left out of the kingdom. 17:19 So now today let's fast-forward that to 2015. 17:24 Jesus comes to town and as His custom always was, 17:28 He honors the Sabbath. 17:30 He looks around town 17:32 and most churches are closed on the Sabbath. 17:35 And by the way if you were taught that 17:36 Sunday is the Sabbath, 17:38 we'll change that in just a moment. 17:39 Because the resurrection day 17:41 and the Sabbath can't be the same day, all right? 17:44 Jesus as His custom was, and let's write this down 17:47 what special significance, Luke 4:16. 17:50 Jesus honored the Sabbath. 17:53 Now why did He honor it? 17:54 He made it. 17:55 That's as simple. 17:57 He honored it because He made it. 18:00 If He blessed it, He honors it. 18:03 If He honors it, He further supports it. 18:05 He further emphasizes its greater importance. 18:08 Now this one is a really powerful text 18:10 and I went to the Amplified Bible. 18:12 We could read it in the New King James 18:14 or the King James Version. 18:15 And I'll do that first 18:17 before I ask the guys to bring it up on the screen, 18:19 or the ladies whoever is at the graphics, 18:21 because any given day 18:24 it could be a male or female. 18:26 All right. 18:27 I'm going to first read, don't bring the text up yet. 18:28 I'm going to read it 18:30 in the New King James version first. 18:31 Go with me to Hebrews 4:8-9. 18:35 Hebrews 4:8-9. 18:40 I'll read it here in the New King James Version. 18:45 And it reads thus in verse 8, 18:48 "For if Yeshua," many of us pronounce that Joshua, 18:52 "For if Yeshua had given them rest, 18:55 then He would not afterward have spoken of another day." 19:00 And verse 9, "There remains 19:02 therefore a rest for the people of God." 19:05 That's the way it reads in the Bible. 19:07 And the word Yeshua there means Christ. 19:10 Joshua was a representative by name of Christ. 19:14 He led them in the absence of Moses 19:17 into the Promised Land. 19:19 We follow Yeshua, Jesus into the Promised Land. 19:22 That's the beauty of going to heaven 19:24 when He comes back to take us. 19:26 But it says in verse 9, 19:27 "There remains therefore a rest to the people of God." 19:30 Now some of you may have heard of the Amplified Bible. 19:33 Don't bring it up yet. 19:35 Some of you may have heard of the Amplified Bible, 19:36 the Amplified Bible is a beautiful translation. 19:38 Let me tell you why. 19:40 When this Bible was put together, 19:42 it was financed by individuals who wanted to, 19:47 as clearly as possible, 19:48 communicate the Greek language the way 19:51 that it's actually written. 19:53 In other words in English, 19:54 they want to communicate the meaning in the Greek, 19:56 so they put the Amplified Bible together. 19:58 So therefore now let's read the amplified 20:00 and see how it reads in the amplified. 20:02 Now I'll bring the text up for us. Here it is. 20:05 "This mention of rest, 20:09 this mention of rest was not a reference 20:12 to their entering into Canaan. 20:14 For if Joshua," here it is, "had given them rest. 20:19 He God would not speak afterward about another day." 20:24 Now let's read verse 9 together, 20:25 now you can bring it up. 20:27 Here it is. 20:28 "So then there is still awaiting a full 20:32 and complete together 20:34 Sabbath rest reserved for the true people of God." 20:40 That's the way it is in the Hebrew. 20:42 There remains a full and complete Sabbath 20:46 rest reserved for the true people of God. 20:50 Now, why? 20:52 When the children of Israel entered Canaan, 20:54 they embraced the rest, the spiritual rest, 20:59 by entering into the land of rest, 21:02 and weekly they embraced the spiritual rest 21:05 by entering into the day of rest. 21:07 That's why the Bible says, 21:09 if he had given them rest on any other platform, 21:12 He would not afterward have spoken of another day. 21:15 What that simply means was 21:16 if entering Canaan got rid of the Sabbath, 21:20 He would not have still emphasized the Sabbath rest. 21:23 That's why it's there, still remains 21:24 a Sabbath rest to the true people of God. 21:27 So why is that vitally important? 21:29 Now go with me to Exodus. 21:31 Sorry to Ezekiel. Let me show you something. 21:33 This is not in our notes. 21:35 This is just extra credit. 21:38 Not in our notes. 21:40 This is just extra credit. 21:42 All right. 21:44 Go with me to Ezekiel. 21:48 Okay. 21:50 Because a lot of times we... 21:53 it's important to understand. 21:54 We're going to go to Ezekiel 20. 21:56 Ezekiel 20. 21:59 All right. 22:03 And I'm looking up another text just so that you can follow me. 22:10 Okay, here we are. 22:12 And I'm gonna look at another verse here. 22:16 Okay, good. 22:18 And we're going to look at Ezekiel 20. 22:21 And we're going to look together at verse 12. 22:25 Some of you theologians know where I'm going. 22:27 All right, look at the, look at, look at Ezekiel 20:12. 22:32 "More over," the Lord says in other words 22:34 "Furthermore I also gave them my Sabbath 22:40 to be a sign between me and them 22:42 that they might know that I am the Lord who," does what? 22:47 "Sanctifies them." 22:49 The Sabbath is not just a day. 22:52 It is a sign that I know 22:56 where my sanctifying power comes from. 22:59 It connects me to the Lord, amen somebody? 23:01 Amen. 23:02 So it's a sign of our relationship 23:04 like an anniversary is a sign between a husband and a wife. 23:08 Right? We have presidents that have holidays. 23:11 People say, well, we think we need to have a holiday 23:14 for this president or that president. 23:17 There's a sign when you, when you, 23:19 on a Presidents Day 23:20 you're recognizing mostly in our country 23:22 Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. 23:24 It's a sign about those presidents. 23:26 Every day established has a special indication, 23:29 has a special significance, the Sabbath is the sign 23:32 and let me use my pen as an example. 23:35 The Sabbath, here I am, here is the Sabbath, 23:39 and here is the Lord, is the sign between us. 23:43 When I embrace this pen as the Sabbath, 23:47 it's connecting me to my Lord. 23:50 The Sabbath is a sign between us. 23:52 This pen represents the Sabbath. 23:55 When I ignore it, there is no sign between us. 23:58 When I get rid of it, 24:01 there's nothing that connects us. 24:02 And what man has done. 24:04 He's gotten rid of it 24:05 and put a tradition like my remote 24:07 between the two and Lord is not holding on to that 24:09 because He says that has no connection to Me. 24:11 You could hold on to that. 24:12 That's your tradition, 24:14 but I'm not connecting the other end. 24:15 You see, so man have embraced the tradition 24:18 and want the Lord to accept it. 24:19 He said, no, put the tradition down 24:21 and pick up my Sabbath. 24:23 Now I'll join hands with you. 24:25 Amen somebody? 24:26 It's a special sign. 24:28 So when men tell you, pick any day, 24:30 God's not telling you that, right? 24:34 Men are telling us that, not the Lord. 24:36 Let's go to the next question, number 18. 24:38 Now, this question, number 18, is so important 24:42 because what it does and what it's going to do. 24:45 It's going to show you unequivocally one of the events 24:50 that helps us to see clearly the create, 24:54 these three days we mentioned. 24:57 We're going to see the entire crucifixion weekend, 25:00 and we're going to be able to see 25:03 between the holiday of Easter. 25:07 There is Easter the resurrection day. 25:09 There is Good Friday. There's a day between. 25:12 We're gonna see all three of these days 25:14 so that if you ask the question, 25:16 how do I know which day is a Sabbath, 25:19 the Bible makes it very clear. 25:20 Here's the question number 18. 25:23 What are the names 25:25 that the Bible gives to the days of the week? 25:28 What are the names 25:29 that the Bible gives to the days of the week? 25:33 All right, let's begin by going to Luke 23. 25:38 All right. 25:39 And we're going to start with verse 54. 25:41 I know in my lesson I put it verse 53. 25:44 But let me go to Luke 23. 25:47 I'm on my way there. 25:49 Slow down you, fast people, here we are. 25:55 Luke 23. 25:57 Okay, here I am. 25:59 And we're gonna begin with verse 54, 26:04 and it will appear on the screen. 26:06 All right. 26:07 It says, here it is, "That day was the," what day? 26:13 That day was the preparation. 26:15 So let's put that. That day was the what? 26:17 "Preparation and the Sabbath drew near." 26:20 Now verse 55. 26:22 "And the women 26:23 who had come with Him from Galilee followed after. 26:27 And they observed the tomb, and how his body was laid, 26:32 then they returned and prepared spices 26:35 and fragrant oils. 26:37 And get this and they rested on the, 26:40 what day, Sabbath according to the what? 26:45 Commandment." 26:46 Now get this take the slide away for a moment. 26:49 They rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment. 26:52 I gotta ask you the question, what commandments? 26:55 Somebody tell me. 26:57 Now, the Ten Commandments 26:58 or specifically the fourth commandment, 27:01 even at the death of Jesus, 27:02 the women who were followers of Jesus, 27:05 they followed Him from Galilee. 27:07 They rested. 27:08 They had these fragrant oils for the embalming of His body. 27:11 But they rested on the Sabbath 27:13 because they knew that thou shalt not do any work. 27:17 So they rested on the Sabbath, 27:19 and they were waiting for the Sabbath to pass 27:21 so they can go to the tomb and anoint the body of Jesus. 27:24 So now so far let's put the first day 27:27 we found the first day we found was the what? 27:30 Preparation. 27:31 The next one B was the what? 27:33 Sabbath. 27:34 We're going to add the third one in just a moment. 27:35 All right. Let's go to Luke 24:1. 27:38 Here it is again. 27:41 "Now on the first day of the week, 27:44 very early in the morning, 27:46 they, and certain other women with them 27:50 came to the tomb bringing the spices 27:53 which they had, what, they had prepared." 27:56 Now what next day did we find? 27:59 What was it called? 28:01 First day of the week. 28:03 Let's go and make this clear. 28:05 Preparation day, Sabbath day, first day. 28:11 All right, so I want to illustrate this very clearly. 28:14 I have not done this before 28:16 but I need three people up here real quickly, 28:18 come on, come on, Hannah. 28:19 Come on up here real quick. 28:20 Yannick, you're an Olympian get up here. 28:23 Come on, David, get up here. 28:26 Come hurry up, real quick. Hurry up. 28:28 Wide shot. Okay. 28:30 Good to have you, Hannah. 28:31 We do have people on our audience 28:32 I'm not talking to the tables. Okay. Get over here. 28:35 You're the yellow, you're the, okay, okay. 28:37 So we have the preparation day, we have the preparation day. 28:42 We have the first day. 28:44 Now what day was Christ raised on, do you know? 28:50 First. Raise your hand. 28:52 Let's say the first day. 28:55 What day was Christ put in the tomb, what day? 28:59 Preparation. What day was Christ put in the tomb? 29:01 Preparation day. Raise your hand. 29:02 Preparation day. 29:03 What day did the women rest on, what day? 29:05 What day they rest on? 29:08 Sabbath. Okay, put your hand up. 29:09 What day? The Sabbath day. 29:11 Now get this. 29:13 This is the day honored because of His resurrection. 29:17 This is the day that men have substituted for this day. 29:22 So watch what men have done. 29:25 Bye, Yannick. 29:28 They have said, Ah, now you take the place 29:31 and don't go anywhere I'm have you come back. 29:33 They say now Yannick is that 29:37 Hannah is the new day of worship, 29:39 but there's a problem. 29:40 Hannah represents what day? 29:43 Get back over here, Hannah. 29:45 Yannick, get back over here. 29:47 Yannick represents what day? 29:49 The Sabbath. 29:51 So if Hannah is the first 29:52 and there are only seven days in a week. 29:54 Let's start counting backward, mathematicians, 29:57 first, then the last day is what? 29:59 Seventh, the day before the seventh is a six. 30:02 So you have the six, you have the seventh, 30:05 you have the first. 30:07 Wow! 30:08 Do you know, and I'm going to show you this in an, 30:10 in the next lesson we're going to study 30:12 how Sunday became a popular day of worship. 30:16 Men, if you read the Catholic catechism, 30:20 they call this day now the eighth day. 30:23 This day is now called the eighth day. 30:27 There is no eight day week. 30:29 Come one, somebody, say amen. 30:30 Amen. 30:32 This day which is the first in the Bible is now called 30:34 the eighth day. 30:36 So you know when the confusion comes in? 30:38 When Easter comes around, these two days are in conflict. 30:43 Stand in front of him. 30:44 Okay, I didn't tell him to do that. 30:47 But this is where Christians get confused 30:49 because some Christians believe that this day is this day 30:52 and some believe that this day is this day. 30:54 I was confused too. 30:56 You were confusing too until you got cleared up, right. 30:58 These days are not the same. 31:00 So if we get rid of this day. Go ahead. 31:03 Then the Sabbath still stands. 31:05 Amen. 31:07 Thank you, David thank you, Yannick, thank you, Hannah. 31:10 Amen. Can we say amen? Amen. 31:12 Don't get the days mixed up 31:13 any more than we got the people mixed up. 31:16 But many pastors have told you it doesn't matter. 31:18 Well, I'll tell you, Yannick is Yannick, 31:20 Hannah's Hannah, 31:22 and David is David, what we say. 31:24 You can merge them, 31:25 you can't get rid of one in place of the other 31:28 and when you try to do that, 31:29 Easter is the most confusing vacation, 31:31 I mean holiday of the year. 31:34 Because when Easter comes, 31:35 I'm sure some people go to church on Sunday morning 31:37 say happy Sabbath. 31:40 Because they were taught that! 31:42 So many Christians I heard songs. 31:45 Every day will be the Sabbath. 31:47 Sunday would never change. 31:49 There's some popular artists 31:50 that sing that every day in heaven. 31:51 Every day will be the Sabbath, Sunday would never end. 31:54 Popular artists, they put both words together. 31:57 We couldn't do it no matter what. 31:58 We could not merge Hannah with Yannick, 32:01 they just wouldn't mix. 32:03 The Lord never got rid of one in place of the other. 32:06 Men made a change and we're going to show you 32:08 from the records of history how men did that. 32:11 But we're going to take another step now 32:14 to question 19 because this is powerful. 32:17 This is powerful. 32:21 People are also taught 32:25 that something was made new. 32:31 They say a new day of worship. 32:33 The reason for this question number 19 is huge. 32:37 Look at question number 19, 32:38 it's huge because many are taught that Sunday, 32:41 we honor Sunday now or the first day of the week, 32:44 we honor it in recognition of the resurrection of Christ. 32:49 But let me show you what the Lord established, 32:52 to honor the resurrection of Christ. 32:55 Let's go now to question number 19. 32:56 Here it is, question number 19. 32:59 What service is established in honor of Jesus' death 33:03 and resurrection? 33:05 What service is established in honor of Jesus' death 33:08 and resurrection? 33:10 Let's go now to Romans 6. 33:13 What book did I say? 33:15 Romans 6, a powerful, 33:19 a powerful description 33:21 of what the Lord established to honor His resurrection. 33:26 All right, we're going to read Romans 6:3-5. 33:30 Okay. Okay. 33:32 This is huge. This is huge. 33:34 Here it is. 33:37 "Or do you not know 33:40 that as many of us as were, what, 33:44 baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his, 33:47 what, death? 33:49 Therefore we were, what, buried with him through, 33:53 what, baptism into death that just as Christ was what, 33:58 raised from the dead by the glory of the Father. 34:01 Even so we also should walk in the, 34:04 what, newness of life." 34:07 This is huge. 34:09 For the next verse, verse, 34:12 "For if we had been united together 34:15 in the likeness of His death. 34:18 Certainly we also shall be 34:20 in the likeness of His resurrection, 34:22 finally knowing this that our old man was, 34:27 what, crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be, 34:32 what, done away with 34:34 that we should no longer be slaves to, 34:36 what, sin." 34:38 I got to take a breath here 34:40 because what I'm about to reveal to you 34:41 has never been revealed in this context before. 34:44 Okay, now I have four questions. 34:46 Are you ready for number 19? 34:48 The name of the service is what? 34:50 Baptism, okay. 34:51 The name of the service is baptism. 34:54 Okay. 34:58 From the verses we read, what was made new? 35:02 Someone look at the verses. 35:03 I'm not going to give you the... 35:05 I'm not going to give you the spoon. 35:06 What was made new? 35:08 Tell me what was made new? 35:12 Say it again. We are made new. 35:15 The Lord wanted to create a new man not a new day. 35:22 Huge. 35:23 Have you ever had that scripture 35:24 used that way before? 35:26 The Lord instituted baptism. 35:30 Not Sunday worship. 35:33 To create a new man, not a new day. 35:39 Look at the third question, what was done away? 35:42 What was done away? 35:44 Verse 6, come on, somebody. Huh? 35:47 The body of sin. 35:51 The body of sin, 35:52 that old nature was done away with, 35:54 not the Sabbath. 35:56 You see, how the devil twists things up. 35:58 The devil says, the Sabbath was done away with, 36:00 the Bible says, the body of sin was done away with. 36:04 Right? 36:06 And now this is huge. 36:09 What should we no longer do? 36:13 Be, said it again. 36:15 Be slaves to sin. 36:17 We should no longer be slaves to sin 36:19 but you've been taught 36:21 we should no longer honor the Sabbath. 36:23 You see how the devil has mixed this up? 36:26 Here it is. 36:27 The name of the service, together, baptism. 36:30 What was made new? We are. 36:32 Not a new day. What was done away with? 36:35 Sin, the body of sin was done away with. 36:38 What should we no longer do? 36:40 Be slaves to sin. 36:42 It didn't say we should no longer honor the Sabbath, 36:44 it said, we should no longer be slaves to sin. 36:47 You have been taught and many... 36:49 and I want to tell you the largest church in the world 36:51 the Catholic Church, I got to be clear, 36:53 not the people, 36:54 I love my family 90% of my family is Catholic. 36:57 So I'm telling you, out of a heart of love. 36:59 All Catholics have been told by the pontiff whether Francis, 37:04 Pope Paul, or Benedict go all the way back. 37:07 They were all taught that Sunday is a new day. 37:13 The Bible says we receive a new life. 37:17 They were taught that the Sabbath was done away. 37:20 The Bible says the body of sin was done the way. 37:24 They were taught, we walk in a new day. 37:27 The Bible says, we walk in a new life. 37:30 You get the difference? 37:31 And the service is not called a day of worship. 37:33 It's called baptism. 37:36 That's what the Lord instituted in honor of His resurrection, 37:39 baptism. 37:41 That when you come up out of the watery grave, 37:43 you walk in a new life. 37:44 You don't accept a new day. 37:46 Can we all say amen to that? Amen. 37:48 This scripture has often been left out of the equation 37:51 but when I was studying this lesson Louis, 37:53 the Lord said, John, go to Romans 6. 37:56 They've been told that there's a new day 37:59 but it's a new life. 38:01 They've been told the Sabbath was done away with, 38:03 but the body of sin was done away with, 38:05 they were told to walk in a new day of worship, 38:07 the Lord says, I want you to walk in a new life. 38:08 Amen? Amen. 38:10 It's huge. The difference is magnificent. 38:12 It's the difference between tradition and God's word. 38:16 Now, let's go to some of the favorite verses 38:20 in the Bible. 38:21 This lesson is probably one of the most potent ones 38:24 I've ever covered. 38:25 Because what I'm going to do now in the next two questions 38:27 is I'm going to show you 38:30 what Sabbaths were a shadow. 38:35 There's a favorite verse in the Bible. 38:37 Let's go to question number 20. 38:39 There's a favorite verse in the Bible 38:41 that many theologians use 38:43 to try to get rid of the Sabbath. 38:45 And let's look at it. 38:46 Let's not skip a single verse. 38:49 Let's look at every one of them. 38:50 Question number 20. Question number 20. 38:54 Here it is. 38:55 Was the Creation Sabbath a "shadow" 38:58 that needed to be discontinued? 39:01 Was the creation Sabbath a "shadow" 39:03 that needed to be discontinued? 39:05 Let's go now to Colossians 2:16-17. 39:09 Colossians 2:16-17. 39:12 This is a favorite verse. 39:13 You know what amazes me, 39:15 is many clergy and leaders 39:18 and traditionalist try to find verses in the Bible 39:21 to support what they already believe, 39:24 rather than letting the Bible teach them what to believe. 39:27 They go in with a preconceived idea 39:30 as one of my favorite Dr. Pundit said, 39:32 "Don't ever say to anybody that they are not bias." 39:35 Everybody's bias. 39:36 You're not going to meet a single person 39:38 that's not bias. 39:41 But if you are an inquirer, 39:45 he said you need to be an inquiring inquirer. 39:48 A person that wants to honestly learn 39:51 and we should be so, 39:52 we should be so subject to God's word 39:55 that the Word of God, 39:57 we should be willing to allow the Word of God 39:59 to destroy any preconceived idea 40:03 that's out of harmony with it. 40:04 Ain't it right? Amen. 40:06 After all, do you, 40:07 how many how many people buy GPS's and throw it out, 40:09 when it says make a left 40:11 and you think you should go right? 40:14 How many people bang on the door of the cockpit 40:17 when we say I think California is over there 40:19 and the pilot's going over there? 40:22 You've got to trust something and I want to tell you, 40:24 we can still trust God's Word. 40:26 What do you say? Amen. 40:27 So now let's go to this favorite text. 40:30 Colossians 2:16-17, I'm turning there 40:34 because I want to read it with you. 40:36 This is a favorite passage. 40:38 I'm not leaving any stone unturned. 40:41 Okay, here we are. 40:43 It's on the screen, here we go. 40:44 This verse in my book... So here it is. Gotcha. 40:46 Okay. 40:48 Colossians 2, here it is on the screen, here it is. 40:52 "So let no one judge you in, what, 40:56 together food or in, what, drink or regarding a, what, 41:01 festival or a new, what, 41:03 new moon or, what, Sabbaths which are, what, 41:07 a shadow of things to come but the, what, 41:11 substance is of Christ." 41:14 Now this is the passage 41:16 where the devil pops up his head and say, 41:18 "That's it, that's it, 41:20 that's the one that gets rid of the Sabbath." 41:23 Let me say like the kid said in my neighborhood growing up. 41:27 We're going to find out now, because we need to know. 41:31 Food, drink, festivals, new moon, Sabbath, shadows? 41:36 Write this down. 41:37 Was the creation Sabbath a shadow 41:39 that needed to be discontinued? 41:41 Now, I don't want you to answer this yet. 41:44 Because what we're going to do now, 41:47 you know the answer is no, right? 41:51 What we're going to do now 41:52 is we're going to go through all of the shadow Sabbath. 41:56 So that you can see what was a shadow. 41:59 Now, what's a shadow? 42:01 Listen, listen, what's a shadow? 42:03 I wish I could create a shadow. 42:06 I got a shadow. 42:07 If you follow my shadow, it leads to me. 42:11 Right? 42:13 Which means the shadows had to lead somewhere, 42:19 the shadows had to lead somewhere, 42:22 and based on the text, the shadows, 42:25 these were shadows of things to come, 42:27 but who was the substance? 42:31 And the word the Bible uses is Christ. 42:34 Christ was the substance. 42:35 So here is the point. 42:37 All these things 42:39 had to be a reflection of who was to come. 42:46 Let's go now and break down the reflections. 42:50 We're going to go to question number 21, 42:53 and I'm purposefully leaving question 20 open, 42:55 although I know the answer is no. 42:58 I'm purposefully leaving question number 21 43:00 because I want to be an inquiring inquirer. 43:03 I don't want to say anything that you might say, 43:05 you're only saying that because you keep the Sabbath. 43:07 I want the Bible to speak. 43:09 Let's go to Leviticus question number 21, 43:10 here it is now, question 21. 43:14 What were some of the "Shadow Sabbaths" 43:18 that pointed to the work of Jesus? 43:21 Let's begin by going to Leviticus. 43:24 Let's all turn there because I'm only giving you some, 43:26 there were very many. 43:28 But I'm going to give you only some, all right. 43:31 While you're going to Leviticus, 43:33 I'm turning there now. Okay. 43:38 Can we say, thank the Lord for His Word? 43:42 No, I said say thank the Lord for His Word. 43:44 Thank the Lord for His Word. 43:47 I want to let you know the board 43:48 has approved the word "Thank you, Jesus." 43:52 Okay. It's amazing. 43:54 Now, Leviticus, here it is, I'm in 23 now. 43:57 Here we are. Okay. Here we are. 43:59 Now, I'm only giving you some, there are so many, 44:02 but let's begin to break down these shadows 44:05 because this is huge. 44:08 You can't have a shadow 44:10 unless that shadow is connected to a substance. 44:13 No, nothing that cast, 44:18 anything that casts a shadow has to have substance. 44:21 So Jesus was saying, 44:23 "Until I come here are the shadows 44:26 letting you know I am going to come." 44:28 Let's look at the first one. 44:29 Leviticus 23:39. All right, look at this. 44:34 And we're gonna give labels 44:35 and titles to each one of these. 44:36 Here it is. Leviticus 23:39. Here it is. 44:40 "Also on the fifteenth day of the, what month, 44:46 seventh month, 44:48 when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, 44:51 you shall keep the feast of the Lord, 44:53 how long, seven days." 44:55 Now, this brings out two of the Sabbaths. 44:58 Let me go to the next verse. 45:00 Let's go to the next verse. 45:01 I mean the continuation of the verse. 45:02 It says, "On the first day there shall be a, what, 45:08 Sabbath-rest and on the eighth day a, what, 45:12 Sabbath-rest. 45:13 Now notice it says, a Sabbath-rest, 45:16 a Sabbath-rest. 45:18 What Sabbath-rest was this? What Sabbath-rest was this? 45:21 Go back to the beginning of the verse. 45:23 I'm turning there with myself. 45:25 The beginning of the verse, here it is. 45:27 This is called the gathering in of the fruit 45:30 or the first fruits, the first fruits. 45:37 And this was a seven, every, the Bible had sevens, 45:41 they had something called every, they had seven, 45:44 seven months rest, seven days of rest, 45:48 which was a seven day Sabbath. 45:51 They had a first day Sabbath. 45:53 They had an eighth day Sabbath. 45:55 These were feasts. 45:57 And this was 45:59 the Feast of First Fruits, write that down. 46:02 So here we go on Leviticus 23:39. 46:05 What day was the first day mentioned? 46:08 Fifteenth day, 46:10 it's the beginning of the verse. 46:11 Also on the what? 46:13 Fifteenth day of the seventh month. 46:15 That was the Sabbath. 46:17 The 15th day. No, not that verse. 46:19 Not that verse yet. 46:21 We're going back, we're looking over verse 39. 46:23 On the 15th day, so in question number 21 46:26 under the first reference on a put 15th, 15th. 46:30 I'll bring that up on the screen 46:31 so my people in the audience here can see. 46:33 Here on the 15th day, all right? 46:37 Of what month? 46:39 Seventh month. Write that down for B. 46:42 Fifteenth day of the seventh month 46:46 of the sabbatical month, 46:48 was when they gathered the fruits in. 46:50 It was called the Feast 46:52 and it was a feast for seven days. 46:55 So A is 15th day, B is 7th month. 46:59 These were shadow Sabbaths. 47:00 This was the gathering in off the fruits. 47:02 It's also called the Feast of First Fruits. 47:06 It's a harvest time, the seventh month. 47:09 Now, let's go to the very next to that verse 47:10 and then you have on the first day 47:14 there shall be a, what, Sabbath-rest 47:16 and on the, what, eighth day there should be a Sabbath-rest. 47:19 These are feasts that were specifically ordained 47:23 for the Jews to honor. 47:25 These were feasts that they honored 47:27 during this seventh month. 47:29 So in the seventh month they had a 15 day Sabbath, 47:34 a first day Sabbath, and an eighth day Sabbath. 47:37 It was all called Sabbath. 47:38 You know, the day, you know 47:39 what the word Sabbath simply means? 47:41 It means holy convocation. It means holy convocation. 47:45 You got to know these because what happens here is 47:47 when people connect these with the Ten Commandments, 47:52 you get confused and if you're not careful, 47:54 you merge them together. 47:57 Now, I'm gonna give myself in the very next question 47:59 we'll see why we cannot merge them together. 48:01 All right. 48:02 So on question 21, first one you have A 15, 48:07 B seventh month, C first day, D eighth day. 48:12 Those are the... 48:14 those are four Sabbaths right there. 48:16 Now, let's go to the very next verse. 48:18 Leviticus 23:27-32. 48:23 Here it is. Now you can bring the text up. 48:26 Verse 27, it says also on the, what, 48:31 tenth day of the seventh month 48:35 shall be the, what, Day of Atonement. 48:39 Write that down. 48:41 And let's keep reading the verses. 48:42 And it says you shall afflict your souls 48:45 and offer an offering made by fire what, to the Lord. 48:49 Now, look at verse 32. Here it is. 48:53 It shall be to you together, a Sabbath of solemn rest 48:59 and you shall afflict your souls on the, what day, 49:03 ninth day of the month at evening 49:06 from evening to evening you shall, what, 49:09 celebrate your, what's the word, 49:12 your Sabbath. 49:14 Now, which one was this? 49:16 We got the answer in the verse before that somebody tell me 49:19 what, what celebration was that? 49:21 Day Of Atonement. 49:22 When was it? When was it? 49:25 On the ninth day of the, what month, 49:30 ninth day of the tenth month. 49:32 So now here is the answer. 49:34 Under Leviticus 23:27 put Day of Atonement under A. 49:41 And put, and put ninth day, 49:45 ninth day tenth month under B. 49:48 Ninth day tenth month under B. 49:51 Here it is. 49:53 On the ninth day of the month that evening 49:56 and it was under the tenth month. 49:58 Okay? 50:00 Of the seventh month, ninth day of the seventh month. 50:02 So here you are. 50:03 You have the Day of Atonement, 50:05 the ninth day of the seventh month. 50:07 That's another shadow Sabbath. This happened once a year. 50:11 The Jews had a Day of Atonement service 50:12 and what was that purpose of that service? 50:16 The cleansing of sin. 50:18 Every day they sacrificed their sin, 50:20 they took the life of the lamb, sprinkle the blood, 50:23 but once a year they call the Day of Atonement 50:26 where the sins were not just confessed 50:27 they were, what, blotted out. 50:32 They were I was forgiven every day 50:34 but my sins were blotted out 50:36 once a year in the Day of Atonement. 50:40 That was in the seventh month, 50:43 the ninth day of the seventh month 50:45 was called the Day of Atonement. 50:47 Let's go to the next one. Let's go to next one. 50:50 Chapter 23:24. Chapter23:24. Here it is. 50:56 Okay. 50:58 Here's what the Bible says, together. 50:59 "Speak to the children of Israel saying in the, 51:03 what month now, seventh month on the, what day, 51:09 first day of the month 51:11 you shall have together a Sabbath-rest, 51:15 a memorial of, what, blowing of trumpets. 51:19 Hey, what else? Holy convocation. 51:23 Going on. 51:26 I'll give you that one they're so that's that one. 51:27 So now what is that called? 51:31 Okay. Okay. 51:32 And what day was this supposed to be on? 51:36 The first day of what month? 51:38 Seventh month, exactly, 51:39 now, why the first day of the seventh month? 51:43 Because the blowing of the trumpets 51:45 was always a warning of the Day of Atonement. 51:48 So, the trumpets were blown and the Lord said, 51:50 "It shall be a Sabbath-rest". 51:52 When the trumpets began to blow, 51:53 the people were to rest, 51:55 prepare themselves for the Day of Atonement, 51:57 and it was called a Sabbath-rest. 51:59 Now, let me ask a question today. 52:01 How many Christians have the blowing of the trumpets 52:03 in your church? 52:04 How many Christians celebrate the Day of Atonement? 52:06 How many Christians have the feast of first fruits? 52:08 None of us. 52:09 Because these are all foreshadowing the work 52:12 that Jesus would do, and when was this? 52:15 That's when was this? 52:17 The seventh month, the first day of the month, 52:20 write that down for Leviticus 23:24. 52:25 Blowing up the trumpets on the seventh month, 52:29 the first day of the month. 52:30 Notice how you can get confused. 52:32 If you're not if you don't read your Bible carefully 52:35 you can have a pastor that lumps all this together 52:38 and make you think just pick a Sabbath, 52:40 and that's why people do that, 52:42 because they don't see the shadows Sabbaths, 52:44 they miss them. 52:45 These are all pointing to the work of Christ. 52:48 Now let's look at the next one. 52:50 All right. 52:52 We're going to go now to Leviticus 23:4-5. 52:56 And here it's going to appear on the screen now here it is, 52:59 "These are the feasts of the Lord, 53:04 holy convocations 53:06 which you shall proclaim at their appointed times." 53:10 Now, let's read together. 53:11 On the, what day, 14th day of the, what month, 53:15 first month at twilight is the Lord's Passover 53:21 what's supposed to happen. 53:22 So let's write that down. 53:23 What's what day is it supposed to be? 53:27 Fourteenth day of the first month 53:29 the Passover the Lord's Passover is a Sabbath, 53:33 a shadow Sabbath. 53:35 Because today, do we honor the Passover? 53:37 Yes or no? 53:38 What's in place of the Passover? 53:40 Somebody tell me. The communion service. 53:45 Jesus during the time of Passover, 53:48 when the lamb was about to be killed for the Passover, 53:51 the Lamb of God was being nailed to the cross 53:55 and the Jews there were about to take the life of the Lamb, 53:58 the Lamb got away, the curtain was torn from top to bottom, 54:01 read it there, Matthew Chapter 27 54:03 and the Lamb Christ Jesus was being crucified. 54:06 Can you say amen? Amen. 54:08 So this was normally 54:09 the real Lamb giving his literal life, 54:13 his throat being cut, his blood being shed. 54:16 How are we forgiven? 54:18 We overcome by the blood of the Lamb, a shadow. 54:22 that little lamb pointed to the Lamb Christ Jesus. 54:26 So when John the Baptist in John 1:29 said 54:28 "Behold the Lamb of God". 54:30 The reason why they knew is because for 1,500 years 54:33 they've been killing the shadow lamb. 54:36 But the real lamb showed up Christ Jesus. 54:39 Come on somebody. It's a shadow. 54:41 So every time they celebrate a Passover 54:44 it was to point them to Christ. 54:46 That's why it was such a travesty 54:48 when Jesus came, 54:50 He came to His own people 54:52 that He had given these shadow Sabbath 54:54 and they didn't even recognize Him. 54:57 Who are you? 54:59 Before Abraham was You am, you're not even old enough. 55:05 They didn't recognize the Lamb of God 55:07 that was the travesty. 55:08 But the devil has turned it around now. 55:12 And he wants Christians today 55:14 to ignore what God established from the beginning, 55:16 and try to find another way to Christ. 55:18 The only way to Christ is through obedience. 55:19 Let's get the last one now. 55:22 Leviticus 23:6. Leviticus 23:6. Here it is. 55:27 All right, here it is. 55:31 And on the, what day, 55:33 the 15th day of the same month 55:38 and, what month was that, first month is the feast of, 55:44 what, Unleavened Bread to the Lord, 55:48 you must eat, what, unleavened bread. 55:52 What do we use unleavened bread for today? 55:55 Somebody tell me. The communion service. 55:59 Now, you want to know that the unleavened bread 56:03 is a shadow of the bread of life, right. 56:07 When Jesus came to the disciples, to the Jews, 56:10 there in John 8, they saw Him. 56:14 And he said, "Your fathers gave you bread 56:18 in the wilderness," remember that? 56:21 And they said, "Of course they did", 56:24 he said "Well, I am the true bread that came, 56:28 Moses couldn't give you bread 56:30 but my father has given you bread. 56:32 I am the true bread," 56:35 the bread in the wilderness pointed to Jesus 56:37 the bread of life. 56:39 Can you say amen? 56:40 Let me show you, the water in the sanctuary service 56:43 the water there in the laver 56:45 where the priest wash their hand 56:47 was a shadow of the water of life Jesus. 56:51 The Lamb being slain was a shadow of the Lamb of God 56:56 which taketh away the sin of the world, right? 56:59 The candelabras in the sanctuary 57:02 was a shadow of the Jesus the light of the world. 57:08 The high priest who was a man who was sinful 57:12 who had to confess his own sins 57:13 before he participated in the services, 57:16 was a shadow of a high priest 57:18 who was sinless What do you say? 57:21 That was weak amen. Amen. 57:22 Amen? Amen. 57:24 We have a high priest 57:25 that doesn't need to create a sacrifice 57:28 because he is the sacrifice. 57:30 You see, friends, were going to continue 57:32 and you will see in the next study, 57:35 why the shadow Sabbath which were added 57:37 because of sin cannot replace the Sabbath 57:41 which was instituted before sin. 57:44 That's the comparative nature right there. 57:47 I know it's a challenge 57:48 to understand some of these things, 57:50 but if you keep on studying allowing the Word of God 57:52 to be your guide, you'll see that it's a simple thing 57:55 to honor what the Lord has established. 57:57 So don't stop now because I believed 57:59 if you keep going one day 58:01 it will come into a sharper focus. 58:03 God bless you. |
