Bible talks about worship.

So often people think that
worship is just what you sing

or how you teach
or how you preach.

But when you follow the Bible,

the Lord broadens
that to let us know

that what we do with our bodies

into our bodies is
also a symbol of worship

to the true God,

and notice how
God has the authority

to make that
kind of a claim on us.

Let's look at that
together and we read,

"Or do you not know that your,

what, your body is the
temple of the Holy Spirit

who is in you,
whom you have from God,

and you are not your own?"

We don't belong to us.

And if you think
about that the Bible says,

the Holy Spirit lives in here.

So if you think about that,
that's a very true statement

because I'm gonna go to
verse 20 in just a moment.

Because when Jesus talks about

being redeemed
and being cleansed,

one of the things He
talks about is the redemption

that comes and people
that are often possess

in the Bible, in the gospel,
Jesus talks about a person

who had been freed from demons,
00:07:32.98\00:07:35.72
from one demon particularly
and the house was swept
00:07:35.75\00:07:40.06
and the house was
clean, but the house was empty,
00:07:40.09\00:07:44.39
and the demons came back
00:07:44.43\00:07:47.06
examining the person's life
00:07:47.10\00:07:48.63
to see if there
were any openings.
00:07:48.66\00:07:52.47
And they found the house
swept no more sin, clean,
00:07:52.50\00:07:56.50
no more past record, but empty.
00:07:56.54\00:07:59.97
Meaning the person did
not invite the Holy Spirit
00:08:00.01\00:08:01.98
to come into his or her life,
00:08:02.01\00:08:03.98
and what happened
as a result of that?

He brought with him
seven demons worse than before
00:08:05.81\00:08:08.85
and the Bible says,
"The latter end was worse

with that
individual than the beginning."

So when the Bible says,
"The Holy Spirit dwells in us,

when you come into a
relationship with Jesus,

" that old spirit is gone
00:08:19.43\00:08:21.40
and then the new spirit come in.
00:08:21.43\00:08:23.60
That's why the Bible says,

the fruit, you
know, who is living there.

"The fruit of the spirit
is what, love, joy, peace,

longsuffering,
gentleness, meekness, patience."

The fruit show up,

so you'll know who is
living there by the fruit.

By their fruits
you will know them.

So when they are
fruit on the inside.

When the Spirit of

but what I want you to know
is it all comes in one bite.

It's all in that single fruit,

not the fruits of the Spirit
but the fruit of the Spirit,

the outward working
of the Spirit of God

So the spirit is moved
and said, "This is my house."

what you do with my house,

I'm concerned about it.

And notice what he
says here's the reason why.

He moves in, he
moves into the body temple.

And then the Bible says

Lot of times people want
to glorify God in the spirit.

You've heard a
lot of Christians,

that's the terminology nowadays,

they say, "I'm in the Spirit."

To be in the Spirit
also means to be concerned

about what we
do with our bodies.

So if we are in the Spirit,

we should be just as concerned

as to what the Spirit
want us to do with this temple

that belongs to God,

What I want to do tonight
in laying that foundation,

show you a couple of things

all the precious metals,

silver, the precious stones,

the expensive clothing in
Egypt and carry it with them

because he had a
use for those things.

He was going to build a temple,

a sanctuary
first supportable one

and then a permanent one

when they get to
the Promised Land.

The children of Israel
in turn decided to wear it.

But the Lord gave us
in His words some glimpses

of what the purpose of
those precious stones were,

and what the purpose
of the gold and the silver

was, right?

So look at these two pictures

because the Lord talked about

first of all the
high priest's garment.

that represent the tribes
of the children of Israel.

But then you have a white stone,

and then you have a black stone.

That's the Urim
where God responded

if there was an issue
that could not be settled

between the judges in Israel.

God will be asked to
be the final verdict.

And if it was a yes,

or if God was approving of it,
the white stone would radiate.

If God was not approving of
it, the dark stone will radiate.

the high priest wore.

Now let me ask you the question.

Who is our high
priest? What's his name?

had divorced Himself

of parents do that.

That's what the mother would say

when they're misbehaving

That's the same
thing happens nowadays,

with our faithfulness.

love our rebellion

they have corrupted themselves,

Now, what I'd like us to
do is go to Exodus Chapter 32.

prominent stories in scripture

that music and adornment

are two areas of struggle
in many Christian churches.

Music is more like the world,

and the church is
dressing more like the world,

and I'll show you
why that that is an issue
